Thrifting At the Goodwill Bins and Organizing Our Hoarder Pile In The Garage - Reselling For Profit

[Music] Misty Mountains Dusty roads ahead we're at the bins I think they just did a switch out cuz it's right at noon but Jamie is eating a piece of pizza we picked up at the gas station and she's going to be a sec but I'm running in it doesn't look like a fresh frenzy switch out but we'll see oh first victim that's a good one it's a little fuzzy I think I can work with it today is looking good I only have one item and I've already got a cart and I think I see a yellow afin peeking up right here I like that one too it's smaller like a lap apkin or for a little baby that's good though Zeb and I are at the Goodwill Outlets today he is already inside I was finishing up my lunch that I bought at the Maverick I was starving we love going to the Goodwill bins we're always looking for quilt and Afghans I'm going to be particular with the Afghans are still selling but people really just want the unique ones but any quilts I'm going to grab those for sure we'll see if we can find Zeb in here he's probably at the books I spy with my little eye he's not at the books he's all the way across so I'll see where he's at I just got done telling him we were going to be picky and about the Afghans but looks like you found some good ones this is beautiful this one kind of fuzzy but I think we can sweater shave it and it'll be fine and I we have we don't have any yellow ones yeah and that's like a nice size it's perfect for a little baby or even like a lap bin and I feel like we're winning you got a cart yeah yeah so I found this and as X-Wing do we need it and what did you say yeah yeah get it for the boys found this baby carrier it's not something we normally pick up but these retail for about $100 and this one is almost brand new so I'll take it home and wash it and see if I can find somebody that needs it if I can't find anybody locally then I'll sell it on the website this tin is pretty fun I just I was looking at it's not old but it's a product of Sweden I actually really love the design on it it's probably from Ikea or something who knows but I like the tin I don't know why maybe it's the camper and me it's just it's got kind of like a basic design but this little stainless still creamer is pretty fun I like that it's got its lid trying to read that you know I'm not passing on a good bunt it's really clean on the inside just looks like it's been in the Pand drawer or cupboard a lot I just got done saying I never find home decor here look at this giant tray probably originally from Hobby Lobby but be so cute painted I'm going to grab this just about the cutest lamb I ever did see wash her up put a bow on her she's going to come home with me see what else I got oh look at this koala from Australia that's cute last week we bought a ton of vintage pillowcases and sheets and pretty much all of them sold so I'm going to grab this one it's really cute does look like it has a small oh that's just a fuzzy it's a good shape so I just found this it's brand new it's a wine and cheese tote insulated but you know Jamie would uh she'd be dropping Dr Peppers in this she still might put cheese in there wouldn't put a past her okay 15 books 15 books we did it last week and it actually worked out really well we sold about as many books as I got so now we can have some for inventory in the store cuz we've always had a few books so I was flipping through this book it's not crazy old looks like it was gifted to someone which I always love but look at the age on all the pages last copyright 1947 on this but man look at that it's just dying to be ephemera I'm tempted to get this Curious George it's an older one 1958 I love this pillowcase with a little floral it does have a stain but it's worth taking home to see if I can oxy clean it out here's another floral pillowcase going in my very floral stack couple weeks ago we picked up a mustardy gold velvet quilt and this one is like a cream I don't know what size the brand is threshold sometime full Queen I'll grab this for sure I love velvet I have a purple velvet one that I kept for myself and I'm obsessed with it beautiful embroidered a pillowcase here all neatly folded looks like it does have some staining I'm going to go through a lot of oxy clean this week but I would even use this just cut this off and use it for something I don't know if we still have this I think we might have sold the version we have this one's got a little tear in the top but I think we've purchased this one before it's Illustrated version Eliza found me this book Naval History it's got a lot of cool pictures in it good coffee table book we'll put it I only get 15 books so we'll put it on the maybe pile all right I just checked to be sure we still have our copy so I'm not going to get a second one oh that's a really cool tote so I'm trying to keep it separate oh cuz last time she just weighed my cart and we took a couple things out so I said I was going to slow my roll on Afghans but I like the colors on this it's kind of pendletones so this is a sunset recipe annual which has all the best recipes from the magazine and it's like brand new like it's barely been cracked open like the spine is still cracking so I'm going to grab that it's from 1989 sometimes