[Music] well good evening and welcome to touch point tuesday i'll listen do me a favor and uh go ahead and share this let me get my stuff together but i'm back in the studio for the first time it seemed like in forever going to share with as many people as you can um hey dolores miss you i'm looking in the comments send me some greetings in the comments i haven't seen like i haven't seen you in forever uh so normally this is my spot i mean this is where i do what i do and and i've been we've been ripping and writing taking care of business but we're back in here and tonight i want to talk to you about confidence and we've been talking about confidence we're going to talk about confidence this month um and actually as far into october as we can what i want to make sure in this series is that we understand who we are and the enemy uses up quite a bit of different things to change us and to to get us to abandon who god has called us to be so i'm not gonna get started i want you good school and start sharing just share share let's get up i'll go to share this and while you're doing that i'll be hanging out with you hey drop me some comments let me see what's going on hey john how you doing i see you all uh georgette in the house and listen um also if you were there on sunday um and you and the word impacted you do me a favor and put in the comments why we while we waiting people come in um what what's one significant thing that really hit you on sunday from that message i said a lot of things um my heart was to actually go back over some of this stuff tonight uh and i i want to do that if my software will let me so you know when i go different places i have different computers and this computer doesn't remember anything i said to you last week uh it didn't come i'm looking for my outline it's not there but i have something for you this week but go to put in the comments one thing you learn there's one thing that that really stood out to you because because i want to know i want to know what that is what stood out to you sunday how did god speak to you uh we're dealing with this topic of being the confident christian and being confident is something i believe that it's a choice you have to make it's a decision that you have to make and so um i think i've given you we've got about a couple more minutes self-efficacy over the other self-help stuff yes and let me tell you something about self-efficacy while we're talking about that and and uh keep putting efficacy in the comments so people can see how to spell it um i think it's the game changer because my confidence has to be in god but i have to be confident that what god has given me is enough who god has made me is enough that doesn't mean i'm not responsible for developing into building what i'm giving but it means that i have enough and so but before we even get started i want to say this just came a heart you have enough in you right now to go back to school but also you have enough to start the business and you have enough to launch out on your own and and be careful when the enemy starts using things to try to destroy your confidence like someone telling you who you're not and and or some some or one is telling you all they can say to you is what you have done wrong that's the enemy attacking your confidence um i'm going through uh miss miss plays confidence is detrimental to my future that's a good com uh uh point on each anitra if you don't pray according to god's will he yes indeed if you don't pray according to god's will he will not hear you and when i listen the sunday that i teach on this part of here of um confidence i just you can't you can't afford to be online you need to be in the building to get this because we're going to talk a lot about prayer and lots and some of the prayer myths we're going to slay many sacred cows that they're going to line up and just kill them one by one um if you're trying to recover your confidence the worst place to look is to yourself and that is true let me tell you something no one can let you down like you it's a part of the journey it's a part of the way you process the part of the way you see failure and success um neil says one thing i learned is it's not that god answers prayer with no maybe or not yet the real question is whether or not god hears you and that is true and and of course and you know what david said and i'm gonna give you give away a little bit of the teaching of prayer david said if i regard iniquity in my heart the lord will not hear me here's what he said he didn't say the lord would answer he said if i regard iniquity in my heart the lord and i hear me so uh go ahead i want you to keep sharing um while we're going to tonight's lesson so father i love you tonight and i praise you for all the people that's only whose hearts are hungry to hear the word of god father feed us feed us by your spirit and i pray tonight that what we receive would cause us to go one step closer to push us further into your plan your purpose for our lives that in no way god shape or form we will fail we will fail to fulfill our purpose and destiny in the earth we thank you we praise you in jesus name amen all right um yes so i'm still looking at your comments uh [Music] somebody said the topic alone blessed me and then the teaching was so profound well thank you um someone detoxing from old teachings and saying can't say god doesn't speak to me if i don't open his word okay excellent so i'm reading your comments and and they're blessing me so what i want to do is i want to jump into tonight's lesson i hope you're taking good notes and again if you just came on please share if you came on just going to share i need actually i'm telling you shane i haven't shared so i'm there you go i just shared to my page and so i want to invite more people in so what i want to do tonight is um there are several outlines that i have on this topic and what i've been doing is kind of sharing with you um from places i believe will speak to you the most and there's a lot of scripture there is uh uh just a mountain of scriptural