have cheated which makes them incorrect now we are going to be talking about the cards and Commander people hate the most this is not just gonna be us complaining however for a half hour it is going to be sort of uh a way to tell if you're new to the format hey these are a lot of the cards people are not enjoying maybe take a second look at them or you'll know when you see them that hey wow uh they're picking nerds warmy about this one yeah it's not about warning you it's actually more about like giving you the information why don't people enjoy playing against these guys magic is a game with so many different cards like 24 000 or something so obviously some of them will be less fun than others because of how they impact the game literally every single card impacts game a little bit differently yeah and we pulled our entire audience every single person so if you're part of our audience we've pulled you you just didn't even know it and we've got all of our responses here for the cars people hey all right let's hop right into this and I want to start at the granddaddy of them all the the one that people answered the most but also it is a category so I'll start with the category the category is fast Mana any piece of Mana that when it comes down that's you Mana meaning when you play something like Mana Crypt it puts you up to Mana right away because it costs zero when you play something like Chrome Max it puts you up one Mana right away Max Diamond one Mana right away but the granddaddy of them all the best one on the format in the car that is the cheapest and that people see the most soaring soaring is in something like 80 percent of all Commander decks it sees a lot of play so it could seem a lot more than all the other cars I just listed so it can be very frustrating because this card causes a huge imbalance in the game often putting players in a position where they're so far behind that they feel like they can't catch up and letting one player just absolutely run away with the game we've all had these games soaring so prevalent in this format I would be surprised if somebody hasn't played a game where soul ring was played and that player ran away and won yeah it doesn't necessarily ruin the game but it dictates the flow of the game until sobering and leaves the battlefield or a lot of times you can look back on a game and go oh why'd that person win it's like oh yeah because they had a soul ring for four turns and then eventually somebody killed it and it just didn't matter because they made eight man off of It soul ring I would say there's no card in Commander that I won't play against silvering might be my actual number one least favorite card just because it's it's weird it's fast Mana it's probably the second best card in the format behind Mana Crypt but it's in such a casual setting for some reason like people are just like yeah just throw it in like this is my upgraded pre-con it's got one of the best cards in Magic and it just really like warps these casual games and a lot of the times I see it turn one I'm just like oh that's what we're doing okay and it just kind of like I have to reset my expectations for the game so I think the reason sobering got said more than any other card is because of how much it's seen and that really affects it because I think if man equipped was a dollar and everyone was seeing it in every game it would be just as frustrating and Annoying It's not worse if that works exactly it's like every it's going to run away with games and make people win people cast and turn one cultivates are gonna get way further ahead than you want to see yeah I think the other thing too is like Mana Crypt everybody knows everyone like if you ask anybody what kind of card is manicured they'll be like that's a sweaty card that's a CDH card that's fast Mana that's like well somewhere exists the same thing but you see it a lot more yeah exactly and we understand the availability thing that is very important to go over here a lot more people play soul ring and don't feel as bad about it because every single human has access to story but it is still very frustrating and still incredibly strong yeah I think a lot of play groups need to get on the same page of whether they want to start seeing soaring because I think artist hasn't talked about much but it's one of the cards that swings game the most in terms of like the misery feeling like it can really ruin a game for some people and it's just not talked about in rule zero but let's move on to a different category of cards this is like sexy type slow the game down deny resources type cards and some people would say they violate the social contract of Commander which is we're going to show up and we're all going to play about 25 of this game and we're all gonna do things and you don't have to say that everybody's gonna win that's not possible and everybody's going to play Magic the Gathering and some of these cards like the first one stasis where permanents don't untap say that nobody really plays magic unless you can find a way to offset it in which case only you play Magic exactly so what you're doing is preventing players from taking game actions and in that causes a bit of frustration right when you sit you sit down you want to play Magic and ultimately the card stasis says that you do not get to play Magic you don't get to take game actions you really don't get to do anything except for maybe once in a while you build up with a fan to do something stasis has to be removed for that to continue and happen same is true of winter orb if it's untapped then you can only tap like one thing how silly is that you just don't get to play Magic it pushes the game back it brings it to a glacial hole there's a the game of magic often has a pacing especially early game that's pretty quick you know and it keeps moving along at that pace these characters take that pace and just completely destroy it yeah statistics and winter orb were the two ones that were mentioned the most but there are a few other ones on the outliers these next three are actually kind of all the same card so we'll go over quickly blood moon makes all non-basics mountains so it means that if you're not playing red you really can't cast your spells Back to Basics says non-basics don't untap that's like everything uh nobody really plays that many Basics so if they don't they don't really get to cast their spells and these two have something very specific in common and that's that they punish non-basics and some people like this and some people don't I'm not a big fan of it I think if you wanna if you want to build a better Mana base like you can cast your spouse go for it I'm all for it blood moon and uh Back to Basics punish those both super hard there's actually I think this is one of the most interesting discussions for disliked cards that maybe have a home and the contamination says that only lands can produce black this yeah this card and this card is not just punishing your Basics this is punishing everything but there's enough keep costs so if you can't pay it over and over it does go away faster than the other two it turns out that well it turns out that's not even necessarily true every deck I've ever seen this card in it never goes away they just have like blood gas or something yeah just anything all right and we're moving on to the next category which is game resetters which these are all board