their proximity made it inevitable that Michigan and Notre Dame would be football rivals they first met on the gridiron in Notre Dame's initial season of football almost 120 years ago from that point on the two programs fortunes would be intertwined each developing its own rich tradition Yosi Schembechler powered and woodson the equal of rockne Parseghian and a hoarding to this day Michigan and Notre Dame stand atop the list of all-time college football Weir's [Applause] [Music] now with the victors and the victory march echoing through the stadium Michigan and Notre Dame add another chapter to their storied rivalry [Music] [Music] inside Notre Dame Stadium two ranked teams with proud traditions matched up on a warm afternoon in Dover it doesn't get much better 11th ranked Michigan and 2nd ranked Notre Dame the far into the stadium coming out of the tunnel and ready to make their repair [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] the bonnets Notre Dame countdown to kickoff is brought to you by bunny and a few moments ago with the victor sounding through Notre Dame Stadium the Wolverines of Michigan made their appearance the Wolverines ranked 11th of the nation and to a stadium Tom Hammond said he's ready for this great matchup today and of course of the Irish Irish eyes smiling again after the close call to Georgia Tech to open the season they look really good in their win over Penn State a week ago an all-round victory for the Irish and Brady Quinn who was disappointed with his own performance at Georgia Tech was all smiles as well yeah bet back to form was Brady Quinn you couldn't ask for a more efficient game than he gave us last week three touchdown passes did not turn the ball over that is the absolute key thing and tell me no he just he managed the game so Doug and well got a scrambled out of traffic some and he's back in form after that first game and of course as we said it was an all around victory offense defense special tape how about did this year three touchdowns running three touchdown passing the key thing they have not turned the ball over that is absolutely phenomenal on defense they've done just the up they forced three fumbles they returned one of those last week for a touchdown by Tom's epic a/c by the way that is his sixth return touchdown during his career and special teams they punted the ball well they covered well they picked up some hitting yardage there and then Charlie Weis is kind of manhandling the clock he's a half minutes more position five to five on fourth down they've done just everything but Charlie said was yesterday he's looking for a big return today take me turn on the punch 14 well Michigan has done everything right -
