into the video background the daughter of irene belcerion and the general of a foreign country urza was conceived 400 years ago prior to the dragon king festival but was kept from growing in irene's room by magical means she remains unborn during irene's 700-year long physical stint as a dragon and was finally born after her mother who regained her human shape courtesy of xerath tried to become a true human again by enchanting herself onto her unborn child when this failed irene considered urza to be worthless and discarded her in the back alleys of rosemary village erza remained in the village and grew up there alongside kagura and shimon when rosemary village was attacked by zera following cult ereza managed to save kagura from capture by hiding her inside a crate but god caught herself as a result she was enslaved by the cult and forced to build the tower of heaven a structure developed for the purpose of resurrecting the dark mage xerath she was imprisoned together with several other slaves most of them being children among these children were jalal fernandez joe simone wally buchanan and miliana while they were asking each other for their names she said that her name was just erza so jalal decided to give her the surname scarlet after her scarlet hair so they would never forget it despite the harsh conditions of her enslavement and labor erza became close friends with the other children she also formed a strong bond with rob an elderly mage from the fairy tale guild who taught her about magic and his guild one day in 776 sho came up with a plan for the 11 year old erza and all their friends to escape from the tower they were unfortunately caught by the guards who decided to send the escape's mastermind to the tower's disciplinary chamber while the rest would be deprived of food for three days seeing how fearful sho was erza prepared to take the blame herself but jalal announced himself as the mastermind instead however the guards reasoned that erza was the one responsible and sent her to the disciplinary chamber where she was tortured to the brink of death and lost her right eye jalal rescued her but was captured soon after finally fed up with their torment there's a stage a revolt against their captors so they could escape and save jalal the revolt appeared to be successful at its inception until the tower's mages arrived to repress the slaves causing most of the other slaves to retreat during the attack erza watched in horror as her friend shimon's lower jaw was blasted off by a magical attack while robb sacrificed himself to defend erza from another mage's attack in her rage erza's latent magic power was activated for the first time and she used it to turn all of the discarded weapons and tools around her against the guards finishing the revolt as the other slaves boarded ships meant to ensure their freedom she reunited with jalal but discovered that he had changed the kind and compassionate boy she knew him to be was suddenly twisted and violent using magic to slaughter the defenseless guards around them jalal had been possessed by what he claims to be the spirit of xerath and decided that the only way for them to attain true freedom was to complete the tower of heaven and revive xerath ereza refused to help him prompting jalal to cast her out of the tower by herself only letting her live because she helped take care of all the guards who would have opposed him before letting her escape jalal told erza to keep the tower of heaven a secret from the government as well as to never return to the tower threatening to destroy the tower and kill everyone in it including their friends if she disobeyed after washing up on the shores of fiore erza made her way too and joined the fairytale guild she habitually began to wear armor and acted distant from the other members after grey who tried picking fights with the reclusive heirzah saw her crying by herself and questioned why she began to open up to her guildmates more around this time fairy tale's master makarov brought heirzeth to see poorly yusuka who gave her an artificial eye to replace the one she lost with her eye healed ayers shed tears of joy which only came out of her real left eye though erza didn't mind as she said she had already shed half of her tears when mira jane first joined the guild erza tried to welcome the girl and commented that she had heard about her strength however the takeover mage left the building without speaking a word as the years passed aerza became more and more strict until she could be called the guild's disciplinarian she took responsibility for breaking up fights between grey and natsu in the year 780 erza passed fairytale's annually held s-class mage promotion trial becoming the youngest member of the guild to do so at 15 years of age eisenwaldark while returning home from a mission to slay a colossal horned monster bringing its horn decorated and given to her by the locals as a souvenir ayers stops at a pub where she overhears a group of mages discussing a sealed magic called lullaby which one of the members kagayama claiming he will be able to break the seal she doesn't give them much thought until she hears kagayama mention erigor the death god and ace of the dark guild eisenwald too late to act against them in time she decides to enlist natsu and grey to help her fight eisenwald and discover what the lullaby is as well as what they intend to do with the spell she returns to the guild with the intention of discussing the matter with makarov only to learn that he's away at a meeting with the other guild masters in the country after ritualistically berating her guild mates for the poor conduct she tells not to in gray to accompany her on her mission shocking the entire guild with the idea that she has just formed the strongest team in the history of fairy tale they're joined by lucy the guild's newest recruit who's requested by mira jane to keep natsu and gray from bickering behind airs back before sending out the next date natsu challenges ariza to fight him after they return which she accepts ereza discusses her mission with lucy and gray of her mission on the train ride to onibas natsu however is left in the dark since heirzen knocks him unconsciously eases motion sickness they're so caught up with their discussion that they accidentally leave nantu on the train prompting erza to temporarily stop the train via emergency stop signal and chase after him on a borrowed magic four-wheeled car upon retrieving natsu he says that he briefly fought with kagiyama who had escaped prompting ariza to berate him for not stopping him and paying attention to their discussion natsu further explains that the mage was holding a skull-shaped flute which lucy recognizes as the lullaby a mass murder curse that kills anyone who listens to its music desperate to stop aragor from playing the lullaby heirs and the others rush for the nearby town of oshibana where they find eisenwald waiting for them inside the local train station before escaping with the lullaby erigor claims to use the lullaby to kill everyone in the city heirs sends natsu and grey to chase after him while she fights against the members of eisenwald easily taking them all out at once having used up much of her magic power in the fight and on the magic four-wheeled car she goes outside to evacuate the citizens gathered around the station however erigory appears and casts a wind wall around the station trapping airs inside she interrogates the defeated eisenwald members in the station and realizes that eisenwald's true target is clover town where makarov and the other guildmasters have gathered remembering kagayama's power to dispel magic she and grey find kagiyama after he's defeated by natsu and demands that he lift the wind wall but he's stabbed in the back by fellow eisenwald member karaka to keep him quiet fortunately lucy acquires the key for the celestial spirit virgo from happy allowing the team to borrow beneath the wind wall and escape before doing so natsu brings kagiyama not wanting him to die natsu sets out to fight erigor with erza and the others chase after him on another magic four-wheeler with kageyama in tow by the time they catch up they find that nattu has successfully defeated erigor however kagayama steals the lullaby and hijacks the vehicle setting off for clovertown to kill the guild masters himself erza and the others chase after him but by the time they find him at the masters meeting hall they witness makarov persuading kagiyama to stop his plan suddenly the lullaby comes to life and unveils the demon that was sealed inside the flute together with natsu and grey aerza battles and destroys the demon reverting the lullaby into an ordinary flute but destroying the entire meeting hall in the process shortly after returning to the guild erza keeps her promise to fight natsu holding their battle in front of the fairy tale guild hall before the match can be concluded however a messenger appears and arrests erza on behalf of the magic council for the damages caused during the battle against eisenwald as she's escorted to her trial she encounters the council member seagrain who reveals that the council is using her as a scapegoat to display their authority seagrain once again reminds erza to keep the tower of heaven a secret from the council before leaving to oversee the trial during the trial natsu barges into the courtroom while dressed as erza and tries to pass himself off as her in an attempt to save her not realizing that the trial is a formality and she wouldn't be punished as a result the two are imprisoned together for the night although angry that natsu's rampage had ruined her chance to return home for the day she warmly admits that his gesture did make her happy sub-zero emperor leonarc after returning to fairy tale erza is challenged by natsu but quickly hits him with her sword knocking him out the guild members besides makarov then all fall asleep when mragon walks in to take a job waking up soon after he leaves after natsu lucy and grace steal a s-class job and go to galuna island erza goes after them to stop them and return them to fairy tale she hijacks a pirate ship to go to the island erza arrives and saves lucy from sherry blendy and detains lucy and happy for their breaking of the guild's rules the next day gray walks into one of the galuna islanders tents to find heiresses sitting with the tied up lucy and happy erza tells grade to leave the island since they broke the rule of taking an s-class job gray refuses and tells aerza to do whatever she wants but it won't stop him shocked that someone actually stood up to her airza has a slight change of heart and decides to punish them after they finish the mission heirze slices toby to stop the moon drip from releasing deliora but doesn't make it in time however deliora is found to have already died erza interrupts their victory by reminding everyone their mission hasn't been complete as they haven't saved the villagers from the curse once back at the village erza is the one who figures out the secret of the villagers and uses her giant armor to throw a spear to the moon with the help of a very motivated natsu with this they destroy a layer created by the moon drip revealing that all the villages were originally monsters who were able to turn to humans and not the other way around and that the moon drip layer was simply causing their confusion she then leads the team off the island only taking the celestial spirit key as a reward and not the money she then reminds natsu and company that despite finishing the mission they are all going to get punished once everyone returns to magnolia they're surprised to find the guild completely trashed phantom lord arc erza and the others returned from galuna island only to find that the guild has been attacked by phantom lord later airza goes to lose his apartment with team natsu and explains the power of phantom lord and that they have a dragon slayer as well shortly after shadow gear is attacked as well leading to a guild war between fairy tale and phantom lord fairy tale assaults phantom lords guild but after the sucker punch defeat of makarov by arya ayersa demands the guild to retreat as ereza takes a shower blaming herself for makarov's defeat the walking guild of phantomlord attacks fairytale with its magical convergent cannon jupiter airs stops the first shot with her adamantine armor but loses consciousness later erza reappears when natsu is being beaten by arya erza angered by what he did to the master is able to quickly defeat him as she collapses she implores natsu to protect lucy and the guild from jose and gagiel as his power will one day surpass even hers gray and elfman find erza but before they can aid her jose himself appears before them he quickly defeats elfman and gray after ariza fights him briefly jose remembers how erza took the jupiter cannon head-on and asks her how she was able to do it erza replies her love for her friends makes her who she is aka nakama power jose laughs and finds arista to be a person worth killing after natsu beats gagil she reminds jose that he lost the war because he didn't calculate natsu's destructiveness into his plans heirzed then berates jose's reasons for attacking fairy tale and defends lucy jose soon defeats ariza but is saved by a recovered makarov who finally finishes jose with fairy law as she helps to rebuild the guild arza follows grey and natsu to lucy's apartment only to find her not home they all read lucy's letters and find a note from her claiming she's going back to her home after erza natsu grey and happy arrive at the heartfelia concern they see lucy who just came back from telling her father she will never stay and to leave fairy tale alone team natsu all share laugh and afterwards everyone's impressed by how much land lucy's dad owns loki arc ayers is sent to help a theater in trouble it's here she reveals her love for the theater and the dramatic arts she signs the others up in a play to help the owner recover from his tragedy wherein most of his actors and actresses had quit heirs spends a long time and effort practicing for her role as the prince during the play erza gets stage fright and forgets most of her lines when it comes to performing her part to which in some moments she improvises to fill up sentences in her dialogue later though she gets too deep into her character as she cuts lucy's clothes up on stage the team ends up destroying the theater due to their recklessness but still get a standing ovation successfully making ravion's play entertaining team natsu finishes up a job and runs into loki shortly after after lucy thanks him for finding her keys he quickly runs off though when loki's missing from the guild the next day ariza searches for him with natsu tower of heaven arc erza is one of the members invited by loki to go with team natsu to an expensive resort at the beach erza has a quick flashback of her slave life at the tower of heaven when she wakes up from the daydream lucy invites her to go to the resort's casino while at the casino lucy and erza are playing cards when one of air's childhood friends cho steps in to rotate the dealer position suddenly the casino lights turn off due to shimon spell then comes back on with show behind irza telling her that he can use magic as well and demonstrates this by trapping everyone in the casino inside playing cards another friend of erza miliana appears from behind lucy and ties her up using magic ropes feeling insulted cho tells erza that they were her friends once too until she betrayed them the group tells ariza that they're here to take her back