I mean he talks about it all the time little far Hotel it's even tatted on his forehead so here's why like 14 like it goes a long way like I told you that's my street and where I'm from but like at the same time like if you look up 14 angel or 1400 Angel like there's really a big ass quote like this long about what the number 14 means and how much like it's an angel bro it's an Angel that's all I can say like I go to places and I'll just see 14 out of nowhere like his dad was in jail during the time of his birth and his mother Tanya white raised him as a single mom growing up all his mom would listen to were artists like like Ashanti Beyonce Tupac and Nas which led to him gaining interest to artists such as T-pain kiss Nirvana Gucci Marilyn Monroe and Lil Wayne trippy described himself to be like Riley from The Boondocks as a kid being bad as hell but despite all that he was actually a really good student with a 4.0 average but what really made trippy want to become a rapper was his brother who was a rapper himself and went by the name of dirty red AKA oomp who ended up passing away in a car crash in 2014. trippy then started to take his music seriously by releasing his first two songs Sub-Zero and new Ferrari which I can't seem to find anywhere bro I guess he deleted them shortly after that boy graduated high school and then ended up moving to Atlanta where he ended up linking with another rapper Lil [ __ ] they ended up meeting because of a fan who posted a comment on Instagram telling them to make music together one of my fans commented under his [ __ ] and was like bro work with him he's hard and I linked up with him we clicked as soon as we met like the first day like it was from that point on that trippy started going in with the studio time which he actually never paid for cause WAP held it down for him so many people [ __ ] with me and wanted me in their Studios like I never had to pay for a studio session and he was working alongside another artist as well Cody Shane he then went on to drop three mixtapes awaking my inner Beast [Music] yelling [ __ ] getting bread [ __ ] [Music] beast mode [Music] [Applause] [Music] and rock the world trippy [Music] by the way that beast mode mixtape was all produced by a young Pierre born Pierre bro leave that Park fam Pierre used to sneak artists in like trippy and young nudie at Epic record studio in Atlanta eventually that cues and peace song really started gaining Steam on Soundcloud which lets a trip be signing to the label strange entertainment now known as Elliott Grange entertainment AKA 10K projects which six nine eventually signed to as well but we'll get into that soon stupid I'm not gonna let you get the chance so 2016 was a dope fun year for trippy as he was gaining hella buzz in the SoundCloud scene in the end of that year he would drop the song Love scars which actually was a part of another song long way home from Mars slash love scars trippy just ended up splitting the song into its own long way home from Mars slash love scars but then I just split them apart and made love scars its own song honestly bro long way home from Mars is fire bro [Music] [Music] tonight you know I get it popping 2017 was a huge year for trippy I don't even know where to begin bro it should never it should never come down to something like this this should never be a problem right here I don't even know how Cody let this happen how y'all let that happen bro [ __ ] always talking about I'm your dad now and all this other [ __ ] bro saying [ __ ] are stealing your swag bro like it's on my [ __ ] face trippy actually had some beef with Uzi at some point as he was accusing him of stealing his love scars idea with a song called love scars Loki I remember this and was like Wow Uzi really biting trippy but they ended up talking it out and they cool now but they actually still don't have a song together that's released to the public to this day a real shame [Music] yeah I guess I'll start off with the mixtape that he dropped in May of that year a love letter to you with the song Love scars really blowing up after the music video and now at this point trippy was really gaining steam at this point trippy and six nine were actually cool with each other and ended up doing another fire song called Ooey [ __ ] that was the most fun videos it's kind of weird seeing them two together not going live and of course I can't make a Trippy documentary without mentioning that boy x and the relationship they had X really rock with trippy and saw similarities between the two how'd you meet him in the first place I was in the car listening to uh [ __ ] duck [ __ ] up [ __ ] up and uh I made an insta snap and tagged him in it and hit me back he was like I love your [ __ ] bro I I see similarity between us like you not on with these other kids or I [ __ ] with you and ever since then we just have been talking and [ __ ] they ended up creating one of the best songs of the SoundCloud era [ __ ] love which actually has the most streams of any song on Soundcloud if I'm not mistaken yeah while trippy was getting hotter by the minute he ends up dropping another tape in October of that year a love letter to you too [Applause] the mixtape reached number 34 on the Billboard Hot 200 and the tape was just another stepping stone for trippy's career with some of my personal favorites like bust down whoa whoa whoa and Hellboy [Music] [Music] yo do y'all remember