Tips to Organize Your Carry On Bag So That All Essentials Fit!

hey there today I will teach you travel tips to help you organize the packing in your carry-on bags take these organization tips if they will help you save space in your carry-on bags by using the order that we have when packing you're going to be less stressed when you pack for your trip because you stress less by making these little changes in how you organize your carry-on bags this video is packing that personal item bag usually it's a backpack back because that's just easier for me I use a compression packing Cube and in it I will pack two shirts a pair of undies maybe a pair of socks but you're going to zip the top zipper and then you are going to zip the bottom zipper and that is what compresses the air between your two shirts the organization tip is that that cube is going to fit like a book in the bottom of your personal item bag this became an actual travel hack in case the airline loses your luggage like they did last Christmas the way that I organize my mid-flight travel Essentials is I stack these items and I will start with that compression Cube because I'm not going to need it hopefully then I will have my toiletry kit or if it takes up less space and you can divide it I'm going to pack one of my pouches that I may need my makeup for uh mid-flight then I'm going to pack my electronic cords and one alternative way for you to think when packing is Can I stack these things vertically or does it save me space and open up some space if I pack them flat during the flight you might need your uh charger you might need your airpods case so that is what why you're going to have that on top of that toiletry kit a lot of the airlines are now getting really strict about not allowing you to have a third bag like a crossbody bag so I'm make sure that I have a little bit of space in in the top of my personal item bag backpack let's say for that crossbody bag just in case and they do not say that you have to zip that backpack to go in the airplane okay so I just leave it open and just make sure I stuff that bag as far down as I can if they are being strict last minute like they were when I was in Knoxville my husband and I both have this type of cord organizer case but you do not have to pack in something that large if you do not have that many cords there are two Alternatives that I'm going to show you and I will list in the first comment as well the number two travel tip is to organize your medical bag if you have to pack a lot of medications the rule for airport security is they are allowed and they do not need to see them unless the medication is liquid and larger than 3.4 o that would now need to be screened separately so this is where I can help you plastic baggies are going to be your friend on the TSA website it does say that some states have rules about carrying medication I have never had that problem or question anything like that in the United States but if I am traveling to another country and I have prescription dry pills I would make sure I pack those in their prescription containers with the label on there that says it's prescription one tip that I have for you is for my liquid shampoo that's prescription it's larger than 3.4 o so I went to my pharmacis Kroger because the Box had the label on it that it was a prescription and since I'm flying to another country I need the prescription on the ACT ual bottle so that I do not have to take that box and she made me a label one other idea is to just talk to your pharmacist and see if they can make you some smaller containers for the pills that are prescription that you need to take and put a little label on that smaller container in the United States I pack all of my pills in just a pill organizer or in just a baggie I have used these little silicone smooth baggies you get like 35 and a set and I'll put zerek or Tylenol in there one travel tip is for Mexico you cannot take psea so you could be arrested if you take it into Mexico I don't know how anybody finds out that information but my husband knows that as a pilot one tip I thought of this is an organized way of taking your pills but do you really need this hard shell case because it can't Squish and smush and you have to find space for this entire object one thing to that might help you is to take these out and just pack those in um little pockets of space in your carry-on bag one thing I want to draw your attention to if you have not chosen luggage is that in the level eight suitcases they have a strip all the way back of extra space for packing that goes between the wheels of the carry-on bag so that's maximizing your space even more a lot of suitcases have Wast Ed space right here that is valuable for packing those travel Essentials I also like that their um handles are flush with the suitcase not adding extra length or height but when you are packing medication you do not want to pack your medication in your carryon suitcase I have two tips for you to choose from one you can have all of your medicine packed in your personal item bag or number two is to have all of your medicine in just a baggie even though airport security says you do not have to have it in a baggie you're going to have it for quick access and then if the gate agent says I'm sorry we have no more rooms room in the overhead bins we're going to have to check your bag then you can easily pull out this bag that's packed at the top of your carry-on suitcase and then have it be packed then in your personal item bag at the very top since there's a risk that the the airline line could lose your luggage that's why you always want that necessary medication on your person in the cabin of the airplane another tip for you is to pack your toiletries in an organized way and one way that I organize my toiletries before packing them is by time of day one way that I think you could save space um although I really pack a lot with my uh toiletry kit because it is slim but it can bulge very easily you could pack all of your makeup in one of these