[Music] [Music] now the story of the wild man goes back a long time you can see stories all the time in europe a wild man of the woods even into england this is nothing new all sorts of stories these men that just just go into the wild and live there and turn feral stories of all kinds of major times wild men into the forest that said to be three times stronger than a regular man now the first reports of any wild man in the u.s was around 1877 western north carolina some gold miners run into one going to work in the mines prospecting and that's how they get together and they follow and see what what this is and where it's at and they followed it to a cave they didn't find hit it got away but they went into the cave there and examined it and found a whole bunch of bones of all different types of animals they don't say if there's any human bones in the stories but that's what they found and they was one here in 1896 around cleveland tennessee they caught a wild man in the forest he was completely wild they called him took him in and eventually sent him to an insane asylum and they steal all kinds of newspaper clippings from way back here's one of a warden captures a wild man after a desperate bite in these woods all kinds of stores that's on the internet now if you noticed most of the stories of wildman is right after the civil war now this is a bitter conflict between the south and the north and a lot of men fought and a lot of men died on both sides and a lot of them deserved it they just deserted off they didn't want to be part of the war but they knowed if they got caught that they would uh they would have to suffer consequences they would either be hanged or shot and they just fled off into the deep woods not to be seen again took their families where the most of them now that's just that's just stories way back in these mountains where nobody could find it and after the war they still couldn't come out because they'd be shamed or or marked because they wouldn't fight for their for their country now here the appalachia you can see the appalachian chain down through here it's a lot of country a lot of wilderness and the area we'll be talking about is down here in east tennessee now this appalachian trail it runs down the spine of the appalachians beautiful country a lot of people hiking year in and year out and they've been a lot of stories about an appalachian wild man that they would see occasionally all kinds of stories on the internet about that now on this old appalachian trail it's such a beautiful place along these mountains but these people that's that's here is not to hike they're here for missed you and they won't be people like this hiding behind a tree when you see one they're watching you they be people like this just sprang out at you take advantage of it now camping while you're sleeping people you got to watch out for now one thing i've noticed in these videos i've watched a lot of stuff on these wild men and stuff you nobody never mentions the fact that you could carry a firearm in our national parks here's the here's the rules on it now every state's different and you have to follow the rules be permitted and all that stuff or carry or equal you know concealed care you have to be permitted that's something that nobody never talks about now here's a map of the mission in the national parks a lot of people missing in these national parks and one we're talking about here is in the yellow circle now here in the great smoky mountains it's no exception there's people missing here been missing for years and decades this old park is over 500 000 acres it's a vast wilderness there's not no city park there's places here that man's probably never stepped in these crevices and hollers and canyons and creeks it's so vast and here is a map of the missing now i've noticed on this map i've studied it a little bit that they're all kind of missing in the same general area on either top of the mountain spine or on the north carolina side awful coincidental don't you think but it's so vast anything could hide or anything could be hidden in these mountains and nobody would never know these mountains hold a lot of deep secrets now here the most missing in the park the most famous is dennis martin he went missus up on spencer's field in 1969 and trinity gibson on the andrew baldwin trail not far from cranes down in 1976 they've yet to be found they're the most popular there's three more still missing in this park now most of them accidents happen in the park or a fire attack you know buyers do attack you get in their territory or they got young that does happen but some cases can't be explained that way in these mountains can it be a wild man feral people living in these woods that's yet to be proven could it be a bigfoot that's just to be proven now people sing sightings on both both styles of creatures but i'd be more worried about the wild men than i would these woods they are so dark so so remote that he wouldn't take nothing that didn't want to be seen to stay hidden forever there's a lot of secrets in these woods a lot of time has passed through it these are probably the most ancient mountains in the world among them the smoky mountains an appalachian chain [Music] such beautiful country so mysterious and yet so dangerous if you don't prepare for it now most of the time the indians they've seen these big feet bigfoot they call them they call them trollus club they was they was kind of the guardians of the forest they respected them and they never bothered each other but they know they was there they was a guardian of the forest is what the indians thought them as now these wild men that's a different story these are just people that's went barrel living off the land some say they become cannibals too but the indians were long gone when these started happening they was moved up on the trail of tears now this great smoky mountains national park it is the most visited park in the usa it's over 12 million visitors a year right now and growing no other park comes close to the attendance that this park gets in the traffic you can imagine the traffic 12 million visitors but out of the 12 million visitors they may be a thousand or two on trail and maybe just a few dozen to a hundred that goes off trail and when you go on these trails just use your common sense go in groups stay together do not get separated and stay on trails and everything was just fine ain't nothing better than enjoying nature in these mountains [Music] now here's something i do not like to see and this is bad you do not let your children run off into the dark woods by themselves that is a complete no-no you don't have to be a wild man or a bigfoot he could just be a bear or a bobcat or any animal she's a small child and they take advantage of it these these wild men they say they've been in this park for since way back and they've even stories about people that gets paid bounty to hunt and eradicate them but the people that knows that is not ever going to tell that it can't be proven now you know it's strange when the green beret and dennis martin went missing they was in here on a mission on their cell just to get rid of these people i know a lot of people don't believe none of this but i've heard from some really trustful sources that i've known all my life have no reason to lie to me if these stories a lot of them are true and no i haven't personally seen no bigfoot i've seen signs of bigfoot that i have not seen no bigfoot or no wild man now these mountains are old and these things are ancient ancient mountains and these things in these mounds that man still don't know about they are hidden don't want to be seen you don't bother them they don't bother you but the ones you got to worry about is the two-legged human variety they're the ones you got to worry about they just want to cause a mischief that's the one you got to worry about now i've seen and heard a lot of unexplainable things in these old mountains over the years i spent my whole life in but that's another story anyway i hope you enjoyed this bit of history on the tennessee wild man the mystery continues so i want to thank you for watching and i'll see you next time [Music] you
