The Jurassic Park Iceberg Explained

so i've always loved the jurassic park franchise sure they might not have the greatest films in the world but you know what if you want to watch dinosaurs do cool stuff what are the what other franchise can go to diner riders that's dead battlefield yeah they refuse to do that dinosaur horde mode so no turok yeah another dead franchise i think look the point i'm trying to make here is that i really like the jurassic park franchise and it's scientifically inaccurate dinosaurs so to celebrate the release jurassic world dominion let's talk about the jurassic park iceberg jurassic park trespasser trespasser is one of the most famous jurassic park video games released in october 1998 and developed by dreamworks interactive trespasser was an extremely ambitious first person shooter taking place a year after the lost world jurassic park the story has a woman named anne crash landing on isla sorta and having to survive against the local wildlife including a bunch of dinosaurs from the films like t-rexes velociraptors triceratops and even a non-movie dinosaur albertasaurus the game has no difficulty settings or time limits you just get a small text prompt the very beginning of the game that tells you what you need to do the game was also developed with the idea of being extremely realistic so there's no crosshairs for the guns in fact it's very hard to aim at all in this game also fun fact the game wasn't finished yeah the game was rushed out the door in 1998 despite the development team saying they'd need at least one more year development for it to be ready but because of some deals dreamworks interactive made they forced the game out in 1998. because of its unfinished nature the game is notable for being largely broken and borderline unplayable in certain sections but that has led to jurassic park fans decades later releasing unofficial patches and mods to fix the game the fan community for this game is still decently strong in 2022 and if you ever check out this game you pretty much need these mods and patches to play it oh yeah and i guess i should also mention this wanna know how you check your health in this game by looking down at your character's heart tattoo on her boob the spinosaurus controversy when jurassic park 3 came out fans were extremely angry that the spinosaurus was able to kill the t-rex this little controversy has since become one of the most talked about topics in the entire franchise due to fans still being angry about it over 20 years later this controversy is partially why the spinosaurus has never appeared in any other jurassic park film i know there's an in-lore explanation as to why but i'm talking about like out of universe it was supposed to make its return in jurassic world fallen kingdom where it would be killed by rexy after a fight during the volcano sequence but this was scrapped it's also the reason why rexy smashes through a spinosaurus skeleton in jurassic world as an apology of sorts with a fight in jp3 now i grew up with jurassic park 3 and i actually love the spinosaurus and its design so i never really cared about this controversy but oh boy are there those that still do other islands prior to the release of jurassic world evolution it wasn't well known that there were more islands in the jurassic park franchise it wasn't just isla nublar and isla sorna these other islands being called he's the monte ceros isla moretto isla pena and isla testino i i mispronounced all those i'm i'm very well aware though unlike nublar and sorna these islands more than likely never had any dinosaurs living on them dominion prologue jurassic world dominion the prologue is a five-minute short film released in november 2021 that mostly takes place at the cretaceous period where we see a bunch of different dinosaurs including what i'm assuming is the t-rex that rexy is a clone of being killed by gigantosaurus yes these dinosaurs lived millions of years from each other in different parts of the world but i'll just i'll get to that stuff later all right this short was originally released via imax theaters and was shown before the ninth fast and furious film originally all the footage featured in this short was going to be used in the film the first five minutes of the film to be exact however colin trevero decided to scrap the footage so we got it released as a short though there is an extended version of this short this version was the one shown in imax theaters and included alternate shots from the battle of big rock short film released in 2019 along with a scene with the mosasaurus to my knowledge this version has never been officially released online god creates dinosaurs in jurassic world there's various points in the film where you can see the book god creates dinosaurs which is an in-universe novel written by ian malcolm surprisingly this novel wasn't actually released as an in-universe reference book or something like that seems like an obvious piece of marketing they missed out on jurassic world alive pokemon go is a smartphone game released in oh i'm sorry i mean jurassic world alive is a smartphone game released in may 2018 that makes use of augmented reality technology basically you travel around the real world capturing dinosaurs