THE KAYLEIGH HAYWOOD CASE

so today's video is going to be another salt true-crime kiss and I know you guys hit when I apologize Here I am apologizing oh my god I know it's been a while since I uploaded but I went to summer in the city which by the way was the best weekend of my life thank you so much to every single person that can that came to the meet and greets that came to the panel honestly best weekend of my entire life was meeting you guys in person but I lost my voice so much shocking like I wasn't ill I know you guys are like she's ill all the time I wasn't ill I just wore my voice out so much that weekend literally speaking to you all from like 12:00 until evening every single day like my voice was broken so I've just been sent home drinking like honey and lemon Walter oh wait to get my voice back so I can film but yeah we're back I'm gonna try not to lose my voice again this weekend so today we're going to be doing another channel member suggested kiss so thank you so much - probably Alice for this care suggestion today we're going to be talking about Kaylie Heywood but quickly before we get into it I just want to give my usual disclaimer that I mean absolutely no disrespect to anyone that I talk about in this video this video is for educational purposes and everything that I'm about to say is just information that I have found on the internet and I'm compiling into one video so Kaylee Heywood was a 15 year old girl born in August of 2000 in Leicestershire I don't know specifically where Kaylee lived in Leicestershire but I know the nearest town to her was called ape stock and if stock was known for just being a really nice safe place to live everyone knew each other it was very aesthetically nice everyone that lived there took pride in their homes and their gardens it had low crime rates it was really friendly it was just known as a really really nice place to live that's not exactly where Kaylee left but she lived just outside of there however in stock is important to this video Kaylee was one of seven children - her parents Stephanie and Martin so as you can imagine there was a lot going on in that house every single day and Kalin loved it she loved having a big family she loved all of the siblings she was particularly very close to her youngest sister and her mother Stephanie she was just a very family-oriented person candy was known for being very bubbly very outgoing she didn't have the biggest group of friends but she was very social and the friends that she did have were really really close and just like pretty much every other teenager at that time in 2015 and still now Kayleigh was absolutely glued to her phone and social media her favorite social media are the one that she used the most was Facebook she was always uploading new pictures posting statuses she was in group chats talking with her friends messaging people sending friend requests received Infirmary quest she was very social online and I don't know how much or the people can relate to this I know I can when I was like 15 I didn't know half the people on my friends list on Facebook I just kind of accepted anyone that wanted to be friends with me I just liked being friends with people and so did Carrie she didn't really know everyone on her friends list at that age I can only speak for myself I can't speak for Kayleigh obviously but I wasn't thinking very logically about it I wasn't thinking why does this shirt you want to be friends with me I was just thinking this stranger wants to be friends with me okay cool let's let's be friends and that is exactly what happened to Kelly here would on October 31st of 2015 she received a friend request on facebook from someone that she didn't recognize she didn't recognize the picture or the name or anything and it was a boy when well and man a 27 year old grown man in blue collar and clearly probably not thinking much of it just accepted Luke's friend request put the phone down whatever and then her phone buzzed again it was her new friend Lou Carla sending her message the message said hi how are you and Kelly was a little bit on guard at this point she didn't just jump straight in this conversation well she kind of did she said hi here were you and Luke replied that they had a lot of mutual friends they had a lot of the same friends like friends of friends he was a friend of one of Kelly's friends and he just thought she was really beautiful he came across a profile and thought he would add her he pointed out how close the two of them lived to each other he lived in the town of M stock and Kelly obviously I don't know why she lived but it was just outside of stock and he said he wanted to get to know her a bit more and Kayleigh was flattered by this this guy was calling a beautiful he was saying he wanted to get to know where and she was 15 years old she was going through that fears where you just kind of like wanting your first boyfriend you want to get into a relationship like you kind of starting to notice boys at school and when you're 15 you're also starting to get a little bit rebellious this was an older man she didn't at this point know quite how old he was he was 27 but obviously he looked older in his pictures this was an older man he was showing her some attention and she liked it and so the two of them began messaging over the next few days backwards and forwards he was flirting she was kind of flirting back