wipes But ultimately they're the biggest baddest board wipes the special crew of board waves let's reset the game to a point that can feel very frustrating to play against the first one this is like you've seen it you hate it been there done that been there you've played you probably cast it a thousand times you've probably had a cast against you a thousand times cyclonic Rift seven Mana overload boom bounce everything you don't control and that is so strong because this card is an instant I actually voted for as much as soaring surprisingly yes so when we step back the reason this card is so good is one instant speed do it whenever you want if you're being attacked this that but when you get to do this is right before your turn so right before your turn at the end step of the player right before you bounce everything meaning you get free attacks free reign free go the person who you are on the InStep of they have to discard a ton of cards this card really makes for a really unfun play patterns at times and it sets the game back to zero for everyone except for you yeah there's not a lot of instance that say that like if it resolves you can't lose the game this turn so the second fish is definitely like an offender for extending the game and sometimes you know ideally you cast a chronograph and it basically says like creatures are unblockable who you are but that's never how it plays out most of the time it's oh I don't want to die reset the board and you don't really accomplish too much out off of it you just didn't die which is great for you but it does make the game go longer the next one is sort of Mario's take on cyclonic Rift it's ruinous Ultimatum It destroys all not only impermanence your opponent's control this is just kind of free value gravy Town there's really no risk in playing it if it resolves great this is less of a reset because there's no getting it back it's just gone and it's real real real good for the person who plays it yeah exactly um you don't see us carry as much because it's in my Urdu so it definitely has a big restriction having seven Pips I think this card is very fair overall uh as compared to you know the one pip cyclonic Rift instant speed instant speed I think that card has a lot more like upside to it Russell's made him though it's the it's the resetting everybody well not hurting yourself at all I think that other board wipes that white people's creatures but aren't being talked about here people don't care about them as much because they still get to keep their Mana rocks their enchantments and everything else they had in the battlefield yeah not this time and then the Third Ward wipe which is one of the most voted on cards surprisingly people really are getting sick of this one it's farewell it Exiles creatures artifacts enchantments and graveyards or any combination of of the ones you want and turns out the graveyard thing is just a really extra big kick in the butt because as it makes it so that resetting and rebuilding is even harder than all those other twos like clonograph and ruinous ultimatum they're not in your hand they're not destroyed they're just gone they're they're no longer part of the game and a lot of people just can't stand having to rebuild from essentially scratch I think a factor that you're also didn't even mention there is the fact that this card is six Mana to get rid of everything this is not just hitting this is hitting everything except Planeswalkers which is huge and now like we mentioned with the cyclonic Rift in the removable tomato getting completely reset including Mana rocks and any other kind of setup piece that you have is ridiculous and then you add in what you just said the Exile it is a hard reset and often just it sets the game back to point one and if you don't have cards your hand sometimes you might not even be able to play you might just be sitting there this card is funny because it's like if you look at any board wipe and you're like I wish we could crank this up a little bit this is a board wipe cranked up to the absolute maximum and it's almost like you can't handle a board wave cranked up to the all the way Max because it's kind of miserable in certain spots especially because farewell doesn't go to Exile like all the rest of the stuff it's it's now the only card in the graveyard you can always get it back and do it again I like farewell I like that it resets and is so reliable but I could easily see it uh where where thin on people where they're just like again another one yes again if you're playing against it all the time then it can easily be very frustrating I think I think playing against any card that is extremely good over and over again will just wear on you right it's like if you see like uh not listed here but some somebody mentioned this like skull clip every single game and it dominates every single game it will wear on you and that's why I think more popular cards like your cyclonic rips like your soul Rings get mentioned more in these because a powerful card that you see every game wears on you more than something that is super powerful but that you don't see this next card is super powerful was one of the most voted cards but I actually don't know how often people are seeing this this is stasile's Oracle and it says you in the game if you have no library or your devotion is bigger than your library size I just I'm not 100 sure I know this is huge in competitive circles which is really not even what we're talking about because a lot of the fun talk goes out the window when people just play what they do and everyone understands at the beginning of the game that they're going to try to win and that's going to be fun for them I actually don't know why I thought this Oracle is like so hated is it just kind of like people still just play it in Fair decks and it's still boring I think you're I think you're just incorrect is what I think it is I think people do see this card I don't know yes I do I just it seems like they wouldn't well it feels like I'm more of a sweaty card well well see here's what fastest Oracle is it is the easiest lady to win the game when you're gonna go through your deck or even if you like naturally draw your whole deck I mean I've seen that before and I do still find that kind of funny exactly so this is like is this just like skip to the win um you you don't have to once you get to empty Library this card says win the game and I think that it's the wing count of so many different decks different types of archetypes anything that wants to spin its Wheels until till the end of the game this is the best win con period it really is because it doesn't just like you don't have to draw a card like with a lab man out nope you play it and now hey there's no character Library they can't even kill this it's over because the ETB happened yeah so I mean if people are seeing this I guess I'm sorry part of our our play group is I think we're insulated against some of the stuff because we kind of are in a lucky situation where there's like you know 15 of us that can all roll zero out some of the same stuff so we just don't see this around and I guess I I'm sorry if you see this more because I can see how it would just be so repetitive it's the same thing that I just said it's a powerful card that people are seeing over and over again so it's like small bucks right so it becomes very frustrating yeah let's go to