The LaBrant Fam’s Chic Adventure-Themed Nursery REVEAL!

[Music] hello welcome everybody oh my gosh we are back doing an omg we're coming over and we're so excited this has been a long time in the making because we came to meet the lebran family before the pandemic hey guys i'm cold i'm savannah and we have two daughters everly and posey and we're the lebrandt family we are so beyond excited to be working with mr kate on the room renovations of new baby z coming so excited pretty much any day now yeah by the time you guys watch this he might be here savannah is 38 weeks pregnant yeah this baby is coming like any day she's already having braxton hicks contraction so we need to make these rooms over real fast before the baby comes we are doing their nursery and also their movie theater make sure to hit that subscribe button if you're not already a products of theirs today yep light bulbs are a crucial part of our interior design and you guys will see those in the space but oh my gosh there is so much to do like let's just get down to business because this is like a hole it's a whole thing [Music] can't wait to decorate there's so much we could make how will it turn out omg we're coming over [Music] open up we're here okay you're yelling like so loud all right so obviously we're in the middle of the pandemic it's super important that we um make sure that we're being responsible for the lebran family's health and well-being our health and well-being our crews health and well-being so we've actually gone through their house we've taped off all of the walkways with plastic so basically they're no longer going to be able to access the rooms that we're in and vice versa there's a protocol that's now in place from the film industry that we are following which is very strict about hand washing and people wearing masks when they're within six feet of each other and making sure keeping the windows open so that there's airflow all of that so we are following all of it to a tee and we were able to plastic off the areas that we are decorating because they have a different staircase that goes upstairs so they're still able to access their bedrooms and the whole rest of the house and we are able to separately access the two rooms that we're doing so it's working out perfectly all right oh my gosh i'm so excited to do this for that this room feels so much smaller than whenever i remember so right now the nursery is basically just nothing it has an air mattress white walls nothing going on it's a tall room but otherwise it is small it's a small little postage stamp room it's actually the perfect size for a nursery it's great yeah without the necessary nursery items coming in here i'm so glad we're getting rid of that we have a new beautiful fixture going in to the bathroom because obviously the bathroom is so much part of this room the nursery also has its own bathroom um in it but it's just pretty plain yeah when we came and scouted we were like okay this nursery has an ensuite bathroom which basically just means no other rooms access this bathroom so it really is part of the space part of the design so yeah we couldn't leave that room just plain and white as is they have a new fixture going in on the ceiling there like they didn't even have on there like so we're gonna have blackout curtains for them overhead the advantage bulbs and also i have a floral lamp too and then what else we're doing here we're doing so we're doing like a molding situation molding okay so remember info wise we have the bolding and the like spotted wallpaper kind of look all right so you guys remember we came out to orange county we came out to see their space in person we stayed in a hotel we brought moon this is before the pandemic baby is made so talk to us about inspiration here because oh my gosh i know a little boy you could go gender neutral you could have a little bit of influence of i think we want to go like oh boy yeah i'll let her take the lead but oh okay but wait you have no opinion about about boy stuff um i don't like camera's room like that i'm more so excited about just like soccer so when you're like outside oh no there you go that's all there's no dinosaurs no all right so here's the design plan for the nursery we are bringing in a wayne scotting nice and high on the wall painting it a beautiful darker color we are doing wallpaper above in a beautiful print we're bringing in a rug we're bringing in a crib we are bringing in a dresser we're bringing a beautiful rocking chair in in the corner and of course adding some lovely curtains to the windows and some lighting to top it all off and we're also doing something in there yeah okay all right so all right so the coolest thing about this bathroom is obviously this window and this is like a cool yeah it's like interesting kind of gabling here and yeah so this is gonna become a porthole in the bathroom we are taking a cue from that round window and going with a ship theme bringing in some shiplap with a beautiful dark color over top and then we are making that round window into a porthole with molding it's gonna look so cool we're changing out the mirror we're changing out the lighting and to finish off our nursery design we are adding some custom animal artwork so just doing a wall full of shiplap on the porthole window wait are you saying portal or porthole not sure both work no they don't work sure it is a porthole well it could be a porthole into another world no let's put shiplap first and then paint the shiplap yeah and then they'll put them the porthole over it all right so let's start with the molding okay molding all right so super cool these are so cool so excited and happy this is gonna make this go a lot faster so we're always trying to give you guys like quick and easy tips to do at home and we found these molding pieces that are already pre-made so you buy these squares or rectangles you can use them to jazz up doors or walls or whatever yeah we're doing like a tall wainscoting yeah a tall wainscoting and it's taller than i am which i'm not very tall so we're basically just going to wrap the room in this chair where i'm molding and then we're going to put these pre-made molding pieces under the chair rail well we wanted to three inches i know but i've