creating hybrid dinosaurs taking part in strike events and battles there is even a monthly subscription service called vip that costs 10 a month yeah it's basically a pokemon go clone much like ghostbusters world and garfield go surprisingly to me at least this game is actually still pretty active other hybrids if you've seen all the jurassic park films you'll know there's hybrid dinosaurs yes i know that all the dinosaurs are technically hybrids but you know what i'm talking about like the dominus rex and the indoraptor but there's actually quite a few more hybrid dinosaurs in jurassic park franchise only seen in jurassic world evolution and campritius these being the scorpius rex which is made up of the t-rex velociraptor ankylosaurus scorpion fish gigantosaurus and a bunch of other stuff the psychoceratops which is actually seen in jurassic world on a computer screen it's a combo of the stegosaurus triceratops snake and beetle what kind of snake and beetle i have no idea the xenospino which is a combination of the xenoceratops and spinosaurus the enchilodocus which is a combo of the diplodocus and an ankylosaurus and finally there's the spinorapter which is a combination of the spinosaurus and velociraptor oh and yeah there's technically like a ton of hybrid dinosaurs in that jurassic world mobile game but i don't think any of those are even remotely canon or were even trying to stick to canon deleted scenes there's a ton of deleted scenes from the jurassic franchise so to save time i'll just list out six of them from each film in jurassic park the triceratops being sixth scene was originally going to have some resolution as grant ellie and tim discover that the dinosaur had been eating poisonous berries next to some gizzard stones around the same time as this scene there was also supposed to be a scene in which a baby triceratops would bother lex despite an animatronic being made for this scene it was scrapped but the animatronic would later be used in the lost world originally ian malcolm was going to run away in the film instead of creating a diversion so that grant could rescue tim and lex this scene was going to be filmed but jeff goldblum was able to convince spielberg to change it an entire sequence in which grant lex and tim would go on a raft through a river while being chased by a t-rex was scrapped because it would be far too expensive to film there was an alternate ending scripted in which john hammond would shoot the raptors at the end of jurassic park to save the rest of the cast and finally there is the lion sign contingency scene where moldy would explain to ellie what the lie sign contingency is what is it well i'll explain a little bit later next we have the lost world despite being in a trailer for the film there is a seat in which ludlow was in a board meeting describing the money owed for the deaths of john arnold muldoon and other people killed during the events of jurassic park there is also a scene in which roland and aj meet up and discuss their frustrations with the increasing endangered species acts which eventually leads to roland deciding to go to isla sorna to hunt the t-rex there was also a scene in which ludlow while drunk falls onto the infant t-rex which is how it broke its leg a seat in which the t-rex smashes its head through a family supposed to smell the people inside was also scrapped there was even a scene in which a t-rex would fight a velociraptor in the rex's nest and finally there was a scene in which after escaping the velociraptors in the long grass many different hunters would use hang gliders and helicopters to escape only for them to all get mauled in the air by pterodons this is where aj was originally going to die as for jurassic park 3 the opening of the film was completely changed it originally was some paleontologists in egypt uncovering a spinosaurus tooth there was also a scene in which we would actually see ben being mauled by velociraptors the t-rex and spinosaurus fight was going to be a minute longer it includes scenes where the t-rex pushes the spinosaurus back whips him with his tail and a scene in which the spinosaurus smacks the t-rex in its face with its claws there was also an alternate ending where the spinosaurus was killed by the marines at the end of the movie and there was another alternate death of the spinosaurus where it'd be killed by a pack of raptors shortly after the wrath attack as for jurassic world there was a scene in which player smears herself in dinosaur poop very happy this was scrapped it's just gross there was also a scene in which owen and claire hide under a log from the indominus rex which was scrapped there was also a scene in which the indominus rex destroys a t-rex animatronic this was scrapped because spielberg said that people might interpret this scene as saying cgi is better than animatronics there was also a scene which claire and owen encounter astecoceratops this scene would reveal that dr wu was making more hybrids in secret this was scrapped because contravero's son said that it would make the indominus rex feel a lot less special and finally there was a scene in which we see the anonymous wrecks preparing to escape its enclosure by using its camouflage and finally for jurassic world