like in a self-aware moment this leads to some giggling from the comic with the performer carrying on despite the laughter photo is Right Jesus was P the cross died for our sins and three days later he going rise up in the heaven Quicky what are you saying it's a funny glimpse into the host's performance that's even more entertaining given the mixup number 29 Dave Chappelle uncle Ben when controversial mascots are being fired the All State guy stands up in protest Dave Chappelle plays the advertising spokesman and immediately loses it now wait a cut pick a minute Uncle oh I knew you'd sail me out we're not surprised either considering his deepened voice and outrageous lines he does find a way to compose himself but it doesn't last long because count chocula shows up Chappelle breaks character again to point out Peter Davidson's features causing even more laughter look at those big chocolate lips behind them fangs big old fat lips seriously America look at Pete Davidson's lips the comedian is having so much fun here that you almost forget that you're watching Network TV his loose energy might derail the scene but also gives it two of its funniest moments some Italian then we'll put you on some spaghetti you chocolate all right that's enough you're all fired except for All State guy thank you very much number 28 Keegan Michael Key The Muppet Show ever wonder what would happen to Statler and Waldorf in the real world this take on The Muppet Show sends two aggressive security guards after the hecklers with hilarious results finally something entertaining is happening hey shut up not go tell you again fellas just shut up what happens next is up to you Keegan Michael Key and Keenan Thompson attack the characters resulting in some breaking from both comedians to be fair the puppeteering is so real that it's hard not to laugh at it Key's intense performance stops for a moment as a muppet cowers in fear just over here being disrespectful yeah just drink some water man and cool off okay okay I go get some water this blend of vience and comedy creates the perfect cocktail for some funny diversions the host leans into the Absurd scene giving it another highlight when he can't take it anymore hey Kramer Kramer what hey Kramer you stupid that good number 27 Alec Baldwin Platinum Lounge this funny sketch shows audiences where veteran SNL hosts hang out Alec Baldwin enters the exclusive Lounge fighting with Steve Martin and getting drinks from Martin Short hey wait isn't that John Goodman no hey I was in sweaty balls the real surprise comes when Paul McCartney shows up at the end Mr Baldwin you wanted in the studio my with what looks like to be a genuine reaction Baldwin can't believe he's standing next to a beetle a mixture of shock and pure happiness washes over his face at that point he's clearly loving the moment as McCartney takes in the Applause break it is it is Paul Simon I got to run hey great to see you champ you got to run you too we would have loved to trade places with the actor for a surreal scene number 26 Kieran culin counceling cable for anybody who's tried to cancel their cable subscription this scene might be a little too accurate a I'm so sorry to hear that before we begin would you like to add a telephone landline to your current package for $12.99 a month uh no I'm I'm good I just need to cancel the cable Kieran Culkin's character tries to break free from his contract gets transferred and finally speaks to Spectrum itself the succession star covers his face as boen Yang's character speaks hi who is this I am Spectrum The Source the Nexus the provider this last minute twist breaks Culkin thanks to Yang's ridiculous voice forcing him to hide his reaction the entire concept is hilarious without the added effect of the host losing it not only does this sketch have a funny buildup it also features an enjoyable mistake from its lead performer may I interest you in 6 months of free Disney plus to keep your no just cancel it as you wish enjoy your new Spectrum landline number 25 James Franco spelling be thanks to a disturbed moderator this spelling be is anything but normal your word is berate could you use it in a sentence berate I'm dead inside because my stepfather used to berak me with insults James Franco's character gives contestants increasingly strange answers to their questions this culminates in the actor having to say little pig boy with a straight face when trying to give the specifics of the phrase Franco can't hold it any longer mistress hates her little pig boy I'm her dirty little pig boy please stand on me with your boots on little pig boy Pete Davidson also breaks in another funny moment from this sketch the host delivers the definition and country of origin but he's still full of smiles country of origin little pig boy comes from the dirt he's a weasly little mud grub who needs to be stood on little pig boy it's even more hilarious that the lead performer has to be serious making it even better when he starts to crack number 24 Scarlett Johansson Hollywood dish with Scarlett Johansson during an interview actress Scarlett Johansson enj draws the wrath of two excited journalists Kristen wig and Bill hater's interviewers eventually get crazier with a spit take just tell us how excited you are for the