TITANIUM 3D PRINTED TRUCKS!

hey guys we're here today at Fremont with all of the wonderful people of Fremont and today we have for you there's like way too much time you had one job one job one job you totally blew it we have a box and inside the box is I have no idea what in the world is this what is this these are 3d printed titanium a I design skid trucks a I designed skate trucks yeah whenever I hear a I all I think about is evil robots killing me what could you first explain what AI is can you first explain what your name is and that you're not an artificial intelligent robot that is an ax murderer so yeah my name's Sohee I'm not a robot don't worry about that I'm industrial designer I'm an industrial designer for a company called Ulta - we make software for people who want to make stuff we do stuff design engineering buildings cause video games movies like if you design something we make software to help you make that stuff boom so you designed these trucks you built these trucks yeah design abilities these are Co design with some AI so everyone designed with yeah part of it was you and then the other part of it was AI was AI like I woke up this morning in a I made me some burritos so a I decided to make those holes there yeah so the way we design them is we gave it the base plate the bushings we told her where the knot was where the axle goes and then like to get a tool in basically simulate when you ride so like what does it like when you're cruising what is it like when you lean left melee and right and like when you slam down on it so you input all this data into your computer yeah literally 20 minutes later we get a hundred designs of like all of these could work one of these totally designs that you can use if you want to ride and then we 3d print them and they're totally writable you can try and break them I don't think you'll be able to break them oh no you know these are incredible so all of these ones in this box here are different yeah what are these made out of so these ones are made out of aluminium they will work just as well as the titanium ones but we haven't tested the alimony ones yet out of iminium oh yes the accent I'm sorry that's okay in Montana we call this aluminum what soda comes in there also at least thirty percent lighter than regular truck 30 percent lighter at least yet these ones are like 50 percent some of those ones like that one is like nearly sixty percent lighter than regular skate trucks so they should be easier to ollie should be easier to flip these are all obviously a concept like a crazy expensive to make so the titanium ones are $1,300 1304 thats incredible is that because the titanium is so expensive yeah so metal printings not like it's not easy to do it's not cheap right now but it produces super tough stuff you should give a shout out shapeways who helped us produce these shapeways show no need not understand this you can see like the metal fibers that were like woven together it's a really cool-looking and then the computer literally printed this out yep so this piece of metal is a regular piece of metal for the for the axle right yeah yeah the base plate is from thieve trucks let me say so you know if you've shut out thief so you just got the base truck and then the computer printed that piece of land well no no actually they printed just the just the hanger and then I press fit the axle in myself a little bit of old-school manufacturing in that tube are the robots coming like the computer could be like oh I have designed now a whole body that would run and be based on these circumstances and then print itself a body I still kind of dumb is it yeah have you told it to like jump it would just jump to infinity that makes me feel a lot better yeah even like a phone that like has the facial recognition I was like you know okay back to the trucks what do you think we do I think we just skate it right yeah they Spock when you work grind they spark yeah titanium will Spock up so it looks super cool if you hit some rails it's good thing we're here the public and we don't have gasoline around otherwise kickflip off I used to skate broken in three places twirl the ligaments dislocate today I might be able to bust a bonus out maybe okay you guys ready yeah I'm not and I don't know if I can kick flip it it does sort of look like alien intensity we need a name we haven't named them yet see if you guys want to come up with a name for the trucks yeah we need a name for this okay guys you ready yeah Betty ask your question this is lighter yes Wow it is lighter yeah yeah it's very much later Wow that's very right yeah just a deck with wheels on it uh-huh because the trucks are so light what did you expect Wow it splits like 12 times faster what what in the world wow it's way what's that whoa no warmup nothing the world's most electronically titanium artificially intelligent trucks do you think they could artificially make something that is intelligent enough to kickflip yeah I do that's what freaks me out how much would a vibranium 3d printed truck cost but rhenium infinity dollars infinity war it was so light analyst flew into the grass literally Aeryn I'm getting so many ideas what 3d printed shoes 3d printed shoes 3d printed mini ramp cut in 3d print shoes yeah so it could 3d print rubber yeah yeah totally he's like oh yeah no problem this is like wow just on another gills good so what time does it become from artificially intelligent to just intelligent that's a good question someday you could like wake up and be like oh today to ride to work I'm on a motorcycle boom prank motorcycle done yeah go yeah one day seriously