just been seeing i think we do like three and a half inches baby so three and a half seven ten and a half inches plus 48 is 58 and a half you always look at me and i like 58 tuned out when the first number was that so you're clear on these neighborhoods i'm gonna go start working on the portal [Music] okay [Music] oh oh hello pig excuse me keep your social distance please pig is this i think it's i don't know all right so i am going to cut a round shape out of this plywood and essentially we're using the plywood to create kind of like a molding around the window but obviously because it's round we have to use a jigsaw and cut from plywood but then there is a flexible molding that we're going to use kind of on the inside of the window to really seal it in and make it look finished so this porthole project obviously the challenge is creating molding around something that is round right usually we're dealing with right angles with molding so we are going to just use a big piece of plywood and i am drawing a circle shape with a compass obviously it's kind of just a pencil on a string but that works so once i have my circle sketched out on this plywood i'm going to use a jigsaw to cut it out all right so i've got my circle here i'm just going to make sure with my measuring tape that it measures 17 and 8 all the way around before i cut it out with a jigsaw then obviously i need to do an additional circle out here because i want a nice wide molding piece it's going to fit around the window and then we might do a second piece that's a little bit thinner so that it looks like a step like we're really kind of building out and then we're gonna paint the whole thing white and it's gonna look really cool ah the girl between two shapes we have so much stuff go down and go around that way i just no i don't want you stepping on this because this is the credenza right here let's talk about our beautiful light bulbs right now please join me between two shades lounges all right so let's talk about lighting in this nursery okay so lighting is really important in any design that we do for a baby it is really important to have the right temperature of lighting because especially in the evening as you're decompressing getting ready for sleep you want a warmer light you don't want a lot of blue light so we're going 2700 kelvin 2700 nice yeah though these are super easy spectrum to see so we're using the new natural series led light bulbs with true wave technology from the makers of sylvania general lighting in this room they cause a lot less strain on the eyes so it's just a warmer light and we really want this space to be welcoming and nurturing so having these bulbs in particular in a nursery is going to make a big difference the other cool thing about these is true wave technology provides the best alternative to natural light by mimicking the natural light spectrum so you see realistic vivid colors and also they are dimmable which is so important too in the nursery all right so let's go look at where we're at with the molding and get started on the shiplap all right quick update my eyes are burning with sweat i'm trying not to touch my face right because that's the whole thing with coronaviruses don't touch your face but the molding as you can see is going really well so pretty much got one wall done and then we got the pieces laid out where they're gonna go in the room we're gonna get these all up we'll caulk the edges paint this bottom portion for them the magic to happen up there okay so then once i know in the morning i'm gonna get the ship lock on that we just pivoted and decided we're gonna do but basically the ship lab is called nickel gap shiplap because basically the way it works is you have this tongue right here that fits behind in this little notch and then there's just going to be a nickel gap i'm going to start down there behind the toilet filled up all in the top gotta cut around that circle which will be interesting i convinced kate that we have enough time to do shipwreck and now i'm concerned that we don't have a time so here we go let's go [Music] all right let's go upstairs make sure i measured correctly please i might have to take the toilet off no who gave me these measurements right should i measure this did i measure this tada see that's why i said let's go upstairs and see if they fit but you get the idea okay guys this is a little kit that we have put together to drop off social distancing style to the lebron i'm going to run and place this by their front door and then text savannah and say your diy is waiting for you normally we do a diy project with the youtubers that we do these omg we're coming over episodes with and since we can't do something in person with the library at fam i am making some cute little kits to drop off social distancing style at their door that they can do in the safety of their house in here we have white paint black paint and then these bowls we also have these natural smaller wooden balls and we also have this arc that goes together like this and it's going to be a soccer mobile when we talked to cole about what he wanted in the room he said soccer and savannah was like ew no i didn't want it too sporty like not all all soccer i grew up playing soccer and obviously i'm not all out there that has like super boy super this i'm just gonna let them do what they want but hey i like soccer so if uh soccer can be incorporated that'd be super cool so their assignment is going to be paint the rest of these into soccer ball status and then follow the diagram that we are going to include in a little note to put back together this mobile those soccer balls take a long time so well it is kind of like we'll see how their skills are i think they got this i hope [Music] [Applause] we're also sanitizing everything before we drop it off don't worry guys we are very neurotic about all of this oh yeah i packed up these kids with clean hands we're taking the safety of them and us and everyone really seriously all right six feet away mr kate gave us a design to do they hooked us up with two projects that we're gonna try today oh yeah we have clues open that up and read it let's see what it says so this is for the movie right now i see soccer balls in here soccer oh step one