[Music] foreign [Music] and today we're watching a new show HBO Max called The Last of Us uh this is a game this is a show that's actually based on a video game extremely popular video game won tons of awards and uh I'm super excited to start this series up and I think she's excited as well okay let me preface this she doesn't do zombie stuff so I'm kind of almost like like trying I'm just trying I'm trying to follow me here I'm trying to get her into this now this isn't a zombie show not really um I've been traumatized from listening to you watch it's a washing dishes over and over each week and I'm like is there what is it so so yeah just to kind of give she doesn't normally do this type of show but we did a poll I'm doing it for you guys for you she did it we did a poll and on the poll it said that you wanted me to watch the show with Shay I said I heard I was going to be alone myself my viewers so I'm gonna put this all aside just for you for you so so yeah like And subscribe definitely share and hit that notification Bell so you can get a notification every time we drop a video uh to our patrons thank you so much and to our uh pop icons and pop Legends you're gonna get this early and we're gonna jump into this episode first episode of the last of us are you ready I'm I'm this is legitimately ready to get into stuff yeah I know normally you're like can we just skip past can we just go ahead and get into the episode but this time like are you ready I want to make sure that you're good she does she doesn't even do like horror stuff like for real but this it's not it's not it's something different it's something different I mean it's there's gonna be some I don't want to spoil it but yes are you okay I'm going to hear that I doubt it no because they they have something called clickers but that's getting too much into it [Laughter] let's just get into the episode let's just get into it and that's your biggest worry yes any kind of virus but probably something because of air travel through the year coffee I meant people on planes that was something you described in your book yes a new virus in Madagascar say it could be in Chicago within a matter of weeks and we end up with a global pandemic pen meaning all the whole world becomes as he's sitting up there smoking and blowing smoking was this 1968 so yeah Prospect of a viral pandemic keeps you up at night as well no no no no that's our show that's crazy I know all three of these actors and they're all great today's win but you uh just to be clear you you do think microorganisms pose a threat or in the most dire terms bacteria no you like saying no yes fungi seem harmless enough many species know otherwise because there are some fungi who seek not to kill but to control let me ask you hmm a fungus psilocybin also a fungus viruses can make us ill but fungi can alter out um fungus starts to direct the ant's Behavior telling it where to go what to do like a puppeteer with a marionette and it gets worse the fungus needs food to live hmm replacing the ants flesh with its own but it doesn't let it oh John Heist you're in distress fungal infection of this kind is real but not in humans true fungi cannot survive if its host's internal temperature is over 94 degrees reasons for fungi to evolve to be able to withstand higher temperatures but what if that were to change what if for instance the world were to get slightly warmer well the seps aspergillus any one of them could become capable of borrowing into our brains and taking control not of millions of us but billions of us billions of pop that's scary very live by any means necessary and there are no treatments for this no preventatives no cures they don't exist it's not even possible to make them so if that happens we lose wow that was very intense scary yeah which essentially that's what this series is about foreign I mean just from what I'm what I've read from [Music] how this stuff works that does turn one into a zombie yeah essentially it does yeah that whole description was describing that when he was describing how it the ant will become once it has that virus inside of it right this intro is very telling yeah there's a lot a lot of little hidden uh not so hidden wow innuendo era show two people in silhouette images okay that's funny has a subtitle for the and for the text on the screen oh was that yeah I was sorry I was gonna make you birthday pancakes you know I don't really like pancakes I know you don't like them that's my benefit hmm Simply Orange oh fractions how old are you again 36. a point to say that she's completely deaf be right there oh what is oh what what what whoa whoa whoa oh but how is Adler can I borrow this in the world oh okay now she gets up out of that wheelchair yeah well you're taking some cookies [Music] okay now the dog I'm waiting for the dog to react I heard him whimper is she dead the dog is sensing something wrong yep oh my goodness this is intense right nothing's happened yet I know but maybe so much anxiety right now yeah okay okay that was three aircrafts yeah three fighter jets by herself oh this is just like the game oh my God this is just like what the game I only played like the first um I think the first 45 minutes of the game okay I'm glad our dad is home he locked the door for once good job yeah um I was hoping they were going to watch the news to see what was going on like he doesn't know anything if [Music] you don't get your present you in prison swear him and his