a little bit and the compliments just kept building and building and building he was calling a beautiful saying she was a princess he would say things like how are you still single like someone so beautiful I bet you have all the boys after year like how are you not in a relationship yet and Kayleigh never really fully accepted these compliments whenever he would call her beautiful she would say like oh no I'm not and this just kind of made him compliment or even more like yes you are you're studying you're gorgeous you're this you're that and not to get like sciency I never really talked about science too much in my videos but him message in her own compliments in her own stuff is building up her confidence and self-esteem and she's kind of getting addicted to these compliments because it releases chemicals it releases dopamine our you know their happiness chemicals and she likes it and every single time she gets that dopamine release she relates that to Luke and she wants to go back to him and she wants to talk to him or she doesn't necessarily like Luke she just likes the compliment whenever she was upset or angry if she'd got into a fight with a sibling or a friend and our family member or something she'd go to him he would comfort her he would take her side he would just make her feel better he was like her security blanket type thing he just made her feel so special and so beautiful and there was so much it's a mixture of like the male attention but also the rebellious Ness of this whole of the world on her phone where there's an older man interested in that no one knows about it because it's on her phone so like I said Luke Harlow was 27 years old and in one of the very early messages he asked Kelly Hayward how old she was and she lied about her age she told him that she was 19 because she knew that he was older she didn't know exactly how old he was but she knew that he was older and she knew that she had to be over 18 so she said that she was 19 four years older than she actually was she was 15 and Luke also lied about his age not too much he just said he was one year younger than he actually was he said it was 26 but a 26 year old and a 19 year old age gap is not the biggest and it's also not illegal it's still quite a gap but for two consenting adults that's their decision to make if they're happy whatever but that's not the case of course literally just a couple of days into the two of them talking Kelly posted a picture with her friends of them all in their school uniform and obviously a 19 year old wouldn't have a school uniform so Luke confronted Kelly about this and she just came clean she said she was actually 15 and instead of blocking her on friend dinner Julie in the messages you know he decided that he would continue this online relationship that he and Kelly were having but now they just had to be more secretive about it he told her that the only way that they could continue talking was if it was their little secret and she couldn't tell anyone she couldn't tell her parents couldn't tell her friends and he would say things to her like if you tell anyone that we're talking I'm gonna get in big trouble I'm gonna get locked up blah blah blah so he knew that this was wrong of course he knew that this was wrong but he was using that to scare Kelly into not telling but this online relationship didn't stay online for very long literally within hours of the first messages Luke was already hinting at meeting up although obviously right then there wasn't any set plans and then within a few days of messaging he was then suggesting the plans more explicitly like I want to meet you come to my house like let's meet up his first suggestion was that Kaley comes round to his house and they have a really kind of typical cute first day they were gonna have a movie night and he was gonna get snacks in and then we're gonna cuddle and it was gonna be really cute obviously it's not cute - what was knowing about the age gap and everything like Luke's intentions but to ceilidh that would have seemed really nice and so she agreed to that she said yeah I'd loved her and then as the plumbs kept progressing Luke said well why don't we get a bottle of vodka why don't we get drunk and this only added to the excitement for Kaley she was doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing drinking with someone she wasn't supposed to be doing it with an older man and she just felt really grown-up so the two of them agreed on a date that Kaley would go to Luke's house and they would have this like movie night with alcohol they decided on November 13 2015 which was exactly two weeks after Luke sent that first message in their messages Luke suggested to Kelly that she lie about where she was staying obviously her parents weren't gonna let her stay at a stranger's house let alone a man that was 12 years older than her and so Kaley told her parents that she was going to be staying at a friend's house a friend that they knew they'd met this friend before so they wouldn't be suspicious and then just let her go on the day that Caylee was going to meet Luke she got her parents to drop her in the car park at the local leisure center I'm guessing that she might have told the parents that the friend had a swimming lesson and that she was just gonna meet her there and then they were going to go to this friend's house but of course her parents just dropped