Throwing a Dart at a Map and Flying Anywhere It Lands...

all right it's time for the second episode of Barney and I doing something extremely uncomfortable we are right now about to throw a dart at this map here and we're gonna book tickets for tomorrow morning to fly to wherever it says we should go wherever the dart lands with no plans no hotel booked overnight but we were gonna stay there for one night and just see what happens we were gonna lay this on the ground right here I'm gonna step back I actually don't know how accurate I am with these Barney so we'll see I don't know follow me back here hey I can hit it from here Barney it's a pretty good distance I don't know this might not be a first try type thing we've been throwing these darts for over five minutes now still haven't hit it but now we're just trying behind the back does it count get a stick and take this count though doesn't need a stick and hit it definitely hit Colorado we're going to Colorado what city we're between Zagora and West Cliff we're gonna pull this up on a map and see exactly where that is in Colorado let's go check it out and I'm gonna see where exactly this is something I kind of figure out how to use Google Earth okay now we're going where's oh there's okay West cliff is down here oh we are in the mountains dude the dart hit right there what is that electric Peak cottonwood peak that's right where the dark hit we're gonna go get some tickets right now see what this flights gonna run us see where we're flying into because I don't know which Airport is in the mountain peak we had to book actually flights into Denver because it was like $1,500 a ticket to fly directly into like the airport that's right around west cliff I don't remember what that was called so we're flying into Denver our flight leaves at 12:30 tomorrow in the afternoon and then from there we're gonna rent a car however we don't have the car rental set up because Barney and I said we're not gonna make any plans yeah I'm just gonna fly in we're staying one night and no plans for hotel or anything like that but we are going to pack for a hike it's a three-hour drive from Denver to West Cliff in the mountain ranges right next to there so we are gonna do a hike maybe unless God says not today when we get in let's see what God's plan for us man we'll see what happens we're all booked up so we'll see everybody tomorrow I'm nervous Oh Barney Barney Barney one last thing look the weather in west cliff guess what it is sunny sunshine and rainbows really let me see that sunshine baby it looks like it might be good day for all right let's get it are you ready I'm ready man we got our new clothes need a shave though this morning all packed up ready to rock head it's the airport right now we'll see you there [Music] we're here ready bunny I'm ready man well I think I'm ready I got all the camera equipment I just have basically clothes in my backpack and my toothbrush and and snacks [Music] all right we just landed and so far the plan is do what we initially said which is go and get a rental car because we've got to go three hours south of Denver right now it was a good flight i sat next to probably the most interesting man on that flight yeah it has people as well I said next a nice people and I think Keith got me beat on the interesting part I think I got a beat let's go see where we go to get a rental car we're gonna figure out right now whether we're going to go to a rental car place and get a car or we're gonna use the turo app which we've never used before in order to get get a car it's just not a sponsored video tour Oh if you wanna sponsor us then do that we'll see that would have been a great integration still haven't got our core yet and Baris been busy playing fantasy football hey you're exposed to me and I'm also setting up the turo account duty son chill chill chill well it took us about an hour but we finally got a car set up because Barney and I didn't make any plans ahead of time so it took us a little while to get the car go you got a car with an awesome person we're just waiting for the instructions to where we go and pick up the car that's how thorough works you just go and pick up the car from somebody and use their car so we're gonna go use somebody's car let's go find it guys we got it we got the Land Rover cuz we're going up in the mountains we actually don't know if we're gonna need it or not but it was the easiest one for us to get ontero you forked over a little bit more but it's got a shoot pictures to see if they're so that we don't get blamed for any damage we drive careful we drive careful so we got the Land Rover and we're gonna start tracking [Applause] we have got the car we are on the road only mission now is get to exactly where that dart landed so we've got about a four-hour drive ahead of us right now Barney we are gonna make it though I think you guys are driving through and we're getting in the mountain area now we went through some Colorado traffic but this area is just beautiful so we're gonna try and do some justice for you here [Music] all right we have finally arrived it was closer to five and a half to six hours because of traffic but we are here it is pitch dark but the trail to the exact spot where the arrow or the the dart I should say hit is right behind us obviously since we made no plans we've got the car parked on the side of this dirt road and we are going to crash in the car tonight and then tomorrow early we're gonna be hiking up the back of the cell Barney show them the sky I don't know if you can see this but the stars are out and they look incredible no I can't see anything I don't know how this lighting is working right now or how this audio is gonna pick up but small update for you it is right now like 12:30 at night we've been trying to fall asleep for like the last two hours but since we didn't make any plans we're sleeping in the back of the car with no pillows no blankets and parked on a hill because that's where this location is at so neither of us have slept at all and I have just been twisting and turning and the car is getting actually a little bit cold now slightly uncomfortable but that being said still very grateful this is still a big blessing compared to what a lot of people in the world are sleeping like on a nightly basis so we are gonna keep trying to go to sleep and be up bright and early definitely because there's gonna be no sleeping in so we'll be back in the morning good night all right it's almost 6:00 a.m. maybe one hour of sleep my heart literally pours out for everybody that's having to sleep outside right now in the world it is so cold and shivering all night long and so incredibly uncomfortable and I know that right now being able to be in a car is a huge blessing my heart is just aching for people that are outside right now we're going to be up in maybe 15-20 minutes to get started on this hike to go to the exact location of that Dart I'm so cold Barney one freezing cold night later getting ready to get to the final destination I gotta do something serve and prove today this was the sleeping situations last night that