(light music) - What's up, everybody? It's Enes here. Welcome to another episode. This week, we're in the historic
Hancock Park neighborhood here in Los Angeles, California and about to tour this recently remodeled English Tudor mansion right behind me. We're used to touring a lot of
modern and traditional homes here in Los Angeles, but
today, we're gonna tour a Tudor style home, which
we have never done before. Not only this home is located in the prestigious
neighborhood of Hancock Park, the inside of this home
was recently remodeled and we have stunning finishes, so I'm excited to show it to you guys. Now, stats on the house. We got eight bedrooms, six bathrooms, approximately 7,912 square
feet of interior space built on a 13,128 square foot lot and this property is currently
on the market for $7,495,000. As always, we will leave more
information about the property down on the description. And before we start our tour, I wanna thank the listing
agent, Sheri Bienstock, for allowing us to tour
her amazing listing. Now, let's begin our tour. (light music) All right, guys, before we start talking about the exterior of this
home, let's briefly talk about the neighborhood
this house is located in. We're in Hancock Park. It's a historic neighborhood and it's definitely one of
the most special neighborhoods located here in Los Angeles. We have a lot of historic homes, wide streets, beautiful
architecture, a lot of character. It's definitely one of
my favorite neighborhoods here in Los Angeles. Now, on the exterior, we have
this walkway taking us up to the front entry of the home. On the left-hand side, we
have the driveway taking us up to the carport, nicely gated. And the front lawn area, nice and green, plenty of landscaping. And the house is right in front of us. From here, we can get a really good look at the overall exterior
architecture of this Tudor mansion, brick facade complemented
with a stucco finish on the right-hand side. Another characteristic of a Tudor home, we have these vertical siding details complementing the stucco
section of the home, high pitched rooflines and lastly, I wanna show this detail. Mikey, let's get a close-up. We have these rocks sticking out throughout the exterior
facade of the home, giving it a lot of character. It's definitely a unique feature. I don't think we've ever seen
anything like this before. - [Mikey] Not at all. Let's check it out. - All right, guys. Let's take the walkway, go
inside and tour this home. All right, everyone,
here we are at the entry. I love this arched front
door, lot of character and Mikey, let's get a close-up. This is really cool. - [Mikey] I've always loved these. I've always wanted one of
these and one those doors that break, cut in half in the middle. You can open each section. - Dutch doors. - [Mikey] Dutch doors, yeah, really cool. - Now, this is definitely
one of the cool pieces and details of this house. Right here, we have the
entry double height ceilings, gorgeous chandelier off of the entry. And right in front of me, we
have the staircase taking us up to the second floor and three skylights
bringing natural light in. First room on my right-hand
side is the formal living room. Let's check it out. Great size room, it's front-facing. We have the cozy seating area right here. And this room is full of details. Let's start with the ceiling. Let's pan up to the ceiling for a second. We have all this trim work that
is complementing this room, not to mention all the
crown molding we have throughout the ceiling. And right behind me, we have
the wood burning fireplace clad with natural stone. And I really like the mantle work they did with all these details, adds a lot of character to this room. Another detail, these wall
sconces that lights up this room. Mikey, let's get a close-up. They have this marble backing
and it just looks very cool. In fact, the light fixtures
in this house throughout are gorgeous, so stay tuned for that. Another detail I wanna mention, so we have white painted
walls and the ceilings. It's nice and bright here. And I realize they have all
their hardwares on the windows in black and it contrasts beautifully. And there you go. These are really cool
traditional details of this home. And Mikey, I need you to pan up to the ceiling one more time. They even have their custom
AC vents painted in black to give it a little bit of contrast. - [Mikey] Yeah, really nice. - Overall great space. And we have these double doors right here opening up to this hallway. And as we go in, we have the
storage closet right here and it leads us to the office. Another good size room,
staged as an office, French doors opening up to the backyard, two casement windows. And right here, this could
count as one of the bedrooms because it has a full
bathroom, cement tile floors. We have the freestanding tub
right here, ceiling mount shower curtain rod. Again, some of these traditional details. And they have these
grey glazed subway tiles on the back wall, which
adds a lot of character. We have the unique vanity setup right here with natural stone
countertops and wall sconces. Now, let's go back to the hallway. Formal living room area right there. And this door opens up to your
family room, breakfast nook and the kitchen. Let's start with the family room. Nice and cozy, we have the
gas fireplace right there, more woodwork. Right behind that art, we have the wiring for your future TV, recessed
lights, built-in speakers, again contrasting AC
diffusers are also here. And I like the layering of
the crown molding we have on the ceiling. And right behind me, we have
