The Only 2 BUFFETS OPEN in LAS VEGAS

hello everyone my name is norma and today we're going to buffets this has been a very requested topic and is usually a must do for when visitors come but right now there's only two buffets open and i'm gonna go ahead and take you to both so stay along with me to watch the only tuba face open in vegas [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] now before we get started i brought a very special guest with me what's up everybody my name is jj from the youtube channel jaycation and i'm really excited to try out these two las vegas buffets here with norma so if you guys can't tell already jaycation is actually from san diego so he has my twin channel but just everything in san diego so i'm really excited to have you yeah thanks i do a bunch of food and travel videos around san diego and all over the world so thanks for having me norma okay all right let's get to our first [Music] buffet [Music] so [Music] for this first place we're here at the garden buffet at the south point hotel and casino they are open daily for breakfast lunch and dinner and brunch on the weekends i'll include all the prices and details right here reservations to the buffet are not available so all you have to do is show up and get in line it only took us about 20 minutes from the moment we got online to the moment we got sat so it's actually pretty fast and they did say that there's no time limit on how long you stay in east [Music] so we got two totally different plates his food on his plate is way different from mine mine's gonna be more like italian sushi potatoes and then the shrimp and then for you i ended up getting the catfish with a calzone under it and then two meat lovers slices because i think norma wants a pizza too and then i got a beef enchilada and then under there is a pork cutlet so this is a meat lover's pizza it looks like it's got sausage bacon bits some pepperoni and your normal cheese and the red sauce typical buffet pizza i like it i really want to try this mac and cheese right here looks like they're using a white cheese on there yes it's almost like a alfredo mac and cheese i really like vodka salsa oh that'd be kind of cool to make like a vodka mac and cheese vodka sauce mac and cheese but we got it on top of this actually fettuccine pasta that's nice that's very decent actually i like it a lot the only thing i don't like though they kind of just put all your food together like right now i have vodka sauce all over my sushi i'm not very happy about that but whatever it's okay also probably eat it it's kind of weird too like having to wait for them to serve you because some you know usually you're able to go up there yeah and they're busy like they're doing other stuff too and we just have to wait until they're free to serve us a little fishy scent to it right isn't that bad i mean it's buffet sushi do you want to try this catfish can i have this piece i actually really like those i'll give this catfish an eight plus for sure i like it because it's not soggy which i feel like a lot of catfish like fried catfish gets sort of like that in buffets because it's just been there for a long time it's crispy and it melts in your mouth it's pretty good so we're trying their special of the night which is our peel and eat shrimp i got one cup of those this one it came in a cup so you could just go ahead and grab the cup you didn't really need anybody to put it on your plate for you okay cheers um wait a minute sorry we need some lemon real quick it shrimp it's good your typical shrimp cocktail calzone time it's all right they got green peppers in it red peppers mushrooms it's a little colder by now right it is but i think that's because we waited a while before we actually start eating it but yeah it's still pretty good though so i got the beef enchilada here looks pretty good it's pretty small sampling of it but you know when you're in the buffet you don't really want to have a big sampling so you can have the option of having something else so let's try it out that's really actually really impressive i like the taste on this really yeah it's actually really good okay i'm mexican so i'm very like picky when it comes to my like try mexican food but okay yeah it's good if he says this is a tuesday night so their main feature is prime rib and pilani shrimp plus they have nine different food stations such as italian seafood chinese mexican and barbecue [Music] so we just came from the prime rib station and they are not stingy at all um we actually asked for two different cuts i asked for rare for me and then he wanted meaty medium yeah yeah and then there's some minuto in the soup station and i cannot pass up i love menudo and obviously we got a few limes over here and for me i needed a side to go with the prime rib so i went with the mashed potatoes and gravy and brussels sprouts you know some people don't like it but i actually like brussels sprouts this is actually very nice i probably should the one with the rare because it's a little more rough when it's cooked like medium yes so much there's a reason why they call it their prime rib and peel and eat shrimp night because yeah these are for sure the highlight of the night i love these preferably i like to put lime in menudo but all they have is lemon here but that's okay at least some sort of citrus into my soup oh i've never seen that before no no no you have to i've had menudo but not with with lime or lemon you have to like that makes the soup to me if i don't put lime or lemon at least and minuto it does not taste the same to me it's just it's not the same you have to add it obviously this wasn't my grandma's manure but this was still really good the meat and the soup is actually