hey everyone I hope you're having a beautiful day so far today I'm gonna be sharing with you the best high end dollar tree DIY decor dudes that I have made this is a compilation of the best of four pieces that look almost exactly like the high-end stores but for a fraction of the cost so I hope this gives you lots of ideas if you enjoy it give it a thumbs up share with your friends and let's go ahead and get started this DIY is going to be a Pottery Barn dupe I am going to be using three different sizes of these embroidery hoops now the one piece will not have the part that use clenched down but the one that does you're gonna want to rip that off so depending on which style you get they come off really easy other ones like this one did not want to budge for me very well so I just took some hot glue and glued those two pieces together you can overlap them if you want to next ears you're gonna want these Champagnat cotton you're only gonna want the bottom end of these they are perfect size for this and I ended up gluing this down on the bottom you're gonna actually want to fill that bottom piece of that ink up with lots of hot glue and then glue it down because it's kind of hollowed in the middle so like I said I'm using three different sizes here and so what I'm doing here is I'm gonna figure out where I want the broidery hoops to overlap and then I'm going to snap those basically cutting it you can use a saw you can use wire cutters like I am they cut really easily and then you're going to glue that down so the best way I found to do this was to clip one of the hoops and then clip the opposite one so you don't have to completely separate pieces if that makes sense and you'll see why because one of them I actually clipped the same hoop twice and I didn't like the way that looked so one of them I clipped the black hoop the other one I clicked the natural wood hoop so just keep that in mind you can just overlap them and glue over each other but they're not gonna sit as flush as you want them to um see how this one is completely separated it was a lot harder to glue down to by doing it this way so just try to only clip one of each hoop that is overlapping each other now again you can figure out the design that you want for this I wish I had more of these hoops that I only had six of them total and so I would have liked to have eight to make this whole piece but I think it looks really good of course you're gonna want to use poke candles for this I only had one actual candle piece for this but I think it looks almost identical to the Pottery Barn one and it only costs a few dollars [Music] you want three of the thicker wooden dowels and then you're gonna want about four or five of the skinnier ones and you're going to make a triangle and you're going to have that little bit of extra about an inch inch and a half on each side and the top so it kind of looks like a teepee in a sense and you're gonna have that there and just glue those pieces together then you're gonna take those smaller dowels and you're going to start making another X inside of that first triangle again they're gonna overlap so just add a little bit of hot glue to each peak area that the wood piece is going to sit and you'll just kind of see how I put this all together and looking at the picture that we're duping and it's just looking so good this is really easy to make and it costs a fraction of what it costs on Amazon so and you could always tweak this to fit whatever decor style you want so if you're doing a certain theme for your kid's room or for your room you can definitely use the same idea for this but just change out the extra little pieces that you'll see that we end add here in the end [Music] so I went ahead and picked up three of these feather decor pieces at Dollar Tree and I liked them on their own I think they're really cute but we don't need the basis of these so you're gonna want three for this project and you're gonna set those to the side we're going to come back to those here in a second I'm gonna use this wood wood this iron chain that you can find in the garden section at Dollar Tree and you're going to use one of the branches here it comes with three and so we're gonna use one of them you're just going to use your wire cutters and kind of pull those apart that way because they basically just interlock together and I ended up doing seven linked together for two of them and then one of them are you don't want slightly longer so I did nine on the opposite one so you'll end up taking those looping them around the bottom of your triangle and then you're just going to pinch those back together that way they stay somewhat in place and then you're gonna hot glue them if they tend to move on you just hot glue those in place one on each end and one in the middle [Music] now take your feathers you can either cut this off but I suggest just bending it backwards it was a happy accident for this one and then you're just going to loop that right through the hook here and you're gonna just add a little bit of glue to hold that in place do that for all three of them and then you're gonna add a little bit of a chain here at the very top if you want to or you could just use a string it's completely up to you but I was trying to make it look exactly like the Amazon one so I looped that around and then glued that on don't worry about the color difference here we're gonna take care of that in just a second you're gonna want to get some a metallic gold spray paint this up is awesome bye resto Liam and I can will last you a very long time so just spray down the entire thing and let that dry and this is the way this wall decor piece turned out and I think it looks fantastic for only a couple dollars [Music] so I'm starting off with just a little wooden block and it's a piece of trim that I had and then I'm gonna actually take a drill bit and this is going to be the size of the wooden dowel if