35 we're right here by that would you like us to take it all right we are going for somebody that has been stabbed is this him this is him that's him that's him that's him oh why was that Bloody where was the other person at over there when we pull up on the scene I see a man covered in blood but because one's walking and one's laying on the ground we have to assume that the one lying on the ground is in worse condition man all right look like he's cut on his hand got okay what fting where you C at just your hand I mean he's got like blood right here but our patient had just clean to the hand but he doesn't speak much English I need some Spanish so at this point I mean we really need a translator to figure out exactly what happen and it looks like I don't know that guy in the r yeah he's cut too his neck is split did y'all look at him no oh he's cut his neck is split well why is he walking down the street I don't know hang on it's almost over I cleared a call and I heard that Nick and Holly were on a stabbing that was maybe two blocks from me so headed over day to see if they needed a hand are they friends do we know turn your neck let me see turn your head turn your head let me see your neck all right come come with me you need to go to the hospital no no no this you have a big cut you are you going to bleed to death you're not let me see let me see let me look he's stabbed in the neck I could see all the way inside of his neck I could see the muscles and everything else I can see inside of your neck no but it's good for me no problem you have to go look oh my God is this your friend no not the friend but you know him no friend no friend is that the guy you're arguing with yeah yeah all right hey no the first patient it's only lastation in the hand the second guy's got a stab wound to the neck there was a language barrier so it was really hard to figure out what happened which caused us to not put two and two together that these two people had assaulted each other you're not listening do not bring him in here he cut him we're going to need to separate those all right we're going to get him out and you're going to go in all right5 we need another unit code three we took the more stable patient out of the truck to wait with key on scene for another unit to come all right sit down right there the Sprint unit is just a quick response vehicle we don't necessarily transport you have to go you have to go I know hang rela I got to look at it relax 1 2 that's it my gosh all right we out thanks guys appreciate I need person please hey ju did he do like this to you or was it like slice slice all right no English he's got a laceration is need some sutures that's it all right come on man look listen listen one don't move your head around too much okay by working for I understand oh my gosh you ain't going to be able to work if you ain't living you know what I'm saying so we got to take you to the hospital get checked out all right you're welcome it's not every day that you roll up quick enough to find the victim and the perpetrator on the same scene obviously if we spoke more fluently it probably would have helped out knowing that they stabbed each other quicker I just think it's funny that people like to point the finger at each other oh and then you're just like wait what what what you stabbed him he stabbed you who who stabbed who right who did it who did know that was stabed in the okay from paletto and South Clayborn we are going way out to the 7th it says a suspect fled on foot most likely by the time we get there it seem to be code four we're dispatched to a female who's been stabbed in the hand and the suspect has fled the scene we want to r on scene fast we want to get there and stop the bleeding we don't want her to bleed out we also don't want her to change her mind sometimes in domestic violence situations the patient will decide they don't want to go to the hospital or they don't want to file police report and they'll just leave the scene got an argument on a bridge we got to cut on a b ra bandage up oh hey how you doing Mama see hand real quick what happened tonight looks like it's down in the bone H yeah you'll need a couple stitches for sure mhm we'll get you up in the ambulance get you checked out okay before we get you inside can we take your jacket off real quick sweetheart after we determine this patient does not have any immediate life threats our goal is to cover the injury and just keep it clean so that her Stab Wound doesn't become life-threatening from an infection relax your hand for me just for a second relax just relax hurting okay I need leave this don't steal for me okay let's going let's get a blood pressure on you I'm going to start an i and give you something I'll give you a little bit something for the pain okay just knock the edge off feel stick in your arm on 312 and we're done clearly she's in a lot of pain I can at least make her feel better by giving her pain medication putting out a war for your rest okay man I'll get thank you mhm did he hit you anywhere okay did you get knocked out baby I feel right up in here so if I feel anything okay I don't feel anything your head that's good how does your hand feel now let's put it out here all right we're not going to take any of that stuff off leave alone all right where it's all split I know it hurts real bad got a long