even to be back and and to be with us again well first of all thank you so so much for doing this special tribute only just beginning I mean this is incredible thank you so so much really in this celebration of a wonderful show but I thank you all so much for doing this special tribute to all my children and this is the building where we shot all my children most of those 41 years and the emotions it's an emotional time very happy time so much to be grateful for but coming back here today was very touching to me and I'm so thrilled to be here and so thrilled to see all of you here thank you beautiful you keep keep it we just want to we just want to celebrate you but I mean there was a woman here holding up you know the doll of you you have you we have seen you hold up that dog mama hold it up look at that dog you know this receipt who's in over the years over the years we have seen you in so many fashions and you are such a fashion icon hot you know you you and I remember watching this back in Chicago and you would wear so many wonderful things how have you you know influence fashion Erica Kane oh well I been so much fun I'm Angela again this is you know Agnes Nixon's writing that took us out of the studio on my children I believe was the first to go on location and for me even if it was in our own city that we were working in the Metropolitan Museum and Lincoln Center and all those clothes I'm 5-2 on a good day sure to get to Hawaii high fashion model was very exciting and it introduced this whole world of glamour to a daytime television as well which was very very fun to be part of and something very funny I know one of your favorite scenes I think was the food fight with Adam Chandler that you had can we just discuss because I don't know what way erica was expecting Jack and Jack didn't show up so or Adam took the Bronte bag but what a thrill to work with David canary no matter what the scene you have these makes it that time I have to get this a 13-page seeing the crew stayed in at lunchtime nobody moved we kept running this thing and running this thing cuz it was 13 pages and after squeezing the grapes on Adam we knew we had to get this in one take yeah you know so it was highly choreographed by BH berry the great Broadway coordinator of spice that's an engine yes so we just want her story right we did it at 9:30 at night we did it in one take now I need a lecture now that you are all going home with Susan's memoir that's right you know what you want I think that all my children was going off the air you know after the shock wore off I I called Judy blood Wilson the casting director who originally casted me on the show to see if I could come on the show at least for you know one of the last episodes I mean this is the place to give me my opportunity my first opportunity and for that I'm always going to be great you my family became part of my noon time thing now I TiVo it yeah so every night you're like around six o'clock I want to pour myself a glass of wine I'll sit and then be brought up on what Pine Valley's up to it takes some incredibly creative minds to entertain surprise and delight audiences for four decades of daytime television and we are thrilled and happy to welcome two of those minds right now please welcome all my children creator Agnes Nixon and executive producer Julie Carruthers who's he so I have to ask you Agnes did you ever have any inclination that all my children was going to become the phenomena that it came it became and stay on for 41 years heavens no I mean when the show was 24 years old around that time people were doing their dissertations on soap opera and one woman came to see me and said she was writing her dissertation and she said how long did it take you to write a 24 years long-term story I said honey we were just hoping we'd get renewed after 26 weeks why Susan auditioned for you you knew rock Susan when she auditioned for you I read that you knew right away that she was right she was special so what was it about Susan that screamed Erica Kane T oh well of course she was gorgeous the audition neither was act when when you were putting on the mask ow yes you see I wanted someone what was feisty and didn't pay attention to her mother as I had had to do growing up all my life be very good daughter so instead of studying she was putting masks out and Mawlana said don't you think you should be studying no and I knew that they're doing throw this one to you you've had a career in daytime spending over 25 years executive producer of all my children for eight and despite budget restrictions you have been able to create really heartwarming stories and everyone appreciates that do you have one in mind that just special to you more than any other I think one of the stories I'm the most proud of and there are quite a few but one that stands out is the story on camera of brought Monroe and off-camera of jr. Martinez Bob yeah we had over 600 injured veterans submit themselves for the job none actors and they came in auditioned we met with them and juniors strength courage determination and that infectious smile of his ultimately got him the part always breaking down barriers we love it so we thank you Agnes Nixon and Julie Carruthers when we come back Pine Valley's most popular residents and later on we're making daytime history when Jenny and Greg I've got a whole lifetime of memories here and a whole lifetime of beloved characters that worked here that had such an impact on my life I don't know how to begin to say goodbye to it I don't know that there's a way to ever say goodbye to Pine Valley I've made up all my children's hottest love triangle and the other one loves to make trouble as pine valleys resident evil doctor please join me in welcoming Cameron Mathison Rebecca buttock Alysha we always wear costume huh we used to see them across the hall every single day and be hanging around with each other like a big reunion paroxysmal working some of the crew from our show but I'm actually going to start with Rebecca and Cameron if you don't mind Ryan and Greenlee on-again-off-again the love story both are some of your favorite moments with us wow so many so many