this trippy was actually supposed to be on God's plan that's pretty much how the whole beef for him and X started because X wasn't rocking with Drake after he stole his whole look at me flow on kmt damn bro imagine what this would have done for trippy if he was on this who knows where things would have taken him in December of that year trippy went on to drop his biggest song to date with Travis Scott Dark Knight dummo oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah damn son where'd you find this [Applause] [Music] I just pulled up in a Bentley okay but for real about that six nine and me situation yeah we didn't really get along back in 2018 nah but trippy continued to do his thing that year and never hit the brakes well I mean he did get arrested twice but besides that though he ended up dropping one of his best projects ever with life's a trip with songs like bang together taking a his third installment to his love letter to you series which I love just as much oh my God I love it oh my god with songs like Topanga love scars 3 a love letter to you three loyalty before royalty first week trippy also made it on the 2018 double XL freshman list and I would say him j-i-d and ski mask are the only ones who maintain relevancy he probably didn't really need this but it's dope for sure [Music] let's talk about the album so uh why'd you name it that why is it explanation point it was really on some tribute to like X he taught me a lot like the man was amazing like he really opened his arms up to me his first album his debut album I was the only feature on them like I went and visited him actually recently to Miami it was just so weird I just felt his energy and I don't know it just inspired me I felt like that's when I really was like I'm gonna just name this exclamation in August of 2019 trippy dropped his second studio album exclamation point and despite it reaching number three on the charts it had a lot of mixed reviews from fans and critics I know most of the people I come across that talk about this album consider it to be his weakest project and I guess that's fair because his other projects are in my opinion just better so yes I can agree but there are some gems on here like snakeskin which is my favorite trippy song Mac 10 under enemy arms and keep your head up [Music] you gotta keep your head up for me Playboy cardi was actually on this tape originally but got taken off pretty quickly which no one really knows why just call it a dub trippy Red's third studio album Pegasus was officially released on October 30th 2020. the entire album actually leaked two months before that and it still managed to sell 60 000 copies first week debuting at number two on the billboard with my favorite songs being we V12 love scars 4 and tm66 I'm a big dog who you [Music] fun fact though tm66 was actually released on Christmas of 2017 bruh so where are we at now with trippy red in 2021 [Music] yeah nah but trippy just did a feature though with the rapper Dax on the song I don't want another sorry which he bodies by the way and we're kind of just waiting to see if he ever drops this rock album he said he's been working on I think it's supposed to be called life of knights so we'll see I'm really looking forward to it oh and he dyed his you really can't hate On this man's success bro you just can't trippy to me is a Timeless artist and really proved all those haters wrong whoever said he's just a SoundCloud rapper or he's just gonna that album I was talking about but it was actually called neon shark making it a deluxe to Pegasus so the full name is neon shark versus Pegasus which made the full tracklist 40 tracks but in terms of just the album neon Shark look I get it this is a Trippy red documentary and I don't mean to be biased here since I'm a Trippy Red fan but I'm the type to keep it real whether I'm a fan or not I feel like a real fan should always be critical of their work you know and I kid you not I think this is one of his best albums bro [Music] hahaha are you serious I swear I put that on big 14 bro there's only like two skips here for me super over hated in my opinion is it the best rock album I ever heard no but for a rapper to do a rock album which we don't see very often it's pretty fire shout out to of the best songs of the entire year bro trippy bodied that chorus more into the year we started to see a lot of Snippets for his next studio album trip at night I remember all of them being super fire with the Mr Ray snippet being the one to go the most viral with those sweaty ass armpits I was really hoping the song Black Ops would have made it though he previewed it on his Instagram I believe back in June of 2021 but it never made the album he even played it next to DJ scheme too but it never ended up dropping in fact of June of this year was when his trip at night tour was announced and man was I hype as hell for this bro I cop tickets right away I actually cop tickets for the Philly show and not the Brooklyn one because I went to a Yankees and Mets game that day but yeah Philly's the closest thing and speaking of shows at rolling loudmiami 2021 which was the first big concert to go down since the pandemic trippy was apparently drunk as hell and went into the crowd which clearly in hindsight that was not a smart idea fam dudes was pulling out his dreads like they were worth something oh did he just fold [Applause] open [Applause] oh [ __ ] I didn't