it's already been three months since the final episode of The Owl House three long ruling months so yeah can this just come back already let's not beat around the bush the owl house was robbed essentially canceled before season two even premiered the story had to be reworked and condensed down to fit three specials for the third season but wouldn't you know it the show exploded in popularity it's almost like shows need time to find an audience that's so silly imagine that though they did run with the show not fitting the Disney brand which really could be code for anything but a lot of people have taken it as two gay or too dark and I mean the show is gay and dark but that's why people love it did you not see that Comic-Con turnout [ __ ] and here we are nearly three years after that terrible decision and as it turns out the owl house would end at a very interesting time and by that I mean everything is on fire it's looking real ugly out there for pretty much the entire entertainment industry also even though I started working on this video before the sack strike I just want to make it clear this is all in good fun this is not a pitch for Disney who could not even take these ideas anyway this is a pitch for the fans and the homies that being said Hollywood you know the actors and writers aren't asking for much you know the longer you drag this out the worst is going to get for you get your [ __ ] together and give them the deal they deserve but as the big dogs of these multimedia corporations try to say face because why would they tell their consumers and investors how [ __ ] they really are they've said some pretty interesting things when it comes to the future of Animation things that from one angle you can look at as the most hypocritical contradictory gaslighting statements a higher up in animation has said given the past five years and from another angle you can look at it as copium to justify now how simple series and imma do the latter but Kevin what did they say well basically yup the execs of Warner Bros animation Adult Swim and Max came together for a panel in Tennessee to discuss the state of animation and its place in the world of streaming during this panel Susanna Macos Max's EVP touched on the upcoming Adventure Time series starring Fiona and Cake if I may quote The Adventure Time fans have grown up and people are still coming in the bottom and they're aging up it felt like a perfect show for us tonally it is very much Adventure Time but Fiona's older she's in the workforce it's more adults so I think it's going to bring in new fans and it's also going to serve the fans that we already have we see it in the numbers there are shows that appeal to Young audiences there are shows that appeal to older audiences and shows that appeal widely across I feel like that's the home run in animation whenever you can get something that can play to both audiences spider-verse is a great example of that and so is Clone High Michael ooline who's currently running both Cartoon Network and Adult Swim also had some words of wisdom I'd like to share of the class that thought of let's do cartoons for multiple Generations is the inciting incident at Cartoon Network it's the beginning of it it was never at its Inception that kids channel it was always we were psychographic not a demographic an adult swim is already putting money where their mouth is at his home for both unicorns Warriors Eternal and my Adventures of Superman shows originally slated for Cartoon Network now premiering on Adult Swim and re-running within Toonami but despite technically moving networks these shows were always intended to be aimed at a young adult audience stories that can push boundaries that the typical y7 rating could just never be allowed to do nowadays I mean we see what happens when they try I do think we are seeing a genuine pivot to shows and movies catered towards a young adult demographic and we're definitely seeing more shows that were aimed at kids Growing Up With Their audience yeah there's Adventure Time but there's also proud family louder and prouder while not explicitly labeled a young adult show it's clearly meant to be a series of adults who grew up with the OG can enjoy by tackling heavier subject matter and having jokes that are a bit edgier for Disney years before prop family we had shows like Samurai Jack and Young Justice make the jump from kids show to adult show and even outside the room of Animation Nickelodeon's had some skin in the game with iCarly getting an adult sequel series on Paramount plus and they're about to drop an extremely unnecessary Zoe 101 movie with the dumbest [ __ ] name in the world and I'll be shocked if Avatar Studios doesn't fully pivot to tvpg and tv14 projects given that most of their fans are grown up now Cora's already liked the darkest thing to ever Arrow Nick and you can't convince me they aren't shopping at the bit to push the envelope so hard that it breaks now before any of you start popping off in the comments about how any of these republics aren't as good as the original I don't care it's completely irrelevant to the fact that they're now a thing and arguably for the better animation is the most stigmatized medium in entertainment especially Western animation we know this we know that a lot of people still look at anything animated as childish and not worth watching barring the obvious exceptions like South Park Simpsons or Bojack to name a few or the