home erza pleading for wally to stop gets shot in the back by wally's tranquilizer shot before their departure wally gives miliana a sleeping happy as a gift show is excited to reveal that ereza will be returning to the tower of heaven where jalal is waiting areza later wakes up in a ship on the way to the tower bound by miliana's neko sokutube sho then appears and yells at her for betraying jalal ayrze then has another short flashback revealing her imprisonment with jalal and the rest of her old friends as erza arrives at the tower she's thrown into prison showa tells her she will stay there until the ceremony starts tomorrow he then tells her that she'll be the sacrifice for paradise ereza tells show not to use the r system to resurrect the black mage xerath because of the consequences it will bring to the magic world ayersa then brings shot to his knees by kicking him in the face and then sets out to search for jalal erza fights her way through some guards asking where jalal is and eventually comes across natsu and ko who has also teamed up with juvia luxer although she's surprised to see them she tells them to go back natsu refuses one reason being because miliana has happy erza apologizes saying that she'll lose this fight no matter what erza then tells them about the tower of heaven and about her past after sharing her past erza tells gray lucy and julia that she's destined to fight jalal meanwhile jalal's thought projection seagrain is gathering votes at the magic council to destroy the tower of heaven with the ethereon back of the tower erza tells the others that zarath was the strongest dark mage ever he created horrible and destructive monsters lucy points out that the lullaby was one of zara's monsters airsa also thinks that deleora was one too lucy then asks why erza is considered a traitor to her old friends heirzed doesn't know why but suspects jalal made something up shou then appears hearing what actually happened eight years ago and cannot believe that jalal was tricking them all this time simon then appears revealing that he knew all along that jalal was dying they all decide to work together to stop jalal everybody follows shimon in an attempt to look for natsu and stop ariza's other friends from attacking the company learns that they can't escape because they need to defeat jalal and the assassins of death heads caucuses trinity raven before jalal activates the tower that will cause the council to release the ethereon which will destroy the tower and them along with it after hearing what will happen cho traps aerza in one of his cards and runs off with her erza and cho run into a karuga ikaruga claims that she can slice anything even separate dimensions like sho's cards with this she quickly defeats him hikaru starts attacking erza who's still inside show's card after a few more slices erza breaks out of it all of a sudden airs armor is cut into pieces showing that she didn't dodge all of ikaruga's attacks successfully she then re-equips her heaven's wheel armor the two girls attack each other head-on heirzah re-equips several armors but all of them easily break by ikaruga's sword aerza then gets up and re-equips a sarashi with a flame pattern bottom hakama erza explains that there's nothing special about her armor all her life she had locked her heart away in a suit of armor and that had made her weak and afraid now that she wears none she believes she can defeat ikaruga the two ladies charge towards each other their swords clashing for the final time although erza gets slashed ayers's slash to akariga is able to defeat her erza tells show to get everybody else out of the tower airza makes it to part of the tower where jalal is jalal claims the game is over and erza asks if playing with people's lives are fun she thinks jalal is bluffing about the aetherium falling but he claims that he's not and that either way she will be a sacrifice for zerath the two battle and erza eventually pins jalal to the ground with her sword at his neck she then tells jalal he failed at completing the r system because the tower has no magic to resurrect there needs to be way more in order for the tower to activate trying to make her give up he explains how his body was possessed by zerath and how he's nothing more than a doll doing his bidding he says he knew he couldn't finish the r system but xerif wouldn't stop him he asks ariza to strike him down she refuses and hugs jalal as the ethereon hits the tower completely destroying the outer structure of the tower surprised that she's alive after the blast she looks around and notices there's lacrima everywhere and that the structure is an absorption crystal jalal explains that the council's ethereum provided the tower with enough power to bring xerif back just then seagrain shows up and reveals that he and jalal are the same person and that he became a council member just to cast the ethereum down on the tower they both revealed that they're the same person and that sea grain was just a thought projection now that the two have morphed back together jalal's full magic power returns a bind snake jalal cast earlier stops ariza from moving before putting her in the lacrima to be the sacrifice for seraph natsu arrives to pull ariza out ereza tells natsu to leave and not fight jalal because she's afraid of the consequences that will happen to him natsu then punches her causing her to faint while mentioning he'll win this fight enraged by how much jalal has hurt erza natsu flares up and goes to fight jalal erza then wakes up to natsu being blasted by jalal's meteor attacks natsu starts destroying the tower so the resurrection can't occur jalal prepares another attack on natsu but erza gets in front hoping that he won't attack her he still prepares to launch it claiming that it doesn't matter who the sacrifice is now that there's so much damage he launches his attack opening her eyes airs sees that shimon is in front of her and that he used his body as a shield to protect her he falls to the ground confesses his love for erza and then dies ereza screams in anguish as natsu continues his battle with jalal by eating the ethereon natsu manages to defeat jalal but the tower becomes unstable and is ready to blow up which will kill anyone near it back in the tower ereza carries natsu on her back she shortly realizes that she needs to be the sacrifice to control the magic power and stop the explosion she then puts her body halfway in the crystal only for natsu to wake up and ask her what she's doing she tells him she can't imagine a world without her friends and if she dies saving everybody then she has no regrets she then offers her body to the r system so that she can control it she blanks out completely erza wakes up in a dress wondering where she is everything is white around her the scene turns to her funeral erza realizes that she's dead and that nobody is happy natsu doesn't believe ereza is dead and refuses to accept it causing a ruckus at the funeral as everybody cries erza realizes that she made a mistake she then wakes up realizing it was a dream all of her friends run towards her and natsu carries her towards them he lays her in the water to which erza is amazed that he was able to not only find but also take her out of the vortex alive natsu in tears tells ariza not to sacrifice herself ever again ariza promises to him to do so and she comes to the realization that she doesn't need to die for her friends but to live for them because that is the only way to bring the best future for the first time since eight years ago she cries tears of joy out of both eyes wally miliana and cho apologized to erza saying that they didn't want to hurt her heirs suggests they come to fairy tale later lucy asks where shaw and the others went ayersa dashes out to go look for them she then realizes that her former comrades decided to leave ayers aside saying that they've caused too much pain for her erza then prepares for them the official fairy tales farewell ceremony after a few promises she recites the rules when leaving fairy tale and cries goodbye to them hoping to see them again someday after that natsu lucy gray and erza throw a farewell bash wishing show miliana and wally well as they depart finally free and living their own lives battle of fairy tale arc erza comes back to the guild to see it rebuilt and in great condition but her happiness is interrupted when she finds that gazil redfox has joined fairy tale she voices her concerns with makarov but as he gives her his confidence she petitions to have gazillion watch later when a reporter from sorcerer magazine comes to fairy tale to interview the members she wears a modified version of her heart cruise armor she surprises everyone when she expresses her desire to be interviewed during the festival ereza competes for the title of miss fairy tale changing into a beautiful dress that lucy recognizes as goth lolita style in front of everyone and states that victory is hers however she's turned to stone along with all the other miss fairy tale contestants by evergreen not too and gazillion will try to turn her back to normal with nattu's flame thinking that it would release her from the stone she does get revived but due to her artificial eye having the effect of evergreen's magic she soon realizes that even misogon has arrived to fight laxus draer in order to help save the guild she then goes to town to find lexus but encounters evergreen instead she threatens evergreen to release the other girls but evergreen is more interested in claiming the title for herself instead after fighting her for some time erza pins her against a wall evergreen reveals to her she'll kill the girls if erza doesn't strip to degrade herself ayersa responds by changing into her heaven's wheel armor and threatens to kill evergreen herself if she doesn't revive the girls and thus evergreen concedes and the girls are released after her fight with evergreen both erza and natsu find lexus and mystagon already fighting in the cathedral when erza witnesses the true face of mystagon it turns out to resemble jalal's completely not knowing it wasn't jalal her eyes begin to shed tears and she becomes emotionally unstable for a moment mrigan claims he's not jalal but he knows who he is and then quickly disappears leaving laxus to ayers and natsu she recovers from the surprise though and prepares to attack lexus with her lightning empress armor but later decides to trust natsu to stop lexus and goes to destroy the thunder palace instead to protect everyone in magnolia with the help of warren rocco she communicates with all her comrades and they help her to destroy the thunder palace's lacrimas in the end she manages to take out 200 lacrimas which are the majority of them after laxus is defeated the harvest festival continues with the fantasia parade ereza performs her swords on her float not knowing mragon watches her when laxus leaves the guild erza and the rest of the guild puts up the sign he and makarov made up meaning they will always be watching over them horacion seisark erza begins to try and find out about misagon however she realizes makarov knows nothing about him stumped aerza wanders about missigon's relationship to jalal and why they both have the same exact face later erza and her team begin to go on a mission to hunt a mage hunter but she becomes surprised when she hears lucy went off to a caulifla and took out the naked mummy guild by herself later makarov reveals that an alliance of guilds has been made in order to take down one of the dark guilds part of the balaam alliance thoracion seis and that fairy tale is part of it team natsu is chosen as fairy tales representatives they meet up with a blue pegasus guild delegates the trimens that are none other than hibiki lates yves tier renikotsky and to ayers's horror ichika vendelay kotabuki they also meet the delegates of lamya's scale guild leon vastia and sherry blendy as well as the delegates of kate shelter wendy marvel and carla as all the delegates get together erza follows natsu and gray as they run to find oracion seis as the horacion says finds them ayersa battles cobra in her flight armor however she's bitten by his snake and she suffers from the extreme poison as lucy gives ariza her belt a strap on her arm she begs for someone to cut her poisoned arm off leon steps forward to do this but this is denied by her fellow fairy tale members and an argument erupts however carla explains to them that wendy who was kidnapped by brain can help her as her magic allows her to heal the injured as the others leave to rescue wendy lucy and hibiki late stay behind to take care of her after natsu arrives with wendy she treats erza and removes the poison when the others notice a pillar of black light in the sky natsu knows jalal is there and rushes forward in the ensuing confusion aeris slips away intending to find jalal as well because the others are impeded in fights against the oracion seis erza manages to reach del al first although she's unsure of how to act towards him to her surprise she discovers that he's become amnesiac and is only able to remember her name as erza explains who he is and what he did to his comrades jalal breaks down in tears upon learning what kind of person he is suddenly cobra appears and attempts to take nirvana but jalal reveals that he put a square of self-destruction around nirvana to destroy it however he also put the spell on himself so he can end his life and free airs from the pain he has caused her she doesn't take this too kindly and runs up to him grabs him and demands that he cancel the spell and live moments later brain appears revealing that he taught jalal the square of self-destruction and easily cancels it before activating the second stage of nirvana erza and jalal are caught in nirvana's skyward eruption as she holds onto jalal with one hand she pulls him up saying that he should live on to see the future as fairy tale members do with their connection of hope later midnight appears before her and quickly defeats jalal revealing his reflector magic to her she tries her best to fight him but all her attacks are reflected and her armor becomes reflected to confine her as midnight tortures jalal with the truth of his deeds ereza reassures jalal that she believes they're still good in him and requips to her robe of yuen reading herself for round two against midnight erza reveals all three of midnight's weaknesses which are not being able to reflect two things at once her not being able to work on humans and airs his current armor being made out of rubber midnight says that at midnight his refracting gets to his peak as he transforms into a giant monster he creates a giant explosion and stabbed jalal and urza he's then successfully slashed and defeated by irza as she reveals his transformation was all just an illusion afterwards she manages to get into contact with the others through hibiki's telepathy only to learn that nirvana is controlled by six different lacrima crystals after the discussion and planning hibiki implants a map to guide them towards location of each lacrima crystal erza says that she'll handle lacrima number five when jalal is about to say he'll destroy the six lacrima she immediately interrupts him she whispers to him that natsu still doesn't know his relation towards the mission and might mistake him as an enemy when heirza finishes nattu answers that he seemed to have heard a familiar voice but hibiki's connection is then lost erza arrives in front of the fifth lakerma waiting for the appointed time to arrive and destroy it after natsu's victory over zero the rest of the