pouches maybe the smaller one in your personal item bag and stack it in that organized way or and I would only do that if you need that makeup before you land for your trip but you can also fit these in little spaces inside your carry-on bag as well and then in here is where I would put my deodorant my um toothbrush any kind of travel essential that I would need at night or in the morning vice versa I just want you to think in a different way one travel hack is to take your makeup brushes out of whichever pouch you have or your toiletry kit if you're not taking them in an ey Shadow or makeup travel case for brushes and then take those brushes out and then just put those in the hotel room mug or glass for water I do have a whole video on space saving tips for toiletries that I will list for you up there the next organization tip is for your travel outfits I like to pack in compression packing cubes because you get two large ones in this set of six and the zippers are really strong but you could pack all of your tops in one compression Cube you could pack your first three outfits in one compression Cube and your next three outfits in your second compression Cube and then you could pack just your pajamas and ex size clothes in one little compression Cube like we used for our personal item bag I have a video about the easiest way to plan your outfits and what you are going to pack that I will list it's for carry-on bag only this method works every time I have to pack a lot of outfits in only a carry-on bag all right here's a travel hack that you will have to follow me with if you have an iPhone you're going to look at a picture of yourself or use the hotel mirror take a selfie of your outfit and then after your vacation or during your vacation you're going to open up that picture and then tap down on you wearing the outfit and then you'll see a popup prompt that says copy and you're going to copy just the picture of you in that outfit and then you will open the notes section of your phone and at start a new note and then press down on it and it's going to say past and you can paste that picture of just the outfit and make notes for what outfit did not work for you or what not to pack the next time for your vacation outfits or the vacation outfit that was super versatile and the comfortable shoes for walking around in Europe all day make that list so that you'll have it for your next time you have to pack Travel outfits another way to organize your travel outfits is to make two different lists you're going to make a list of the excursions that you will need outfits for on your vacation and then you're also going to make a list of what shoes you need for those excursions or those activities and then you always check the weather and then there's always this really cute top or something you've bought brand new or an accessory that you want to wear on your vacation so we're going to use these questions to whittle away the outfit pieces that we do not really need to pack for this vacation question number one is can this shirt or can all of these tops be worn with the shoes that I have packed I've only packed I've only packed two pairs of shoes and then I'm wearing one pair of shoes in the airplane question number two is do you really need to wear that if you have to pack a pair of shoes for only that one special top sometimes you do when I was on a cruise I had to have these high heels I've never worn them since though but I had to have those for this dress that I really wanted to wear and have not worn since and that was probably oh we were the last cruise ship before the world shut down so four years ago if you do not have to take it then you know that you can now take that out of your carryon suitcase thus opening up more space because you have found a top that would go with those shoes and these shoes another day another reason that I like like the level eight carry-on bags is because I could fit my boots for my trip to Canada on both sides when I open up the carryon bag they maximize your space by allowing you to pack all the way to the corners on both sides so when you are packing those shoes you do not have to pack them together now that you're ready to pack everything pack your compression cubes across the width of the carry-on bag you've separated the shoes if that gives you more space to pack in the carry-on bag one travel hack is to fit an extra pair of leggings or a pair of shorts in between those suitcase handles or maybe even a pouch in between those suitcase handles if you do have TSA pre-check going through airport security you can keep your liquids bag inside the suitcase but just remember to keep it near the surface then you're going to fill in those empty pockets of space in in an organized way then you're going to fill in those empty pockets of space with your curling iron maybe your hair dryer your converter blocks or an adapter if you're going to another country I do have a video about the difference between packing an adapter and a converter that's very helpful it's just 3 minutes then you're also going to pack your toiletry pouches or one of your pouches there are several different sizes of pouches that are out there this is one of my favorite ones um and it's not Cheap on the inside either but it's on Etsy but if you'll notice pretty much all of my main pouches that I ever take are all about the same size but there are smaller ones out there and I talk about those in my toiletry organization video one part of travel organization is to organize your Essentials after your trip that tip right there is going to help you not forget those Essentials the next time you pack for instance in my liquids bag I always have my Lysol spray if I end up taking it my toothpaste and my containers for my shampoo or my lotion one other tip that could help you is to take a picture of your toiletries on the counter Inside the Hotel so you'll know later what you did not need or what you forgot to pack that would have been easier and then you can make notes after the trip as well and
