The PEAK of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is Here..?

with wave 6 concluding Mario Kart 8 Deluxe I said earlier this year that I am only maning Funky Kong and you doubted me because he's not the best but I mean even for today's races on 200cc only I think we can make him viable Funky Kong meta all day every day he may have the same stats as Wario and Dry Bowser but combo him with Mr scooty and rollers we are going to be taking names and as you know I love 200cc in this game we have 96 tracks Funky Kong it's officially happened the peak Mario Kart experience is here enjoy this incred room and be sure to like And subscribe look at all the funky Kongs we got two on Teddy buggy two in front of me on Mr scooty as well as myself I was really not expecting this this was just supposed to be a test to see if Funky Kong was even playable on 200 I think it's actually going to go pretty well considering we join a room and this many people are using Funky Kong I mean that's fantastic I can't complain let's see if we can front run SNES bc3 first DLC track here just join the in this room played a couple races and I was just absolutely joyed to see I wasn't the only Funky Kong let alone five of us yeah sorry Diddy okay well this finished player managed to dodge my red somehow that's not good I need an item ASAP yes there we [Music] go yeah oh this always happens in this game I'm not even close to the person who's backt trailing and uh yeah I just get hit anyway one thing I really wish that Mario Kart would add like if I could add a feature to Mario Kart I think that you should only be able to like hold your item behind you for like uh 7 seconds or 8 seconds or something that way people have to be more strategic upon bringing out the item instead of just trailing their items forever we're somehow surviving it's been a pretty sketchy race I might be able to get second here oh no boo stole my item go go go go go yeah I'll take second place wow but yeah that would be such a cool like mechanic just to have like the you know like the wheel on the golden mushroom telling you how much is left when you Trail an item it tells you how much until it auto fires it that would be my favorite feature we're on a bike we're on Funky Kong we're playing Waluigi Stadium this is Mario Kart wheel gentlemen well the closest we're going to get on the switch all right let's bring this out go for shroomless if we can oh that was not good well actually we managed to hop out of most Offroad so salvageable maybe get the item I'm just going to go down here oh I went through the tire love that for myself still manag to keep most of my speed after the Super horn got to remember how to play this track on 200 it's ay pretty difficult one all right got the orange mini turbo immediately hit this room is chaos got hit a million times here people just fire in their items everywhere all right let's try to do this a little better that was all right I don't know if it was faster though I'm going to go for an item down here then go up use my mushroom and then get the trick like this but yeah see I have too much speed on 200 I don't think it's worth it to do that on 150 it's a great Strat I cannot believe I just pulled a bullet and I got no item I'm just going to use it first place is pretty far up there I think this will go a decent waste bam and I'm not getting [Music] glued what was that am I going to seriously win this race after that mistake I guess so all right totally messed up everything on that one I didn't get a boost when I went off the halfpipe I just went up and I went down and I got nothing and it totally threw me off my whole brain just was thinking about that the entire time like why didn't I get a boost there I really did not expect to win last race I mean it was mostly because of the shock Dodge and it's mainly just like the more complex tracks the more difficult ones having this like full speed combo or full speed character I I just thought it would be really tough and it turns out first two races went great and now we have a track that is extremely favorable for my combo just got to click the coins try to get a breakway so far so good well I have to hold this even though I don't want to okay that was really rough I was trying to dodge the red by sliding into the wall I see people do that it just never works for me I think I maybe did it too early that's my prediction okay okay now we're in literally last got the item at least these are terrible how did I not get hit fourth place what a comeback I was like fully against the wall just spamming mushrooms and staying away from the fire and it actually worked all right this is the true test a track I don't have the layout memorized on the fastest CC using the fastest character and I'm in first so I can't just follow the people in front of me oh no all right so far so good got to get this out I'm going to get a coin here no I got a green I have to break I was going to die so far so good I I'll take second place any day someone just messed up in front of me shrim lless that was not worth it going to take the inside Lane I just don't know where to go okay I'm I'm just guessing right now it's very visually confusing okay that's fine that's fine we go left here I remember that I just need smart seering on for this track I don't know I guess I go this way I'm I'm I'm in third somehow it's working it's not pretty but but it's working oh gosh this is so tough I I just didn't get the item because of that is there even another set or is this one just over