mages including irza managed to destroy all six lacrima crystals destroying nirvana everyone rejoices as they're reunited erza says that she'll support jalal and he doesn't need to care about his memories at this moment they stare at each other only for the new magic council to interrupt and arrest hot eye and jalal for the past criminal acts as jalal willingly gives himself up to the council lahar warns him that this will probably be the last time he ever sees them again for he will either be given the death sentence or life imprisonment suddenly an anger natsu starts to fight against the council trying to bring jalal back this causes every other mage to fight for jalal as well except for erza who can only tremble in anger and watch the chaos erza decides to stop the commotion once and for all and lets the council take jalal away jalal looks back at her in relief but not before he mentions her scarlet hair implying that he remembers the time he chose her last name scarlett they say their final farewells and as jalal is taken away everyone looks on sadly ereza later sits alone crying for the loss of her friend as she remembers when she and jalal were together as kids and him choosing her last name telling her about his choice to pass the 100 year quest to another guild to which she agrees later the animus sucks up fairytale and all of magnolia into etolos including erza however godzilla releases her and gray from the lacrima with mysticon's help misagon then sends them to edelos with x-balls that allow earthland people to use magic freely in etylos when ayers and nightwalker is about to kill happy erza and gray bash some of the adolos guards and show up ready to attack and declare ayers and nightwalker to be an enemy of fairy tale seeing that her counterpart is about to strike grey airza quickly blocks her counterpart spear with her sword and the clash of their weapons realizing that her group can't proceed any further than they've already have with nightwalker hot on their tails scarlett orders her friends to carry on without her as the two airs his fight nightwalker explains her magic item the 10 commandments scarlett notices how her counterpart's magic is a lot like hers erza is successful in defeating her counterpart and takes on her guys as nightwalker afterwards erza still in disguise catches up with natsu and gray and captures them she drags them to the dragon chain cannon room commenting on how she can see eternal magic coming she then orders gray to activate the cannon aiming towards the island with the threat that she would kill natsu if he didn't comply right at the crucial moment however erza scarlett suddenly shouted natsu to fight before quickly holding her sword at faust's throat revealing her true identity to everyone else and that the entire plan to be a ruse she then tells the soldiers to move the coordinates to fire at the lacrimal or she will kill the king however the real heirs and nightwalker vaults over the wall of the control room and frees faust which leads to the release of canon on the lacrimal island just then an ally of theirs koko arrives on her legion helping them all escape they then set flight towards the lacrimal island to save magnolia she then helps everyone to push back the lacrima island enough for missigon to send the giant lacrima back to earthland ayrez's counterpart shoots panther lily declaring the battle isn't over yet when the dorma anim shows up natsu tells her that he along with gajil and wendy would take care of faust while she and her group should protect they exceeds however as they try to catch up nightwalker ambushes the legion that they're on while lucy gray and coco fall erza merely chains onto another legion and clashes with her counterpart once more with both of them declaring that there's only room for one erza and the other one must perish the second round starts off with each heirs of fighting ferociously as scarlet uses several different armors and nightwalker changes her spear's forms eventually ayersa comments on how they're both evenly matched but then nightwalker decides at that moment to use her trump card rebelt ayza then recruits into the armadura fairy armor as the two airs clash they create an explosion large enough to shatter the entire island and in the process airs armor is destroyed along with nightwalker's spear however even though they both have already run out of magic they have a fistfight while debating about whether it's wrong to extort magic from extalia ayersa finally manages to knock some sense into nightwalker telling her that they can still survive without magic and that it can be overcome she then tells nightwalker that they are the same and as erza herself has the same evil qualities and weaknesses in nightwalker nightwalker herself has the same compassionate heart as erza the falling island then crashes into the ground and both airs no longer have the strength to move nightwalker then admits defeat but ayersa denies this saying that there's no such thing seeing as they're the same person with the two heirs's pieces made the reverse anima begins to take scarlett back to earthland the two heirs as bid one final farewell after returning to earthland she's surprised to see the exceeds have arrived in earthland and after hearing about their story no one has grudges against them the exceeds decide to find all the eggs they sent to earthland and bid a final farewell to fairy tale however when the exceeds leave erza along with grey and natsu are surprised when panther lily drags out the captured lysanna however lysanna reveals that she was never dead but that she was merely transported to edolos by the anima and she's in fact the lysanna everyone knows erza alongside natsu and the others help nisana to return to her siblings tenro island arc back at fairy tale everybody's acting hyper again panther literally tells erza that it's comforting to see a familiar face like hers even though she's not the heirs that he knew later ayers is by makarov's side for the announcing of the s-class mage promotion trial gagial is not elected to participate as heirs claims it's too soon for the guild to trust him yet after the rules are explained it's revealed that ereza will be participating along with mira jade and gildarts their main role in the trial is to attempt to hinder the selected teams in some way after the participants get to tenryl island makarov tells them that there will be eight paths and of them seven will result in battles she waits in path d and battles both juvia and lassana despite the valiant fight erza easily manages to defeat them after the first part of the exam is over she along with juvia lysanna and mirjain all rest at the camp on the island she questions why mest and wendy aren't at the base which sends her and juvia out to look for them later erza and juvia both find and injured levy mcgarden erza with juvian levy go to help gagil to find he successfully beat kawazu and yomazu members of a dark guild grim warhart while they check up on godzilla's condition yomazu announces that the seventh kin of purgatory are coming the aces of grimoire heart erza immediately announces that the exam is now on hold and sends a warning flare to the rest of the guild members present on tenrou island erza goes over to yamazu and asks what their goals are he then reveals they're here for the black mage xerath he tells them that xerath lived 400 years ago and has since been in a slumbering state when the grimoire heart guild arrives on the island members surround juvia and erza and they prepare to fight them they easily defeat all the members in their immediate vicinity but are then confronted by merity ereza warns juvia not to underestimate her just because she's a kid saying that she can sense a strange magic from the girl in her battle with juvia against marity meredi uses mcgilty sodom which creates magic swords that are sent flying towards her and juvia the attack manages to pierce juvia's water body which causes erza to question what type of magic it is as the battle continues meridi goes on to explain her rankings for people to kill and says grave fullbuster is first since he's the reason altir's mother er was killed marity then sends more swords towards erza but juvia uses her water to surround and knock all of her blades away juvia then says she can't forgive mary now erzo with a nervous look remarks that juvia should calm down juvia proceeds to attack meredith with astonishing strength this shocks erza who notices that juvia's fighting is nothing like how she was during the exams she finally understands that juvia's true powers come out when she fights for a loved one nakama power juvia tells ariza that she will handle merity and that erza needs to find wendy in gray ariza departs leaving juvia to her as erza runs around looking for her guild mates azuma emerges upside down from a tree and provokes her into a fight after re-equipping a few more armors she and asma battle for a while longer asma comments that he and urza are the same as they both pursue strong opponents ereza however replies that she only needs the strength to protect her comrades asma smiles after hearing the statement and activates his lost magic great tree arc to uproot tenro island's tree which had the ability to protect and give strength to every fairy tale member azama then tells airza that her friends lives are on the line and to show him if she has enough power to protect them erza asks asma why she's the only one not affected by his damage to the 10 road tree he says he wants to fight her when she's serious to which hereza responds by claiming she will defeat him no matter what but makes asma promise if she beats him he'll return the guild's magic power erza and asma square off once more but she has great trouble gaining the upper hand she decides that she needs to put all her magic power into one attack without using any power for defense so she requests to just a sarashi and a single sword she goes all out using her crimson cherry technique but ozuma is easily able to ensnare erza before she gets to him and uses the terraclomera that sends aerza to the brink of defeat while erza is unconscious she hears jalal's voice telling her not to lose and she wakes up telling herself it's just her imagination and that she needs to focus on azuma she attacks him forcing him on the defense for a bit but once again he binds her arms and legs hitting her with his strongest attack once more as ereza falls to her defeat she hears natsu's voice asking her if she's going to give up and has other visions of her friends in the guild this gives her the resolve to get back up she apologizes to them mentioning that she wasn't protecting everyone but instead she was the one being protected as she comes towards azuma he's surprised that he's lost control of the tenro island magic and that it now protects erza he thinks to himself that their true strength is not in the individual but the sum of them nakama power and calls them an amazing guild and for those of you that don't know nakama means friends so i'm basically always saying it's the power of friendship anyway heirs the lands of finishing blow defeating asma after defeating azuma hereza falls to the ground battle worn and notices asma's body transforming into a tree he states that it's a side effect of overusing his lost magic he then tells her that as promised he would return everyone's magic power to them she then asks him if he knew a man named jalal asma states that he does and explains that jalal is a sad man who's become obsessed with the idea that zeref's ghost exists and that he's lost all sense of reason erza then asks him why they are after seraph azuma states that it's to get closer to the very first magic in the world as it would lead to what jalal called paradise asma tries to explain further but is completely transformed into trees heirs soon meets up with gray natsu wendy lucy panther lily happy and carla and they all head towards the gremore heart airship to fight hades the final enemy on the island before going on the ship nathu tells the exceeds to search for the ship's power source and destroy it in order to prevent it from taking off after wendy casts troya anatsu as a precautionary measure the group heads inside the airship aerza reminds the group that hades is a powerful mage and that to use their full power from the start all the mages fight to the best of their ability and send hades crashing into one of the walls he emerges unharmed though and claims he's ready to get serious he screams out katsu and wendy disappears a voice is heard above all of them as it's revealed that horologium saved her at the last second by forcing his gate open commenting that since the danger was higher than normal he came out to help horlogium's time is spent so he releases a newly clothed wendy and tells the group to be more careful before disappearing everyone prepares to attack again hades mocks the current fairy tale and tells his opponents he was the second master of fairy tale a disbelieving nazi charges but hades attacks him as well as everyone else leaving them all on the ground as team natsu lay defeated haiti starts to belittle makarov but natsu defends him prompting hades to brutally beat up natsu while erza and the others watch in horror just when hades is about to finish natsu off laxus appears and headbutts the former master after laxus fails at beating hades and gives his magic power to natsu erza remarks how the situation is similar to when natsu ate the ethereon after natu attacks hades with his lightning flame attacks erza is shocked to see hades is still okay hades then removes his eye patch and shows the group the abyss of magic which transforms hades and increases his magic power drastically after displaying his living magic spells natsu tells the group to use the fear they're experiencing to become stronger with that everyone helps launch natsu at hades even though none of them have magic power left nacho and hades final collision ends with the ship exploding natsu prevails punching hades in the face hades doesn't know how he lost until he feels that his heart has been destroyed somewhere on the ship he reveals that his heart was the only thing that let him use all of his magic wendy shows erza gray and lucy that the 10 row trees back up which was thanks to ultier's arc of time everyone then attacks hades with natsu landing the final blow to defeat him after their success the rest of the injured fairy tale members show up and scare off the remaining grimoire heart members afterwards all the guild members head back to camp and rejoice in their victory the arrest however is cut short when acnologia arrives and attacks the guild members ereza watches as makarov holds the beast off and tells his guild members that his final order is for them to escape however she along with the rest of fairy tale comes back and attempts to fight acnelogia their attack amounts to nothing and all the fairytale members hold hands in an attempt to negate the attack as the island is destroyed by the dragon's dragon roar they fail and tenroi island is destroyed x-791 arc heirza along with the rest of team tenro are rescued by bisca alzak jet troy max warren and the trimens from blue pegasus she watches as mavis vermillion reveals that she was the one who saved them and then disappears she returned to the fairytale guild and along with natsu gazil and gray defeats the members of twilight ogre who were threatening romeo later being welcomed back by him and the older fairytale members erza joins their welcome back party and is surprised to hear that bisca and