see it actually supposed to be called life's a trip at night originally would finally release on August 20th to some okay scores from critics but for the fans most of them really enjoyed it like me I love pretty much this whole tape it's got some real underrated tracks too like space time Baki and iPhone [ __ ] I feel like bloody burning oh [Music] Finish Line is probably my favorite she let me she let me that [ __ ] so hard the music video for Danny Phantom with him and X which was originally a song called Ghostbusters which I thought was better but whatever the ending of that video is mad sad bro with trippy looking over to X and then the next shot he's gone man that [ __ ] hit different the album originally had Drake on the Betrayal trackless right but it was removed when the album dropped then a day later it was added I remember the internet being pissed about that feature not being there but hey in my opinion it was worth that little weight the song is pretty underrated too and should have had a music video really it didn't really do the numbers like I'm sure trippy and his label intended it to like it wasn't a smash or anything with a name like Drake on it but Drake's verse I thought was fire and was super in the moment at the time as he was gearing up to drop certified lover boy and was going head to head with yay's donda so he ended up throwing some shots at yay actually that burnt out ad-lib was hilarious fun fact though I know I'm not bugging but the song originally had that Halo sound bite of betrayal at the beginning but was taken out I'm assuming due to copyright I know for a fact that that used to be on it I can't find it anywhere now please let me know in the comments if you remember that song having that in the beginning another thing too that I thought was tour for a bit too that was until they shot up trippy's tour bus and even striking the driver after one of the shows in Baltimore it's crazy because that happened like right before I went to that show in Philly and I was actually a little hyped to see Ian not gonna lie so Ian ended up being dropped from the tour Ian even addressed it on his Instagram live I know everybody feels some type of way about the the tour and [ __ ] with trippy what happened was it was just like a situation that it was like a safety matter and you know I was finally continue like I genuinely was but everybody was worried and you know like my whole team and stuff and you know it just it just wasn't a situation that I was in control of and I'm sorry for all the people that missed the shows that I was or went to the shows that I wasn't at if you bought a ticket to come see me I'm I'm truly sorry like for real the tour itself was super fun though my girl and I drove to Philly from Brooklyn that day and it was first announced in August of 2020 before zombpex is actually released it was originally called life's a trip at night two obviously being the sequel to his um life's a trip and also this album was supposed to have no features except for his friend Chris King which obviously wasn't the case because a month after this man announced a song with him Polo TJ and the kid Leroy was gonna end up on the album and now this [ __ ] definitely stood up a bunch of hype for the album along with Mr Rage and also with Mr H being previewed a week after Cardi's hole already dropped it definitely sparked a new wave and rap also known as rage beats I remember the first time that I heard like you know Mr Rage I was like literally shocked because I never did anything like it before in my life bro and right off the bat this snippet was going absolutely crazy bruh first thing first it was going absolutely you know viral on Tick Tock and second fans are making their own cardi remixes of this song and that [ __ ] would like just get millions of views bro all I can say is the hype which is insane for this one song and also just the perfect definition of a leading single and after the cardi remixes were actually blowing up should be got cardi on board for this song and hey man all I can say is this [ __ ] became an absolute hit bro and just a great way to start the album roll out and also around this time trippy under preview a bunch of Snippets for this album popular songs that he did pretty which actually would end up on the album and uh Mr H obviously MP5 Finish Line and holy smokes and he also previewed a bunch of songs that like would end up dropping later and those being a big 14 which actually like dropped last year tripping night which just ended up on level 2.5 and Castro which is rumored to be on the next album and then two months after missed the raid drop man trippy and we're gonna get another big feature for his song Holy Smokes the second single first album and the artist being Lil Uzi and now me personally I was like you know hyped to finally hear a Uzi and trippy song bro after Uzi was actually supposed to be on big 14 but obviously wasn't and as they teamed up for the song Holy Smokes this again became an absolute hit currently sitting at around 80 million streams and then as he like you know hype was actually building for his um he posted the tracklist and wow bro fans Rousey shocked to see how stacked these Futures were bro and as the album dropped on August 20th 2021 it would get 81 000 first week sales his third most behind all over two four and three and as much as people don't like this album it was like you know