shows they grew up with because Nostalgia always gets a pass shows that appeal to a young adult demographic are the best way to help to stigmatize Western animation and ultimately lead to more dope things being made I mean look at anime everyone loves it now and a lot of the mainstream hits are Shonen that appeal to a wide demographic there's a reason to Jutsu Kaizen slaps whether if you're a teenager or a 30 year old with a mortgage and you're lying to yourself if you think what's your animation isn't capable of having the same reach or pulling off the same stories that are just as captivating they just need the proper support from their studio with all of this being said wouldn't it be cool to have a young adult house [Music] so the sequel to The Owl House aka the L house Shippuden or the AL hausi or the Owl House future would be a young adult animated series that follows the adventures of an older loose noseda who's now attending the University of wild magic she still lives with Eda she's still dating Amity she's still hanging out with all of her friends and she's still discovering new glyphs with King but it's not all sunshine and rainbows years since the day the day and year since the end of the epilogue and although the boiling Isles has been rebuilt not everyone is on the same page on what a future about pillow should look like and disturbingly not everyone wants to move on from bellas's Twisted ideology to make matters worse they still have a looming threat of the archivist to worry about who may have their eyes set on more than just the demon realm loose may already have enough on her plate trying to navigate through adulthood but she's willing to risk it all to protect her friends her family and her two homes whereas the Ale House focused on once walking to be understood and fighting a community that accepts you as you are the Ale House future will be focused on self-preservation and standing up for your community in the face of adversity while Bellas was a blunt allegory for Evangelical Fanatics Who hide behind religion to justify their bigotry and fuel their own delusions in Universe his plans were pretty covert leading up to King's tide and because the collector transformed everyone into dolls we didn't get a moment where the inhabitants of the demon realm banded together to stand up against a common enemy for the boiling Isles to put it bigger in their place and let them know we don't do that here now I don't know if you noticed the state of the world especially in good old America but uh bigotry's gotten real bad and it feels like marginalized groups are starting to lose their voice again will a cartoon fix those problems with the world no of course not but it's a great medium to have conversations about things like this and again I can't think of a better property than the owl house to tackle these heavy conversations of course this wouldn't be the only thing the Ale House future touches on as a young adult show I wanted to feature smaller stories at the demographic of 18 to 26 year olds can relate to stories like holding down your first real adult job moving out on your own for the first time being the only one in a friend group who doesn't have a partner drifting away from a friend group or watching your parents get older as they figure out what to do with their lives now that they finish their job raising you we can have an episode so don't [ __ ] witch taxes I don't know the green sky's the limit I also think this series should have an even bigger focus on its adult cast and the original series already did Eda into a much lesser extent Lilith already offered plenty for older viewers to resonate with such as the curse being an allegory for chronic illness and disability and I think the next step to take is to not only further eda's development but to elevate Camila Lilith rain and darius's rules as well while we have loose in the squad for the young adult stories this casket explored the perspective of much older adults who even after all this time don't have all of their [ __ ] together are y'all getting the vision it's basically just a more mature owl house that doesn't have to hold itself back the ultimate version of the show and yeah I want it to be darker as dark as Dana's beautiful grotesque art but I still want it to be fun colorful and wholesome like the original a balance that reminds us to appreciate the Calm before the storm that even when we're in our darkest moments there's always something and someone to fight for now this is still Disney so I feel like this show would inevitably be tvpg with the occasional V throne in the mix cause you know we need a healthy amount of action and of course there'd still be an engaging overarching story to lead viewers on the edge of their seat each week but before I dig into what that entails let's check in on where everybody's at foreign has a lot of characters like a lot a lot and it was a little bit of a double-edged sword on one hand I think all of these characters are neat on the other hand because there were so many of them most had very little to do with the bigger picture like despite being bolus's second in command for years Lilith's only real plot relevance after leaving the emperor's coven and moving back home wasn't elsewhere in elsewhere in with her and Lucy's time travel escapades her learning glyph magic didn't really go anywhere her minting that she'll do some more research on the curse generally go anywhere