what's a commonality between Elden ring Starfield and boot Dev the answer is simple you gain XP in all three of them in the case of boot Dev you're going to gain XP levels achievements and complete quest to get to the top of the global leaderboard the folks at boot Dev do it this way because they believe that's the smartest way to learn code and make sure you're never getting bored but not only well and with boot Dev what they're doing here is getting you interact with the platform by having you write a ton of code completing a ton of projects because that's really the only way to learn so what are you waiting for click the link in the description box and use my code Mr Maddy to get 25% off your first payment for boot Dev that's 25% off your first month or year depending on the subscription that you choose let's begin at the top mass extinction is just the starting point for Fallout which was developed for TV by Westworld creators and husband and wife Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy after the incendiary mushroom clouds the story FL flashes forward 219 years how did Humanity fare over two blighted centuries Lucy one of the lead characters played by yellow jacket star Ella Pernell has no clue she has lived her entire life inside a Subterranean Vault where every need and want has been satisfied while generations and generations await the day when it is safe to surface now that is our first big drop there we have timeline placement here the Great War was in 2077 so that puts us in the year of 2296 what makes this all the more fascinating here is this takes place 9 years after Fallout 4 okay so not something I expected here in that I thought they were going to Star Wars it you know Star Wars I love Star Wars but they have a habit of going like hey you know episodes three and four guess what other millionth story we got happening between these two games I thought it may have found an insert point but it's actually if you would continuing the story in a way we're going to see the world continue to evolve and that's really exciting for a number of reasons not only do they have the ability to pull back all the way to yes even Fallout 76 the earliest of Fallout games but to me what's also tremendously exciting is because as we'll get into way later in this video this is Canon is that games are going to have to take what exists here in Fallout the TV show and incorporate it which does one of two things right it makes the show more important and it makes it more exciting as we anticipate its release but it also means if they mess something up there is no undoing that really right you've committed to it being Canon and unless you kind of give it the Brotherhood of Steel tactics treatment where you're like ah yeah it's semic Canon like kind of counts kind of doesn't but they're going in on this and I think the timeline placement here is really important to account for especially because this is on the west coast and this is the furthest we've been in the timeline on the west coast so I'm just very excited on that notion alone when a crisis forces Lucy to venture a above on a rescue mission she finds that the planet above remains a hellscape crawling with giant insects voracious mutant animal Abominations and a human population of sunbaked Misan who make the manners morals and hygiene of the gunslinging old west look like Downtown Abbey the games are about the culture of division in Hales and Have Nots that unfortunately have only gotten more and more acute in this country and around the world over the last decades said Nolan to Vanity Fair so many of us have such naive ideas even now about every 's experiences and it's one of these things I love about America it's this giant manic collection of different experiences different points of view no one says desperation only exacerbates those fissures in Fallout as pernell's do gooders soon discovers Lucy is charming and Plucky and strong and then you see she's confronted with the reality of hey maybe these supposedly virtuous things you grow up with are not necessarily that virtuous if they are virtuous they're couched in a circumstantial virtuousness it's a luxury virtue you have your point of view because you never ran out of food right you guys were able to share everything because you had enough to share so this is a really complicated way of breaking down two things number one they seem to really get Fallout just by the manic collection and the way they break down everyone's different experiences and how the world is transformed I think that's really important especially because Bethesda has staved off a ton of TV and movie pitches for the Fallout franchise until Nolan had this pitch here that they absolutely loved because it was its own story so there was a vision here and understanding which is important but what you're seeing here is a really complex breakdown of every vault is a screwed up experiment right every single one has some type of vault tech experiment ongoing that is really sick and twisted that's manipulating people and experimenting on them and that's the fun of venturing into them so what you're seeing here is that Lucy is going to learn the reality of the supposedly virtuous thing happening in the vault maybe they had a great goal and it's going to be used for something else or it was used for something else it's anybody's guess but that's what it really tells me here is that this is going to be another screwed up vault here in Vault 33 The Fallout series tracks her collision with the hard reality of other people's experiences and what happened to the people who frankly were left behind left to die and we can get a couple of looks here at Ella Perell this one is a shot of her exiting Vault 33 I absolutely love the detail on the Vault suit very much straight from Fallout 4 I would say in the terms of inspired design which I think is working because given the point in the timeline so yeah big fan of the design there and that's one thing you're going to notice is the costume the set design is great you see another shot here that is phenomenal I mean this is like straight out of The Last of Us in a way too in my opinion just because of the way the backpack looks and the Overlook at this entire cityscape here what is this it says Ella pernell's Lucy enters Philly an apparent junkyard that is actually a town of survivors in the remnants of Greater Los Angeles who cobbled together their Village from scrap which is what fall out is all about and that's one of the things I'm really excited about with this show is seeing how America is transformed that is what I fell in love with when I first really started clicking with Fallout was finding these landmarks finding these things that were recognizable and watching them transform what they originally were and how survivors have to use them now and I think that unlocks a ton of creativity so I'm curious to see how they