Hearthstone player rates classic Magic cards

I am a Hearthstone YouTuber uh and I'm going to be rating the second expansion or magic together yeah you're going to be raing old magic cards that most people have never seen these are from Antiquities Antiquities Is Magic's second ever expansion and the first expansion in which magic talked about urza and Mishra the brothers who went to war over some resources in uh ancient dominaria the plane on which magic is set so unlike Arabian Knights yeah yeah yeah roll roll with it you're you're taking it all in unlike Arabian Knights which we did a video for your Channel covering this is Magic doing its own story and it's a story this is the first lore expansion yeah the the quote unquote lore of the original magic set was like it's dominaria it's a plane somewhere Wizards we fight you know bam right smash uh but this they injected a plot uh which I'll try to summarize basically as there's an urza and there's a MRA and their brother and there's a resource called Power stones and they begin fighting over Power Stone and what to do with them and they both do really bad things there's actually a whole book about this January 1st 1998 the brothers War Book uh hard cover book came out so this actually came out significantly after the set but it's the lore the set was based on all right so yeah they've got their own L exting that's something like Infinity War don't worry about it okay I where the Spider-Man's in the Cent right um maybe not it might be a bit too much did you know actually side tangent did you know that the announcement was made that Wizards and is making Marvel uh cards for Magic the Gathering you did tell me this you tell me this that partnership's coming um did they announce if they're doing another one true ring no that has not been announced yet if they do let me know I'm going to buy like five boxes okay I want to be a part of the dream nice to know nice to know that that marketing works I'm sure Wizards will take that into account hey man listen I didn't give a sorry I don't want to say I don't give a [ __ ] about magic CU I do but I have never opened a box of magic before in my life I've never held a Magik heart in my hand if I'm going to be completely honest with you but I was extremely close to opening a Lord of the Rings box just because I wanted to at least see if I can get the one true ring I told you man the guy who opened it was in Canada Toronto I know I know that's why next time I'm going to do it you could have been in that store that could have been your box that could have been me could have been you let's talk about some old cards okay so uh we basically I'm I have seen these cards many of these I've played because hash I'm old and uh I'm a total magic Boomer but Ren raren raren you haven't seen many of these cards and we try to evaluate it basically is it good you talk about like what the card does and is it good uh and then you're going to try to get the price of a lot of these out of print cards sounds good all right we're going to start off with the creatures of the set I'm okay we're gonna hit you with a banger right out of the right out of the game okay so before I before we continue we did the the previous two expansions the base set and then the expansion are creatures good yet you tell me okay fair enough what the hell is this or thopter reading the card explains the card no sorry I meant the name of the card this is look this looks like what da Vinci made back in the day um I'm going to go with that zero Mana okay flying many scholar oh that's it that's going to read the flavor text all right it say zero2 wow this is actually kind of sick uh okay the closest thing we have in hardstone to this is like zero Mana one ones there's a zero Mana 2 with taunts there's a couple zero Mana cards those cards don't really see play unless there's really cheap Buffs or a way to kind of like manipulate the zero cost card for it to be good there's also Shadow step but that's not the same thing um dude I don't know like is a zero a flying card good that's a zero2 the only way it works is if you buff this but it is free so like it is it's got It's you know what I'm going to come up right at the gate here and I'm okay if I'm wrong because this isn't on my channel if this is on my channel I'll take a lot more thought process on it cuz I need to be right on my channel your channel I'm just the gas right people have to be nice to me right no they don't uh uh I'm still going to go with you know what I could be wrong but I think this was actually played I think a zero Mana flying card that you could that has zero2 is actually something that you could utilize to be good in the day back in the day if somebody put this on the table I just laugh at you yo cut this I just laughed I was just brutally laugh at you like what the is it is it baby's first baby's first game is this a meme were you laughing because you couldn't believe someone would play such a powerful card on your board I had a friend named Adam he thought it was the greatest thing ever he collected these until he got up to 60 so he could literally sit down to play a game and on turn one just throw his hand on the table and say go but that was it that was the meme he had no point there was no point to it he just wanted to do it to see their face and let me tell you their face was there was this like weird moment of just so he won he won he won the mental game he won the mental game he would throw the orops on the table go he would wait for the reaction and as soon as the person started playing again he'd be like all right pick up his cards and leave it be like his he he was a bit of a trickster he it was his last game of the day at the store kind of vibe you know one more game okay more game I'll play one more game pulls this out he exit on such a high note though that's basically what you're saying pick him up and walk yeah so that that's what the card was good for in the day why what was wrong with it like there's no way to buff it no there just weren't a lot of ways to take advantage of it but I'm going to tell you something as the as time went on this card this this card has won championships this card has been in so many different types of decks over the years this card is on Arena right now there are Decks that play it in multiple formats right now and it was because a lot