you don't have this you can just eat six thousand or hot glue this on but I wanted to set this in that way would stay permanently for me so you just want to go partially down maybe 1/4 of an inch at the most and then brush that off and then add some hot glue or a six thousand super glue whatever you might have on hand and take those wooden dowels and push them all the way in and then let them sit to the side and dry next I had this Easter egg a piece of wood that I had not used and I thought this would work really good for this project so I'm just using another marker and trying to make a full circle out of that so don't want it to be oval-shaped and just pencil that on that I am taking a knife and just scoring that where I marked it and you're gonna want to do a couple rounds of that and then you'll kind of flex it back and forth and it will break and then you'll just tweak it from there and I used some sandpaper just to rough smooth out some of the rough edges then I took my drill bit again and just poked a couple holes inside of this again if you don't have that it's okay you could use a nail or you could just cut this middle part out again with the scoring tool and like I am doing here I just thought it'd make it a little bit easier for me to notch it out in the end I don't think it made it much easier and it's okay if it's a little bit rough you'll stand that down just a little bit and I am taking this antiquing wax from Waverly and I am just gonna lightly brush this on I'm not going super thick in this because this stuff goes a long way and I'm just gonna brush it on and then I will go back with a towel and just rub it in and make it go a little bit further [Music] [Music] this stuff goes a long way so you don't have to use very much of it and I wanted to make sure that I darkened up the middle part just to make it look like it was an old wood round and I think that's worked out really really well again I kind of brushed some of it off and stuff but you can do this to your liking but I feel like older wood has a little bit darker Center and then I went ahead and just took some black chalk paint and painted this black you can also just spray-paint this as well just use whatever you happen to have on hand that is what I'm doing I'm crafting with my stash [Music] the last step for this McGeehan code DIY is just to add some hot glue or whatever glue you have on hand and to the tip of the wooden dowels and you're gonna place them about an inch or so up on the piece of wood and this is the way it turned out and I think it is spot-on I really love it [Music] the next Dollar Tree DIY I will be using this succulent dish it's just a plastic shallow bowl and I really like how wide it is and so now I'm just hot gluing on the wooden beads the Dollar Tree carries these are the leftover one so some have been painted some have not don't worry about it use what you have and honestly we're gonna paint over it so you're not going to see it and you just want to hold them on there just enough to them to kind of dry then I'm taking my hot glue and I'm going to fill in all of the holes and I left about maybe half an inch in between each bead because that is way it looks for the dupe that we're doing and I filled in almost all of the holes here and you want that because otherwise you're gonna have holes in your beads and that doesn't look good and that's not the way we want it to look so just go around and do that and then I'm also going to just add a little swirl of hot glue on the top and you're probably thinking what on earth are you doing just wait you'll understand why in a second [Music] now to give a little bit texture to it I use the rest Oleum textured spray paint along with heirloom white if you have white paint use that I sprayed it down let it dry and this is the way it came out it's very flat looking and I wanted to add a little bit of depth to it and texture and I noticed that there was a few beads that I missed I'm just gonna go ahead and fill those with some hot glue that way we won't see those little black marks on there and then I'm gonna go ahead and take the waverly ivory color paint it's very very close to the heirloom white paint that West oleum carries and I'm just going to brush this on and I'm not doing it super thick I'm not being perfect about it I want to see the strokes in it because it definitely makes the bowl look aged and old and I really like that so I'm just gonna go ahead and continue to do that all the way around the bowl [Music] now to add a little bit more depth to the bowl I'm gonna go in with some white and I'm just lightly brushing this on again I'm not covering it completely like I did with the ivory on the inside but just adding a little depth to it [Music] now I did forget to spray paint the outside of it I was mainly focused on the inside but you'll definitely want to make sure you add a coat of paint again here I am just adding the Waverly white paint here use what paint you have on hand and then I will go back in with a little bit of the ivory just to lighten it up and take away some of the starkness to it [Music] [Music] so now you will understand why we did all those swirls of hot glue on the beads because it makes it look like it's a piece of pottery it looks so good I am so happy with this decor dude [Music] for this DIY I'm actually using my Amazon beads for this but you can still use the Dollar Tree ones these ones are just a bit larger and I like the size of them for this project and they are just a natural wood I went ahead took some Dollar Tree twine tied a knot in the end and then just cut it to the length that I wanted it to be I started with my smaller beads first adding three of those and then I added two larger beads and then I go in and add three smaller beads and then one large bead and I just repeated that process for the entire rope and you can do whatever design you want but I definitely like the way the