the French doors opening up to the backyard. We'll get to that in a minute. And as we through the room, this is where we have the breakfast nook, lot of windows bringing natural light in and adding character, beautiful chandelier right in the center. And it's complementing
this section of the home. I really like this room specifically because we have a family
room, breakfast nook, kitchen all in one area. This kitchen is gorgeous
and I wanna talk about it. Before we do that, I do
not wanna miss this detail. We have a storage closet
right here in this hallway. And we have a powder room for this level, which is right here serving
the first floor of the home. Again, different style of
cement tiles on the floors, wainscotting on the
walls, unique vanity setup with brass legs, natural
stone countertops. Even the mirrors in this house is so cool. Now, let's talk about the kitchen. This is definitely my
favorite part of the home. Kitchen looks very elegant,
two-tone cabinetry, gorgeous countertops, as
well as the backsplash. I mean, it's definitely timeless design. Let's start with the island. We have the bar seating right here, extra storage on the bottom. And Mikey, can we get a close-up on these marble countertops? They look gorgeous. - [Mikey] Really nice. - All these details and the
lip design that is adding up to the traditional lines of this kitchen. Another detail, I do wanna
say it's book-matched, but it's not because it's a single slab. We don't even have a
seam right in the center. So this is a one single piece. We have the pendant lights
right above the island and focusing this side of the
kitchen, we have more storage. Again, they used the same
countertops also as a backsplash. Again, no seams. The back wall is a single piece. We have floating shelf designs
and right in the center, the focal point of this kitchen
is the La Cornue gas stove and right above, they also use
the La Cornue kitchen vent. So they all match. And again, we have the
gorgeous marble countertops, backsplash and the pot filler. - [Mikey] Yeah, it's really nice. We've probably on this channel
maybe toured 75, 80 homes since we started and we've
only seen about four of these. Are they rare, are they super expensive? How much do these typically run? - They're definitely not cheap. I'm pretty sure they
start around 7 to $8,000 and the standard model goes
all the way up to $50,000. But I also know they
have some custom pieces that you can order that
goes all the way up to half a million dollar, which is insane. - [Mikey] Yeah, that's crazy. - But they are like the timeless
Rolls Royce of gas stoves. What I mean by that is when you're building a traditional home or you're remodeling an older home, you wanna put a new gas stove, but yet you want that
traditional timeless look. And La Cornue is definitely a way to go. I mean, all the hardware,
knobs, everything, it's just like a timeless piece. - [Mikey] Yeah, and
it's really satisfying. Turn on one of those burners. - Yeah, let's show this. - [Mikey] They really
just blast out of there. I feel like you can boil
water in no time at all. - No time, I agree. So kitchen continues on this section. We have another sink, more cabinetry, back wall is also clad with marble. I appreciate that they
also went in all the way into the window sills. And right here, another
traditional detail. We rarely see this, but on
top of the base cabinets, they dropped in this
upper section right here from the countertops all
the way to the ceiling, again, extra storage. Last detail in this kitchen,
we have the door right here opening up to the driveway and the carport that we saw on the exterior of the home. Now, you might be wondering
where is the refrigerator? Well, if you follow this
hallway, it's right here, nicely paneled in with the same cabinetry. And right next to the refrigerator, we have the wine fridge, microwave above. And on the other side of the hallway, we have more extra storage. In fact, there's actually
a detail I wanna show. Mikey, can you come to
this side for a second? Let me get in front of you. So we have the kitchen
cabinets right there, 24 inches in depth, but right here, not only they are less in depth, probably around 18 to 20 inches, they're also a little bit lower. You wanna know why? - [Mikey] I do. - Because it's actually
a vanity base cabinet. So instead of using a kitchen
cabinet with those dimensions, they used a vanity
cabinets, which are lower and less in depth, which in return makes this hallway a
little bit more spacious. - [Mikey] Yeah, now that I look, I can see a different design
on the face of those cabinets in the kitchen. I guess they kinda cheated a little bit with the same handle finishes, right? - Yeah, they did. They did, but honestly,
they made the right choice. You wanna have your hallways
as spacious as possible. And right here, the same design
continues, same countertops, backsplash, a little bit more storage. And this hallway transitions into your formal dining room area. Another great spacious room,
gets ton of natural light. We have the ceiling medallion right in the center looking gorgeous and the chandelier right above
the formal dining room table. This table sits 10 people, but you can definitely put a
bigger table here if you like. We have more of these windows front-facing and the black hardware. Check it out. And I mean, we have such
a great weather right now. You could leave these open. - [Mikey] It's finally
getting cool in L.A. I can't wait. - Agreed, agreed. Overall, another great spacious room. And I love how each room in
