THE PRINCE OF EGYPT (1998) FIRST TIME WATCHING | MOVIE REACTION

my first time watching The Prince of Egypt let's go ahead and watch this you know I like this opening up with like this pillar of cloud it reminds me of God's Shekinah Glory manifested so I don't know if that's what they were like alluding to but that's what came to mind for me like it's starting like with the presence of God I have nothing I can give hmm my baby [Music] her vocals Moses [Laughter] oh oh no because the only way Moses got to Pharaoh's Palace is by the power of God there's no other way such a view it just shows the harshness of the times what's going on with the killing of the baby boys and the fact that Moses here at the pharaoh's Palace and the fact that the opening song is Deliver Us Deliver Us Deliver Us oh this is very very very unstable boys was it worth it oh boy boys you guys think we'll get in trouble for this dude no I'm out of trouble why do the gods torment me with such Reckless Blasphemous Sons I seek to build an Empire your only thought is to amuse yourselves by tearing it down Majesty you're an excellent teacher it's not your fault your sons learned nothing I coded Ramesses on and so I am responsible do you understand the task for which your birth is best in you when I pass into the next World then you will be the morning and evening star but one weak leak can break the chain of a mighty Dynasty oh have my leave to go father you know it yeah wow you were just named Prince Regent you are now responsible for overseeing all the temples you get over there and thanks father I propose that the high priests offered tribute to their new region the Midian girl that's a good idea go get her an exotic Apparition Stone an exotic apparition desert flower more like a desert cobra that's why I give that to you no no no that's generous but given to anyone especially in arrogant pampered Palace brat you will show the proper respect for a prince of Egypt but I am showing you all the respect you deserve man you set me free still let's go enough wow you will regret this night oh man this is my home going back over what over what had happened and he's probably thinking like could it be like the fact that Pharaoh was going after every baby boy and he takes in a baby boy it's like yo okay see but that's the thing sacrifices must be made they were only slaves so everything I thought everything I am you are our son our son and we love you now you know the truth love last night the gods granted me a vision I will make it more Grand more slender than any other moment these are your people who's this not your back into it faster stop it leave that man alone oh let me go no wait you saw what happened we can't we continue that I will make it so it never happened I am Egypt good morning and evening star what you say does not matter you don't understand Moses no all I've ever known to be true is a lie go ask the man I once called father yeah it was like a whole 40 years Moses didn't return until 40 years later oh foreign thank you what are you girls doing oh don't worry down there oh come on come on little lady that says she'll never get married but that ends up being his wife though because he was so relieved that his daughters were were helped and he's like he's sick one of my daughters ladies you've cleaned every inch of me whoa I was wrong I was wrong be my honored guest all right let us give thanks for this bounty for food but the presence of this Brave young man whom we are here tonight and I wish you wouldn't I've done nothing in my life worth honoring first you rest Egypt then you defend my younger daughters for break-ins it seems you do not know what is worthy of honor a single thread in a tapestry in the future so how can you see what your life is worth it the answer will come to him [Music] [Applause] [Music] Jethro got bars look at your life look at your life look at your life yo yo that was a really good scene like like like look at your life through Heaven's eyes through Heaven's eyes [Music] it's too early for this oh is this how they did the burning bush I mean through the the movie how the movie did the burning burst boxes here I am take the sandals from your feet I am that I am I am the god of your ancestors Abraham Isaac and Jacob I have seen the oppression of my people in Egypt have heard their cry so I have come down to deliver them out of slavery bring them to a good land a land flowing with milk and honey and honey they'll never believe me they won't even listen I shall teach you what to say I was The Prince of Egypt the son of a man who slaughtered their children who made the death the mute the seeing or the blind now go I shall be with you when you go to the king of Egypt but Pharaoh will not listen so I will stretch out my hand and Smite Egypt shall do my wonders oh it's just so beautiful it's just God's power how he speaks to his people and When God Says something it will get done he's so faithful oh just this encounter with with God and Moses he's like I am I am he's whatever you