alzak have gotten married and have a child erza is later confronted by the couple again in magnolia town and they reveal startling information about jalal to her later erza along with mira jane accompanies makarov to the twilight ogre guild to pay them back everything they owe she dons her purgatory armor and she along with makarov and mira jain proceed to fight the entire guild grand magic games arc erza and the other members of fairy tale go to the beach to train for the grand magic games on the second day of training airs and company are interrupted by virgo who tells everyone the celestial spirit world is in great danger and requires everyone's help they're sent to the spirit world where they find out that there's no trouble but all of lucy's spirits had planned a party to celebrate everyone's return after a day is celebrating virgo informs the gang that time runs different in the spirit world than in earthland thus they have lost almost the whole three months of training in the one day once they realize this airs and the others become depressed until the group is contacted by jalal ultier and mariti after a brief reunion ultier decides to increase fairytale's magic power by unlocking the second origin with her improved arc of time erza and jalal go off to talk privately and she asks him if all of his memories have returned with him confirming that they have he tells her he's prepared to die if she wants to seek revenge for him killing their french simone however ereza says she won't because simone wouldn't have wanted that when he says that he thinks death is the only way to truly redeem his sins ereza slaps him and pulls on his collar accidentally causing the two of them to fall off the rocky ledge they were sitting on and into a large flower field with jalal landing on top of her while on top of her jalallan airs a kiss however jalal pushes her away and tells her that he can't because he has a fiance when jalal ultier and meredi later take their leave heiress sees them off she smiles and remarks to herself that jalal's a clumsy liar referring to the fact that she knew he lied about having a fiance but accepts his decision on the relationship later erza along with natsu lucy gray wendy happy and carla arrive in fiore's capital crocus after a brief meeting with the rest of the guild members that have arrived erza goes to the room provided for them to see if something is amiss later when natsu grey lucy and happy return to the honeybone lodge ayers scolds them for their lateness but is interrupted when nissana and elfman walk in the meeting is interrupted however when it's announced that the preliminary for the grand magic games is about to begin they're informed that in order to be in the games they must be one of the first eight teams to go through the sky labyrinth airs and the others are worried because wendy is nowhere to be seen but elfman decides to take her place and they set off eventually by defeating other guilds and taking their maps to the sky labyrinth they arrive at domas flau but are informed that they are the last of the a-teams to make it ayres and the others change into their team outfits before they head out to hear which teams made it out of the labyrinth before them as the teams are introduced they learn that raventail has entered into the competition and are angry when they learn that they're the ones who injured wendy and carla she's also shocked to learn that there is a second team from fairy tale in the running consisting of gagial redfox mary jane strauss laxus dreyar juvia luxer and jalal fernandez disguised as misagon a few minutes later after they hear the rules for the first event of the games gray decides to enter for them in that round when gray loses the event and the crowd mocks him and fairy tale for it natsu comes to his defense but airs ayers stops natsu from acting rashly when the first battle of the day is chosen lucy vs flair corona erza encourages lucy to win after lucy's defeat by flair due to the outside help she received from a fellow raventail member jalal and jura eventually step up to fight jalal loses the match because ultier intervenes because he was about to give away his identity accidentally after the guild's terrible first day they go to a nearby bar and celebrate when a mage from airs pass bacchus enters the two talk briefly and he vows that they will settle their score for good when lucy asks ayersa who he is she replies that he's a mage that she fought constantly in the past but neither ever beat the other much to lucy natsu and grey's shock when the second day's battle begins ereza listens to and is moved by toby's greatest secret being subsequently angered to the point that she has to be held back when kurahebi rips toby's sock later she gives encouragement to elfman when he has to fight bacchus erza also watches mere jain and jenny's fight and comments on mirajane's satan's soul sitri after the second day ends airs and jalal meet under the bridge in crocus the two discuss the sudden disappearance of the strange magic that was at the tournament every year jalal decides to inspect the organizers directly now and starts to leave but not before erza tells him not to overdo it as erza walks back to her lodging she's approached by a member of mermaid hill who reveals herself to be miliana erza and miliana talk about her joining a guild and sho and wally who miliana's states are still traveling erza soon mentions kagura and compliments her on her strength she then asks about the woman's sword archenemy to which miliana explains that kagura will never unsheath it until she faces the man who destroyed her life jalal fernandez miliani declares her hatred for gelhaul as well for forcing her to remain a slave and for him killing simone under the assumption that erza feels the same way ayersa can only guiltily look away in response she's later seen gazing over crocus from a high position thinking about her recent conversation when grey joins her when gray asks her what's wrong she changes the subject to what's been happening with him recently after revealing that he escaped the whole mess with juvian leon erza encourages him to respond to juvia's feelings before turning back to go to bed at their lodgings on the third day of the grand magic games erza chooses herself to represent team fairy tale a for the day's events the event pandemonium consists of defeating monsters of different levels to earn points and progress it starts with a drawn participant choosing how many monsters they will fight erza is drawn to go first and decrees the end of the game by defeating all 100 monsters alone and unheard of feat after miliana wins her fight against semes ayza comments that she's improved and later looks at her worried when the third day's third battle is announced erza becomes shocked after knowing that laxus's opponent alexei is from ivan's guild as soon as the match begins laxus is completely overwhelmed something which shocks erza however a few minutes into the fight it's revealed that the match was fake and that alexei was really ivan drayaar and that lexus had defeated every member of team raventail heirzah comments on lucy's kindness when lucy says that laxus didn't have to hurt flare corona as bad as he did when the final battle of day three begins between her own teammate wendy and cheria blendi of team lamyscale erza is seen smiling in acknowledgment of wendy's heightened abilities after seeing the young girl cast shattering light sky drill at her opponent however when cherry later stands up seemingly unharmed by the attack aerza notes that cherry is quite the opponent as their match continues ayers is shocked at wendy's determination to keep fighting until the end of the match after wendy's and cherry's match ends in a tie erza talks about how impressive the match was after the third day of the grand magic games ends areza heads out to a bar with the rest fairy tale to celebrate lucy comments on her speedy recovery which erza puts down to poorly usuka's great healing skills despite natsu happy and grey being told off for barrel surfing through the bar erza is quick to set bad example by giving the game a shot as well flipping out at the end of her ride on the fourth day of the grand magic games erza cheers lucy on as the latter participates in the naval battle event when only lucy and team sabretooth's minerva are left airzen notes that minerva is able to create heat inside the water as minerva starts to torture lucy erza alongside gray and natsu stands shocked as minerva proudly proclaims sabertooth's superiority as her teammates smugly look upon the battle upon mavis's command ayersa goes forward soon confronted by rufus's falling star spell but due to mavis plan she easily avoids it and proceeds forward soon airs across his path with genu relight whom she quickly defeats gaining another point for fairy tale following mavis strategy erza searches for minerva while walking she hears a noise from behind her turning around she finds kagura lunging towards her she draws her sword out attempting to block kagura's attack as she's shocked by mavis prediction proving false as the battle continues minerva suddenly joins in shocking everyone ariza boldly proclaims that she will not hold back against any of her opponents later making a comment about minerva's own self-confidence afterwards the three women begin their battle throughout the event airs mostly strikes with her swords though she does manage to land a powerful kick upon kagura's left cheek after being pushed aside by minerva's magic arizon kagura are soon ensnared in minerva's magic where they're subsequently struck with a powerful spell that despite its flashiness and very destructive nature leaves the two mages with moderate injuries a pleasantly surprised minerva then reveals to have captured miliana sometime prior shocking and infuriating erza as erza continues to glare down minerva kagura moves to grab her sword threatening minerva with her life if she doesn't immediately release miliana this seems to merely amuse minerva further the sabertooth mage tempting kagura on in her threat as kagura charges hereza remarks on her speed only to suddenly find herself right in the range of kagura's attack minerva having used her magic to switch places with her in a last-second reflex erza throws up her sword and manages to block kagura's attack as minerva calmly walks away from them as she watches minerva teleport miliana away and promise to face the victor of her and kagura's fight erza angrily points out the sabertooth mage's shamelessness having interrupted their battle to merely pull such a stunt minerva though doesn't seem to care stating that she is merely acting as a king and doing anything necessary to win annoyed erza once again demands biliana's release only to be shocked when kagura suddenly attacks her screaming for her to stop pretending to be milliana's friend stunned ereza watches as minerva claims that the two have a lot to talk about and vanishes commenting to kagura that the sabertooth woman has gotten the better of them both kagura however turns her steely gaze onto erza vowing to defeat her and then minerva as the two resume combat kagura delivers the strike with her arch enemy so strong that ereza is blown away despite blocking it immediately re-equipping her heaven's wheel armor ereza tries to counter using pentagram's sword which kagura evades by jumping then switches to her strong form landing a clean blow on erza destroying the platform they're fighting at as a two fall aiza equips her adamantine armor but this proves to be ineffective as kagura cuts through it gravely wounding erzo with her slashing form with no time to waste ereza requips her flight armor performing sonic law to fight back but kagura's speed proves to be superior as she slashes her multiple times knocking her down as erza continues to be overpowered by kagura she expresses her surprise that there's someone like kagura and asks the latter if her strength comes from her hatred for jalal which earns ereza a kick from her opponent sending her through several pillars when erza asked kagura about what happened between her and jalal kagura tells her that she is the little sister of shimon someone who worked as a slave for jalal just to be then killed by him however erza corrects kagura saying that simon died because of her weakness making her the real murderer kagura is pushed over the edge finally unsheathing her arch enemy and delivering a strike however erza blocks the sword with her own and apologizes to kagura claiming that dying would be disrespectful to shimon and her comrades the two fight and erza says it's fine if her hatred is the source of her strength stating she has no intentions of trampling on her feelings but neither will acquiesce with them before overpowering kagura with a fast strike rubble begins to fall over kagura but erza pushes her out of harm's way with her right foot getting stuck the two then recognize each other from their time at rosemary village when erza had saved kagura with the latter crying at the realization of who erza is eventually kagura removes the rubble from erza saying she needs time to process all the information and tries to admit defeat but is stabbed by minerva who sadistically reminds erza her speech about kings while bursting into an evil laughter while heirs is scowling at minerva for her cruelty as her anger slowly starts to build up erza is asked to save milana by kagura immediately saying that she will then minerva unexpectedly releases miliana ayersa hurries her friend and discovers that her back is heavily slashed and bloody after hearing minerva's words about it this finally sends ariza into a rage despite her wounds from previously attempting to save kagura areza manages to stand and face minerva however the saber-toothed woman quickly utilizes her magic to grab her by the ankle and pick her up throwing her through the air as she smashes ariza through one of the pillars nearby minerva delightedly claims that she will deliver ayers's public execution as ereza lies bloodied on the ground and attempting to stand up minerva remarks that her feet are far too injured and that she won't be able to rise once more erza rebuts this stating that she will be able to stand as when she's fighting a battle she can't lose she will get up as many times as necessary to defeat her opponent proving her words by standing ereza glears angrily at minerva who comments that malice doesn't suit her nor make her in any way scary continuing minerva uses her magic to flick erisa back to the ground explaining that with her magic she can manipulate any space or territory and that this magic makes her the strongest mage in fiore's strongest guild however while speaking minerva fails to notice that ayers is springing from the ground to stryker heirs has summoned blades slicing through the saber-toothed woman's chest minerva tries to hit erza back with her fists but ereza dodges the blows and continues to slash angering minerva who moves to cast another spell before she can though a furious aerza willingly activates her second origin re-equipping into nakagami armor to continue the fight an undeterred minerva continues her attack referring to ayers as pathetic and fires however erza dissipates the blow to minerva's surprise ereza tells a stunned minerva that she's heard too many people close to her and so she will deliver upon that herself a frightened minerva tells her to stop to no avail as ereza takes her out and earns five points for the team soon after erzo witnesses the saber-tooth symbol sent into the sky by sting euclid