no argument God of destruction beerus is strong but how strong he is has been a bit of controversy in the Dragon Ball fandom because we have contradictory statements that are being made constantly about Lord beerus and throughout the years we've wondered when is Goku going to finally catch up to this guy and be able to defeat him in battle they've teased a Goku beerus rematch going all the way back to 2013's Battle of Gods movie which came out 11 years ago are we ever going to see a Goku versus beerus rematch that remains to be seen but will Goku actually be able to defeat him on this video we're going to go into beerus's power and discuss this sort of idea the fandom has about beerus being a moving goalpost figuratively of course for Goku I've got statements I've got screenshots I've got all of the information comped for you next we're all here because we love comics and animation and now the next evolution is here introducing story of verse a new mobile entertainment app video so as promised with this video we're going to build this house of Truth Brick by Brick we're going to go through the series of Dragon Ball super and Beyond to perfectly illustrate Goku's strengths compared to beerus and compare the two there are a lot of inconsistencies but a lot of this can be cleared up with one easy point of view that you have to take and it's at this point necessary to take it and that is the fact before we go any further Hammer this one home into your brain that Dragon Ball sup's anime and manga are two different continuities these are objectively two separate cannons and anybody who disagrees with that has not been paying attention open your eyes the reality is that both the anime and the manga are inspired by and are adaptations of a torama manuscript written by the original Creator and collaborations with people like toyot Toro and the staff at toy animation so we have to look at what is the closest to the original Vision while analyzing both sides and once you kind of look at it from that perspective you'll quickly realize that it does seem like beerus is stronger in the manga or at least perceived to be stronger in the manga now we have to start at the beginning and that is going back to beerus's first appearance in Dragon Ball Z battle of gods the movie followed by Battle of Gods the Manga and Anime adaptations of the original story which was written by yusuke wanabi and later corrected by Akira Toriyama himself as it stands there are three major versions of the Battle of God Story the original movie written by wanabi corrected by Toriyama directly then the anime adaptation and the manga adaptation and there have been silly debates in the fandom about which one is quote unquote more cannon with some people thinking that Dragon Ball super is quote unquote more Cannon because they added things to it but if the original Creator comes up with a story and then the animation staff adds to it does that make the animation staff superior to the original let's not go down that road but the best thing to do is look at beerus and his statement in the Battle of Gods movie that's the point I'm trying to get to in referencing Battle of Gods in the Battle of Gods movie beerus went one-on-one with Super Saiyan God Goku and Goku was able to retain some of that God energy reverting back into his base and Super Saiyan forms and tapped into it one more time to absorb beerus's gigantic blast at the end of the fight but at this point beerus was way stronger than Goku but he also knew at that moment that Goku was a very talented fighter and at the end of the film he has a conversation with whis where we find out two major facts the first one is that beerus acknowledges the fact that Goku and Vegeta as saans can get rapidly stronger and he sees them as somebody who may become a problem for him later on when it comes to them possibly surpassing him so they already sort of laid the foundation down for where this was going and the second thing revealed by whis is that beerus used nearly 70% of his power against Super Saiyan God Goku nearly 70% of his power now the thing about this is this line is only in the movie it is not in the anime and to me and we'll use more examples as the video goes along to animation seems to tweak a lot of the power scaling to fit whatever they're promoting or to fit whatever narrative they want to push at the time they push it you have to remember that there are inconsistencies here and the reason for that is because toi toyotaro or whomever want to continue Dragon Ball and keep it suspenseful so they kind of have to switch around some things I'm pointing this out because as we progress through the series you'll see that Goku is getting stronger and stronger and that 70% number ends up being a lot harder to believe remember though that was the original Battle of God story before the Manga and Anime and let's not forget and this is often forgotten about that Toriyama himself did an interview back then where he basically used a minimalistic power scale and put Goku at around level six and beerus at a level 10 and whis is at level 15 this has not been brought up for years because a lot of fans think that this whole idea was dropped and honestly I can't blame them because it almost feels like that and the 70% number said in the movie were both possibly dropped or forgotten about or rcon and please understand that the 6 10 and 15 numbers are not actual power levels it's a relative scale to understand the differences between them that's all it is so it shows that it'll take some time before Goku grows to reach beerus's level and definitely even more time to reach whis if he ever even gets there a couple years went by and we got Dragon Ball Z Resurrection F the movie and later on we obviously got the arcs and even though there was a three chapter promotional manga that toyot Toro did that almost nobody seems to remember it was not part of the Dragon Ball