chaos cards these are cards that kind of annoy me a little bit once I know that ahead of time that this is going to be a possibility in the game I'm cool with it but if you throw down a warp world or something that basically resets the board in an unpredictable manner I'm gonna kind of roll my eyes a little bit a little bit Yeah so all of these cards the chaos cards are do exactly what they say they cause chaos they kind of just they're basically dice rolling cards where you don't know what's gonna happen it's a random assault You're Gonna Roll 10 d20s and then you're gonna see what happens from there and warp world is the biggest most over-the-top example of this where everyone literally takes everything they have they put it in their deck and then they flip until they hit that many permits it's like wait what is going on yeah it's actually even worse because you just don't you don't flip until you hit that many you just flip that man oh yeah and like spells or Duds and so some decks just can't rebuild but I think the thing that gets people with these chaos cards warp World being let's say just the Marquee one for now is that they're not like I can't really play a chaos card and say this is going to increase my win percentage a lot of the time it's like I don't know what's gonna happen and it really changes the game warp world might be an exception because there are Decks that can abuse it with a bunch of tokens and if I put 50 things in play and you put 10 things in play you lose but there's other cards like let's go to time sifter it's randomly decides who then who the next turn is going to be you don't the turn order is now you know kind of ruined and it's all about who has the highest Mana value thing on top of their Library yeah and it's incredibly it's abusable too I mean at least if you're doing that you're doing as a wincon but if your word is going randomly again we're kind of looking at the social contract then um where the whole idea is we all want to play evenly and if I'm getting incredibly unlucky I might not get 10 turns in a row that can just happen and maybe I'm not the threat so people aren't killing me so I'm just sitting there waiting and not doing anything for something like 10 turns and that could be incredibly frustrating yeah I could see this being way more frustrating than an extra turn I think this is actually one of the wackiest cards in the format and I'm not 100 sure if it needs to be in the format it's not fun I don't think it's very fun there's also possibility storming these chaos cards whenever you cast a spell flip until you hit something that shares a type with it I I don't like this card I've played against it a few times it does it gets very frustrating because it's kind of unanswerable also yeah you're basically playing playing a separate game of Magic the Gathering where instead of playing Magic you cast your least casting spells and flip off the top until you hit a matching type and it's random you have no clue what's going to happen it's five Mana it completely warps the game around it and it doesn't it literally doesn't feel to me like I'm playing Magic when there's a possibility storm on the field bonus uh hatred for possibility storm is it has uh hard locks with things like other cards you'll see on this list that say you can't cast spells if they're from Exile or you can't cast spells if they're not from your hand and possibility storm stops you from casting spells from your hand and says well no instead it's something if that gets negated you lose at least if we've ruled zero the fact that we're playing with combos then I'm told that that I would rather that happen than try and play through the storm let's go to zer's weirding Just One of the like weirdest I guess weirdest cards in Commander but another thing with all these chaos cards is they are all coincidentally just super time consuming like warp World takes a solid five minutes to resolve time sifter is Gonna Change how everything's happening possibility storm adds at least 30 seconds to every spell that resolves and as there's weirding every time anybody draws a card you have to now wait to see if somebody wants to prevent the card draw I this just kind of it's a little bit much I think everyone could agree we've mentioned how we think telepathy would is absolutely terrible to play with because how do you do it everyone playing with their cards face up it just doesn't work really well it adds so much time you have to do that with this guy it's a part of this character it's a baseline that's the Baseline that's not very fun to do then every time a player draws a card their opponents just always get the choice to paint your life to put into their graveyard instead of having them draw it and you start with so much life that a lot of the time you just do it for free and then people can't really draw cards and then you can't answer there's weirding it's just a whole cascading thing you can literally see does anyone you when you play this you see does anyone have any answers to serves weirdly you could say no and now anytime somebody comes up to an answer forzer is reading just you just say no and no one's gonna draw good cards for the first like five or six turns in a row or probably even more than that probably the 10 turns in a row nobody's gonna draw good cards because everyone's just gonna be like no absolutely not you can't have that good character let your Zenda card no yeah exactly it's like even if it's like oh look it's a removable spell for something else then the one player who's something else is going to get destroyed is gonna say nope you can't have that let's get you some other cards that definitely add some time to the game ristic study maybe you've heard of it whenever anyone casts a spell it's your opponent if they don't pay one you draw a card and this is one of the most voted on cards as well this is like double layers so not only is it really efficient card draw it's super good you're going to see it almost any blue that because that's nothing of you but if my opponent controls rustic study there's a chance for me to lose the game without being involved in any decisions at all because if somebody just kind of wants to play all their spells for normal mana and they're going to cast six Spells at a turn never pay for risk study I just lost the game and I didn't even do anything I just my opponent made bad decisions so now the game's over and I think there's like a mixture of potential feel bads and really really good efficient card draw yeah exactly I mean it's one of the best cards in the format again and it's one of the most played cards in the format so we're we're sitting back at that balance that I keep coming back to and what I think is so important to why players don't like cards you're just gonna see rustic study everywhere because it's so good you can put this in literally any singular Blue Deck if you should and it's it sees play all the way from super casual all the way up to cedh so this card is across the board going to be seen and like I said when you play against these incredibly powerful cards all the time they get frustrating and we all know that guy or girl who just doesn't pay their taxes and they they can wreck a ripstick steady game another taxing card is smothering time if you draw a card you gotta pay two Mana or else I get a treasure this is way less payable than rustic studies so