once a month and before we get started i just want to say thank you all so much for watching our first video it is about to start y'all we put so much hard work into this video and it means so much that you even clicked on it and i promise y'all we will not disappoint today we're going to be diving deep into the story of elijah and christine so be sure to grab a snack grab your life vest because we're about to dive deep we've never really told the story about like how we got started and how we met and everything before the dynamic duo met elijah was working for a marketing company in ohio and began gaining popularity on twitter for starting a viral petition to get party in the usa by miley cyrus as the new national anthem he also hosted a weekly internet prank with college humor christine was living in chicago and she was going to college that is when she started her vine account and it wasn't very long before some of christine's vines started going viral happy christmas it's christmas merry christmas merry chrysler and she quickly started to gain a following so how you guys met each other though it was like through twitter yeah how did the first exchange go do you remember i was working because i had a marketing company that i was running i wanted me to get like influencers for it and so i was like all right we have to talk to this girl and i was like she's gonna blow up quickly because like all of her [ __ ] with a ton of likes we just became friends and then he quit the company and then then it only existed to like bring us together from there their friendship progressed christine would visit elijah frequently they would make one-off videos together just hang out and have a good time elijah ended up moving from ohio to la and christine ended up leaving college to pursue her comedy career and also move to los angeles and that was the start of what we know as elijah and christine honestly me and christine should just accept this one because we're fairly similar to the dolan twins we're both super hot don't forget i'm talented untalented absolutely [Music] [Music] so christine's moved to la and she's doing her thing she starts to find moderate success and her and elijah blow my back out daniel start vlogging together i'm roxy andrews and i'm here to make it clear i'm roxy andrews and i need to make it clear [Laughter] and for the next two years things just went up from there and to be honest the vlogs look really fun and it looks like a non-stop party they come from a time on youtube when rapid fire shock comedy was the thing to do they had a really charming way of doing it they even said once they hit 1 million subscribers they were going to get married and i just want to spend the rest of my life with you [Music] will you marry me will you marry me yes they were the anti-youtubers of the time they made fun of every trend every stereotype and they grew a massive following they weren't polished and that's what people liked they were real i was just like farting so bad in that crowd it was so funny but to the point where even when i was standing everybody around us was like do you smell that after finishing a strong 2016 they kicked off 2017 right with the viral hits bing bong which was a parody of the chainsmokers song closer featuring halsey they kept having viral hit after viral hit especially after christine was in the swiss swish music video with katy perry and elijah called her out for making obvious fat jokes saying i'm probably being overprotective but like it's kind of [ __ ] up katy perry labeled christine as shaquille o'meals in her music video like why beg someone to be in your quirky little music video just to make them eat the whole time so you can make fat jokes lmfao someone asked him did christine not know what she was signing up for like did they let her know what it was and elijah said lmfao she was just asked to be on the basketball team i saw on twitter everyone was like i'm gonna talk about this kind of seriously so everyone on twitter is saying that it was just one big fat joke at my expense and i get that i'm also seeing people saying well she knew what she was doing if she didn't have a problem with it why didn't she say something one i don't have a problem with it two if i did have a problem with it i had no idea what i was getting into the only information i had before i showed up on set was that it was a basketball team and i was on katie's basketball i didn't know that they were gonna call me shaquille o'meal and i don't care what the internet says i my comedy is not based on my weight so yeah you've never like you're like eating it has never been your brain and people who think that just because i'm fat my comedy they don't like it's just like it's just so like that's the reason that's the only reason i'll be mad about this is because it kind of like perpetuates that stereotype so team 10 is shaking right now i'm about to introduce you to a new group the new power group here we go guys here is the app pack everyone oh you guys are all supposed to be paying attention this is not working as well so i'm gonna quickly introduce you guys to everyone okay we have tana here [Music] during elijah and christine's rise to fame in 2016 and 17 we saw the rise of youtuber houses as well where investors would put millions of dollars behind houses of youtubers so they could have a portion of their merch brand deals and more with team 10 spearheading this phenomenon elijah and christine always had a way of making fun of other youtubers so they started their own team 10 called the app pack the primary 10 members of the app pack consisted of trevi moran piano mojo chris clemons brennan taylor karinacom bradley jack baron ashley schwann andrew lo elijah and christine with the app pack in full force they were ready to dominate youtube everybody welcome christine to the show [Music] one of the biggest publicity stunts that elijah and christine ever pulled off was going on the mori show talking about elijah cheating on christine with tana mojo that you've been with christine have you had a contact of any kind with any other man no you said no the lie detected tested german this video racked up nearly 25 million views on youtube and just further cemented how elijah and christine weren't like other youtubers they saw someone climb a hill and they climbed an entire mountain range they were always five steps ahead of everyone one of the main reasons