her in the car park and never knew where she went there is CCTV footage of Kelly here would being dropped in that car park that day and I don't know if it's public because I have a seen it and I haven't like seen it in any document trees or anything like that all I've seen is investigators describing the footage so I'm not sure if it's public however she gets dropped off in this car park she wears until her parents carries out of sight and then she walks down the road so she doesn't wait there for anyone presumably she begins to walk into Lu Carla's house so on the Friday night Kaylee Hayworth was at Lu Carla's house and she was posted on social media as she always had she was taking photos she was posting statuses nothing seemed amiss she didn't seem distressed at all she seemed like she was having fun to be fair the next day around lunchtime on the Saturday so she will have gone to bed and woke up and everything Carrie's mother Stephanie received a text message from Kelly's for asking her she could stay at this friend's house another night and Kelly's mother believing that she was happy and safe and with this friend that she knew Stephanie said yeah of course and so Kelly stood at Lu Carla's house one more night the following morning on the Sunday a local builder was just walking down the road by Lu Carla's house when he found a smashed iPhone on the floor and so he picked it up to see whose it was like try and get into it try and get it back to the owner so this guy went on to the recent call log and called the last number that this phone had called hoping that he could obviously get it back to the person through their friend so he calls this number and a teenage girl answers the phone it was Kelly here woods friend this man had found Kelly here woods phone smashed on the floor so this builder just informed the friend that he'd found this phone smashed on the floor where he'd found it and everything and this friend didn't recognize the area that the Builder said that he found the phone and besides it's weird that Kaylee's phone would be just on the floor smashed somewhere anywhere and so as soon as this friend got off the phone with the Builder she rang Stephanie Kelly's mother and just informed her that Kelly's phone had been found when Kelly's mother received the phone call from this friend she was very confused because this friend it was actually the friend that Kayleigh said she was staying with and Stephanie says this to the friend but the friends like nah sorry I haven't seen Kelly since school on Friday so now Stephanie is panicking her daughter is not where she said she was gonna be for the past two days and her phone was found smashed on a road that she doesn't recognize so she immediately knew that something was wrong and so she called 999 to report Kayleigh missing the police came around to Stephanie's house immediately and just started asking questions about Kayleigh her daily routine like people she might know you know just getting a feel for the situation I'm one of the first questions they asked was just clearly have any social media obviously she was a teenage girl most of them do and that could have been a huge clue as to where she was teenagers update social media all the time like sometimes even before they update their parents on certain things they've already written a status about it so immediately they seized Kelly's laptop and the phone that was found and they began looking through them looking through her messages all her posts from over the weekend on first inspection of Kelly's profile nothing really seemed amiss like I said all her photos seemed fine she was posting statuses up until Saturday night like everything seemed normal and that is when police began looking at her private messages and immediately the first one that stuck out to them was Luke ala an older man way older than Kelly and Luke's profile really did show his difference in age from Kelly he didn't have his edge on his profile obviously he was trying to hide it from caring but Kelly's was very typical teenage girl she had liked pictures with her friends and statuses and song lyrics and stuff like that whereas Luke's had a lot of like drink and drugs and adult-themed jerks and their difference in age was just very emphasised by their different profiles and so police were immediately confused as to why these two people were connected because they didn't seem to have anything in common so as police will look in through the messages it became very clear what kind of relationship the two of them had the messages were very flirty there were a lot of kisses on the end and love hearts and stuff and one message that stood out to police immediately was one that Luke sent to Kelly saying can i kidnap you forever so immediately some police officers went outside Luke Carla while the rest of them were still going through these messages and back at the police station police arrived at Luke Carla's house pretty much within the hour of seizing Kelly's phone it was that serious they realized that he must have been a big part of this and so they were there within the hour and Kelly wasn't at his house although he did let them in like you didn't have a problem speaking to them or anything immediately of course they asked him do you know Kayla hey would like have you seen it recently and he didn't even try and lie he was like yes she was here on Friday she stayed over