The New Day Goes Sneaker Shopping With Complex and Wale

it all started literally started like in this shoe gonna do some sneaker shopping today gonna see what they're feeling what they're not and then I'll hopefully they're gonna buy some sneakers come off some let's go yes sir so guys I always like to talk about significant moments when it comes to sneakers Kofi the first time you teamed up with biggie as a tag team you were wearing some special sneakers so it's kind of the original intonation of the new day and we had just had a match in Miami and then we ended up losing a match and woods comes out and is all whites with the red highlights looking stout you know we spent so much time you know behind the scenes trying to get on TV as a unit and I'm getting the goose bumps again and we finally got our chance in Miami that day and these are the shoes that I had on these LeBron and I've been saving them for Miami you know they obviously have the University of Miami Hurricanes colors on them as soon as I saw these instant goose combs and again you know it's awesome it's it's crazy to think about like where we are now and where it all started literally started like in this shoot you guys said you like to wrestle in Boots you prefer sneakers yes had Enzo Shane McMahon on the show do you think they'll ever be a time where the majority of wrestlers wanted wrestling sneakers rather than boots hmm I don't know I feel like there's the vibe of wrestlers who have more old-school feel sleep you stay in Boonton then there's the guys who the sneakers go with their look in their their persona their their gimmick some Jerry so I don't know I think I could always a mixed bag but I mean who's to say but it's changing more yeah you said I think us but even before you came up I don't remember seeing anyone yeah just seen the news hey paving the way recently we've seen a lot of wrestling themed sneaker collaborations but one that sticks out to me that you guys have worn a lot is an Asics that was designed by wale so I thought I could talk about it but I think we should have the designer and you guys talk about it this was the first joint I did like a mass-produced sneaker it has a lot of importance to me because you know the Intercontinental Championship was very very important like to me it was the work man's title and it was always the guys on the car that you know there was having the best matches they might not necessarily be the the top building but they had the best matches Curt Hennig this guy one day I woke up and it was on the website I want a title yeah [Music] kofi while I actually interviewed you for complex and when he talked about a lot of shoes that you wear you know special makeup LeBrons cadiz but you also wear a lot of Jeremy Scotts first of all like I saw these and why up why is this a shoe you know this is like this straight out of a videogame my style on the ring is very high-flying I wear a lot of bright colors extravagant things and ironically here we are in Brooklyn two years ago in Brooklyn at SummerSlam I wore these and we had like the gold you know the white and gold oh my god they need to make a figure out of those no flame they need to make a figure out it looks so hard to sell well jayveer one thing that stands out for you and I'm so happy you wore this t-shirt are ya girl yes so my friends got me these converses and the Golden Girls are printed on each side of them did you say thank you for being a friend when you got it biggie you're wearing a new Puma yeah man oh I just got the around opal days ago actually came with this Ric Flair's got the Bobby Heenan's you know sure as well I think it's just it's cool to see WWE collab with with sneakers with Puma I think they just keep getting better and better though I thought that was like that was like one of my dreams and it's one of the reasons why I pursue like you know you know meshing the world together I just think it's cool when people are honest fans of stuff and like like these dudes are really by fans of hip-hop you don't sit and be able to do stuff that that's a middle ground some people that might not necessarily be in the kicks or I want to get the intercontinental drugs or I want to get the you know or this capsule and all that I want to talk about growing up your mom bought you a pair of Larry Johnson's I think and you went to school with them and then what happened next I couldn't get my parents to buy me expensive shoes that other things to spend their money on but we would get all of our shoes from Payless Payless Shoe Stores so I went there and I saw a purple and white shoe that looked you know a little bit of a turquoise blue in there well this looks hot so you know got it went to school first day in school the next day and everybody comes up oh you got the LJ's mama's it's like the grip l CH o larry jump I got the L so I'm walking around everyone's like talking about these awesome shoes I have on my feet and then lunchtime came around and people got a closer look oh so we used to call them you know no names you know name-brand shoes we used to call them Bobo's you know those are hell JC got Bobo's huh got home through those shoes away you know just it was embarrassing man biggy do you have any horror stories I think I was too stout as a kid but the one she was proud of was the Frank Thomas yeah the big hurts my wife yeah you guys when the Steph Curry white shoes dad joke twos yeah we're always on like on the cutting edge you're like pop culture I thank got a lot of pickup on this yeah you got all that got a lot of pickup man and that was like the whole segment you know at the time we were actually teaming with the Enzo and Cass and I came out and then just just got roasted and I'm like I actually don't think these are that so listen we talked about everything now you guys browse the shelves see what you're feeling and I'll pick out some shoes oh I ran these he's got big young drugs right which in the 13 okay so you got the Vince oh this