often you'll get a lot more Treasures with it and then you can ramp out of control present more threats that need to be answered but smothering time is still there and it's still a threat and it's like a snowbally type thing yeah exactly it's very very good too and like you said it's harder to pay you see this car all the time it's another card that can just be Auto included in white decks yep and dranith magistrate is the card I was talking about with possibility storm it says you can't cast cards that are from your hand weirdly enough that counts your command Zone you just can't play your commander can't play flashback spells you can't play your possibility storm or knowledgeable cards so it's like a big you know sufficient like tangible hate piece and it's just not fun for a lot of people a lot of people don't like that it's two mana and it comes down quick it's easy to play I think the biggest issue with this one isn't necessarily uh all the stuff I've been talking about but I think it's that it seems to go against the philosophy and the idea of the format player Commander you should be able to play your commander every game um and this is just the best most efficient hate piece to keep commanders off of the battlefield and that really stinks when you build a whole deck a 100 card deck let's just say you spent a couple hours putting this thing together you're doing it on mocksfield.com the best deck building website out there seriously maxfield.com is completely amazing but I need to get back to my point uh this actually isn't the mocks feel bad yeah it's like you got completely destroyed and then you so you built this whole deck on moxfield.com yeah but it still isn't the actual yeah you built this whole deck honestly and you just get to the point you go to play maiden voyage they play this it's like oh my whole deck is built around this card and I just don't have access to it because they played a two-man and creature and that really that stinks and that's a feel bad I think that's what this card is the ultimate feels bad I don't think this card is broken I don't think it's too powerful for the format it might even be one of the weakest cards we've talked about so far except maybe the chaos cards but it is one of the least compatible with the format but it just doesn't seem to go with what the expectations for the format are speaking of expectations if my opponent Taps out I assume they're kind of good for interaction but there's a lot of cards that say there's more to come like force the wheel it's a free counter spell so if you think you're safe nope get you or if you think they're kind of shields down and they're going for some kind of combo or really good play nope you get your thing counted anyway I think it can kind of suck to get got from out of nowhere and first of all it doesn't get any more efficient than that yeah exactly sometimes you you did it you know you found your spot this is my chance to resolve my eight Mana spell for my Boardwalk everybody's tapped out it's perfect sorry nope sorry they are forcible in I think counter spells are a feel bad and um I think there's a couple of reasons I think one only one color really has access to so this makes a weird spot where it's like oh only blue can interact with me in this way that's why people hate blue I think uh it's a whole that's a whole Rabbit Hole of like dislikely we could go down but yeah we talked about how like me and Joe feel differently where if my creature let's say I play four four for four with no text if you do inflate it as soon as I pass priority to me it's the same as if you just counter spelled it but I think a lot of people don't feel that way it feels it feels different I mean I I the feeling feels a lot different I've been there I've experienced both of them it does feel different I'm not they're very similar in a lot of ways but it does feel different and ultimately getting got when you think you can't get got for zero Mana feels the absolute worst things a little bit and we talked about our social contract of let's generally take the same amount of time to play this game some cards they don't want to do that uh Nexus of Fate it says take an extra turn for seven but then it shuffles back into your library there's really no way to stop it from shuffling back into your library because even with let's say rest in peace you could choose the replacement effect you want which is to shuffle it back into my library and so Nexus fate just comes down over and over and it's kind of a thousand Oracle fill-in because if you have no deck and you have Nexus 8 in your deck well you take infinite turns because your next draw is Nexus of Fate so it's one of the extern Spells you will see the most cast by itself like over and over I love this card it's probably one of my favorite magic cards but I had to stop playing it because I had a deck that was literally just spamming it and I was like okay gotta take it account like the play group's thoughts on this one because nobody liked that Tech yeah buddy yeah and next it's expropriate expropriate nine Mana uh everyone votes time and money you vote for and you get a vote so you always vote for time that means you get an extra turn everyone out we'll probably vote money meaning you get their best permanence meaning you take an extra turn with the best permanent but sometimes they'll vote for time and you'll get two extra turns and the other two best pyramids on the battlefield this card is silly we kind of went out of nowhere and I think that's what this one is I think that this one feels like it can kind of just be like a one card combo surprise surprise what's the combo nine Mana inexpropriate like don't die and then cash expropriate that's the combo it wins the game you know that's 80 of the time so people aren't a big fan it puts you in at least the dominating position afterward like I think the worst case scenarios after you cast and expropriate is that you're in the lead how are you not the favorite you're just the favorite to win that card is the card is so good and something very similar time stretch 10 Mana take trucks to turn this is literally they took time warp and staple it to time to itself to itself yeah so we just have double time warp two extra turns a lot more than one extra turns already ridiculously powerful we've talked about in the past on this channel how an extra shirt is one of the most powerful things you can do in Commander yes so when you do two it's even more ridiculous and a lot of times you can start looping Time Stretch because it doesn't Exile itself when you get so much time to find an eternal witness to then replay it then it can just start to feel like you're in a hole and you kind of go wait I'm not playing this game I thought I wanted to I thought I wanted to play let's move on to the annihilator El dorazi so this is two cards actually um there's a few well okay there's two major ones because these are the biggest Defenders here are ulamog the C no not the C yep no wait infinite gyre and Butcher of Truth kazlak so these two cards have the ability Annihilator and they have them in large numbers four when they attack a player they have to sacrifice four permanents so it's never easy yes it's never easy and it's extremely frustrating ulmog's indestructible making it really really hard to get off the battlefield well they both Shuffle back into your library if they go