that's freaky you want to know what you're talking about yesterday no I do I think a mini ramp if you drop in and do tricks on it it'll like analyze your speed your movement like the pressure you do when you land on it and also light up when you roll on so all I drop in and it'll be like Aaron just stop wow how did a grunt very smooth to smooth or like smooth enough it's scary smooth scary light it is scary light it's so light that I feel like every time I pop I miss it like I need to get used to it yeah does it happen on my hand manual suckers wow they're so light I couldn't do it let me just give one practice just just just to see what happens yeah they're good the worst way to kick flow you do it this way I should do a full 3d model a 3d printed model of you you know what he told me they have a shop in San Francisco yep you're 900 yeah I know I already tell them that we should do a video there you guys should come down we've got a bunch of skaters out there we built these there so these are about there yeah well the assembly stuff we did that in Pennine in that workshop crying on hydraulic prices taller than him how tall do you think a face about six foot about six feet and Carlos is 3 feet so that's double his size well what is your feedback before you jump down this I'm curious to see if it's gonna hold up or not so this is the test that's his feedback might be hidden but actually holding up really well there's my feedback yeah it grinds really well they're very light they're super strong I don't think it's gonna break I actually think it's gonna jump down this and be totally fine what do you think yeah I think you'll be good are you break him I'm gonna be impressed really yeah taking it you're not going for it did you see that coming game oh yeah if anyone's did not try it aimed on a trick these not gonna try yeah we can we can I think you just let everyone go off and do whatever they want to do on it now free skate all right free skate all right but start let's do a couple tricks oh oh it's an ollie hit the gnarly all stances Oh felt nothing what happened which one more I don't know if I got the switch [Applause] this is the real test all four double flips and if I can do that then it's a technologically advanced technologically truck out of the technical world you're blowing my mind with that English and you can land primo and nothing happens this in my skate IQ how did I do that [Applause] if that's not a dangerous robot that's going to end the world you thought those other videos were crazy it could be exactly the same as the glass skateboard only 13 feet high good luck Nigel Jones we love you you'll be missed [Applause] like I was gonna fall in and die right there right now man me too I actually almost did fall in that time actually makes me want to throw up I know and then swim in there yeah Carlos please tread lightly no what are you doing if there wasn't enough proof that he is a robot that is all you need to see Carlos please don't break the trucks how did he land that and roll away don't know Carlos are the trucks okay that was incredible well done you guys I want to thank you is it really an honor have you seen the movie upgraded it's basically about these trucks all right well these are very a little bit just a slight bit different between the other 3d printed trucks that we got that's sort of I think what most people think of when they think of 3d printed technology yeah they think of like this I think it sucks random neon colored plastic that just breaks yeah right away but this was not that at all no I mean you guys try to break him I'm feeling pretty good we jumped off the big drop like even the grinds it didn't even like grind it that much yeah Wow you'd hope so for 2600 I think it's more about that like how incredible the technology is and how it's involved right so cool to me so we want to check it out the technology we use to make these is called Alta test generative design it's in a software called fusion 360 it's actually free to download you can try it play around with it free for hobbyist free for enthusiasts free for students basically you only pay for it if you you're working that's incredible so we can download this and we can build something else yeah well I think you and I should make something together let's go I want in our hoverboards will be coming soon guys just just hold out for that so there's one more thing I want to test these trucks on okay so you guys stick around it's trucks to one more test this is the 3d printing that we're used to this thing has just been demolished it does have metal in there but it's mostly plastic not exactly a skateboard anymore and then just to give you an idea this is a metal truck right here this is one time off of the Braille drop and you can see what it did to that truck right there and this is full metal no holes we're gonna give this the ultimate test and see what happens rail drop let's go so he's gonna give this to goes he says he's gonna ride off and then he's gonna ollie off the man the myth the legend the Lost Leto's nothing literally nothing solid Oh seriously though look at that nothing no band no break Wow count it that train at the worst time alright well that was Carlos's let's go that's all he's gonna give it but look not a single Bend in sight check it out that's a 3d printed titanium people just think about it you know when they build the robots they're gonna be pretty instructed indestructible Why would you put these in a V2, they are for short boards. They are kingpin trucks and are higher and less stable. They probably also arn't the same width as boosted's trucks.
