The road to Vietnam's gangster capital 🇻🇳

i'm currently standing on one of hanoi's oldest bridges you can probably tell by the uh color of the metal it's very rusted and worn down this is longbian bridge which was built over 100 years ago when the french were occupying vietnam it crosses the red river as you guys can see behind me it's over a kilometer long and it is the main bridge that connects hanoi the capital to vietnam's major northern port city of haifang we are currently on the way to haifang we want to go check it out um check out some of the history over there enjoy some of the food and see what one of vietnam's biggest northern port cities has to offer so let's do it so oh finally got a moment to stop and catch our breath we're almost out of the city it's been a little bit of a rough ride out but we're finally on the road to high fall i think we got the train tracks to our right and we just followed this all the way down and we should hit high five let's hope at least one nice thing about driving a motorbike as opposed to a car in vietnam is you don't have to pay for tolls when you go on the highway so saving some money oh chickens you gotta watch out for cars motorbikes chickens gotta watch out for everything in vietnam dangerous roads tvs everything okay check out what this guy is carrying on his bike dude they carry everything on their bikes in vietnam jesus that was like a giant tree my god it looked like a tree was growing out of her head only on the road to high bomb guys dude we're about halfway there all right we are about 50 kilometers out of hanoi we're halfway to halfway to haifang this is actually which is uh if you're living in vietnam you know this was the center of the covent outbreak like a few two three months ago so this entire place was on lockdown for months but it's super nice i've been here twice now um it's a really like quiet it feels very modern for for not being such like a mainstream city that people travel to but yeah it's nice to see that this place is completely back to normal i just need to rest my butt my butt hurts yeah let's let's let's get out of the city and find somewhere to sit down the patriotism is overwhelming guys so we're driving along the road we don't really have anything better to do um and we just looked to our left and we saw right across the train tracks there are these houses that look kind of run down with no one in them so let's i don't know let's go take a look how do we get in i think i think we can just walk along the train track it's literally like 20 meters let's see let's walk along go inside really quick and check okay i don't know exactly the best way to get down there this is very strange there's like clearly no one in here but very strange this is just like for working maybe working tools water here so someone's been here recently there's even like a table over here for the bathroom table and chairs over here for drinking tea i don't know kind of weird all right we're a little tired from driving so we're to stop here and grab some of the drink i noticed a little stall on the side of the road i think this will be uh this will be perfect that means like the market of uh seeds the seed market do they sell seeds here ah okay here we're gonna stop hello go ahead and put my mask on everybody else swearing their masks this isn't really good for uh of a mask so look at my hair okay okay this is uh this is the vietnamese tobacco flour this is uh like the vietnamese very strong tobacco they take this and they put it in um they put it in these pipes and then they they suck out of it not for me though it's very strong of course it's supposed to make you a little bit like um a little bit like i guess high you want to demonstrate he's he's smoking he's light enough lighten the light in the tobacco i come in normally smokes a cigarette which is so much better oh yeah oh that's how you make friends with locals you can give them cookies like max just did it oh foreign [Music] oh [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Music] they're very um very very pushy in the north they want what's best for you but they're very pushy she likes the cookie she loves my cookies that was a good idea by max to give cookies how many do you think of that well i was just talking when you buy too much food two things can happen you either hey eat too much which is a good thing or b you share which is also a good thing because food i mean it's a present a win-win yeah me she's very talkative out here in the provinces of vietnam whenever you like speak a little vietnamese especially if you're in the north people are really outgoing they will start talking to you non-stop and they're like right up with you they want to be next to you and talk to you and learn about you non-stop questions it's so much fun yeah why are your eyelashes white that's a question only science can answer aren't you a biological recessive genes still on the road to hypo on the road to haifang you get sugarcane juice super nice uh ladies that look very young drinks railroad tracks with abandoned weird houses and of course all the cookies and sweets that max brings with him i always have cookies to sweet somewhere i always have some type of food on me you always have a helmet you always have cookies you always have a camera three things you can't forget in vietnam foreign