this house is well-defined. Again, it's a traditional home so we have the formal dining room, formal
living room, family room all separated from each other, but house has a beautiful flow. And we're back at the entry. Staircase going up to the second floor and we have the staircase
right here taking us down to the basement level. In fact, let's go tour that next. (light music) All right, everyone, here we
are at the basement level. And right behind me,
we have the first room which is the laundry room, very spacious. We have the oversized tiles
on the floors, storage closet right here and this is
where your cabinetry starts. Plenty of storage on my left. And right here, we have a doggie
bath, which is very unique. They used the subway tiles
also for the doggie bath and we have these marble
sections right here. You have your sink, some open
shelving and same backsplash pretty much continues with
the marble countertops. Two washers, two dryers and in
case you guys are wondering, this little space right here, this is where you have your sump pump. Now, we have this center area right here, same hardwood floor continues
and these double doors open up to the wine cellar. Not only this is where
you store your wine, the space is big enough to
accommodate a couch, chair, pretty much a nice tasting area right here for you to sit down and
enjoy your glass of wine. Really like all this millwork
right here, plenty of storage. And it continues on this wall as well. Not to mention, we have a full
size wine fridge right here. Now, we have another
double door opening up and we're back at the center area. And right across, another
set of double doors open up to your basement level living
room area or screening room. Again, another spacious room. We have two exterior windows right here. And the reason they did this
glass section right here is to let all that natural light to travel through the entire basement,
which is a really smart move. And they wanted to keep
the character of the room same like the rest of the house. So they have the great
details here as well. Very spacious, we have
the built-in speakers, recessed lights. Another detail I wanna mention, I love when developers think
through their products. They have a plug and an
electrical cover plate right here for you to mount your future
projector when you need to. - [Mikey] Yeah, and this room
is already perfectly oriented towards having a theater
set up over there. - I agree. - [Mikey] All you need is a projector. - And that's pretty much
it for the basement level. I hope everybody's enjoying the video. If you do, make sure to give us a like. If you have any questions or input, as always, leave us a comment down below. Now, let's take the stairs,
go up to the second floor and check out all the bedrooms. (light music) All right, guys, we are back at the entry and let's go up to the second floor. And as we're going up,
we have three skylights right above us bringing natural light in, lot of arched details. And here we are at the
landing of the second floor. On this level, we have
four bedroom suites. We're gonna go to the left and tour the first one right here. Very spacious front-facing
bedroom with high ceilings, gets ton of natural light. Same hardwood floors
are also in this level. And right here, we have the first closet. And the developer of this
home left the closets empty so the end user can finish
it up however they like. Right here, we have another closet. This one even has a small
cube windows right here. And getting out, I mentioned front-facing, we have the windows right
here again with white walls, white window panels and black hardware
contrasting beautifully. Right here, we have the
bathroom for this bedroom. Subway tiles on the walls
continued throughout, freestanding tub, gorgeous
triangle mosaic marble floors. They look stunning and
we have the ceiling mount shower curtain rod right here
giving that timeless look, not to mention we have
the marble floors here. And right on the bottom
of the shampoo niche, they also used a piece of marble to give it a little bit more character. Pedestal sink right here and two windows bringing natural light into the bathroom. Now, let's go back out to the hallway and go into this second bedroom. As we're doing that, we need to mention these really cool light fixtures throughout the landing
of the second floor. I've never seen a light fixture like this. Definitely something different and unique. - [Mikey] Yeah, spooky season. - Spooky season, there we go. All right, I'm gonna go through here. Laundry room, washer, dryer, extra storage and right across, we have
a little bit more storage with marble countertops. And right across, bedroom number two. Currently staged as kids room. We have two single beds
right here, casement window in the back, another one right
here, same high ceilings. This is where we have the
closet and wrapping around, this is the bathroom for this bedroom. We have the vanity design
right here, marble countertops. I really like the mirror design as well. And we have the cement floor tiles in a really unique pattern,
built-in tub setup. And they used the same
marble to clad the top of it, not to mention... Mikey, can we get a close-up? They have the marble
detail also here as well. - [Mikey] Very nice. - There you go. Now, let's get back out to the hallway. We got a lot more to see. So that was the first bedroom,
this was the second bedroom. Right here, we have the master bedroom. We're gonna tour that last. And as we follow the hallway, this is where we have the fourth bedroom. Closet on my left, pretty spacious. And right here, another
