[Music] hello everybody are you having troubles setting up tears of the Kingdom for the steam deck to get a decent performance but today is going to be an in-depth tutorial I'm going to go step by step on how to do the best settings for the latest version currently it's at 1.2.0 and I'm getting around 20 to 30 FPS in Hyrule and for the sky islands and the depths and the shrines I'm getting around 30 to 40. so yeah I think it's a pretty decent performance and it's a enjoyable playthrough so sit back and relax and get ready for an in-depth guide okay so the first thing we're going to do is upgrade our Steam OS to 3.5 so in your steam deck go to game mode and press the steam button go to the system Tab and check the OS version if it's below 3.5 uh go to the enable developer mode and make sure this is on and then on the left hand side go to the very bottom you should have a new developer tab and then scroll down further down you should see show Advanced update channels make sure this is on and then go back to your systems tab and your steam client update channel should be steam deck stable and your OS update channel should be Main and then your software updates should be checking and it will you'll have a new update click the apply and you should download the new OS and it will install it and you need to restart your steam deck so I'll fast forward this part and I'll see you once we've restarted the steam deck okay so once we've restarted we should be on 3.5 press the steam button and go to system and double check make sure that the OS version is on at least 3.5 and then we can go to desktop mode to continue with our setups so I'll see you in desktop mode okay so back in desktop mode we're gonna go to the cryo utilities website I'll leave a link in the description and then we're going to download it save the link as put it in desktop so don't just click on the link right click and save link as and then save on the desktop then we double click the desktop icon and it's going to install quarrel utilities so once that's done you can see there's a lot of icons popping out so double click the cryo utilities icon and it would say it requires a password so set your password if you haven't if you want to set a password go to all applications and then search for k open the console okay for console and then type passwd and then you should be able to enter your password and then you have to reconfirm your password I already have done it so that's why I'm just changing my password now if you haven't done it you should be setting your new password so once that's done go back to the cryo utilities and enter your password and then you can just click recommended settings okay so we're setting the recommended settings you should need at least 16 gigabytes free for the recommended if you have lower than that then it won't be as good but uh just to recommend it so accordingly to your your own setup for the 60 gig model if you don't have SD card or anything like that you might not be able to get 16 gigabytes of free space so it might take a little bit of time just be patient here all right we're done so now you can see the settings we should we have 16 gigabytes and one sloppiness these are all green they were good to go the vram uh it should it should be one one gig if you haven't done anything we can change it to four gigabytes I'll show you that later okay next we're going to set the Early Access version of yusu so I assumed you've already installed Yuzu through mu DAC so launch yusu and okay I'm going to update to the latest build so this is the mainline build you can see on the top it's the mainline build this is the mainline build you should if you haven't done anything with it you should be have something similar to this so in order to get the Early Access build go to your location of your YouTube I put mine on the SD card so it's in the SD card emulation and then tools launches and then I should have a user.sh double click it and open the file don't execute just open the file and you have to type this code in I'll leave it in the description so you could type this code in and put it between that bin bash yeah put it in between and then just save it so yeah this code and save it Okay so we've got a large user again and we should be able to get the latest Early Access version if we're connected to the internet if you're not connected then you won't see now we're on Early Access version okay okay so the next thing we're going to do is make sure that our Legend of Zelda is updated to the 1.2.0 if you're not on this version uh download it and then uh go to your Yuzu file then install files to Nam and select your update file and just install it yep so and then when you after you've installed it remove the cache storage and also remove the pipeline cache just let it all rebuild uh it should be better as I've read online so then go to this website I'll put a Link in the description it's the mods collection and download it currently it's on 2.5 so make sure you download the version 2.5 for 1.0.0 one point sorry 1.2.0 and I'm going to download the 7z file because it's smaller download but it takes a little bit longer to unzip but that's okay so once you've downloaded that you've got to unzip it so we're going to locate the file first and then I'm going to unzip it and then we should have click inside the folder you should have a mod folder where it contains all the mods then in user right click your Legend of zeldirties of the kingdom and then open mod data location this is where we've got to put all our mods and then we're going to select the mods we're going to put inside so okay I'm not going to change the aspect ratio you could try that out if you want but I'm just going to leave it at the default aspect ratio and I'm not going to install Chase I'm going to install the controller UI mod I'm going to use a steam deck mod so this uh when you choose the controller inside the game it shows the steam deck rather than the Nintendo switch and then I'm going to choose the dynamic 60 FPS mods and we'll choose these two I'll leave these description in the description but you can pause it if you want and make sure you get the right folders and then I'm gonna go I don't need the black screen because it's already in the controller UI mod so you don't need that then graphics I'm gonna do this disable quality reduction Allen fix LOD Improvement and then the shadow 512k performance boost yeah these are the four I need so copy these to your mod directory and then lazy press I don't have to worry about that resolution I'm just going to use the sweet mini 1008 the FXAA on one okay so copy this this disables Dynamic resolution as well so there we have it these are all the mods I'll leave the uh them in the description so you can double check make sure you have all the correct mods and make sure they're all enabled and then we can change the settings for the emulator so make sure that the CPU graphics and advanced Graphics the the settings are all correct I'll leave the settings in the description so you can follow along there or you can pause the screen if you'd like and once that's all done make sure that the emulator is on handheld mode and then I'm going to show you how to change the vram from one gigabyte to four gigabytes and then after that we're done all the settings we can try out the game so see you there okay so make sure you turn off your your power of your system you shut down completely so shut down your steam deck and make sure it's completely shut down oh there's a logo just don't do anything yet just make sure it's shut down okay now it should be shut down hold the volume plus button and power it on and release the power button but continue holding the Volume Plus button and then you should go into this file screen go to the setup utility and then go to Advanced and then go to Uma frame buffer size and you can change it it should be by default one key and you can change it to 4G and then press the select button I guess that's a select button to save the changes and then reboot into the system and once we're in the game mode we can check if our vram has changed so I'll show you that okay so we're in game mode press the steam button go to settings system and then scroll down there should be a place where it says the vram is 4G 4 gigabyte yeah right here three Ram size four gigabytes okay so we're in the game and we do the final settings press the three dots on your steam deck and then go to the uh battery icon the performance and we're gonna enable use per game profile so this saves the settings each time for this game and we're going to put the frame rate number to 60. and then uh scaling filter I'm gonna put it to NIS and that's it for this part and then go to the Becky loader settings and go to Power Tools uh we're gonna turn on smt eight threads and then we're gonna turn on frequency limits and we're gonna Max it out at 3500. and then Governor we're going to change to Performance frequency limits we're gonna do uh enable it and then we're going to Max it out at 1600 we've got to maximize the performance we don't care about battery at this moment and then we've got a set to persistent profile so I'm going to leave these settings in the description as well so you can follow along and yeah there you have it the all the settings are done and you can enjoy the game so maybe I'll show you part of the that's the performance in the depths I think these are the best settings for now I'm not sure if the emulator will get any better and we might get even better performance so now we're in the depths it's got a little dropped when I came in but yeah that's natural so we're getting 30 to 40 in steps yeah pretty good performance so yeah I hope this video helped you out if it did please leave a like And subscribe to the channel it really helps out and I'll see you guys in the next one see you later