fallen kingdom there was a scene in which owen and the hunters discover a giant stegosaurus carcass there was also a scene of owen and claire watching as a baryonyx gets carried away by a helicopter this scene was scrapped despite being in the trailers there was also a scene in which mills showed eversol the indoraptor and we see the monster playing with a skull in its cage there was also another indoraptor scene scrapped from the film and like the baryonic scene it actually appeared in trailers though i guess saying a scrap scene is a bit of a stretch as it's just an alternate take on an already existing scene finally there was an extended scene with ian malcolm that was scrapped where he'd say here i am talking about dinosaurs again this was scrapped despite appearing in behind the scenes marketing weird that a lot of the deleted scenes from fallen kingdom appear in the trailers camp cretaceous jurassic world camp cretaceous the netflix show that began airing on september 18th 2020 and is still ongoing with currently five seasons planned out the show originally was about a cast of teens taking part in a camp cretaceous a dinosaur summer camp on isla's nublar when the events of jurassic world happen and well all hell breaks loose the show has since focused its attention on ease of sorta and has introduced non-dinosaur error prehistoric creatures into the main canon like a saber-toothed tiger for example which yes this show is canon with the films even getting its own dlc for jurassic world evolution 2 and rumors that a character or two may show up in dominion this show is known for a lot of things one of them beings dinosaur antagonists like lipimbo the baryonyx toro the carnosaurus and bumpy the ankylosaur okay bumpy's not an antagonist but i i thought that'd be a funny way to introduce him bumpy's kind of the show's mascot character for the first three seasons and started out as a baby and kylosaur before growing up throughout the seasons bumpy's become a fan favorite character and was even confirmed by colin travero that bumpy survived the events of fallen kingdom which has led some to theorize that maybe he'll show up in dominion i personally haven't watched the show and to be honest with you i probably won't it doesn't look too interesting to me but people seem to like the show so if you're a mega fan of the franchise i'd say at least give it a look there's also robots in the show yeah sorry to spoil that but uh i kind of have to this show confirms that dog like century robots and this weird dinosaur robots exist in the jurassic park universe and i don't really know how to feel about that because i because it's like yeah it's silly but i mean they're cloney dinosaurs and that's that's also kind of silly so i mean oh well jurassic park the ride jurassic park the rye is a water ride in universal studios in florida california and japan as one of the most famous rides from universal studios it was insanely popular based on the scene from the original novel and the deleted scene i mentioned earlier this ride has guests riding in a raft and had them coming face to face with several different dinosaurs like velociraptors t-rex dilophosaurus and some copies sadly its original location at universal studios hollywood was closed down in september of 2018 but it was replaced with jurassic world the ride which is very similar to the old ride but with a new coat of jurassic world paints and new narration from brace dallas howard reprising her role as claire despite the original location being gone the original jurassic park the ride is still operational in florida japan and even singapore via a river rapids variant it's called jurassic park rapids adventure operation genesis jurassic park operation genesis is one of if not the most beloved jurassic park video game developed by blue tongue entertainment and released in 2003 for the pc ps2 and original xbox this is a park simulation game that uses over 20 different dinosaurs in the first three films the game also has a dynamic weather system missions and a site b option which basically just lets players release whatever dinosaurs they want into the wild just to see them live their normal lives despite the game not getting insanely great reviews at the time the game has become a cult classic it is still to stay looked at as the definitive jurassic park simulator though i personally think evolution and its sequel are far better but don't that mean i remember as a kid just watching dozens upon dozens of operation genesis dinosaur fight videos in tribute videos to t-rex and spinosaurus while like late 90's early 2000's rock music or trailer music played in the background the high heels scene in another jurassic park controversy right before the amazing rexian blue versus a dominus rex scene we see claire luring rexy over to the indominus rex while running in high heels this little scene has become widely mocked online for being impossible however bryce dallas howard herself has defended the scene stating there was a point where we had to decide i remember that day when i said i'm going to keep these shoes on please i always saw as a really fun thing that she runs to the jungle and heals and the outfit gets totally demolished she was even offered two other