paint wooden balls with provided paint refer to examples that we painted to help guide you oh okay i'm so bad at this kind of stuff i'm really good you're good you can help me out yes we have to copy this oh my i don't know how they're designing an entire room from scratch essentially because they all they needed us to do is like paint these little soccer balls and put them on string and we could not do it we're so bad look at that guys everybody's better than i am at this oh shoot try to guess which one's mine really look close to the details okay she just dropped the white paint on the ground and i'll make dress oh oh oh okay okay wait how do you paint a circle because then you have to touch it you know what i mean yeah i know you mean all right so we have this ship lap installed here in the bathroom which looks so cool like let's just look at this all right the ship lap is up it is looking so good i'm so glad we were able to do this now it just needs a beautiful dark navy color to set it off so i am going to be painting today savannah said that she wanted the color blue in there but we're bringing in a really sophisticated kind of gray blue it's going on beautifully it looks so good and then this wallpaper that we are installing it has that kind of like safari s print but it's done with watercolor so it has like a softness to it all right we've made a lot of progress in here we got paint on the wall we're gonna let that all dry we're gonna come back tomorrow we're gonna keep working we have a lot to do still in this space and we're also doing their movie theater [Music] [Laughter] so we knew that this project was going to be a big project we're doing two rooms we're trying to do it social distancing styles stay really safe so they're also not in la they're not in la they're about an hour or so outside of la so we decided to get an airbnb very close by to their house the reason we're doing that and not staying in the airstream is because well hey we're doing it for two weeks but we also have my mom and my sister coming up to stay with us to help with moon and also help with the design and stuff so it's a whole family affair so while joey's at the librant fans house working on the rooms i'm at home with moon and i am working on some custom artwork for the nursery and the nursery bathroom and this is actually my first time drawing slash painting on a tablet it's really fun i'm doing these kind of combo sketches and watercolors of animal busts and if you will notice the unique thing that all of these animals have in common is they are wearing soccer jerseys i just thought it would be a really fun way to subtly bring in cole's love of soccer and also bring in the animal artwork that savannah wanted in a combined way [Music] all right so for the portal project kate cut out these beautiful round circles the porch the hole the porthole the porthole still not quite there yep okay so i'm just gonna put some edging on this plywood so it has a nice like finished edge sand them down and then we're going to paint it a beautiful white which will offset against the navy color that we have on the ship lap it's just going to look so nautical and so cute in there all right so i'm going to let this dry i got it all glued down and in the meantime i'm gonna go install the vanity [Music] oh my gosh we have these linen shears they look so good weed curtains on the outer it's like just so cozy the texture's in here so curtains are really important in a baby's room and we are bringing in a double rod with beautiful linen shears that are going closest to the window light filtering and then blackout curtains on the outer rod how good does this light look i know i love that cake send me a or send me hand me one of the bulbs i mean this fixture is so cool and the natural series led clear glass bulb just sets the whole thing off hit the light switch hit the light switch [Music] okay cringy time so if you guys are new to our channel this is something that we do in all of our rooms that have rugs whoa okay so this is like already a thick rug and we have it on a thick bread pad it's gonna be so nice and mushy so this rug is beautiful it's got beautiful natural textures going on wait can we just have a texture moment because textures and nurseries are so important because it's all about like the feeling of things right little babies so look at this beautiful soft texture with all these natural fibers it's going to be cozy for them to sit and play on baby delay on all that stuff and we are cuddling on it we don't have moon in here today he's outside playing with grammy maybe playing with the pig oh it's so exciting that she's about to have a new baby i know i can't believe it oh i have to put the artwork on the wall i'm so excited with armor okay bro cuddles looks baby good baby happy baby happy baby this is the yoga pose for happy baby happy baby okay oh gosh i'm too old for that jelly this one is a little bit crooked does it look straight now yeah it looks perfect and these are like mounted so securely for babies even though these are also lightweight frames but oh my gosh so cool but how cute is it that they're wearing soccer jerseys you don't realize how good you are but those are really cute oh thank you no they were really fun to make and i think the key when you're making animal artwork especially for a nursery is to keep them very like kind looking in the eyes because these are gonna be little animals that are staring at this you know baby growing baby and you want them to be like friendly animals i've got this soccer mobile the safari soccer team this is like such a customized nursery okay styling of the dresser so this room was too small to do a separate changing table and dresser so we're doing a combined dresser changing table which is what we have at home and it's a great way to also have the dresser be transitionary because once you get out of diapers you just take the changing basket off and it's just a beautiful dresser [Music] all right so this is obviously a nursery so we need to bring in a crib yes and the crib is kind of a mid-century inspired design and there's a two-tone happening on it there's white and then natural wood posts which just look really cool and i think add to just the kind of texture