next and probably final season of the Jersey Shore you know i' i' I've never seen the show so with slushie flying everywhere the entire cast laughs at the resulting chaos the Black Widow star's reaction shot finds her hiding a smile if we're trapped in the scene with two comic Geniuses we'd probably be doing much worse haer and wig triy desperately to keep going and trip up their co-star in the process you have great skin what is your secret well I I I make sure I never go to bed with makeup on and I I live for a sun block and it's a glorious mess that you have to see to believe with everyone involved having the time of their lives leing I cannot believe I came on this stupid show I swear I'm going to fire my publicist thank you for a junky time oh she was cool is so cool cool I want to hang out with her number 23 Jeff Goldblum space the infinite Frontier Dr Kent Waller how do you even explain this idea will Ferell is playing radio Legend Harry carry and talking to Jeff Goblin's doctor about space much like the majority of people watching this sketch Goblin finally breaks after enduring Ferrell's zany character we all know that the Moon is not made of green cheese yes that's true Harry but but what if it were made of barbecue spare ribs would you eat need it there the host almost looks like he's trying to make sense of the skit in real time opposite a comedic icon the acclaimed actor understandably has trouble keeping a straight face I'm confused it's a simple question doctor would you eat the moon if it were made of ribs well I don't I I don't know how to answer that the amazing impression of Carrie is more than enough to throw off a season performer along with important questions about eating the moon this scene is worth it just for gold slip up what about this if you had a choice between being the top scientist in your field or getting mad cow disease what would it be of course I would choose to be the top scientist in my field number 22 Will Ferrell cut for Time cast list in this sketch set in high school will Ferell plays a dramatic director who set to reveal his casting choices the comedian then bumps into ad Bryant and the laughs follow soon after back up please [ __ ] upe what are you do Ferell tries to hide his break but it's already too late in a hilarious mishap several of the other cast members follow suit in a chaotic turn of events please and our Tech director dead this is going to be a delight but I was promised new jail so uh stay tuned it doesn't help that the host's every move is funny putting his co-stars on edge the whole time even former SNL Legends crack up giving this amusing look at theater kids even more replay value yes gorgeous sweet chaos number 21 Steve Martin and Martin Short the holiday train you don't need to know the film White Christmas to enjoy this wacky sketch well I'm glad I sat with you three you seem like a fun group you know what we are fun thank you for noticing that Steve Martin and Martin Short are two passengers on a train breaking into song to talk snow Martin starts into his offkey verse and sends short for a loop both comedians begin to crumble with the latter even motioning to his ear in a funny bit of improvisation we've never seen it not in person anyway snow I want to go outside and touch these two professionals have been working for so long that they know how to roll with a mistake through the power of song they find a way to work through the pain it's also great to see they both can rib each other on live TV and dream [Music] ofn number 20 Britney Murphy the Leather Man a sketch starring notorious breaker Jimmy Fallon and some ill-timed sound effects sounds like like a recipe for chaos and that's exactly what a sketch from this episode gives can I get you into some leather well these are kind of nice these are fabulous actually Murphy plays a customer interested in purchasing a pair of snake skin pants she really sinks her teeth into the comedy and leans into the Ridiculousness of the scenario and props to her she lasts far longer than we could have especially once Horatio Sans enters the scene CH why did I give him that whip for his birthday however she eventually can't hold it back any longer when she does break though she continues the scene so seamlessly that it almost looks like a character Quirk rather than genuine laughter maybe leather isn't right for me number 19 Maya Rudolph super showcase spokes models given Rudolph's experience as a former SNL cast member you might assume she'd have keeping a straight face down to a fine art and sure that might be the case until she's paired up with Kristen wig it's a real allinone when she returned as host and co-starred in this particularly memorable skit as a game show spokes model the results were downright to malous and utterly hilarious their exaggerated accents and ridiculous prizes are enough to make anyone chuckle that's a chicken man guarantee if your man likes chuckle you might like chicken haer and wig are visibly struggling to keep their composure along with Rudolph however it's wigs Antics on the golf cart that properly sets her off not only does wig break the set but she breaks Rudolph too that wasn't supposed to happen number 18 Jonah Hill Benny Hana few things are funnier than a kid with an old soul