of things have been printed over the years that make artifacts better like just having an artifact is useful there's a card called trapnel Blast you can it's a two Mana spell that's five damage to anything but you have to sacrifice an artifact to cast it and you know so boom ornithopter zero stma blast hit you for five you're dead so I'm going to be completely honest with you yeah I didn't realize this was an artifact creature but see now we're setting the tone because everything I am showing you this set its theme is artifacts oh mhh so isn't that fun I'm showing I'm not showing you any colored cards today I'm only showing you because most of the set was the colored cards were trash uh I'm only showing you artifacts and art and lands that make colorless Mana okay I know I mean isn't that I'm excited so uh there was a deck called Affinity it was a deck that where like you had this card called arcbound ravager and you could sack artifacts to make the ravager bigger or if the ravager died it would put counters on artifacts equal to the number of artifacts you sacrificed before it died so like you'd like sack all your artifacts and and you'd put all the counters on the ornithopter and would fly over and kill people uh there was a standard deck called Running With Scissors which is really funny and it's because of an old card whose name is I am blanking on dang it it's really funny but it has scissors on the art and it's a two Mana card and it says enchant artifact artifact this card becomes a five five creature but it keeps its abilities so it still flew that that deck won a pro tour so like zero Mana for this two Mana for that you have a five5 flyer on turn two okay so basically what I'm saying what I'm hearing is I was right but in a WR time you were I just I I just wanted to see your face wait wait okay all right uh yep it actually this card went on to be an absolute Rockstar so this card has been reprinted into the ground we're looking at like 14 oh yeah the value I keep 14 printings I think uh okay $20 $20 for an original copy of ornithopter okay fine $50 $50 for an original copy of ornithopter what okay $100 it's 650 dude e 650 um also I should start telling you because it's not written on the card like it is is in modern times whether a card is a common or rare or um an uncommon so those are the three Rarities at the time common right uncommon rare it didn't really matter much what the commonality was back in the very early days cuz all those cards are rare they were severely under printed but Antiquities is where we start to see a larger print run so this was a common so it's not going to fetch a similar price tag I should have told you that I I will take responsibility L I think even if you told me that I would have still guessed pretty low I don't know why because you said it was reprinted like 8 million times so I don't know why the reprinting of it makes me think that the value of it goes like significantly lower but I'll learn eventually I'll learned yep we're setting the Baseline 650 for an original ornithopter a common that's been reprinted next card from 02 to this nightmare inducing uh Colossus of sardia nine neutral Mana another artifact creature trample colossal oh sorry Colossus does not untap normally during untap phase you may spend nine during your upkeep phase to untap Colossus not untap what the [ __ ] wait this has to be horrendous why it's it's so big it's so big there's actually a really I I couldn't tell you the name of with this card in Hearthstone but it was 6 Mana 88 after this attacks it becomes Frozen when a card is Frozen on your turn it's frozen for like a whole turn not when it comes back to your turn uh so you have to wait like two turns basically for it to actually be playable that card was unplayable like it was so bad a six Mana 88 stat line pretty Juiced up this card is the same concept but now you're telling me have to pay nine Mana each time I want this to to untap bro this is the worst card I think you've ever showed me there is no way this is playable I swear to God you better not tell me this is playable it's bad this card is so terrible okay and but it at the time at the time this was the largest creature ever printed in Magic like we a nine nine and little little danni's let's say might have lost their mind at the the sheer concept of a 99 champ listen little Danny I think I completely agree with their standpoint right cuz it's like man like that's so big how could it not be good right or how could it be bad um here's the thing though to Danny and I don't I don't disagree paying nine Mana to swing each time are we smoking or like are we oh little Danny was stupid little Danny was little Danny was a [ __ ] uh especially when you look at early magic like cards in the there were cards in the format that for one or two minutes just it did immediately kill any creature any creature or artifact I don't even have to think about removal yeah I just I was just thinking about the fact you got to spend nine man at this yeah it's it's horrible you block if you block you have to spend nine Mana to untap dude oh my God in the day in the day people were excited like they saw this card and were like oh [ __ ] you know it's like it's it's I you know what I agree with you I would be pretty pretty excited if this was the biggest card of magic like I we get cards in hearstone that are like a four Mana 1616 we're like holy [ __ ] that thing is insane but it's unplayable look at him he's at the Rock concert you know the he's got the whole crowd doing the wave like you sure that's a rock concert I feel like it's a c ceremony no it's rock concert I've been to plenty he's a star so a financial review of Colossus cardia let me give you some facts it's a rare right it has been reprinted many times about 10 nine or 10 okay okay so how much for at the time the largest creature in Magic original printing because it's the first and biggest creature I'll go with $300 $300 I hate that you say like that 300 300 350 $45 and uh 47 you a GL so sorry come on it's bad you said so yeah but you said it's a rare it is a rare right and there are it's an old rares rares are worth a penny these days too if they suck I wish I wish you showed me this card first because okay it's fine it's fine we'll get the next one we'll get the next what's what I love the contrast ornithopter is such a better