front-facing bedroom. Again, gets ton of natural light. We have the bed situated right here facing towards the front of the home. And we have the same high
ceilings and the hardwood floors also in this bedroom. Now, going around, we have
the bathroom right here. Another unique vanity design,
again with marble countertops. Let's turn on the light. We have cement tiles on the
floors and the same tiles goes all the way into the walk-in
shower, another unique detail. Those marble countertops,
they used the same marble for the shower sill right
here, which is really unique. And you have glazed tiles on the walls. And they used the same marble
also right here at the bottom of the shampoo niche. Overall, another beautiful
timeless bathroom. As we are going back to the
hallway, what I really like about these bedrooms are
they're all very spacious, they all have their own bathrooms and they're nicely
separated from each other. As we're coming back to the hallway, we have these arch details,
giving a lot of character to the landing of the second floor. And the door behind me goes
into the master bedroom. Come on in. I really like this bedroom. And like I mentioned earlier,
this is the first time we're touring a Tudor style home. And all the architectural details
we saw throughout the home is reflected in this
master bedroom as well. We have the pitched roof right above us, giving it a lot of ceiling
height to this room. Beautiful chandelier,
plenty of space around me. Right here, we have the gas fireplace clad with natural stone. And we have all the
woodwork mantle around it. And right behind this art,
we actually have the wiring for your future TV. Bed is situated on this side. We have a bit of a seating area right here and all these casement windows
bringing natural light in. And you can actually get a peek of your backyard from here as well. As we're going this way, we
have wall sconces on the walls, more windows on this side. And right here, we have the master closet. Again, like the rest of the closets, developer left this closet
empty for the end user to finish it up however they like. - [Mikey] What would you
do with this closet, Enes? - Ooh, that's a good question. I like my closet designs a little open. So I'll probably do some sort
of a wood paneled back wall, lot of hangers, lot of open shelving. And since we have this skylight right here bringing natural light in,
I'd probably do some sort of an island design where you
can store your watches, socks, underwears, all that good stuff. What would you do? - [Mikey] Well, you kinda stole my idea with the island design. That skylight really calls for it. I think I would probably try
to expand my watch collection and put a little see-through
island there as well. - I agree, I mean, that
skylight definitely calls for an island design right in the center. Now, right across, let's talk
about the master bathroom. It's gorgeous. It's very spacious, too. Before we start there, let's go this way. Let me turn on the light. This is where we have the water closet, fully clad with marble. And I mean, look at the
floors for a second. Let's just appreciate all
this marble in this bathroom with the countertops,
flooring and all that. It's gorgeous, it's spacious. We have the pitched
roof also here as well, so ceiling height is not an issue. Skylights bringing natural
light in, gorgeous chandelier. Before I commit to this
section, let's go this way. Walk-in shower all clad with marble. We have timeless cool fixtures right here, your shower head, your hand held design. It's nicely sloped. And you know, I say this
all the time, but Mikey, I want you to show the floor for a second. Can you actually see the slope? You have this straight line
right here, but if you look at the floors, the tile at
the end is the biggest piece because you have that
beautiful slope right there going to the drain. - [Mikey] It's kinda hard
to make out on the camera, but it is definitely there. If y'all see that bottom tile. - There you go. And right behind me, same details. They used the countertops as
the shower niche bottom here, ceiling's all clad with marble, just gorgeous walk-in shower. And right behind me, we
have a double vanity setup. I guess they're both the same. We have these traditional
details like the kickouts that we see on more traditional
homes, marble countertops, this oversized sink design
right here, which is very unique and it's very functional also. I love the chrome fixtures. Mirrors throughout the
house is also very unique. I just realized, we don't
even have the lights on. There you go, we have
those industrial lights and right behind me,
this freestanding tub. It's a statement piece for
sure, perfectly positioned looking towards the backyard. And we have chrome tub filler right here. Overall gorgeous bathroom. And again, bathrooms in this house, the finishes really complement each other. And that's pretty much it
for the master bedroom. Now, why don't we go to the first floor, open up all those French
doors and tour the backyard. (light music) All right, everyone, let's
talk about this backyard. We got a lot of grounds to cover. I'm gonna start this way. Right here, we have the
French doors from the office opening up to this covered patio section, bit of an outdoor dining area. And right next to it, we have
this outdoor barbecue setup right here with your
KitchenAid gas barbecue and natural stone countertops. As we follow the decking,
these are the French doors opening up from the family room and we have more outdoor