just ask Jonah Hill he plays Adam Grossman a 6-year-old who seems possessed by to quote the actor a cat skills comedian can I get your folks something to drink cup of joe for me sweetheart please and I like my coffee like I like my nannies black and bitter I'm kidding I'm six I'll take a fruit punch neat in this segment of the recurring sketch Adam goes to Benny Hana with his Nanny Lily played by Leslie Jones heill is absolutely hysterical as the overconfident chatty child so it's hardly surprising that not only does he make Jones break repeatedly but he can barely hold it together himself he a giving me nothing here it feels like pulling teeth without his string how about some Chef tricks I light in the mood he goes above and beyond to bring this colorful character to life and he does such a stellar job that even he can't help but laugh I have no idea what that means but Redemption Song it is number 17 Drew Barrymore the love our with Barbara and Dave Barbara what brings you to the prestigious W arms the usual Barry Moore is practically an SNL Hall of Famer she first hosted the show in 1982 when she was just 7 years old and joined the five timers Club in 2007 however as this sketch proves experience means nothing when something is just that darn funny we submitted to us ravenous desires as the three of us became one with the Great Eagle Spirit let's be honest Will Ferrell entered this sketch determined to crack up his scen mates and he succeeds in fact his and Rachel dra's commitment to their characters make it impossible to remain poker faced just look at AR Mo's expression by the end of the sketch she can no longer contain her laughter and who can blame her L would you care to see my bed adorned with hibiscus petals and my photo of me and Gina Davis Gina Davis that sounds nice number 16 Christina Applegate Matt Foley van down by the river take everything you know about motivational speakers and toss it out the window you've got Matt Foley with every clunky movement or emphatic Cry of and I live in a van down by the river Chris Farley knew how to make everyone cackle and the cast was no exception according to David Spade Farley hid some of his character quirks like readjusting his pants until the live show with the likely intention of surprising and breaking his castmates he succeeded well lordy freaking Spade host Christina Applegates can barely hide their giggles and the more physical Farley gets the more they struggle we imagine Matt Foley could still hear their laughter down in his van by the river cops are Daisy my God we're going to have to clean that up later number 15 Bill haer girlfriend's game night when you think of SNL actors breaking character we imagine this brings to mind John meany would famously add new jokes at the last minute to make ha break as Stefon in one particular occasion he whispers in his ear making him fall apart completely thank [Applause] you however arguably the highlight of hater's Hosting stint was girlfriend's game night where he plays Horus the older husband of CES Strong's Genie Horus isn't quite in control of his wheelchair providing ample hilarity slow slow Horus Horus slow hor as he tries to back up part of the set Melissa vior moves with him naturally this makes everyone crack up Hayer tries hiding his laughter behind strong but he isn't fooling anyone who to be SE to yourselves this woman is your friend number 14 Margo Robbie actress Round Table sometimes a skit hits a little too close to home on Margot Robbie's only time hosting the show so far one of the skits she did was a spoof of an actress's roundt discussion featuring Robbie doing a fairly good Kira nightly impression thank you actually so great to be here supporting women in film the other cast members are also playing younger real actresses all except except for Kate McKinnon who is playing a fake actress named debet goldry who is much older and worked during the Golden Age of Hollywood it's a pleasure to be alive the gag is that while all the younger actresses give standard fairly boring answers debet tells totally wacky often inappropriate stories from long ago in her career poor Robbie has a tremendously hard time not laughing at her but hey it's hard not to laugh at Kate mckinon you girls no we don't is that a thing that happens number 13 Justin Timberlake the Barry Gibb talk show BG singers if anyone has proven themselves to be an SNL Allstar it's Justin Timberlake to join the five timr Club you can't be a slouch in the comedian Department welcome to the five timr Club we've been expecting you Mr Timberlake wow smoking jacket please but even five timers R sometimes in one of Timber's earlier performances on the show he did a skit with Jimmy Fallon titled the Barry Gibb talk show in the skit Fallon plays the titler Gibb taking on the singer's signature falsetto and speaking voice matter of fact do you think this is kind of half California Politics as a whole as Barry's brother Robin Timberlake is hilarious but sometimes has a hard time understandably keeping a straight face at Fallon's antic the face he makes to try and keep himself from laughing is one for the books do you have anything to number 12 Candice Bergen extremely stupid flubbing your lines in a sketch featuring a PSA like message from the right to