yo what's going on everybody my name is raging fury five five and today today we'll be going over everything about half-dollar hunting from talking about which rolling company gives them silver making your box hunts way more efficient looking at urban versus rural areas talking about selective bank hunting and speed running tactics discussing which banks are the most efficient to hunt for silver and how to liquidate your half dollars the quickest and most efficient way from selling silver half dollars to selling n I've seasoned other errors now this is a comprehensive guide so it will include information for beginners who have just started coral hunting to information I believe will help veterans in a coral hunting scene let's get right into it first let's talk about how to get the most efficient silver output from boxes I would highly recommend to get roughly around ten boxes if you know I'm enough capital to sample that many boxes just sample as many boxes as you can from each major branch such as Chase Wells Fargo Bank of America etc and see which bank produces the most silver this is extremely crucial before you start hunting at least in my area each branch has his own rolling company that provides them with coins for example Bank of America has Harrisburg rolls well as Fargo has Brinks rolls and Chase has a hybrid of Loomis rolls and Harrisburg rolls when I started hunting I sampled roughly around ten boxes from each rolling company with Loomis providing me with a lot of silver Harrisburg provided me not as much but still a consistent amount of silver and Brinks provided me almost no silver now this may be the case for me but each area varies for which company provides the best silver which is why you need a sample half-dollar boxes from each bank now you might wonder why level the silver differ for each rolling company basically I'm not completely sure but I think each rolling company are in charge of a county they receive enrolled coins I come from their County however each rolling company receives coins from a select amount of banks in each county this means if it brings is in charge of a lot of banks that pull out their silver or have clients that take their silver half dollars before they are sent to them that means their boxes will produce less silver this is why it's crucial to figure out which rolling company produces the most silver for you instead of randomly getting boxes only from one bank now let's talk about actual hunting of boxes now box hunts can go several different ways some individuals like hunting are silver and Anna sees only and some people also hunt for valuable errors if you're searching for valuable errors you'll have to go through all the coins individually regardless I won't go too into detail about errors where there are plenty of videos about half to our errors on YouTube but myself I look for this 1974 double D offers and then nineteen eighty-two note FG errors and the hunting for errors however I usually edge hunt which is where you look at the edges of coins and pick out silver and NAICS the reason I do this is that hunting like this is way quicker and easier 40% Silver's were made from 1965 to 1970 usually having a darker gray edge with part of the cloud layer showing however some might have a brighter gray edge that looks extremely similar than 90% of silver half dollars and are extremely difficult even for veteran coral hunters to differentiate it to ninety percent half dollars or maybe for 1965 having a brighter gray edge with a reason to coin commonly worn off and is these are made in 1987 and 2002 to the present day having a brighter copper edge these coins are not meant for circulation and even though they were made from Claude they carry a premium to some buyers now you may be worried that you might have missed out on some ni on CS and Silver's because the edges sometimes blend in with regular half dollars in order to not miss any silver half dollars I would do the sound test where you drop all the half dollars after doing an edge check to make sure you're not missing out on any silver silver has more of a dead clink than regular silver and the sound will stand out I will play the sounds of Clyde of 40% and 90% half dollar sounds now this is also good because errors such as the 1971 and 1977 silver planchet error coins will be easy to catch utilizing this test if you're curious about why there are some silver in 1971 and 1977 coins this is because I meant accidentally less than silver planchas from the previous year and the mint and when use for production in the following year this is an extremely valuable error valued up to thousands of dollars so if you find one don't sell it for melt value for NFC's the edges are not uncirculated and blending with regular half-doors they're probably too circulated to be worth anything so do not worry about missing them if you don't see them while edge checking just a side note if you're looking for errors and checking each coins date manually I will still do the sound test just in case you're somehow missing a silver and it's helpful to make sure you're not missing the 1971 and 1977 the silver planchet errors last note there are silver proofs past nineteen ninety two that are nine percent and forty percent Bicentennial half dollars so keep these as well if you find them they should have similar characteristics as normal 40 percent of nine percent half dollars now that you know how to hunt boxes let's move on to urban versus rural areas and their strengths and weaknesses before going on I'll make a distinction between machine wrapped rolls and customer wrapped two rolls machine wrapped the rules are rules wrapped by rolling company such as Loomis and brings which come in boxes usually these are the roles we were discussing earlier on the other hand their customer and wrapped or loose half dollars which are half dollars which were wrapped and turned in by customers in our fountain and the tellers tray or a vault now back to the subject of this section you might be wondering which area has the most amount of silver it really depends but if I could pick I would definitely pick rural areas of hunt I've hunted hundreds of banks for customer and bankrolled half dollars and rural areas produce a lot more than urban areas however each has their pros and weaknesses rural banks are extremely hard to hunt as banks are spread out this means you'll be spending a lot of gas trying to get half dollars from each bank or be doing a lot of walking there's only really worth it in my opinion hunt roll banks if you're in the area for example my family went on a road trip this summer and every time you got to a new location to stay for tonight I'll walk to the local banks and buy all of their half dollars even still banks are so pretty spread out and it would be common for myself to be walking five miles per town however the silver output will be amazing it was much more common to find silver in rural banks especially in customer wrapped roles during this road trip I was able to hit a huge forty percent score a half dollars well in Rock Springs Wyoming and I was ahead of big