options to go barefoot or chop off the heels however she declined both these options as not only did she like wearing them but she defended them from a plot perspective saying it was originally written for me to wear sneakers and i was like no no no i'm going to wear heels that's what i'm going to do it felt like it completed the journey the dinosaur protection group the dinosaur protection group is an universe non-profit organization featured heavily in jurassic world fallen kingdom they're a group led by claire the goal of saving dinosaurs from extinction and advocating for their rights as a species in order to stir a pipe for fallen kingdom there is a website created for them in 2017 and a twitter account created that same year the website especially was interesting as it featured tons of new lore of the jurassic park franchise sadly you need to use the wayback machine to get into the website because as of now the website has been blocked because of an in-universe government investigation a neat little way to kill the website in the universe there was also the option to adopt a dinosaur which is pretty cool the messrani corporation like the dinosaur protection group a website for the masarani global corporation was created in 2015 to promote jurassic world it featured various pieces of lore and is strangely still up despite it being almost 7 years old now this website is still available to visit as of may 2022 there's also a terminal you can use if you type out the password indominus here you can see private logs and other secret lore stuff nobody move a muscle one of the most iconic scenes of the jurassic park franchise is the scene in the first film where grant and lex are about to be eaten by the t-rex they only don't get eden because they're standing perfectly still and the t-rex can't see them this logic has returned in several sequels including dress park 3 and jurassic world dominion but is there any truth to this claim well no in fact because of its appearance in the film a lot of research went into seeing if it was actually true to which researchers discovered no t-rexes had fine eyesight in fact they had really good eyesight able to see prey up to three miles away i won't go into details on how they discovered this because it's all like scientific stuff that i don't understand but yeah this fact was debunked very early on though there is an end universe explanation for this in the novel it's mentioned that the t-rex's bad eyesight was a side effect of the amphibian dna engine used to call the dinosaurs scientific inaccuracies i'm going to keep this one quick because everyone knows the dinosaurs and jurassic park are not scientifically accurate so instead of listing every inaccuracy i'll mention all the major ones or at least most of them that i see being talked about online also keep in mind that some of these inaccuracies were accurate when the films came out only for them to be contradicted later than line with new discoveries for the velociraptor obviously i mean they had feathers velociraptors had feathers while the ones the films don't and the philosophers of the film are much bigger than they are in real life as for spinosaurus pretty much everything it had a long jaw and skull had those arms in the sail but pretty much everything else just wrong for the mosasaurus it's quite simple it's roughly twice the size of a real mostasaurus so similar to the velociraptor as for triceratopses they had square and blocky teeth that allowed them to chew so the whole swallowing gizzard stones thing isn't real for quits so catalysts uh yeah it's pretty big in real life but like the mosasaur velociraptor uh they turn this thing into like a mini rodan they're not kaiju size they were pretty big but i mean the size like a big like a giant plane no as for the dilophosaurus they had no venom or neck fan at all and finally we have the pyro raptor which can't swim in freezing water or probably swim at all look at pod for example that dude couldn't swim there's other minor stuff of pretty much all the dinosaurs but these are the main ones i see people talk about dinosaur sightings in promotion for jurassic world dominion universal has released found footage and news report styled videos on twitter and other social medias that depict dinosaurs living in our world many of these videos are just a guy walking in on a dinosaur eating or drinking or something but sometimes they can get pretty crazy for example there's one snapchat style one where a guy is being stalked by a baryonyx and only just narrowly avoids being eaten then there's one where an entire community is like 10 feet away from the sleeping baryonyx hogging the pool guys this isn't like an alligator this thing is really fast and will eat all of you you guys gotta go overall they're a pretty fun way to build up height for the final installment of the original jurassic saga the original jurassic park three presser park 3 had a very troubled production so troubled in fact that five weeks before filming began they rewrote the entire movie the plot the characters the sets the animatronics everything from what we know the original film involved dr grant and billy going around investigating murders on the mainland that looked to be done by