seating on this side. Now, I wanna take this stone walkway and go to the other end of this backyard. As you guys can see,
backyard is very spacious. We have the trees hedging
the entire property, so it's nice and private. We have real grass. And from here, we're pretty
much at the end of the backyard where we can see the pool closer. Nice simple plaster, stone coping. It's a good size pool as well. We have the steps on the other side complementing this backyard. And from here, we can actually
get a really good scale of the overall backyard and
the architecture of this home. Like I mentioned at the
beginning of the video, this house has an English
Tudor architecture and we can see those characteristics
even more on this side. Nice vertical siding detail,
stucco finish on the exterior and those high pitch
rooflines is another indicator of the architecture of this home. Now, we have the two-story
ADU guest house right here. You can actually access it from
the French doors right here. Instead, we're gonna
take this walkway back and open the gate right here. We can go through this gate
and access to the driveway. Let me hold the door for you guys. - [Mikey] Well, thank you. - Well, this is the driveway. And that's the carport that we mentioned at the beginning of the video. And this is the exterior door
that opens up from the kitchen where you can access to your driveway. There's plenty of space right here. I would say you can probably
park 12 to 14 cars here if you need to. Another detail I like about the driveway is that they did a nice
expansion joints throughout. I wanna give credit to the
builder for thinking ahead and putting these expansion joints because these expansion
joints will prevent cracking of the driveway in the future. Now, as I'm trying to access
the garage door opener, we have two single doors
right with nice accessories. And let's open them up
and tour the garage. Now, we have two-car
garage space right here, nice ceiling heights,
vents for extra ventilation and this is where we can
access to the guest house. So let's go inside. All right, everyone, now
we are at the landing of the guest house. Right here, we have a full
bathroom with a walk-in shower and a pedestal sink,
essentially your pool bathroom. And we have the French
doors right here opening up from the backyard straight to here. Now, let's take these stairs
and go to the guest house. All right, here we are
at the second floor. Right here, we have the
closet for this room. And as we go in, it's a very
spacious open guest suite. First of all, crazy
ceiling heights right here and a beautiful chandelier
right in the center. - [Mikey] Yeah, it's really nice. The ceiling is... Is there any practical purpose to this? It looks pretty cool, but... - Well, since it's a
Tudor, we have all those really cool unique
rooflines on the exterior and they modernize it by
pushing the ceiling up. And that's what you're pretty
much seeing right here. Again, lot of character, lot of unique details in this house. And we have all these windows
bringing natural light in, old casement design, seating area and a big table setup right here. This is really cool, a small kitchenette, small size fridge. You get a little bit of countertop space with a sink right here
and a small gas range complementing depending
on how you use this space. Going this way, we have the
bathroom for the guest house, for the ADU, nice vanity
setup, same kind of finishes, marble countertops. We have the mosaic tiles on
the floors going all the way into the walk-in shower. Hexagonal tiles on the walls. In fact, even right here,
they followed the roofline with the tile design. Overall, I really like this guest house because it really complements the house. We're able to use it as a guest house or as an office space. You have a small kitchenette,
you have all this volume. You can do a lot with it. Now, we pretty much toured
every part of this home, but why don't we fast
forward few more hours, so we can see this property at dusk. And after that, I will share
my final thoughts on this house with you guys. (light music) All right, guys, that's
a wrap for the video. I personally love this house
and it's almost hard to believe that this house was built in 1924 because after this renovation, they brought the house
to today's standards. I love Hancock Park. It's definitely one of my
favorite neighborhoods here in Los Angeles. A lot of history and
character in this neighborhood and many architecturally
significant homes. What's great about this
home is that it comes with a two-story guest house,
private backyard, your pool and three levels of interior living space. I mean, that's pretty much all you need. On the interior, my
favorite part of the home is the kitchen. I love the two-tone
cabinetry, timeless design, marbles they used throughout and not to mention the La Cornue range which is the focal point of this kitchen. Also, I wanna congratulate the developers for protecting the historical
integrity of this home, but yet updating the
exterior and the interior of this home beautifully
with timeless finishes. It's been an amazing day touring this home and sharing it with all of you. And for that, I wanna
thank the listing agent, Sheri Bienstock, for allowing us to tour her amazing listing. We will leave more information
about the property also down in the description. And I hope everybody enjoyed the video. If you did, make sure to give us a like. If you have any questions or input, always leave us a comment down below. And if you haven't already, make sure to subscribe to our channel. Thanks for watching and
we'll see you guys next week. (light music)