for me I think it's over I think the Finish Line's right here isn't it no no no there's more there's more time yes we got the item yes Dodge please wow fifth place I will take fifth place when the pra got me that was devastating I thought I was getting last for sure I just didn't know how long the track was we had plenty of time even though this track has a million hazards with the cars I think it's actually really playable even with the fastest character I mean should be fine we'll see we'll see yeah break drifting just really saves you I'm already in first with a mushroom it's kind of a dilemma here like do I want to hold the mushroom or just do the shortcut I don't know I think I'm just going to go for shortcut yeah that was that was impossible cuz of the truck it's funny how 200cc can make the simplest shortcuts actually very easy to fail all right I have a purple trouble got a break drift early here we're out Landing people left and right I don't get it all right going to throw that back so I can have coin in first slot I've learned that very valuable strategy oh that actually worked yeah Funky Kong saw the surf board he's like I'm going for that not going for that one though yeah I think I just know how to break drift better cuz I have a giant lead right now it's very very wild I'm I'm very pleasantly surprised people are saying I'm going to be not using Funky Kong after a couple [Music] videos I don't know I think I'm doing pretty well with Funky Kong even on the harder CC the one where he should be completely unviable also the blue shell on the mini map just did four laps it just flew around the track right past me didn't even hit me on lap four yes I mean hey we already played this but I'm happy to play the DLC tracks again especially the ones like this where I have no idea where to go I mean that mini map is a mess all right let's see if we can figure out where to go on 200 cc here and do a little better than last time I cheesed like a fifth place I had no business getting fifth on the previous Rome race two bananas the game loves me right now I'm not tricking when I don't know where to go that's my Strat I should definitely be collecting more coins but my eyes are just focused on the arrows figuring out the lines just I want to be able to stay in first that I'm not tricking here I don't know where to go okay no no I just accidentally released my trigger oh fail fail okay that's okay oh we're not getting the double box completely unprotected we can get the trick sometimes with Funky Kong especially on 150 cc after I get shocked I do not have enough speed oh to get tricks at all it's tough oh oh the person in first just drove into the out of bounds I mean these red arrows are not well made well designed they're confusing you can see they're out of bounds but you often can't really see which way the arrow is pointing unless you look directly at them it's not super clear in peripherals so I mean Nintendo could have done a better job with that on all the city tracks where do I go this way guys I I'm I just don't know the funniest part is how in first right now I've slowed down three times this race out of confusion entirely [Applause] confusion is that the end I'm the dirtiest player I I'm so awful I should not have done that I I literally feel really bad about that I just bombed Isabella into Oblivion I apologize Martin that was not cool I'm getting a little more comfortable with the Rome layout I still don't really know what lap I'm on when I'm playing the track I wasn't 100% sure I was even on lap three and there is zero time to look at the placement counter or the coin counter on 200 period I mean on this track I can do it cuz this track is way simpler we got this layout 100% down all right going to break away here I don't know if the room is just not as good it's probably that but like I didn't expect this session to go well when I put on this shirt today I was like I'm going to literally use Funky Kong for two races and then switch to dry bones on 200 I was like this is going to be impossible but uh no it's it's not it's quite the opposite oh I got the trick oh that was sick all right all right we're just going to lay this bomb there's going to be a blue shell any second I know this game too well at this point but I have a banana maybe I can block it no blue shell still jeez I can see people on the previous labp I feel like that only happens when I play the CPUs so the Boost stole my banana but the red shot also didn't reach me odd okay I mean sure works for me guys I don't know I don't know funky Kong's the best he just has the luck that what can I say no blue shell like no blue shell on Paris unbelievable spamming the horn is fun but it is the weakest Horn of all time I must say Funky Kong deserves a better horn you know what I'm down for some wave 5 DLC let's do it shess cut that works the [Music] item beautiful this a great lap is it faster to do that I don't know the way I did it probably not just going to bring the banana out and try to lag Trail the guy behind me I love how I hit that Goomba but I somehow evaded the second one my play play makes no sense today yeah oh my gosh shortcut is good I just passed two people doing that shortcut and I just lag Trail someone on top of the world right now and I got two items I'm using this oh unbelievable I'm just going to hop like eight times there we go fix my alignment oh we're in it we're in it all right I'm not too worried right now the one thing this track is missing it's a shame I get why it's not in the