it's 2023 and it's time for me to tell you exactly which modular home companies that I have a big giant eye on this year as you know there are plenty of scams when it comes to modular home companies especially the new ones that seem really embedded but then all of a sudden you never really see their product but these companies that I'm going to be talking about today have been in business for quite some time so let's just jump into the first one because I actually know these people I've talked to them several times well one thing we need to get clear right away though modular homes are not the same as manufactured homes manufactured home is made in a manufacturing plant and so are modular homes but manufactured homes are made in one two or three different little modules that are put together that you see them going down the road in a couple pieces and they put them together on site with a modular home they're either in panels or just little sections of rooms and then they're put on site once the pad has been poured and the contractor comes out and finishes up the home with the manufactured homes they usually look like a cylinder there's like one straight across piece sometimes they have a porch on them modular homes are built to the same specifications if not better than a traditional stick build tone so the first couple they're going to be talking about is hws global they're out of South Lake Texas and I've spoken to them I've actually met with them a couple times and they've said that they're going to have some big surprises for us in 2023. I have been keeping an eye on this particular company for quite some time because of the fact that they use sips construction I've talked about sips before in other videos that's the structural insulated panels that they have and they click together kind of like Legos with these types of homes you wouldn't necessarily need the same kind of Structural Engineering that you would for like a framed house where it has the studs and the framing and the whole nine yards this is one complete panel so if you want the whole wall goes into the section and it clicks together everything you need in that wall is already there and then if you wanted to have Windows put into that wall they laser cut it to make sure it fits into that specific area and none of their homes require any kind of lumber which is really great especially if you're worried about termites like we are here in Louisiana we have a bit of a termite problem if you haven't noticed now according to them this particular type of construction is completely monolithic and you wouldn't need to have like the house wrap like you would in typical construct production they say it's going to replace framing wrapping Roofing and insulation because of their type of sips that they have created it's mold resistant and it has R values that are double of that of a conventional home you probably want to know what the panels are made out of themselves and I'm going to read this directly from their website because I wouldn't be able to remember this from memory so here it goes composite panels are constructed of extruded polystyrene core a laminated veneer each panel is four inches thick and assembled using polycarbonate connectors lighter and stronger and more durable than traditional studs and sheetrock and I can honestly tell you that if you're worried about mildew sheetrock a traditional home building in sheetrock is a mildew collector if you have flood water that comes in you have to literally cut out all that sheetrock immediately and remove all the insulation because it is instantaneous so you start getting mold here in Louisiana we know all about sheetrock and if there's a way you can avoid sheetrock here I wish they would do that more here in Louisiana that'd be awesome now they're monolithic composite panels are the roofing system and the feelings so you wouldn't have to even worry about like you know your traditional popcorn ceilings does anybody do that anymore I actually kind of like popcorn did you like popcorn ceilings I like them now the foundation of these homes completely steel Foundation which is really good too especially if you are worried about termites I like steel termites don't they can't really bite into that as well hurts our little Pinchers now if you want to go with this penalized construction type of building for your specific home you can meet with them and they will work on your project together you can use a panel pretty much anywhere so that was hws Global the more that comes out about this specific company and any kind of updates they have that relates to their specific homes I'll be making a video about that in the future I have you know they have not given me one red copper scent for me to talk about them none of these companies have now let's talk about blue homes out of California this is a company that I do not know personally but I think it's really interesting and it's a good one to keep an eye on especially if you're living in the California area blue homes is a modular home company that specializes in high new home more quickly overall blue homes is a leading modular home company in California and they're offering high quality sustainable homes that are built into Advanced Construction techniques and you happen to live in the Northeast and you're looking for a modular home company I want you to check out Westchester modular homes I actually have to talk to these guys to a few times and they are so the houses as they have built in the past they were kind enough to send me a file full of pictures of their homes and share them with you they have the Cape Cod style they have colonial style they even have some modern style homes you just take it to them and see if they can build it for you what makes me super interested in them is the fact that they continue to stand by the work that they have had and they have numerous testimonials on their website I would tell anyone who's looking to build a home to use Westchester modular as their Builder which is always a nice green flag I always talk about red flags but this is a company that's definitely a green flag I think we're going to be seeing a lot more coming out of this specific modular home company but I definitely think it's one of those companies if you are in the Northeast area then you should be keeping an eye on so the next one is Method homes have you heard of method homes method homes is a washington-based modular home allowing homeowners to create a home that is uniquely suitable to their lifestyle Frodo homes Proto homes is a california-based modular home company that focuses on creating modern sustainable homes I'm going to let you know right now the price point on these is pretty hefty the companies founded in 2010 with a goal of providing homeowners with stylish energy efficient homes that are built into Advanced Construction techniques and materials they all kind of say the same thing don't they but I will say this these homes are freaking stunning and I know they're expensive but I just wanted to point them out because they're really pretty and if you were thinking about going modular you lived in California and you had that kind of budget just at least take a look at them they're really neat okay so they focus on Energy Efficiency the homes are designed to be energy efficient they have the solar panels they have the advanced insulation they have the low VOC paint their homes Feature A reduced energy consumption of the home resulting in a low energy bills for homeowners with a smaller carbon footprint they also use recycled and sustainable materials in their construction of their homes they include recyclable steel for framing of their homes in low VOC paint and finishes to improve the indoor air quality I don't know if you guys know this most the off-gassing that you get in homes that make people sick is from the freaking cabinets I had no idea when I moved into this house my eyes were burning so bad and we have stained Cypress cabinets found out they were off-gassing and that's what was making my eyes burn so bad so we like opened up all the windows left the house for a couple days to let it all air out all right they build single family homes multi-family homes and accessory dwelling units the company offers customizable options allowing homeowners to personalize their homes they're built in Advanced Construction techniques and materials the company focuses on Energy Efficiency sustainable materials a great choice and environmentally conscious homeowners their cost-effective sustainable fast to build alternative to traditional stick build homes now the thing I do found super interesting is that almost all of these modular home companies are offering adus if you don't know what an Adu is it's an accessory dwelling unit and that is just like a little house behind your house think of it like a mother-in-law suite and this is becoming more and more popular not just in California because it kind of like got the most news and like reputation in California but they're all over the country now I've seen them more even here in Louisiana now Maine has actually even allowed for adus and tiny homes in people's backyards so if you're thinking about doing this make sure you always have it permitted ahead of time if you're thinking about doing the Adu I have tons of videos about adus you can go ahead and check out some of those on my channel I have a playlist that's just about modular homes in adus so go back in there so you can know the ins and outs of that but I just wanted you to be aware of that if that was something that you were considering if you had a big enough house and you wanted to put an Adu in your house go ahead and check those out I also want to point out that these modular home companies they're not just located in those areas a lot of them cover many many many states so if there's a company that I mentioned that you're really interested in go to their website and see which areas they do cover just so you're not in a like where else do they build just go to their website they have it on there so I wanted to feature these companies because all of these home companies are really leading the way to what I think is going to be what's changing the landscape of home building across the United States and that's because we still have a low supply of homes on the market the only way that we fix that is to build homes and build them quickly and how we're going to do that is with modular home construction because they can be built a lot quicker than the traditional home build now out of all the modular home companies that I just featured which one are you going to be keeping an eye out on for this year or 20 23. is it any the ones that I showed or do you have another company that I should be featuring
