I found this on the curb. It's just the top half of a china cabinet. These are the slots for the slats. I'm using 1/4" plywood to make the slats. I need 45 slats for each of the 3 doors, 135 in total. For the silhouette, I'll need to make a template. Now I'll trace it onto the slats. These edges need some smoothing. Let's wood-fill these holes. There are lights inside, and the cables go out the top. I'm going to reroute it to go out the back. Smoothing the cut with wood filler. Now I have to patch up the original hole. I'll use nature. Wood glued. Wood filler for the tiny gaps. Smooth~ Shellac to prevent bleed through. Painting in Black by Benjamin Moore. Light sanding between coats for a smooth finish. Light sanding between coats for a smooth finish. Black hot glue. Top coat (clear satin poly) Mixing with leftover paint to thin the poly. This makes the finish less white and cloudy. salvaged table leaf I'll use this to make the legs. Now the skirt Two coats of poly. I got this pull from HomeSense. Looked like a cork, which was just what I wanted. And we're... Done.
