Top 10 Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games! (2019)

with Super Mario maker 2 out it's time to look to the future and the best games that are coming to the Nintendo switch the second half of this year 2020 and beyond of course we're talking about games that are far into development with proper trailer reveals and in a number of cases gameplay reveals strap yourself in by liking and if you haven't already done so subscribe as much has changed since e3 now then let's get this party started with number 10 the first game on our list is one that was announced for the Nintendo switch since before we even knew it was gonna be called the Nintendo switch Dragon Quest 11 echoes of an elusive age marks for a grand return of Dragon Quest to the west as most of the series entries have been released only in Japan Dragon Quest 11 in particular first came out last year on ps4 and oddly enough the 3ds in Japan so the Nintendo switch port is as late as they come fortunately Square Enix is rewarding Nintendo switch owners with the definitive version of the game and it comes packed with brand new features and they are nothing to sneeze at you'll get new character specific quests English and Japanese audio and brace yourselves for this one a 16-bit mode if you're in the mood for some classic Dragon Quest nostalgia they certainly weren't kidding when they said this will be the definitive edition in case you didn't know Dragon Quest is one of the most important RPGs in gaming and there is a reason why the hero made it into Super Smash Bros ultimate it is an insanely popular franchise in Japan and considering the switch already outsold the ps4 there we won't be surprised when the switch version of Dragon Quest 11s sells gangbusters I'm still not afraid of no ghosts or maybe since I actually had the pleasure to play the demo of Luigi's Mansion free at this free let me just say wow this game is a true return to form for the franchise which is fitting since it is returning back to its console roots after a little break with Luigi's Mansion two Dark Moon and a Luigi's Mansion remake on the Nintendo 3ds first and foremost Luigi's Mansion free looks stunning in HD but more importantly vibrant as the game franchise has finally abandoned their overused haunted mansions and replaced it with another cliche haunted hotels only that this actually works way better than expected mostly because this time not only Mario is missing but also toad and Princess Peach and it's up to Luigi to explore and in the case of the e3 gameplay demo battle a ghost Knight armor prior to going into this demo during my appointment with Nintendo I must admit that I was skeptical but that skepticism was quickly won over with varied and fresh settings solid gameplay and naturally GUI G which adds a whole new layer to puzzle solving to the game we still have no release date for this title beyond the second half of 2019 but our bet is still on mid to late October and if the game is as impressive as the hotel Luigi booth was at e3 then you might see this game again in our top 10 Nintendo switch games at the end of this year back in February the core mainline RPG Pokemon game for Nintendo switch was our number one most anticipated game so why has a drop down all the way to seventh place the answer is simple pokemon sword and shield in its current state it does not live up to the expectations set for landmark Pokemon title in 2019 I can attest for this for a number of reasons cuz even though this Pokemon game offers the first true open world areas in the mainline Pokemon title the graphics seen in the wild AR we are doing the Pokemon treehouse sessions were awful and the e3 demo featuring the water Jim man is leaden esse left much to be desired the puzzle and opponent's blocking the path were total pushovers while the fight against NASA herself inside the stadium where we could the new dynamics mechanic was not much better to put it frank pokemon sword and shield is a groundbreaking title with an amazing region in gala which suffers due to lazy gameplay and visual design these specifically can be some down to a few points difficulty of the game the lack of Pokemon from previous titles lazy battle animations and finally awful graphics in the wild area that are totally unacceptable and laughable for a game in 2019 we just hope that some of these shortcomings will be fixed in time for the launch of November 15 as we otherwise are incredibly hyped for this title I would love to see it higher on the list of our top 10 switch games if it's even going to make it it isn't every day a game that turns 26 years old is room made from the ground up but since we live in the Golden Age of game remakes this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone because Link's Awakening is a title that is definitely deserved an HD update and is another testament and intenders commitment to keep the adventures of the hero of legend in the era of dog and light alive for all foreseeable future even so Link's Awakening is special for a number of reasons for one it was originally developed by Mario ikons Shigeru Miyamoto Takahashi Tezuka and Yoshiaki Koizumi and it shows with chain chomps goombas and a plot that is no equal with maybe one exception going into the story of Link's Awakening without spoiling it is never impossible but after being hit by lightning in a sea storm Linkous washed ashore on the island of coholan and sets out to find out of the mysteries that Island Heights one thing that's certain is that the few anime style cutscenes will contrast dramatically from the claymation toy-like gameplay art style oh if that said the gameplay is where it's at in the zelda and I can confirm from my experience with the e3 demo and the dungeon arranger that this game will certainly live up to the expectations why isn't Link's Awakening higher on this list oh that is simple because there is another Zelda game coming to the Nintendo switch in spite of their flaws you have to give bethesda credit at least they support the Nintendo switch with some of their greatest franchises such as the Elder Scrolls Wolfenstein and of course doom we were floored when Doom was announced for the switch in 2017 and now it's software in collaboration with panic button are bringing the sequel doom eternal to the portable machine sure it may not look or run as good as the other platforms but when you're slaying demons on the go you're not gonna care at all and doom eternal has twice as many demons to kill as the last game from what we've seen so far from the gameplay demos it looks like doom eternal is going to make the last game look like child's play in comparison this time the demons have invaded earth and it's up to you with the doom Slayer to rip and tear through every last one of them utilizing weapons new and old also your fists may come in handy once in a while if you're a fan of