ladies and gentlemen my brothers and sisters it is such a pleasure to have you join us again for this final session of convention surely we have felt the presence of the almighty over the past three days and as we come to an end we want to give him thanks and praise for his goodness to us this afternoon's session will see us singing worshiping dancing and praising god as we indulge in some hand clapping foot stamping music purse the reading of the word and the preaching of the word i invite you now wherever you are to get ready for worship my hallelujah god is a faithful god an awesome and magnificent god and we continue to worship jehovah the most high god hallelujah [Music] there you are just walk to the river hey [Music] [Music] there is nothing [Music] where you is [Music] oh i oh there is i've seen you move i've seen your food [Music] we're gonna take it up you ready [Music] is is [Music] oh see what they do see they go out into the forest and they come down a tree and then go and shape the tree into something and then they take it to their house and then they bow down and worship that little something but who do you worship who do you worship hi he's the god who made the [Music] good afternoon the scripture reading is taken from joshua chapter 1 verses 1 through 9. i'll be reading from the king james version now after the death of moses the servant of the lord it came to pass that the lord speak unto joshua the son of nun moses minister saying moses my servant is dead now therefore arise and go over this jordan thou and all these people unto the land which i do give to them even to the children of israel every place that the soul of your foot shall tread upon that have i given unto you as i said unto moses from the wilderness and this lebanon even onto the great river the river euphrates all the land of the hittites and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your coast there shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life as i was with moses so i will be with thee i will not fail thee nor forsake thee be strong and of a good courage for unto this people shall thou divide for an inheritance the land which i swear unto their fathers to give them only be thou strong and very courageous that thou mayest observed to do according to all the law which moses my servant commanded thee turn not from it to the right hand or to the left that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success have i not commanded thee be strong and off a good courage be viewers the participants of this convention greetings in the mighty name of jesus let us pray father and our god will come to you in the name of your son jesus christ we thank you for your love we thank you for your mercies we thank you for your grace we thank you for the peace that has at all understanding that dwell in our hearts and our minds richly we thank you lord for this convention and as we are entering this session of praise and worship and thanksgiving we pray that your holy divine spirit will be upon your people annoying derawan we we pray for utterance we pray for your holy spirit power we pray lord that when we have come to the end of this session our hearts will be blessed will be blessed and we will be edified and the praise and the honor the glory will be yours father we thank you also very offering that your people shall be given we pray that you will bless their stewards and according to your words yes to a room will never go empty we open the windows of heaven and pour out your blessings upon them we know it is tough times oh god but when we have decided to give back a portion for the extension of your work you have earned we know that you will bless our efforts thank you heavenly father for hearing us now and thank you for granting under us deliverance and victory we give you praise we give you honor and we give you glory and we tell your thanks district overseer of the spanish town district of churches he is a graduate of bethel bible college and is currently reading for the master of arts degree in church ministries at the pentecostal theological seminary in cleveland tennessee ladies and gentlemen help me welcome the reverend carvan campbell i must greet you all in the name of our lord jesus christ it is a great privilege and also a humbling experience to be asked to share in this great convention let me take this opportunity in greeting our administrative bishop bishop dr roy notice and his wife dr vini notice they are certainly dedicated and committed servants of god and has been leading with integrity and they have been leading as god servants let me also greet the national staff the departmental leaders the district overseers pastors and members of the respective congregations across jamaica and i also want to acknowledge those who are joining us live whether on facebook or youtube or what other whatever other platform you're joining us on i want to greet you well and i also want to recognize the presence of the spanish town members who i believe they are in much prayer for this service i really want to give god thanks for being a part of this great movement and in particular the church of god i believe god has blessed this denomination and we have grown from an acorn into an oak tree i consider this a great privilege and a great opportunity and i desire your prayers as we examine as we look into the word of the lord i'm going to invite you all to bow your heads as we pray lord we give you honor and praise for your goodness and for your mercies towards us you have been journeying with us as a denomination for many years and you have expressed your goodness towards us in so many ways and we pause at this time to really celebrate and to give you thanks