card it's such a better card okay I'm over it I'm over it I I have no excuse I was going to try to Cod my way out of this but whatever I am really excited to show you this one um there is also a little bit of context I'll let you fill in the audience on the context uh from maybe other videos okay you want me to fill in the context for this I would love for you too but read read the read the read the people the card first they need to know all right so this is Millstone two neutral Mana uh two Mana to take the top two cards from your target players library and put them in the Target players graveyard the reason I know about this card already is BEC You Didn't Know I knew about this card until we had we started the this call earlier yeah but I did a video on my channel which was looking back on older Hearthstone content creators reviews and seeing what they rated cards at the time and then we like kind of just like had a good time laughing at like what how good the card actually was you roasted them we I okay it's not roasting it's like politely like I'm laughing with them not at them calling you out calling you out as a roast anyways one of the cards in the reviews was called gnome Fatu which is a card in that's a two Mana 2 three remove the top card of your opponent's deck and the at the time the the creater Trump compared it to this card Millstone and this card was notoriously really bad in Magic because of the fact that a you could have four legendaries in your deck you have a way bigger deck you can just discard lands um so even though like if you deck in a magic the game's over it was still considered really bad so he was reviewing no Fatu from that perspective no Fatu actually ended up seeing play in Hearthstone so it wasn't awful but I know how bad this card is it's horrible this card is horrible is horrible your rating is that this card is horrible are you going to tell me it's not I I'm just making sure for the record that that we're on as far shut the hell up it's bad I I want I mean Trump you're the one who roasted his review what if he was wrong about this card listen I'm not roasting his review I don't know why you're putting it like that I was just okay anyways regardless he said in his review for Gnome for a 2 that this card was bad uh-huh and and he's right yes okay and I'm listen I don't know why you're making me second guess this you're not going to make me second guess this it's bad we we discussed this earlier what are you talking about unless unless hold on hold on oh you're so you're so smart in the fact that you planted that in my head to confirm my bias immediately but now that we're at the card you're making me second guess myself to make me believe that it's good because you we had that conversation earlier I'm not following for it it's bad what if I told you this card was the card that won the first ever Pro Tour this is it um when you say one I don't believe you it was the win condition it was what ended the game okay but does that mean that it was the win condition for the deck that won it was a blue white control deck played by Michael lanto that was designed to shut down the opponent's game plan blow up everything they ever played counter everything they ever did and then this was how they won because when you have an empty deck in Magic you lose the game yep it was it was this was the wi con the official win Con in the very first Magic the Gathering Pro Tour winning deck now that said you're right this card sucks the emotional roller coaster I just went on for that this card was reprinted uh a few several times um is recently his sixth edition saw Zero play um but this card I wanted to show you this card I wanted so badly to talk about this card this card set we'll call him little Danny again little Dan is now a character in our videos of a much younger magic player who may or may not be somewhat similar to Yours Truly just somebody I'm very aware of their exploits um Lil Dany was at that first pro tour watch those finals and little Danny had never found his place in Magic you know he sure creatures are cool and that's great and trying to figure out how to beat each other to death but oh my God Lil Dany was never the fastest he was never the strongest but but man he could hang in there he could take your best punch wear you out and outsmart you in the end take all that you had to throw at him and still win and that to me is what control decks do they they they say come at me bring it and this was like the wi Con in the first true control deck you know just no creatures no damage forget it come at me I'm not going after your Battlefield I'm focused on your deck I'm going to take everything you have from you and oh my God it put me on a whole new path with magic that I've never I mean Danny has never veered from W listen I'm so happy for Danny that's really nice really sentimental story there it's unfortunate his entire career path was based on or sorry his entire archetype path was based on a bad card but look how far he's made it right there is a card so Millstone it's very interesting it's a very tilting mechanic we talked about this in your hearstone video that players hate getting M the psychological damage right it's so strong and if you're the person doing it like feeling that kind of power against your opponent is so strong and Millstone has led to a lot of a lot of cards that Mill and right now I play in standard a deck that Mills people out it it the the card isn't Millstone it's better than Millstone it's a card called Jace the perfected mind is my wi con but that's what it does like it Mills the opponent for 15 at the end of the game and just ends the game andell yeah I I play cards like this like it still to this day is something people enjoy doing yeah I'm just kind to put this out there too um you talked about feeling the power The Infinity Gauntlet the Stones it's all coming together you no I'm just going to put it up yeah yeah yeah you're learning a lot about me today that's okay that's all right little Danny actually grew up to be Thanos and he's so invested into magic and the lore the lore is based on Infinity War so it's all coming again you better hope you better hope I don't find one more Stone snap you're in trouble all right that's all I got to say you should have aimed for the head true true all right next card candelabra is that the word