anywhere so you can tutorial or you might see him again I think um I think actually Annihilator is a really cool mechanic I'm like so in the minority but when you cheat out these these these big boys or like even like an artist of cos like or an ulamax Crusher when you cheat them out on turn three four five there is no denying that it can just take somebody out of the game and nobody really wants to feel like they lost before the game even starts especially if you agree to something different than that before the game starts exactly it's not even like targeted removal it's just like start sacrificing your board and after two attacks you you have nothing left especially from ulamag and kazlak yeah losing lands really just puts you too far behind it's very snowbally if you can't answer a cause look before it hits you you definitely can answer it next time because you just lost two lands and two creatures all right next category is these are little they turn off something yeah they're kind of stacks pieces but not really sort of every individual one stops you from doing something specific so let's start with Karn the great Creator which says that all your opponents can activate their artifacts a lot of ducks in this format are reliant on artifacts ramp any non green deck your main source of ramp is artifacts and even the ones that go get lands tend to be artifacts like sword of the Animus still a matter of fact that you can't use while Karen the great Creator is on the field yeah I was surprised to see this one and I think part of it comes from his two-car combo of mycosynthes turning all permanents into artifacts meaning you can't activate your Mana abilities of your lands which are artifacts so it kind of wins the game and locks people out so I think they're like cheap cost annoying like Sony silence effect coupled with the I can win the game if you don't kill it fast enough I could see how this is on here yeah we just talked about El dorazi a little different kind of eldorazi is void WinRAR it says nobody can play even spells your opponent so they can't pay zero they can't play spells that cost two zero four seven six eight false they can play seven that is allowed I was just like why are you going out of order and then I said seven I mean and it's frustrating that you literally can't cast after deck right like that that's a feel bad well there's always a time where I've had this happen plenty they cast void winner and you go five cards in hand all right this can't be too bad two two four eight zero and you're like well that isn't that something or the same thing but you go oh I have four answers to uh void more two two two two two okay I don't have any answers yes we're not doing this yet opposition agent shuts down searching and there's a little bit of an extra dagger in between your ribs because it takes your best card out of your deck because they're gonna go search for it and then you gotta worry about your best card this one's me because I besides hitting fetchlands which I just already hate fetch lines in this format we can talk about that another day nobody mentioned fat chance I don't know how I would I could talk about them for years but besides unique effects I think opposition agent is the most Fair it does scale and it's it's like oh you're playing a bunch of tutors okay this card's really good against you I know I kind of like opposition agent but I I will understand I'm in the minority it's another card you're gonna see it a lot because any black that can just shove this in yeah I don't feel like a counter spell maybe that's why people don't like it because it's the feel the feel bad aspect is there it's like gotcha yeah but not only did they get you they got your stuff like triple gotcha I did see though that they're my my girlfriend's play group there was a game where somebody was playing a higher power deck and everybody else was cool with it so it's fine but then somebody like cracks a terramorphic expanse and they had to respond with opposition agent I'm just like that's evil well I mean if I mean if everyone if everyone let them play it I I playing to win there's your feel bad it's losing your terramorphic in your 50 deck doing Apple agent and now a couple of months ago no wait not months ago years ago now time is an illusion whole breacher was banned from this format that says whenever your product draws a card that's not the first one on their draw step no they don't and you get a treasure in this place exactly the words but there's another version of this card that costs an extra mana and it's only in blue black it's notion Thief it's a three one for four with flash and if someone's gonna draw an extra card nope don't do it you draw that extra card instead yep it's basically just as miserable as hell Reacher but you won't see it as much and there's less Wombo combos because it doesn't make Mana it just draws cards it's still back breaking I really believe that the big difference here um and I understand it's a lot less playable being in two colors you just don't not seeing it as much yeah makes people not like hate it as much and I'll keep repeating it over and over again when you play against the overly powerful cards a thousand times that's when they start to get miserable right I mean how many times do you want to lose to Soul wearing how many times do you want to lose to ristic study before you go yeah this game really wasn't that memorable you know I really couldn't pick this game out of a lineup of other games yeah okay so let's move move on we have to fairies production three Mana you phase out all your permanents and then your life total can't change and you have protection from everything so this card's really really strong and everyone knows in Commander that is strong because it basically guarantees your ability to untap and get an extra turn yeah I was surprised to see it on here but I think for for us we kind of stop playing it a little bit not because it's it's bad or on fun but because we were just like yeah I know what the first protection does I'd rather just play like a cool card and I'd get something it's something I could get more enjoyment out of I don't even think it's like it's probably less of an auto include than people make it seem like too because it's it's like a sometimes it's just a glorified fog and sometimes it's like a weird camera spell when you don't need one so but like there is that time where it's just this huge giant mega blowout you try to kill everybody and they go nope you didn't kill me and now I'm gonna kill you very very swingy yeah it also feels very frustrating because I think it kind of it feels like a counter spell um in a lot of ways where it's like they can't have anything else um I have everyone dead I'm like there's nothing that's gonna save them from this and then they survive because it's like oh or they're the biggest threat at the table but they're holding up three man all games so it's like why could it be what could it ever be so it's like can I ever kill them I'm gonna try um and it gets it's it feels very tough especially it's like I'm putting my resources I'm gonna kill this person it's such it again good card makes for frustrating play patterns I think it's hard to flush out too maybe that's part of the annoying I always see it coming I always see this character a lot of times it doesn't matter it just doesn't matter I can't do