for elijah and christine's rapid rise is their chemistry but soon fans started to notice something was off i feel like that many people came back into people you ever hear about me that's called a serial killer from one direction what no anyway my point was just that that's not real and it was a made-up thing i had a tie i have a tie-in and it involves one direction and i'm going to kill you tiana i interrupted you though therefore i'm not mad i only get like four more i want the clown goggles back that was a big addition to this podcast i think elijah if he wants to be a rapper you need to wear goggles goggles and that way you get a little screen time oh yeah yeah you bring it yeah tana come on get your little get your social blade up i don't want to because i have a title i don't want to be any i don't want to have anything to do with no i will be awful i'm gonna get tattooed about my eyebrow i'm gonna do it like i'm gonna go all grandma jewelry like full on rapper now we're rappers i'm moving now elijah and christine's rise to fame happened so fast but what seemed to happen just as quickly was their fault after just one year of vlogging together their friendship and partnership went up in flames there have been theories as to why this dynamic duo parted ways and fans definitely noticed in the months leading up to the split that something was off with elijah and christine now for a while elijah and christine worked really well together christine played off of elijah and she was definitely the focus of why i watched and i think why a lot of people watched but since that time like elijah has kind of risen to fame a little bit it's like who am i watching elijah christine and quite frankly between you and i i felt like elijah was kind of bringing christine down a little bit elijah and christine post one more vlog together in december of 2017. called our big announcement and i feel like this last vlog was very symbolic of where their relationship was at in their last vlog they actually were not together elijah was out of town that weekend with tana partying having a good time and christine was at home with chris clemons actually announcing the release of her coloring book a coloring book that she had made with elijah fans did not like that vlog at all and the comment section was mostly people asking christine to drop elijah and take back control of her channel the comments on their final vlog may have been the straw that broke the camel's back because just a few short weeks later christine sends a text to elijah letting him know that she wants to go solo and how did that conversation come about was it a tough one to have uh yeah i was really hard i kind of i slaved over a text for like days because it was my decision um but i think he knew it was coming and i and i think he's fine with it and you guys are cool now yeah for the most part fans knew that they were going solo as soon as they saw the elijah and christine channel switch over to just christine cedelco in january of 2018 they both addressed the split on their own solo channels in very pr videos where they both say that the split was mutual they just wanted to go their own directions and that they are still friends for a whole year i had a lot of fun at the end of the day we both changed i um if you recall used to drink a lot and throw up a lot and um i don't go out as much i really i don't even really drink at all i just stay in i don't really like going out i just like you know watching tv trying to have my dogs whatever hanging out with friends and that doesn't really make for good vlog content i don't think she decided that the logical thing to do would be just to split the channels with her to keep doing like that she wants to do on the main channel that her the rant videos and that's so funny that she was doing before and i wanted to keep doing like vlog type stuff i love christine with my entire heart i know this is gonna hurt a lot of people and this has changed but change can be good the internet wasn't buying that they were on good terms because you never see them together again so of course the rumors were flying as to why elijah and christine really split right before their 1 million subscriber wedding and the theory that seemed to be the most popular amongst fans was that it was because of tana mojo not only do i have a knife for bed but apparently i also have your man people felt as though tana was truly the other woman in the friendship in that once tana moved in with them but she became a bad influence on elijah this is what happens when i hang out with tana for one weekend that the dynamic of the vlogs changed and inevitably that is why the duo split in may of 2018 christine had tana on her podcast don't mess and they actually addressed this rumor everyone really thinks that i had anything to do with like you guys split you i really didn't at all i know and like i feel like no one understands that i'm not out here trying to like debunk that like you want to think that with something i think moving in together is what accelerated that oh you happen to be a part of it but it would have happened if it was just a two and i think that what people also don't realize is like i am like a denominator i could have been anyone yeah and like you guys still would have been the same way and i feel like i never had any intention either obviously you know this of like i'm going to break them up or where i do think elijah and christine would have parted ways tana or notana now let's discuss the app pack and how it contributed to the break up the app pack was formed just right before the split oh wait it's like team 10. don't worry we're gonna be called the app pack the rat how tacky is that the app pack is a prime example of when elijah and christine really started heading in two totally different directions here is the app pack then we have christy elijah was the one who appeared to be spearheading the app pack which is going to be that typical youtuber lifestyle at that time which is merch collabs high energy lots of influencers getting together and christine seemed to be heading in a more introverted lifestyle so joining the app pack didn't make sense for her which brings us to the infamous app pack merch fight between elijah and christine on twitter just two months after they split up on march 5th 2018 christine was launching her own solo merch line and she got a tweet in response to it