that we can even join my god each other uh even virtually lord to to really celebrate what you have been doing for us so lord we're asking that you will grace us with your presence and your spirit and all that will be said and done will bring glory to your name thank you for hearing our prayers in jesus name amen i have been tasked with the responsibility of sharing with you this evening and the running theme for the convention is moving together through unity and integrity or forward together in unity and integrity i would like to use as a sub theme saturated for divine progress i would like to use that as my sub theme coming from the running theme saturation for divine progress the book of joshua was open at the doorstep of israel's entrance into canaan the canaanite culture was saturated with all types of evils politically kenyan was divided into many city-states and there were different leaders that were assigned to these states and they were autocratic leaders there was there were consistent political rivalries against each other morally in kenya the people were deprived they were they were lawless brutality was the common place of that particular state religiously the people practice serpent worship sexual promiscuity was very high on the religious agenda in that time and child sacrifice was also a common practice in kenya god had promised to israel through abraham and also through moses and joshua that he would make his people the israelites or the jews a great nation and he would give to them this homeland called canaan genesis chapter 17 carries that particular story despite the evil and corrupt climate that exists in kenya there are so many timeless messages that we can get from the scriptures as god seeks to address joshua the leader and the people that should be entering into kenya from the text we would want to raise up three points first we recognize god's saturation plan for his people secondly we recognize god's mobilization plan for his people and thirdly we recognize god's operational plan for his people we will look in a little more detail at god's saturation plan for his people according to joshua chapter 1 and verse 7 god said to joshua only be those strong and be very courageous that thou mayest observed to do according to all the law which moses my servant commanded thee turn not from it to the right hand or to the left that thou mays prosper whether so ever thou goest and that's really my basics we observe that god had a saturation plan for this great nation and you may ask me what type of saturation plan that god had it was in god's intention to saturate israel and his people with his word but before he instructed joshua to carry out this saturation plan he instructed him to guard the word to guard the word and we observe the guiding of the word in verse seven and verse eight thou miss observed to do according to all the law so we would want to extract from this clause just one word god said to joshua observe and the word here observe simply means to god it creates a picture like one who watches a place that has valuables for example the bank or you notice the guys who carry um monies all over the the country uh the brinks operation they they got valuables we have a lot of cameras um we we hear about jamaica i that consistently watches protects and to ensure that whatever valuables are around it is being being watched god instruction to to joshua that he should guard or observe our god the word carefully my brothers and sisters i believe god's intention why he told joshua to god the word is that the word is the most invaluable resource that any person can find on planet earth it is the word that god used in the beginning and he said let there be light and there was light hallelujah my brothers and sisters we could look at many instances where when the world is being spoken we see life we see productivity we see great miraculous results so god said to joshua it is your duty and responsibility to god the word hallelujah but not only that he instructed him that he should guard the world he he was also saying that this word should become your guiding pose it should give you directives it should give you instructions you know i was reading an article and the article speaks of world war ii when the nazis invaded france the french citizens in order to ensure that the nazis did not make any progress in their city what they did was to go around and remove all the signs on the streets so they were not able to find the streets and they were plunged into confusion my brothers and sisters as we have gathered at this convention i believe that it is god's will it is god's mind it is god's plan that we have our our signposts up all across this country because without the signpost which which is the word of god we cannot find where we are going we cannot find our way so my brothers and sisters just as all my god the french pulled down the signs to confuse their enemies we have a responsibility to ensure that the signs the word of god is posted everywhere that men and women can understand the mind the will and the purpose of god for their personal life for family life for our national life it is important that we keep the post the word everywhere my brothers and sisters hallelujah hallelujah i i it's it's my belief that that we we must god we must god this word and we must ensure that this word is being kept through our sunday schools the sunday schools need to get out the world our bible studies must guide the world our sunday services our crusades must god the valuable the invaluable resources that god has given to us to direct us not only that the word should be guarded but you know god told joshua to talk the word so what he was actually