really really soft and tender so it's very easy to chew also and to bite into the garden buffet has a really cheap alcohol menu mimosas and bloody mary's are only two dollars wines by the glass for three dollars beers are three to four dollars and a full bottle of wine is fifteen dollars [Music] i had no idea this mongolian stir fry was gonna be this much food but i'm really excited because i got all my favorite ingredients i got shrimp snap peas the little corn shiitake mushrooms broccoli and bell pepper and then we kind of started i guess backwards with our yeah with our greens we got the salad last because i think we both really wanted to do like meat and all the the good hearty stuff first so we ended up getting like a kale salad and a caesar salad we haven't been to a buffet in over a year so it's almost like we forgot a proper buffet etiquette we're doing the opposite this way and you can get shrimp as one of your options that's so cool it's yummy it has just a perfect amount of soy sauce so it's very savory really delicious i love how all these ingredients are cooked perfectly so they're not too like soggy or overcooked or anything it's so good that's really good this kale salad wow that's really good they have walnuts in it let's try it out you got like a raisin banana-y flavor i can see that yeah because it's a little bit more of a sweet salad it has the craisins in it it's almost like a yogurt dressing or something right yeah really good i do want to mention real quick last year in summer of 2020 i did do a win buffet reopening video they were open for a little bit but then they did it closed down again not really sure why maybe i just didn't have as much traction so at the moment that buffet is closed but i did talk to the wind concierge and they told me that their plans is to reopen it there's no set date yet so hopefully that one reopens really soon yeah that's a really good buffet so hopefully it opens again [Music] [Applause] [Music] both kind of got the same thing we each got a piece of pie and then ice cream um i got pumpkin pie strawberry gelato and butter pecan ice cream and you got i went with the cookies and cream and apple pie the outer part's okay but the inner part of this really good yeah i like it i really like my pumpkin pie i've made pumpkin pie before and same thing i think it's really hard to mess up pumpkin pie you just make the batter pour it inside and you're done i'm going to try this strawberry portion first you have some too nice it has a lot of flavor it's very like strong it tastes like strawberry milk yeah this one's butter pecan you say pecan or pecan i say pecan it depends it depends if it's ice cream i say butter pecan if it's pie it's a pecan it is bitter pecan ice cream it's it's a little watery but it's still really strong in flavor like 100 tastes like butter pecan the butter pecan on point yeah is it do you agree with me though it's a little watery but it's still packed with flavor it's definitely a gelato right there yes i think that okay i think that's the texture that's what i meant it tastes more it feels more like a gelato than actual ice cream because it's not creamy so final thoughts um the garden buffet here at south point it was really good it's pretty decent um we're just i think we're just excited to have a buffet bag um overall again i really love the prime rib the peel and meat shrimp and the mongolian grill food i think all of that was amazing i don't know what did you think i thought everything was great um one thing that stood out was the beef enchilada i really liked that the shrimp that she peeled that was really good thanks for that yup and uh yeah the dessert i mean i didn't think that's the last thing i had so i'm like i love the dessert yeah overall i i think it's actually really worth it to come visit especially at the local because south point is going to be more towards the south end of las vegas so you're going to find a lot more locals here really good but let's go on to the next buffet let's do it [Music] oh [Music] for this next buffet we're here at wicked spoon inside of the cosmopolitan hotel and casino they are only serving breakfast and lunch breakfast is from 8 a.m to 11 a.m for 38 and lunches from 11 a.m to 3 p.m for 45 dollars and there is a two hour limit [Music] getting your food here is a little different as the food stations are roped off and they do have an employee in front of the line that team to get the food so you can't get too close okay so we just sat down we got our first round here at wicked spoon it's actually really interesting a lot of it is already pre-portioned now for you in these little plates this first one i got is going to be the the beef carpaccio and i got a little cup of chia seeds and you get a half toast of nutella with peaches and a little jam on top so i also went with the nutella with peaches on top and some jam and then i got a croissants charcuterie plates and a salmon bagel nice mix of nutella peach and jam and it's not too big of a slice so it won't fill you up and this is a really good wheat toast to say no wonder bread it's actually really good quality next i'm gonna go ahead and try this chia seed pudding it looks like it has a little bit of coconut flakes on top it's really interesting it's like green it's a very interesting flavor can you try it tell me what you think interesting it's really interesting not my uh not my cup of tea but it's not like a like a faint matcha taste yeah and i know this is breakfast but they still have some really good items right here is going to be some beef carpaccio looks like a little bit of a dressing on top and capers let's see how this tastes that's yummy we also got a little plate of chicory which that's actually