now throughout MBA history there's actually been plenty of times that fans at games went way too far now it's definitely no doubt that over the years russell westbrook has proven himself to not only be one of the most explosive players in history but also one of the most emotional and passionate players so it's definitely no questioning whether he does whatever he possibly can on a nightly basis leaving everything on the floor with that being said I don't care attitude is rub some fans the wrong way and that's what I do I'm getting into a few heated arguments over the years but probably the most problematic was a night in Utah during the first half of a 98-89 win over the Utah Jazz while Ross was still playing with OKC at the time Westbrook was on the bench and a video surfaced where you could see Russ and a fan start drawing at each other but you could only hear a Russ said which was often come up I promise you I promise you off you up you and your wife off queue up now you couldn't see or hear the fan in the video but after the wind Ross was doing some postgame interviews and that's where he told reporters that he reacted to completely disrespectful comments that he believed were racial Russ also told reporters how it started was a young man and his wife and the stands told me to get down on my knees like I'm used to for me that's completely disrespectful to me I think that's racial and inappropriate it's a lot of great fans around the world I like to come to the games and enjoy the games and there's some people who come to the games just to say mean things and disrespectful things about me and my family a lot of people think this altercation was stemmed from a previous year at the playoffs where the Thunder lost Game six against the Utah Jazz which eliminated them and as Russ was walking to the locker room a bunch of fans were sticking their phones in his face recording him and that led to him swinging an open fist out of fans phone saying get that phone out of my face but Russ weren't into more detail about what happened between him and the fan and he also talked about how some NBA fans just go too far in general he said for many years I've done all the right things I've never done anything to hurt or harm anybody I've never been in any trouble or fought a fan I've been in the league 11 years clean slate humble I take all the criticism from everybody I've been doing the same thing for years for me disrespect when I be taken that's just one video throughout the whole game since I've been here especially in Utah there's a lot of disrespectful things I said I'm not gonna continue to take the disrespect to my family it's gotta be something done it's got to be some consequences for those types of people and just two days after the incident in Utah LeBron James actually spoke to reporters in the Staples Center about Westbrook situation and he said I think that situation the fan was out of line what do you said to Russ there comes a point where it's about respect it's the only thing you got life is respect at the end of the day we could play basketball we could report about the game you guys can cover the game but at the end of the day as a man all you guys show respect that guy crossed the line LeBron even defended Westbrook after the entire situation when he said obviously rusted a very passionate guy but Russ is married with three kids a set of twins no matter if you'd like him or love him or the way he plays the game the guy's one of the most loyal people I know one of the most down-to-earth guys I know and that guy just took it too far on the other end they could have missed some words Russ could have said things a little bit differently but at the end of the day he was right and the guy was wrong shortly after that situation took place the Utah Jazz released a statement where they lifetime ban the fan who instigated it all and they said the ban is effective immediately includes all arena events with an investigation through video review and eyewitness accounts now recently we saw kristaps porzingis returned to the Madison Square Garden in a reunion game against his former Knicks team as we all know Christophe was drafted on June 25th 2015 with the fourth pick in the draft by the New York Knicks and fans of the draft actually booed him then but he vowed to change the opinions of the fans after playing two years with the next he averaged 17 points seven rebounds and one assists per game but he got injured in a game against the Bucks of 2018 which was classified as an ACL tear and a-- led to him sitting out nearly the whole season after much frustration with the team porzingis sat down with knicks president Steve Mills prior to the 2019 trade deadline and he said I don't want to be here I'm not going to re-sign with the Knicks and I'm gonna give you seven days to trade me or I'm going back to Europe the Knicks then traded him Tim Hardaway jr. and Courtney Lee to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Dennis Smith jr. DeAndre Jordan Wesley Matthews at two future first-round picks but Chris Tops didn't play last year as he was still recovering from his injury but the seasons been different where Chris stops returning to the court playing alongside Luca Dantas and the upcoming Mavericks team at the beginning of the season the team traveled to Madison Square Garden for a gaming it's the Knicks which it became the first time Christoph's returned to the city that drafted him obviously he was booed instantly and it wasn't just while he was walking out practically every time he touched the ball Knicks fans were yelling and chanting things like KP sucks which helped him in the first half when he started the game shooting 4 for 10 but porzingis eventually finished the game with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the Mavericks 106 to 103 loss to the New York Knicks and New York forward Marcus Morris spoke about the chanting as said look like he was a little rattle - it kind of helped us but after the game Christophe spoke with reporters about the game and he said I'm not gonna try to win them over now it is what it is I understand where they're coming from I remember when I was there the expectation was always high for us it's a city hungry for success in basketball for them and for the fans in the city to be going through this year after year it's got to be tough but Christoph's was asked at the boom is fair he said it was pretty loud their fans are really passionate of course it was no different tonight I don't know if it's fair not is what they know it's what they've heard I don't really think about that too much it is what it is Lucca Dantas even talked after the game about porzingis situation he said he's very professional like I said he doesn't deserve this they booed him in the draft he did a lot of things with the Knicks honestly from my point of view he doesn't deserve that but I think he handled himself very professionally you didn't do anything it was very very difficult for him now with LeBron James being drafted to the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first pick of the 2003 draft he was innocently placed with expectations of becoming the next Michael Jordan being the chosen one to bring a championship to Cleveland