The real reason we avoid buying custom motorcycles

so uh how he got this bike was it's kind of a funny story I got a call from a dealership that I actually used to work in I was the internet manager at this dealership he's okay we got this bike he's describing the bike to me and I'm like I know that bike that's our mechanic spike down the street the Mackay's wife wanted to trade the bike in to get another car I gave them a number I wasn't really interested in the bike because you know it's very custom very mod it up I give them a very low number because I was kind of like you know I don't really want the bike but if you take it I guess I'll take it and they ended up we ended up getting the bike you got the bike for 3,000 bucks they're happy they got their car I'm happy I got a bike that I've never actually heard run yet now this guy came from four hours away to see a bike that Caleb told him doesn't currently run he wants to ride this thing home if we can get this thing running we got a sale today yes we got brand-new plugs in there throw half joke [Music] I put a we get the jump box on it might and might need more power than the jump box and give and if it needs that that we could just bring up abandon jumper cables it's in neutral yep yes a neutral lights on lights off everything's got to be just right when you hit it and it'll probably go but I mean that looks pretty strong so now we're going to use the jump box plus the van that's got to get the signifier up so even with the jump hook to end the van we still can't get this thing to really crank over [Applause] I'm starting the bike it's so hard in the pipe of that I've like that big with that much compression I'm beginning to wonder whether we're gonna get we're gonna be able to get this bike to fire up today so this guy can see that it runs by it and then drive it home [Applause] do you have any other bikes I got a thousand 18th Street Glide special ok cool cool how did you see this one videos like just in the background or like cuz I did we do it yes you did that you did uh it was March 29 oh we didn't pick the boat like yeah like oh wait a minute then I started looking on the website it's not listed yet so I call I emailed Kayla yeah we move back and forth back and forth we got to go up have you been looking for it's gonna look something like this or just yeah back looking for something like this Bob that yeah you know rigid I'm very skeptical that we're actually you're gonna able to get this thing to fire up from from pop starting it just because it's such a high compression and that that back tire just keeps on locking up so this is kind of a last-ditch effort [Applause] it might push it thing sounds awesome [Music] [Applause] that's that easy you snooze have to have a nice Hill you got park on a hill [Music] [Applause] got that battery all right wait thank you and more backup to the city no problems hey guess what happens today so you're playing you your goal is you want to ride this thing back my goal was to write about what's your biggest concern going back making sure she doesn't turn it off she turns back on you know yeah make sure I get all the way up there but that's it you know I'm not concerned about the ride I know it's gonna be rough but what's the whole point yeah I can't believe he's actually planning on riding this thing for hours to New York I thought he was coming up with a trailer or a truck we don't get this thing running and starting fairly easily there's just no way he's gonna make it back you want it I want it I want it she wants to do I asked her I asked her what she thinks she's would you say she loves it yeah well the reason why I got rid of the song although the slid was because she doesn't have a receipt for her so say you know what traded it in you got a got a touring bike just for her it's got pegs and then I get the bike and she's like oh you don't look good on that bike that's not a bike for you thank you baby does she call it an old man right forgets that we're older anyway at this point we had not actually agreed on an actual price for the bike this bike was never listed because it never actually got it running he saw the bike in one of our bikes and beards videos and fell in love with it called up Caleb Caleb totaled fifty five hundred bucks Caleb also told him that the bike we have we've not actually heard the bike run yet we were confident in Ron's we knew it ran and then he comes up here to buy the bike all right so we got it running what we asked for Caleb's it for the five it's good deal for that night kaya's batteries thought oh god he's gonna he's gonna battery he's get a new battery but you're right it needs to these tires he's so globe bitch alright and I'm willing to give her the love right the price is right it's absolutely a bike that needs love it needs constant low probably so what you thinking for you yep still walk over now where do you go good deal my screams even louder another happy customer so hopefully we'll get this bike running with the new battery and he'll be on his way back to New York so we both had the understanding that the bike might not make it back to New York I was joking around about it he was joking around about it to make a long story short I can't make any plans tonight I got to hang around make sure I got the van gassed up you stopping for fuel a lot you got your jump box that's super smart oh wait with all that actually went down today he's been here for about three hours four hundred bucks a reasonable price we make money he's pumped about it it's a win-win for everybody the issue is is this thing gonna make it home if you charge are you going any trips or anything like do any like logo stuff up in New Yorker with this one yeah baby you know we go camping in the summertime so go upstate New York yeah I might depend to home up my butt fields yeah yeah the best camping motorcycles BMW r1200gs Triumph Tiger and of course for a station chopper is there anything you would change on it yeah what you planning on changing stato see if we can put some signal lights in the back cuz I'm from the city yeah I don't see you with all your lights on yeah yeah no but there's some LED lamp in the front we'll see yeah little by little Marga the mess with the engine the pilot rain at all yeah well you know a little fixes here and