promises did you what I don't hear anything that's mean that's messed up where'd you get the money for this yeah oh drugs I saw hardcore drugs it's better when I do which I stole from you at least she's honest change back because I'm an honest Thief and you were never gonna do it for yourself so um you think do you think she reminds him of her mother probably from the adlers oh this is the one we deleted scene those have to be come on pop it in let's he was going to be back home I remember playing this part of the game oh man don't I'm not I'm not saying anything I'm already like just anxiety I know I know right oh mercy he's trying to tell her back in that house stay away from that house yeah Sarah okay the door is open yeah don't go in the house I don't yeah always pay attention to the animals oh my goodness come on with it and did she leave her front door open the door was open it was to her house oh I think so I think so my goodness I know it's going to be a jump scare okay whoa don't go towards the blood no oh that's the old lady that is the old lady you you run run get out of there Sarah get out of there oh close the door oh don't he didn't close the door that's our dad yep hmm oh get in the truck oh get in the truck what are we doing what are we doing Joe he's gonna get back up bruh what did you drop that for I can't she gonna grab him on the leg come on get in I was wondering when he was gonna be done making that U-turn goodness oh was that the lady that he just told to get in the house yeah she's like Jesus Christ Joe he just ran him over and she went over to help them and now she's infected too what how do you know we're not sick you're saying it's mostly people in the city that's why they got the highway block I mean the old lady didn't come into contact with anyone she just sat there and started had to have come in contact with in some way shape form or fashion I think it was the best sir oh that's what it was it's probably what we're fine trust me I guess he got Uncle Tommy out in time then yeah foreign [Music] those are going to be the hardest decisions to make and at that point that's when you just have to save yourself everybody everybody's trying to get out oh my goodness I hate that they can't see a head because I'm like oh wow it's good for them that's that's gonna happen I don't know they're about to show what's gonna what's gonna happen with that truck that just went past them hard as far as we can how much gas oh man that's how you always keep your gas tank filled never know then we're out it's so crazy it feels exactly like the game even the dialogue oh whoa those are airplanes coming down right they're gonna crash grab something oh man so crazy the bad part about that is that they have like a bed you know attached to their truck oh which anybody can start to jump on it right you can't drive through them are you serious just keep going go back the other way go back the other way driving reverse we see all those people there bitten come on Uncle Tommy Drive In Reverse buddy oh man oh man oh oh no whoa whoa hmm [Music] how long are they going to keep the screen black oh my gosh likes this thing on oh my goodness this is intense yes Sarah okay okay oh no come here are you okay we gotta get off the street oh they got out just in time to say something he made him call him three times right we can't leave him he'll be fine can you run you keep your eyes on me oh look anywhere else I hate he don't have a weapon or anything oh this is just episode one oh no oh no keep going go the other way go the other way make a decision wait a minute why did Tommy stay behind again he couldn't get through because the uh two cars were blocking the way that he couldn't get around he couldn't go oh man oh my God oh my goodness what is wrong with him crazy maniac I mean I know what's wrong just that's Uncle Tommy he he found a way to get through oh wait who shot him oh I'm Gonna Give You someone to say first don't go back for him okay no yes sir don't yes sir oh we're not sick sure I'm sorry please stop oh God I'm so glad Tommy came what's wrong with Sarah hello I know I know I know I know it hurts oh no I know I know I know baby I know I know I know this hurts you're gonna be okay baby baby listen to me I gotta get you up okay I gotta hit you up all righty come on you come on I know baby no no I know I know I know I know I know I know come on his birthday that's gonna be the worst birthday he had for the rest of his life man I I was not expecting that [Music] foreign going to bring them in for a treatment I guess so they figured out the uh how long it takes for somebody to turn after they've been bitten or infected right right here it's just a little needle did they throw it do it through his shirt that's not sanitary oh that's that's him right there oh that was little boy I thought he was clean I thought that was what that when he so when they did whatever they did to his neck yeah it was red yeah I thought that meant that he was good I mean it would be good as soon as she smiled and said okay we're gonna get you some but I feel like that was just to make him comfortable oh but why did they give him a shot then I don't know maybe that was I don't know oh maybe the shot was how they take them out with you yeah nothing today curfew hours say again what'd you say what did it say about curfew hours I didn't see it so he went all the way from South to up north east to Boston from a quarantine Zone [Music] are you