she didn't have much to do with the day of unity and her screen time was pretty Limited in season three although it's very understandable why Gus and willow also got the short end of the stick especially in season two like yeah they're around for most of the series and got about 2-3 episodes individually where they have the a story but when it comes to episodes and scenes that push the story forward they kind of just stand there contributing a few lines of dialogue a little jokey joke here and there and even when they had big moments in the story like Gus reading bellas's mind the cancellation stopped them from having meaningful payoff they definitely got overshadowed by Amity and Hunter which was hard to avoid because of the roles those two play and they are working with limited time so what's the solution well in the Owl House future every character at least in the main cast will hold a degree a story relevance by splitting them up into different groups and each group will be responsible for pushing forward a particular story arc for example Ida Gus and Ettrick all work at the University of wild magic so if there was a storyline where the University was an integral setting you can expect all three of them to play a part in those episodes we saw during the epilogue that Lilith and Amity still work at the library and have plans to start a museum so they'd be major players in a storyline that revolves around uncovering more of the demon Realms past perhaps something dealing with the archivist basically give these characters something to do in roles that no other characters can fulfill in storylines that all hold equal importance and they'll all have their time in the spotlight at least on paper so that being said how are these characters doing at the start of the sequel series what are some of the internal or external conflicts you're dealing with starting with loose after everything she's been through in the original series I think loose would definitely still be dealing with trauma which could be explored in an interesting way she still acts like the loose we all know and love but after everything she went through with her friends she has a deep-seated fear that someone will try to take everything away from them again she's scared that another fellows will come along and now that she has to master a brand new glyph language she's worried that when the time to fight for her community comes she won't be as proficient as she once was at Magic and she struggles to express all this to her friends because she doesn't want them to worry about her and moreover she doesn't want to upset them with constant reminders of the past the lowest points of their lives so she tries to save all those feelings for therapy focusing on our life at college and helping out the boiling Isles where she can although it is loose so she is gonna struggle showing her straight I think her tendency to inject herself into other people's business isn't something that's gone away I also think all of this has more or less caused her to set an untaintable lifelong goal of world peace at least in the demon realm she's striving for a world where conflict can be easily resolved in 22 minutes and the bad guys have no power or authority a world where her friends are constantly protected and she'll never have to worry about another apocalypse again but as you'll find out that kind of status quo is much easier said than done [Music] King has actually been doing pretty good lately and the events of Seasons two and three paved the way for a really cool reversal of his character at the start of the OG series King really thought he was the king of demons and because he held on to this belief he wanted to be respected by others instead of being disregarded as a pipsqueak now the demon realm knows he's the last remaining Titan the son of the boiling Isles and as a result he's treated like a bit of a celebrity he finally has to respect and admiration he once longed for I think that provides a lot of Storytelling opportunities now you could be predictable and show that all of his attention has inflated King's ego causing him to regress he'd definitely get humbled early on and learn a less about humility and I think that would be an important story because although it's a bitter pill to swallow Fame tends to get to people's heads but what I would find way more interesting is if King didn't like all the attention cast on him he wanted it when he was younger but now he finds it overwhelming and realizes he needs to establish boundaries with the public there's a lot of people who hail him as a God given his unique position but he just wants to be treated as a regular person you can explore a parasocial relationships which is something people deal with more than ever in the age of the Internet it's never been easier people to become an influencer a massive following and whether they intend to or not depict a fictitious version of themselves because of how we curate our image to the rest of the world and influencers aren't limited to just tick-tockers or YouTubers or Instagram models artists actors and show Runners are also included even if they don't want to admit it it's anyone with a notable presence which is worth mentioning because I think a lot of people in the animation industry have inadvertently become influencers and have grown to hate it because anything they say or do can be put under a microscope or held up on a pedestal they