ah [ __ ] okay [Music] all of these [ __ ] they want me but they get one night [Music] [Applause] [Music] across the water baby we made it we did it [Applause] pipes [ __ ] [Music] [ __ ] i didn't know what the [ __ ] to expect but we came down now we [ __ ] that [ __ ] up that [ __ ] lit as [ __ ] man i'm talking about every [ __ ] stage is crazy man like mad [ __ ] fans too yeah miles parks mccollum aka loyati was born on august 23rd 1997 in mableton georgia while attending pebblebrook high school that boy yachty was working at mickey d's flipping them burgers fam he grew up listening to coldplay big soldier young draco so who's your number one though i heard you're like really into soulja boy like he's a huge influencer yes what was it about soulja boy that you took to so much i don't know it just the way he came up it was different it was a whole new like wave like the whole way he took over the internet i followed kind of in his footsteps in a way kanye and that boy low be the base god and you can clearly tell how much of a fan yadi was of low b like if you go to my dms a little bit because he follows people back it go all the way back like 2010 me just blowing up his damn all it's like 20 dims and when you come to now he responds i said little b made it okay to pay for [ __ ] what the [ __ ] are you talking about i don't know i was just i don't know i'm a big little bee fan so i used to like basically damn near anything he said was okay oh and if you ever wonder why yadi even calls himself that or lil boat here's why out of all the things you could be why a little boat i don't know why did you pick a little boat it's kind of flattening down and i see everything how you made it all together not the sale team or anything like that where did the whole boat boat come from um i was in a in high school i was in a group called the yacht club okay yeah and i was the youngest one and so i caught myself lil yachty and so that's where the yachty came and then a little boat um i kind of was animal studio one day freestyle and i said that little boat was like ali yadi's dad shannon was actually a photographer whose career included portraits and documentary work of rappers like too short outcast and others his mom veneta actually named yadi miles after the american trumpeter miles davis yadi would attend alabama state university in fall of 2015 but he would publicly say how much he hated that [ __ ] i went to college and it was horrible and then i knew music was the prince where'd you go to college i would build my state and it just wasn't for you it was trash his mom even said in her book the whole time he was at school he kept saying he didn't want to be there he kept saying that he was supposed to be rich and famous he wasn't supposed to be in school crazy enough though in september of 2015 yadi and his boy actually got caught at the mall with a bunch of fake credit cards while shopping at lids bruh they were charged with fraud forgery and counterfeiting according to palm beach county jail records from there he would drop out of high school and move back to georgia and from there he would link up with producer burberry perry and k supreme they would get together to grind making songs in his bedroom using mics with socks in them he would actually get a little taste of success when drake's ovo sound radio aired his song minnesota from there he got hooked up with coach k the founder of quality control music and began recording at the same atlanta studios as the migos at this point yadi was buzzing like heavy bruh especially in the soundcloud realm i told the streets when i chill on the 6 i got hella bricks i should breathe one of the earliest pieces of music that's on soundcloud from yadi is his summersong's ep from 2015. [Music] he even did a legendary show in la right before he truly took off in early 2016. [Music] the crazy thing is though at this time yadi got in contact with ian connor who actually hooked him up with modeling for kanye's yeezy season 3 the life of pablo release party at madison square garden and i remember this being a little headline with people talking about a kid who had red hair or whatever look what yadi actually said not too long ago about this day he said today five years ago i stood in the yeezy show i was still living with my mom and flew on a buddy pass to new york with probably 70 bucks to my name but i was mad excited and i feel like my life changed from this day on my mom and friends cheered me on via text thanks ian that's pretty dope if you ask me and i'll be honest i didn't know who yadi was at all until i went to a young thug concert like march or april that year in manhattan it was actually young thug's high tunes tour for the album that never came to be but yeah yadi opened up for him i think it was him and rich the kid [Applause] and i'll never being like yo this is fire boy who is this and then some dude next to me was like dude are you serious bro you don't know luyachi dude he's so lit and i was like [ __ ] he definitely is we also gotta talk about a viral video that spawned earlier this year too artist slash comedian kayleon fox made a video using the song one night in it and that [ __ ] skyrocketed one night to all new heights bruh what are we what the [ __ ] she just say to me oh damn you know what she yaddy even admits it plenty of times before then was the song gathering steam on its own or was it just something yeah it's just it once that happened it really blew up you know like millions or millions on millions you know what i'm saying and i think now would be a good time we talk about the legendary mixtape he dropped on march 9th 2016. lobo it's but i can't have no wife hey but anyways this mixtape is low-key legendary matter of fact actually you know what high key legendary quick side note though i can't express how much i missed these times bro there was just something about the aura around 2016 that just felt fun fresh new exciting it was just a whole new wave of these young soundcloud rappers that were just exploding onto the scene and it was just fun as hell because it seemed so organic and natural you know what i mean it felt like you and me just making fun music on soundcloud for the hell of it on and on bro but yeah back to lobo right now i am feeling a decent two strong seven on this thing this tape of course has songs like minnesota one night and wanna be us which are classics but songs like good day up next two and intro are some of my favorites on here who remembers when the intro had the finding nemo sample though when life gets you down you know what you gotta do i don't wanna like it was yesterday when this dropped if i'm not mistaken it was exclusive for apple music and it seemed as if it came out at the right time i'm the king of the teens we survived through the breeze also has a song on here called for hot 97 which that came to be because of the little beef he had with ibro from hot 97 you guys remember that long story short they kind of made yachty freestyle on hot 97 pull off in the black hearse oh and he was clowned all over the internet for how bad the freestyle was and ebro with his old head mentality just couldn't understand the new wave they were just trying to have fun and turn up while he was honestly hating on a new generation saying that they can't rap and whatnot they kept going back and forth on twitter and a funny ass twitter beef so yadi with the new wave of rappers or the quote-unquote old heads kind of just used yadi as the poster boy for the term mumble rap he was always that