serious yes martial law I don't get how people stand around and gather for something like that and watch people be hung to their death yeah it's it's um it's a spectacle and people who are disenfranchised and people who are oppressed tend to flock towards spectacle number five oh you guessed you want them or not I wonder for The Other Guys 200 for you deal guys are jumpy and tired it's easy to make a mistake in the dark stay safe yeah you too he's got this character down like I'm just seeing the video game right now it's not like I planned on ripping you off some guys and then you and I can just move the [ __ ] on now your [ __ ] has pretty much rushed so are we good oh wow that was unexpected [Music] was that planned I didn't get that far in the game so I don't know if this was in the game or not yeah yeah I mean I I have no idea somebody is bleeding and yeah running away God they are so aggressive six seven eight [ __ ] you for me people from cedra you hear me let me out of you [ __ ] hmm foreign is not Veronica why did you say that her name is not Veronica what is her name her name is Ellie she's the main character is there any chances coming in at night you're sleeping you miss it um when I'm sleeping Gabriella listens or my son the smart one not the other one God bless him if Tommy responded we'd know or every day they gave him your message they haven't seen or heard from him since that's it you're a capable guy but there are worse things than infected out there I hear everything on this there are Raiders there are slavers but you sure Tommy is okay hmm [Music] not a horrible place for a post-apocalyptic future pretty big room hmm it's a long road ahead that's not a good combination man oh he still has it is that Tess foreign he's gonna see her face those guys are gone though I think they got taken out by the explosion yeah probably have to be outbreak never learned how to argue to start swinging so what the guys who jumped me away with Robert he sold on battery to someone else she said she wasn't gonna tell him right don't know well where is he don't know yet are we gonna find out quietly understand that guy Robert he's been other stuff I heard him and in everything he's been in he's been the same type of character no really it's like kind of sniveling kind of guy and no I've seen her in a long time you've had her anyway Rebellion takes time five or 20 years and you get nowhere you're not a rebellion spray paint we're not hitting Federal room West from our guy in the radio tower in Salem hmm you think that's Tommy I think so yeah but the old man is is sending him to Wyoming it is keep it quiet whatever it's funny how like uh conspicuous everybody looks like if you're feeling lost tell me to look for the light and I'll break your jaw like on second thought never mind [Laughter] no so can I go no what is the it and Ellie my [ __ ] mom or something and look like you're why won't you let me call hmm what I'm about to tell you cannot be repeated to anyone because if you do I assure you you will die I think I'd remembered this part of the game I think looks a little familiar whoa yeah I know I just I just I wasn't expecting it yet take it he wasn't down here last time no or are they getting so close to it it's infected well maybe down here is where he was infected oh 80s everyone was cutting down on apartment sizes to sell more condos [Music] Russian corner with Joel Miller you smell that oh no that's fresh blood he's already dead foreign that's the battery there was that where they were just at Ellie and Marlene um [Music] sure oh they got attacked Joel Marlene you okay is she like the last child alive or better or worse what are they capable of you get her there [ __ ] it's better stuff so better than decent chance making it to Tommy in one of those the second we have that kid over we all talk it through but please remember that I'm bleeding out she's like uh can we hurry this along now it's funny how you have to repeat yourself more than once to a child like they have a choice in the matter right don't [ __ ] this up please and I gotta tell them that's not true right suspicious at all exactly I wonder if she knows how to build a battery or if she's a wedge whiz kid of some kind or I'm just curious what makes herself special that sounds like she's the only child alive we'll talk about it I thought she was going to try to climb out the window the radio is a smuggling code right 60s song they don't have anything new 70s they got new stuff what Sadie's foreign so what's the deal with you anyway you some kind of bigwig's daughter or something like that [ __ ] gotcha it means trouble code broken [Laughter] listen okay that's what what they're announcing it doesn't even make sense oh like you let them out during the daytime for a certain period of time so anyway so we're gonna put you on curfew to avoid infection and Insurrection huh okay that could happen during the daytime well they figure you know most of the um nefarious things happen when there's low visibility so got you yeah I mean it's like how it is now if you look downtown most of the bad stuff we hear about happening happening always happens at night yeah okay take the left edge around that makes sense and the outbreak the first outbreak did happen at night time so he's not liking his plan at all oh that's his guy yeah so blessed hands on your head eyes forward hands on your head really man yep the game is fine if it doesn't turn red things should be good