For Linux clients, there are handful of default options that aren't ideal for max throughput and you might consider at least covering the major ones. For example, using "cache=loose" on CIFS mounting has a massive performance increase, albeit with some caveats:
i would also recommend using larger send/receive buffers, etc. I can send you a list of recommended changes for /etc/sysctl.conf and smb.conf and if you're interested.
Thank you! Usually tech videos are too dry and boring or so useless that I never finish one unless I really want to get something from the video. Yours was lively and entertaining enough with a good deal of actual content that I watched the whole thing! Learned a few things that are nice to know, but I don't need (at least at the moment).