evidence that points to the fact that if my confidence is not first in god then any confidence that i have is actually self-made and it can crumble at the worst possible time confidence the enemy understands that we are designed by god to to first know who we are we have to you have to know who you are and you have to understand why god asks certain things of you so i want to begin i want to start here it's not scripted at all but i want to mention this it is important to you and to me that we know how to process temptations to sin listen to this i want you to get this every temptation to sin is an invitation to compromise who i am it's it's an identity attack the enemy identity attacks my identity by inviting me to misbehave later on in this lesson i i want to show i want to share with you that um this invitation to misbehave to do the wrong thing literally puts me in a position where i disconnect from god and the first thing you have to understand about confidence is my confidence in life my confidence in in myself my confidence in others begins with god if i don't have confidence in god then there's no way i'm living by faith i'm gonna talk we're gonna cover that in a second as well i have to know that everything about my confidence begins with god it's impossible you say well i know people who are not saying that they have great confidence do not confuse confidence with ambition or confidence with arrogance or confidence with with swag or or anything else confidence is different confidence requires that i understand listen to this confidence requires that i understand that god will build the thing i need while i'm in motion going towards it confidence understands that god will turn a river into a desert and turn a desert into a river just for me confidence is a love word when it comes to the lord confidence is a part of god's love an expression of god's love for me i'm confident in him because i believe he is who he says he is okay so i want to read some scriptures to you real quick just a bunch of scriptures um my confidence is rooted in the unchanging and faith faithful nature of god what it means is i understand that god cannot tell a lie i understand that god will not say something if it's not true i understand that the promises of god are the most valuable things in the kingdom so i want i want to give you a bunch of my fact i'm going to share this real quick because i want to give you a bunch of scripture i want to show you something and this is just one of the outlines let me see can i get to it um a bunch of scriptures check out this outline so i have this outline that and there's just nothing there's nothing on this outline but but um scriptures i want to show you this let me see can i get it bigger so you can see it better on your screen all right so check this out this is six pages of nothing but scriptures okay and what the scriptures what the scriptures are designed to do i'm gonna read a couple to you but did i did this to for myself so i can go through just read through these scriptures about what confidence really means let me let me make a change right quick okay so let's go let's go up here for the first part confidence in god in his unchanging and faithful nature this is from the dictionary of bible themes okay number 23-19 god is not a man so he does not lie god does not lie remember a part of my confidence is in the predictability of a person the reason uh the confidence is trusting with conviction when we talk about being confident we're talking about having unwavering uh on bending trust i trust god impeccably now here's the challenge there there are no human beings in the earth that i could trust like that without building a relationship of trust and we both have to have a mutual understanding of what trust is okay now so the bible says god is not a man that he does not lie why is that significant it means that it makes him it makes him consistent um it it makes him predictable if he doesn't lie then i know he's going to say he's going to do rather what he says here's what it says he's not human so he does not change his mind in other words when he said he's going to do something he's going to do it has he ever spoken and failed to act has he ever promised says the word has he ever promised and not carried it through that's the first scripture god is not a man that he should like so i can have confidence in god if god says he's going to do something then i could act with full assurance that god is going to do what he said he's going to do here's here's paul writing to titus in titus chapter 1 verses one and two this letter is from paul a slave of god an apostle of jesus christ i have been sent to proclaim faith to those god has chosen and to teach them to know the truth that shows them how to live godly life look at verse two this truth gives them confidence watch this this truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life which god who does not lie promised them before the world began so paul goes right for the juggler hezel paul says paul says that i'm sent to preach to people and to preach the truth of god and to preach the person of god so that they so listen the truth that i preach can give them confidence that they have eternal life listen to this you say well i want i'm talking about pastors talk to us about confidence now so we can live by it understand something how do you know that when you die you're going to heaven see we live in a generation where everybody that died seemed like oh whoa well they were going to heaven rest in heaven rest in peace how do you know according to the bible the majority of people who leave this earth don't go to heaven that's the scripture says so how do you know you're going to heaven the bible says watch as paul said i've been sent to preach the gospel and to preach the truth he says this truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life how can you have that kind of confidence because you trust god who can't lie i trust god who does not lie so i know i know that what god says concerning jesus christ i accept jesus christ as my lord and savior i walk with jesus christ he takes my place he answers for me he stands for me god does not like he promised before the world began that's the way it is i have confidence look at first time 15 29 and he who is the glory of israel will not lie here he nor will he change his mind for he is not human that he should change his mind wait a minute god doesn't change his mind what he's saying is this is that god will not put you in a position god will not put you in a position where he speaks a word you move on it and he decides while you while you're doing what he told you to do i changed my mind i'm not going to do that no once you receive the promise of god once you accept what god said he's going to do he is going to do it he's just coming on go to share this god is going to do what he said he's going to do here's another scripture psalm 33 11 but the lord's plans stand firm forever his intentions what god intends to do can never be shaken what are you doing pastor i'm building your confidence in god look at psalm 102. but you are always the same you will live forever the children of your people will live in security here's a security is a confidence word remember we said the opposite of confidence is insecurity insecurity is the opposite of confidence so here's what it says it says but you are always the same speaking of the lord you will live forever the children of your people will live in security their children's children will thrive in your presence my connection to god gives me a security it makes me secure and once i'm secure i have confidence confidence is birthed out of my relationship god here's another scriptures proverbs 3 25 26 you need not be afraid of sudden disaster or destruction that comes upon the wicked for the lord is your security he will keep your foot from being caught in a trap here's what it says it says you can be confident in god because regardless of what the enemy does and how things go and how things are looking he said god is going to be your security he is he is the one that protects you he's your fence like we said on sunday you'll wrap around shield he will keep your foot from being caught in the trap the trap will be set it may spring but your foot won't be caught in it and if watch this no matter what happens it'll god shall turn it for good and i can go through all these scriptures and show you i can go through all the scriptures and show you that god is a god that can be trusted all right so i want to move on tonight and talk to you on this piece about confidence i want to talk to you about specifically being confident or respecting who you were made to be who god made you to be respecting who god made you to be okay one of the biggest things i've seen is or especially in these then this day and age is that there is like in high school there was always a cool group i don't know what you call them in your high school but there's a group of people that everybody wanted to be in this clique because they were the cool clique they they it seemed like they are they were parented different their parents would let them do things they have stuff they they were they were doing stuff like they were grown had all this freedom and you want to be that person and when i was in high school i remember um wanted to be a part of a certain group because they just seemed to to um to have a certain favor about them but in order to be who they were i had to lose who i was and so here i was a part of this group and for for the sake of acceptance i had to change my identity to be who they were because what they were offering seemed to be better than what i was living the enemy will use this same high school tactic against you he will get you'll be so inundated and involved and consumed with who another person is that you'll forget who you are it happens in relationships you run into someone um and you you enter a relationship maybe a romantic relationship or whatever and all of a sudden you lose yourself in this person because you're so taken with who they are that you lose respect for who god made you to be or it may be it may be that um that you you just you can never um you never liked yourself you maybe so you look in the mirror whatever it is you just never like yourself whatever reason you're being critical or maybe you're criticized and so you you devalue who you are and as a result of that but now here you are in life and you can never find your place about or what you're called to do because you just don't like you we need to speak to that tonight i want to take some a time i want to spend some time talking about your identity now reputation is not identity you uh your your reputation is what people think about you what people say about you uh people can say whatever they want to about you but if you know who you are and your identity remains intact what they think what they say about you can't change anything about you understand this so reputation is what the the general consensus is about who you are um character is the imprint that's made upon your your soul or your spirit in other words its character speaks of who you really are in a season now according to the book of romans chapter five verses one through five and many other scriptures god is spending your life developing your character when we talk about character it involves your heart character involves the way you think character involves your or what assignments you're trusted with here what i'm saying when we speak of character we're talking about the emotional stability to function on a certain level listen to what i said when we speak of character we speak about the mental mental acumen emotional stability or um the maturity to be able to function within a certain realm it doesn't mean you're perfect to have character is not perfection it just means that mentally i think a certain way emotionally i respond a certain way and as far as maturity is concerned i'm i'm equal to the task or greater okay this is critical for you to understand because what would happen is