saying i never got my app pack merch christine responded saying not gonna lie is literally all elijah's fault he said that he'd handle merch then ignored all his responsibilities and didn't fulfill orders so now that i'm finally on my own i went with an actual merch company who will actually do their jobs so you can actually get what you paid for she went on saying i know this sounds shady but i literally don't care anymore i'm not gonna sit here and let people think i scanned them when i was screwed over too elijah responded taking ownership saying 100 my fault merch got up i tried running a merch company and thought i could do it and couldn't and got overwhelmed and lots of things were done wrong with manufacturers and i've literally been working every day to fix it in all the orders none of the merch is christine's fault he put out a few more tweets saying it's his fault and he apologizes then he responded to someone saying it's only like a total of 200 ish orders that had issues out of the thousands and thousands of orders we got it's not a huge massive issue but it still shouldn't have happened and i just want to make sure everyone gets taken care of and is happy christine responded to that tweet saying how about november 2016 when you did literally the same thing with neon 94 merch let's add up those missing orders is it a massive issue now elijah said that he's been fixing orders for weeks everyone who's been tweeting and emailing him has been getting taken care of but if someone was tweeting and emailing christine they would have gotten lost in translation so christine responded saying i afforded you every email and every tweet i've gotten and texted you about it every day for weeks stop lying those tweets are now gone but two days later elijah put out a formal apology and update on the merch situation saying he paired up with the company who's going to help make sure everyone's either refunded or they receive their merch the public fighting didn't stop there five months later in august of 2018 christine started another twitter feud with elijah only this one was much more personal elijah put out this video about david dobrik in some of david's old tweets and christine responded to this video on twitter saying canceling people for things they said when they were 16 isn't fair we all said dumb things when we were young post click bait video trying to cancel one of the biggest youtubers in the world for things he tweeted when he was 16. she said i'm not defending anyone it's just the fact that people can't see through this bs is astounding to me like it pisses me off seeing people praise the fakest person i've ever met for being real and it did not stop there someone responded saying are y'all playing again or and christine said no i'm being serious and the fact that you think that it's fake is because that's what he does he stages things and manipulates and lies and i used to let myself get caught up in it do you remember when we had me and elijah did that fake fight tell me about it oh man one of the biggest regrets was he convinced me like or talked me into fake fighting on twitter for like a video and it was the dumbest cringiest like me being like you only hang out with tana like blah blah blah blah oh and then you were kind of stupid i'm like i look back i'm like why did i let him like yeah like why did i let myself do that like that was so dumb damn and so that when we all lived together no it was like before i feel like like me and you kind of fought too right like you were all like fake twitter fighting oh that's right yeah yeah but like but it was different than that because that was like intended for people to see it as sarcasm but we did like one where we staged it as like a real fight and it was the stupidest thing someone asked elijah if he was going to defend himself and he said no i've said nothing negative about her and i'm not going to start now we don't even talk anymore and i still talk to her manager every week checking in on her i'll always be the villain i don't care anymore christine responded saying it's funny you use the word villain because i distinctly remember you debating whether or not to go full villain to gain fans after the channel breakup elijah responded saying full villain as in not caring anymore which is what i did you tried to drag me in every podcast you did interviews about our channel split your pinned tweet is me you know i love you like a sister but i'm really done with this it actually hurts please move on christine put out one last tweet which really just aired all her grievances with elijah she said elijah was a terrible friend to me he gasled at me lied to me about business things never followed through on promises refused to talk out any issues in person ruined brand deals with his narcissism and left me hanging constantly while always expecting me to bail him out so elijah and christine are a strange mark on the history of youtube they were a duo unlike any other a duo that rose so fast but came crashing down in a matter of months unfortunately their business and personal relationship was not sustainable they made so many memorable pr stunts that forever impacted the way we look at influencers and fans will hopefully always remember their vlogs fondly so where are they now well for a little while christine sedelka was still producing content and did a podcast called don't mess however she since removed herself from the internet entirely and now only occasionally posts updates on instagram however i don't think that's such a bad thing people loved christine sedelko because she was real and to be honest she seems like she's more happy living her real authentic life and that may mean that we as the audience don't get to see that but that's okay christine's fans want her to be happy and even though we don't get as many updates as we used to i'd like to think she's living her best life now elijah daniel on the other hand you can't open the twitter app without seeing him he's made quite the name for himself with lil and he is literally everywhere he's also done so much charity work including launching his own charity called cult for good that delivers vital supplies to homeless populations affected by 19. he stands firm as the leader of the k-pop army with the ability to trend whatever he wants and he uses that for a lot of good so overall even if elijah and christine are separate they both seem to have