definitely my favorite of that year and just an enjoyable listen overall as well as a legendary album rollout to go along with it and shadow the clothing style the whole aesthetic even in the music video saved me it kind of gives some opium Vibes bro I'm not gonna lie I mean hey you be the judge but if you asked me you can definitely see the influence he then gave us a new single I was assuming for a love letter to you five called ain't safe with Don Toliver it's a dope track Tolliver bodied it along with trippy's fire vocals [Music] to face along with another single called Big 14 featuring offset and money bag yo it's a dope track but it didn't really go anywhere but it ended up just being a Lucy single because we didn't end up getting a love letter two five but what we did get was Mansion music I was held for ransom for my project they wanted me to pay them a million dollars because they have all my records all the features some hackers they have been hacking and leaking like crazy like at least my last two three albums they I don't know how they do it Mansion music Mansion music releasing on January 20th of 2023 selling 56 000 copies first week the album basically had the entire industry on it with probably one of if not the worst feature I've heard all year in low babies verse from the track fully loaded bruh he literally sounds like he just woke up and just popped a Yorkie super throwaway other than that though I'm not gonna lie I kind of [ __ ] on this album a bit when it dropped but it's actually grown on me a bit I mean when you have 25 songs on a project you're bound to have skips which this has a lot of but the highs are pretty gas songs like the title track Mansion music Atlantis with Chief Keef crib with expansion which for some reason was removed from streaming services and the other Chief Keef track 2 was taken off so I don't know I'm assuming it's cause it's going to be on Chief Keef's new album Almighty so too who knows psycho is pretty cool Nightcrawler is a banger RP juice world baby made up for it on the song Dark Brotherhood I didn't take a gamble with my life the die die track with lucky bro that beat is ridiculously hard [Music] biggest bird I think is dope this [ __ ] yes he did toilet water whiskey [Music] it's not as good as demon time but it's still solid the beat is pretty hard none with the baby is pretty underrated the baby bodied that [ __ ] and of course the goat low beat a base God on Swag Like Ohio part two legendary homage to the original Swag Like Ohio and the last track colors which sounds different than any other track on here with a fire Pierre born beat diamonds different colors yeah they came in clusters I can't fight with buses I gotta talk about this bro trippy Reds career as a whole as of writing this I'm writing this on August 22nd of 2023. so yeah this is how I feel about where he's at stature wise and why I think the Casual audience views him the way they do there seems to be constant videos that are being made about trippy and why people hate them and why he's this and why he's that and why his career is like this why he's flopping Etc and I see a lot of hate from all over the Internet saying he isn't good he peaked in 2018 etc etc all that big shout out to save the world one for the video why cardi thrives and trippy red fails because in that video he has a lot of good points that were made one of them being that whatever narrative the internet forms about you that's just what it's gonna be majority rules on social media and it's just like an avalanche and it just keeps rolling and rolling you know people just roll with it once the ball gets rolling in the comments a lot of people who probably haven't even heard the music will talk [ __ ] about bottom and just blindly agree with the hate comments or won't even form an opinion on their own without doing their own research he's always been compared to his fellow peers who he came up with like Uzi and cardi when it comes to the Mount rushmore's of SoundCloud goats like ax juice even though he blew up in the tail end of that era cardi Uzi trippy for some reason always seems to come after those artists some would even argue that Lil yachty has surpassed him recently especially with his latest project and his relationship with Drake and his personality with his interviews it's just I don't know it seems more likable than trippy is and just a narrative around boat has been nothing but positive with two organic hits that came out recently with Poland and strike even his latest song slide goes crazy yachty truly reinvented and rejuvenated his career he's truly in his second prime right now you could say he's Jordan in 96 right now so to me there's always just been levels to this [ __ ] and it's kind of like in basketball you got your LeBrons Steph Curry's giannises of the world then you have the b-tier Stars like your Demar derozans Jimmy Butler's I don't know Andrew Wiggins Etc they're still great in their own right but not on that same level of those other a tier to S tier Stars trippy for some reason has never been on the same floor as an Uzi or a cardi and why is that for trippy because in theory he should be up there with the Uzis and the cardies with the talent he has you can argue that sonically and vocally he's better than a Uzi and a cardi but there's a lot of reasons why this is the case one could be the aura that he just gives off his demeanor that nonchalant