on Friday she was here most of the day on Saturday but then she left live now Luke even told police that she left a few of her belongings there and he handed them over to police he thought that she would be coming back on the Sunday but obviously she never came back and he was particularly interested in Caylee spawn and where they'd found it and they had been looked on it yeah which was very weird like police noted that down immediately sir I don't believe they arrested him at this point but they did take him down to the police station for a proper question in like getting to run through the whole weekend the whole timeline and as he was he actually revealed to police that he and Kaley weren't alone on Saturday night the night that she went missing Luke said that in his flat that night there was him and Caylee obviously but also his neighbor Stephen Beeman Luke's version of events is that Kelly and Stephen left the house that night he didn't know where they went he didn't remember exactly what time it was and he waited around for them to get back for like an hour but then he thought well they can just let themselves back in whenever they come back and he decided to go to bed he then said he woke up the next morning and they still there so he thought maybe they just went back to Stephens house instead maybe they came back so late that they didn't want to disturb Luke and so that would explain why he still had a lot of Kaylee's items when police came to question it so police are obviously still suspicious of Luke at this point but now they're even more worried because there is a second older man in this situation that Caylee was supposedly alone with that night so police began trying to find Stephen beefing but he wasn't at his house he wasn't at his workplace and they couldn't find him anywhere for hours police eventually found Stephen B demon at I believe a friend's house or a relative's house someone's house he was there but Kaley wasn't so police now decided to officially arrest Luke ala and Steven Bateman on suspicion of kidnap so in Luke haleh's questioning he was asked how he originally connected with Kaley online obviously at this point police already read all the messages but he didn't know that Luke ala didn't know the police had read everything or at least they were making their way through everything but police could tell from the messages that they hadn't spoken before Beck's obviously Kaley asked who he was and like he explained it so it was very clear that that chat log was their first ever conversation but they just wanted to see what Luke would say and why they connected annoyingly I can't put any of the police questioning videos in this video because they're copyrighted which is oh he makes me so mad because now instead I'm just gonna have to try and quote them and summarize them and describe them as much as I possibly can I mean they are online so Luke Halle was asked how he and Kaley originally connected on Facebook like how they became friends how the messages came about and he was very hesitant at first he was earning a lot and then he said he couldn't remember who added him first but it was a random art he told police that he just had a bunch of random people on Facebook anyway he had quite a bad habit of just accepting people even though he didn't reckon although police obviously knew this whole time that he was the one that sent her the friend request he was the one that messaged her first they just kind of wanted to get him to say it Luke then said that once they were connected once they were friends they started messaging just beyond hi how are you every so often but police knew it was a lot deeper than that it got really deep really quickly with these two so almost straightaway in his questioning police noticed that Luke Harlow was using a lot of body language a lot of hand gestures a lot of movement to express himself and we've talked about this before in videos but a lot of like excessive hand gestures and movement and everything like that is consistent with telling a story I like it trying to make himself seem so much more confident in what he's saying so that the police will believe him better of course that's not an indicator of whether someone is lying or not but I mean you know it's interesting and yeah as he was telling this story he just pretty much said the same as what he said to police back at his house the caelian Stephen left that night he went to bed and he didn't know where they went or what they did that night he doesn't know where Kelly is now he doesn't know where Stephen is now meanwhile in Stephen Biederman's questioning everything was a little bit different from his point of view steamin Beamen said that he got involved in this whole situation when luke allah knocked on Stephens door at half past 7:00 on Saturday evening so Luke knocked on Stephens door and just asked him if he had any like lemonade or Cola like any mixes that he could put with alcohol and Stephen told him no sorry I don't have anything why do you need it and Luke said because I've got a bird around for people that aren't from the UK a bird is someone that you a girl that you have romantically involved with are one that you want to be romantically involved with so yeah Luke described Kaley as a bird to Stephen and said that they got drunk last night which was the Friday night and that they were game rekt again on Saturday he said the word wrecked that's not just me being really informal in this video so anyway somehow Stephen Bateman ends up round at Lou Carla's house and he's drinking with him and Kayleigh and now this is where Stephen Beeman's version of events differs completely from Luke's so Luke said that Stephen and Kelly went out and so he decided to go to bed Stephens version of events was that he was drinking with them for about four hours and they've already been drinking at this point and he said that the two of them Luke and Caylee especially Kaley got so drunk that they couldn't even hold a conversation anymore Caylee was slurring her words she couldn't even sit up she can barely even keep her eyes open and so Stephen Beeman got bored these two couldn't talk to him anymore and so he decided to go home and left Caylee there with Lou so now we have two men telling two different stories each of them saying that the other one was the last to see Caylee so obviously at least one of them is lying if not both of them so now police had to find some real evidence so the search for Caylee began and there were hundreds of officers out just like manually searching walking around looking for Caylee on foot police knew that this was a very very time-sensitive case and if Caylee was still out there somewhere they needed to find her quick she could be injured really quite badly she was without food and water obviously because if she was kidnapped and held somewhere the two people that kidnapped her and now in police custody so no one's gonna be giving her anything they knew they had to find her quickly and so the manpower that police put into this investigation was unreal they had helicopters they had sniffer dogs they had police out on foot like I said and it wasn't long before they found their first lead in a park very close to Lou Carla's house on the top of like some other growths and plants whatever a brow was found and it was very obvious to police right away that this bra had not been there long it wasn't effective whether it wasn't dirty it was pretty much in pristine condition It was as if someone had literally put it bad that day so police took this bra back to the police station and kept it as evidence and when they brought in Stephanie Kelly's mother she confirmed that that was her daughter's bra and this only added to the fear and the stress on police because it was obvious that something must have happened to Kelly she was not gonna take off her bra and just leave it in a bush so the investigation was stepped up even more than before and there was something in the range of 500 police officers assigned to this one case and of course it wasn't just police either there were volunteers there was Kelly's friends and family and everyone all out looking for her at this point police was still looking through the messages between Luke and Kelly on Facebook because there were two weeks worth of messages and they were messaging 24/7 non-stop so there was there were thousands to go through and the more they read the more concern in this situation was getting Luke was very sexual with Kelly even knowing her age he would describe things that he wanted to do to her and everything and when paired with this situation a missing girl obviously missing her bra that seemed to have been ditched somewhere it wasn't looking good at all like I said right at the beginning of the video Kelly did lie about her age to Luke when they first started speaking he thought he was talking to a 19 year old but she was actually 15 and that was when the sexual comments began when he thought that she was over the age of 18 and everything was okay however then he did find out that she was 15 very quickly after but the comments didn't stop they got worse if anything they got more and more explicit more and more frequent and police believe this was because she was now off-limits it was something that he couldn't have so he wanted it more at this point police had seized Lu Carla's phone and electronics and everything and when they compared the messages like the messages between him and Kaylee from Kelly's phone and his phone Kaylee's phone had thousands more messages on it and his only had something like 500 and police found that Lu kala had deleted all of the messages on his phone that contained anything incriminating anything about her edge anything about meeting up anything about sex so police found that there was no activity from Kayla here woods phone as of 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night she puts no more photos no more statuses no more texts or messages or anything her thorn just kind of stopped at 9:00 p.m. so they assumed that something must have happened to her around that time because this wasn't a natural cutoff point for Kaylee Kaylee would often be on her mobile phone until 11:00 12:00 sometimes even the early hours of the morning as with most teenagers she was pretty much like surgically attached to this barn like she was addicted to a thorn she wasn't just gonna stop using it at night here there were charges in Luke's house he had internet there was nothing stopping her from using her phone so as part of this investigation police began speaking with Steven Beeman's friends family anyone that knew him just to kind of get more of an idea about his life and one of his family members are actually told police that Steven Bateman owned a storage locker you