4 months after Malaysia Airlines flight 370 went missing the search has yielded nothing no debris no bodies no black box in qual lumur the absence of any concrete information has convinced sah beac that someone is hiding something there are far too many holes in this investigation for it to be trusted somebody is covering something up and we're allowing it to [Music] happen along with other affected families Sarah has started a campaign to raise $5 million us the money will be spent on hiring a a private investigator it will also be used to reward whistleblowers maybe they didn't know where to bring the their information maybe they were afraid to bring it to the official investigation team because they believe that somehow they're complicit or maybe they know that they're complicit right so they didn't have any place to go well we're giving them a place to bring the lead now confidentially and we'll provide a reward for them so that if they need to disappear they can somebody must in the no it just cannot disappear huge thing like that but for months as search teams combed the southern Indian Ocean with no results it did seem as if they would never find the missing plane this is probably the most difficult search in human history this was a remote part of the world known for its strong winds and deep treacherous Waters what brought search teams here thousands of miles away from the plane's last known position was a series of communication signals transmitted to a satellite operated by British company in msat these are known as pings and they showed that the plane continued flying for at least 6 hours after it vanished from radar screens if not for the Ping the last point of aircraft we know positively where the aircraft will be is just nor of Sumatra at time 225 before it disappeared from radar commercial aircraft like the Boeing 7 are fitted with a satellite data link this allows the plane to digitally talk to air traffic controllers to their Airline operation centers and to the engine manufacturer in the case of MH370 It is believed that its satellite communication system was switched off early in the flight but its powerful an Anna remained operational and was sending pings automatically every hour the satellite is parked 36,000 km away from Earth at the equator here the transit time of the signal between the aircraft and the satellite is recorded in a satellite and this piece of information allow Engineers to know how far the aircraft is from theing with this information Engineers mapped a circle corresponding to the timing of each ping seven circles for the seven pings received the plan's last radar position was just off the western coast of Malaysia in the anderman sea by estimating the plane's fuel levels at that point Engineers could calculate its maximum flying range combining this with the satellite tracks gave them two possible routes one heading north the other heading south further analysis convinced them that the Boeing Tri 7 took the southern route represented here by these red dots search teams had previously conducted aerial scans here but before they could mount a thorough deep sea search there came news of a possible breakthrough these signals were detected in April at four different locations they were some distance away from the target search Zone but they were the best lead so far could they be from the black box of MH370 a robotic submarine was immediately deployed to search an area of about 850 Square km slightly bigger than Singapore but after 2 months there was no sign of the black box or of any plane [Music] debris this was a hammer blow for those anxiously waiting for news there was hope going and you you hope that you know they'll find it and after all this well and then they said now now the latest perhaps we are looking at the wrong place we are back to square one we have not gone anywhere after 3 months for now the search is on hold till August when it resumes the operation will move back to where the search teams had been working 2 months before this time experts have recalculated their data and think they've nailed the final resting place of MH370 this is an area of 60,000 Square km along the 7eventh arc where the seventh and final satellite ping was transmitted from the aircraft for experts this last transmission provides crucial information about the fate of the plane MH370 was programmed to send signals automatically every hour these accounted for the first six pings received by the satellite but the seventh ping was different it was triggered by something unexpected happening to the plan's electrical systems it suggested that the system has been shut down at that point it's not just a marker you see the previous ping were just markers you know but this was not a marker it was actually a signal that the flight has ended the final ping was transmitted at 8:19 a.m. experts believe that was the point at which MH370 ran out of fuel there is a possibility the Acra through no longer than 8:20 that morning experts think the plane was flying on autop pilot when it ran out of fuel over the Indian Ocean if so it has likely the plane went into a downward spiral before hitting the [Music] water I'm not convinced he's gone yet nobody has shown me any evidence nobody's found any debris from the plane there's no confirmation that the flight is lost for the past month Sarah beac has been leading a campaign to raise $5 million us for informance she's nowhere near her fundraising Target but she's not giving up I owe it to philli to continue to look for him because he's got to be somewhere and if that's alive I want to get him out of his suffering as quickly as possible and get him home and if he's dead then I also still need to be able to bring him home so we can bury him properly I mean everybody needs closure on these things there is no closure in sight at all yeah so uh every day you read of new speculations coming up and uh so that there is you know what I've told a friend you know you talk about closure you cannot even find the door or the window to close [Music] it at home in qualum sakab Ahmad sha continues to struggle with the weight of Suspicion on her brother Captain zahari Ahmad sha we know he he was not the cause of the loss of MH 370 it was never planned by him whatever happened happened he happened to be at the wrong place and the wrong time [Music] hijack pilot sabotage or a pilot out to save his plane from electrical failure these are just a few of the many theories surrounding the events of March 8th finding answers means first finding the plane yet after 4 months the fate of MH370 and the 239 people on board remains a [Music] mystery [Music]