play that we're doing in there against the wayne scotting we're bringing in a rocking chair in the corner this room is petite so we had to bring in a petite chair i love that it has like a wood frame but it's still comfy with the white cotton of the seat and the backing and then of course we have a poof gotta have a poop and the poof is a roaming poof it can be a footstool a roman poof it's a roaming poof like it roams around and then next to it we have some baskets with toys and a really soft comfy blanket we've got a beautiful striped linen sheet for the crib and we're styling it just simply with a stuffed giraffe pillow a little swaddle over the side and oh my gosh it's just so chic i love on the wall we did little hooks that you placed fish netting on well i mean i couldn't pass up it's just a simple cotton net it looks like a fishing net which is good because it's like it goes with the theme no for sure and what's great about using one of these nets on hooks is you can really easily stash toys in it so it becomes this little like wall pocket in the corner we're putting a really cool three bulb light fixture situation yeah very like mid-century inspired really beautiful fixture and of course we've got the beautiful warm light bulbs on in there as well [Music] we've put our seagull captain in a beautiful gold frame kind of playing with like an old-school looking ship vibe there that's going over the toilet and then we've just got some simple vases with flowers of course the towels and all those things are happening as well and i think that this whole nursery suite is ready oh so we're about to go into the nursery room i'm so excited i'm so excited as we told you guys before the room was just nothing so anything is going to be exciting do you have any expectations i really don't like i know she's gonna do a great job but like anything she does i feel like i'm just gonna love i know i know i'm ready to get my mind blown all right so it's time for the reveal obviously we're doing things differently this time social distancing style we've gone through the room and disinfected everything we even have like one of those uv wands that you like put over the furniture that basically disinfects like porous surfaces hard surfaces we've all been really good about sanitizing and washing our hands and obviously we usually do these reveals in the space with the people we lead them in we count down and we reveal so we're bummed that we can't be in the space with them but we're making the most we're excited that we finish and they get to see it at least before the baby comes so we're gonna stand outside we have some cameras on the walls in there and we're going to watch on the monitor as the lebran family checks out their space you guys excited don't go in the room until we tell you we can go up to the end just pause [Music] now you guys remember what the room looked like do you remember what the room looked like oh yeah [Music] all right so your new baby coming very kind of stuff right so you you like the look of molding but you also like the look of wallpaper so we wanted to give you both oh my gosh okay kate drew all those paintings she painted all those and if you look closely cole what are they wearing wow that is some signature touches oh my gosh i think this is my new favorite room i'm just going to come in here and see yeah partner's going to hang out here almost a day now oh my goodness i'm obsessed with the room it's so cute they incorporated soccer they did thank goodness but obviously not too much we really loved like how cute she she did all the drawings but then she incorporated like soccer the little details on the animals the little cute i love the crap in the bathroom we couldn't not do the bathroom oh my gosh so cool [Music] oh my gosh can you come do my whole house that's happening oh my gosh so yeah the room is incredible but then we turn the corner and we go into the bathroom and it's almost slight boat themed where the window is like a boat window and there's obviously like a seagull that looks like it's a captain of some sort it was just like a very plain nothing going on in the bathroom oh yeah beforehand nothing so it's just so cool there's like a whole adventure theme in there you've got like the safari animals and the nursery you've got the kind of ship theme happening in the bathroom baby z is very excited about this room because i think he's coming any minute now he's been kicking so much he's super low i'm just feeling so many braxton hicks um he's excited he's ready to come out in that baby room oh yeah wow looks so good so cute thank you guys so much this is your hair we are so thankful to mr kate this was so much fun they did such a good job we can't thank them enough we wish we could have given them the biggest hugs we're just so obsessed with the room um and then the best part is there's another room that they're doing in our house and that's going to be a whole video for you guys so our movie room our movie room we're so so excited thank you mr kate you guys blew us up you guys rock they love it oh my gosh they love it oh wow you know what this room was so important because like so they're welcoming a new baby she's almost about to give birth i remember those like last couple weeks of being pregnant you are just like so ready to get the baby out i mean i think she's also relieved because it's like she has her nursery done like she was probably scared like are we gonna be able to actually get this nursery done before the baby comes yeah and they love it cole like was super excited about it and the soccer plays in there and like he totally noticed the soccer jerseys on the animals which i was so happy about so yeah i feel like he feels that his love of soccer is represented in that space and then obviously the style was mostly dictated by savannah and she seems to love it and then the girls love it too so the whole family loves it also huge thanks to the We were right about all the blue lol. It’s pretty cute but I’m curious: do these YouTube interior designers buy stuff like the bedding and stuffed animals etc? I feel like it wouldn’t be that way but with the Bucket List Family, it seemed like their person bought all that stuff. Would the family reimburse the designer?