first-person shooters then you owe it to yourself to put doom eternal on your list when it comes out on November 22nd it is rare for us to get this excited about a new IP but the second we saw the trailer for astral chain we knew the switch had another hit on its hands come August 30th I mean dude it's another action-adventure game from platinum and let's face it this is the genre they have mastered with games like Bayonetta and near automata speaking of those games Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya as a supervisor on the game and director Takahashi Tora was the lead game designer on Nier automata safe to say astral chain is going to be just fine anyway the game is set in a city called the arc where an interdimensional portal opens up to a swarm of evil aliens the arc police then form a police force called the near on to battle them head-on an astral chain you will take control of two characters at once your human counterpart and your legion that will assist you in battles you can choose between multiple legions for different playstyles and fortunately we will not have to wait long for astral chain and it might be one of the best games released on the Nintendo switch this year on July 26 the long wait for Fire Emblem three houses will finally be over we will all be able to instruct ends like one of the free houses of the officers Academy of fatherland there we already have the first big selling point of the game massive replay value as you can play the game in three different ways and as a male of female protagonist but more importantly this is the first in line of big transitions of major mainline Nintendo handheld franchises from the 3d asset a Nintendo switch because by the end of March 20 22 big free Fire Emblem Pokemon Minh Animal Crossing would have made the big turn from handheld to console and what a way to do it as fire emblem free houses a major upgrade from a visual and gameplay standpoint from one this game will for the first time provide well-known Fire Emblem cutscenes and gameplay sequences all in HD and presented in a beautiful anime art sir but more importantly it appears to be the title that aims to unite a divided fanbase with serious and deep gameplay and story akin to old-school Fire Emblem while keeping the quality waifu an anime art style that made its definitive breakthrough with Fire Emblem awakening all of this a very intriguing plot involving a questionable religion as a fragile piece are one of the most amazing original soundtracks we have heard in quite some time make the game and must-own for all Nintendo switch owners who love turn-based strategy dramas this next game has been leaked by retailers for months on end and we didn't believe it would happen until they surprised us at e3 with that reveal trailer that's right The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is coming to the Nintendo switch this year how is this even possible The Witcher 3 is one of the most packed and robust Western RPGs ever made with gigantic open worlds and tons of contents how on earth is developers CD Projekt RED able to cram this whole game on a single 32 gigabyte cartridge we may not know all the details right now but what we do know is that when this console generation ends The Witcher 3 will be remembered as one of the greatest when we first played it we were floored at the sheer amount of meaningful content to the game packs the main quest is great but the side quests are a gold standard in how to create side quests not to mention the expansions at a whole games worth of content within them yes this is a port of a four year old game releasing at a full $60 price but trust us when we say that you will not regret buying the switcher 3 Wild Hunt complete edition on the Nintendo switch finally after all these years we are getting the best of both worlds a new Animal Crossing game not just on a home console but a handheld as well oh joy Oh rapture Oh No yeah it's been delayed to March 2020 but when we heard that this was to ensure the developers have a good work-life cycle then we instantly forgave Nintendo after all Animal Crossing New Horizons is innovating the franchise in many ways and not just with its island setting every square foot of the world is customizable you can put your furniture inside your home or outside to create a campsite you can pave the roads put up fences pull Volta cross rivers and talk to your neighbors in traditional Animal Crossing fashion and to top it all off the game has a gorgeous art style fitting for the first game on a home console in 11 years that's pretty much how long we've been waiting for a game like Animal Crossing new horizons and we will just have to wait a little bit longer for it to be released on March 20th 2020 now then before we move on to the rather obvious if you know us number one pick enjoy some of our honorable mentions who missed the list or are simply just too far away for now [Music] let's end on a dark bang so there's no doubt that the sequel to The Legend of Zelda ruff of the wild is the most important upcoming Nintendo switch title and it is this for so many reasons first and foremost it is the direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda breath of the wild the most successful Zelda game of all time both when it comes to sales numbers and Game of the Year awards collected secondly it is a much darker Zelda experience than the original which series producer Eiji Aonuma has already confirmed will be darker than two by far most heart-wrenching entry in the series Majora's Mask third it will reunite link at Zelda with Ganondorf for the first time since 2006 Twilight Princess and this time Ganondorf is a mummy of his former self and totally filled with hatred after being kept prisoner for tens of thousands of years for food it could be a launch title for a more powerful Nintendo switch revision for holiday 2020 and those provide better performance resolution frame rate and even more detailed environments and finally it will provide another adventure in the world of the heir of the wild Hyrule with new powers and most likely with a way better story that will do so much more about this world elaborated on overlooked factions like the ancient zone AI tribe landmarks and even hall areas in breadth of the wild with so much at stake right in front of us get ready for some truly heartbreaking moments and probably an extensive list of deaths as we all know how death was constantly present and hanging over the land of termina and majora's mask our height for this game is indescribable as there is a whole ocean between it and the other entries on this list well perhaps with the exception of Metroid Prime 4 which is on an island somewhere between as soon as we finally get to see something of that game hopefully next year or at the latest 2021 anyway that's our list make sure to leave a like on it and if you