all right what about three quarters unauthorized exit we're hanging for that fine everything off of this run oh oh she's got the switch laid out she what fix this move um I knew that was gonna happen she's like I'm not letting this happen again he's having flashbacks like that's what I should have done to the other guy oh wait did what's your face get shot to who gets shot Tess she walked over no she didn't get shot Joe we gotta move take his gun yep he's smart go man go I think he hate that he had to do that because that was his connection 70s or 87 that's 80s yeah that's definitely 80s wow 80s means trouble I suppose so good oh this is an hour and 20 minutes that's why it was so long okay so how do you feel about the episode it was yeah yeah um I what I love so far about the fact that they almost did shot for shot the first portion of the game because I didn't let me let me preface this I tried to play the game and I I think I ended up getting distracted and started doing other things but I think I played maybe the first I want to say 45 minutes of the game so I can't say I've played the game but I definitely remember all of this opening portion of it and it was almost very verbatim how it was in the game it was fired even though your schedule is overly full are you inspired to try to play go back and play it I mean I I I had the the ambition to try to go and play the game before the show came out and every time I even thought about going over there to grab the the controller for it I ended up I'm like I have way too much work to do yeah I got so many videos to edit like like this one here um but yes between videos editing videos and my other uh duties or my other job yeah project I just don't have I just don't have the time for it but I would love to go in and play it I mean honestly I've always been the kind of person that would just watch a cinematic as opposed to playing the game anyway so this is my version of watching The Cinematic I'm watching a game player even though I have not played the game the driving part when Tommy was driving the truck and was doing all those turns yeah even though I have not played any portion of the game that was the part that felt like you were in the game in the game yeah like because it was like whoa yeah that part is in the game I remember that part yeah and I was like this is crazy this is just like the game like everything that happened almost like I said shot for shot it was there um and I'm excited it was really cool and it's like they're I mean but then again the the guy who is it was uh who created the game uh I can't remember his name was but he he's making the show so it's like he's totally there to be like you know doing a one-for-one comparison yeah I do something to change some change some things um uh I like the fact that they got Marlene Marlene I I this is just from knowledge of the game in general um I know that Marlene is from the game she voiced the character Marlene in the game and in real life she's playing the live action version which is pretty cool um but yeah just so far without showing too much of like the the zombiness of it how do you feel how do you feel about it um so far so good it wasn't was it too overwhelming for you a little bit um only because when you involve children and yeah there are demise that part makes it very difficult that was extremely hard but um other than that I mean they did a really good job with everything from what I can see so and a lot of it feels really um surreal yeah like some of it could possibly happen we kind of live through a little bit of it um not to the magnitude of where it's just you know martial law is in full effect on here yeah and people are being controlled by the military and um they're like they have no life to live that they can't make their choices they can barely walk in broad daylight you know and then there was parts of it that reminded me a little bit of the Book of Eli you know where they had limited resources and you know and in order to get you know artery yeah so but see coming from my background where I I watch a lot of you know apocalyptic or zombie apocalypse style shows um this felt different even from the outset uh after watching Walking Dead and all of us are dead and uh uh black summer and those type of I I got some of the elements of those but way more of the elements of like other things that like you said like Book of Eli like it felt like it felt more like that um and I am excited for this show I really am yeah I'm glad I'm glad you're watching it with me I know that it was I know you're like do this but I'm glad that you're here to watch it um yeah and I'm glad that you're here watching us watch it yeah hopefully you um have already watched it and you're not just watching it for the first time with us but if you are cool that's cool too uh if this isn't your genre and you're like hey I was here for Abbott Elementary and all of a sudden I see this crazy show I I don't even watch the kind of stuff but I'm just watching you guys watch it so you know it's fine it's totally fine watch it with me you could right you can live vicariously through us we'll watch it for you and we'll try to keep out too many crazy Parts because uh YouTube will demonetize you for putting too much craziness on screen but uh but yeah we're excited for the show yeah and uh we're gonna have we're gonna watch episode two and uh if you want to watch us watch episode two go ahead and like And subscribe hit