metaphor that people would use for rappers who can't rap six months later [Music] 2017 was an interesting year for yadi he was nominated for a grammy for the song broccoli and was gearing up for his debut album teenage emotions kind of weird to say debut album since he was already hot for at least a year now with a couple mixtapes that felt like albums but yeah teenage emotions was released on may 26 2017 receiving some lukewarm reviews selling 46 000 copies first week debuting at number five [Music] yeah this album definitely has some bangers especially fyi and dirty mouth i still go back to those on the regular but overall i still think the album has a bunch of skips personally the album is good not bad but it's not great either i remember seeing an article around the time this album came out where yadi said that there was a ton of pressure to make this album from the label from fans especially and what he wanted to make but he did say in an interview that he'll know next time what to make this year you've been nominated for a grammy and you also released your debut album how would you describe your 2017 so far it's busy now with your debut album teenage emotions how was the recording process and did it turn out how you expected it it was a learning lesson you know it was my first album i'm saying i kind of just did it the way i wanted to do it and i don't regret it because you know i'm saying every song i put on that album i loved like i made that album on the road like i didn't get to sit and really make the album it was cool you know i just i just now you know i know now for my next album what to do and what not to do so it one is better cause don't get me wrong i love self-made but this song actually feels more like that original lil boat sound so i don't know they're both fire but i wish this would have got released guava banging out the [ __ ] back though [Music] lowboat 2 debuted at number 2 and sold 64 000 copies first week which was definitely an improvement from his previous project but it did get a lot of shitty scores though me personally i felt as if it has its moments but a lot of it was forgettable i don't know man calling it low boat 2 was a brave decision because you really got to live up to what the first project did and how it sounded but it didn't really have that low bolt sound to begin with in my opinion 66 is a classic though now for nothing to prove i ain't gonna lie fam the only thing he proved with this tape was that it was kind of booty cheeks i mean for the most part it just didn't really hit for me and i haven't gone back to this since it dropped other than yacht club and get dripped those are absolute [Music] the single for this tape who want the smoke with car to be an offset come on bro that was forgettable the scores weren't that great either hey at least the cover art is fire besides this a big watch time is dripping out for the clock yo you guys remember this song i ain't gonna lie this [ __ ] actually kind of slap though actually we were all we're literally always together at all times we we shared a room when he took me in he like shared his room with me shared his clothes with me now we definitely gotta talk about what happened with his longtime best friend and the rest of his crew the sailing team around this time the good perry formerly known as burberry perry cause you know burberry is really one of the key reasons yadi had that sound we all fell in love with that melodic fun low boat sound came from all those beats that perry was producing for him but it seemed as if the more mainstream yadi got the relationship and contributions to yadi's project started to fade more and more as the time went by perry wasn't involved in any of the projects yadi put out this year now why you might ask well we'll never know all the details and behind the scenes of stuff but in early 2018 yadi responded to a fan on twitter saying this although he did confirm that they were cool again in late 2018 in yadi's second interview with no jumper yadi briefly touched on the sailing team and what happened between them i saw something everyone's on the team but it didn't work that way for everyone everyone didn't have the same vision i had for themselves how much money i spent on these kids who don't care about themselves you can't want something from somebody who don't want it for yourself you know so then i had to just scale back a little bit and kind of do my own thing you know i'm saying and then he mentions it again in an interview with kerwin frost where he goes a little bit deeper it got to the point where i was spending so much money yeah like almost a million dollars trying to like create this company out of my own money right right and they didn't want it for themselves magazines and um taking them on tour around the world twice getting these hotels and these big tour buses and spend all this money on uniform custom uniforms and video shoots and they were just really lazy you know what i'm saying i was like why am i sitting here trying so hard to make you guys like just like my which i don't really like talking about my you know my old best friend perry yeah you know what i'm saying um which who i'm not that close to anymore yeah i never wanted anything from him just for him to be great right you know yeah but that's a long story now that we kind of got some context it makes me think twice about like damn yadi really did his team dirty or did he actually try and help out these dudes gave them opportunities but they just fumbled it that's not really yadi's responsibility at that point he gave them platforms and if they didn't run with it because they didn't have the same drive then screw them yadi gotta focus on his career at the end of the day fam so i kind of get it it just kind of sucks though you know to see him come up with all these dudes for him not to be cool with him anymore it's like damn but it is what it is though you live and you learn i'm a cool man and i'm cooling with the juice inside your superman just like a million dollars i'm in a fan on my [ __ ] got no pain and she can't feel the face she did two i feel like you definitely bring the energy i tried to lobo 3 was supposed to come out in october of this year but it was delayed to 2020. but he was in a movie this year how we can get our money chris with the weed i'm in too dang to handle them hang on dress for album sales you name it and believe what you want i thought the video was hilarious and the song is dope too so i think the idea of bopra was pretty funny i don't know it's a standout track for me when i think about songs from the pandemic and speaking of songs that came out in the pandemic yadi finally dropped his lobo 3 album on may 29th 2020. it didn't do too well commercially only selling 30 000 first week debuting at number 14 but the quality of this project is gas it's honestly one of my favorite projects from him and the best in the series to me how many me a minute before i adapt change up his flows melodies link with other rappers to make fire tracks like bro yadi's such a beast bro he's definitely under appreciated i should say that boy went from the sailing team to the concrete boys and still going strong it's crazy how much his entire brand has been like rebranded and i truly do look forward to whatever he drops next because with yachty you never know that's what makes him pretty diverse like yay but it ain't that but i and i know how you feel though you feel me like that's why i'm speaking on that too like i probably definitely but i'm only gonna do this