know like we can just put a bunch of stuff and just keep it there out of your house now let's give police a little bit of hope because if the men had kept Kaylee alive and she was just kidnapped and she was just being held somewhere this seemed like a pretty promising place that she would be so as soon as police got to the storage lockup place they began speaking to staff and they found that Stephen Beeman had actually beamed to his storage locker at 2:00 p.m. on the Sunday so the day after Kaylee went missing and he was actually seen on CCTV at this storage locker place he drove up in his van to his storage locker and just stuck that in his van for a while and I don't believe CCTV caught and doing anything whether the CCTV camera like moves and by the time it came back he was still sat in his car or whether he just didn't do anything I don't know as soon as police found out that Stephen Beeman had this storage locker they actually went shrit away and this was at 3 a.m. in the morning so they had to call up the guy that on this like storage facility and saying will you come and unlock like this guy's locker with the master cakes obviously there's one key that opens all of them and so they did all of this at 3:00 in the morning and when they initially got into Steven Beeman's locker Cayley wasn't there and it didn't seem like it was gonna be much help in the investigation it was pretty tidy in there there was literally just like furniture or whatever he was keeping in this locker there was nothing like thrown in there so it didn't look like he'd been in a rush and he was trying to dispose of things no obvious weapon nothing like that so police began looking at the surrounding area because we know that Steven Beeman went there but maybe he was sat in his van maybe that's why he was sat there so long because he was thinking if I put something in this locker they're gonna find it straightaway it's really obvious so police began to look around the area they were looking between the lockers behind the lockers outside of the front gates as well there was a skip obviously for people that want to just like get rid of anything in their lockers there was a skip there and so police went and looked through it and pretty close to the top of this skip there was women's clothing and a handbag once again police took these items back to the police station and Stephanie Kelly's mother confirmed that they were her daughters now at this point police were very doubtful that they would find Kaley haywood alive because they had most of her clothes most of her belongings and no sign of her and both of the men that were with her that night were lying or at least one of them was they both have different stories which meant that something happened that someone was trying to cover up and this was only made worse when police interviewed a bunch of Luke and Stevens neighbors to see if they heard or saw anything that night and several of them had a lot of different people heard screaming and banging and one neighbor in particular actually saw something the people that heard noises just kind of assumed it was a group of drunk people because that wasn't out of the ordinary to hear people running around and shouting on their way home from a night out this was at like 3:00 in the morning and the neighbor that saw something Billie that he was just seeing a domestic argument domestic fight between a couple it was a man and a woman a young woman the man pinned down this woman and that is where the neighbor saw it from this guy was pinning this woman down on the floor they were talking are like shouting and then he finally let her up and started to walk away but this woman this girl stood on the floor and so the man walked back over to her grabbed her helped her up and they held hands walking away and so this guy this neighbor that witnessed it just saw all well it was a domestic that made up whatever and so he went back in the house so the evidence of this eyewitness account was presented to Stephen Biederman police told him look we've got someone that's seen a couple a young girl and a man together shouting he pinned her down was that you and he denied either of those people being him or Caylee but during this questioning police noticed that Stephen Beeman had a lot of cuts and scratches on his arms and three very significant injuries on his face like his forehead nose and I think on his chin I don't know exactly what Stephen Beeman did for work well I know he worked outside and so police decided to go and check his workplace like speak to his co-workers see just see if they can find any more leads and that is exactly what they found as soon as they got to Stephen Beeman's workplace they walked into one of the fields and found an unlit bonfire so they were pretty much a bunch of materials a bunch of wood like firewood and it hadn't been lit yet and so police went over and kind of dismantled the whole thing to see if anything was in that pile of wood and there was there was a bin liner just a big black bin bag full of clothing that had blood all over it so this clothing was taken to the police station and it was found to be men's clothing with blood all over it like I said and so it was sent off to be tested and that blood was confirmed to be that a 15 year old Kayleigh Harewood now police had not only a missing girl and two men arrest for her kidnap but they'd also have found her