need him to be just oh because one thing I was wondering about was if they were going to include Moses Moses speech problem which is kind of how Aaron got tied up into going with Moses I don't know if if Aaron will still be a playing Factor when going to going before pharaoh you're free they have a future they have hopes and dreams that is what I want for my people and that is why I must do the task that God yes let's go yeah [Applause] oh boy oh boy oh boy is that most like oh boo-boo oh boy Moses look at you so good to see you excuse me uh your majesty yet the law clearly states the punishment for such a crime be still speaks I am the morning sees crimes of which she stands accused our brother Moses The Prince of Egypt premises I see no know the god of the Hebrews came to me he commands that you let his people go oh the blocking right there and as soon as Moses said let my people go oh Pharaoh eat rewind it back you rewind it back impressive hmm I'll play along hoy give this snake Char uh answer in these two not a whole theater production oh boy think you've got friends oh boy you're playing with the big boys now please you're playing with the big boys please I mean there's a great difference between false gods and the one true Living God [Music] I'm sorry is this the light show the fire and the song that you're playing with the fake boys you guys are little boys little little I know you what's this really about he's here to let God's people go a greater Egypt than that of my father that isn't Moses I cannot change what you see I have to maintain the ancient Traditions you still not understand what said he was a great leader his hands bore the blood of thousands of children slaves my people and I can no longer hide in the desert while they suffer at your hands oh you have returned only to free them why are you so sad about that only to Freedom you've returned oh oh I rather see this triggered oh boy oh wait whoa whoa whoa dude just switched I do not know this God oh bro the workload has been doubled thanks to the old God cause you more pain I'm just trying to do as God told me when did you start caring about slaves was it when you found out that you were one of us I did not see because I did not wish to ah well that makes everything fine then they've been asleep and God has never answered my prayers until now God will not abandon you oh let him know let him know let my whole goal I don't know I will hear no more of this Hebrew monsters take the staff in oh boy I went on to explain this to me no no Barney the power of wrong he said abandon this futile Mission Moses his only beginning oh Pharaoh still has the power over our lives no he don't you can take away your food your home he can take away your sons and daughters Pharaoh can take away your very lives but there is one thing he cannot take away from your faith yes believe we'll see God's Wonder yes yes you will yes she will I guess you can say now that Pharaoh is in denial okay do it ah could you imagine though and even now I wish that God had chosen from the locusts to the frogs to the water all he had to do was let the people go wow this is nice the both of them singing at the same time he's like I will not let you will let more people go you get what I'm you get what I'm saying I hoped I would find you here get out we could always talk here oh yeah they were there were a lot of imagery moments where it's like we've been here before in the movie but different circumstances now so father was Furious you were always getting me into trouble but then you were always there to get me out of trouble again why can't things be the way they were before father oh talk is that your firstborn cause uh why is he oh what [Music] what why no Kingdom should be made on the backs of slave the way Ramesses keep turning bro right a hard heart if only you would let the Hebrews go I am the morning and the evening star I am Pharaoh let go of your contempt for life before it destroys everything you all dear you Hebrews have been nothing but trouble you Hebrews there shall be a great cry in all of Egypt's he really did God has come to again take a lamb Passover see the blood upon your door the blood the blood and the plague shall not enter Passover you know during this time with what God was doing for the Hebrews it foreshadows the coming Messiah Jesus Christ because it was his blood that was shed on the cross that then covers Us and therefore we have salvation we are washed clean of our sins death death doesn't have power over us once we receive Christ the savior thank you I think it's a scripture that talks about how they should have had they should have been ready to go that night like something girded about oh goodness I can't think of the wording like they're on their they should have been ready to go that night scripture you and your people have my permission to go leave me who knows now I'm standing here are they singing in Hebrew for children oh oh oh the Red Sea oh bro and not rest ah and for what for what see that's what I was