how much time do we have I would say my favorite moments um we're off camera laughing our butts off yes every day like I could be in the worst mood ever and I see Cameron and it makes me smile Beckham my on-screen wife longer than my real life would so it's an often sometimes what I mean but it's true yeah we just have so many great memories both off camera and then on when I left the show for a little bit and I came back and I got to work with with these two right here and some just some great great times Andrew so many of course of course my love affair with Erica Kane and we have obviously the friendship pair Lucy I did when you mention the crew you came in today and I saw you just reunited some of them and it was so heartwarming it really was awesome so happy to see them it was like I saw them yesterday and I was like hey you guys and you know I mean Eric and I mean that is Thunderball backstage I mean oh nice to see these people they're very religious yes and you were Rebecca obviously have a great friendship now right but the catfights let's discuss because the cat's like the two of you had on screen I had to be a lot of fun it was honestly that's what started our friendship we had a cat fight with with us in a bridal gown Oh she cut me I know Alicia you and I had a knock-down drag-out and we was in the rain and they had oh and there were slippery cars and then a slippery rain and we didn't rehearse with the rain because you you know we'd be all wet so when we went to taping they had rain come on us the slippery cars and we both had put body lotion on we had no idea how slippery we would be to each other it was really a great day my camera I know you joined all my children in 1998 and you have been such an important fabulous presence on off camera all around and I know that you feel that All My Children has opened some doors for you - I know you do such a great job as a member of the team on Good Morning America you know more so a lot of careers it's it's definitely without a doubt created so many opportunities for me in my life and then as well you know I met my wife and we had our kids while I was on All My Children so both professionally and personally has just been it's at my heart like all my children is is literally part of my heart it's it which is you know why I was so quick to you know when you confessed and told about your character's father's suicide we saw this like vulnerable side of you that we hadn't really seen before we have a clip of that take a look he put the gun to his head my mother stood there motionless and he cut the trigger and then my mother at the last second her expression changed from what a cold duration to fear she started to shout out Charles no but then it was too late know what's great about those scenes were that there was actually a defining moment for my character because before that the audience didn't know why I was the way that I was and Erica had me trapped in a basement for like a week for my hand and a vise okay and Here I am a cardiac surgeon so that's a big deal all right no little thing that your hand is in a vise and I finally she broke me down and and I spoke about my father's suicide and and people got to understand why he is this type of person and I've loved playing this character for these 14 years it's been an amazing journey I know the entire time we just said you play what you know yeah each and every one of your characters Alicia I know that you have some of your fondest memories with Torsten hey who plays your husband what do you love what what did you love about working with Torsten okay well there's there's there's so many things but I think a seven the fact that he's such a great actor he's really funny yeah and very witty and pretty much had me laughing every day that I worked with him every day well we have you know to go to work and laugh like that aside from laugh with all these people you know luck scenes crying scenes whatever we're laughing laughs and it helps lighten the mood and helps to get you through your day so he's he's a funny guy well we have a surprise for everybody because I delivered you I'm Tyson Gay this is the way by the way I don't know if you guys I know that there was someone really special that you wanted to acknowledge today do you want to take that time now yeah we know everyone's talking about other people and I should talk about my spiritual leader wife here but Eileen Hurley Yeah right ladies and you know everyone today she worked with Laurence Olivier and she'd worked with Gielgud and Richard Burton and they say you know she's great because of that and I think maybe those boys were great because they had her more comments about you are it just gets better exit official Oh Greg now will you marry me yes I won't marry you Oh this is a very exciting moment for me and for every all my children fan one of the greatest love stories ever on daytime TV was the relationship of Jenny and Greg they are right here but first let's just take a look back at how it all began just how different we are and your your family your house everything it's fun it's like I said before we may not come from the same backgrounds but we share important things I knew right from the beginning that you were special I've never felt this way about any other girl before like wow Jenny you're right here babies I mean everyone fell in love with you guys as you are falling in love like what are you in your mind like what's the reason behind that because it feels so real to see that clip for you right like I mean you you couldn't really even go out together could you it mean people worship you did yeah sure I know it'll react when they saw you to get their fans to this day have been amazing thank you guys just loves the characters really don't call me Jenny now mister call me grade me for a while I had to wear a baseball cap and sunglasses wherever I went because it was nutty I mean you know getting chased into restaurants and chased into sure that's the guys you know it's just amazing every day that people say Craig where's Jenny Kim you've gone on to do all the stuff army wives NYPD Blue everybody says they're doing the soap opera