track but it needs the shba and Mario Kart wi that was one of my favorite things to do so satisfying but the Goombas are just too big on this game so it would be too easy I'm not getting a good spot this race plus we can cheese something here at the end Oh I thought I got fourth wow got outlined not my best race but it's okay I mean really fun track that's what I get for hitting the Goomba we got funky bitty funky Teddy funky scooty love to see it people are testing all the Funky Kong combos I think people just want Funky Kong to work so bad but I mean the truth is is we already know what the meta is going to be it's going to be it's going to be Peach at Peach at Teddy buggy rollers and obviously Yoshi Berto Peach Daisy that's the meta it's not going to change they nerfed invincibility but the other stats are the same and that combo just feels so good I I tried using uh pachette with the teddy buggy combo and it felt significantly better than Funky Kong immediately on 150cc on 200cc we found our combo forever maybe we'll see I mean it's going really well so far it's going stupidly [Music] well all right I got to go for the double I don't even know if this is worth it it was cool though I hey I'm a fourth I'd say it's probably worth it it's it's just very slow yeah yeah I'm going to be able to outp spe the bull no I got fifth all right all right it's fine it's fine shake it off we got it at last 200C Rainbow Road Funky Kong we're on a bike wow I would have never thought this was ever going to happen two years ago I never thought they would even put DLC in the game it seemed like a long shot let alone 48 tracks probably I think there's probably like eight characters total plus all the me outfits they did a lot they really did a lot that was not even going for me all right we're going around I did get the main tural off we're actually salvaging this it's not terrible very upset by that I want to win this track have not had the best showings on this one so far come on this truly is we Rainbow Road I must say that same thing has happened to me way too many times in Mario Kart Wii I'm just going to hold [Music] these probably just going to use the bullet I guess I'll use it here right into the item what's the bullet going to do is it going to go like in like a weird route oh oh oh okay that was uh incredible the bullet 10 out of 10 lasted forever that's probably my banana from last lap beautiful so one thing I've learned by going through the world records went through them last night haven't made a video on it but I just wanted to check them out for myself and are you serious right now I literally just use my mushroom and it's nowhere to be found uh but anyway you can actually go off the anti-gravity turn Super inside you don't get a trick boost but on 200 cc it's faster to do it that way you don't even want the trick boost anyway uh that's what the world record does so that was really cool to know I I I I can't turn I think it's something to do with an oh my gosh lacu you took forever you on vacation that was insane lacu let me actually reach planet Earth this this has been the hardest one by far to play this was such a struggle of a race I uh am mostly confused used on the physics because I hopped a few times to fix my alignment and mushroom into the Canon lap 3 and I just didn't do anything I think it's anti-gravity plus the slope but that was really surprising all right I mean another great track for my combo I forget the tracks in the game I seriously never picked this track it's not one of my favorites I don't care for it but I don't feel that way on 200 on 200 it's better it doesn't feel so over scaled and slow especially the ending section so I think I'm going to really enjoy this race we'll see we've had some bad luck the last few races I mean just really don't have Wei Rainbow Road figured out on 200C whatsoever and then Mario took at three the blue shell last second even though we did the banana Strat it just wasn't enough all right thank you game for the extra protection getting the purple got five coins not bad I can't trick there I would have had a horrible alignment I'm going to go go for some coins I'm struggling I'm struggling the the handling is not there for Funky Kong like it is for Yoshi that's one of the things I'm really having to get used to Quick still in a good spot I'm going to get the draft or not never [Music] mind I only have one coin right now just going to drift off this this is the best item there's a blue shell though I have to hold this no please Dodge please Dodge yes go go go I'm not going to win I can get second third are you kidding me I go for the coin I'm never going for any more coins in this game please fourth please fourth please fourth fifth place [Music] yes the real test mushroom Gorge funy Kong I don't know how the Gap jump is going to [Music] feel this session was going so well and it's really just flipped on its head the last few races I was so stoked to dodge the Blue Shell cuz if I was on Yoshi Teddy I really don't think I would have had the invinci ability frames to do so so that was so amazing but the rest has been torture too many people Dodge that shock that's really the truth it's still nice to see all the funky Kongs in the room all right we're using this not really getting as many mushroom skips here that's okay the bullet saved me classic Mario Kart Wii moment love that for myself I'm just going to use this I think third has a red [Music] if I get another red so satisfying so I couldn't believe I had a mushroom in first