talking about before like when I was mentioning the opening of the movie it started off with like a cloud I was like that's God's presence I don't know if they were hitting on that because like later on in the Journey of the Hebrews God travels in that Pillar of Fire and then there's that pillar of cloud during the daytime to keep them cool and then to keep them warm with his staff you shall do wow [Music] let's go let's go [Music] do you really think that even after all this [Music] I'm trying to deliver a song in the background yeah Pharaoh actually died in the Red Sea so but we're free y'all we're free we're free I want to take amendments [Music] [Applause] [Music] Prince of Egypt before even getting into the breakdown I want to make I want to make the biggest disclaimer it's most important to first look at the word of God because you can't take a movie a song a TV show with uh such power you take it with a grain of salt not even that much but you always go back to the word of God because that is what is true 100 true and that is what stands and so looking at the Prince of Egypt there were a lot of changes that they made that made the story of Moses a very different now I did take a couple of notes so when Moses mother puts him in the river it's Pharaoh's daughter that discovers him and takes him in and in the movie they changed that to Pharaoh's wife just taking Moses in but Moses still had contact with his family even after being taken into Pharaoh's Palace Moses mother actually nursed Moses until he grew and then he knew homeboy knew he knew about his roots he was in Israelite he was a Hebrew because it he like I said as soon as he grew the Bible so yeah if you look at Exodus 2 11 it says one day after Moses had grown up he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor so he was aware of of his people he knew Moses knew so I mean that would have changed this story drastically because it they had this whole scene where it's like you slave Miriam you and it's like uh Moses but Moses was aware of his roots that's why um the murder the murder happened pretty quick after he grew up Moses he did Kill An Egyptian and then he ran off he ran off for 40 it was 40 years which I mean I don't know how they wanted to depict that in the movie but from the time span of when Moses went away he went to Jethro and um he got married oh yeah oh yeah and I think the biggest going back to uh the Moses it doesn't mention anything about Moses having her brother in The Palace the only thing it mentions is Pharaoh's Pharaoh's daughter brought him in that's what we know and that's what that's was written in the word of God there is no mention about that that family dynamic Moses and Ramesses being his his brother and in the palace no no no no no no so none of that when Moses does run away to the land of Midian he does at the well help help Jethro's daughters so that's solid and then after he does that Jethro's like take one of my daughters also Jethro he goes under different names so he's also mentioned as Raul r-e-u-e-l if you want to look at that in Exodus chapter 2 and then Jethro and then chapter three of Exodus so remove Jethro Moses father-in-law and then shortly after Moses got married he had a he had a son and he had a couple of sons before he even left and went back to Egypt so they didn't they didn't include Moses children and then also the I I mentioned this during the reaction because there's a lot of stuff I didn't say but I was thinking in my head they they took out Aaron's role significantly and I feel like that is such a big part of Moses and the going back and forth with Pharaoh is that um when God initially is speaking to Moses um in the bushes in the bushes in the bush um Moses he was like making all these excuses he's like God like you can't you can't use me like I I I I I'm bad with words I'm this I'm that I can't and I'm not eloquently spoken I don't speak eloquently God like you can't use me and it says that um if you look at Exodus chapter 4 verse 13 it says but Moses said pardon your servant Lord please send someone else then it says the Lord's anger burned against Moses and he said what about your brother Aaron the levite so Moses was steady going on like I'm not I'm not that guy I'm not that guy God that's what he was saying and then God was like what about your brother Aaron so that whole Moses and Aaron Dynamic going back and forth to Pharaoh was a huge part they were doing this thing together and they cut that out and that that was like I was like because we I feel like we we saw Miriam and Aaron but they were they were a key factor and so the fact that they weren't really in the movie like how they should have been it's like and then the last two things Pharaoh died in the Red Sea if you look at Exodus 14 verse 10 it says as Pharaoh approached the Israelites looked up and there were the Egyptians marching after them so Pharaoh was there in the pursuit as they were about to go into the Red Sea they were swallowed up by the Sea if you look at Exodus chapter 