nine percent score while in Wenatchee Washington I'll put those cars up and links into the description if you want to check out those videos I really can't see the silver Aquifer machine wrapped half dollars because I only got a small amount of machine wrapped half dollars in rural towns just whatever banks had on hand amounted to one thousand dollars they got roughly ten silvers from that I will say however it would not be beneficial saying one specific rural area for a long period of time because from what I've heard on forums although a rural area can have a lot of silver the silver can drive extremely quickly especially for machine wrapped half dollars since there are only so many banks in a rural area this means a rolling company will get very little half dollars which means there's a finite amount of silver to be mined in these areas for urban areas one pro is that there are a ton of bangs located near each other and able we need to go to more banks in a shorter amount of time however silver in these areas is much more sparse I think I've hunted a total of 3,500 half-dollars machine Rams half dollars and gone to 200 plus banks in Mannheim to search mostly customer wrapped half dollars and silver results were quite disappointing for the machine wrapped half dollar six boxes that are absolutely nothing in one box at 29 Silver's I actually have a link to that video where I opened this box I'll put a card up to that video and leave a link to that video in the description going back to the point this is an extremely small sample size for urban box hunting but I will say this I believe this box with a unicorn box and usually urban boxes produce little to no silver I talked to many tellers in New York City with many of them saying how people used to order boxes but stop because there's simply no silver and Bank boxes anymore for customer old half dollars silver as far as well I've hunted 200 banks in New York City and got a total of I think roughly five nine percent half dollars and seven 40% half dollars I can't remember the exact amount but that's roughly the mass Silver's they got their problem with hunting in cities is that there are a lot more hunters looking for silver and more tellers who tonight silver in general additionally half-dollar dumps this is where people dump their boxes of half dollars they've already gone through our extremely common in big cities basically many dumps have rolls which look like this with the machine rod to roll rewrapped and have no silver in them the teller pulls out rules such as these or a half dollar box which is full of customer what half dollars don't buy them you can buy a roll to make sure it's a dump but trust me it's a dump these dumps can make it hard to get to the customer rap rolls which has silver in them and in my opinion unless you have a lot of time I would not bother hunting urban areas or a customer arrived half dollars I will note however if you really want to hunt for customer wrapped outdoors in a city I would go to parts of the city where people live stay away from financial districts they will have next to zero silver before we go to the next section I want to give a brief statement about suburban areas these areas are pretty good for box hunting in my opinion but my area has dried up for silver for the most part sub urban areas have less dumps and more silver in my opinion but not as much as rural areas however my biggest score would I got $100 face value of 9 percent half dollars happened in a sub urban area so rural areas are not the only place where you can find silver half dollars alright let's move on to which banks have the most silver firstly let's talk about which types of banks have silver just letting you know this is only for customer rap trolls from my experience the banks which produced a most amount of silver are Chase and Wells Fargo Union Bank and local credit unions also have gotten me a consistent trickle of silver recently although I have gone so far from Bank of America before it was very little additionally I want to say that Capital One Bank TD Bank City Bank and Apple Bank have never given me a silver what does this mean let's say you're in a town I only have 30 minutes there are perhaps 10 banks but you don't have enough time to hunt them all what do you do you speedrun going to bank such as Wells Fargo and Chase and buying their half dollars first then going to Union Bank and local credit unions then going to Bank of America after and finally you somehow still have time left travel to the banks I've listed that have never given me a silver ever this will help you get the most amount of silver in a limited amount of time you have however I would only use speed learning tactics if you have to actually use this tactic while I'm watching Washington when I had a limited amount of time my parents wanted to leave by 10 a.m. so instead of somebody hunting the nearest banks to my hotel I did a speed run hunting Wells Fargo and chase first with Wells Fargo providing me with a sweet sweet sweet 90% sober dump if I just hunted the banks nearest to my hotel I would have missed out on the dump in Wells Fargo so by correctly speed running the banks is crucial when time is limited now that we have cover speed learning tactics let's go to the final session about liquidation [Music] even though I hate to sell my coin real hunting stack you must know how to liquidate properly if you really need the money to liquidate silver I would not go to your local coin shot to sell it for they'll most likely lowball also your silver on ready on the forum page called rpms for sale this way you're selling silver to consumers and not dealers I will put up 90% silver as spa plus shipping where I spot with shipping paid for and so 40% silver 5% below spot if you sell you a half dollars I'd these prices they will be likely be bought quickly I would try and sell n/a seized at one dollar per coin and Eric coins at a price that's considerably lower than the red book price for these errors you will make a much larger profit selling especially naics like this I've sold a batch of NFC's at a coin show only receiving 55 cents for each NSC I gave him on our coins for sale it will sell each Nancy for 90 cents to one dollar and fifty cents per coin we're seeing a much fatter profit I actually saw my hannasseys because I have way too many and they do not mean much to me compared to my silver half dollars although they take much longer to sell the wider profit margins make it worth it finding a buyer for a narrow coin may be more difficult because it's a much more niche market so you mind to sell these at a coin store or coin show I really hope you guys enjoyed this video and hopefully you guys learn something while watching this video if you guys see a topic I miss about coral hunting half dollars leave it down in the comments if you guys like this video as well make sure to check out my half dollar playlist I'll leave a link down in the description or I'll put a card up of something like that I wish you guys the best of luck in hunting half dollars and I'll see you guys later peace out [Music]