capture that in the show like why is it called Philly for example so really excited about all that let's continue on we have more character details we Lucy isn't the only MC as the Fallout show progresses Lucy's Journey intersects with two other lead characters who are new to the universe one of them is the wannabe Soldier Maximus Aaron Moten the tragic py from the night of who grew up above ground like Lucy but was also raised in a cloistered family of sorts a brutal Collective of Warriors called the Brotherhood of Steel and here you can see Maximus who is a squire next to a Brotherhood of Steel Knight and yes they have again the inspired design from Fallout for when you look at that assault rifle that is one bulky weapon right there so I think that was the major touch Stone visually for the costume and set design is Fallout 4 and that would make sense because Fallout 4 was a game that was themed around rebuilding and when you look at even the art direction of Fallout 4 it was more vibrant and colorful it was less green and drab like maybe you'd find in Fallout 3 or the brown depression if you will of what you'd see in Fallout New Vegas so it makes sense that they're going to keep taking things from fall for so expect to see that the power armor looks incredible here what they describe here is Aaron mten as Maximus the new Squire for a power suit Knight dispatched on behalf of the Brotherhood of Steel max serves the giant seemingly robotic figure of his master with the same naive Fai that Lucy has in her Vault dwellers but unlike her he has a cynical sense of self-preservation that leads him to not always behave honorably or heroically one of the things we've tried to gently sidestep here is the kind of binary thinking like they're the good guys or the bad guys Nolan says whoever the good guys and the bad guys were they destroyed the whole world so now we're in a much more gray area and you'll see here that the Brotherhood of Steel plays a pretty big factor a lot of people thought this was the pridwin it's described here at Vanity Fair Brotherhood of Steel recruits gaze upon the Verte birs hovering around an Airship called the cinin marveling at the rare pieces of high functioning Hardware I love what they're saying here because in Fallout 3 if I had one complaint about the game it would probably be how the Brotherhood of Steel was depicted now at the first time experiencing the Brotherhood of Steel it works you don't really know much about their history so they're kind of the good faction that's just opposed to the evil faction in The Enclave right but then you play the other Fallout games and you find out that the Brotherhood of Steel is almost kind of religious very much controlling like we have to handle the tech like it's us or nobody and that means that they have to make complicated choices I think of Fallout 4 with how they approach synthetics I found that very interesting and so when you look at something like that that doesn't make them necessarily the good guys but depending on your point of view that doesn't really also make them the bad guy so I like that they're already playing with that and you have these conflicting philosophies among main characters and what's most interesting is to see how all of them are going to combine right because we'll get to it there's one character we have yet to discuss that I am so excited about but let's keep going fallout's world is filled by a sprawling Ensemble including Kyle mcclin as Lucy's father the overseer of Vault 33 which essentially makes him the mayor of their Hometown while homeland's Serita chudy is a different kind of leader in this world willing to sacrifice anything for her band of people Moises Arius Who as a child played Rico in Hannah Montana co-stars as Lucy's inquisitive brother Michael Emerson who starred in Nolan's Person of Interest and is best known as hatch inhabitant Benjamin lius on Lost stays above ground this time playing in enigmatic researcher named Wiig most of the desparate parties are chasing an artifact that has the potential to radically change the power dynamic in this world as Nolan puts it now I believe this on the right is Kyle mcclin I I I apologize in a I've checked with a couple people they all think the same thing I Googled pictures many of you don't know this not the best with TV movie analysis cuz I barely watch it I just play games mostly so I don't want to overshoot here but the reason I bring this up is given that we can see on the woman on the left this is Vault 33 you see on the right side it says resistors in series current is the same across each resistor voltage is divided they're working on some device here that's providing some sort of power that looks like Kyle mcclin who would be the overseer and then when you combine that with some of the light narrative details we got earlier that maybe What's Happening Here is not all we think is bright and cheery and joyous what is here could be that artifact or a key to the artifact or just a hidden truth behind this sick and twisted bolt experiment going on it's anybody's yes right now they've done a really good job at creating a lot of Clues and things to be excited about at the same time as not knowing where the overall plot is driving toward but here is I think the most exciting part then there is fallout's wild card its third lead figure the Sinister Bounty Hunter known as the ghoul played by Django Unchained and hateful hates Walton goggin the ghoul is a gruesomely scarred Rough Rider who has a code of honor but also a ruthless streak he is The Good the Bad and the Ugly all rolled into one he's also quite a Survivor having existed for hundreds of years the show occasionally flashes back to the human being he once was a father and husband named Cooper Howard before the nuclear Holocaust turned the world into a cinder and transformed him into an undead noseless Sharp Shooting fiend we get our first look here at Walton gogin as the ghoul which man this looks so badass his face is hidden here you can see in this next shot a closer look at it this was from the leaked trailer by the way so we'll likely see this in full full full detail in motion and everything in a matter of weeks I would imagine however the big complaint here is that he's very like Red Skull very red very uh orange instead of the more beige disgusting kind of green ghoul appearance here they describe it as the nose gives the ghoul a corpse-like appearance he has actually survived for many centuries I think he looks cool he definitely looks different from the usual ghoul that you'd get I expected something a little more if you would Undead looking but most of the ghouls that we've encountered were feral right and so when you think of someone like Hancock from Fallout 4 I expected something more like that more of a beige approach to things here to again make him look more Undead still to me if this is the worst we got not the