candelabra is the word candelabra of tanos tanos let's go with that that sounds correct what is that by the way that's a crazy candle holder one neutral X Mana to untap X separate lands X Mana untap X separate lands so if I spend three Mana I untap three separate lands yes y isn't like insane why is that well like because it's Mana cheating how you have to put one Mana in you get a land Taps for one Mana right you get one Mana back it's it's it's it's Mana masturbation like twiddle T TD it's Mana refreshing uh refreshing that's what you call it I'm going to refresh I'll be back give me give me m minutes holy [ __ ] I need a good refresh right now that's crazy I'm going to start calling it that I just Mana masturbated and now I can have 10 Mana again okay that's that's it's going to flow so perfect anyways um this kind of effect can be really good for a combo turn when you need all that Mana now I'm basing off a card in Hearthstone called twig of the world tree which is a card well actually I guess that's not really the same thing but it kind of does the exact same thing here it's a card that says you have you have to attack five times but the death rle of that weapon is set your maximum Mana to 10 uh and you get all the Mana crystals so with Druid you play it on turn four you attack five time you attack four times and then on turn 10 you go weapon or you you use your Mana you attack with the weapon you get all 10 Mana back and it's like you spent the four Mana earlier but you get the 10 Mana back now this is almost the same concept almost it's worse though right because you still have to spend Mana to untap the lands so you're not really refreshing Mana but you get to like pick the lands that you want to refresh cuz maybe you need a specific color uh you know now that I bring up tin of the world tree I think T of the world tree is just an infinitely better card now that I say that out loud I'm really glad I brought that up I think this card's now bad why would I want a Mana m masturbate if I'm just not going to be able to you know ejaculate blue ball yourself yeah I'm Lally like blue balling myself there's no pop off right that you're just you're just there you're looking like a [ __ ] idiot no it's bad it's bad okay this isn't way you don't want to do this not not at the table not at the table um completely you know within the context of one man Mana Taps for one Mana you're right uh this card doesn't really do anything it that that's the interesting thing about it l a card that almost does nothing right but what if there were lands that tap for more than one Mana see then that's Mana cheating refreshing now you're now you're now you're getting the pop off mhm so if there's lands that let me nut this card's good F we'll just keep it at that we'll we'll say that's correct and maybe we can revisit it a little later how about that how about that what maybe we'll just put on the side but for fun let's do a let's let's do a little um review of the price you know this is a rare it was only printed once it's on What's called the reserved list which means they'll never reprint it so that has to mean it's it's good H um kind of been wrong on both of them so far but it has to be worth more money right $550 $799 okay you know what it's not the worst guess in the world no it's not not a bad guess you you went higher than like where we've been on any other card so far so I think that's the right Instinct you get credit for the right Instinct you're paying $750 to just yourself that's crazy magic players if there's one thing you know if it's if if it's if it's the right Vibe they'll pay any any amount I I want I don't want to be at that table when no you just light these you light a couple candles you put them in your candle laa and you get nice and comfy you know how it goes this is a card game right yeah yeah yeah yeah this is a family channel Actually I don't even usually swear like you're you're kind of breaking the mold already I'm sorry I'm sorry I you didn't tell me I wasn't allowed to so I'll keep it I'll keep it under wraps no F it's fine they can handle it it's it's average age over 30 and yet I don't swear you're a family man they appreciate it uh mous Factory what is this in a tree what's going on here I I don't know uh this isn't land to M's tree house I don't get what AR this is a part of this is a part of the infinity warlord so I don't remember this um maybe I got to rewatch those movies tap to add one color Mana to your Mana pool or give any assembly worker plus one plus one until the end of turn one neutral Mana Mr Factory becomes an assembly worker a 2 two artifact creature until the end of turn some Le worker is considered a land as well can I attack with the 2u the turn it's transformed you can the turn it's transformed you can't the turn you put this into play from your hand okay so this has Summoning Sickness like per se mhm cuz it comes in Tapped it comes in Tapped uh it does not come in Tapped oh it doesn't come in Tapped okay so there's Summoning Sickness Summoning Sickness land I guess is what I'll describe it okay tap one on I mean that seems like it's pretty freaking good right I'm kind of down for it in the right deck I kind of like the fact that you just get a worker that's a tutu that attack it's kind of annoying it's like chip damage it doesn't block but it potentially just causes your opponent to have a little bit of an issue if you want to spend your Mana it's like versatile Mana that allows you to spend it if you have nothing else to spend it for and I think that's pretty great so this card's probably was good this card is the first ever creature land land that can turn into a creature and go attack the opponent and it would go on to be a very popular thing in Magic there are 10 creature lands at least there might even be another like a cave based one there might be 11 creature lands in standard legal right now uh creature Lands End up uh popular in a ton of formats and this was the very first one the concept alone was very unheard of back at the time and it did take people a little while to figure it out but yeah this card is awesome uh M factory would be a WIC Con in World Championship level decks uh let's go the the thing that's great about it that isn't at first obvious until you play against it when the opponent plays a card that destroys All Creatures your factory