saying to to joshua you you need to ensure that the word of god saturate your language we we we notice in joshua chapter 1 and verse 8 this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth it should become our language we should eat up the word we should digest the word we should allow the nutrients of the world to infiltrate our personal life until it becomes a language we we speak it wherever we go we speak the word of almighty god so we we need to we need to have word saturation in our language not only that we need word saturation but we need the word of god to saturate our thinking so there should be mental or mind saturation by the word of god god told joshua that he should meditate on the word day and night and you know this type of meditation is not like eastern um meditation where where there is the practice for the clearing of the mind all factors and to focus on one solitary thought which has to do with you becoming one with the universe that's not the type of meditation that god is asking us to be engaged in god is asking us to be hallelujah engaged in a type of meditation and and i like oh um joshua 1 and verse 8 puts it this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shalt meditate here in the night and the word here meditate simply put it's like the cow that eats the grass and he digests it and the mechanics of the stomach brings up back what he ate and what he ate he will go through the necessary processes again and the the benefits of of the the food that he ate or the grass that he ate would benefit his entire body my brothers and sisters god wants us to not only become talkers of the world or our language become saturated by the word but it is god's intention that our minds become saturated through the meditation of the world we should do it day and night in the mornings we should use it as a guide before we take our our break to our beds we should give thought to the world the word of god should be the guiding light the word of god should control our entire being hallelujah can somebody just raise your hands and honor god glory be to the son of god so there should be mental feeling not so much as the eastern meditation when there there is mental emptying we don't empty our minds and try to become one with the universe we empty our thoughts and we we get god's word that we we think like god we talk like god we behave like almighty god glory be to the son of god so we notice we god challenged joshua to talk the word to think the word but god also challenged joshua to walk our work the word to walk our work the word joshua 1 and verse 7 turn not from it to the right or to the left that thou mayest prosper whether so ever though ghost verse 8 be sure to obey everything written in it and this is quite interesting because god is saying joshua you need to ensure that you don't lose focus of the world it is like it it paints a picture of a traveler the traveler he has a map and he is going at a particular location and if he does not follow the path that the map shows him he is going to lose his way just last week i recall i was instructed to come somewhere i did not know the place and i kept journeying all over the place not remembering that i have google map or i have a navigation app so i just enter the address of the location and in minutes i found my place hallelujah we have got to return back to the word of almighty god we are travelers we are sojourners in this world and we need guidance in this world this world is an unfriendly place to us this world my god is not a friend of ours and we need divine guidance in this world so just as how i entered the location and in minutes found the players sometimes we become confused over issues and we don't know what to do pick up the god of mercy pick up the map that god has given to us use the map he will guide you glory to the son of god somebody just worship him so we we talk about saturation of language we talk about saturation of of mind or of thinking we talk about saturation of of of word in our work or our walk my brothers and sisters you know i just brought an example here with a um a sponge along with some water and it is god's intention that we don't stay empty we have the capacity to absorb anything and we cannot afford for our lives to be absorbing what does not bring glory to god we have the capacity and we must use that capacity to absorb when we put our lives in the world of almighty god the capacity hallelujah and i notice um this sponge here it is small but when it absorbs water um everything in this sponge becomes water saggy oh my god when when we when we use our capacity to absorb the word hallelujah from the same word if you notice i lift this sponge and what is coming out of it is water so whenever our lives are saturated our capacity is saturated from the world the next thing that we are going to see is the capability of the word flowing from us hallelujah we don't only want to my god have the capacity and absorb the word but the word the word must flow from us hallelujah the word of almighty god must must demonstrate its capability and not only that it must demonstrate its capability but the same word my god we must carry it wherever we go this the tripping of the somebody squeeze us word must come out of us wherever we go if you notice if you walk with this sponge straight through the aisle all that you will find are trails of um water from the sponge wherever we go hallelujah we must become carriers of the word of god if jamaica is going to experience a revival if jamaica is going to experience true prosperity it comes on the platform that we must create the capacity for the word of god and not only create the capacity but we must demonstrate world capability