and heads off to fight him arriving with the rest of her teammates she listens to sting mock the group over their injuries and claims he can beat them all by himself hearing him state that he wants to fight and defeat all of them at once ereza tells sting that all of them will be his opponents as he desires ereza stands with the rest of her team as sting powers up to take them on even as sting comes forth erza doesn't move ultimately sting concedes that he cannot win and surrenders the battle giving a point to the team and winning the grand magic games for fairy tale to the happiness of the guild members as well as erza erza approaches sting and asks why he didn't attack them and is told in response he fought because he thought he could see lecter again puzzling erza as sting says he now feels he can no longer see lecter ereza tells him he can as miliana appears with the exceed in hand allowing sting to be reunited with his companion a reunion at which heirs his smiles once her victory is announced to all ariza stands with the rest of her guildmates as soon as they're seen by others around crocus who acknowledge their strength soon after erza asks whether anyone saw the signalflare natsu was to use upon rescuing lucy to which nobody replies in the affirmative spurred by discussion with the others sting asks why natsu didn't participate in the final day a question erza avoids answering soon afterwards the guilds are gathered in central square of crocus to be addressed by the king the king reveals the upcoming attack at the hands of ten thousand dragons and requests that the guilds assist the kingdom in combating them erzo with the many other mages enthusiastically agrees to do so as she begins wondering about lucy's condition after her capture she's told that she's fine and that she's with the princess now as the other mages express interest in fighting the king begins crying and thanks them all ending his words with a verbal quirk which causes arizona and the rest to stare at him as the guilds prepare themselves for the upcoming battle erza is approached by kana who suggests her to take a bit more time to rest due to her wound but aerza dismisses it and states that she'll be fine later on an alarming noise emits from the castle to which heirs the questions what it could be suddenly a wave-like assault originating from the location of the eclipse gate shreds through crocus catching airs and the rest of fairy tale by surprise unexpectedly a dragon fully made of flames then appears in front of them claiming that they will experience the flames of hell atlas flame unleashes a giant wave of flames out of its mouth causing erza and the others to be thrown away however everyone survives the attack and aerza then proposes to overpower her and ereza notes to herself that her injury isn't healed yet contrary to what she told kanna earlier with her legs unable to move erza begins to give up as the monsters attack her however jell-o appears blasting away the monsters with his heavenly body magic and asking erza if she needs help that is when miliana notices them enraged to see jell-o again as miliana utters jello's name erza attempts to calm her down and tells her that she's already forgiven jello unable to accept that miliana asks ereza why she's covering for someone who killed simone she then yells out that she cannot forgive jalal so she will kill him however erza argues that such action won't change anything that is when ultier appears and takes all of the blame herself much the heirs as surprise and miliana's confusion as ultier takes her leave ayersa states that ultier is also a victim because she was led down the wrong path from a young age when jalal questions the twisted world they live in heiresses simply states that no matter what they have to live on with jalal's help she is then seen walking away while holding a sword as a means of defense after the dragons return to their time erza and jalal are seen smiling at each other delighted that everything is over after the dragon war erza and the rest of the mages who helped in the fight are invited to mercurius for a celebratory banquet with her drink in hand erza greets lucy and some of the others when they arrive in the ballroom and later also finds and greets kagura asking if her wounds are okay after recalling that a lot attempts to stop them but much to the shock of everyone else she gets punched in the face by natsu and grey and angrily retaliates afterwards back at the guild erza and others find out that nato and grey were working together due to the request demanding so heirs estates they should be thankful that the guild has so many requests again just as another request arrives asking not to and great to take care of it makarov then reveals that it's a request from warad sequin ranked fourth in the ten wizard saints hearing this everyone is surprised and erza wonders what happened walking to the location specified in ward's request aerza comments on the breeze in the open mountain air stating that it feels nice she then turns to natsu and grey who are still arguing and demands that they stop as they're going to be meeting with someone of extremely high standing upon hearing lucy ask if she is right about her description of the 10 wizard saints erza tells her that she's correct and that makarov and jura are among them jalal and jose were and that the four highest ranked saints are referred to as the four gods of ishgar then when erza hears wendy asks what ishgar is she explains that it's an old name for their continent natsu and gray continue bickering and drag erza into the conversation making erza wonder if she's the one being insulted instead of them airs and the group then arrive at ward's house and enter with herzeg explaining that they're from fairy tale who's watering his plants making heirs and nervous ayers's nervousness is quickly broken by ward's playful attitude which leaves her taken aback erza then apologizes before speaking to ward and asks the man if he is who he is which he states that he is if he wasn't joking leaving heirs a dejected he quickly states that he was joking about joking leaving erza annoyed erza then listens as wara talks about a village with an everlasting flame that was frozen solid and that he doesn't know how the disaster occurred but adds that the villagers are alive ward asks them to unfreeze the villagers and the flame prompting aerza to say that someone of his power could easily solve the issue by himself she's quickly corrected by ward who explains that the 10 wizard saints are not omnipotent and that countless mages more powerful than them exist adding that if he were to leave the continent he would be insignificant ereza however is left odd after ward explains that those in a guild make up for what their partners cannot do she and the rest of team natsu then formally accept ward's request and the wizard saint uses his magic to send them the needed two thousand kilometers airs smiles at this marveling at his magic to control mother nature itself arriving at the destination airs and notes to wendy that it took no time at all with the latter stating it was amazing looking at the village erza sees the frozen structures but doesn't see any frozen people despite wards saying there would be some however everyone soon sees a large number of frozen giants and wonders whether the village belonged to them seeing such large people erza is surprised and not to attempt to melt the ice but are unable to with their magic suddenly the group is spotted by three men whose identity erza asks for the men revealed that they're treasure hunters from the silth labyrinth guild and as they repeat it erza tells them there's no need the men claim that they're going to get the flame which guards the village while happy states that they're going to free the village shocking the men who claim that such will oppose their plan which wendy and lucy oppose the men begin running determined not to let themselves be stopped hearing that the flame is frozen the men revealed that they have moon drip in a vial which they can use erza is surprised that they were able to liquidize it and hearing not to state it can help save the villagers gives chase with the rest of her guild however as the others begin to pursue the treasure hunters ayersa decides to stay behind in the village and look for further clues that could help them identify the freezing magic looking around at the frozen giant she notes that each of them is holding a weapon and that they're all facing one direction thinking this over she concludes that perhaps the village was under attack before the spell was cast and that the giants were protecting the eternal flame reasoning that the flame must be in the opposite direction of where the giants are heading due to their protecting it erza runs through the village and comes to a mountain convinced the flame will be at the top erza runs up the slope only to be despaired when she finds nothing at all moving to look around some more and wondering what her real goal was in trying to find the flame aerza suddenly spots her reflection in a nearby slick of ice shocked when she sees that she has turned into a little kid surprised erza wonders if she has an armor that will fit in her current size she then tries to take a step but slips falling down off the mountain she realizes that she will have trouble moving as her mind remembers her former physical appearance imagining the reaction to her friends erza insists that she absolutely must return to her original looks don't understand why it doesn't really matter erza in fact i feel like half of them will be like oh you're so cute attempting to use her magic to gauge how it may have been potentially altered erza releases a large amount of magic power but only succeeds in summoning a small sword commenting that both her physical and magic abilities seem to have been lowered significantly erza is approached from behind by minerva who shocks the redhead when she reveals that she's part of the dark guild succubus eye when erza asks if minerva has lost every ounce of pride as a mage minerva ignores her and asks for a fight stating that erza stands no chance in her current form questioning if minerva was the one who changed her heirs prepared to defend herself whilst minerva explaining that her partner is the one with the age-manipulating magic moves to begin her assault despite her attempts fighting minerva in her childlike body proves meaningless as she is effortlessly dominated by the dark mage who ridicules her and tells her she fully intends to torment her as payback for what happened in the grand magic games as she's kicked in the stomach erzo wonders about the spell which turned her into a child and wonders if she needs to defeat the caster in order to end its effects however minerva has the upper hand and aerza finds herself lying on the ground minerva pointing at erza with a sword states that killing her like this won't suffice and tells ereza that if she begs for her life she might spare her wanting to hear the streams of shamed warrior not complying with this ayers states that minerva has lost a pride as a mage claiming that magic exists to be used for friends nakama power erza then tells minerva that it's not too late to escape the darkness but this just angers minerva who readies to give ariza the final blow at that moment erza suddenly returns to her adult form and defends herself by striking minerva with kicks minerva wonders if doriate was defeated and then mocks aerza for her attire the latter returns the favor as it's revealed that erza grabbed part of a nervous clothing leaving her underwear exposed as minerva becomes even more enraged ayers simply states that it wasn't intentional before too long though doriate once again spreads his magic and turns erza back into a child much to her frustration however as minerva mocks her erza points out that the magic has affected her as well much to her frustration during their battle their actions are paused momentarily as the goings-on of a battle in the distance are noticed hearing minerva inquire as to what it is ayers states that it's natsu not long after both erza and minerva noticed the ice melting with the former happy that her teammates managed to pull it off the two female mages are then approached by a now awakened giant who is surprised to see humans in their village at that moment minerva decides to flee the battle stating that they'll finish it later even though ereza attempts to talk it out one more time minera states that her darkness will corrupt the world not the other way around with the giants and the village saved ereza takes the opportunity to question them as to what happened the giants revealed that they attempted to fight but were frozen before they could do so lucy remembers atlasflame's words about an ice devil slayer and suggests he throws atlas flame thinking him to be one as ayers suggests it was an accident grey butts in telling them they don't know his true intentions and that doriate's warning about the gate to the netherworld still stands hearing this causes airside to think about tartarus to which grace suggests that they were behind the freezing of the village and had succubus eye guarded soon after airza and the group spent the night partying with the giants going on until sunrise after completing warroad's request airs and company returned to ward's home to deliver the news with eriza noting how she's relieved that they completed the request without any further incidents as ward prepares to deliver the payment for their completed task he presents airs and company a potato leaving them astonished later that night ereza lucy and wendy arrive at a secret hot spring with airza mentioning how it's expected of ward to know of such a secretive location as the girls relax in hot springs and enjoy the relaxing experience heirs the comments about the rejuvenation properties of the hot springs as they bathe their attention turns towards natsu gray and happy who are also relaxing in the hot spring after lucy and wendy attempt to cover themselves up in embarrassment from bathing with men erza asserts that it's about his location at the moment makarov proposes reporting this to the council with ayers stating that she was thinking of contacting sting the acting master of sabretooth as well a little while later erza watches as jet barges into the guild hall claiming he has bad news shortly thereafter she stands next to the others as they wait for porta yuska to reveal laxus yajima and the thundergod tribe's condition momentarily thinking to herself that jalal might be one of tartaros's targets while nato is eager to wage war on tartarus erza agrees with makarov's statement that it's too early admitting that they don't know their intentions or the location of their headquarters something even the magic council knew however upon learning some of their locations from loki the guild decides to take down the dark guild and protect the former council members soon makarov gives a speech to everyone to which erza listens to as they then set out later after the deaths of numerous ex-magic council members erza and mira jain are sent to protect the former magic council chairman as a means of avoiding the catastrophe that would mean tartaro's activating face while taking a break on their way mirajin notes that jalal has most likely become a target as well erza replies that even she doesn't know where jalal is but even if she's not with him he can defend himself just fine the two then state that they must protect the former chairman of magic council they eventually reach