many times we get our confidence from our reputation and put this in the put this in a comment many times we depend on our reputation for our confidence that is the worst thing you can do here's why reputation is the is this is the weakest form of the weakest foundation rather to build confidence in because people's perspective of you can change in a moment what your your reputation is only as good as the last thing you accomplish your reputation is only as good as a la as as a matter of fact your reputation depends on who's telling the story you get it you could be anything to anyone you don't even know people say about you character is different character is is who is who i'm gradually becoming in my mind in my heart you got it as a person character my confidence has to be in god and watch this now once i know who i am in christ once i know who i am becoming once i know who he's making me to be watches now i could be confident that that the journey continues regardless of what happened even if you fail even if you go through a season that's not your best season in life you can still be confident of who you be who you're gonna become paul said in philippians chapter one here's what he said he said being confident of this very thing that he who began a good working in you will perform it to the day of christ um there is a constant growing of building that god is doing okay all right okay now um what are y'all talking about these comments man all right so so i want to move forward for a minute and i want to make i want to take you to uh my second i want to just talk to you about respecting who you are respect that's i want to work from that for a moment um respecting who you are um if you don't respect who you are what's going to happen is people make you into who they want you to be so i wanna pick up here in jeremiah chapter one jeremiah chapter one verses four and five and please follow me right quick i wanna i wanna point something out to you here's where this begins it says this the lord gave me this message many of you know the scripture from the king james but i'm quoting from the new living translation the lord gave me this message here's what god says i knew you before i formed you in the belly in your mother's room rather but you were born before you were born rather i set you apart and i appointed you as a prophet to the nation so here's what we have right here and we i love to use the scripture you've heard the scripture taught on many times but i want to use this as a basis because i want to show you exactly how it works for you okay the lord gave me this message of the prophet saying god says i knew you before i formed you i knew you before i formed you the word form is critical it will come up again before i formed you in your mother's womb before you were embryo before you were seedling god says i knew you before you were born and he said i set you apart the word sanctified means to be placed in the word sanctified means to be set apart or set aside to do a specific thing put the definition to comment the word sanctified means to be set apart to be set apart to do a specific thing sanctify it to be given a specific purpose so when the bible talks and watches and sanctification is a holy word but it's a part of the word family uh hagiasmus in the new testament speaking of holiness so watch this i'm about to help you it's impossible for you to live a holy life if you do not honor the fact that god has set you apart i set you apart as what the lord says let me let me put that i set you apart i in other words holiness is the difference that's the the root of the word holiness sanctified saint um sanctuary these words mean to be set apart to that which is holy it should be to be different when the lord he said before you were born listen to this when he says i set you apart i sanctified you said i made you different. before before i formed you in your mother's womb before you were born i made you different also he said i appointed you i appointed you what does a point means it means i ordained you or i set you in a particular order and in in jeremiah's case he said i have set you in a prophetic order now jeremiah was a prophet indeed here's my question to you do you know that god set you apart so when i was a young boy my father looked at me one day and and asked me what i wanted to be i said i want to be a musician my father looked at me and he said why and he said you'll either be a doctor a lawyer or a minister my father looked at me and said that when i was a young boy well what what was he aspiring to greatness was he trying to live vicariously through me maybe but here's why here's what i rather believe i rather believe that my father saw something in me that god showed him god showed him um my difference or my set apartness and god showed him where i was what i was appointed to now how did pastor how did you figure out which one it was well i couldn't be a doctor and for those of you who who haven't heard us before i went to pre i went when i first started college i took pre-med matter of fact a lot of my word studies came from medical terminology when i was taking medical criminology is when i fell in love with words okay but when i got to the emt phase of my training i realized i couldn't handle blood so being a doctor was out i did not want to be a lawyer because i was to be honest with you i was always on the wrong side of the law to be honest with you so i didn't want to and when i got saved when i came to the lord it was not my intention to stand in front of people and say anything to anyone because i'm an introvert and it just wasn't my thing but that's what god set me aside to and that's who i became okay now look at this who you are created to be is significant let me finish that statement it's significant and here's why jeremiah was created to be a prophet to the nations right we see that but did you know that in his lifetime in his in jeremiah's lifetime he only left jerusalem three times so it is possible watch this now it's possible that you could be called to the