the movie starts at a fish market where two guys Kung dong cha and his buddy Chun seek are unloading boxes of fresh fish they work as fish suppliers and deliver fish to different fish traders in the market soon there's a bit of chaos caused by some guys from the merchant Union they are upset because some Merchants haven't paid their fees one of the Union guys pushes a merchant and tells him to leave if he doesn't pay up tun s complains to dong chall that the merchant Guild reps still owe them money but when the group of Union guys passes by they show Respect by bowing their heads shortly after dong troll gets a phone call and they both hurry to meet the caller later dong trol and tunick meet with chairman Park and a guy named Lee Lee wants them to invest in crabs after seeing the crabs they could invest in dong cha and chunck become interested in putting their money into this opportunity with Lee and chairman Park meanwhile dong Charles's wife G Su is at a nursing home taking care of an elderly man and having a conversation with him besides her work at the nursing home Jesu also works at a restaurant to make some extra cash because she's been really busy with her jobs ji Su had to eat her dinner in the car when she returned home with her husband during the ride home dong chall tells his wife about the crab investment proposal however J Su quickly cautions her husband because they'd been tricked by fraudulent investments before meanwhile there's a group of tough guys and money lenders led by a guy named kite they are trying to forcefully open a door in an apartment once they manage to open the door they start hurting a man inside the apartment this man named Keem owes money to kit but can't pay it back K is even thinking about killing Keem to collect insurance money but just then keem's daughter suong arrives and is shocked to see K and his guys hurting her dad K takes an interest in sudon and decides to take her as a hostage instead of killing her father after that kit and his group leave taking suong with them as they're driving away K's car accidentally bumps into dong Cha's car from behind dong troll gets out of his car to check the damage K is in the back seat trying to hi the girl he kidnapped dong cha then approaches Kit's car and suggests they report the accident to the police but the driver do seek refuses and instead gives dong cha a business card and some money to avoid any trouble G Su who was in the passenger seat of dong Cha's car gets out and gets upset because she can't stand her husband being treated like that seeing this ke gets out of his car beats up the driver and makes him apologize to dong trol after that he drives away the next day dong troll goes to the merchant Union's office to ask for the money they owe him for his work chairman Kang reluctantly gives him some money but it's less than what he was promised after that dong trol and chunck go to a convenience store for lunch chunsik talks about his money problems and how the crab investment didn't work out at the same time dong troll gets a call from chairman Park who tells him that the boat carrying the crabs got caught by the Chinese authorities because it went through Chinese Waters without permission hearing this news dong chall and Chun shik feel even more overwhelmed by their financial problems ju Su is at a lawyer's office discussing her apartment rental issue with a lawyer the lawyer gives her some helpful advice meanwhile without G realizing he's guys are watching her from across the street near the lawyer's office in the evening J Su and Dong chol meet at a restaurant for dinner she tells him about her talk with the lawyer mentioning the possibility of divorce however dong doesn't want to discuss it instead he surprises her by revealing that he made a profitable investment in King camps he scolds J Su before leaving the restaurant briefly to prepare a surprise birthday cake for her J Su takes a taxi back home and feels guilty about the argument she texts her husband to hurry home upon receiving her message dong troll is happy and rushes home during his journey Heavy Rain forces dong troll to stop his car he's waiting for someone named lianju who is transferring some items to another car it turns out that lianju is one of K's henchmen intentionally delaying dong chall's trip home at the same time K's other henchmen sneak into jesu's apartment and kidnap her when dong chol arrives at his apartment he sees that his room is in a mess and his wife is nowhere to be found worried he starts searching for her the following day dong chol goes to the police station to report the incident they show him the CCTV footage from the apartment building strangely before the kidnapping happened someone had purposely damaged the cameras near his place as dong cha and chunck leave the police station they get a call from kite who threatens to harm ji Su if dong trol goes to the police again ke also mentions that he left a business card in dong Cha's fridge and wants him to come and meet him upon hearing this dong trol rushes back to his apartment with tunick following closely later on dong troll goes into a restaurant to meet K while Chun siik waits in the car dong CH waits for a long time and then he receives a call from keedy K openly proposes a terrible deal to dong chall offering money in exchange for dong chall selling his own wife to him feeling disappointed and disgusted by K's offer dong trol and chunsik decide to take the money to the police station and Report kit the police start investigating and suspect that g Sue might be a victim of human trafficking the next day determined to find his wife dong chol goes back to the police station to ask about the progress of J su's case unfortunately the police officer doesn't have much information to share as there are no leads in his wife's case while at the police station dong cha notices posters about other missing women who are also suspected victims of human trafficking frustrated with the slow progress of the police investigation dong decides to take matters into his own hands he goes to the merchant Union's office to ask for the money they owe him which he intends to use as funds for his own investigation however at the merchant Union's office chairman K kicks dong chol out an angry dong chall ends up getting into a private detective named beay after chunsik explains their situation beay believes that the case involving dong Cha's wife is not a simple kidnapping but a case of human trafficking he mentions that many people have approached him in the past to handle human trafficking cases dong troll is frustrated that he didn't receive any help and he's about to leave however chunck convinces him that they should hire detective bear because he's really good at his job with the money tunick provided detective bear starts his work he begins by checking the CCTV footage to find out who the owner of the car