small and the large look together and I just made it symmetrical that way if you were looking at side to side you know bent and then I went ahead and tied a knot in the bottom of that one and now I'm just going to take more of that twine and wrap it around my fingers about eight nine times leaving about it maybe a four inch in length and then once you get that cut the string a little bit longer and you're going to tie and knot in that as well and then you'll pull that nice and tight and then that will allow you to tie it to the rest of the twine and here I'm just going to cut it once I get that all done and then you're going to cut them to the same size and then I took some twine and hot glue and just glued that around the top just so that the twine would stay a little bit closer together that's optional you don't have to but gives it a more tailored look for what we're going for here and then I went ahead and just tied that to the beaded twine [Music] so now I'm going in with the elephant color in the wavelet octane and I'm just brushing this on I'm not being perfect about it I wanted to be very rough looking and honestly this color could not be more perfect it looks and was exactly what McCain Cole uses so next time you're at Walmart or a craft store whenever they open up definitely go in the paint aisle and pick them up walmart seems to be the best price for them if you found them somewhere else let me know but I find that that are the best price and it lasts a long time and this is the way the beauty garland turned out [Music] for this DIY you're going to want these plastic bowls that come in a two-pack and you're going to want three of them they are found in the party area usually at Dollar Tree and then you're gonna want to make sure to remove all the labels on them and now I'm going in with the gel super glue and there is no need to add glue to the center of the bowl because it doesn't touch you only want to do it around the rim of the bowl and then just press that together this one dries fairly quickly and then I'm going to take that gel super glue and add it to the rim of the other Bowl and then take the third Bowl and place it on top and just hold that there lightly and then take a q-tip or something not your fingers here and brush that all the way around making sure it's sealed then again I went in with my textured spray paint it's almost like it's spring sand but it adds a lot of depth to the piece and then I went again in with the heirloom white this is what I have on hand I guys I haven't been in the store in forever and I can't wait to go back here soon next I mix the Waverly chalk paint of white and the elephant color and then lightly dry brush that on with a wide brush to give it more of a scratched base look what and I did that all the way around the only other thing I did was drill a couple holes in the plastic that way I could add some greenery to it but this is the way it turned out and I think it looks really good [Music] the next DIY we are going to be using some white paint and this regular canvas from Dollar Tree this one does not have the wood frame on it you want to make sure you get the harder one and then you're gonna buy the other canvas with the wood frame from Dollar Tree you're gonna take that canvas part all the way off we don't need that you don't have to save it or anything and then you're gonna pull out any other extra nails and then I'm gonna take the Waverly stain paint basically and I'm going to brush that on to the frame and I'm gonna cover all of the sides except for the bottom part but if you want a lighter a more stained look just brush it on but add a little bit and then use a towel to kind of rub it in for the harder canvas that does not have the frame obviously you're gonna find your middle point and I just marked that there with my pen and then I'm just taking a sharpie to use this because I originally was gonna paint this on but you know that if you use a paintbrush and try to get a completely straight line it's a lot harder to do then with just a a pen so you can use a paint pen for this mine wasn't working so I just used the sharpie and here I'm just drawing out the design now the only thing that I messed up on for this part was that I did not quite think about the frame and going over this portion of it so you can see the one on the right very n1 is a little bit too tall so it doesn't quite have that full circle shape the way I wanted it to but I try to just blend it in and work with it [Music] next add glue just to the border of your canvas press on the frame and voila it's done I love the way this turned out I actually want to make all four of them and it's so much cheaper than what they're asking for always a little bit smaller but you can still make it for far cheaper than what they're asking for this DIY you're again gonna want that canvas with the wood frame inside you're gonna want to remove all the staples in the canvas part and make sure it's nice and smooth you're going to set that aside and then we're also going to use these wood craft blocks as well as these longer blocks and I'm going to be gluing two of these together and then doing two of those so we're gonna have a total of four blocks glued together obviously separated and then you're going to take a single block and you're gonna glue that to one end and have it stand up okay so you're gonna repeat that so now you have two of the same looking blocks here and then we're going to add a single cube on the bottom of that to add a little bit of height for it so now that those are done you're gonna add a cube to the bottom of the canvas frame and you do that to the other side as well and then you're going to glue those little legs that we made you're gonna glue those right into the center of the canvas frame and you're going to repeat that for both sides and then once you get that all done then you're gonna go in with whatever color paint that