just want to be able to focus on their job and their personal life but because they work on a popular show they have to deal with the Judgment of thousands of people who don't even know them like best life experience this hypothetical crew could pour into King and I think a surprising amount of viewers at home could resonate with that of course with it being public information that King's the last Titan he has a Target painted on his back as tons of crooks want their hands on Titan's blood so expect a few adversaries to come out of the woodwork hell that'd be a great way to do some Bill of the week stories or build up to something even bigger one more thing I think something cool this series could do to separate itself from the original series a bit is to have more focus on loose and King being on an equal playing field their sibling relationship should be as strong as ever as they're training together going on adventures together and discovering glyphs together and yeah it'd be cool if King learned how to lend his power to lose every now and then so that Titan loses back in the game but really that should be reserved for season finales lady is also now Ito the Headmaster and this chain changing the Status Quo honestly writes itself she genuinely loves the position she's in and wants to make a difference for her school but she's definitely still finding her footing and being a Headmaster and thus gets easily overwhelmed and is constantly trying to fight the urge to run away from it all I always love that Edo was an adult that didn't have her [ __ ] together because it's pretty true to light so I'd love to see her get into hijinks because she still struggles with asking for help even with Reign now living at The Owl House Eda would rather come up with her own Solutions than dragging other people into her problems which to me makes sense considering she felt responsible for dragging loose into the whole Bellows debacle I think that's something that would stick with her give me an eat a story where she creates magic Shadow clones to help out with the workload but eventually she starts neglect her responsibility by having the Clone to win for her 24 7. but then something goes wrong with the clones and she has to save the day and she learns something at the end I really want Ida to play a big role in one of the story arcs we'll dig into in a bit but for now that's the gist of where I see her character at the start of the sequel series [Music] position that builds off of the end of the original series we've seen the epilogue that she repaired her student mental relationship with Lilith and that they're working at both the library and Museum aside from Amity already working at the library I think one vital plot point from the Dave Unity storyline could have motivated this career path for her and that's the fact that her mom odalia blight was an accomplice in the day of unity which means someone a part of the blight family knowingly played a role in a genocide attempt and knowing this really affected Amity so now she wants to do her best to preserve the demon realm's history after it was almost wiped away on that note amdy's own arc in the series could explore the trials and tribulations of what happens after parents get a divorce and dealing with an estranged parent her and her siblings are only getting closer with alidor while the distance between them and odalia only grows there's also something the original series didn't really get to touch on that I think would still be interesting to explore here at the start of the Owl House Amity was the top student at hexide and was perceived as the queen bee of the school but by the end of the series Not only was she no longer the a top student but her friend group was comprised of other exceptional people you could even argue that all the people she once underestimated ended up surpassing her her girlfriend saved the boiling Isles by becoming half human half Titan her former best friend is hinted to wield the most powerful plant Magic on the aisles at least as high read all those moments were Willow lost control of her magic and while Amity didn't have a history with Gus prior to dating loose she definitely looked down upon him in early season 1 just because he was associated with Willow and Gus is a prodigy not only did he skip ahead in school and in Life Brewery has a full-time job but just like Willows hinted to have the most powerful plant magic he's hinted to have the most powerful illusion magic we all saw that emotional damage he dealt to Adrian it's worth mentioning devastated on post who that Gus alador and Willow's glowing eye powers are related to their emotions and adrenaline affecting their magic Dana wanted to expand on this but it wouldn't have affected the story and a glowing eye moment wouldn't have happened with Amity there's a bunch of ways you can interpret this but either way we can use all of this to explore what happens to gifted kids After High School especially when said kid wasn't actually all that gifted compared to their peers they were just competitive and new to put in the work to see results now I don't want any of this to undermine amity's achievements or loose Willow and Gus's achievements I think they're all hard workers some of them just have anime protagonist levels of potential and clearly Amity felt some type of way about no longer being at the top I was the top student once now yes it's been years in Universe