and not only that we must demonstrate world capability but we must carry the world and anytime we start doing this there is going to be prosperity or productivity my brothers and sisters i believe hallelujah the church of god i i listened to the youth department as they read out their statistics and i was heartened to hear how young people are reading the scripture the children they're in matthew and they must read certain scriptures and my god the t they're just reading certain scriptures and i think i don't know if the adults are also engaged in it but hear me my brothers and sisters i feel that we are creating a generation that is wordswork hallelujah and not only words so but there's going to be word language divine word language and i believe that there is going to be word hallelujah we are going to see word capacity not only word capacity but word capability in action oh somebody praise him glory be to the son of god so god said um saturate israel saturate israel with the word the the other thing that god told joshua to do is not only to make sure that the word is in the full life of israel but you should mobilize the plan so we are not only we are not only saturating but we are mobilizing so gone are the days when the church would do ministry in the four walls i believe that kovit 19 has brought beer pressure on the church that some of us who probably did not want to use the the youtube part the first book my god kovid 19 has pushed us out of the confines of four walls hallelujah covered 19 has allowed the gospel to be brought to every nook and cranny and hear me we cannot allow satan to use all the platforms to advance his purpose the church has a responsibility whatever platform we find i heard the overseer as he spoke in a particular place and he said jesus was a man of the crowd he loved the crowd he's always in the center the nucleus of the crowd because the man had a message can i say as a church as the body of christ we have a message we have the most important the invaluable resources that will get cities out of problems community out of problems i am saying i am proposing i am challenging us as the people of god let us saturate ourselves and let us move out in our communities hallelujah and take what god has promised us you know it's quite interesting to note um sometimes when god gives us instructions to match forward we become negligent and we become fearful and we join the waiting crew to observe and to analyze and to wonder what will happen but it's it's quite interesting that when god told joshua to take the children of israel forward over jordan behind the cabriski because joshua chapter 5 and verse 12 says and the mana seized on the marrow after they had eaten of the old khan of the land neither had the children of israel mana anymore but they did eat of the fruit of the land of kenyan that year so it's interesting when god give forward movement instructions and we disobey and we want to remain stationary and we want to go in in the reverse god is not going to bless the past god puts himself under no obligation to bless what has already been passed hallelujah so god said listen to me the man are going dry up that you were accustomed to in the wilderness my god the clothes that you saw by day and the fire by night you won't see it you you need to go into the land and you need to become productive you need to eat the fruit of the land you need to tease what i have for you in the land can i can i challenge us hallelujah it might be difficult we may having we may be having all types of challenges but can i say to us as the people of god if god said forward god means forward but you know it's interesting to observe how the land was described god said my god exodus three adversaries it's a good land largely prosperous land but interestingly in the land there were squatters persons and groups or groups took over the land that god had promised the children of israel so we look at the kiana knights and summarizing the canaanites they are a group who humiliates so when you decide to make progress in kenya prepare for the forces of humiliation to come against you oh god but if god said it's power it doesn't matter who hallelujah it doesn't matter which skin and i'd say you can't make it make them understand that god has declared that you must move forward there was another group that he tied and he types were the intimidators they were like terrorists they were bully people and my god they breed fear in in the people of god but if god said hallelujah if there are terrorists like the hittites in the land your duty is to move and to take the land it is yours and then you have the parasite the parasites are like the trampling group you have some people they will pull your reputation and if you are not careful who you are in the mood that you cannot even speak but if god say is forward you must move don't allow those who want to pull your name in the mood to stop you there was also the midianites my god and this group was what we call the striving groups they are the warlike groups in fact abraham had to say to the media nice let there be no strife between my herdsmen and your herdsmen he was a mature man but hear me god is saying that that particular spot where the midianites occupy there are strivers they are warmongers god is saying it is our duty to take it oh lord hallelujah and as i come down not only that god promised that he's saturating them but god said i'm not only allowing you to be saturated by the world but i am going to occupy the place with my presence jesus lord have mercy not only that we have the word but we have the presence of god we we don't have battle of fire not a cloud of pillar we don't have manner god is saying i