one of my favorite things to eat chikuderi i'm actually really good at chicutery board so i'm really excited to taste this that's a really good quality salami right there that was really good and they also have a mini logs bagel like how small is that i think this is like the perfect bite wow that's some really good logs bagel the salmon is very smooth very velvety it's really interesting because you get these pre-portioned servings already so you can have like a plate a cup or just the food itself so it kind of fills up your plate really quick so you're probably going to end up doing a lot of rounds here reservations are available on the cosmopolitan website which i do recommend making but if nothing shows up available walk-ins are more than welcome [Music] one of the first items i got here was a hot pot this is actually really interesting they have like it had soy loin two different types of mushrooms green onions tofu and broth of course nice and warm the sirloin is really soft wow the broth is a little bit more creamier i feel it's almost kind of like a curry almost but this is really really good so we got the eggs benedict it's got an english muffin with ham and a poached egg on top with some chives and butter it's really beautiful i think it's hollandaise are bernie's grenades i think it's hollandaise how is it that's really good yeah we also got some french toast it's pretty easy to pick up too the jam is really delicious very very fruity i like how the french toast isn't like swimming in like juices or the milk and all that other gooeyness and syrup this is really perfect i am going to go ahead and try some of my sirloin that's a really good swirling but it tastes a little bit more like breakfast throwing i don't know how to describe it you are mixing it with french toast and eggs benedict so you're in that breakfast setting right now i'm in that mode right now we both got bone marrow because you can't pass up both they're really good oh yeah bone marrow is actually very interesting i know it's the inside of a bone but it tastes very fatty it's very soft very gelatinous like the taste is so unique all right we're gonna have the crepe machine crepe in this here i can't i can't say it for the life of me chris mastia i think they say right it almost looks like a hash brown from afar oh it does taste like a like a hash brown in a way with like bits of ham in it they do offer bottomless beverage packages such as mimosa champagne bloody mary's or bud light for 21 for the same two hour limit [Music] our reservation was at 8 30 in the morning so we're not really used to eating this much so we went ahead and got dessert already so we only had two actual like regular food rounds and then straight onto the dirt so we're both gonna try our tin desserts so i got the mini molten chocolate cake and you got i got the bread pudding oh my god yes yes yes yeah yes yeah this is still warm as well and the caramel it's like caramelly goodness yeah this one it's like a really thin layer of chocolate cake and everything inside is just gooey chocolate really good and it's warm too and i got the creme brulee it's pretty small i can handle another round but you know what it's only breakfast so a little sneak peak of this creme brulee would be good mine is a panna cotta with like some sort of raspberry jelly on top like me norma jelly okay ready that is really good it's a very light panna cotta at the bottom and the raspberry very very raspberry very flavorful really sweet it's hard to go wrong with creme brulee and finally our gelatos i got the strawberry gelato and you got i got the pistachio and the caramel okay it's funny because it's gelato but it's still really creamy unlike the gelato at south point that was a little bit more watery this is like really creamy it's like if you would have told me this is like a really fancy soft serve or ice cream i would have believed it okay so final thoughts a wicked spoon at the cosmopolitan was freaking amazing now it was 8 30 in the morning so that that's not typically at a time that like we both eat a lot so we only went through three plates and even the servings we got were really really small but that's actually really good so that way you know you limit yourself and then that way you don't have like huge portions that you have to go through but what did you think jay i really enjoyed the very first plate that we had which was more of like the breakfast side of it um i thought that was really good um i wasn't quite ready for like having the bone marrow and the meats yet because it's so early and then i also like the desserts i thought the desserts were amazing that bread pudding unforgettable yeah super good something about that station was my favorite i don't know how it would be during lunch i will say though breakfast you do not get crab legs you have to wait until lunch for that but that's okay i don't even know if i would want crab legs in the morning overall definitely recommend wicked spoon i'm really glad it's one of the buffets that did come back because this one's really great thank you so much for watching please make sure you give this video small pic small pickles pickles i will look this up capers there you go okay what is this bread again top of a muffin english muffin english muffin um you can't hear the crack on it but when you do have the uh the porch on it it's good like the creme brulee is thicker on the inside like usually it's not as thick as that that's thinner it came out wrong he meant what does it what he meant to say is that it's thicker it's not as like thin or watery or runny caramel tastes a little like coffee really okay oh actually i take it back sorry that's pistachio american no it's bbq thank you so much