and a red shell I was like this might not be the smartest decision but we are going for it and that was a perfect Gap jump for my standard let's go back on top on my favorite track in this game period we had Daisy circuit but there's these two people in the room that won't pick the DLC tracks like I don't know what their problem is how do people not pick the DLC when it came out 20 less than 24 hours ago it just baffles me it was this guy from the UK and then this other person who always joins my rooms from Canada and I I just get so frustrated trying to make content and just not being able to get the DLC tracks like I'm trying so hard I'm playing for so long just to get them to show up and some tracks They don't even show up once you play the entire session you play the whole time all right that makes no sense I'm still in first cool how am I in first I fall off on lap one I'm in first come on I'm in first with a breakaway and I fell off I don't get these people [Music] I I'm I'm confused guys I'm really confused and frustrated and mad I'm playing this track I actually like this track probably more than Daisy circuit but come on we got to be playing the new tracks like come on there's going to be a blue shell any moment I'm too far ahead that's the thing about this game it punishes you heavy for getting breakaways while in Mario Kart Wii it's you know just like all the other Mario Kart games so you get a breakaway it doesn't hurt you this game it actively hurts you to get a breakaway speaking of breakaways there's a blue shell it's coming for me and I think I'll Dodge it now never mind wishful thinking all right well I'm still ahead by so much this is comical the blooper is going to really mess me up here okay so the red didn't go for me which is great cuz I think there's another red yeah another Red's coming for me yes yes I dodged the bomb Oh incredible and I'm dodging the red let's go so uh I think the Rosalina in second fired like four Reds at me and I dodged them in the weirdest ways possible Amazing Race just wish we played Daisy circuit something I never thought I would say we are getting treated with the tracks today we just need DK Mountain like please DK mountain and panana plant Cove like give us pan plant Cove I don't think I've played that one in a worldwide yet I don't think it's even shown up once just going to throw wow wow fail times a million and I of I get the super horn when I make the most horrendous fail in the video that is poetic oh my gosh I'm bagging let's see how bagging works out for me let's see [Music] that's pretty good oh never mind one banana I can't even finish the shortcut all right all right we're in last place well deserved after I somehow drift the wrong way that's the one thing with Yoshi Teddy with the you know the teddy buggy just feels like it has more traction I don't have these weird moments where I spin out of control and I drift the wrong way it happened on Rainbow Road I fell off lap one it happened there it's very confusing guys very confusing just spin out of control got to it just doesn't have the traction I need I'm a little bit worried about this piranha he's not really spamming enough there we go actually managed to get the box I'm just going to use this I'm you know in a really good spot I would say how far is this going to take me to the [Music] glider I got to hold [Music] these [Applause] this is actually terrifying I got a break dang the dry bones in first dodged might have been a super horn I think it was a mushroom but I'll take third that was a really fun race I'm losing to the lightweight bitty buggies classic 200C Mario Kart 8 Deluxe but let's try to bring it back here on Vancouver with funky I I feel like I could do all right on this one a well not off to the best start oh okay I almost fell off there I got pushed into the railing we're getting the double box though not all hope is lost one mushroom I'll take the bananas though that's a great item for this section I'm going to use oh I didn't get rid of the last one fail oh I'm a ninja unbelievable all right we escaped the chaos we're going to get [Music] spot I'm going to Chuck it so I don't get backs spammed get my shield out funky bidy in front of me and then I think in first is probably funky Teddy I don't know but they're getting blue shell love that this has gone astronomically better than I expected straight up like right does I say that I get 90ed all right uh anyway I I I really thought like I said I would be switching off this combo immediately come on reds no Milo all right well at least I'm not getting redded I don't know if I'm just better at 200 than on 150 but this feels better using Funky Kong on 200 than 150 it's it's so odd yo I I'll take six that that that whole race was lost I mean it's a tough one for me it's not one of my better tracks it's got some tough sections to navigate and the lack of handling I was really feeling it on Vancouver it's interesting this track was the least picked out of all the DLC showing up only like seven people voted for it or something so luckily my vote got chosen we're playing Madrid 200cc first oh gosh how are you supposed to know you have to memorize the layout unlike me right now oh we're getting the double box there's a shortcut here just got a whole oh that that's rough with Funky Kong this is a horrible start we're going to get this double though the the paintings look really good on this track I love that room it reminds me of Universal Studios uh the Mario world is really fun definitely check it out if