his house with the chairman crawford seam offering them a cup of tea crawford then questions the reason for erza and mirajane's visits wondering how they got his address erza apologizes and the ex-chairman reminisces about ayers's trial and past much to airs embarrassment the group continues their discussion with ayers as stating that they plan to destroy face however crawford claims he knows nothing of its whereabouts not even the three former council members that are protecting it know where it's located suddenly both heirs and mira jane stand up just as a group of attackers barges into the house heirs and mirajin face them using the black wing armor and satan's soul respectively the female mages are happy to work as a team for the first time determined to protect the ex-chairman together they continue wiping out the attackers with heirs of equipping into her heaven's wheel armor however the two find it odd that tartarus sent such weak enemies when suddenly both fall down crawford is then shown holding the two fairy tale mages bodies while contacting kyoka about the news of him capturing two subjects erza eventually wakes up in a jail she realizes she's naked and chained up just as kyoko welcomes her to tartarus ereza questions the whereabouts of mir jane and crawford and kyoko reveals that the ex-chairman is a traitor having allied with tartarus much to airs a shock joker then notes that any resistance is futile as the shackles have sealed ayers's magic erza asks about mirjain one more time and kyouka reveals that mirjain is currently under the effect of her ability in order to make the fairytale mage into her slave eyreza tries to make her stop but kyouka tells her not to whine and instead asks about jalal's whereabouts ereza questions the reason for that but kyouka tells her one more time to reveal jalal's location while using her ability to cause heirs a great pain when erza states that she doesn't know kyouka slashes her much to ariza's agony the demon then reveals that they found out the names of the three former magic council members that have sealed face with jalal being the only one alive out of them kyouka insists that erza reveals the information about gel out to her proposing to free her and mirror jane in exchange otherwise both fairy tale mages will die however ereza continues claiming that she doesn't know asking kyouka to spare amir jain kyoku smiles as she asks whether erza will let her have some more fun a moment later when kyoku heads out to check the commotion she summons yakdorika to watch seemingly unconscious erza ordering the demon however not to touch the fairy tale mage as not to let all the fun kyouka had while interrogating airs that go to waste eventually kyoko returns to erza in order to find out jello's location she has yakdorya torturing the mage using its electric ability after a short while kyouka orders the demon to stop again asking about jalal's whereabouts however erza tells them to return mira jain kyouka ignores this while telling yakdoriga to continue she grasps erisa's hair noting that she'll double her sense of pain again just as ereza's screams are heard through the dungeon erza is then briefly shown again seemingly unconscious just as the face's seal is being undone later when fairytale successfully avoids the exploding lacrima and attacks tartaros's headquarters kyoku heads to ayers's location to use her as a hostage however she's intercepted by natsu and lysanna the female mage is then revealed to have broken free and is shown in her armorless attire covered with the unconscious body of yokdoriga with a smirker on her face ereza states that she was just returning the favor later kyouka is seen tied up similarly to when erza was being tortured erza with an evil grin states that she will get revenge for all the things done to her much to the confusion of natsu and lysanna natsu then asks about the whereabouts of mere jain and elfman kyouka threatened by erisa's sword gives a reply nathu and lisana head to mirrajane's location while erza continues questioning kyouka she learns of the seal on face being undone and expects jalal's fate to be grim but kyoku reveals that they didn't kill him as face was unlocked through other means heirzen then asks about the demon's goals which leads kyouka to reveal that they intend to destroy the magic of the entire continent in order to return to zara's place at that moment kyoko breaks free and attacks airza stating that the shackles don't work on curses however erza manages to block her attack and deliver a powerful kick she asks whether the demons blindly believe xerath with kyoko responding affirmatively admitting that they were born thanks to his love erza is then a target of a barrage of attacks as kyouka extends her claws to strike when kyouka tells erza that humans will not understand ereza states that humans have faith as well subsequently ereza dons full body armor equipped with a giant lance using it to strike at kyouka ultimately airs with her lance pierces all the way outside creating a hole in cube erza then notices everyone from fairy tail just as she lands while switching back to her previous attire affected by the gravity of undercube she questions the situation but gray states that there's no time for explanations and tells everyone to enter cube through the hole that ereza created she then reveals that natsu and lysanna are fine and with elfin confirming his well-being as well the only one to be found is mere jane eyres smiles as everyone from fairy tales springs into action however she's suddenly grabbed by kyoku's extended claws she tells a worried lucy that she'll be fine and they should focus on stopping the face as the seal has been broken kyouka then smashes erza into a rocky surface however erza doesn't seem to be affected with a grin on her face she states that her payback is far from over with her blade erza repeatedly clashes with kyouka admitting that the demon is strong the two continue their showdown and aerza notices cube trembling one more time with kyoku stating that the end is near however after faces supposed activation kyouka notices that airs magic remains which leads her to ponder if the face operation failed heirzah then watches as kyouka makes a run for it leaving the battle to minerva whose appearance leaves erisa dumbstruck introducing herself as neo minerva and a demon of tartarus erza can only call the declaration absurd being hastily attacked by minerva ayers swaps blows with a new tartarus member before she's contacted by warren who is using his telepathy to inform the fairytale guild that they can consider retreating now that they've rescued all of their lost comrades before ayersa can contemplate her next actions though warren's telepathy is hijacked by mard gear who greets the fairy tale members and bids them farewell as he moves to cass alegria a curse which causes cube to begin deforming being struck with sticky tendrils of the guild building erza begins to be pulled into the floor the redhead soon realizing that the guild building is consuming her angry at her prey being stolen minerva attempts to stop the process but to no avail with heirs of becoming frozen alongside the rest of her guild as part of the newly transformed cube plutogrim after the celestial spirit king casts galaxia blade to dispel alegria erza is freed of its effects and charges at minerva the two clash one more time just as an excited minerva exclaims that airs should show what she's made of the two continue clashing and even though minerva makes use of her territory magic to push heirzah back the latter counter-attacks by delivering a punch to minerva's face as a reborn mage proclaims that she's the strongest airs a questions beneath his enemy just as she strikes her one more time while recalling the time she spent training with her father minerva continues the fight but is yet again punched into the ground by ayersa who tells her to wake up as ereza shows understanding for minerva's actions minerva states that she wants ayersa to kill her but the tale mage argues that there's someone surely waiting for her to come home at that moment a figure appears behind them and erza recognizes the underworld king margiere as mard states that he's come to clean up the place erza seeing that mard targets minerva with his curse yells out her name however she's then shocked to see that the attack doesn't connect and sting and rogue arrived to assist in the battle questioning their arrival ayers soon recalls the latter about minerva joining a dark guild that she sent to sabertooth a while ago but her surprise is then changed to embarrassment as the two exceed as well as the twin dragons state that the latter was so badly written that it took them this staying in rogue stating that they have to deal with face she then warns to exceed that they will be left behind after their short banter arriving at the control room shortly after erza and her friends find the chairman still working to activate face starting towards him to cease his actions aerys suddenly finds herself unable to move and begins to choke herself the group realizing distraughtly that botsela and kyouka have found them with the former utilizing her curse to trap them unable to move heirze listens as kyoku states that face will soon be activated however mirajin suddenly rushes into the room slamming salah harshly into a nearby wall with all of her might and freeing everyone from her possession ayers's happiness at seeing mirajane safe is short-lived though as kyoko reveals that the chairman has completed his activation sequence for face and that it shall fire soon the demon woman also approaches saila and absorbs her powers vowing to fight on for the both of them knowing she needs to defeat gyouka in order to stop faces firing heirs are re-quips into armadura fairy and moves to face the demon head on once more vowing to stop both kyouka and face aerza rushes the demon woman the two exchanging blows until ariza manages to push past gyouka's defenses and slice her through the side unperturbed by the attack kyoku stands and chuckles commenting that she and erza are very much alike before she's interrupted by a strange noise that can suddenly be heard as the noise grows louder and louder both women look to the sky in disbelief as acnelogia descends upon the destroyed tartarus guild both airza and kyouka expressed their shock as acnelogia rampages around the ruins of cube subsequently airs and happy turned their attention towards the fire dragon that appears soon after acnelogia questioning if it could be igneel however unbeknownst to erza margier instructs kyouka to speed up the activation of face via organic link and aerza watches as the demon does so soon learning that kyoku's death will mean face's end she points out kyoku's confidence as the demon enters her aetherius form and strikes to tanya destroying a part of her armor much to her shock as her armadura fairy crumbles and minerva seeing that kyouka is capable of decreasing the timer at will urges her to hurry up ayersa re-quips and charges akioka as they continue clashing airs the questions of demon's actions and their will to die for zerath learning that kyoko will be no more one's face activates at that point kyouka hits everyone with her curse manipulating their sensation of pain she continues to hurt erza soon taking all her other senses as well kyoko rejoices over her seeming victory however erza manages to stand up and after claiming that this means nothing to her as she has her friends to lead her way nakama power she strikes kyoko with her fist much to the demon's surprise heirzah then rushes forward delivering a strong kick shocking kyouka yet again however due to the effects of the demon's curse eze feels pain and momentarily backs away just to return with yet another punch this enrages kyouka who speeds up the face's activation one more time and erza unable to hear the screams of her companions takes an attack from kyouka's claws followed by an excruciating pain the demon then launches a barrage of attacks until areza manages to counter-attack and re-equipping a pair of swords slashes through kyouka's body later after minerva finishes kyouka off and aerza regains her senses she's shocked to witness that face is about to activate with the timer having reached zero erza is upset to have failed to stop the face however she then notices all the face devices being destroyed and wonders what's going on realizing that the continent's magic is saved ayers's expression changes to that of relief erza later joins the rest of the fairy tale members to listen to the dragon's final words a week later airs sits out by the river as she recalls being tortured by tartarus which evokes bad memories of her childhood she wonders if she will ever be able to trust again as she sits there though jalal passes by saying she will be fine he tells her she knows the weaknesses of man well enough so she should keep on her path of light as she has always done and he will walk the path of darkness and tells her to move forward avatar arc in 792 erza appears at an unknown place after gray is forced to save natsu and lucy at the avatar hq he contacts her through a phone and hands it to natsu afterwards from which the dragon slayer can hear ayersa's voice asking what he's done to grey's undercover mission as the group departs erza continuing to use the communication lacrima reveals sonatsu that she was investigating avatar as her cross from jalal and having met gray she asked the ice mage to infiltrate them she also claims to be the one who stopped grey from letting juvia know in order to increase the chances of the plan as well as to keep her safe heirze then explains that they couldn't just crush the group that gray had infiltrated it being just a small cell of a bigger organization even though she's initially against involving natsu and lucy in the plan she smiles as they all state to be fired up getting to fight together for the first time after a year eventually while not to and others protect the town that the cultists intend to annihilate ayersa attacks the dark mages from the rear striking down anyone in her way as soon as her opponents attempt to use magic against her airza reclips into an armor with several blades surrounding her commanding them to attack the cultists in a circular motion afterwards with everyone around them lying on the ground defeated airs a questions if they still insist on resisting that's when jerome appears and aerza has to use one of the swords to defend against his dark sword causing it to melt as ereza deflects further attacks the affected blades are met with the same fate and jerome explains that his sword rots anything it touches however ariza states that her sword strikes without making contact and jerome is found on the ground unconscious ereza then repeats her question asking if her enemies still intend to fight afterwards she re-quips back into her usual armor and continues making her way through the horde of cultists later ayers is able to feel an unknown magic wondering what's going on after a figure of a gigantic being is revealed erza recognizes it to be one of the 18 yakuma gods much to her anger as the summon god attacks splitting the ground in two airza watches not too climbing its sword eventually reaching its head she smiles as natsu defeats the god with one of his techniques recognizing the fire dragon slayer's improvement in his power afterwards just as the magic council's army arrives to arrest the cultists erza approaches gagiel and punches him believing natu's word that he's not the real gagial after