pterodons the film would then have the two arrive on isla sorna in a plane crash with t leone william h macy trevor morgan and john dale's characters why did i say the characters instead of the characters names well it's because the characters they play in jurassic park 3 amanda kirby paul kirby eric kirby and cooper don't actually exist in the original jurassic park 3 as they play completely different characters well all of them except for uh john dal who still plays cooper in this original version so i guess i could have just said cooper anyways on the island they'd fend off against raptors an intense overnight stay at an engine outpost escape from the spinosaurus and have a giant action sequence of the pterodon cage even while gp3 is being filmed the script continued to change with william h macy even saying in an interview at the time the script has been evolving and being rewritten as we go and what you want to say is who launched a 100 million dollar ship without a rudder and who's getting fired for this but that's the way it goes that's the way they make these movies big deal i think someone should be shocked but i'm not in charge so yeah william h macy was pretty mad that day also originally the film's main antagonist was going to be a baryonyx this was later changed though because the baryonyx isn't remotely as big as a t-rex so the spinosaurus took center stage also the film went through two different subtitles extinction and breakout just thought i'd throw those things in there as well jurassic park four so there's been a ton of cancelled jurassic park 4 scripts so instead of going over every single one of them in one entry i'll spread them out throughout the video like i'm spreading dinosaur jam on dinosaur toast that's a terrible joke and that sounds actually disgusting i apologize for saying that that was uncalled for anyways this is the most famous dress park 4 idea that being the human dinosaur hybrids that would have been created by the military so that they can use them to assassinate terrorists and cartel leaders and basically use them in war now there are several scripts involving these humantizer hybrids but a good chunk of these scripts were never actually finished i'm personally just happy that none of these hybrid scripts were made because look these like raptor armed soldier dudes i i'm not i'm not feeling i'm not feeling them before i move on can we just take a second and look back on the jurassic park 4 fan made posters that tricked so many of us kids [Music] in jen's list engines listed a piece of lore featured in the first dress park film and by extension the first novel basically it's a list of every species of dinosaur engine declone in the film universe you had dinosaurs we saw in the original three films like gullimimus the t-rex brachiosaurus stegosaurus velociraptor and kylosaurus etc along with some dinosaurs we never actually saw in the original films like baryonyx carnosaurus dimorphodon microceratus and sukamimus i should probably mention here that i'm going to be mispronouncing a lot of dinosaur names in this video so uh i'm sorry the filmless would later get more species added to it once masarani purchased injin for jurassic world with additions like dinonicus xenoceratops varanasaurus the troidon and the mosasaurus however there's still a good chunk of dinosaurs we don't know if injen or maserati had access to but we know existing universe like the gigantosaurus iguanodon and dinosukis granted dominion isn't out at the time of writing this so maybe these will get answers in that film but even then we still have dinosaurs like ceratosaurus spinosaurus and tylosaurus which are three species we know that masrani and injin never cloned which means that they were cloned illegally and finally for the novels list it's similar to the film's initial engine list but with additions like the giant dragonfly and stryracosaurus novel differences so when adapting anything from a book a comic a video game etc to a movie or show you're gonna have to scrap or change some things and for the first few jurassic park films yeah they changed a lot from entire sequences like the river raft scene from the first novel to the camouflaged carnosauruses stalking around the second novel there's so many differences you can make an entire video about just the changes for the first book so in the interest of time i'll rapid fire off some major changes as most people know now in the novels john hammond is a very bad person not caring if his grandkids or really anyone else dies and is also just a really mean dude in general he also dies in the novel being devoured by a pack of copies this only happens because his grandkids play a t-rex war over the pa system that makes him panic fall and break his ankle speaking of his grandkids lexington's personalities were actually swapped for the movie dr grant also doesn't hate children in the novel and ian malcolm dies well he dies but then it's revealed that he didn't actually die in the second novel only because ian malcolm survived the movie and well the second novel was written after the first film came out am is going to be used as inspiration for the second movie there's also a threat of dinosaurs reaching the mainland in the novel as the