is a land it doesn't get destroyed so they clear like they clear the board or you clear the board and then the next turn you activate your factory and attack with it on an empty board you know it's like they can't get rid of it EAS yeah they can't it's hard to kill that it's very hard to kill yeah uh I actually remember in the base set you showed me you showed me a card that interacts with lands I think yeah um and I think you said that card was bad I can't remember what it was it was like like enchant land and enchant land can't do something it was the card was consecrate land I showed you a card called consecrate land yes that sounds familiar $1 doar and it says all enchantments on target land are destroyed and land cannot be destroyed or further Enchanted until consecrate land is destroyed so that D that all that did was get rid of the enchantments on a land oh God that even wor it would actually make the factory indestructible that's a combo the land cannot be destroyed we we busted it we we really busted mistress Factory if time travel ever comes out we're popping off if they had figured this out back in the day it dude Back to the Future that's what we're going to do we're going to consecrate land on mistress Factory yeah people will go back in time to beted on the lottery no no no we're changing Magic's history no the um so the deck I told you about that won the pro tour the first pro tour with Millstone it actually had another quote combo in the deck that uh could be a windc con it was they they played with mistress Factory so conceivably they could attack the opponent to zero and they played a called called hollowed ground hollowed ground is an enchantment that for two Mana uh it's two Mana for the enchantment and two Mana to activate returns a land you control to your hand oh so they could every time this was about to die they'd bring it back and just play it again that's pretty nuts it's it's actually stupid this C single hand it just singleand wins you games right like especially in a format that's low power level this card won me my first tournament ever yeah in yeah my my first tournament ever clowning the fools I I did the lethal damage with mis Factory because all my millstones were removed from my deck holy [ __ ] my opponent played a card that removed all my millstones from my deck I had to beat him to death with these lands but it worked hey man yeah it just shows you how useless Millstone is shut up okay I I I will will tell you those finals are one of my the most favorite moments of my life because I had never won a game with mistress Factory before it was in the deck IID used it to like block a few times and when my opponent resolved this card and I might I might ask you about it later so I'm not going to say the name of it when my opponent resolved and used the card it exiled three cards from my deck and he grabbed my millstones and I thought the game was over I was like I have no chance no chance I beat him to death beat him to death with M factory what a beautiful they stole my cards and then I beat a man to death Magic the Gathering has some great stories I turn into the guy from uh home alone like when I'm when like magic is going bad I like SC a freaking m i get you I get you we've all been there oh my God yeah like that something like that it's fine remind me to not play magic with you you got to be [ __ ] scared of I don't want to play magic with you I I specifically don't want to play magic with anybody I know I like I'll play Commander with my friends because the vibe is like I'll play Commander with you I don't want to play One V one magic with anyone I know so like like it I get I just get too into it man and you'd think I'd be over it after like 30 years uh-uh it's hey man you're you're you're a gamer you're about it I understand yeah exactly I get it I get it so yeah I mean if you're sitting across from me I'm going to beat you down with this mistress Factory I'm going to smile while I do it I'm going to be such an [ __ ] did we talk about how much mistress Factory costs an original mistress Factory no we did not I'm going to take a fat guess right now $875 don't you want the context nope that's 100% accurate okay but I'm going to Now list the context and uh we'll see how your facial expression changes so this was an uncommon there this has um a trait that very few cards it was new at the time uh very very new at the time okay they made four different printings of this with different art in the same set so it's uncommon but it's an uncommon four times in the set oh okay the version I showed you is you know just to scam you the cheapest this card has also been reprinted uh seven times okay so so $800 let's go with like 450 I thought you were going to get it there for a second 44 4460 but 4460 $44 60 Oh I thought you were saying 4 4,000 I was like wait what 40 okay off just getting just getting your attention checking if you the [ __ ] is the last card more money than this card I don't know uh but I mean actually I do know I I'll show you very soon uh that candal Abra has been worth a lot more too that card actually has come down it was like it was worth like I think two grand at one point during the pandemic holy [ __ ] anyway you'll know it when you see it okay let me show you this card mishra's Workshop that's that's a crazy looking Workshop tap to add three colors Mana to your Mana pool this Mana may only be used to cast artifacts oh that's a land yeah no that's that's a land that's you said to me that everything in here is like artifacts right yeah it's an artifact set I think this is pretty good you think it's good it's amazing isn't it you can't tap it for any it can't cast anything else can't cast a sorcery can't cast a creature can't cast an instant can't cast an enchantment can't cast Charizard your favorite card here's the here's the thing okay if you're putting this in your deck it's because you have enough density of artifacts for this to actually be playable right you're not just putting this in your deck to put in your deck you're putting it in there for the artifacts to be cast and the additional Mana that this grants you cuz one land for three Mana per turn is pretty [ __ ] powerful so if there's any artifacts you want to cheat out earlier that are game-winning this is good and I'm going to hold that that Mana cheating is the best thing