ride together young lady has this ever happened before he never cut me he jump the good news is you're alive bad news is if last time he hit you with a brick and this time he cut you in the hand this is going to get worse it's either going to get worse or he's going to go to prison one of the two but what I don't want to happen before he goes to prison is him hurt you whether hurt you worse or kill you either one really like it we could prevent that have you ever been through any kind of like domestic violence program or anything like that okay are you scared to leave because of money and having a place to stay and all that okay it's extremely hard the city has services available for domestic violence victims they all have you a place to stay they can set you up with people that can help you I think the hardest thing for someone subjected to domestic violence is to realize there are other options out there that they don't have to stay in that situation and sometimes all it takes is that first step it takes one person saying the right thing to get this patient out of that dangerous situation is there anything that I can help you with right this second besides just giving that was half a laugh we're moving in the right [Music] direction so we're going to bartholomy for 64y old male stab multiple times which is a little old to be out there fighting in the streets not an area where we get a lot of trauma just kidding it's an area we've been to a lot what happened to you with what this one the knife has blood almost down to the handle we know that the knife went deep into the chest cavity you can see blood dripping down his shirt trouble breathing if the knife punctured a long air is going to keep going into the chest cavity and it's going to push the lung down and collapse it take a deep breath for me SAR extremely dtic we have a really dangerous situation get him on the stretch guys he needs to be in surgery I Mak can you stand up hang on man guys hey my man you got any medical problems huh diabetes and blood pressure if the knife puncture the lung air is going to keep going into the chest cavity it's going to push the lung down and collapse it get a line for he needs to be in surgery yeah C pant off did he hit you with anything else no okay in really good hands all right go stick in your hand one two three you got that I'll do that in route I'll fix all that I'm going need to takee this down the line down that's good sir please be really careful with this line okay it's the only thing keeping me alive right now he was extremely diaphoretic he was starting to lose Consciousness a little bit he's in bad shape but the crew had a really good scene time they got there quick they weren't on scene very long they got their line the vital got what they needed and then getting them to the hospital as quickly as possible to get them into surgery is you know ultimately what he needs it'll probably spend a few days in the hospital cuz he ain't going to die not with [Music] us [Music] City of New Orleans emergency line how can I help you got a woman Mon and she broke a bottle and look like p a knife on did you see the weapons no I'm up on the higher floor called the building security they talk about call the police somebody be dead by time the police come let me get a unit dispatched as soon as possible Alpha 3241 police dash is reporting an elderly man stab to the location you can attach me to adiv so this one that I'm headed to right now is a stabbing that's at a retirement home was called in by an NPD badge number which makes me believe that it's got to be accurate 6215 6215 you can show me in the area anytime I hear stabbing to the neck there could either be major bleeding or damage to your Airway that could be fatal in seconds so I get in the back of the truck just kind of prepping so that when they get this guy in we can start assessing and treating him pretty quickly what's going on hey wake up wake up keep your eyes open upake up up wake up wake up wake up one of the reasons we try to keep them talking is because if they start getting confused that's another early indicator that they've either lost too much blood or there's an airway issue going on that's preventing them from oxygenating appropriately hey man what's your name hold on you going out on me man why you not talking no more you had a whole bunch of say outside why you not talking no more I'm talking 18 AC I trying to help him from hurting that woman man J me my all right she J me already man okay we know baby don't J me no more going to start I we're going to start a quick IV it's com it'sing I know why cuz you you might have to go to surger you might need blood look that bad yeah be all right yeah can you put your hand right here can you put your hand right here can you hold that just push your hand against it just push against it yeah just push your hand against that okay don't stop talking to me Clos your eyes 6215 you can show 3241 I'm m to the trauma center with one patient and clear me the Medics are going to get him to the hospital and the teams are going to do what they do best I think he'll get some blood he'll probably immediately go to surgery and hopefully he has a good outcome all righty be safe be strong let's do this get that stretcher in here you're going to bleed to death thez the you they're not dead I can work with that