I just buy stuff for friends our next door neighbors Richard and Angie are uh Catholic so I think they'll enjoy this book and if they don't want it Maria might want it too this kind of fun it's the Vatican cookbook I'm tempted to get this one just because I bet they got a delicious recipe for some braz ribs in here 1965 can't leave this one here around the world with Captain Parker 1902 look at the age just tons of pictures even the introduction even gifted in 1904 another really great coffee table book horses are super popular so I'm definitely going to grab this the book of The Horse Eliza found a granny Chic pillowcase it passes the test load her up cool cookbook and originally $40 and the actual cookbook is like very welld designed lots of French cooking and is J pepen celebrates 200 of his most memorable recipes found the cutest little vintage Romper with a ruffle bottom look at the tag it's like 9 months old made in the USA coming home with me Eliza says this is actually cute even it's definitely got some hand stitching in it I don't know if it's mass produced I'll check it when I get home what did you call that crusty Dusty [Laughter] stuff yes every day right that's everyday wear it's just like a fun coffee table book I got to get it it's cracking me up well hello there what do we have here it's got a sleeve I love the cover on it I don't know how old it is printed in England the last two bins on your Markus there go was it worth it yeah this colander is a little dented but I like the pattern on it and I think I can push that out I found this it's just a TW oh it's Donald Duck and Mickey and Minnie it's like a canvas tote that's so cute I like that it's TW heavy duty canvas I'm going to pick this up so I found this one and then lo and behold on the floor here's the other matching pillow sham quilted jackets are really trending this one looks like it's two-sided I'll have to try it on for size that's really pretty and there's another Afghan I like the colors the zigzags always do well for us so I'm going to grab it Jamie's over here super excited she didn't even know she found the matching qu uh Shams to her quilt one of them was on the floor nice look at that and another I think it's time to go this back and the bag zev's already in the car but I want to show you what we got it was only $72 we rounded up for charity but entire back of the car full for 72 bucks that's pretty good all right I know it looks like a mess but it's really not that much of a mess we did the wood floors since the last clean out this is some scraps I kept I'm probably just going to throw those away I don't need them and then this is all just Thrift hul stuff that we haven't been putting on the shelves it's usually happens after we have a busy week or two or been sick and the kids have been sick and then we hustle to get everything done and go crazy but it doesn't really get cleaned up good only a hoarder would say it's not that big of a mess feeling slightly judged right now but it's not it really isn't that big of a mess we're going to have this cleaned up we're going to dedicate about an hour to it and then we're going to pick each going to pick something that is not going back in on the shelves and we're going to go ahead and do a makeover on that one of the things not moving is our Kiln someday we'll use it and it's way too heavy to move so that's going to live there for a minute not today I'm going to come over with the tractor and put it on a trailer and these are my bibs that I wear to the property so those are going to stay there too actually you probably could put those up it's going to be in the 70s as soon as we take that to the shop we're going to need it here well we haven't done wood floors in about 4 months so I think we're all right this is the real reason we're cleaning I was trying to get through this week's Thrift haul to get the stuff that need to be painted I stepped on the scroll saw and I didn't realize that this is not like set like secured I slipped and fell and hit my chin right here and I was like the big sander yeah like that's got to go I don't need that anymore in my life we literally have not had the sander and the miner has been here in the way since we did the wood floors that's what I'm talking about like we get real busy and then stuff gets forgotten about and then we clean it when it's like dire and like a lot of the stuff is just from this week so we just have to organize it get everything that needs to be painted up on the shelves and then have this week's haul back that way we got Stadium seats in here that need to go probably in the garage and also there's a or in the basement there's also a wagon like we don't need that out right now for the challenge today I am going to pick one large thing and fix it so we're going to take this Monae picture into the house paint the frame so we can get it out of the garage I would do that mirror but that mirror is going to be a lot easier to spray so that'll be next week when we do a bunch of spraying I'm not going to pick one large one I'm going to pick two small ones this never got sanded and this was actually broken I've glued it together really well and it just needs sanded in a couple chips around the top I'm going to going to sand these two oil this one and we'll be done