anything about it's like I have to kill player B they have to be knocked out of the gamer I'm going to lose all right uh I can attack player B with everything it will kill them the F3 man up no I'm not gonna get there better bring your force of will to make them feel bad for playing a feel bad next we have Dockside extortionists best red card in the format it makes a bajillion Mana for two Mana I could easily see how people are annoyed or sick of seeing this one it feels like I don't even need to say anything about it it's kind of absurdly good I mean it's a combo piece and in high power commander it really takes over um I'm interested this card is very interesting to me because when um I've seen a lot of it in low and mid power and it doesn't feel as busted or broken sometimes it's absurd like there are games even in the low to mid power that I play in that are just like dang wow that thing is absurd but usually it doesn't break the game it doesn't bust the game and I don't feel like it's going to just not be fun but that's been my experience with Dockside obviously other people are having experienced attacks where they're just not having fun and it's making for miserable play experiences yeah this one's not that very affordable and it's definitely like a knock on diversity you know you see a dark side you go okay you know seated a million times it's great okay not really excited reading but next is demand consultation he this is the Wombo with doses Oracle you put the trigger on the stacked for thousand Oracle then you empty your deck by naming a card that's not in your deck and then you win the game this I I guess this is just from our high-powered friends who are sick of seeing the easiest like most efficient Wing kind in the format is easily those two cards yeah I mean I could I can't imagine something wins more commander games or especially CDH games two cards three Mana then demonic consultation uh thus is Oracle I would I would be quite shocked to see that and like obviously I can see why it's frustrating losing to the same thing over and over again can like how many times can I say losing the same exact thing over and over again gets frustrating this is sort of a rules thing but I do think it's kind of lame that you can name a card that's not in your deck like I know there's not really a way to support it I just like yeah that's that that's how the car was meant to be played clearly yeah it was not the intention but it is kind of it's It's funny at least at least the game you are already dead yeah I will name you are already dead and my fastest Oracle Triggers on the stack and then you cockately get rid of your deck and they go all right stifle and you're like ah yeah I think I was already dead at least there's more funny ways to make people draw it into speed like even like Lauren is out now and like she's starting to see play where it's like you want to put that on the stack window cards in your deck I mean stifles I find stifle to be the funniest because that card is I don't think that card is very good I don't know really funny if they forget the onboard Lauren and then die that's pretty hilarious it also is funny it's almost as funny as if you went to maxwell.com and just built the best deck in the universe because maxwell.com is going to help you do that with the super streamlined UI by the way this is actually the Maxwell Dad no way you guessed it no because you guessed the two other times right where I mentioned mocksville.com and it wasn't actually the ad you fools you've been fooled master.com is honestly an amazing deck for the website we use it for all of our decks every single deck we're currently playing have together in paper and some we don't even have together in paper or on that website go follow the nitpicky nerds on there and if you're following our account the most followed account on the entire website then you will get to see all of her decks and we're looking to get to 10 000 followers so help us be the first account to 10 000 followers on microsoft.com yes and we are starting to really get into building 20 decks and this is I love building on such a strict budget but the only way I can realistically even do that is because of moxfield letting me update to the cheapest printing of a card I am not going in individually to see what the cheapest printing of every card is I'd rather just not build the deck Maxwell says no no you can build the deck we've done that before we've built on budgets before mocksville.com and the simple fact of the matter is as soon as Mac show that come out it made building budget tax a breeze it has the price of your cards using whatever website you want you can you can use redactive website redactive website or coolstuffinc.com for your pricing I would use that one yeah I would use that one and then you can just get all the car prices it'll tell you right in the bottom what it's worth oh update the cheapest because I just want the cheapest version of this stock bam we're building on a budget and these next two cards I figured it out they're just Synergy versions of an emblem that says your opponents can't cast creature spells the first one is dictator verbose when you have creatures die they sacrifice a creature and it's just gonna stick around because it's an enchantment so if you have some loop with blood gas or grave crawler or just dummies Ghost Rider whatever and your opponents just have creatures in hand they don't get to do that they just don't get to play yeah exactly it's very in another card there's the exact same grave path though and the frustration is that you can't pull creatures onto the battlefield especially if you if you only have the ability to play one maybe two creatures a turn you're really put into a tough position where it's like there's no chance they're going to survive so this demands an answer they're they're also they're this these characters are absurd grave pact is an absurdly strong Magic card the Decks that are intended to take advantage of them they don't just take advantage of them they make it so they literally read you cannot play a creature until you destroy this card yes I think they sneak under the radar too they look kind of casual but they are really they can be really uh I've actually seen the rough yes I've seen on Twitter a lot of people mention that these are the uh cards that people play in casual that aren't casual at all but they just feel like they're just kind of bogging you down I think A good rule of thumb maybe for for cards you put in your deck if you're like considering the rule zero whatever your rule zero happens to be your play group I think if you look at a card and you think well what are the best plays against this card if the answer is don't play anything that's usually like a red flag where like the best move in responsible card is to not play cards I don't know it's kind of nothing might be rough but I also think another way to look at it is if this card was sitting on the battlefield and I couldn't answer it would I enjoy the game still right A lot of the times the answer is no what would my board look like yeah it's like I can't do anything so it's like it's not fun and if the character's not gonna be fun for you to play against then it's probably enough fun for your opponents to play against and then we got archbener it's the madness cycling discard version where whenever you do that it shrinks your