nations and never leave your home [Laughter] the problem with a lot of us the problem with a lot of us is we think that we're not here um or are you a prophet to the nation you think you're gonna be traveling to the nations jeremiah never went to another listen jeremiah went to egypt i recall him going to egypt i require i mean i remember him at some point visiting babylon i'm not even sure he lived there but you need to understand something he he was called to the nations but he never went there but what we do know is his books jeremiah and lamentation have been read all around the world so because god says i've called your prophet to the nations maybe it's important to go back to god and say what does that mean i believe for a lot of us for a lot of us we don't take enough time we don't spend enough time with the one who designed us we don't spend enough time with the one who created us and we are so attracted to other people and other things that we miss that the one person that i need to get to know to know who i am is god watch this who you are made to be was determined by god before he sent you to the earth everything about you is significant and holy to the lord in other words god makes a lot of vessels right but you are special put in the comments for me i am special to the lord put in the comments i am special to the lord i am special to the lord put in the comments i am special to the lord okay i am special what does it mean i'm special to the lord it means that god has made you for a specific thing special specific god made for a specific thing what you got to understand is regardless of the flow of of of popularity of the flow of what's in vogue or what people are saying um their preference is you can't keep changing being a chameleon to always be in the flow understand what i'm saying your gift who you are is for a certain season a certain people a certain in other words god has set your side to do what he wants you to do you have to be good with that you have to be clear that god will always have you relevant to somebody you can't keep changing who you are to become what they want because if you put your identity in people's hands listen i'm about to say they will write you into this script where necessary you've heard me say this before they will write you into the script where necessary and they will listen and they will they have no problem killing you off in season one they don't mind killing you of why you're not relevant to this story you're just an extra you're just a stand-in okay so i got to know that i'm i'm significant i'm special to god watch this everything about you is holy to the lord look at this your nationality your race your gender let me talk about jennifer min your family of origin the family you are born to is important to the lord they're part of god's plan for you they are part of god's plan for you okay let me get this off here there you go now let me go back to gender so we live in a time in major gender confusion and and we're teaching children you could choose um based on how you feel you can choose who you want to be or what gender you want to be here's the problem with that and i want to help you out with this the problem with that is if god sent you to the earth and your purpose specifies a male or specifies a female you cannot fulfill that same purpose watch this you can't fulfill that purpose choosing to be something else the enemy understands that the bible calls it leaving your first estate leaving your first estate where does that come from well satan left his first estate as as a covering cherub he was designed to be submitted to god and to worship god but somewhere along the line satan felt he felt that that he should be worshipped because of his of his perfection the perfection that god put in him and he left his first estate and instead of serving god he tried to usurp god's position and god threw him out of heaven he left his first estate here's what i want you to understand um he is tempting people now and and and doing all kinds of wicked or manipulative things with people's souls to get people to want to be what they want created to be and one of the areas he attacks is this area of gender because there's no there's no faster way to derail you from fulfilling your purpose than to get you to pro to be something else or someone else because i will say something to you god can only anoint perfect favor and transform the real you god can only anoint god can only perfect mature ordain the real you if you're trying to be some god is not obligated to participate in your deception to participate in your offense to participate in your distraction god will try to draw you back he will send messengers and messages to you but just be careful with this you say pastor you know what i feel what you feel is real but it's wrong what you feel is real but it's not right you got listen and you have to give yourself permission to say put that in the comments what i feel is real but it's not right put it in the comments now and in no way now understand i'm teaching the bible somebody said well this is hate speech it is not his speech listen i love you god loves you and and the struggle is real for all of us struggle is real god in no way god in no way minimizes or or um it wants to in at this juncture punish you for your struggle but you have to understand the enemy is trying to trick you into something that's not yours okay let's go a step further remember this your nationality your race your gender your family of origin um your specific gifting all these things are part of god's plan for you god's purpose for you look at this in isaiah 44. i want to i want you to point this out it says but now here let me turns the different comments college you can see it he says this but not here or jacob my servant israel whom i've chosen okay they'll say the lord who made you and who formed you so i wanna i wonder those words to stick out because we'll come back to them real quick notice something remember i told you in jeremiah the god says before before i formed you in