extreme stupidity League might seem like bad timeing in but it's incredibly funny you know we all can't be brainy like Fern here cast member Gilda Radner plays Fern or is it Lisa whatever her name is she's a few cards short of a full deck her friend played by the host tries to point this out only to mess up the line you're not too bright are you Fern I mean whatever your name was Bergen can barely keep it together after that but when Radner seemingly ad libs a couple of references to the Gaff she loses her call entirely extremely stupid people are discriminated against all the time and I should know and so should Fern cuz we are extremely stupid people and it takes some time until she's able to regain her composure we can't think of a more perfectly timed flub number 11 Pedro Pascal Lisa from Tula I I guess I had two bones my B what are the ads ago WM gave the most as Lisa from Tula in this season 48 sketch her Allin commitment as the Bold noons yet blissfully oblivious Lisa is next level but when she starts soaring away at her extra extra well done stake host Pedro Pascal can't even hide his laughter chling away as openly as if he was sitting in the audience on to tear this thing up when I opened uh when I open the door he Pascal later revealed that he was set off by scen mate Bowen Yang who apparently rarely breaks this sketch was so ridiculously over the toop and outrageously hilarious that even the most poker-faced person would feel compelled to at least crack a smile poor Pedro he never even stood a chance you know what you know what y'all just haven't had it right I'mma cut yall a piece number 10 Janet Jackson cork soers to Janet's credit it's pretty hard to watch this sketch and not crack a smile this is where the final step in the bottling process happens where we prepare all the corks for all the bottles of Brunello that you saw earlier Jimmy Fallon Horatio Sans and other members of the SNL cast play a group of Italian wine makers who are teaching a group of tourists about their craft I've always actually wondered about that how do you cork the bottles excellent the question my through the sketch they all take turns to saying the words cork soer multiple times in very thick Italian accents we'll give you a few moments to figure out what that sounds like I love a soaking a cork I could have soak a cork all the night along if they let me I would have S two cors at once Janet plays one of the tourists and break's character as she's asking the wine makers how they learned to soak corks so how did you learn to soak corks so corks she flubs a bit starts to giggle and things just evolve from there number nine Emily Blunt escorts you'd think a star like Emily Blunt would have hosted Saturday Night Live multiple times so you might be surprised to learn the actress only has one hosting gig under her belt so far but I did get get to improv a few little things like you know the part where I said it's it's me you know that that was that was improvised she did a wonderful job by our standards but there was one skit where she sort of lost her call in a skit called escorts blunt and cast member Leslie Jones play two escorts who get very specific about what they will and will not do I will kiss but only with this amount of tongue oh is your tongue out yes blunt mostly keeps it together through the first part of the sketch but there's a moment towards the end where she has to fake a fool she pops her head over the couch to say her line but just can't stop a giggle fit from taking over oopsy doopsy I muffed it up again number eight Larry David new wife veteran comedians are known for their ability to keep character no matter how funny the situation so it's a wonderful but rare treat when someone like Larry David can't help but laugh at a sketch I got married this past weekend you did what I met and married a wonderful woman she's opened up a whole new world to me David was a writer for SNL during its 10th season and came back years later to play Bernie Sanders during season 41 but it was during one of his hosting stints that he caught a case of the giggles in a skit called new wife David introduces his friends to his very young new wife played by sesily strong yeah you guys can come but you got to bring three friends and they have to be either buff cute or rude two out of three the skit placed on someone as old as Larry David having to say ridiculous hip lingo and he seems just as tickled by it as the rest of us is everything okay you got some M yeah I'm sorry sorry I took I took my prep on an empty stomach number seven Jamie Fox main Justice Saturday Night Live has had some pretty strange running skits over the years but one of the oddest has to be main Justice okay y'all take a seat y'all take a seat right here right now SNL veteran Justin Timberlake once starred in this sketch but today we want to honor Jamie Fox's turn the sketch itself is absolutely ridiculous the people in a courtroom in Maine act like they're from the Louisiana bayou confusing a character who's from out of town hey what the hell is going on here okay all right now okay here we go now if we're being honest Jason sud's accent alone would have probably made us laugh way earlier in the sketch so kudos to Fox for holding on as long as he did but there's one