blood on that clothing this was not looking like they were gonna find Kayleigh alive so now Luke Halle and Stephen bead man were both rear suspension of her murder rather than her kidnap now all police had to do was find her body and so because the men were really it was a fresh charge that they were given police decided to request in them because now it was more intense and because of the step-up in the charge Stephen Bateman decided to start telling the truth so before Stephen Beeman's story was that Kayleigh and Luke were too drunk to talk to him they were too drunk to form a conversation and so he just went home and left heard that but now Beaman was saying that actually he and Kayleigh decided to go out for a walk that night and they left Luke in the house and he also said that that couple that was seen having a domestic argument could have been him and Kelly he said that she was walking freely for the most part but he started to get annoyed with her because she was so drunk that she was stumbling and falling and he said that what the neighbor saw of this guy pinning her down was actually him kneeling by Kelly making sure that she was all right after she drunkenly fallen but anyway he helped her up in the end and they carried on walking he said that he was just pulling her about by a hand like to kind of control her a bit more because she was so drunk he said he didn't have any weapons or anything like that so in admitting this that he was with Kelly and that he was the person seen by the eyewitness he was not only admitting that he was alone with Caylee outside for a long time and there's no explanation after that but he's also admitting that he previously lied to police which doesn't look good so at this point police were pretty straightforward with Stephen B demon and they just said look it's not looking good for you they said you've lied you've been seen with her there's no explanation as to where she went after she was with you so whether he pled guilty or not he was probably gonna be found guilty anywhere so they left it to him they just said you can carry on this fixed re plead not guilty and get found guilty anywhere or you could plead guilty and get a lesser sentence for admitting it and that is exactly what Stephen Beeman chose to do he sat there and confessed to raping and murdering 15 year old Kelly Harewood he said that he left her body in like a field / wooded area and he pointed to a map where he left her and police went to go and look for her however this area that he left her was very overgrown like the grass was so tall it was gonna be really really hard to find it especially at this time of year it was November it was dark it was cold everything was covered in maybe snow or rain and because Stephen admitted to all of this on the Wednesday night it was already dark at this point but police knew that they had to go and find her as soon as possible but they couldn't get a proper search team together until the next morning obviously because no one was at work at this time so about four or five officers that were in the police station at the time said that they would go to this field on their own time in their own hours when they should have been at home with their families are in bed sleeping they went out to find Kelly and after searching this field this kind of wooded area for hours police finally found Kelly Haywood's body she was naked apart from one sock and she was laid in a very unnatural position it was obvious that she'd been like dumped there off the road there she was laid like half on her front half on her side like it's not like a natural fall and position and immediately it was very obvious that Kelly Harewood had suffered a brutal death it seemed as though she'd been bludgeoned to death she had a lot of injuries on her head there were a lot of wounds a lot of dried blood in her hair and there were a lot of injuries all over her hands and her arms from where she tried to defend herself so she was fighting until the end however at this point Lou Carla and Stephen Bateman did not want to talk Luke was denying being involved in this at all he was still sticking to his story that he was asleep and the two of them left and that was all he knew and Stephen Bateman wasn't really willing to elaborate on any more of his story so I don't know if we ever found out how exactly he killed her how many times he hit her because police believe that she was bludgeoned to death because Stephen just won't tell them and so everything from like here on is just pretty much police theory on what happened that night from like witnesses and the evidence and things like that so they believe that Caylee was the one that sent her mother that text on Saturday at lunchtime asking to stay another night they believe that Kelly had had a good weekend so far and she did want to stay another night however police believe that it got to a certain point in the night she was very drunk so was Luke so Stephen and Luke and Stephen made unwanted sexual passes at Caylee and police believe that Kelly kind of freaked out as you would and she decided to run from the house they believe that Kelly ran out of Luke Carlos home and down a few different roads where eventually Stephen beat men ran out and caught up to her and that is when he pinned her down and that was when this neighbor saw the two of them this person said that they believed it was a man and