was where I slept and I am scarred I am bundled up into like four layers I'm gonna brush my teeth too my hand is shaking cuz I'm so cold right now and we are gonna get started on this hike but of course deodorant new change of boxers and brush your teeth I'm too cold all right the hike begins hey all the way to the top let's take a look at the board bro I got like six layers on buck what do we have sneeze deep crystal wilderness be aware store food properly it's all on our bodies and in our car I'm going for the log Barney [Music] Hey work it Barney work it baby we've got quite a bit of a hike in front of us dude I'm telling you come from Dallas and 80 degree 90 degree heat to see my homies in the mountains is a bit drastic it is very very very cold out gotta make sure we keep the body moving come on Barney don't slow down don't slow down Barney oh sandy look we got to the beach well look at that out there saying Dallas anymore look at this outfit if you look like a mountain man look at those good solid hiking boots right there wasn't ready oh listen Hawks ready for this [Music] all right uber thank you for like 30 minutes so far this is not an easy hike done a few hikes before this is not an easy hike neither Barney or I looked up the difficulty before we got out here because no plans we said 30 minutes in tired look what we just found over here it's fenced off there's a trailhead behind it though it's just so mysterious look they got the antler looking guarded fence barri don't enter and it's fenced up that way with barbed wire fence down that direction with barbed wire I don't think you could see it really the barbed wire but this spot right here is the only spot where should we go this way Barney that's the right way it's right away go get some water I think the reason it's blocked off though Barney is because it's meant to keep everyone out except for us don't you lose talk so hard hike speaking of which let's keep it moving you know what the water that's all the water we have left tell me you brought your water I brought my water we're good we'll go check it out real fast see if there's anything that's immediate but I'm mad tired and I got a run so I'm gonna keep Barney wait I'm so good as a reg opening right up over here let's see oh my word Wow that's freaking gorgeous can't be here too long back to Barney let's rock and roll it looks like we're getting towards the top the peak looks like looks like it's right up there could be a tease Menke were just talking about this terrains hard but we're in Colorado and it's we're really high elevations to the air is little bit not a lot of oxygen there you can kill your heart beating really heavy to try and get everything fueled up lawsuit also Barney you're gonna in trouble speaking right now we rocks to reach the first piece [Music] we just started off again after we reach that first little peak there and as we're walking by there's this valley right here that is absolutely sick so we want to show you guys look at how beautiful that is honestly it probably was a farmer that just came out here with a rake just raked down all the trees by hand breaking trees sounds like a pretty solid reason to me I don't know off we go Barney Oh [Music] I'm getting those they give you stare at the Sun the Sun blots say if I have a look at the Sun it's pretty shady out here I'm just like the lack of oxygen at this altitude it's it's pretty intense it's really intense actually we are two hours into this hike now we are tired but I wish every single time that I'm talking on camera Barney's creating a loogie right behind the camera give me my spotlight Barney let me have my spotlight Barney I'll be my survival that's me all right all right we gotta go though we gotta get [Music] Barney whatever will we do normally it's going to be a problem 100 so don't make it I'm so darn tired epic music [Music] guys we are officially above the tree line as you can see it's all rock from this point if you don't know why I'm going to explain why but I don't know why but I think it's because there's not enough oxygen at this elevation for trees to actually grow effectively so all the trees grow a little bit farther down the mountain and down to the base because there's not enough oxygen up here for them to actually grow successfully we are dead we've been at this for about three hours we think we're getting closer to the destination though just a little bit farther to go Barney final stretch one step at a time let's go [Music] Barty we made it we made it I was a hard hike it's so beautiful here it is guys hopefully the Sun doesn't absolutely but you're it I gotta get down to show you from the from the water level from the water level it looks absolutely gorgeous [Music] that was hard oh it was hard anything we were gonna make it especially towards the end there I was getting ready to turn back that was we saw this Ram we were getting up towards the top and both Barney and I were really really really struggling we were not prepared for hike of this magnitude we were really struggling and right across in the path in front of us probably like ten feet in front of us this Ram comes out into the pathway and stares at us and then runs off in a different direction right in the sunlight the the Sun was like bouncing off it it looked mad majestic [Music] this is where the dart landed the exact location not a city nearby this is the exact location that our dart landed one flight from Dallas to Denver a five and a half hour car ride a cold night's rest with one hour of sleep and a three and a half almost wire hike later we've made it to the dart location we did it [Applause] [Music] all right Barney you ready let's head home all right guys Barney and I spent a little bit of time in prayer and it's time to head back home [Music] rakh we're here at the end of this journey and it was a lot harder than I work he expected it to be just the hike itself was so much more than we're expecting that altitude made it really hard and you might have seen that I was choked up at the end when we finally made it to the lake and that's because the last third of that hike was extremely difficult the whole way Keith was really supportive and saying like we got this we're gonna make it and God alternately came through and just brought us to where we wanted to get exactly where our dart hit I would kind of saw it as a resemblance of our entire journey not just this video but all from the start to here and I want to say like we didn't get here by ourselves we've had the support of people like Preston friends family along the way God our faith all coming together and supporting us to this point and I just wanted to say and make this video indicative of go out there and do something that is helpful do something that's good maybe you have a few bucks lying around you can donate to make a meal for someone help someone else fill their belly maybe you can take some your time and go to soup kitchen someone's getting bullied in your school get out there and do something good just help spread the love we hope that what we're doing is spreading some love into your lives