particular quote at the end that involves the word swamp and butt and fox just can't keep it in I have to time up to Uncle Orville's airboat and drag his bear Lily butt across the swamp to pull out that ass fire number six Shawn Hayes Jeff not many actors are well known for a singular character as Sha hazes but Jack from Will and Grace is one of the most indelible sitcom characters of all time okay that's interesting you'd think maybe you could have told me this oh I don't know before I packed up my entire life so it makes sense that hay would be given a character semi similar to jack on his Saturday Night Live stint in 2001 think Jack but a little more hipster in this skit Hayes and Jimmy Fallon play a couple of sales clerks at a store called Jeff who Mock and belittle every customer who comes in what this is a genuine Looney Tunes jacket wow I didn't know Joey but fugo had a garage sale hey mostly keeps it together during the skit but when will Ferell rolls in on a motorized scooter well that's the end of haz's straight face we're going to the DOL gabana show how fast can you have your bags back for me number five Kevin Hart BS and Noble firing and once again we get a veteran comedian who can't quite keep it together but to Kevin Hart's credit this Barnes & Noble sketch is one of the funniest the show has produced in its later years heartt plays manager at a Barnes & Noble store who has to fire one of his employees unfortunately I'm going to have to let somebody go today yeah right oh what we know you think it's us yeah you nerds hate us cuz we work in a cafe thinking they're on the chopping block sesily strong and Bobby moan begin insulting their co-workers within an inch of their lives Brion why do you always look so wet why do you do you hatch out of an egg every morning these two are hilarious but Tim Robinson is who finally gets heart to crack during one of heart's lines Robinson pops up behind him without warning causing him to break character and let out a quick laugh I would never fire any person in this room except for Carl oh no except for Carl reason being he's old he's useless he just not good to me so Carl sry Carl you got to go number four Billy eyh Hotel ad when a host doesn't have a lot of Comedy chops under their belt it's easy to see why some of the skits that Saturday Night Live Writers come up with might throw them off their game so is the case for Billy ish who hosted the show in 2021 and did surprisingly well for a firsttime host especially one so young our rooms provide every Comfort required by law tiny soap in plastic phone that blinks one of her best skits was Hotel ad in which ish lent her impeccable monotone voice to a very strange and off-putting commercial for a hotel why to see the local sites ask her conge darine but be warned she's having a hard month every month but unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it iish couldn't hold that dead panone for long especially not next to the very hilarious Kate McKinnon situated between the DMV and a darkened Sonic it's the location that will make your Uber driver say you sure number three Lindsay Lohan Debbie Downer Disney World well you guys Disney World really is fun makes me feel like a kid again I mean the time before my 2-year stint at Children's this sketch is anything but a downer indeed taking Rachel dra's iconic recurring character to the happiest place on Earth was a stroke of Genius although even Pluto w walks away from her with his tail between his legs that cost him on he's probably in the early stages of heat [Music] stroke nevertheless as they say misery loves company and Debb's misery is such a crowd pleaser that she soon breaks everyone credit to Lohan though who holds out longer than most of her scen mates however eventually even she gets caught up in the hilarity and loses it you are totally ruining my trip to I didn't say a word during It's a small world when you talked about low birth weight or during the fireworks when you went when you went thought about feline AIDS the actress later told Vogue that she quickly left the set as she was worried she'd get in trouble for laughing number two Adele Africa tourism while the subject matter is somewhat sketchy this skit is primarily remembered for Adele's infectious laughter you're going to want that coconut water last night I saw my f of God she plays a divorce discovering the continent of Africa alongside cast members Kate McKinnon and Heidi Gardner as any SN fan knows keeping a straight face while sharing the screen with McKinnon is very hard and for sure the comedian comes close to Breaking the singer numerous times it starts with A sly smile and a slight chuckle here and there but it's Garder who delivers the double on Tundra that leaves Adele doubled over and laughing out loud the Rhythm the drums the pounding the Fanning yourself with a palom between rounds it was as soon as she gets going goling is absolutely down for the count he tries to hide behind his hand but nothing can hide that smile so I had to just chill up there with my damn Co coot and prune Shoe Right till the place open up goling later reprised the sketch but nothing is as good as the original did we forget another standout SNL moment where the host breaks let us know in the comments below
