[Music] oh yes [Music] my bad yeah oops my god with everything we have learned from the half mile insanity we are ready for the dyno let me give you a quick rundown of everything that has been changed to this car first of all we have the first in the world fuel tech driver for a turbo smart electronic wastegate it's working perfectly insanely responsive and like i said we can control it with this on the ecu we also have wheel speed sensing on both front and rear to make sure that we know what speed we're going we have traction and so on our goal today with the dyno is the fact that we have untuned turbo and intercooler all new to the system we're going rich lean richly mostly rich so i've got a lot of tuning to do to top it all off we have a completely new exhaust three resonators in the middle and then a massive muffler in the rear still full four inch open but the resonators are on the outside of that trying to smooth that tone down and my god does this sound amazing all those changes mean it's time to hit the dyno and really calibrate this car for the upcoming race that we have to do the transmission oil change on the three rotor this is a tr 6060 also known as a t56 magnum i want to use the new valvoline flex fill perfect for exactly this except for one minor detail this is legitimate gear oil the t-56 takes atf i hope someday valvoline makes a little one of these for atf because that would be wonderful but don't worry this new beautiful product can be put in the rear diff rear diff is actually out of a ford explorer it's an 8.8 inch which is how big the the ring is in the ring opinion and it is independent rear suspension so normally you'll hear people going and swapping rear differentials on a rx7 or whatever 8.8 normally this part right here has no joints each side can't bend and move independently but thankfully this one does last time i did the oil change on it uh the oil change was glittery now it's been wonderful since then but that's exactly what this is for right here into the fill on the back side like that it's really nice both of these don't have a socket you just simply use a 3 8 drive so we've got it all ready to go couldn't be a better example of using this right here you guys know you have to use this really crappy pump that just gets mess everywhere this is all self-contained it stays in the same thing i could not ask for a better packaging for a product i hate getting in my hair [Music] [Music] [Music] that sounds nasty listen to this [Music] [Music] i just spent quite a bit of time getting a base map going now i'm going to start going to baby power pools we have the wastegate set to open up at zero pounds of boost so that way it prevents the car from going into really big power that way i can start to see boost curves and then make the next level of adjustments to the basement it's gonna not sound like it's making tons of power let's get open that wastegate but [Music] we have a little bit of a different problem the wastegate opened completely wide the electronic wastegate's epic but the g42 is so damn efficient that it's boost creeping on this car previous turbos even the older gen garretts could not spool like this thing is i had the wastegate wide open it's a 60 millimeter wastegate mind you both tile and turbosmart 60 millimeter wastegate the position though keep in mind the position at zero pounds of boost the car still overran the wastegate and we did up to 16 psi so i'm actually kind of curious it's wide open let's see what sort of power we got on that first run that was not what i was intending to do it did sound pretty good though 593 497 torque that run was with the wastegate wide open we're going to go ahead and now say okay you know what 16 psi with boost creep is our minimum that we can really do so i'm going to set it to 16 which means the waste gets to be completely clamped closed and i want to show you the difference on how much the power comes online sooner hey bud uh you know why i pulled you over today i don't can you give me your passport that's why i know who i'm dealing with you're not making enough power sir so uh it's illegal in this state of california [Music] [Music] hey uh guess how much more torque you made there it's five a serious guess uh i'm gonna say 80. 50. yeah same horsepower same horsepower yeah that picked up way harder than that middle level that's the only difference between those two and obviously i let off way sooner because i just didn't want to get out of control all it was opening and closing the wastegate 100 under 16 psi the wastegate only opening the moment it senses 16 psi and we'll use these rough numbers here this is the moment that the wastegate could open at 5000 rpm it was already at 16 psi but under that this is the biggest actual difference wastegate open wastegate closed and so at 5000 exactly we gained 160 horsepower at 5000 rpm just by opening and closing the wastegate completely apples to apples then the torque was 320 to 480. so we gained roughly 160 foot-pounds of torque just simply by having that turbo in that position that's how much of a difference having the wastegate open or closed makes on the g42 isaiah will work his magic someday but right now what we're going to do is we have to play with the wastegate creep because of what we've got just like you guys we always have issues where we we gotta race soon we don't have every resource at our disposal but we're gonna go ahead and continue tuning it still rich so we'll gain even more power the boost coming on so hard right there is what was spinning my tires that that torque kicking up that is not a rotary level of torque [Music] [Music] that's still super rich oh just 850 horsepower yeah this is casual oh yeah like 25 psi oh it carried on up here it can't that's the minimum i can do i accidentally just did 850 horsepower i'm a machine i was looking at numbers i was watching the air fuel ratio that's all i was doing i was just doing my job i like that yeah i don't like this but i guess this is a whiskey it's trying the turbo sticks you this is gonna go nuts once we close the wastegate over 16. because this is still 19 and it's fighting it if we clamp it here at 5000 this is going to rise even crazier this is the first and probably only power pole we're going to do full power through the whole power band i'm gonna have to pull off as soon as i see the thing getting too crazy but fuel's looking good so [Music] [Applause] [Music] i let off i let off i i saw it getting out of control i just let's take a look grow up i i know i i see it just getting out of control so quickly 900 almost seven that's nice 770 torque 900 horsepower and i let off at at 6 500 lessons i went up at 6 200 rpm we made 900 horsepower and a three rotor at 6200 rpm jesus okay i'm gonna check that log and then we'll go for the pull this is the run where i'm gonna try and carry what is 25 psi all the way through the power band past 8 000 rpm we made 900 on the last run at 6 300 rpm this car is just ridiculous absolutely ridiculous [Music] [Music] so it's my bad oops my god honestly i'm very proud of working with fueltech there are a lot of companies i love working with but i would have to say between isaiah's work and the turbo i think it's that turbo oh yeah that turbo is stupid stupid difference are we done or more um i got more to do but not push it power wise that's literally the most a thousand horsepower we can make in terms of early and it'll keep going it'll make more but you see that boost curve everything else utterly insane what i'm going to do now is it thinks second gear just third gear i got to start getting those things going because this is literally what i had at the half mile just right on tap on tuned that was not on purpose just testing gears right now [Music] there's a little bit of a bug as there is with almost everything you do where right now first gear i finally figured out the drive shaft's spinning 50 faster than it thinks it is because of the sensor so i just multiplied everything blah blah blah i know when i put it in first gear it says first gear as soon as i go to second gear the thing really knows as soon as the clutch engages the two it instantly like very quick gear detection on fuel attack so now i can do uh boost by gear and i set up the rear diff so it can also do boost by rpm so we've got gear and rpm choices not that the setup is really going to let us choose this is the last run of the day i've cleaned up the gearing this car is an absolute animal and we are going to just carry the same previous thousand horsepower run out we're gonna carry 25 psi past 6500 rpm [Applause] [Music] um [Applause] [Music] 800 foot pounds of torque 1033 the wastegate's working at this point yeah i set it to 25. that's like no joke i'm not trying to rip on anybody but this is like normal four rotor power like not my four rotor to be honest but the numbers don't lie the torque is just carrying we're at 700 foot pounds of torque from 5500 rpm all the way to whatever somewhere in there the peak horsepower even carries for a while the only reason we're falling off is because of back pressure now i got the gearing set i got the power what we're gonna do is we're actually gonna do a power pull first through fourth maybe even fifth just to log and watch how the boost reacts based on different loads we'll be able to see on the graphs okay you know what let's try and add blues really we're trying to take away but that would be the final level of this dino [Music] um that's insane i set it to 10 psi [Music] now that we've got all the base map done i was just doing some transient throttle hits it'll be even easier for me on the street just because the load is more accurate i guess for street driving but it does tend to lean out and then go fast really small amounts but i'll just tune that out on the street that's something that takes a while to really finesse the poor map is done the car makes power we are far beyond what i ever expected that was not an intention to make four digits with this turbo and i can safely say if we had the wastegate in the correct spot this would be the nastiest zero to a thousand horsepower any bit that those rear tires could handle this car would put it down it is ridiculous i mean the joke about rotary is not having torque this this shits on that joke completely so hopefully you guys enjoy what we're doing in the r d this is on my motor the motor i've built multiple times over now and have my dowels in there all machine work you know obviously i'm not trying to take credit but i'm trying to tell you how experimental this also is for me we're making it happen so wait till you guys see why we're doing all of this i have a question for you now that uh i've touched it and everything that's all good and whatnot uh what are your reading yeah i want your new updated rating the reading has gone up ten out of ten nine out of ten eight out of the ten i like the little cooler amounts thank you thank you i've stood up all night to do that i like the updates i like the titanium piping the only thing we need now is a new radiator and a new header that we circulate in a wastegate it doesn't have that nasty you know sound anymore yeah i like that it's internal now so 10. after you do the