am coming as the omnipresent omniscient god hallelujah god is saying hallelujah just as how i was with moses god said equally to the same degree i will be with you you know when we look at this word you know you know what it really means when god promises his presence god is saying i am marching before you i am marching beside you i am marching behind you he's saying i am above you and i am below you so what he's saying my presence is giving you maximum security oh my god they said don't be afraid in fact there's another word that he used in the text be strong and i like this word strong because it comes from a root word in the in the greek and what this speaks of uh are classes of drugs that are called steroids you know um sometimes athletes may use um these drugs to enhance their performance it is the same word that god was using he said that listen to me joshua hallelujah i am going to give you steroids that you'll have divine stamina your your your performance will be improved and you know joshua really needed it you know because joshua had to fear some goliaths my god joshua 1 5 and verse 6 speaks of goliath's dear my god he said no man shall stand before you there are goliaths 18 to 20 feet tall that joshua and the congregants had to face there were goliaths that worked 12 finger and 12 2 tranmandem my god but you know verse 13 chapter 13 of numbers um numbers and verse 32. it it suggests to me that these giants were also cannibals they were man eaters these these were fearsome serious guys to fear but god said i am i i i soak up with the word hallelujah and god said i soak up with my presence i am not only around you i am above you i am behind you hallelujah you have my presence the same man said i must have the savior with me for i dare not walk alone i must feel his presence near me and his arms around me through then my soul shall fear no ill where he lead me here we will i will go without a murmur and his footsteps follow still as i wrap up god is promising us right in this time kovid has created a lot of challenges and a lot of confusion but when you look at ephesians 6 and verse 18 paul says we are foretake unto you the whole armor of god that you may be able to withstand in the evil days having done all to stand stand and i could really summarize that verse in into heading stand in your armor we must stand in our armor the next thing we must stand in god's strength and if you look at colossians chapter 2 and verse 15 and having disarmed my god authorities he made public spectacle of them triumphing over them you know what this is saying my god we are engaged in a war fear but you don't have to worry you know sometimes you may um you may miss uh let me use a a a football match but you get it delayed somebody make sure that they capture it or you find it on facebook or youtube but you know the outcome you know what the result is hallelujah so my brothers and sisters we're in a warfare that we know what the outcome is and what we're watching is the replay so even my god when man fall man and when man i'm kicked long man and when it seems as though the team going last we know the outcome long time you don't worry about that oh yes sometimes it's in boxing much you see oppa cotton your your side the person who is fighting fire he's down on the ground but he's not out until the umpire counts him out we know the outcome lord of mercy so despite the fact you you may you may get sometimes some uppercut sometimes you might get knocked down but the righteous fall and he stand up my god seven times my brothers and sisters we know the outcome that the church the body of christ we are the winners somebody give him a prayer somebody just raise your hand and say we are the winners as i wrap up i challenge us as we saturate ourselves with the word and with god's spirit i like what isaiah 6 and verse 1 states in the year that king uzziah died isaiah saw the lord high and lifted and his strain fill the temple you know the pagans believe in that time that the the king that is most powerful is the one that has the highest throne and carries the longest robe but when isaiah saw the lord he saw him sitting on the highest throne and his robe his strain fill the temple and this is quite interesting because it is said that the train or the trail of the king speaks of the amount of victories the king has won and to every battle the king fights and emerged as winner he would sow on another piece on the trail so it is classified as a victory trailer of victory robe isaiah not only saw the king on the highest throne but he also saw a god hallelujah that had the longest victory robe and this robe fill the temple lord of mercy hallelujah and i'm not only talking about cooperate temple when we allow god to take his rule and reign and his robe is in our lives my brothers and sisters there's absolutely nothing that can stop the body of christ hallelujah we when the train filled the temple when we come to the house of god in the presence of god we must experience victory for the king of kings that we serve the lord of lords that we serve his trail fill the temple there is no defeat in the temple and not only cooperate temple but our bodies are the temple of the lord so if that trend fill your body hallelujah no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that rise up against you in judgment shall be condemned for this is the heritage of the people of god i challenge us hallelujah we need to bring back the ring through the word we need to bring back the word bring back the reign of god through his presence we need to bring back the robe hallelujah because when the rube and the ring and the rule is in charge my god we are victorious people take back the rule and the reign