super manga and the Dragon Ball super manga they skipped the entire Resurrection F story and just summarized it in about a panel or so from whis and everybody else going right into Universe 6 now the only real thing to take from the resurrection F movie with regards to Goku embarass is that Goku at this point has an even stronger form than Super Saiyan God and that is of course Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan AKA Super Saiyan blue so we're already seeing Goku creep up closer and closer to beerus by unlocking a new form and slowly learning how to become more familiar with comfortable with and dangerous with God key now at this point if you were to use that same 6 10 15 scale that Toriyama used during Battle of Gods maybe now Goku is at a 6.5 or even a seven Toriyama never said anything there's no production notes about any of this we just know that Goku is stronger he has been training with whis he's become more comfortable with and more dangerous with using God key adding to his experience and one of the things that the Dragon Ball super anime did is show us extra scenes of Goku training with whis in between between the Battle of Gods and Resurrection F arcs but that's pretty much the only information we have relative to beerus because Frieza and everybody's afraid of him but there isn't much that he actually does at all in Resurrection F so now we move on when we get to the universe 6 versus Universe 7 tournament aka the Champa Arc here is where things get interesting at this point it feels like the anime and manga really are separate and it was also during this point that if you were around back then and I was covering this as it was going on the anime passed the manga at this point so the anime was ahead of the manga during this Arc and there are changes one of which is very important and that is the introduction of Super Saiyan blue kaio-ken or kaio-ken blue the upgraded version of kaio-ken used while Goku is in Super Saiyan blue mixing God key with the kaio-ken technique now this was a great moment everyone loves it it was great it was fun kind of brought us back to Old School DBZ but one of the things people forget is that Goku reveals that he had been working on this in secret and he was going to use it originally on Lord beerus during their long awaited rematch and it's at this point where it appears based on the way it's drawn that beerus might be a little bit shook by this not necessarily afraid maybe he was just surprised but Goku is already making plans for this rematch and getting stronger and stronger and we know that kaio-ken multiplies your power so in theory if we're using basic logic basic logic would that mean that Kaio Ken blue Goku if we use that Toriyama 610 15 scale would now be at a 12 I don't think so I think that's bad power scaling I think that Toriyama scale in many ways just doesn't apply anymore because you can't use the kaio-ken multipliers with the same numbers in that scale because we don't have exact numbers you can guess you can debate about it for months and months and months but we don't have exact numbers however it's another example of Goku again getting closer and closer and creeping up on beerus the manga didn't really have that version but what the manga did give us is this awesome little playful fight between beerus and Champa where they're in space destroying like asteroids and I really wish that fight was animated so we do see beerus impressively fighting Champa and we do see some of his incredible Feats in space but I don't think any of these really affect the Goku versus beerus scale it's sort of like talking about how Goku and beerus were able to crack the dimensional Fabric and shake the universe in the Battle of Gods anime because they were both doing it it doesn't really affect the scaling you understand what I'm saying it doesn't doesn't really affect Goku getting closer to beerus it just shows that both of them are very powerful which is why I didn't mention it during the Battle of God section just because of that reason it's not to me that important when it comes to this sort of rivalry between Goku and beerus but we're not done when it comes to the Future Trunks Arc the one thing that both the Anam Man manga had in common is that Goku was just getting stronger beerus's only real Showcase of you know being a God of destruction was that this is the arc that introduced the haai and that was an awesome introduction but Goku was constantly boosting himself up to get stronger and stronger to match up with Goku black as well as Vegeta and Trunks did the same thing so it's hard to really gauge and put a number on how much stronger he got the deeper you go into Dragon Ball the more difficult this kind of scaling becomes in the manga Goku busts out an attempt to do a hakai technique which means that he's at least got a fundamental Al be it inexperienced understanding of haai energy he doesn't successfully pull it off so he's not anywhere near close to doing it and I'm not sure if this feat really guarantees or is that important to bring up when it comes to comparing him to beerus himself but I feel like if I didn't bring it up people are going to give me a headache in the comment section about it but yes Goku learns haai doesn't quite do it it doesn't quite work for him but that really doesn't give us any kind of quantifiable answer about Goku's Improvement and getting closer to beerus all we know is that he is getting closer because we literally witness Goku getting stronger and stronger Plus in the Manga version let's not forget we are introduced to completed Super Saiyan blue Goku which I did do a transform guide on make sure you check that out to learn about that move this is just another weapon that Goku can use against beerus during their eventual rematch now if you're wondering why I didn't bring up the episode where beerus puts on the monaka outfit and fights Goku that wasn't