learning the truth erza informs him that it was them who stopped avatar's plans together they then cheer on their victory later as frosh appears ereza joins her friends appreciating the cute exceed before heading back to magnolia ayersa states that she has to report back to jalal she's then seen with the rest of the now reformed fairy tale as lucy and others arrive to magnolia with erza greeting bisca and her family she then smiles as lucy cries over the guild's return alvarez empire arc erza later helps in rebuilding the fairy tale guild building proposing to divide the chores so that they finish faster when many of the guild members start brawling erza intimidates them into getting back to work earning herself the position of the seventh guildmaster of fairy tale despite not being her intention as erza attempts to dissuade them mest unexpectedly appears telling everyone that now that the new master has been appointed they need to rescue makarov ayrze then follows mess to the building's basement learning that it's restricted to only the guildmasters as ereza is astonished about seeing lumen swa before she can express her shock any further natsu lucy gray wendy happy and carla accidentally revealed that they followed them erza meets mess to explain lumen he swa however not even he knows its true nature and instead shares his memories with everyone telling them about the mission he received from makarov as well as the danger that the alvarez empire presents to the guild surprised erza realized that makarov disbanded the guild for their sake the group then discusses all the possibilities of makarov's whereabouts just as messed is about to mention the worst case scenario airs stops him they're all eager to go and save makarov but aerza halts their enthusiasm saying that they cannot go without a plan against someone that makarov considered unbeatable claiming that as the guildmaster she wishes to focus on rebuilding the guild first she also states that as a guild master she wants to save makarov and proposes that only those present in the room go on an infiltration and rescue mission while heading to the alvarez empire via boat discussing makarov's mission erza asks how long it will take to reach alvarez mess explains that it'll take a few days and they have to make a stop at caracal island to get supplies as they approach the coast heirs is shocked to see alvarez navy ships and learn through wendy and natsu's hearing that their troops are on caracol looking for a spy to avoid suspicion ayers and the others change their fairy tale guild marks to kate shelter guild marks and tell the alvarez navy soldiers that they're just on vacation flirting with the soldiers alongside lucy's erza and the group make it past the guards but once the group sees a child about to be killed by one of the soldiers erza natsu lucy and gray attack the alvarez navy with their cover blown team natu takes out the rest of the alvarez soldiers who attack them settling afterwards to await any more who may come as wendy and carla take the child to safety and mess teleports away to look for informant ayres and the other sit down with a local vendor and talk to him about his business however the man's shop is suddenly blown away in a large explosion from the rubble a stranger approaches introducing himself as a member of the alvarez empire's brandish squad marin hollow erza enraged that the island was blown up tries to requip to attack the man though he reveals that he's blocked off her magic as his own involves the manipulation of space lucy's attempt to summon a celestial spirit is also blocked due to its spatial relation smiling at the two maren then reveals that he has his own special space reserved for those who break his rules and spirits erza and lucy away in a cloud of smoke erza and lucy are later released as per the instructions of brandish mew a member of the spriggan 12 expressing relief that they're out of the creepy room afterwards airzen notices brandish wondering about her identity she then watches in shock as brandish annihilates marin as compensation for the latter injuring messed airs soon realizes that their opponent knows who they are as brandish reveals that makarov is alive however she also warns fairytale to stay away from alvarez and ereza soon finds no ground below her feet falling into the water as brandish shrinks the island down to only a sliver of land with that final testament to the spriggan 12 strength brandish departs in the aftermath erza and her teammates held the island's resident into nearby fishing vessels after they're finished mess teleports the group to an unknown location underwater and erza is surprised to see that serrano is the spy as she was expecting eric erza is also shocked when serrano says she knows where makarov is and that she's going to take them to his exact location later ayers and her friends sit and wait somewhere near the alvarez empire's capital city vistarion during that time mess teleports to their location with makarov in tow and everyone is overjoyed to see him unfortunately their revelry is cut short when mess informs them that zarath is in the empire as well with his true identity being emperor spriggan irza confirms to makarov that mest has told them everything and then watches as her master sheds tears over his wasted actions while she tells him that as long as they were for someone else they weren't meaningless before they could take their leave they were halted by ajil rammel another member of the spriggan 12. even though ayers and the others get ready to battle makarov orders them not to fight and escape instead with arza requipping an sc plug to drive their magical vehicle after throwing numerous blades as a means of distraction even though she speeds up as much as she can agile quickly catches up with them standing on top of a gigantic sand golem in spite of her efforts to evade the monster as well as lucy and grey's attempts to intercept agile's attacks erza and the others eventually end up in a pit of quicksand losing the vehicle however natsu manages to save everyone by evaporating the sand and heirs are readies to fight alongside her comrades as the group battles agile's overwhelming strength becomes apparent as makarov intervenes grabbing the fairy tale mages in his giant state in order to protect them though erza tells makarov that they can still fight makarov refuses to let them be harmed facing agile's sands of death erza insists that mess teleport them away a confused nest asks where before the tidal wave of sand can reach them however a bolt of lightning strikes dispersing the sand mess then teleports airs and the others into blue pegasus christina the airship that laxus and the others use to reach their location and with laxus launching one more attack they safely fly away afterwards airs faces gaggio's critique for not letting him and the others know about the secret mission before makarov tears up over finally getting his family back everyone's smiling over his joy back in the guild as everyone is confused about what to call makarov now erza announces that she's stepping down so that the title of master can go back to him after partying erza listens to makarov's apology and smiles when natsu states that no matter what happens they will fight against alvarez in order to survive as makarov begins talking about fairy heart mavis appears with erza wondering whether it's her spirit form erza is then surprised to hear of mavis sin as the first master gets ready to explain why xerath is after fairy tale's greatest secret after mavis finishes her story erza is shocked to learn of fairy heart being in an infinite supply of magic power as the first bastard gets upset over dragging everyone into this erza tells her not to blame herself afterwards the topic of zero's immortality is brought up with erza wondering how they can defeat him just then as natsu mentions that his right arm is something that can do the job airzon wonders about his secret weapon that he possesses even though natsu refuses to speak about it airs smiles when mavis decides to leave it to the dragon slayer when makarov goes over all of the information he has gathered about alvarez airs a comment on brandish as someone they came into contact with at caracal island and then wonders whether or not demeria is a mage when described as a female knight she's also shocked to hear that august's knowledge of magic may be greater than that of seraph's afterwards erza relaxes in hot tub along with wendy and carla she confirms that crime society will most likely make a move as well when the young dragon slayer asks about it with carla mentioning that part of that independent guild is responsible for kate shelter's destruction the group recalled the time when wendy joined the guild warrior that she got such a little girl involved airs states to herself that she must protect everyone at all costs she's surprised when wendy hugs her from behind asking titania to let carla and herself protect her this time and it overjoyed erza comments on wendy's growth calling her the pride of the guild not long after erza looks out her window and sees the alvarez empire finally start their attack later erza reaches is ship just in time to save the motion sickness affected dragonslayers aboard by cutting the ship in half as he exceed go take care of natsu and the others areza defeats several soldiers and faces off against agile charging out her enemy eyreza finds her attacks unsuccessful as ajio blocks her swords and abilities he questions whether there's anyone stronger than her in the guild and airs a response telling him not to underestimate fairy tale however azure surrounds her with his sands and ayersa finds that her equip isn't working soon afterwards erza manages to requip her wind god armor blowing away the sand and striking agile much to his amusement at that moment natsu's punch causes bakkel to shoot through agile ship and erza taking advantage of the provided distraction slashes through agile as the fight continues erza uses a sea empress sword a water sword to counter agile sand ability the sand mage continues his attacks but airs at claims that they will no longer affect her having developed countermeasures when agile summons a sandstorm covering not only the whole ship but the whole town as well with sand erza is surprised to see this and comment on the overwhelming power of the spriggan 12 while agile approaches her through the sands eventually managing to grab her neck ayrzen notices that her power is being drained agile insists that heirs that call him a god however she states that the guild won't fear even a god and re-equips into her morning star armor this lets biscus see ayers location enabling her to fire jupiter one more time hitting agile and allowing ariza to use nakagami starlight to finish her enemy off her equip is undone in exhausted airs that falls to the ground before being caught by natsu even though he expresses worry over her injuries telling her wendy will arrive soon all heirze does is raise her fist in victory as the two smile at each other she later rests as wendy heals her after waking ereza listens as mavis sends gray juvia laxus wendy and natsu to harjian port to reclaim it alongside lamy scale and mermaid scale but when natsu turns up missing ayza still heavily wounded offers to go in his place as she wishes to reunite with kagura however the group is then informed that natsu has gone to face seraph alone gray plans to go aid him but erza insists that they continue with mavis plan as instructed the two begin to argue with grey accusing ayers of having too much faith in natsu lucy steps in to break up the debate and maeve decides with erza telling the guild to continue as told ayza travels south with her party deciding to rest for the night telling everybody to sleep well in order to be in top form for the battle she snuggles up with juvia in the latter's double sleeping bag and happily nods off reaching the battlefield the next day ayersa thanks the other guilds for lending fairytale their aid then teams up with kagura as they proceed fighting through a group of enemy soldiers kagura suggests that they move further into the enemy territory and when airzen notes that there are still enemies around them the other members of mermaid heal insist that they will take care of them telling ayers incagura to head to the port knowing that there is another member of the spriggan 12 besides wall and dimaria erza and kagura decide to go together in order to defeat him however they stop for a moment in shock as they're able to witness one of wahl's fire attacks heading to the port erza and kagure encounter two members of the nine heart squad erza quickly recruits her clear hard clothing and the two girls make quick work of their two opponents however just as they finish them two more opponents appear before they can even react though jalal fernandez takes them out surprised to see him erzad tells him to cover his face however he tells her that he's done hiding airza shoots a worried glance at kagura who appears frightened by jalal's sudden arrival the three soon make their way to nine heart ship in the part where they board but are quickly blinded by a veil of darkness and struck away by an unseen attacker when the magic's lifted erza sees the long dead standing before her leaving her awe struck but quickly becomes confused when jalal states that the simone before them is fake with that revelation airs and her companions come face to face with nine heart himself who ominously declares that what they see is their hystoria after nine heart reveals his historia and attacks kagura ereza watches as jealous jumps to save her knocking the two below the ship and leaving her alone with nine heart as erza looks down at the hole in the ship she is suddenly attacked by ikarga who asks if she'd forgotten her the two clash swords before i kagura slices her shoulder noting she's not as sharp as she was suddenly asuma appears stating that it's due to her injuries erza engages the two holding her own for a bit but quickly becomes overwhelmed as nine heart delights in her suffering he summons kyouka the three historians then gather an attack as erza is too injured to fight back receiving further injuries from her enemies despite her effort to defend ayers is only helpless as ozuma ties her up allowing kyouka to torture her by increasing her sense of pain fatally wounded ayersa finally retaliates by terrifying her foes as she mentions their defeats in the past kyouka tries to silence but to no avail as ereza sends a petrifying stare at them causing them horror now ordering them to be gone the entities of her past foes suddenly dissipate entirely collapsing from her severe injuries she immediately receives aid from jalal and kagura the former of whom fiercely intends to end her battle as such jalal ultimately defeats nine heart by casting grand chariot with ereza commenting the beauty of the scarlet sky after the battle she later regains consciousness in a makeshift infirmary surrounded by her friends and is informed that they've obtained almost complete victory in the battle for hargeon while lamyscale and mermaid hill plan to clean up the mess in the port city fairytale decides to head back to their guild although erza is advised to recover from her injuries immediately afterwards as way of apology for resuscitating jelal the completely clueless redhead is kissed by kagura rendering heirs as speechless later she's carried out of harjian by gray but remains unconscious even when a suspicious glow appears on the horizon and soon covers the land and