is the hardest thing because you have lines at the last minute isn't it's a true um see I came right on high school and started with pheasant it was almost like studying again I just went home studied your script got ready for the next day showed up and that's what we did so it's just like I didn't really yeah yeah that was my learning experience and you know and I know Gregg and you've done many things too and guest stars and you're doing a play right now in Virginia from God of Carnage in the Virginia stage one of the most shocking moments in in like TV history when was when you got it was the jet ski explosions do you remember that and you didn't order cover from that kind of thing but I don't know watching this it was just like oh my gosh because that is when Jenny your character was killed we do have that scene let's take a look at that ago Wow they're so funny renegotiate I was not I just she I know it's good if she cries when she writes it in cries when she seizes I never stop crying I know I know how hard this game is great first job it was watching it cuz I actually remember watching that and it was hard how hard was it to film it I know he had to come and turn in fun we had a good time location in New Jersey even harder was the scene where you were in the hospital all you were in the hospital and you were dying and Greg was right by your side so okay now we know how was to film the jet ski explosion how hard was it to do that scene when you're right by Jenny sighs almost it was hard it was very hard kind of like it's hard sitting here right now it's so um this was I I was headed Colin it was a wonderful story it's just a wonderful Romeo and Juliet story that lasted for three years they developed it so gently and so believable is something like Jenny Lee can still remember I mean people ask me about Jenny and Greg they think well Jenny and Greg ever come back what I mean yeah it was first announced that was going off the air I must have eyed one email I had 100 Oh Santa said end of an era yeah it's it was it was we really got to live life through your eyes like you said it was a Romeo and Juliet story because you Jenny you came from the wrong side of the tracks and Greg was this rich kid remember cuz lies that kept trying to break you guys up and never lie about it was always in there the frigid human cancer may sweat and let me come back even even more wonderful people coming on we are going to reunite Jenny and Greg with their two best friends who also have the distinction of being did you say hey I want you to marry me marry you yeah I don't I don't want to wait anymore you know but hey look you love me right and I love you so come on Jess of course I love you the couple who made a time history is all my children's Ginni and Greg and here's a look back at their totally awesome 80s prom with their Bessie and Angie take a look we got some stuff to talk about please welcome Darnell Williams and Debbie Lorca two greatest love stories in history miss Oh Oh Agnes thank you so much you guys and I gotta use your name oh my god when was the last time you guys all saw each other cries hi Chris logging at you guys nightly truly this prom scene was so hysterical look you know when you look at the clothes yeah how much we miss to film with you for we could never get work done when when it was the four of us ah we did I was getting into trouble you're always getting and they would get so angry with us our producer Jackie Babbitt would say that's it we're shooting your scenes at the end of the show and I would say to Darnell well we're not really kids they treated us like we were really 16 years I mean but not fun was probably what made those relationships so real everybody I thinks doesn't when you get our earlier wesa my strong Kim um was on NYPD Blue yeah of you what was it like because your relationship was oh just so wonderful but like outside if you ever went out how were people just asking the ton of questions it's odd because as you went out singularly it was it was one thing but there was one particular time the Debbie and I we went to the movie and there was this rumble that started at a very low Rumble and then Debbie said Darnell run whatever the stop we had we had to run out of the theater because people had done where we came is that Jesse oh is that Angie is that Jess it you'd have thought we were like Michael and Janet Jackson that's amazing the fans have been wonderful feeding years see you guys here and just going on that journey with you as a young girl watching your store did you I mean teenagers would rush home from school to watch the love story unfold with you to see guys realize how much of an effect you were having on teenagers with your romance but not only teenagers but they did you know the way it was written was so beautiful so we did encourage teenagers at that time but you also had John McEnroe I can tell you the people I've run into that used to watch the show Christine oh my god so it's not just teenagers were big fans of the shows when we show a New York Giants invited me to their games there are fans of our 70 rookie let Erica come downstairs and they said why the Yankees are here they'd like to me when reaches when it was Regis and Kathie Lee and his guest that day was Luther Vandross and they were asking me you know what did he do during the afternoons and he said I watch all my children nobody better call me on the phone ring my door and Darnell and I we sort of climbed over the couch behind him and he like freaked out Jessie Angie Ginny and Gregg we love you so much but what you have done for us I'm TV history today with the final television episode of all my children and our cameras caught the emotional last moments on the set that day take a look this isn't a job for those of us who do it it's a life choice it concerns your life and everything you did so to do it you have to love it or you can't do it well and you've been doing it so well treasure it honor it respect it it's unique it doesn't happen every day to have it once in a lifetime is a treasure the great and the leads great switch in the pool or the weak and the strong so that we get a strong in