really serious and it's not really worth bringing up I do think it's funny but it is played up more for Laughs than actual quantifiable scaling beerus was obviously holding back as was Goku so it was more of a friendly back and forth than anything too serious now the tournament of power this is where things get really convoluted this is where I think a big chunk of the fandom myself included were fooled and this is really where the anime and manga comparisons of Goku and beerus's power really go in two different directions and a big reason as to why is the introdu uction of jiren jiren is the measuring stick in this Arc for Goku and beerus and a lot of it has to do with what was going on with the anime remember the anime at this point was far ahead of the manga so the only way for us to digest the story was through the anime at this point prior to jiren even making an onscreen appearance the hype train began and we saw numerous and I mean numerous releases through the Press whether whether it be from V Jump magazine producers whether it be from people working on the series or events and statements made in the series that there was a being in the Multiverse that is stronger than a God of destruction now this was said multiple times by whis and as we know he's very credible and many others this being who can surpass even a God of destruction turned out to be jiren this was confirmed by whis himself in Dragon Ball super episode 109 the problem is I think a lot of us were not sure what they actually meant by that statement did they mean that beerus surpassed all the gods of Destruction do that mean that he surpassed a relative I guess you can say average power of the God of destruction or does it mean he only surpassed some of the Gods of Destruction because we do know that the gods of Destruction all are different when it comes to power they're all scary they're all Destroyer Gods they're all hakaan they all have frightening power that mere mortals can never understand but they're also all different and the manga gave us an interesting bonus Peak into this that was not in the anime and that was of course the God of Destruction battle royale scene that we got only in the manga where be fought all the other gods of Destruction they all battled each other to test out the stage and beerus wound up being the winner using a version of Miga no gokui AKA Ultra Instinct in order to win so I think to a lot of people this put beerus as the strongest God of destruction however others can debate that I think it's pretty clear but the fight was not easy it wasn't like beerus just Cakewalk these guys however that scene is not in the anime when it comes to the anime besides everything that I've already told you and shown you examples of statements made about jiren from V Jump magazine and the producers in that Magazine from even the official Dragon Ball super character bio that straight up states that jiren's true power is said to be at the level of gods of Destruction to things that we said in the series that point is unarguable in the manga the only thing that we get that's similar to that is when toppo tells Goku that jiren is stronger than our God of destruction Lord belmod that does not mean he's stronger than beerus it means that he's stronger than Lord belmod now this is really important to keep in mind but we're going to go back and forth here I'll try to make it as simple as possible in the anime we finally got to 109 and 110 which is Goku's confrontation with jiren for the first time Goku tries everything from the kaio-ken god blue even the geni dama the Spirit Bomb and it's nothing jiren is isn't even breaking a sweat then finally he Taps into Ultra Instinct Omen we didn't know there was even a mastered version at this point it was just Ultra Instinct sign and now things seem to change because now he's able to compete with jiren now he's able to go back and forth with jiren Android 17 says that he can feel Goku getting stronger and stronger and stronger as he fights however the omen transformation does not last we see Goku tap into it again a couple more times until the big climax after lots of teasing in Dragon Ball super episodes 129 and 130 when Goku first Don the silver hair reaches the completed Ultra Instinct if we go back to 109 and 110 for a second let's not forget that when jiren was out there everyone was in awe not just The Mortals there's a line and a scene where we see beerus's face and maybe it's just me but he looks kind of horrified that there's a mortal there's one Warrior that has that much energy so he himself is amazed at this and once again whis reiterates that this is the being that can surpass gods of Destruction but beerus fans will say that doesn't mean beerus okay maybe it doesn't but beerus J as hell was reacting in a certain type of way maybe he was just shocked at the power of jiren and the fact that Immortal could even get that strong but going back to 130 Goku with the silver hair is strong enough to defeat jiren he doesn't knock him out of the tournament though he ends up losing that power and well you know what happens however it's pretty basic math it's pretty basic logic to figure this out if jiren is more powerful than gods of Destruction and go is able to beat him in battle and knock him down to the point where he's got him finished that would mean that silver-haired Goku is above a God of destruction at this point that 6 10 15 scale throw it out the window and there are multiple times where Goku gets the respect of not just beerus who himself is cheerleading for Goku in this Arc but let's not forget that all the gods showed Goku respect including even Zeno know the Omni King at this point literally everybody I talked to including some of the fandom's most prolific power scalers all agreed that silver-haired Goku surpass beerus that was almost a given so all of the hype all of the V jump and statements made from producers