characters have to try and contact a boat and get it to turn around because while unknown to the crew there's raptors on the boat also that entire sequence at the beginning of the lost world movie is actually the beginning of the first book henry wu was also a main character in the first novel instead of just being in one scene in the movie as for the second novel ian malcolm and company arrive on isla sorna to find richard levine a wealthy man who created the becky dolt line of toys he's a main character of the novel but doesn't show up in any of the movies there's also kelly and arby who are two college stowaways looking for their teacher they also don't show up in the movie and no this kelly is not the same kelly as malcolm's daughter in the movie also roland aj and ludlow are not in the book at all but lewis dawgson the dude who hired ninja in the first film actually returns as one of the main antagonists of the lost world novel also finally the whole san diego thing at the end of the movie doesn't happen in the novel action figures so jurassic park has had its fair share toys created by kenner the original line of toys in the first film are famous for being pretty wacky take nedry for example who we all know looked like this in the film how about dr grant with his iconic double boa launcher or tim with his retracting snare what i find to be the most interesting though is these evil raider figures yeah during the second series of figures for the first film kenner began releasing original characters two of them were the evil raiders skinner and dr snare god i wish these characters from the film though in the toy universes these dudes are both dead as skinner got killed by a baryonyx while snare was eaten alive by a carnosaurus jurassic park will return in a moment on nbc something big is coming to mcdonald's something of such enormous proportions it could only be called the jurassic park extra value meal okay let's see an enormously juicy triple cheeseburger with fries and a medium drink in one of six free jurassic park collector cups the jurassic park extra value meal a dino sized value for a dino-sized appetite it was mine what you want is what you get at mcdonald's today all right jurassic park continues starring sam neal and laura dern jurassic park 2 the chaos continues the chaos continues is a video game developed by ocean software and released in 1994 for the snes gameboy as the name suggests it's a sequel to the first film but it's obviously not canon the game's plot has dotson and biosin attempting to capture all the dinosaurs on isla nublar and it's up to dr grant and michael wolf's skin to stop them this game is pretty crazy as dr grant has to gun down hordes of soldiers and raptors but not any other dinosaur as killing any non-carnivore will decrease engine's stock level and if that stock level falls to zero then it's game over it's a pretty weird action platformer that even has nods to the original novel it is the only time you'll ever get to see dr grant gunned down a dude with a flamethrower also in this continuity [ __ ] didn't just clone dinosaurs they also cloned giant purple wasps live action show so in march of 2020 it was reported that a live-action jurassic park tv series was in development with justin falvay and daryl frank serving as executive producers with colin trevero as a producer so when will the show be coming out well uh probably never as in january 2022 producer frank marshall denied there's been any talk about a live-action tv show stating directly no i'm really just focused on the movies so i haven't really thought about that there's been no discussion of that as i say we have the enemies series i think that's plenty for now so i guess the live action show was just a rumor or the show was happening but was canceled regardless it's not looking too hot right now cameo dinosaurs so in the jurassic park films there's sometimes dinosaurs that don't really get any spotlight or can be hard to miss because they're only in the background of a shot i call these dudes cameo dinosaurs there's not a ton of them but they're still notable in jurassic park there was a bunch of parasauropolis seen in the initial brachiosaurus reveal in the lost world two mamenchian sauruses can be seen during the injen hunter scene in jurassic park 3 a bunch of corey thoraces can be seen the hadrosaur herd during the raptor chase and finally in jurassic world a single pachyphlosaurus can be seen briefly in security camera jurassic world survivor jurassic world survivor is a cancelled dress park video game that would have tied him with jurassic world originally leaked on reddit in 2015 survivor was going to be a third person survival game with elements similar to h1z1 the game would have you play as owen as you well try to survive jurassic world the dinosaurs that we know are going to be in the game were the t-rex dilophosaurus sukamimus spinosaurus velociraptor gullimimus triceratops stegosaurus and baryonyx initially people were skeptical of this game's existence but it was confirmed that it was a canceled game when the fansite jurassic outpost confirmed its existence by posting images and animations from the game this caused some controversy though as the images and animations were