to the homes into the school rooms into our churches in our market places hallelujah into parliament hallelujah keep it on the lips of our people and with the great national anthem hallelujah that has been eat out of scriptures eternal father who bless our land guard us with your mighty hands i am telling you this little rock called jamaica when the rule and the ring hallelujah and the ruler of god takes preeminence then we can speak of people that are victorious i'm going to invite you all to bow your heads at this time and i believe in my spirit as you have gathered in this convention you have soaked up from different sessions but you are not only you did not only come to the convention to soak you came to the convention to re to leave to serve hallelujah hallelujah i'm challenging every discouragement member probably you have been battered and bruised and you are disheartened and you feel as though you could not make the year but you are here i challenge you in the name of jesus christ of nazareth hallelujah that you will receive the strength of almighty god your life will be saturated by the strength of almighty god lord we commit hallelujah every person every person that we're a part of this convention those who have viewed us online in the name of jesus christ of nazareth we are praying in jesus name that they will leave this convention with new capacity to receive the word hallelujah and as they receive the word my god not only that they will carry the word but my god we will see the capability of the world working in their lives working in their homes working in their churches working in their communities working at their workplaces and working across this nation we declare and we decree hallelujah that god shall be lifted up in this country hallelujah another time a generation will rise up hallelujah and declare that you are in charge and your lord thank you for hearing and ministering in jesus name we pray amen god bless you [Music] as i travel through this pilgrimage there is a friend who walks with me and he leads me safely through the sinking [Music] well this would be my prayer dear lord each day may i beg you help me do the best that i can for in these dark times for i need my light to guide one who is fighting for us so we have not to fear if jehovah is leading us thank you jesus hallelujah [Music] what a high note on which to end convention 2021 god has met with us in no uncertain way i am sure for those of you who have joined us for the various sessions have been edified and blessed and you are leaving this convention in a better position spiritually than you came so now to bring these three days of great feast to an end i invite our administrative bishop the reverent doctor i noticed to speak to us at this time can we make him welcome at this time greetings my brothers and sisters please join with me as we give praise and thanks to almighty god for his goodness to us over this weekend what a weekend it has been god has showed up in a marvelous way and god has blessed us richly wherever you are could you just put your hands together raise your voices as we celebrate the goodness of almighty god this evening we celebrate god's unfailing love we celebrate god's unending grace and we celebrate god's incomparable power and we have experienced all of that over the course of this weekend this has been a compact weekend of fellowship ministry in the word and inspirational spirit-led worship thank you so much for participating in the different ways that you did so many of you attended our online sessions many of you involved got involved in promoting the sessions many of you also prayed that god would move marvelously in this weekend and so i say to all of you may the god of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the holy ghost can we clap our hands again as we give praise to almighty god the national executive council and i are indebted to you for your ongoing support to the denomination though the convention took on an unusual form this year this substance and the support were still intact dr banz our convention chair along with her team did an excellent job in planning organizing and ensuring that all our different sessions run smoothly i commend you dr barnes i also commend the technical team for their expertise the team from the eastwood park church must be commended highly for the support that you have given to us i want to thank all our district pastors our pastors our ministry leaders and all our members for standing by your church in this difficult season i want to encourage us to keep walking with the lord as i officially close convention 2021 the convention that the pandemic did not stop i remind you of our theme forward together with integrity and power i invite every member every sunday school teacher every sunday school student every ministry leader all our members and friends to remain committed to a life of integrity and remember that the power that we have it is borrowed power it is really the power of the holy spirit we can only stand strong if we lean on the everlasting arms of our god i invite you brothers and sisters to also join with us in the la on the last sunday of july as we celebrate bishop and sister blair for their sterling contribution to the new testament church of god in jamaica we will be having a retirement and appreciation service for them and we want our specially invited guests to gather with us at the portmore church but we invite all of you brothers and sisters to tune in online as we celebrate these stalwarts for the lord the new church year begins in september under the theme forward together with discipline courage and hope may the grace of the lord jesus christ the love of god and the