you want I'm again using that waverly stain paint that they have [Music] now you could of course just leave this natural but not all the woods are the same color so that is why I'm using the stain on it you could also spray it a different color as well it looks beautiful in the bathroom especially with the glass vase with the candle in it it is so beautiful in such a good dupe for a fraction of the cost next project you're going to want this air drying clay I will have everything that I used in the description box below in case you'd like to pick it up and all I did was take about a half an inch of this and then cut that off and then I split that in half and then I just started to roll it it's very forgiving so if you don't like the shape you can just press it together and roll it out again I actually use this on a mirror last year that I did and I really liked the product so this is just leftover from that project so once you get about 6 or 7 inches worth the clay rolled out and a nice evenly and you're actually going to take that first piece and you're going to connect it into almost like a chain like look to it and more like a oval shape so hopefully you can hear me okay it is storming outside right now it's super windy it's raining and snowing it's going crazy out there so hopefully you can hear me okay you don't hear all of that in the background but once I get the first shape done I'm gonna again roll out more of those pieces and I'm gonna interlock that and then press that together and you're gonna want to just add a little bit of water to that just to get the hold to go and then something else I did is after it kind of dried for a few minutes I ended up taking a little bit of some super glue and adding that into the cracks and I'll show you that here in a second so I just basically went through and started making a chain link look here and I've seen these in various sizes I just think they're so cool looking for decor and it's definitely on one of the new trends out this year they have this size and they also have like a foot size of these chains it's pretty cool but I was trying to get the wood look so you can see I added just a little bit of super glue there try not to get on your fingers because superglue is really hard to get off and you're just gonna let that dry so on I got about eight or nine of those all together I just set them to the side and let them drive for a full a day and then I went back in with some cream paint and some brown paint and I just mix those together and a dry brushed it on to the white clay this clays it a pure white it's more of a grayish white and I liked it on its own but I wanted these to look like wooden chain links and so that's why I'm dry brushing it on it's kind of hard to see but you can see it up close here I think it turned out really good I really like this and I want to make more of these and of course this was just left over but the clay cost about five bucks for a brick of clay so really inexpensive and I hope you can recreate these for the next year why you're gonna need a couple supplies I ain't got these large wooden dowels and a three pack from Walmart for two bucks really inexpensive and what I did was I cut them down I ended up cutting one of them into thirds and then the other one I just cut off a third of it and I left the solid piece so I took some hot glue and I'm just gluing that down right into the center of it they ended up being about four inches in each dowel and then the one solid piece is eight inches and then it just takes some hot glue and glue those together I tried using wood glue but it doesn't glue on it doesn't harden fast enough and super glue didn't work for this so I suggest using the hot glue first and then once you get that all glued together then go back in with your super glue and add that into all the cracks and crannies and let that dry for a second and it'll harden up really really nicely [Music] and then I went ahead and took my hot glue once the either glue was dry and I spread that into each of the cracks and then I took a paintbrush and my fingers and I rubbed that all the way in to basically almost make it look like it's welded on is that's the way the picture looks and then you can just stand off any extra that you may find on there and then I went in with Waverly paint I used their ink color which is black and then the elephant color which is more of a darker grey I started with that one first that way I could layer it on I thought it was gonna be a little bit darker so it ends up being a little bit lighter which is just fine with me I brushed that on to the entire wooden decor piece here and then I went in with black and started spreading that and kind of doing a like a heavier dry brush to it I didn't want it fully saturated because I wanted you to look like a piece of iron that had been welded together which is the way our decor picture looks like so do what works for you just get in there and kind of spread it out and you know you can take a towel and rub it and if you want to do it works best for you [Music] I think this project turned out really well and I really like how large it is you can do smaller or really large if you want to but two bucks versus the 18 [Music] for this kirkland OOP I am going to be using this 11 by 14 canvas from the Dollar Tree and I'm going to coat this with black paint use whatever black paint you have on hand you could also spray-paint this if you wanted to so once that is dry I'm going to take some wooden skewers again and I'm going to add a little bit of hot glue and this is going to be my base for my first part of this art piece here so I'm just gonna glue that down and then I'm gonna go in with these gouache paint by Artesia and I've had these and I really like playing with them they're really fun and the coverage on them is really nice the pigment is that unbelievables I'm using the gold but I'm actually gonna do mix in