since that comment was made but I think Amity will always be a competitive person and that's not a bad thing I wouldn't want an exploration of this to be a scenario where amd's bitter or jealous of her friends I wanted to be purely introspective and focused on herself how Amity feels about Amity you know what I mean side note I'm assuming a witch's Powers get stronger the older they get so this series would definitely see an Abomination Amity power up like the one Darius had as solely because it looks cool Hunter is doing pretty good actually the epilogue showed us that time has been very kind to the boy and I couldn't be happier for him he's basically gravitated towards the family he has left by working with Dell and helping restore the palestrum forest alongside the bat Queen he's also helping witches carve their own palaceman so I'd like to imagine he's still doing this and is really trying to keep a low profile after spending most of his life in the emperor's coven like loose Hunter is scared of a new threat coming along that threatens his community and his stability but in classic Hunter fashion he actively tries not to think about that I think a good internal conflict for hunter in this series would be to continue his identity crisis as he hasn't completely come to terms with being a grimlocker I don't think that's something that could have been resolved in only a few years it's clear that wary ends up at the end of the OG series mirrors what we know about Caleb but how does he feel about that it'd be interesting to see Hunter learn more about Caleb and figure out if he does this whole palestrum carving thing because he likes it or because it was something Kayla enjoyed and even if his connection to Caleb influences his interest is that necessarily A Bad Thing [Music] although they were sidelined a lot in the original series I think Willow and Gus are the two characters that could have a lot of focus in the series by virtue of a change in demographic and their occupations at the end of the series starting with Willow who I sadly had the least to say about but there's still something there we see she's still an athlete as she's still playing flyer Derby so let's just go with the notion that she's doing so professionally maybe Willow wants to broaden Horizons and start playing sports on Earth but whereas the boiling Isles doesn't have gender sports or gender roles at all really Earth is a different story Earth kinda sucks and not everyone is willing to accept Willow with open arms so uh Willow vs the patriarchy anyone I really want to see some friction between Earth and the demon realm and I think Willow is a character fit for that kind of story because if there's one thing she loves doing it's proving people who underestimate her and her friends wrong to correct those who have the incorrect impression of her not in a way that pleases people Ball but humbles them and I think another character who's fit for these kind of stories is the leader of the human student Exchange program Gus impressively became a professor at the University of wild magic at only 16 years old and I think that plays perfectly into the insecurity he has around his age he's always been younger than most of his peers but now instead of those peers being classmates a year or two older than him their co-workers that are about 20 to 30 years older than him the only other Professor around his age at least from what we've seen is edric who's still like three to four years older than him I think a lot of people can relate to the isolating feeling of having older co-workers and how it feels to develop friendships with those co-workers on top of that being a teacher or Professor is a very time consuming job and a big part of becoming an adult is finding the time to have a life outside of work and trying to make plans with friends who you may end up seeing less and I imagine Gus would be under a lot of pressure in this role given how with the University of wild magic is he's trying to figure out why ITA plays so much trust in him that she made him a professor what did she see in him to play such a Monumental task onto him at 16. again I think that's something viewers would be able to relate to honestly Gus has so much potential for relatable young adult in the workplace stories that he could have a spin-off in his own right now I'm not gonna delve into characters like The Collector Camila Reign Darius Ravi for the sake of time but rest be assured all the characters you love are around and have a part to play in this but of course some of the characters you hate are still kicking as well so instead of having one specific antagonist like how the owl house had Bellows with some of the coven heads serving as smaller villains I would dig at the Outhouse creature had different groups of antagonists each with their own leader though we're just gonna focus on the groups instead of the individuals within them and I want there to be a villain group for each storyline which also reflects each part of the owl House's world meaning there will be a villain group on the boiling Isles a villain group on Earth and a villain group for what lies Beyond starting on the boiling Isles we have the Apostles of bellows a group of witches Odin knew that wanna revert the boiling owls back to how it was when fellows caught the shots that although boas himself was a fraud who wanted to destroy which kind the ideals he presented to the Isles are worth