the womb i know you i want to show you something god speaks now remember there are three names in this verse i'm gonna read the verse again then i'm gonna point them out but now here or jacob my servant is through whom i have chosen thus saith the lord who made you who formed you from the womb and will help you he says fear not o jacob my servant jeshurun or who or whom i've chosen now you say wait a minute who is he talking to he's talking to three people he's literally he's literally talking to one person call them three names so let's talk about to tell you god is speaking to israel but he has three names for them because he understands them in three different ways but listen to me you whom god has called and pastor i thought you teach on confidence yes but my confident lesson is respecting who you were made to be not who you're formed to be who you are mate to because this is important here's what here's god's thing god calls israel by these three names in this verse this is significant he calls him by three names then he look watches he calls them he says jacob is born okay or jacob is born israel is formed okay jacob is god's servant israel is god's chosen okay look here's the word chosen right here and then he uses it again down here okay keep keep following the outline so jacob is the servant we see that israel is the chosen one okay um god god makes israel but he forms jacob okay i know i know what these are these are levels of identification with god levels of of identification the more we yield to who we are and become confident in our relationship with god it's the more we grow that's what i want to add there the more we grow and become you're getting a chance to me finish the outline who we are designed to be you got that let me let me i want you to take a good look at this okay so and this is yeah something about this number two is off but i'm gonna correct it but this is the point i'm making right here is this is that jacob is jacob is born that's who israel's birth name was jacob subplanter um the one who grabbed his brother's heel at birth the one who stole the birthright the one who deceived his father the one he that's jacob israel is who he came after he wrestles with god but so god says israel god says i formed israel you you're going to be born one thing but i'm going to make you into something else this is critical now let look at this but jeshurun how have you ever heard the name jeshurun this name that he calls him is a symbolic name for israel and it describes israel ideal character or israel in a perfected state from time to time god called israel jeshiran and the and the word jeshua means the upright one of the one who goes straight along the way the one who becomes who i want him to be and so watch this in each one of us there's a there's a jacob who was born in my in my flawed state in in my carnality and in my in my lack of identity and not knowing who i am and then god uses this this state of of of the process of my life and he's shaping me with his hand he's making me into something else watch this and as i stay connected to him i'm building an identity with him i'm having confidence in him the more i have confidence in him the more he shapes me i learn to respect who i'm becoming watch this i learned to respect that at any given time i could revert back to to jacob and mess up and i have to stay with god and if i don't put value and emphasis on my relationship with god i'll find myself in a struggle and some of you right now in this struggle where you where your israel is being challenged by your jacob your israel's being challenged by your jacob and jacob wants to be and jacob wants to be seen he wants to be he wants a voice he wants to be heard but israel is who god is making into um so you can fulfill purpose but god calls you jeshuran jeshua means why are you in the process of struggle between your your of jacob and your israel god calls you jeshurun which means god sees you as perfected in christ that's who you have to see yourself as the one perfected in christ i got to see myself as a person watches now who although i'm in struggle i have to identify with who god has called me to be did i just i mean talk to me in the comments i want to know what are y'all getting this because i'm gonna tell you what i'm gonna tell you what's funny people people will talk about you know you're not this and you're not that all the while what's what i'm describing is not unique to you or to me what i'm describing is what every believer goes through and not only every believer even the person who doesn't know the lord will go through seasons of of being different people now i'm gonna show you this this is important because this point right here deals with your confidence if the enemy the the enemy attacks your confidence with a thing called shame if he can get you to or to buy into the of the shame game then he actually will neutralize you without even trying let me show you something with you and many of you have heard this when you do something wrong you should feel guilt guilt said i did wrong and when i go to the lord watch this now all things be equal i understand the scripture let me take this off share for a minute when i go to the lord and i say i said lord you know what i did something wrong god will forgive me of what i did wrong and i'm still in god's eyes just iran or israel in being formed by god this is important here's watch this i'll be made by god i gotta differentiate one is formed in the womb the other one is made by the hand of god gesheron is what god sees me to be in christ okay so understand this if i said that i've done something wrong then there's guilt and then god could forgive me of the guilt get this but when i'm in shame instead of saying i did something wrong i start saying i am something wrong i i don't say i messed up i say i am messed up and when and when your identity is attacked with shame the first thing you lose is confidence because many times what happens is that people think that we begin to believe that the whole world sees us the way