right when he was 18 years old being put on the worst team in the league from the year prior and LeBron did everything he could his first seven seasons in the league with the Cavaliers team winning Rookie of the year's first season averaging over 30 points per game twice carrying the team to the finals in 2007 but being swept and of course winning back-to-back MVPs in 2009 in 2010 by heading into the free agency in 2010 shortly after LeBron and the Cavaliers were once again eliminated in the Eastern Conference playoffs by the Celtics a moment happened that changed the way people viewed LeBron James all the way until present day on July 8th 2010 ESPN aired a 75-minute live special program entitled the decision and after many questions surrounding his career and fans anxiously waiting to find out exactly what was gonna happen LeBron announced in this fall this is very tough this fall I'm gonna take my talents to South Beach and join the Miami Heat I feel he's gonna give me the best opportunity to win and win from multiple years not just when in the regular season or win five games in a row or three games in a row I want to be able to win championships and I feel like I can compete down there this literally set the NBA world on fire Cavalier fans showed exactly how they felt about LeBron you had some people crying live on TV after hearing his decision some posting videos of people burning his jersey in big groups and others were shown on ESPN tearing down murals of LeBron billboards of the city something is when as far as starting small riots in Cleveland even holding signs that were anti LeBron I thought my being said December 2nd 2010 is a date that LeBron will never forget because it was his first time ever playing in the Quicken Loans Arena a part of a different team a lot of people have been anticipating this reunion game ever since the schedule was announced before the season but most people knew the brahs knew he squad were easily going to take down this young Cavalier team Bryan led the heat to an easy one 1890 went over his former team he shot 15 to 25 with 38 points but the hard part was le'Bryan have to deal with boos as he came out for shoot around before the game and throughout the game and of course fans around the entire arena came with various signs expressing exactly how they feel towards LeBron and tried sending shots in any way possible but after the game LeBron spoke with ESP in the day after and said it was something that nobody had ever seen before everybody knew the emotions behind it cable television made sure they captured every moment there's an eerie feeling just going back this is uncomfortable feeling going back because of the situation and I knew how often bunches everybody was the only thing I was talking about was how well can i play I just wanted to play well I wanted to play well more than anything I know that I did group of guys were gonna ride for me that night no matter what that was just the makeup of our club I wasn't worried about that but it was an eerie night once I hit the court I'm in my safe haven once I hit the court in warmups you could hear the boos it's probably the loudest I've ever heard boos in my life I felt the animosity I felt the scrutiny once the ball was tipped I'm in my safe haven there's nothing like a stop me from being the best I can be I mean I'll never forget it I'll never forget both is this is I'll never forget December 2nd 2010 and I'll never forget us and winning the championship at 2016 in that parade those are two things that will always be still to me for the rest of my career it's both as a negative side and a positive side to it doesn't stop me from pushing forward but it's something that I definitely I don't forget he forward Udonis Haslem even talked about little Braun hate that night and he said nobody liked it there was a lot of negativity bad energy in the building that night we all know it was real but once you get in there you could feel it you had nobody but your brothers and it is you against literally everyone in that arena Chris Bosh's well spoke about that night he said man that was I'll be honest that was one of those games I was most afraid of to playing the only time I was afraid of playing basketball was when I was in the eighth grade and we had a fight with the other team in a tournament and we had to go back and play them but the Cleveland game there was tension that's the most I'll say there was tension but we got out of there alive the NBA even admitted they thought about sending security onto the court prior to the final buzzer just to assure safety for the Heat players Rob Brown who was a heat security guard at the time even spoke about the December 2nd game saying we brought four team security members and then we used Cleveland police officers there were reports about us going on a scouting mission to set up security beforehand but that was all made up we went with the regular security team and then asked Cleveland for assistance what was it made up where the 9-volt batteries being thrown in the court I remember a member of the NBA's security team wanting to call the game because there was so much coming out during the game we were basically ducking behind the scores table just to not get hit I remember saying this is the most hate I've ever seen ever the signs the looks on the fans faces we got there three hours before the game it was packed it was loaded there was just so much anger in the air so much passion was something else no but Joakim Noah playing a big role and many playoff runs for the Bulls in the past Joe King was also one of those players that tried to get into other teams heads in any way possible a lot of people might even remember him trash-talking LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers during his prime years but just like players Noah and certainly NBA fans don't always get along either during the 2013 playoffs between the Bulls in the heat of course Noah was facing the Bron James once again and he was drawing with refs that eventually got ejected but Joakim started walking in the locker room a woman turned towards no and gave him the middle finger so close it was almost touching his face after this happened the picture went viral and the woman became a meme on the Internet as well as the ESPN for her hatred towards him and her team easily won 115 to 78 after the game took place and the pic went crazy online a friend of the girl who sold the ticket said she's a really good woman she just got caught up in the heat of the moment I don't think she'll be showing her face around for a while but despite the heat cruising to a victory during that contest he started to wane Wade made a statement for all fans to stay respectful despite whoever's in the building he even said at the end of the day we're all human we're all regular people just like you it's unfortunate we just want to ask our fans to cheer for us to boo them when you come here and all that but let's stay first-class around here Miami hey bro you know what time it is it's time to click on this video I'm serious bro this video right here is a classic video trust me you're gonna love it bro actually you know what man I want to click on this video let's just go watch it come on man let's