whole team by negative one negative one I think this one basically the same although it's more deceptive if people play creatures into this more and they still die every time yeah Arch fan is really really silly strong and it like you said it basically just turns into a plague with every single turn if I play out a creature the arch fiend of 15 year player is going to make sure the thighs before my next turn it's just like you said it's the same play pattern you just if you play creatures they will die so the best way to play against this is to not play creatures and kill it and if you can't do that that is going to be a really unfun play pattern bonus misery is a creature so it can be reanimated and you'll probably see it twice a game if if not once all right let's head to agent of treachery seven Mana enters take any permanent then aggressive if you control three permanents of your that you don't that you control but you don't own them then you draw three cards this takes anything it takes lands the six enchantments artifacts commanders so this card really just does a lot and the thing is it never happens just once agent of treachery is going to be flickered blinked just used over and over again reanimated cloned cloned until to the point that it's just like okay I can't even I I can't play anything out because my opponent will just take whatever the best thing on the battlefield is if my point is momentary Blake in the graveyard I'm just not gonna play a permanent and that may or may not be fun for me I think it would Trend towards unfund not be able to play permanence but yeah Asian treachery is weird because it steals something so you now have a threat that's a threat but agent treachery just sitting there doing nothing is also a threat because it means you're gonna blink it and reuse it it's just it's it's weirdly one of the most miserable uh game control cards even though there's like a hundred thousand of them this one stands out as as exceptionally brutal yeah because it's the very very best one like I think I don't think there's really an argument for taking control of permanence it's because like even fever you know it's a one-time deal this card is just incredibly repeatable and it's so easy to just keep flickering it when you take a really strong effect and put it on a creature it's ridiculous if they ever print the ETB extra turn creature it will be the most hated card of all time I want it I want it gone yeah exactly it doesn't matter you don't make that card even if it costs 10 Mana it's just gonna walk away games and win so much because ETB take an extra turn is so strong there's a reason we haven't seen that card yet yeah like Soul harder plus whatever that card is even a 15 Nano you know what's going to happen uh glacial Chasm is a card that Joe is kind of called out a little bit as like I'm fine playing in casual metas I'm fine playing competitive Meadows but this doesn't seem like a car that gels super well with casual metas because it promotes land destruction which we're not really trying to do it also um it's kind of it feels like a swerve so my play group is very casual so we don't really do combos we're kind of focused on winning via combat yeah and doing things along those lines to win the game maybe getting large card Advantage so that we're like the big Threat all that kind of stuff but you're gonna win via combat and you're not going to Campbell out so this feels like a swerve like so okay we're agreeing the best way to win a commander is combos that is just pretty much a known thing about Commander so when we agree not to do combos it feels like a swerve to be like okay well no one's in the combo then I'll play great show crabs don't do combat either so what's left yeah exactly so it just feels it feels like really strange and uh because honestly I think glacial Chasm is bad if combos are on the tables yeah it's whatever I wouldn't play it but glacial Chasm is incredible ridiculously and absurdly strong if combos are not on the table so it's almost like a weird meta game you know it's like well if we're not allowing this well then guess what's really really good and it's like I don't know it doesn't sit too well with Me overall glacial Chasm it's a medium card but it can definitely feel bad in the right scenario so I see why people voted for It ultimately it comes down to you just can't win um even if you're the dominant voice but you can't just destroy a land which is reasonable happens every once in a while not being able to destroy a land is not something you put a million of your deck you have some you're gonna play your Beast withins your generous gifts you know things that do hit land you have maybe a strip mine but like sometimes you just can't answer a land and because you can't answer a land you just lose and that is the ultimate feel but if they if they have on the battlefield a um anything like some replay land uh from their graveyard they can let it die every turn and just replay it and then you're stuck in this position like what are you supposed to do you got to get graveyard hate you gotta you have to destroy this land drop the loop somehow exactly and it's it's incredibly frustrating it's a lot harder to do than just attacking your opponent a guy's cradle did you know this card's really good it makes a green for each creature control uh we mentioned manacrypt and soul ring probably is number one and number two cards in the format this is probably number three the rate on it is absurd I think what people really start what rates what really exactly zero for everything and when people start to really get frustrated with is that guy's Creed was a land lands are really easy to find because we're playing Green we're playing gravitation playing sylvan's crying we're playing all this different stuff and you're gonna see it every single game so good luck answering it so guys Creator we know he's absurdly strong I don't think anybody who plays commander and has seen and played against cradle doesn't know how strong it is I think the reason that we didn't talk about it earlier in this video that wasn't one of the most voted for cards is simply because this is like a what 850 card 800 card it's absurd like it's actually we don't see it you don't see it but I think that this would be one of the most disliked cards it would be the character that we'd be talking about this next to soul ring next to the aristic study if it was a dollar if this card was a dollar because honestly it would run games in commander and you would see it everywhere but it being on the reserve list keeps people from singing as much and keeps them from being as frustrated by it but obviously some players have uh some play groups have been playing for 20 plus years so some people just have guys cradle and that's going to be more frustrating for them I mean or you just have the money to spend like I'm not gonna shame anybody for buying the guys because it starts amazing like if you just have if you could just afford it it's like well your opponents might be really frustrated just by how strong it is because you're going to see it every game I would want to see it every game if I spent the money on it I'm going to play it it's amazing and as soon as it Taps for two Mana it's like the best land in the format and the ceiling is 10 times higher than that and one of the most uh disliked mechanics since all of Commander