preserving some of the Apostles argue that they need the old coven system sigils and all because if witches are learning all sorts of magic they can't hone in and master one form of it that will ultimately get weaker witches some of the Apostles just want their old status back because of the power in Tails instead of being a nobody in the modern world they know that their faith in a liar is a lie they're just clinging onto those ideals for their own selfish reasons those would mostly be returning antagonists like Terror Snapdragon or Adrian gray really these are people who just don't want to accept change and have had their minds warped by bellows in different ways they subscribe to his lies for so long that they can't fathom all of it amounting to nothing they also have their eye on Hunter for his connection to Bellows and King for his Titan's blood but what they want to do with the both of them Nobody Knows the main characters opposing the apostles would be loose King Hunter rain and Darius with other characters popping in here and there moving on to Earth we have the organization about a cool acronym no not them returning jackass Jacob Hopkins is trying to spearhead a movement to ban witches from Earth and keep them exiled on the boiling Isles these people are helping on portraying witches in the worst light possible and don't mind playing dirty to pull that off even if that means endangering innocent lives in the process I think this group is important to include because it goes to show that bigotry didn't die with Bellows or the age of witch Hunters not to mention it's sadly relevant in our current political climate the main characters opposing these losers would be loose Willow Gus V Eda and Camilla with anyone who works at the University of wild magic also having a stake in this conflict and last but certainly not least we have the archivist the older siblings of The Collector celestials who live in the stars and are responsible for the mass extinction of Titans although they seem to have abandoned the planet our witches reside on ages ago the collectors return to space may end up luring them back to finish what they started and with their return imminent Amity and Lilith are eager to learn more about the war between the archivists and the Titans and what they can do to prepare for their arrival the main characters opposing the archivist would be loose King Amity Lilith The Collector and really the whole of the boiling Isles but yeah loose is involved with all of these plot threads alright I'm running out of steam here but before we go I want to drop a few episode ideas to paint a better picture of what this show could look like also these titles are made up on the fly so apologies that they aren't as Snappy as they are in the show number one meet the witches oh moose discovers that Camila has been seeing someone new which draws out Mixed Emotions within loose on one hand she's happy her mom is putting herself out there and making new connections on the other hand it's understandably weird seeing her mom with someone other than her father but she wants to do her best to be supportive when Camille decides she wants to introduce her new partner to not just loose but the demon realm as a whole loose wants to go above and beyond to make sure her mom has the perfect date on the aisles and of course hijinks ensue number two beyond the aisles after Amity uncovers ancient texts the bat Queen believes is a clue about her owner the two alongside loose Hunter and Lilith embarked to Uncharted Territory essay explore the land of a different Titan and they aren't alone the only other Decay Titan we've gotten to explore is the one that makes up the Titan Trapper Island so I just think it'd be cool to finally dive into another and I think the answer to the bat Queens owner being on another Titan would be a great explanation as to why they were unable to figure it out before why this plot point would only be a rest now and finally number three the first archivist King is forced into hiding when the collector alerts everyone that one of his siblings is headed for the boiling Isles however in a twist of fate Ida and the albies ends up catching this archivist attention when both parties realize this was the archivist responsible for transforming the albays into a scroll everyone wants the archivist to leave in peace but in classic collector fashion they'd rather play a game than hit the road and the winner gets to keep Eda uh oh loose better not lose again these are just some ideas and depending on how this video does maybe I can share some more in the future flesh out my own head cannons a bit more whether or not Disney will ever bring back the owl house it's something we won't know for a very long time especially because the entertainment industry as a whole isn't in the best shape right now but here's hoping that after these Studios cave and give the Striking actors and writers a better deal we'll see a domino effect that leads to a huge entertainment Renaissance one that spills over into animation one where if they still need to rely on spin-offs and sequels the Ale House could get something along the lines of what I shared with you all today but for now I'll keep dreaming also I cannot give enough thanks to the amazing Jakey bones for this phenomenal thumbnail no seriously guys this goes so hard and Bone I'm so sorry it took so long for this video to come out because you it such a great job I