what do we have here horse from October in England listen I'm not ashamed this is not from October is this from the first time it's from the first time we went well a year so it's it'll be two years it's October two times ago they're also I also have a other things from England so I'm not no judgment there but we'll get that listed listen if I wasn't busy all the time I'd be like oh why haven't I gotten to this but I'm busy every day he's a busy man it's fine we'll just put it here we'll worry about it later it's like a goblin all right what are we at about 45 minutes we still have to take some stuff over the ranger is full but we can walk in here that stuff's not going over until I get time to go get the tractor and bring a trailer and load that all up take that over there but this is this week's haul and that's just going to all get and it's just going to P be pushed right over there and then we'll have lots more room and then like it's just you don't realize when you just leave a few things and a few more things it adds up and sometimes you feel like if you can't get it all the way clean you won't do it but I challenge you guys if you have an era you've been putting off just set a timer and get it done all right that bike's going to go to the neighbor this bike is Jacks lots more room so we can buy more stuff no lots more room so we can like maneuver and if we have to put something in the garage we actually have space cuz this is like all work stuff and eventually all these tools are going to be gone and then we'll have just this kind of more organized yeah I'll park the ranger in here I think some of this stuff can also go to the barn most of this stuff can go to the barn and I want to move the camping stuff back over here oh I didn't know that if you do that I think we need to get one of those things you know yeah we could put a couple in here there okay let's go paint all right before we duck inside this just has like some chips on this marble this is 320 grit and then I might polish it with like a magic eraser cuz you can polish marble with magic [Music] eraser So Jamie found a little treasure while we were in there this box broke shipping it back from England so we're just going to get it glued back it's a really fun little box very ornate that's all sanded it just needed oil turned out great the oil will bring all that grain back and make it pop we're going to use some sweet picking tongue oil on it this has got a little dull from sanding it real quick this is our baking soda we keep it in here baking soda water and a magic eraser is what I'm going to use I don't need a clean one I need an old busted worn out magic raser just a little bit of water this is my crusty old busted Magic Eraser that thing is and we're just going to Polish Polish Polish for about 10 minutes maybe a little less and get this shiny again all right got this all scrubbed up it's still a little cloudy but I think that's from the baking soda I'm going to go rinse that off look at the clarity we got some of that marble veining back I'm a little Dusty from the garage but we are going to get this painted it's all scratched up and we took everything out because there was something under the glass like yeah weird it almost looked like like a piece of yeah or like a Christmas tree needle like a fake Christmas tree we're just going to put on two coats of juniper and maybe lightly distressed to the dark green and this is going to pair really well with that Monae art and then it'll be ready for the shop and out of the garage my tongue oil bottle is dirty from tongue oil but it's all natural non-toxic food safe it's why we use it just a about a tablespoon there and that'll be enough oops sliding all over the place that will be enough to condition this whole board so I just want to add a little bit of age to this bring back some of that dark green so I'm just sanding kind of on the high spots here the other thing is there were just a few little peekaboos that I didn't feel like hold on I need to I had to drip what you dripped yes anyways I had a few peekaboos that I didn't feel like painting again so distressing makes it look good then zeb's going to come do gold wax while I'm doing carpool and get this put back together that dark green almost looks like black coming through yeah it's a really good [Music] contrast got the golden rule it's not going to take a lot just on the tops I might wipe some of this back all right got the gold wax all around you can see I got a little messy over there enter the paper towel this will help us smooth it out so I'm not trying to pull it all off just trying to blend it down so it doesn't have like a sharp contrasty line you want to do this when the wax is pretty fresh it's only been sitting on here a minute or two okay fold these tabs over we're going to put more brown paper on the back of this just like it had before however the brown paper is over at the shop so that will happen later all right the Monet is done we have four projects we got out of the garage it's organized I will have Zeb do a slow pan of everything we purchased at the bins hopefully this motivates you to give yourself like an hour to just get stuff done and make it better than it was before yeah so you got room to go buy more stuff we use juniper and gold wax on this I