um foreign [Music] it's very interesting i never i didn't realize until we stopped here to talk that this accent here is very different than other than though it's like i feel like i can hear this better than i can hanoi an accent really yeah huh it's interesting she speaks quite fast first of all many of her vowels are different so she doesn't say gone she says like go on fine you know very very very close in the provinces m [Music] are you burnt yeah sam [Laughter] they almost fell off their bike dude you get the best reactions from people out here [Laughter] allah [Laughter] oh [Music] yeah but look at this this is this is the restaurant here we we max was just commenting when we drove in here and we stopped to get a drink he's like this looks so much like china and then we stopped here dude look these signs are all in chinese [Music] oh yeah [Music] right next to hong kong okay what about this one you know this one i know the meaning but i wouldn't know like i read it there's only one day very interesting i wonder how i wonder i wonder if they're chinese here look at the bag where just look at the little ones what an interesting little shop all right let's go down a little bit more there's a place over there that looks like china right whoa i like you is that what the back says what an interesting little place all right shall we go over there and see interesting turn around yeah just turn around keep going keep heading high from where it's almost dark dude we better hurry up go go and we're here in the province of haifang we're still about 20 kilometers away from the city though you know you can just push it with your foot right we're almost there 10 kilometers we can make it uh we're at a very important intersection left is the halong bay right is the typing where they make all the race that one goes back to hanoi and this is to the port very important intersection right here we're in the gangster part of vietnam now guys but that's for another video f hotel oh here it is oh nice that's fun [Music] i'll just go ahead and take it down yeah i mean we'll go out later to eat yeah let's go [Applause] foreign um i mean if it's going to be there when i come back i'll leave security guard is very nice i like the security guard already yeah i went downstairs and there was no light and he ran to turn off he's so nice he's just looking at us and i just waved him he's like he just gave me the salute floor two two yep 20204 room 204 at f hotel what does fnaf stand for uh friends and family friends and family i can think of some other words yes it's gonna say [ __ ] slime my pakistani friend always says that i ain't gonna [ __ ] [Music] very modern take the you got to take this one take the key this is your first time and guys look at this this is what 650k gets you per night yeah total that's like 30 bucks 30. 30 bucks a night it's 30 bucks a night pretty expensive huh i'm actually oh it's holiday week it's holiday it's normally 500 so it's normally 25 bucks a night no it's normally 18 a night but that's not too bad for this place you know considering it's like f f hotel f f is special look at that check out the beds you get two beds spaced very nicely apart so you don't feel like you're too close to the other person especially when you want single beds these are very very much single beds look how uh look how thin they are they can barely hold one person and then you get very nice uh tables with glass drawers this is nice like carpeted carpeted wall i love that drawers in here though oh let's check out the bathroom max what's my favorite it's my favorite translation it's always that you're gonna throw a forward object into the toilet bowl don't throw foreign objects but you can throw vietnamese objects exactly am i filming hold on thank god you know me this is very important to me oh yeah sandpaper sandpaper oh oh that's that'll feel great on my ass it's okay i have wet wipes you get a nice shower oh man this is the only problem does this shower head go up because at the moment no it doesn't go up you're gonna have to like oh you gotta do a little squat brother god damn it doesn't go up no it's gotta go up no way you're gonna break it and we're gonna divide damn really this should go up damn i thought that went up yeah this is definitely way too small for a foreigner but oh well but at least you get the shower conditioner with shampoo two and one pretty nice toilet's very comfortable to sit on you can get an outlet for charging your phone when you're taking a crap guys look at that pretty good get your next drawers i think it's just for sure i was literally just trying to open it and like just won't open so i don't think i don't think this has any purpose it's the ac is on good job chris ac is on i didn't turn that on oh that's kind of weird we got fridge with drinks that are way overpriced okay so that may be pretty basic room thirty dollars or no surprises it's a little expensive for thirty dollars i think but i mean dude okay we're spoiled compared to the america this room would be a hundred dollars yeah for sure but like you mean before you were telling me it's like gangster area so i was like what well i found in general is known for its gangsters oh okay whatever that's for another video though anyways bringing the rest of my stuff we're gonna relax a little bit then we're gonna go find