and magazines all of the statements made in the series and just basic simple Elementary logic would tell you that silver-haired Goku is either equal to or above beerus at this point and there was nothing in the series that was contradictory whether it be the way beerus was behaving and whis never said anything about Goku still not being at the level of beerus it's never been said it's just left ambiguous the manga on the other hand this is where things change in the Manga version of the Goku versus jiren fight Goku does not defeat jiren and certainly not as decisively as he did in the anime version so could this be toyot Toro playing around with scaling and doing different things from the anime I'm sure it was but at the same time this left fans confused because some of the same magazines that plug Dragon Ball sup anime and manga some of those same magazines are now changing things but we're not done the anime may have ended with the tournament of power and then we had of course Dragon Ball super Broly the movie but it didn't end the Dragon Ball super story now the Broly movie really really doesn't say much about Goku or beerus we don't see Goku using UI in the movie and he makes one statement about Broly being possibly stronger than beerus now we could use that as an example here that beerus just isn't that strong but I think a lot of beerus fans don't like this and I think a lot of them make a very logical response and that logical response is well Goku's never seen beerus at max power and that's true throughout all of Dragon Ball super we have never seen beerus go 100% so until Goku witnesses that and remember Goku never overheard whis And beerus discussing that 70% number so until we get to beerus at 100% it's going to be real difficult to actually gauge his strength but the manga continued on with the moro and granola arcs and with both of those arcs we witnessed Goku once again reaching new levels of power he is now able to tap into the silver haired Ultra Instinct form at will and on top of that he also discovers true Ultra instinct which is a combination of the power of ultra Instinct with his raw emotion and it's the best way for him to fight we also find out in these arcs that no matter how many times and it's kind of funny at this point no matter how many times Goku quote unquote Masters UI there's always a new goal po post people have said that beerus is the moving goalpost of power well so is ultra Instinct we find out from whis that Ultra Instinct should be in your habitual state in other words it should be natural to use ultra Instinct like the Angels do and Goku is just not there yet so is that version going to be mastered mastered UI like what do they even going to call that version and we still haven't gotten it yet but to me it just shows that they're not really planning this out like you can tell that each Arc is written after the previous Arc ends cuz it doesn't seem like they're really planning out Goku's power-ups and the power of UI has been reconed whether you like it or not multiple times in the Manga and Anime there's a lot of contradictions and just because of that this is why it becomes increasingly more frustrating to take it seriously when it comes to Goku and beerus because every time toyotaro does an interview he'll say that Goku has many mountains to climb including lord beerus and there was another statement that was made recently that Frieza as black Frieza is still not as strong as the God of destruction so let's think about this for a minute you're telling me that true Ultra Instinct Goku in the anime defeated jiren the guy who is stronger than God of destruction meanwhile a significantly more powerful true UI Goku and Ultra ego Vegeta get on shotted by Frieza in his new black Frieza form you're telling me that Frieza hasn't surpassed beerus are you kidding me after 10 years of training in the room of spirit and time you expect me to believe that the only way that this makes any sense which is what I said at the beginning of this video is that the manga continuity is different from the anime and it is you can't even argue that and in the Manga version beerus is more powerful than he was in the anime were they overhyping Goku versus jiren to get ratings and TV views I'm sure they were are they overhyping Goku's power and the new villains Powers every time we have a new story I'm sure they do but unfortunately every time they do that it convolutes trying to understand just how strong beerus is which is why so many Dragon Ball fans have referred to him as the ever as The NeverEnding moving goalpost because every time you think that Goku's close or passes him they have to move it back and toyot Tor has to figure out a way to tell people Goku is not there yet and at this point it's kind of silly the black Frieza statement that he hasn't even surpassed beerus is just completely bizarre it doesn't take a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon or a calculus expert to just use logic and use basic mental calculations that based on the growth of Goku's power based on every time that this guy gets knocked down picks himself back up and keeps fighting whether it be against Goku black whether it be against jiren whether it be against Moro granola or anybody else the fact that he still according to toyot Toro has not gotten to the point where beerus is at to me is pretty damn silly and I'm a fan of beerus I'm also a fan of Goku but I'm really a fan of when Dragon Ball makes sense and this is one aspect that doesn't make a lot of sense unless as I've said two other times beerus is much stronger in the manga than in the anime and that 70% line that he used in the movie which was written by Toriyama means nothing anymore cuz it felt more like he was using 10% if we're comparing beerus from back then and Goku from back then to the evolution of Goku today will Goku ever surpass beerus at this point who knows [Music] he