the silver that they have and mix those together for the brush you can use a tapered end like this one or you can just use a simpler straight edged one I ended up going with the straight edge one and the end after I do this one I kind of get my technique down as I go that's typically what happens when I work on art projects so if you want to practice on something else first until you can kind of get the brushstrokes the way you want you can do that but I'm the goals on this was pretty bright and so I wanted to mute it down just a teeny bit to match the kirkland decor piece that we're doing so I just mixed in this silver like I said earlier and then I'm just gonna go in and we highlight that and you can see how it just mutes it a little bit but the metallic and these paints is so beautiful it has a wonderful Sheen to it I really like these I'll leave it linked down below for you in case you want to get some of these [Music] like a smaller little stem and then the leaf gets bigger and so I'm trying to mimic that and like I said with a lot of art pieces I kind of get my technique as I go so you can see here and just kind of starting to fatten them up a little bit and then taper them off at the very edge for the second one I wanted to work a little bit more free hand without the wooden skewer there so you can use the wooden skewers or you don't have to this is where I really got my technique down and so I'm starting to do is I start off very light and then I push on that brush and then I let go can you see how I'm doing that light push and let go so work with what you got and obviously one side will be a little bit easier than the other at least for me that's the case but I think this leaf turned out really good and to give that 3d effect I added the wooden skewer and you can paint it before payment after do whatever works for you [Music] [Music] when you're finished painting your piece go ahead and spray a clear coat of sealer on it that way it'll stay really nice for you and then you're done like it's so free you let it dry and you have a really pretty art piece that's costs a fraction of what kirkland ones and I like that you kind of customize it and things like that [Music] for this next Kirkland dupe I am using this antiquing wax by Waverly and you can brush this on you can rub it on you do whatever works for you it looks really good on natural wood but I didn't have any that was the right size what I was looking for so I just used this white wood trim here and I just coated this now again you can do whatever color you want for this but I'm trying to get - close to the Kirkland decor piece as possible I'm going to set that to the side and dry I'm gonna use these for champagne cups from Dollar Tree and we're only going to be using the bottom of these now I'm gonna be using three of them and I thought this was such a cool idea I took these embroidery hoops and there's obviously two so I only needed three and I didn't want the metal piece on the bottom so you can just slowly pry that off it doesn't break the hoop or anything and then I'm just going to glue that hoop back together I ended up overlapping mine just so that it wouldn't really stay but I don't think that's necessary you could just leave it even and now I'm going to add some hot glue to the top and then I'm going to add the bottom of that champagne cup upside down and that is how it's going to hold can you see that so you're going to repeat that process for the next two hoops and you can use all the same size hoops if you want I had eight inch and 10 inch so I mix the two together [Music] so trying to paint these I tried to use rocks to stand them up so I could get a pretty good coverage I went in with this satin black by krylon you can pick this up at your local hardware store and I just did some light coats all the way around they ended up falling over though and that was okay because I can't really get into the little grooves so just do a couple light coats at different angles and this is the way they should look when you're all done really simple and now you're going to add some glue to your wood piece put this first one in the center and hold that till it dries and I think it looks so cool already next I'm going to overlap them is that is how they look for the decor piece that we're making and again I'm just gluing that down and using a little wooden skewer to remove some of the excess hot glue [Music] this DIY d'accord you've turned out so good I'm so pleased with the size of the project and how simple and easy it is to put together make sure to use faux candles just be on the safe side but I absolutely love this decor piece [Music] this giy is so beautiful and it's super easy you're gonna want to one by twos ones going to be 4 inches other ones can be around 14 or 15 inches I'm going to be using this wood superglue I comments at the Dollar Tree and you're just going to glue this a smaller 4-inch piece about an inch or so above the bottom you can do more or less I would suggest putting a nail or two in the back of it just for extra support I'm going in with this black flat spray paint I'm just going to cover the entire wood surface and let that dry then I'm going to flip it in the back and add a little bit of hot glue but you can also use e6000 for this and I'm going to add a piece of a wire that I just bent that way I can hang up in this piece on the wall and then I'm going to take this hoop candle holder that I made in my last day I will leave that video link down below so you can see how to do that super easy but this is another alternative that you can use to make this and I think it turned out so good I feel like it has a vibe of Pottery Barn to it you'll have to let me know [Music] so this project you're going to want the small block of wood I just use some scrap trim board but you can use a piece of wood from Dollar Tree I am getting a drill bit that is the size of my wooden dowel