you could do in a card game even if it's the specific so it's good this card is busted absolutely bu dude let's go yeah dude this card is insane like yeah lands don't tap for three Mana uh without significant drawbacks or and yeah M's Workshop like I think they still call the Vintage deck that plays it like shops because that's how crucial it is to the whole thing uh so yep and uh remember our friend candleabra of let me go back yep yep yep yep yep yep so one Mana say from another land like a mistress Factory to untap Workshop I understand why it's good okay yeah now it's all coming together yeah it's all coming now you're cooking cuz that's like not you're not just nutting you're just nutting you're nutting everywhere like that's a huge nut just to continue that analogy because we need to yeah yeah but no it's that's like it's insane man yeah you just need a M's workshop and another land and another land and two calabas of tanos and you can cast a Colossus of sardia a 99 trample holy [ __ ] he's right you can't untap it but you can cast it holy [ __ ] he's insane no there were a lot there were enough good artifacts honestly it doesn't matter if you're getting that much value for the Mana there were artifacts that can take over the game from that point so this card was absolutely cracked and is still uh a very unique card will never be printed again okay this card is banned in an eternal format called Legacy but it is legal in vintage with and it is legal in Commander okay oh my God I'm assuming it's worth a little bit more than the last card uh if not a lot let's go for like 900 Final Answer 900 the current price for this card is 2,000 $283 it's a banger it's a banger it's an Aller the jump points are so hard to like it's just they're all over the place it's like someone just at a dart board and they're just they just fire and that's the value of the card like there's no logic behind half of these you don't think it's worth it to have three Mana I I mean I I think I think this one had a tell that it's um legal in vintage and Commander um here's the thing here's a i you're entirely right if I was a cultured magic player right and I had more of a concept of how many players play that I know Commander really popular but I am a humble Hearthstone gamer and as much as these facts are relevant and maybe could guide me to the right like I I I I gave it like a 900 I think that's pretty fair yeah yeah uh the fact that it's worth two grand a lot of money remark remarkable it's pretty somebody um somebody who I know well and like playing Commander with uh and she plays for fun like she doesn't play spiky decks she dropped one of these against me in a game that we were recording for Content I was like oh God what are we doing here oh did she win yeah she did she won she definitely won makes sense makes sense makes sense yeah cheating cheating on Mana to that extent is insane okay now that you're on that tangent let me just ask you a question here so I record these videos with another condo Creator his name is Lieutenant Eddie he's he's he's he's ALS he's Canadian me and him like we have a really good Dynamic and we do basically the videos I do with him are ideas I come up in my head that I can't do with normal hearstone so for example the one I posted today is Hearthstone but you can only play one card okay the concept of these ideas are supposed to be a little bit more like Meme and fun but we always have this weird problem of like sometimes I bring Decks that are too try hard and then other times he brings Decks that are too try hard do you have that happen on often well now that we're done with the ad for your channel um I had to give the context so um what you are describing is the commander problem it is the the challenge of Commander specifically as a format because uh there are people who definitely build with the idea of winning and they use whatever cards are in their collection or that they can get their hands on or that they proxy or whatever their whole idea is you know to build the best deck possible because that's what they enjoy about a magic optimizing the deck and there are people that build for Creative expression and to do things they can't do in other formats and like these types of people come together they don't know each other they don't know what each other was thinking when they built the deck and they try to play a game and there are a lot of games of commander and I think a lot of people sound off in the comments have been there uh where you play a game of Commander where one person just came to like beat the whole table on turn two and everybody else came with nice honest magic as the meme is called it's called honest magic the meme that you know we all play at the same speed of cards at about the same power level and uh that's the that's the meme for it and yeah it is it is the commander problem is with such a huge format all these things legal and so many different types of players in Magic especially being a social game and I'm going to tell it like it is you I'm talking to the camera now I'm talking to you at home you some of you aren't the most socialized I hate to break it to you some of y'all ain't the best at reading the room all right so it happens quite a bit that you know somebody who seems fine quiet dude sits down at the table with you and then you all Shuffle up cuz imagine the investment of a commander game right there's four of of you they're Singleton decks you build your deck all week you sleeve it up you drive to the game store you Shuffle Up you all draw your good opening hands you start your turn progression and one of you takes all the turns in the game and takes all the time and does all the actions and everybody else does nothing and then it's over yeah it's boring it's terrible and some of some of y'all don't you don't read the room I'll show you a new card how about that yo sounds like a good idea strip mine uh tap to add one color Mana to your Mana pool or place strip mine in your graveyard and Destroy one land of your choice oh my [Music] God no that's insane yeah that is good hold on destroying okay adding a color man to your manol is good but the second option here is really intriguing because you're you're sacrificing one of your lands for the purpose of destroying one of your opponent's lands and you get to pick the land which could be really