end of the world but who this character is I just think is so awesome a bounty hunter and our ability to connect to the pre-war so we know we're going to get pre-war segments that to me is extremely exciting uh because this is kind of what we wanted from Fallout 4 in a way we wanted more pre-war time and now we have an angle to the pre-war through this character and given how long he's lived he may intersect into everyone's story in more ways than one so let's see how they're planning to break down his usage in the show where they say in the Fallout games ghouls are typically cannon fodder mindless zombies whose bodies have been mutated by radiation we'll let that one pass the ghoul is a legend distinct among His Kind for his cleverness and cunning there's still something of Cooper Howard the person he used to be within this desicated form Walton's equally adapt at drama and comedy which is so difficult Nolan says there is a chasm in time and a distance between who this guy was and who he's become which for me creates an enormous dramatic question what happened to this guy so we'll walk backwards into that he compares the ghoul to the poetic Virgil in Dante's Inferno someone in this hellish landscape who knows its full scope origin and secrets he becomes our guide and our protagonist in that older world even as we understand him to be the antagonist of the end of the world so my guess here is that he would be if I were to just shoot in the dark here I think that the ghoul is going to have some sort of play into what happened at Vault 33 or what this artifact is and I don't know what the artifact is at the end of the day because it may accomplish something different for everyone naturally it's got to be a piece of technology if the Brotherhood of Steel is involved so that's one step forward you think about previously sought after Tech like the water purifier chip that you had to get in the first Fallout game so it could be something as simple as that something to sustain life or would it be something to dramatically evolve the Wasteland and create more life that's where the narrative implications can get kind of dangerous cuz we got to create room for more postapocalyptic games can't cut it off here right so very interested to see what that is it continues on saying if Lucy is the innocent of the show then the ghoul is her polar opposite damaged and hardened by centuries of endless life in a state of near death he's got a lot of mileage on him but he still got Swagger and a kind of charm to him okay so yeah that's the bulk of the narrative details before we get into some to Howard comments I just I love what I'm hearing and I love what I'm seeing like I feel they get it and at least from a visual standpoint like they're knocking it out of the park which I think the leaks already confirmed to us but now seeing it without any pixelation or offscreen shots or blurred images or you know people quickly snapping like one shot of a crate on set they seem to really get it here and that's encouraging visually we'll see narratively where things go I want to keep an open mind to see how they're tackling things but the way these characters are going to intersect I think now it's just going to really come down to how these characters are written how they interact and how they channel the game right which is where Fallout started how do you still keep that video game energy I'm very keen to see how that's handled but Todd Howard's comments I think firm up maybe a little more confidence on the show he says we've had a lot of conversations over the style of humor level of violence the style of violence says Howard who is an executive producer on the show look Fallout can be very dramatic and dark and post-apocalyptic but you need to weave it in a little bit of a wink I think they threaded that needle really well on the TV show Vault boy not only appears in the show but the imagery even gets an origin story which we won't spoil here that was something that they came up with that's just really smart this is uh I I I don't know if my body's ready for this man The Vault boy has an origin story what what do you mean the Vault boy's got an origin story like this is this is crazy man I'm I'm very excited to learn where my favorite mascot hails from what the idea was uh cuz for them to actually sign off on this I I liked how it was just this sort of the article describes it really well it's sort of this ironic ton deaf imagery like everything's okay even though nothing is okay and it works really well and so I thought it just existed for that artistic purpose but to know they have a story now behind it very keen to see where they go with that then Todd says fans of the games should know that everything in this series is officially part of Fallout lore and Bethesda was careful to make sure that these scripts could Cod exist with previous story lines from gaming titles we view what's happening in the show as Canon says Howard that's what's great when someone else looks at your work and then translate it in some fashion he admits to being envious of some of the show's interpretations and additions I sort of looked at it like ah why didn't we do that so I'm very excited to learn what that is because this could be sort of a cyber Punk moment where you had the base game and then you had Edge Runners and Edge Runners was doing things that the game was not doing and people wanted that in the game and so with Phantom Liberty in patch 2.0 it addressed a lot of that which is also exciting so if this show is inspired and well received and the thesda sees that they may actually take elements from the show and incorporate it in the game so if this is a smash hit this can be really good for all fallout fans involved what the vibe I got from Todd is still that they are insanely protective of Fallout and that means that we're probably not going to get like books or Comics like I've been saying for years you you got to explore that more like there's so much here and for getting a game once every like eight years we need more stuff like this it's super exciting so those are my thoughts on this massive update we got on the Fallout TV show just really really excited for April 12th the roll around I know again we're asking like when's the trailer dropping game awards are soon you get this first look from vanity which means that eventually stuff will go out to the public so maybe we get a first look at the Fallout show at the game awards that's going to be my guess Xbox did just recently say they had important announcements and news that's going to be there at the game awards so they're putting fans on watch so we'll see what comes of it but ladies and gentlemen those are my thoughts let me know what you feel about everything happening with the Fallout TV show down below take great care of yourselves and I will see you next time around stay sexy stay active I love you all peace