15 verse 19 when Pharaoh's horses chariots and Horsemen went into the sea the Lord brought the Waters of the sea back over them but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground and so everybody was there Pharaoh the men in the Army swallowed up by the sea that man did not survive and then lastly um I mean they probably did the the ending to close the book on the movie they showed Moses with the Ten Commandments I had no problem with that but that was the second Ten Commandments that were created because the first time Moses went up to God on Mount Sinai he was getting the Ten Commandments and then like he heard a commotion going on down at the mountain that's because Aaron and the people he had it was like a party yo like like it was wild they were like worshiping this golden cow like worshiping around the golden calf while Moses is up here trying to hear what God has to say and then Moses came down with the two stone tablets and they broke so there was that was that that was the first time he went up and the second time he went up you know the Israelites kind of got themselves together and then um then Moses came down with the Ten Commandments the second stone tablets so that's just a fun fact I mean fun it's just a fact so and there were other you know bits and pieces that were taken out or altered but the Prince of Egypt for what it was for what it did give us I thought that you know it was a very nice film God was at the Forefront God's power it's always wonderful to see God's power at work and how he he orchestrated you know using Moses to set his people free and I just also love the fact that if you go into the Book of Genesis and looking at Joseph's Story how that was setting up all that was to come um in Exodus and the Hebrews because you see how they got set up in Egypt when Joseph became second in command over all of Egypt and then his family came over which then like you know Jacob Israel his sons or if you hear noise in the backgrounds because they're doing landscaping because uh Joseph becomes second in command of all of Egypt and then his family comes over you know Jacob and or Israel and the sons which then forms the tribes and then the Hebrews the Israelites they they grow in population and it says it comes a time where like the Pharaohs who don't know let me go back to Exodus one because I'm in Exodus chapter 1 verse 8 it reads then a new king to whom Joseph meant nothing came to power and said look he said to all his people the Israelites have become far too numerous for us so it's the smoothest transition of how we go from Egyptians and Hebrews you know living peacefully together to oh it's after like the whole generation that had died it's like Joseph Joseph who that homeboy didn't know his history that was the problem that the Pharaoh then became threatened by the Hebrews which then leads into um the oppression of the Hebrew people and the Moses is born and then God's like I gotta get my people let my people go as far as the movie goes Prince of Egypt I thought it was solid but nothing compares Nothing Compares baby boo to the baby boo nothing compares to the word of God like if you really want to see Moses Moses read about his life read about the history get you a Bible get you a Bible and read it up read it up yeah is there a part two because there's so much like this part it was literally just The Exodus there's so much this is 16 minutes of me talking oh my gosh but I mean you probably want to edit it down it won't be 16 minutes I can go on and on if you want to talk about God let's go on and on normally at the end of movies that I watch I give like a critique but here this is a Bible study baby it's the first Bible study on the channel we did here so yeah like I printed this this movie this video encourages you to to get to know God for yourself because this time on the earth that we have is limited and tomorrow is not promised for any one of us and God sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins he took the the beating that we deserve he took the punishment that we deserve as you know Sinners and he came and he died for you so that you may have eternal life with him with the Lord if you have not been saved or if you do not know Christ you have the opportunity right now to make that decision if you read in Romans 10 and 9 it reads that if Thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead Thou shalt be saved so you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and you believe that in your heart that God raised him from the dead you too can be saved and enter into the kingdom of God we're here Jesus loves you God loves you I want you are saved the Holy Spirit comes within you and does a Transformer to work in your life and as you continue to dive deep into God's word learn what his word said not what the world says but what God's word says He will begin to transform your life you will get to see his power at work and so many great and miraculous ways and I really pray that someone does is saved you know