just smoking weed super laid back vibe that he gives off kind of like he doesn't really give a [ __ ] attitude not as hype as a cardi or a Uzi especially performance wise and speaking of performances trippy never gets the big letter treatment for a festival but you see cardi did these past few rolling louds he gets the last laugh you know why because he reinvented himself every set gets crazier and crazier evolving into something different switching up the set list especially and giving you an experience like no one else can do with the guitars and just the whole theatrics of everything even Uzi his sets the past year or so has been different playing different songs diving into the crowd like Jeff Hardy just having insane energy and dancing on top of that and I feel like with trippy he kind of does it to himself a lot don't get me wrong Tripp did go on a trip at night tour where he played songs off that album but other than that every single set that I've seen him on ninety percent of the time he's performing the same songs over and over again I made a video on this a while back on how trippy disappointed me on his role in loud California performance trippy literally just dropped Mansion music like a week before and guess how many tracks he performed from it none zero not even Nightcrawler you telling me the crowd wouldn't go crazy for that like come on bro not even Swag like oh IO like you're in Cali the Bay Area is around like I don't I don't know he gives off the demeanor like he's just collecting a bag and don't really care to perform new [ __ ] to him it's probably like what's the point I just don't get it like why wouldn't you look at Uzi performing Snippets leaks [ __ ] even ski performed a new track at Ronald Cali and he always has the same set and that's another argument by the way I love ski but he would not be where he's at today if he wasn't booked for every single rolling loud living off the legacy of X and Juice I'm just keeping it a hundred that dude projects but this is why he's stagnant in his career to me he doesn't really know what the fans want some sometimes which is understandable fans are very fickle but he plays it too safe and it seems like he has some sort of identity crisis I don't know another thing too as to why I think he's at where he's at is the Casual fan a lot of people who either don't really like him or maybe they like a song or two or straight up hate trippy they say he sucks he isn't good anymore like I said before but legit probably haven't heard a full project of him since 2018. there were never really fans to begin with and probably just listened to Topanga or Dark Knight demo imma give trippy the benefit of the doubt though because on his upcoming tour which not to hate but it seems like he is struggling big time to sell tickets at the Barclays where I'm gonna see him at in Brooklyn the ga pit area even went down from 153 to 117 in price even to the point where I got an automated text saying hey this is trippy you can get four tickets to my tour for eighty dollars click this link right now some [ __ ] like that like damn but yeah he did post on his story how he loved his set from Roman Miami 2023 and he promised to play songs from Mansion music and his new album on this tour that's fire I'm excited for that maybe he feels like when it comes to festivals it's just casuals in the crowd anyway so you know what I'm saying like I get it while he performs the same [ __ ] but damn you see how every time after Uzi said cardi said everybody's talking about it everybody's talking about what songs they play what happened the live streams nobody does that for trippy said literally it's crazy but yeah speaking of his new album let's get into it I could take you places you desire I I'm a lion you're a tiger let's make some ligers yeah no we're we're not doing that you gotta admit that's pretty funny bro nah but overall I actually really enjoy a love letter to you five the first few days of hearing it I was a little like damn this is really slow I'm not really the biggest r b kind of guy love songs or whatever my girl is but I don't really care for it I get it it's a love letter album and I'm kind of expecting that but the songs are very acoustic not too much bass knocking and at first I felt like a lot of the first few tracks kind of had the same Cadence the same guitar riffs like tracks five through seven kind of start off the same the instrumentation is very similar but then as time went on and I'm hearing it more hearing it at night hearing it with my headphones on my speakers walking outside it's been hidden differently lately I'm not gonna lie it's definitely different Vibes and feelings every single time and I'm really starting to enjoy the sound of this project it's probably his most concise and cohesive project the only song I guess that's out of place is trip McKnight which was a snippet he teased way back in like 2020 but it's still fire and I'm glad it's on here man if only Black Ops was on this project bro it probably wouldn't have fit but when is trippy dropping that anyways my favorite tracks are probably romantic fantasy [Music] I feel like that's my favorite honestly it gets me in my feels big time and you could really dedicate that to a special someone this song to me had the best vocal performance from trippy on this entire project helicopter bro I I don't care what you say this song is gas it's weird because I