good because there's lands that are like better than others as we establish with our last two card reviews yes I feel like if you need no like I there's very few ways to interact with lands right so there were more back then but nothing like like this is this is free it's the cost of a land drop you don't pay Mana I think this is nuts I think this is really good I think the versatility of the car like if you the thing about these lands that you show me is it's kind of a dead giveway because the versatility matters so much in this if it didn't say play strip m in your graveyard destroy one land of your choice sorry it's that it's that the only line it said it didn't say add one color Mana then there's a lot more conversation to be had but there's a these remind me of a keyword har now called tradeable which is all these tech cards have the ability to pay one Mana to shuffle it back in your deck and draw an additional card right so like if you when you need that Tech card like you'll just draw it later in the game because you don't need it now you can just trade it for one man and get a different card and it makes all of these tech cards so much better and this is the same principle right like I don't need to use the strip mine to kill one of your lands yet I could just use it for mana and the second I actually need to then I'll just do it so it just ends up being a much better card and this is even better because it's just on your board giving you Mana rather than you paying one Mana to draw a card so it's insane it is it is insane this this card is absolutely busted um and the it one tournaments I mean it won so many tournaments it was in the World Championship uh the very first World Championship win winning deck for Magic head strip mine um yeah the obviously lands are really good so blowing up lands becomes important right I also I also really want to point out here this is like one of the first times that I've seen a magicard and I really appreciate the flavor that they went for because if you strip mine a piece of land you're destroying it and I think that's really nice thanks for listening to my T talk flavor we got a flavor fan over here it's good to know it's good to know I love flavor I was explaining it to voxy with our three-hour like nonsense session when I supposed to draft her that I think the best thing about harstone recently is how good they have gotten that flavor MH um and it makes you really appreciate the story of the card and I feel like it's harder to design the flavor of a card than it is to come up with like a good card it has to like it has to be a package and I think this is the first time strip M's really like the first time a magic card like strip Min is really like made me appreciate it I think flavor is generally underappreciated I think that most people are just like oh yeah it's there they don't realize like what went into it and yeah even in these early magic sets like there was a lot of care put into like the vibe if you want to talk about vibes from the Flavor yeah I 100% agree I put this in here because I wanted to tell a story it's one of my favorite magic stories um it so Richard Garfield is the creator of Magic the Gathering okay and uh this is a story I've heard like a few places I wasn't there it's like it's it's another one of those that could be an urban legend but um I've heard it enough times I believe it so uh Richard Garfield is doing a like meet and beat like you know where like you can sit down and play a game with him and uh you so uh the person who was there like walks past the table and Richard Garfield has this huge line of people waiting to play him and there's a person sitting down to play him just monologuing about how much he loves the game and how awesome magic is and how it's just changed their life and all this beautiful stuff and so the person becomes inspired and he comes over and looks at the board state of what's going on in the game and this person has Richard Garfield in what's called a strip mine Crucible lock Crucible of world says you can play lands from your graveyard which means you can play strip mine and every turn sacrifice it to blow up a land and then do it again next turn for free turn that's not toxic it is it's so horrible and he's got the creator of the game with a huge line of people waiting to play him locked in a crucible strip that's actually really funny though and just monologuing at him about how great his game is monologuing him that's that's pretty incredible what did what did the guy what did the creator do he just took it he's waiting I try to picture I am not nearly on the level of a Richard Garfield I am I am just a content creator but I picture if I'm doing an augra signing at a at a convention and somebody like sits down and plays me and strip mine locks me while monologuing what would I do there's nothing I can do I would probably say sassy stuff and just try not to boil over cuz again it's like the most wholesome beautiful monologue combined with the most weird dynamic yeah with the most toxic possible game playay it's it's actually the perfect play it is that's that's that's Peak Peak Perfection What can you do what can you do holy [ __ ] that's pretty funny so yeah that's pretty funny I wanted to tell that story I thought that was one of the funniest things I've ever heard all right so price review strip mine let's give you the facts okay uncommon with four different printings in the set just like mra's Factory had okay and has been reprinted six times since it's not so it's not on a reserve list it's not on the reserve list okay it is because I think the the reserve list seems to matter quite a bit it does uh I'm going to go with oh sorry go for it it's Bann in Legacy which is a format where you can play four of old cards it is restricted in vintage meaning you can only play one copy of it in vintage which is for all cards of all time it's legal in Commander uh let's go with $650 $650 yeah meltdown because like like I told you candle of toos was like $2,000 my strip mine was worth like 50 bucks I'm like this card is better this is the best freaking Magic card that's what D I'm saying they just go to a dart board and they fire it and that's the C that's the price of the C noic the social side the commander thing is telling that's the little hint it's taboo to blow up your opponent's land that is