which you can find as well at the Dollar Tree and if you don't have this you can just glue this down but I would suggest making the knotch because it will hold a whole lot better and last longer for you add a little bit of hot glue or some type of wood glue in there and press that in him right down so it's nice and tight and then just let that dry and set that to the side now I'm going to use these ping-pong balls that you can find at the Dollar Tree just fly everywhere but I'm going to take my wire cutters and just snip a little piece in the side and then I'm gonna take my wooden skewer and poke that through and the balls will send it kind of cave in you can't quite see it visit the lighting but just take that one in doubt and kind of poke it back out you'll be fine so you can just make one sniff and then try to poke that through or you can make two one on each end depends on what you want to do but it's really easy once you get it down and you're just going to do that to all 12 balls I ended up using two packages of the ping-pong balls [Music] now I'm going to use this thicker floral wire the Dollar Tree carries it usually comes in a variety of different colors so I happen to have purple and red and I'm just going to unwind this and then what I'm going to do is I'm going to start sliding on those ping-pong balls [Music] [Music] once you get all of your balls on the wire then you're just going to take the end and start twisting that that way they do not fall off and I just use my wire cutters to kind of to twist that into shape and then you're going to do that on the opposite end as well but you're going to leave about three or four inches of wire left over and you'll see why so I'm just going to split mine and see how much exactly I need and then I'm again going to twist that top wire it's really easy to work with but then if you want to get really tiny tight and tiny you'll want to use some type of wire pinchers or something so now with the leftover wire I'm actually going to put on my wooden beads I wanted to make two different styles of this to see which one I liked better and so these wooden beads I will leave down the scription box below they are more of a medium sized one they're a good 3/4 of an inch palm size ball I'm not sure what millimeter that is but I went ahead and took the base and I painted it gold with some spray paint and now you can see why we left a few extra inches that way we could twist it around the top part of the wooden dowel you'll just wrap it around till get nice and tight and you're gonna add some hot glue or some e6000 and let that dry and you can paint over that and this is the way the project came out I really like how high-end it looks and I think it looks really good compared to the maguey and Co one which is the one I was trying to dupe for this and here is the black one with the wooden beads which I like equally so here they are as a set I think it turned out great for this DIY I got three pieces of wood these are a quarter of an inch by four or five inches in length and I'm adding a bead of glue and then I'm just going to layer them they are cut at a 30-degree angle I don't know if that's necessary necessary but I did it anyways because that's the way the picture looks online for them and then I went ahead and added another bead of glue and then one to the other side and that way they would kind of stand up and it'd be kind of like a sculpture piece I went ahead and spray painted it gold with metallic gold paint and this is the way it turned out which looks pretty darn close to the McGeehan : that I was trying to do but I think it turned out pretty good for this project you're going to want a round base for the bottom I'm just using a piece of wood that I had and then I'm gonna be using this fourth inch drip line I thought that this worked the best for getting the shape that I wanted now I didn't measure these out I just cut them for the size of my candle so whatever folk and believe you're going to be using it's very important that you use fo for this you can tailor the shape now the Z Gallerie one only has three sides to it but I didn't think that that was enough and I wanted to add more so do it works best for you and your decor taste you might like the simple three edge I don't I wanted a little bit more just to draw the eye in a little bit and as you can see I'm just using some hot glue and gluing down each of the sides of the drip line and just layering them into each other and if you get it too big just take it off and recut it I went in with a gold metallic spray paint and this is the way it turned out and I love the way it looks [Music] for the next project here are the supplies you'll be needing I'm using these leftover signs from Valentine's Day I'm using what I have on hand and I'm trying to use up my supplies because I have not gone to the store in two months and it feels actually really good to use a lot of supplies I have so I took these and I used this on wooden round that I had and I just centered it and I have about 3/4 of an inch on each side of the wooden round so I play set up and I went ahead and placed it about an inch down from the top and then you're gonna repeat that on the opposite one so you're gonna have almost like a complete circle it's just gonna cave in a little bit which is totally fine for the look we're going for so now that you have that then I went ahead and just took my knife and cut down the center and I will say it took a little bit of scoring to get this to work so if you have an actual saw I would recommend using that but I was trying not to get mine out so you know working with what we got here and once I had that pretty much shaved down I just sanded down the edges a little bit and then I started tracing around on my pencil mark here with this and it just took forever so I went outside and used my jigsaw and cut my rounds and this is the way they turned out not exactly