which had the money filled back in the restaurant is they eventually find out that the car car belongs to a man named Choy munik they go to Choy mun's house and question him after some pring munik admits that he sold his car license number to a bookie because he had a gambling addiction and used to gamble at the bookie's place next they went to the gambling spot that msik had mentioned at the gambling place dong chall and his Pals asked to see the owner but because they're asking a lot of questions about someone the casino owner becomes suspicious and thinks they might be detectives she calls her men to attack them luckily dong trol manages to defeat them one by one and this forces the gambling place owner to finally give him the information he's looking for later in the evening dong trol goes to a nightclub based on the business card given to him by the woman who runs the gambling establishment however the business card is outdated and the nightclub now has a different owner while heading home dong chall notices a man escorting a attractive women out of a car once they go inside a nightclub dong trol becomes curious about the car and takes a peek through the window he spots a business card in the car that looks very similar to the one he found in his apartment fridge dong CH remembers that the man's face resembles the person who delayed his trip when he was returning home when liju returns to his car dong trol approaches him and asks him to come out of the car lanju figures out that dong troll is in in quiring about Kit and quickly makes a run for it dongol tries to stop him by breaking the car window but lianju ultimately manages to escape shortly after dong troll gets a call from the police station telling him they discovered a woman's body who looks somewhat like ji Su dong chall hurries to the police station and looks at the photos shown by the detective he confirms that the woman in the pictures is not jiu meanwhile another detective uses a computer to check and says that the body they found belongs to Lee yunjong a woman who had been reported missing 2 years ago a few days later dong trall and Chun shik meet with bear at a cafe based on Bear's investigation they find out that Lee Yun jong's husband Choy junan turned himself in after his wife's body was discovered he confessed because he felt guilty for selling his wife to ke's gang at Lee Yun jong's funeral dong trol and chunck talk to Troy junan afterward Choy junan gives dong cha a note that might be a clue to help him find his wife while dong cha and Chun Shake are in their car examing Troy Jan's notes something unexpected happens suddenly Troy junan falls from the top of a building and dies instantly soon after dong troll goes to the money lender's office using the business card he found in Choy Jan's records he realizes it's the same card he got from the driver who crashed into his car dong cha then takes du seek the driver out of his place and brings him to detective Bear's location for questioning meanwhile ke notices dong CH taking du seek away from the view of the CCTV camera keade makes a video call to dong cha and shows him ji Su who is tied up and in a bad condition he tells dong cha that he needs to kill DUI if he wants jiu to survive seeing jiu suffering cha strangles duek until he becomes unconscious after duek appears to be dead he tells dong chall that he'll release jiu if he returns the money after the call ends dong cha revives duek who had only passed out and asks him for more information Don Cole comes up with a plan to steal Kit's money at the police station when they get to the police station beay and tunick pretend to be prosecutors but things don't go smoothly as The Police become suspicious of them them and even Point their guns at them realizing that their disguises are blown dong cha takes action by blowing up a police detective's car to create a distraction in the end they managed to escape with the money in another place there are several women who have been kidnapped and are being held against their will by ke and his gang K gets really angry with liju and beats him with a baseball bat for harassing one of the women who tried to escape shortly after K receives a message from dongol that they successfully retrieved the money upon hearing this he invites dongol to meet him at his hiding place after ending the call K instructs his men to kill dongol once he gets the money back at the same time it seems that dongol has informed the police about the location of his meeting with kit while J Su and her friend are stuck in a rundown building they try to escape through a window unfortunately only J Su manages to get away because lianju catches her friend due to the noise in the room where they were held ju Su who successfully escapes stops a passing taxi and asks the driver to take her to the police station when they're almost there the taxi gets stuck in traffic so Jesu decides to get out and run to the police station however at a Crossroads a car stops and kit steps out to capture her when dongol arrives at the meeting spot he fights and defeats Kit's men linu who's inside a room hears the noise outside and goes to check but ends up getting beaten by doncha meanwhile beay and tunick rescue the kidnapped women who are going to be moved to another hiding place shortly after the police show up and arrest the kidnappers on the other hand dong CH searches for his wife thinking she may have escaped when she saw the damaged window bars on his way back home dong Cha's car collides with K's car which is carrying jiu K realizes its dong ch's car in front and tells his driver to speed up dong cha chases after Kit's car to stop him but they end up crashing again causing dong Cha's car to roll down a hill kit then grabs an Axe and goes toward dong Cha's car to harm him seizing an opportunity dong troll pulls kit into his car beats him severely and throws him out desperate kit pretends to apologize and admit his mistake but suddenly he attacks dong Chaw with a knife but dong trol manages to defend himself and knocks K unconscious again dong trol then goes to K's car to rescue his wife shortly after an ambulance and the police arrived at the scene the kidnapping of the women became a big news story on all the national TV channels and a topic of discussion everywhere additionally a TV program reported that the ship carrying the crabs had been released by the Chinese authorities and was on its way to South Korea in the closing scene of the movie dong chall and jiu are seen visiting chunck and Bear's Restaurant which specializes in crab dishes there they celebrate jesu's birthday by enjoying crab dishes together with their best friends so the moral of the story is when life serves you a plate of fishy deals and crabby troubles don't flip out and become the Seafood detective instead keep your cool rely on your friends and you might just net a happy ending no