there cool so even got the red rims like I wanted to really yeah that's cool I saw that bike on on that video I was just like oh I gotta find out something on that it's all worth the trip hopefully I can make it back to the yard with my back yeah go back to work I can't come in today my back my back is killing me alright happy what's it turned on it was just like I want it yeah yeah he's awesome man three hours to get here I've got I believe it would uh and that's for the price of man you can't beat it though yeah yeah it was a it was a good price for a hundred bucks was a killer deal I'm sure the guy who built it Josh probably spend at least $20,000 in parts not including labor and the engine itself if you bought that exact engine online it's seven thousand dollars so I think as I was briefed that's pretty fair deal it's okay man those big guys were happy to be you forgetting about your wife don't tell your wife dear she's the best thing that ever happened to you the lines going somebody's been cherishing a bad place you know what I like I like your customer service to give you guys you know any customers see what happened to the guy from England you guys like you know you guys hooked them up I was like yo those guys are all right I want to get her into riding my son might get it to riding so yeah like you know what together new to use bike and I'm going with these guys yeah cool man cool lots of time you get guys just yeah we screw you over you know what I mean so you can sell it I wanted get rid of me yeah but after that that was much sold me tonight all right you know what I'm gonna give these guys my big cool cool so the mechanic just got back he got Sydnee got the new battery he's got some other parts he had laying around to the shop for the bike we're throw it in there and this guy's gonna be on his way I'm gonna be pumped I'm glad to the bike go glad to see that big smile on his face so when you built this bike did you like because it just ground up and you just were like I have an idea building out yeah I mean I saw like all the like what's sucker-punched a you guys ever see that yes Sally's years ago a pen isn't stopping a precision makes a freaking rolling chassis like you know they were making four bikes at the time and basically I you know modeler I stumbled across one of their bikes do you like riding with him there you go we need an appointment it was dying and still hours away he's like waking you all that's awesome the battery didn't fit it was it wasn't the right battery so we have 50 other bikes one of these batteries kind of fits and we're just we're to see if we can jam something in there I don't know if this is gonna happen today the truth [Applause] I don't even know if I feel comfortable sending him off on a bike that we barely are able to start and we've only been able to started once or twice today if he runs out of gas if he stops to fill up and this thing shuts down he can't get it to fire back up we are on a road trip to go help him out and the chances of him needing to stop for gas is 1,000% because the mechanic who built it said you're at the very best you're getting 80 miles to the tick so he's got to stop at least three or four times Wow that's right over really good [Applause] [Music] [Music] since starting the bike a couple times I knew then what I knew now have had a fire of that of that bike I would have been able to get that thing fired up the problem is you know obviously this is kind of like God's providence there's no way he would have been able to get it fired up the second time so I'm actually glad it worked out this way so our jump box is not really working and it drained his jump box almost instantly this bike needs a lot of amps to crank this thing over it's still that starter thing that he was talking about we're a delivered to you for free you guys know my doing that I'll leave it because I'd rather not take a chance now unless there's a new battery I'm not gonna she's not gonna stop I mean if you wanna want to ship it to the metal say hello I feel bad because you you already came up here we were hoping we were gonna get it running what we can do is we can get that battery we get that battery tested fans again charged we get a charge but then I take it back to a mechanic he ganks out the starter make sure make me make sure it's good and then we get this thing to the point where you like because when it was cranking over that last time there's Kraig it was really fast up there's a head full charge on that yeah right it's correct number really fast it's gonna be it was about it was if it was popped over twice I just didn't know but I shouldn't give a gasket too much got let alone all right but was [Applause] all right so now we get to go to New York it's gonna be a blast ready to deliver the bike to them I'm pumped he's pumped everyone is currently happy at this moment we got the bike back from the shop I've been firing it up every single day I put the jump box on it we fired up every single day so I know how to fire it up we're ready we're going to New York if you went through you bought the bike now who's to make sure we deliver on our end and you get the bike running and bring them a bike that actually runs so we're gonna take it I think ultimately goes back to the battery didn't have it use to to crank it up it's a a lithium ion battery we put on our charger charge really fast but I don't think it properly charged the lithium ion battery we almost had it Romney I think I was gonna ride it home Saturday but I told me we did which bring its own so we're taking it back to the to Josh to guy who put the bike together and he'll charge the battery up properly you know get the thing running all right so we're taking this plate over to right enjoy riding that bike I'm excited to do it that's for every do you want yeah [Music] so here we are a company garage if we were to get all her stuff and that dog tries to attack me every time I come here you know dog super nice so it does growl at me what since I was a child [Music] we got the bike back from the shop Josh went over the whole thing but the brakes check the starter shutter whirs good fire the thing up throw it back over it's awesome I took it for a test drive I've been firing this thing up every single day since then we're coming for you New York