you get the chance we're just going to go inside yeah there is a shortcut on the track that's really cool I want to demonstrate it I don't know when it's coming up uh there's another one right here a little tiny shortcut it should be soon guys I am in last right now with pretty rough situation it's right here check this out you can land over here and do a shortcut granted I had to slow down so much being on Funky Kong is proving to be quite the struggle on the tracks that are a little more complicated we've had a mixed bag results with funky overall really good lots of first places so can't be too upset no I want to throw this by the time this golden runs out the race will be over no that banana that had no business hitting me incredible incredible just what I needed oh my gosh oh my gosh The Comeback why did the bullet only last 2 [Applause] seconds I'm getting third I'm getting third I'll take it the Bullet Bill sucked but I mean the blue shell did some damage oh City Tripper Pauline got first last race okay I mean hey it makes sense it's called the city Tripper for a reason it's going to dominate the first track of every DLC cup so this is the true test let's be honest we got we got baby Park we're on Funky Kong and it's just u-turns over and over let's see how viable front running is and I mean ladies and gentlemen if you're enjoying the Mario Kart 8 Delux coverage on this a lot of the DLC show up Rome twice Madrid and of course Rainbow Road and uh we started with SNES Bowser Castle 3 I mean what a session this has been we're getting to the end of it here I want to get first on La that would be a great way to end it and if more DLC shows up I'm prolonging the session an extra race or two I mean who knows I'll just see how I feel after this race that's kind of what I do when it feels like stopping time makes sense that's when I stop and that's pretty much it we have a great start I think I can break away on this one I'm already at 10 nine coins that was rough there we go coin number 10 secured this is a bad idea using this I'm doing it anyway I've learned nothing I'm just fishing for a super horn can't help myself all right never punished oh oh Dodge wishful thinking I I seriously am like how amazing are the Funky Kong invincibility frames are we going to get the perfect situation not quite oh full off-road skip can I get the item both of them clutch the game rewards me the game loves [Applause] me I'm scared I'm scared I'm yes first oh my gosh oh my gosh I got the shortcut perfect I passed the person and then the bomb I was waiting for him just to Chuck it on the downhill and ruin my life but he threw it too far to the left that's my best memory on Santa Monica Pier right there okay Encore race said it would be the last one even if uh you know Ian DLC it didn't show up couldn't help myself we got first felt great we're continuing no questions asked we're going until we lose and I'm sure chucking this who did I even hit did I hit someone's item they threw back these items they're just so fast in this game I I can't even even figure out what happens a lot of the times okay Yoshi Teddy could have made that we're going inside this though we're making this happen we're still in first we got this we got this we got five coins we're chilling make that seven just going to go wide break drift like crazy I have all this break drift experience with Mario Kart Wii ctgp 200 so it's really coming in handy with Funky Kong here and I use flame runner on 200cc in Mario Kart Wii as well so it's come it's come full circle and I was trying before I started recording this I was trying to do inside drift for the video and that was not happening I was horrific I would have lost the CPUs that's how bad it looks so I just opted for Mr scooty and I don't regret it I'm just going to throw it this might connect no it's going to hit the banana which is fine oh no oh my God oh my God no no no no no someone someone's in a star someone's in a star someone's in a star one more race I'm upset you know what I can't be upset I mean Funky Kong top three let's go Funky Kong six funky Kongs on 200 this is insane I have been rewarded for staying an extra race we got sned bc3 again and this is where it started I mean it's coming full circle it's a it's a beautiful thing I don't know if it's it's my SEC it's my second favorite track DK mountains number one for this wave this is number two we Rainbow Road number three that's how I feel at the moment it's changing every single hour all right and of course I feel differently about the tracks on 200 versus 150 like for example DK Mountain uh or sorry DK Summit favorite track May maybe second favorite track in the game or something when I play on 150 and then I play it on 200 and it's mid I don't I don't really care for it I always have bad things happen whoa what happened there I have to use this mushroom I have no speed okay I really wanted that item box but I'm really happy I just didn't get hit this race could be so much worse it's definitely better to go this route but first thing go there I'm going to lay a secret hidden banana spot I have barely any room over third right now it's a battle there's so many bananas yes yes what whoa whoa whoa whoa what I'm throwing these there's my banana it wasn't so hidden after all no one hit it third place great race super fun session I am having a blast with wave six I think it might be the best wave maybe wave four is the best but wave six is up there wave three was really solid the only wave that wasn't good was Wave 1