a woman on their way home from a night out because this woman was wearing either a dress or a top and a skirt so basically she had bare legs however police believe that this was clearly wearing one of the men's baggy t-shirts and she was just half dressed because they had tried to sexually assault her anyway police believe that feed men pinned her down to like shower or tell her to get back to the house or something like that and then he got up and started to walk away however she was still emotional on the floor obviously and so they believed that feed man walked back over to her pulled her up and held her hand as they walked back to Luke collars house what police don't believe they ever got to the house police do kind of believe Luke Arlo's version of events although they believe that he knew a lot more than he told police he knew but they believed that he didn't have anything to do with her murder he didn't know that that was gonna happen he wasn't part of the planning police believes that the two of them Stephen and Caylee set off back to Luke's house but some point actually turned round and went in a different direction Stephen then pointed out on a map a particular car park a few roads away from my Luke caller lived where he said that he ripped curly hair was he said the two of them then walked quite a fair walk to the woods kind of field area where he eventually killed and left Kelly's body within four days of Caylee Heywood's disappearance 28-year old Stephen Beeman was charged with her rape and murder 27 year-old Luke Harlow was charged with grooming and two counts of sexual activity with a child so that is the Caylee hair would kiss officially solved but police weren't fully satisfied they weren't done there they felt that Stephen Beeman did this far too effortlessly like he knew exactly what to do like it just seemed very methodical he didn't have any remorse he was quite good at lying and so police were worried that maybe he'd done this before so police began searching his home they seized all of his electronics his fall on his computer and everything and they began searching let his whole past for like a criminal record and while they didn't find any evidence of physical crimes on his computers on three different electronics so like phone computer in something else they found thousands of indecent images of children along with a search history of some very violent and graphic pornography and police theorized that these images were not enough to satisfy Stephen B demons kind of pedophilic urges that he had and the minute he got an opportunity to act out these urges on a child he did and clearly just happened to be that child so skip forward to June of the next year Stephen Bateman and Luke Haller are going to trial to be sentenced for these crimes and suddenly Stephen Bateman is very remorseful he doesn't want to hear the evidence to him he tried to hide in his cell so that he didn't have to go to trial he suddenly couldn't live with himself and his crimes as he shouldn't however Luke Haller seemed to be the complete opposite so if you watch quite a few of these videos you might know that people's lawyers like killers lawyers often tell them not to take the stand and give evidence at their own trial because it never really ends up well the prosecution always find a way to twist their words and use their own words against them it's never good if the person is trying to avoid being found guilty so if these killers want any chance of beating the case then the lawyers just tell them to stare quiet let them do the talking however the very kind of narcissistic and cocky killers tend to want to take the sound is like it's one last act of bravery in a way like one last big closing statement like I don't care and Luke Howard did exactly that and of course it only made him look worse it seemed as though Luke Halle was trying to gain sympathy for himself as if he was a victim his neighbor used him to get to Caylee his girlfriend but he didn't once come across sympathetic for his girlfriend and I say this because she wasn't his girlfriend blue collar was of course found guilty of his grooming charges and his sexual misconduct charges and he was sentenced to 12 years in prison Stephen beefin was also found guilty of the rape and murder of Caylee Heywood and was sentenced to life in prison they both had a few other charges as well like false imprisonment and perverting the course of justice for lying to police so in the aftermath of this case police and Kaylie's own parents decided to create a kind of educational short film named Kelly's love story a link down below it's just a youtube video that tells the story of the last 13 days of Caylee Haywood's life from the second she got that friend request on facebook to the second that she died please do consider watching that video if you are on social media a lot or if like your kids are on social media try and show that if you're a teacher I know quite a few teachers watch my videos consider showing it to students it is really really important stuff that video alone has helped hundreds of children and teenagers in the UK go to either police or an adult or a teacher about someone that they think is grooming them online and without videos like that you probably wouldn't consider it as grooming you would think it was just someone trying to be your friend online just like Kathy did but yeah that's