we've been made to see ourselves and so we won't go forth to be who god has called the remember this the king james says faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen but here it says faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen it gives us here's another confident word it gives us assurance about things we cannot see now why is this significant it's significant because the bible says that just shall live by faith you and and myself you and me we live by faith i live by faith watch this faith where the bible says faith is not faith is is the substance the word is confidence here it translates to confidence so the abc's of faith the abc's of faith um i got this definition years ago it's action based in belief and sustained by confidence put that in the comments for me action based in belief i'm now up now this is this is we about watch this i got to have confidence that is why in hebrews chapter 10 it says cast that away therefore your confidence which has um um great reward okay it says my reward the outcome is tied to my confidence watch this i'm confident in what i'm doing because of what i believe about god myself and my assignment these three right here let's talk about this right here god myself and my assignment my confidence i'm confident what i'm doing so i long try to do something i'm confident because watch this i'm confident because um i believe about what i believe about god myself and my assignment god i believe that god is not a man that he should lie listen to this statement god is obligated matter of fact let me make some notes what i'm teaching you god is obligated to reveal his will to me that right there god is obligated to reveal his will to me in other words i don't have to go chasing down i don't know what the will of god is listen the foundation of the will of god somebody asked me this at the church on sunday say pastor what do you how do you find the will of god the will of god is in the word of god the will of god is the word of god and the quickest way the fastest way to become um intimately involved and intimately aware of the will of god is to study jesus in the gospels matthew mark luke and john and even in the book of acts look at how jesus operates why do you say that because the bible says that jesus is god's last statement to us the last thing the most important thing that god ever said to humankind he said it in the life of jesus jesus christ is is the is the word of god he is the expression of god he's the entire logos not just the word but the idea the philosophy the understanding i can look at god and see what i can look at jesus rather and see what god wants the bible says i could see god in the face of jesus and what he's doing okay so watch this god is obligated to reveal his will to me okay so i'm confident in what i'm doing because of what i believe about god he's uh and then another thing about god is that he i said earlier he cannot lie let me explain to you what that means um some places they say he will not lie but it's he cannot it's impossible when listen what the bible says it's impossible for god to lie what does that mean the word impossible is the greek word ardunatos a-d-u-n-8 is i do nattos in the greek ardunatos means not having the power of the ability to do something it's not that god won't lie is he can't it's he's incapable um here's why god the bible says that the earth was was formless it was void it was dark and the spirit of god move upon the face of the water and god says light be or let me put it let me put it for terms god says there is light and and you say well there was no light god lied he didn't lie because whatever he says comes to pass that's the thing he's impart it's impossible for him to lie because his words create right human kind could lie because what a lie is is a disconnection between the heart and the mouth from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks that's how we design from the from what my mouth is designed to to actually um speak out what's in my heart i only know a person's heart by their mouth but what they're saying watch this if i try to change that if i try to to say something different for us in my heart the bible calls it deception or a lie so man can lie god cannot lie it's impossible for him to lie okay so i have confidence in god because he cannot tell a lie and he has to reveal his will to me god i am not smart enough to figure out the will of god i'm not smart enough you said well god gave me a dream to show me something whenever god gives you a dream or prophecy he's telling he's giving you something to come to him he what god is actually doing is starting a conversation this is what i'm saying when when god gives you a prophetic dream a vision whatever he's starting a conversation with you it's not the will of god that someone gives you a prophetic word or you have a dream and you just get up and start doing stuff no god wants you to come to him and talk to him he wants you to talk to him he he stu he start he start a conversation now talk back to him and start this thing so he can reveal to you what he wants you to do okay so i have confidence in what i'm doing because of what i believe about god number two what i believe about myself i believe watch this now that i am enough i believe that what god has put in me in seat form is enough to get started watch us now i believe that god has given me beginning grace beginning grace what is what's beginning grace is that god has given me enough to start with as i start to go forward watch his action based in belief sustain my confidence as i begin to act based on what i believe the psalmist said i believe therefore i've spoken paul said um as it's written we believe also and therefore we speak so belief is the motivation of what i do it's what it's based on what i believe so pastor so i believe the wrong thing god is able if your heart is right and your desires to please god god is able to rectify any misstep that you make now don't go out there trying to miss a step but god god is able to rectify so god has