the social thing that gets you like kicked out of the game store so because it's it's frowned upon a commander the card's worth less I think so interesting yeah okay crazy crazy this card I think this card should be in every like it's good enough to go in every commander deck but it doesn't that's that's because people care that's nice that gives me hope in humanity I it makes me sick like don't they want to like are we not here to win you know so anyway I now I see why you don't play Commander every single day I I would play Commander every day um just with people who understand that we're here to be evil to each other it's the most that's that's what's fun oh okay I got you sure sure sure it's fun he says it's fun all right I got I got cards for you I'm I'm going to give you three cards because they they come in a set you know like Tupperware all right okay yeah what the hell uh firstus mine this another land these all lands mhm they are okay all right versus tap to add one color Mana to your Mana pool if you have urs's mine urs's Tower and urs's power plant in play at the same time tap to add two color Mana to your Mana pool okay so this is one Mana but if you have all three lands it gives you two Mana yeah guess it's all the same thing they're all the same thing close Tower Taps for three if you have all of them oh sorry my apologies uh yeah so Tower they're all the same thing but with Tower if you have all three in play wait a minute so if you have all three of these in play you're getting seven Mana for the cost of tapping three lands yeah and I'm supposed to evaluate them together I guess right because if you're putting one you're putting all of them it would be really funny if you just like somebody I just I really like the mine I'm not a huge fan of the Tower and the power plant though uh man that's a I can you imagine running like the the urza's mine as a metac called to get your opponent to use their strip mine on it that's [ __ ] that's insane that's that's gxy I don't even play the other ones I just wanted you to waste your strip M dude I'm telling you we would reinvent The Meta if we can go back yeah that's insane that's the mental damage cuz then you you reveal to them at the end of the game that I never had any of them yeah I just like the art that's what you tell them look him straight in the eye after kicking their ass taking their lunch money I like the art okay I think that here's the thing all of these individually are fine so are you willing to put all three of them in your deck in order for you to potentially get a huge payoff yeah I think you would to be honest I actually think it's probably really worth it and I'm guessing I don't know if this is 100% correct maybe not at the time but definitely later on there's cards to fetch anything from your deck like you said earlier and there's probably cards to get like specific lands I would imagine so if that's the case and you hit a critical mass to get these pretty consistently insane cards very good analysis uh this these combine like be they are known is Tron öa Tron uh when you get them all together uh it's kind of like giving Voltron a name you know what I mean so it's called urza Tron when you have them on the board together Tron is a popular deck archetype has been for God over a decade I think in the format called modern modern doesn't play his old cards is legacy and vintage but and it has a big band list of like broken cards and in modern Tron is like a beloved deck modern is a super popular format by the way if if you hear about a deck in modern it's a big format it's not quite Eternal but it's a big format and like a lot of people play it so uh it's a saying it's a good modern deck means really popular in Magic terms and that it's been like that for a decade which is kind of unheard of not many decks in modern have been around that long and it's really bizarre because Tron has won tournaments in the past and it was competitive as recently as last year uh the one ring was a card that got printed in The Lord of the Ring set legal and modern and it got played in Tron it gave New Life to Tron which was really cool so um yeah the ersal lands because you can tutor them and because you can hit seven mana on turn three from them have stood the tested time as a very iconic uh piece of Magic the Gathering that's beautiful it is it's beautiful inspiring very inspiring yeah so inspiring financial review oh god of the Tron lands oh boy um how do we do this we'll do we could do them as a set like how much does it does it say okay all three of them together three of them cost you yeah all right let me give you the facts of the Tron LS uncommon all right in Antiquities each of them each of them had four printings okay it has been reprinted uh how many times three times nope one two oh we'll go with three times they're talking about like four they're counting four in printings is separate not important it's been reprinted three times it is legal in modern Legacy vintage and Commander and even popper which is a format where all rares are banned okay so a set of Tron lands from the original printings in Antiquities there's so many formats it's so I'm I'm rting this as Al together mhm uh let's go with ,700 $1,700 yeah yeah yeah what if I told you you could have a set of these incredibly powerful and popular lands for $67 holy [ __ ] I give up I give up stop asking me how much they worth I'm just going to just say $1 the same I mean I I wish I could send you out on a high note magic magic Finance makes no sense I there are people who make uh living of it like they make magic the Gathering Finance content I doesn't make sense to me I have no idea I would be terrible at this to be honest professional D players right yeah I play the game I play the game fulltime for a living I probably wouldn't get this if I weren't on this side if I were on your side of things I would be off on these numbers like I doesn't make sense to me it's like also I play a game that doesn't have any like monetary value with it right it's just pixels on your [ __ ] screen so I have no it's hard to like really gauge what cards are worth um especially these super rare ones cuz you would think like a 20 plus years they would be worth so much more like for an original so I don't know it's really hard to gauge raren the monetary value in Hearthstone is the noobs we