is well in fact uh if you get 10 poison counters ten you're done yeah you lose the game um I mean basically you have to beat out 10 damage of this specific kind of damage with generally bad creatures with yes and then you lose the game but the card that kind of does this the most that will kill you via poison damage is Triumph of the hordes and it can be really frustrating like let's say you you're at like 150 life like nothing's gonna kill me I really can't lose this game and then they go trying for the hordes hit you for 10 damage special damage take your special damage and lose the game and I understand why that can be very frustrating I've never this I feel like overruns are just all very similar trying for the hordes yeah to me they're all interchangeable and a lot of the scenarios where you would die to 10 in fact because they have so many creatures is or because you have so few blockers or they have such a huge thing you would also just die to like overwhelming stampede so I get that it's like it feels dirtier somehow but to me they're all the same it's very interesting I think this is another one that comes down to how it feels because it's like yeah getting plus five plus five yeah getting infected oh yeah exactly if it feels different it's counter spell versus spot removal where it's like they're very similar in it in the way that they affect the game but ultimately they feel different when they happen yeah howling mine is the next one and I think this is like if you don't have the rule zero conversation and one person's just playing like a random group hug deck and nobody agreed to it that's where this card probably gets voted for it's the most like innocuous card but it does just introduce a bunch of resources into the game and if you start stacking cards like this usually the Gap power Gap that is very slight between all these decks will widen real hard and the deck that can ramp and win the fastest will just win I think what's weird for me with cards like calling mine is they're not good for anybody and they're the worst for the controller for the controller because you get the effects of this card last it is really rough and I've just never like I honestly believe howling mine is just one of the worst like for a perform a power perspective it's one of the worst cards in the format that you really should not be playing it like we have it below do nothing yeah like I'd rather play three Mana vanilla because it doesn't make my chances less of winning now obviously there are politics people like drawing extra cards so when you're playing the political game I understand that hey this Now is better than a vanilla 33 plus sure yeah yeah but I ultimately just I'm not this these These are the cards that I don't like playing against the most I'm the one who always answers them because I'm like I'm not gonna just let you just they're always like why'd you do that like because I don't want to lose in three terms because I don't want everybody to because I don't want to play cards that say everyone draws two cards that's not a good card for me it's not good to press fast forward on the game and see what happens like I'd rather just slow down and take control so when the natures claim you're you're uh growing rights not growing rights your rights are flourishing all right another category here Mass Land destruction this could be a quick one uh it's pretty simple Armageddon destroy all lands and this is I don't think we really have to go much further than talking about Armageddon because they're resources those are the resources you use to play the game and this is really rule zeroed out and I think the reason it's not lists a lot is because the the rule 0 of Commander the like the the pregame discussion pretty much has determined that these cards go against the idea of the format and because of that we don't see them a lot but obviously the players who are playing against them are not having a good time because they listed them yeah you could get like I mean you're still gonna get your lack of rule zero LGS random pairings with strangers and when these come up people are not gonna have a good time Seaborn Muse makes a lot of mana and I think people are sick of like profit of group fix was pretty egregious you can easily build your own profit of prefix with C board Muse and any flash cards so it can be just as egregious it's just a very very good card and yeah it it's a must answer threat and it's just becoming more and more available I'm seeing this in more and more decks more people have it I love how much it was slept on like 10 years ago yeah I mean seaboom use is so silly what I mean what a great card and I just just to repeat the point because I think this is the most important point in this video when you see a good card over and over again and you lose the good card over and over again it gets more and more frustrating right and one of our personal favorites or least favorites a card that really doesn't gel with the format at all it's humility All Creatures have no abilities and they're one ones so you can't really end the game with Beats because everything's equally bad and you can't really get any value out of your commander because it's creature but it's so it's a one one with no abilities and a lot of creature decks are jam-packed full of answers with this on creatures which they should do because that's how you build a synergistic deck but then you get punished for it with this yeah exactly and it and a lot of your answers are going to be creatures and when they are it stinks because you're just you ultimately can't answer these etvs do not work with humility on the battlefield this is a card that uh for rule zero I've just had to say myself I've had to like literally say to a family hey please do not play that deck do not play that card it really isn't fun to me it tends to drag the game to a point of like it just it feels like I'm not playing it's like nobody's playing sometimes they bring out like I play an all creatures I can all creature handy deck and when a humility comes out I don't play no I I just I don't get to play and like that's not very fun and any deck focused around creatures there's so many different ones it just doesn't get to play and that really stinks magic in general that's trying to towards creature mattering and over the past like really like 15 years so creatures are dominating that's like the main way magic is played now humility shuts it all down humility is one of the I would say one of my least favorite cards in the format I just would rather not see it if I had a choice but if I do let's hope I find a Nature's claim I'm glad that it doesn't that it's on the reserve list it's not everywhere if this wasn't this is another card where if it was like one dollar it might just be bad might just it might just be banned or it would be again higher on this list like people really would be like people would not be quiet about humility it would be next to Sovereign I just saw this card shut down the whole game it was like yeah and it would like that would be very frustrating yeah um but if you want to check out of our saltiest characters some crazy frustration oh yeah get look at that salt yeah these are cards that people don't like but you want to see the cards that we personally are irritated about yeah we get some we get turns out we're humans and we get salty peace out tribe Scouts