given me beginning grace watch this now god will give me continuing grace when god will give me continued grace as i continue as i move forward and then god has a batch of finishing grace for me so that i will always finish what i start watch this so my first my first confidence isn't is in doing what i'm doing is that i believe god but number two watches now i believe in and here's the word self efficacy and proof proof that i believe in what god has put in me watches now is i develop it let me say this to you real quick if you don't have a mentor a pastor someone that speaks into your life if you always got to be a smartest person in the room i got i got a a a spiritual son he didn't listen to nothing no matter what i i'll be in the room i should have to shut up and listen let him talk because he always know and it's it's one of the greatest frustrations to have a person's answer but they don't have ears to hear you got it they can't they don't want to hear nothing just want to do what they want to do just they just the bible says a fool is only interested in sharing his heart you only want you to hear him let me share this with you it's critical that you understand that if you believe that what god has given you is enough and it needs to be developed then you need to put yourself in a position to hear and to be developed and to be made and to be groomed so you can do what god is calling to do there's someone that knows what you need to know and and god has raised up people to teach you and god has also raised up people to connect you and i'ma tell you something most of you are not meeting the right connections because you're not listening enough you don't hear is when you begin to hear and to begin to develop what god has given you now guys will connect you you can build all the platforms you want all your platform is going to show that you're not ready okay that's not for everybody that's for is able he wants you singing god is able but he wants you to believe that god is able to do it for you you lack confidence when god could you could pray for other people and you could you can believe people in the bible have the same testimony like your stairs it's worse but god did it for them why because they believed abraham never wavered he never doubted for a minute that god could do it for him god will do it for me god will do it for me that's the confidence this is the confidence i have watch this watch this i want to show you something i believe god so i believe god is faithful to his word but i also i believe god has designed me with specific purpose and given me all i need to succeed here's romans 8 28 and we know it's a confidence word and we know that god causes everything to work together for good for the good of those who love god and are called watch this according to his purpose you and i are called the word purpose in the in the greek award it means according to his design according to his resolve for them i love this about the new living translation according to his purpose for them god will cause now you say pastor god said you can make all things work together for good but it's not working together for good because your eyes are not fixed on what his purpose is for you because god is not moving in your situation right now doesn't mean he doesn't want to move it may be that you're not pursuing his purpose for you suppose the purpose you're pursuing is the purpose that that you got attracted to or sucked into by looking at popular others and popular trends and you never sought god to find out what is the purpose for you god always gives us a clue about what we're supposed to do by the gift things on the inside of us god has equipped you he's giving you seedlings of purpose in you he's showing you what he's called you to do and if you you said pastor that doesn't pay the bills [Music] he doesn't pay the bills it doesn't pay the bill because it's not developed yet it's like an accident a child to go work but if you develop this thing that god put into you it'll more than pay the bills god has ideas god has provision god has all kinds of stuff we know what that we know that god causes i love that word causes everything to work to get every single thing everything to work together for the good of those who love god wait let's heart is moved towards him god loves you the bible talks about the width and the height and the breath and the depth of his love that's beyond knowledge the love of god for god loves you more than you could ever imagine if god didn't love you he'd allow you to just go and do dumb stuff but he loves you and so we love him we are called according to what he purposed for us you're in the earth because he has purpose for you god has purpose for you you're here with purpose look at romans 11 it says this i like to light up the scriptures so it's just not black and white so let me do this real quick here's what it says many of the people of israel are not enemies of the good news this is paul writing to the church in rome again and his benefits and this benefits that you gentiles it says yet they are still the people he loves and this is powerful i want to read again many of the people of israel are now enemies of god they're enemies of god of the good news they hate the gospel and this benefits you gentiles yet they are still the people he loves they they're enemies of his gospel but he loves them because he chose the ancestors abraham isaac and jacob and i love how god doesn't say abraham isaac and israel he calls him by his unrenewed unregenerated name it says for the gifts for god's gifts and his call are never withdrawn the king james says the gift of calling of god without repentance it doesn't mean you don't have to repent it simply means that god never takes back from you or never changes his mind about what he wants you to do once you gentiles were rebels against god but when the people of israel rebelled against god god was merciful to you instead now they are the rebels and god's mercy has come to you so that they too were sharing god's mercy watch this for god