perfect but pretty darn close so I'm just standing them down and get a smoother finish here and you can see that one of the ends popped off but it's okay I'm gonna glue it back on its actually underneath my table at the moment so one part of the sign had the paper on it the other part did not so you want to try to remove as much of that as you possibly can so it's a nice smooth finish so once I had that together then I went ahead and hot glued the two ends together on each side and then basically just overlapped it and added lots of glue you can use e6000 for this or if you have like a super glue gel that would work well then I placed some more hot glue and then glued on the top piece and then let that dry for a moment and then I ended up standing that up and then gluing on our last piece here on the edge [Music] so we got a nice little sculpture here I took this wrist Oleum textured paint to try to hide some of the paper marks on there that I could not get off and gave it more of a rustic look then I took a metallic gold paint and painted this all the way around I love that color paint I let that dry and you can see how it's a little bit rough looking which is just fine with me actually I think it feels like it adds a little bit more character to the piece and then I just took the elephant color and Waverly chalk paint and just kind of added a little bit of texture on there because on mcgeehan cosig it looks like it's an aged brass sculpture [Music] I thought this was a great dupe for a fraction of the cost specially we're using some of the supplies that I had this is the way it looks up close pretty darn good especially since I just used the supplies I had on hand for the next project I actually shared with you in this a couple videos back I'm using this candy dish and these half rounds I picked up off of Amazon and I've actually used them for a couple of different projects I'll leave that video link down below if you haven't seen it yet I basically hot-glued the half rounds on I thought about super gluing them on just add a little extra hold you can do whatever works for you and whatever you happen to have on hand the DIY that I'm actually duping here I'm is a little bit more rounded but I didn't have a rounded dish so keep that in mind look through your stash and see what you have you don't have to have this exact dish for this I just went ahead and worked myself all the way around the dish and then you're gonna stop here for this for this project but I will say if you decide to add the Waverley chalk paint to this it actually adds a little bit of character and texture to the dish once we paint it gold so I would actually recommend doing this because you're gonna see some of those swirls and it makes it look like an older dish and it just looks really pretty but if you don't have it it's okay just skip this step and go straight to spray-painting it gold with the metallic gold paint that we use in the last project is what I went ahead and did and I just went all around it evenly giving a nice fresh coat I thought it looked really good just like this to be honest with you but I'm trying to get that look that Magee anko has for their brush dish so I know elephant color and just lightly dabbing it on to the half rounds here I'm trying to give it an aged brass look and it adds a little bit of you know character to it and depth I like it all goals I think this piece would look really pretty all black too but overall I think it's a great dupe for a fraction of the cost there's a little bit bigger obviously our actual brass Bowl but ours is pretty good-looking too for this next year why this is actually not a dupe but I love the way this project came out it was super easy and got one of these wind twisters they have a couple different shapes a dollar tree and I just took a wooden dowel and glued that to it and then to help secure it I took the piece of fishing string that was on there or whatever it was and wrapped that through the different hoops and just hot glued that on for extra strength and then I cut off that little round once I was done with it and then I let that dry for a quick second then I took the bottom and just cut that down and rounded a little bit and then they have these gold feathers at Dollar Tree and I had the leftover base so I added some e6000 to it because it was metal and then I added some hot glue for some instant hold and I let that stay there I actually held it for a couple minutes and then I took it outside and spray painted it black and this is the way it turned out and I think it's a really cool art piece to add to a bookshelf and stuff and it only cost me a dollar I really like these type of projects super simple and classy so for the next project these are the supplies you will need and I'm using this woven basket Dollar Tree carries these in a few different colors and so I'm just going to snip off the very bottom of it leaving that rim all the way around the edge and once you get that off you can leave it black you know you can paint it brown it's completely up to you I took this leftover sign that I had and I needed a shorten it was a little bit large for the basket so I cut it down sanded it and then I'm gonna just cover it in black paint you can spray paint this but I decided just to paint it because it was a little bit quicker and then I painted a wooden dowel that was left over from another project and paying that black and then I just got rid of a little notch on the bottom of the basket cut that out and I hot-glued a base on there you want to make sure you go up about an inch - that way it helps to hold the basket and then I hot-glued that down to the bottom with some e6000 and this is the way this dupe came out I think it turned out absolutely fantastic now there's this brown I don't have any brown paint so I worked with what I had but for a dollar I think it's an awesome dude so I hope you all enjoy these high-end