don't really care for that kind of style of music but to me that [ __ ] is a Vibe how you alive is fire the instrumentation is so simple but his vocals and Melody it kind of reminds me of like 2018 trippy it's pretty amazing honestly even Roddy Rich came through with some heat on his verse one of his best verses to me every time I'm gonna think about what I [Music] when mad at me is coin but I feel like the mixing is kind of bad on it either they raise the beat way too loud or their vocals are way too low one of those Wayne bodies his verse though [Music] and honestly the song sad and alone with zzz which was originally just a Trippy song I feel like that song could have definitely been on this album bro that song is amazing [Music] but yeah it ended up projecting to sell 32k first week but ended up doing 38k I'm not gonna allow I was a little shocked off those numbers I was expecting more like 50k just because this is his most popular album series and just off trippy Red's name alone but in reality there wasn't any hype outside of trippy fans for this project honestly even for trippy fans man the only real quote-unquote rollout we got was trippy posting about how he cheated on his girl and it's over man if there was ever a right time to use the word cap [Laughter] now with the element are you paying attention or the words get the [ __ ] out of here get the [ __ ] out of here this would be the time you mean to tell me you just so happened to have a breakup from cheating when a love letter to you is about a drop nice marketing my boy it's way too obvious it was [ __ ] either that or it's a crazy coincidence the singles were cool but they didn't make me go oh yeah like we're in for a classic very very solid album though and I do enjoy it for sure a fellow YouTuber and artist by the name of jivo draws my boy wants to give his two cents on trippy and the album as well letter u5 album all right his album flopped he's projected to sell 32k sales in his first week as I'm riding this trippy a few years back was literally mocking lesser known arcs for selling 30k and now he's in a situation where he's doing the exact same thing I need all the seedless rappers [ __ ] we about the creative Avengers of trash days [ __ ] we gonna sell what if we all put our 30 000 first week together [ __ ] we gonna make a building 32k is unacceptable for an artist like trippy especially considering that this album was part of this iconic series Travis Scott for example is actually tripling these numbers that's third week with Utopia I think an issue with this is just the sound is out of date the appeal of emo rap has faded way before 2023 so I thought it made sense why trippy has been diving into more experimental projects ranging from Rock rage trap glow in recent years with some being highs and then others being lows trippy is struggling to find himself as an artist which I don't think is necessarily bad despite the claims that each album since 2019 is a make or break album for him and will determine his fall off or not I believe he's too much of an established artist to have a genuine downfall he emerged as a Pioneer within the SoundCloud scene and has maintained relevance over the past six years plus I've always seen trippy as an artist that has really bad lows and then strong highs it's an up and down thing for trippy but it's the fact that he's always here he always comes around with something let's not forget that Mr Rage with cardi literally came out a year and a half ago but there's no question that hip-hop is in a weird space right now and this tends to happen like every five to ten years in rap so it makes sense why trippy and other artists are grappling with the challenge of finding a sound that doesn't feel inauthentic I actually enjoyed a leveler u5 but as of right now nobody wants to hear emo we left that back in 2019 or 2020. the only time I can see myself listening to emo rap is when I'm driving the car late at night with some [ __ ] or if I'm laying down in bed all in my feels or some [ __ ] and while trippy experimented with sounds that were injected into this emo rap sound I'm not surprised at flopped since the hype for trippy was at an all-time low music will evolve and so will these artists trippy red will figure it out but yeah that's all from me well damn boy say it with your chest and I appreciate you for being a part of this fam but yeah man trippy red the dude is only 24 at the time of recording this don't forget that he's already a certified legend in the game and accomplished so much already with 30 platinum records I'm dead ass you could check Ria for yourself 21 gold records and will only continue to climb the charts and make hit records regardless of what the Casual fan thinks or what the media wants you to believe he definitely escaped that clout era and solidified himself into being one of the greatest artists of this new generation in terms of new music he previewed a track not too long ago on his Instagram which I think is pretty cool it's a Cool vibe all my family's royalty you better nail y'all gotta talk about respecting this [ __ ] who knows when that's dropping but weirdly enough though he recently archived all of his posts so as of writing this his page is just blank which is weird being that you just recently dropped your latest project but whatever I guess trippy moves on quick but let me know how you guys felt about this documentary man how