transports her gray and juvia to an unknown wasteland the trio wanders in search of wendy but instead find natsu happy and lucy near mercurius ayersa's presence unsettling irene who is currently inside the castle the group then heads for the guild guided by zera and finally arrives to see that it's fallen to the enemy erza who has regained consciousness keeps watch while the others rest after which they prepared to take back their home together they tried to assess the situation with ayers a noting that it would be foolish to attack with no plans however she also exclaims that until the rest of the guild arrives they should take out as many enemies as possible to get closer to their guild they charge at the army awaiting them and while everyone else makes use of their magic to defeat their enemies heirs are equipped several times swiftly destroying the soldiers ayers is later seen surprised upon witnessing godzirina's display of power and begins to be overwhelmed by ishgard's top wizard saint until gildart's sudden arrival saves them much to heirs delight erza then watches as gildarts takes on god serena but she is momentarily distracted by ajil sand world commenting that the location is surrounded by sand yet again afterwards as gildarts defeats god serena airs along with everyone else smiles and joins the group and continues marching towards their guild as they proceed erza crushes several more enemies commanding everyone to follow her she's later seen defending against the alvarez's troops in light of her guildmate stamina dwindling in the face of alvarez's overwhelming army ayersa cuts a path open for them to continue forward after which telling makarov not to over-exert himself and that they should all return to the guild together however irene's eye appears in the sky again in search of mavis when mavis creates a giant illusion of herself to rally the fairytale troops to victory ayersa comments on her ability to easily do so but the tides of war continue to flow against fairy tale as irene's berserker enchantment allows the alvarez troops to overwhelm even erza despite her determination to carve out a path to victory in this dire situation makarov decides to give up what remains of his life to cast fairy law ayers is desperate in treaties against following such a course of action are ignored and she watches numbly as her foster parent sacrifices himself for his children although devastated the knight composes herself and pays her respects to her former master considering herself to have been blessed to have such an outstanding parent soon afterwards she breaks up the fight between gray and natsu and finally breaks down even as she questions their lunacy she urges the friends to recall their past together instead of falling prey to momentary outbursts of emotions as the two males begin to regain their sense of reason erza commands them to listen to their late masters lingering thoughts and tearfully pulls them into an embrace soon after happy lucy carla wendy and juvia arrive on the scene they decide to have porluska tend to gray natsu and juvia all of whom have collapsed but the group is suddenly attacked by irene who cryptically remarks that she and erza are one and the same erza begins by telling irene she doesn't know what she means but after seeing her become affected by larkay dragneal's pleasure she tells her comrades to flee with the injured she then charges that irene intent on finding out what she meant but is retaliated against with an atmospheric enchantment that to her surprise wendy blocks and defuses ereza continues to attack irene using various methods but her attacks are easily parried with even the heaven's will armor's bloomin blot being simply rearranged into a mocking hanamaru at ayers's request irene identifies herself as her mother something which airs says is a lie as she was always alone in rosemary village she then completely rejects irene claiming that makarov was her only parent after her mother expresses indifference to her existence erza tells irene that anyone who stands against fairy tale is her enemy ayersa immediately rejects irene's subsequent desire to tell her the secret of her birth but her advance is halted and erza is forced to listen tyrine begin her tale learning that she was once called the queen of dragons erza listens as irene reveals that she was the queen of a dragon loving country called dragnoff 400 years ago and was present when the dragonkin festival started surprised that her mother is 400 years old erza wonders how she looks so young but irene blushes that comment aside and continues her tale revealing that she was the one who created dragon slayer magic this shocks erza who also learns of the negative side effects of enchanting humans with a dragon's power including but not limited to the dragon seed which slowly turned her mother into a dragon all while she was pregnant with her erza also learns the identity of her father and hears of her mother's imprisonment and torture by said man for undergoing dragonification the subsequent complete transformation thereof and her encounter with xerath that restored her to human form after several hundred years finally irene's story comes to an end when she states that she failed to enchant herself onto her unborn baby to become human again and discarded her and erza thanks her mother for birthing her while irene rejects ayersa's gratitude she reveals while requipping into a new armor that the thanks is that because of irene's abandonment that she found her true family in fairy tale after once again denouncing her mother ereza dodges irene's ensuing enchantments and clashes blades telling her condescending mother that she can beat her because she has a real family with her wendy lands a hit which allows ariza to use her red black twin blades to land one of her own after ariza listens to irene try and scare wendy with the dragon seed but after she learns that the dragon grandini stop the seed from ever sprouting irene becomes enraged erza is enhanced by wendy's deus echois and remains so because wendy negates irene's day as zero with her own the fairy tale magic then combines her two swords into one and slashes her non-resistant mother on the head only to listen to a largely unfazed irene say that the truth of the enchantment isn't in blood relations it's in magical compatibility and that that is why she failed to enchant herself onto hereza citing that she has a dragon slayer and an enchanter in front of her irza turns around horrified to see that irene has completely taken over wendy's body eyreza wonders what happened to wendy only to learn from irene that she is the girl prompting her to charge at her mother as she's kicked away titania is told that she is not possessing the little dragon slayer and that she has actually become wendy erza is then bombarded by a series of explosions and irene making full use of wendy's dragon slayer magic all while feudily trying to get through her friend's ego the woman runs at irene yet again but stops after the spriggan 12 member asks her if she actually wants to harm wendy's body thinking back to many emotional moments with wendy ayers have falters and is overwhelmed yet again her armor explodes but she comes out unscathed due to wendy revealing herself to have found her way into irene's body and casting deius corona erza goes on to watch as irene and wendy battle each other with wendy using the higher magic power in irene's body to successfully put them back in the correct bodies but not before irene names the abdomen of wendy's body wendy then collapses and asks erza if she can finish the fight which the woman angrily says that she can erza goes on to immediately dodge her mother's barrage of enchantments and tells her desperate foe that she can sympathize with her misfortune but must defeat her regardless irene wonders how she could possibly understand her erza reveals her past as a slave but adds that she wouldn't change a single thing she underwent as it led her to people she now loves these words anger irene who screams for irza to die and changes into her true dragon form though she's shocked erza can do nothing to defend herself from a powerful swipe that leaves both her legs and left arm broken listening to her mother explained that her form as the sage dragon lets her cast master enchantments the fairytale mage can do nothing as irene enchants an asteroid to come crashing down to the battlefield upon seeing deus emma erza realizes that it's a stronger version of jalal's emma and realizes that if it hits it'll kill everyone on the battlefield realizing that she can still move her right hand ariza requips a gauntlet to launch her upwards and after saying that being the queen of the fairies means more to her if her mother is the queen of dragons and that her job as a queen is to protect the one she loves ayersa requips her sword once more and calls out for makarov to give her the strength she needs to destroy the meteor ariza manages to destroy deisema and as she falls she aims her blade at her mother irene points out that erza can't pierce her dragon scales but a barely conscious wendy enchants her sword with dragon slayer magic which allows ariza to deal a crippling blow she then lays on the ground helpless as her mother points her own sword at her in response ereza smiles which triggers irene's temper ariza pushes herself up allowing her sword to impale her to headbutt irene claiming that she hasn't given up yet after she lands irene reveals to have her sword yet again but opts to instead commit suicide leaving heirzeb bewildered ereza proceeds to ask irene why she stabbed herself and with her last breath irene tells ariza that her smile made her remember just how much she loved her with her mother now having passed erisa bids her farewell wendy comes over to her and asks her how she's doing wendy expresses more concern about erza to which ereza replies that she's fine and that her only parent was makarov the dragon slayer then notices much to erza's dismay that the aforementioned master scent has disappeared in response she embraces wendy and tells her that she's with her due to irene's death universe 1 dissipates and the two fairytale girls are caught in the flash of light that returns fiore to normal the light subsides erza is healed enough so that she can walk and after wendy confides in her that if she had been with makrav then he may have lived the s-class mage tells her that he knew fairy law would burn up his life the two then sent an enormous magic power approaching them which belongs to aknalogia who lands right in front of them erza recognizes acne logia's magic power but fails to identify him due to his arrival in human form she then watches in horror as acnologia defiles her mother's corpse upon recognizing her as the mother of all dragon slayers upon regaining her composure ayersa demands that achnologia leave her mother's corpse alone but is instantly rendered silent as the black dragon comments that she and irene share identical sense she watches in shock as wendy successfully deduces the dragon's identity and can only stand still as acnelogia proceeds to attack her however jalal manages to arrive in time to shield a surprised erza from the blast before going to attack the black dragon with his own magic despite his efforts agnologia emerges from their spar unscathed revealing himself as the dragon of magic before reverting to his dragon form ayers acknowledges that aknologia's magic power is far greater than when they last confronted him on tenro island and is forced to watch in horror as wendy attempts to challenge the black dragon herself the trio are saved by ichiya who rams the magic bomber christina into acnologia and urges the group to board the ship although initially hesitant jalal persuades ayersa that it's their only option while ichiya scolds the swords women for underestimating christina he proceeds to explain to the shocked s-class mage that she's found a way to prevail over the black dragon which is confirmed by a mysterious woman who approaches erza and the others with achnologia hot on their trail the blue pegasus members discuss the alternatives and scenarios to make sure he's fully lured by them wendy tries to remember anna fully while jalal and erza discuss her validity ichia then alerts them that they're closing in on the space between time barrel rolling to dodge it while achnologia crashes into it but passes right through it unaffected due to it being closed by its founder zeref who sealed it until he obtained fairy heart later by the ocean anna takes over the broken christina to once more push acne logia through the space between time being that it's her 400 year plan but can't control the ship which allows ichia to take over in her stead the two forcefully push the black dragon through the wormhole sucking the three in the never-ending sphere of space vanishing in thin air as the guild cries for their victory and loss the crack in the sky is caused by aknologia absorbing the space between time becoming a controller of time magic everyone is fearful for their lives while acnologia declares humanity is all over casting eternal flair which decimates parts of the world with his newfound power he warps all seven dragon slayers into the dimension of the space between time facing natsu as he prepares to slay the remaining remnants of dragons to become the perfect dragon in existence inside the space between time natu encounters aknologia who informs him that all the dragon slayers have been immortalized as pillars in order to stabilize his magic and begins to do the same ana and ichia are released from the time space magic and enlighten everyone on their current status while mess later appears to take heirzet to the rest of the resistance they all learn that acnologia's physical and spiritual self has been split and his physical state is on a crash course towards magnolia through the thoughts of their loved ones the six other dragon slayers break free with the dragon king challenging the last of the dragon slayers while the seven dragon slayers engage ecnologia in battle within the space between time lucy devises a strategy to prevent the black dragon's physical form from wreaking havoc on magnolia by sealing him away from fairy tale's ultimate defense spell very severe the resistance begins to attack agnologia in an effort to lead him to magnolia only to no avail as no magic works on him on the spiritual side the seven dragon slayers are beaten down by the dragon king and outmatched after successfully leading the black dragon to the port harbor his instincts lead him to nuking away all the ships in an effort to prevent his weakness both on the physical and spiritual sides the resistance group together wendy enchants the six other dragon slayer's magic upon natsu while lucy guides everyone into forming fairy sphere to combine their powers to finish acnologia once and for all agnology's rampage continues even with very sphere encasing him leading to merity saving the day by linking all of the mage's continent's powers to help reinforce the defense magic natsu with the combined power of the other six dragon slayers defeats the spiritual form of acnologia which in turn disintegrates his physical form leading to ishgar's victory and their future secured in the year 793 lucy wins an award for her new book while all the guilds in the country of fiore move on with their lives he sweep pardons crims sorcier of their crimes allowing them to live onto the future lucy thanks natsu for everything he's done for her leading him to tell her that their team has been approved
