called a silver anniversary album and on this album we placed 8 of our most popular songs down through the years the old ship resign I've made a reservation shake hands of the poor boy and Beulah land and and some more songs and on it we placed a couple of new songs here's one of it one of the songs were gonna sing right now but in that 25 years the Kingsmen travelled 125,000 miles every year we sung in 250 days 250 to 260 concerts our churches or programs every year which we sung in every major city in the United States of America Hawaii Canada and I tell you what God's been awful good to us I tell you we started out singing and singing part time and singing on weekends and one Sunday morning down in Iowa South Carolina in 1971 we dedicated the songs and the singing to Jesus and ever since that day he's blessed us far more than we deserve just a bunch of country boys from the mountains of North Carolina and we don't claim to be the world's greatest singers but we do claim Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and I wouldn't take nothing for that I'm gonna be moving here we go [Music] now this whole world's a place little not enough care not enough given sometimes time to sin was sixteen and a half years old I had to teach him how to don't pick you know yeah I'm not gonna go through all that he's been voted the number one piano player for the past four years on the industry would you welcome the king of the keyboard Anthony Berger Tony Berger there's none better our band over here six foot six 300 and 200 and I don't know how big he is but he's got to have his own zip code I can tell you that would you welcome Gary Devin ladies and gentlemen big carrier drummer boy that's been with the Kingsmen since he was 13 years old and I want to tell you right now speaking from experience there's nothing any worse in the whole wide world than a 13 year old drummer they will drive you absolutely bananas crazy beating on them things kids come but his father owns the Kingsmen you get the point now and for me to have a job sweetiepie there had to have a job but he's done a great job he's 21 years old now plays bass plays drums loves the Lord we couldn't get along without him there's none finer Greg Fox ladies and gentleman good great come on out here bones now girls this one here is 21 years old he's not married 6 foot 4 85 pounds if you want a fiancée that's the skinny his pajamas have just got one strike so skinny through here that his Levi's just got one pocket in them in the back he's what you're after does a great job playing the bass singing would you welcome this is a bonafide Blue Ribbon top-drawer a number one hillbilly from sandy mush North Carolina what about if either ice author rice [Applause] world's oldest living fossil of a bass singer traveled with the Blackwood brothers in a covered wagon tuned the first guitar for the chuck wagon gang in 1920 now we got him from the nursing home today got him cleaned up got his oxygen tanks refilled got him ready to go would you welcome the Dean of the bass singers a raytrace ray Dean Reese I found the beef my ex-boss Eldridge Fox Fox a double Mehcad Crawford ladies and gentlemen began now this darling has been with the Kingsmen since November Ernie Phillips that did such a great job with us for almost seven years turned his notice in the first of September he had to cook traveling had a tragedy at home and he lost the young son four and a half years on very unexpectedly and we had to find somebody to sing tenor and the boy after the Ernie attorneys noticing I had two nervous breakdowns in a heart attack and we finally we started looking around for a tenor now they're hard to find somebody that looks like a man it sounds like a girl you know I mean you you just can't find him everywhere and we looked all over and audition people and a couple of guys came up to the mountains to try out and and tried to sing to hide and just turn blue and passed out and ol dad had to get down and give him mouth-to-mouth and then get him back breathing and it's just terrible I didn't know what was gonna do is it the quartet convention in October on the Monday night and I made the announcement from the stage that we needed a tenor singer and I was sitting out there at our record table on Monday night nobody came by Monday Tuesday Wednesday nobody came by Thursday night I was sitting out there just minding my own business and I heard I heard you looking for a tenor I wasn't about to turn around we just got back from California not seen all that I wanted to see ya fed up with that finally got my nerve up and turned around ugly Oh ugliest kid had hair down to here had a mustache that looked like a ball team nine hairs on each side just growing every whichaway look like a cross between Farrah Fawcett and mr. t when I looked at I finally we got him shaved and got him a haircut got to talk he's written 350 songs loves the Lord does a great job singing and one other thing ladies he is not married he's never been married now of course authors never been married but the way you look buddy your records gonna stay clear you don't have to worry you don't have to sweat but now this one right here 25 years old now he's never been married now this as some other lady hadn't had him for two three years and messed him up you know you can just get him and raise him just like you won't even train him he's got a brand new Mazda he's got a little money in the bank he's got a good job he'll be able to support you if you're interested in him he has some applications going to like it none then I'm going to call the rehearsal about three times a week we're gonna have ray and drag back there build its world's biggest PA set I'm gonna put the speakers right on top of my mansion and Buddy we're going to sing for a million years just as high and loud and hard as we can sing because the voices and the bodies and the minds and the spirits won't get tired anymore they won't get tired we won't get weary the voices will just keep going higher and higher boy I'm looking forward to that that's something to get excited about we don't get excited enough anymore we call these old coal dead churches and sit down Sunday morning they give us a menu when we come through the door that preacher brings that little sermon he got from the seminary Cemetery seminary and oh here we go about 45 minutes of play in church and then it's down to the dinette after a sermon it for all the Christian heads but I tell you one thing God's alive and Jesus Saves and I'm holding my way to heaven tonight and I'm proud of it I can tell you that right that little that little sermon didn't cost you nothing extra that's just part of the meal but I tell you one thing though I'll tell you what we believe in old-time religion our nation our schools our country has gotten away from that would rather would rather compromise than to fight the school systems and the government won't get