taken down at the request to the original artists involved with the game's production as apparently the game quote was still very much alive despite the developers cryptic studios closing down due to staff being laid off but then in october 2016 perfect world entertainment cryptic studio's parent company register the website domain jurassic worldsurvivor.com so is this game actually still happening i don't think so the game began development in 2015 and it's now 2022 with the last big leak happening in 2017 baby t-rex and jp3 this is a fan theory that's become pretty popular in the jurassic park fandom the theory is the t-rex in jurassic park 3 is actually the baby t-rex from the lost world grown up into a teenage rex which would explain why a spinosaurus was able to kill it now i actually believed this theory as a kid but in reality the two aren't the same as their color schemes are completely different now there's nothing wrong with believing this theory there's just not a lot of evidence to support it telltale game released in november of 2011 telltale's jurassic park is a pretty interesting piece of jurassic park lore as at the time it was meant to be canon to the films but as of the jurassic world films the water has gotten a bit murky anyways the game like all telltale games is a point-and-click choose your own adventure game the game's plot is set during and shortly after the first film with jerry harding being one of the main protagonists though he's uh looking a little bit different in his movie kind of heart anyways he along with a bunch of new characters like nema crews jess harding laura sorkin and oscar morales had to try and escape jurassic park while also locating the shaving cream canister that nedry dropped in the first film outside of its potential place in the timeline this game is also notable for featuring three new species of pre-star creatures that were apparently always present during the events of the first film these being the tylosaurus the herrerasaurus though technically you could argue that they're not new as in the first film you can see a logo indicating that they exist on the island and the troadon which are treated as the game's super scary mystery dinosaur and they're also ordered to be exterminated by jon hammond himself which is why we'd never see them in the future that's and this game is set in a different canon like i said earlier this game was originally intended to be canon but the events of the game don't really match canon anymore while you could argue that they'd never match to begin with and there's even been people involved with the films that have said this game and all games like it should be taken as soft cannon meaning that maybe events similar to this happened in the film universe or maybe these characters exist in the film universe but it's all very loosely canon i'm here what's happening [Music] forget it there's nothing you can do anyway are you sure tell me what's happening signing off the ss venture hand mystery so in the lost world jurassic park there's a mystery surrounding the ship the ss venture or more accurately it's crew if you watch the film you'll probably be confused as to how the crew were all killed and that a severed hand was left on the boat's bridge while there were two teak rex's on the ship one adult and one baby people don't think the two of them could kill all the crew as the t-rex is far too big to be going around corridors and stuff so the theory is that a pack of raptors were also in the boats and that we were going to see them in the film but they were scrapped in the film and spielberg forgot to remove this element of the film this is completely untrue as there's nothing in the shooting script that talks about raptors on the boat instead it's suggested in the film that the t-rex did kill everyone on the boat so i guess like the entire crew was in one area on the boat as for the hand nobody really knows people say the t-rex did it but i mean there's not a lot of rubble in the room to suggest that the t-rex busted its head through and like snagged the guy is it a plot hole kinda but it's not really that big of one jurassic park europe so everyone talks about the original jurassic park jurassic world and jurassic park san diego but nobody ever talks about the fourth jurassic park theme park that was intended to be created very briefly in the background of the first film you can see promotion for jurassic park europe also while not in the movie there is another potential park mentioned called jurassic park japan that would be built on an island near guam not japan despite it being called jurassic park japan jimmy buffett cameo so here's a really quick one in jurassic world the musician jimmy buffett makes a cameo appearance as the owner of margaritaville and is seen running away from the recently escaped pterosaurs this cameo only came to be because buffett is actually good friends with jurassic world producer frank marshall other prehistoric creatures despite dinosaurs being the number one focus in the jurassic park franchise there's been other prehistoric creatures brought back as well as mentioned before the main dress apart continuity sabretooth tigers or smiling ons have been brought back alongside the dinosaurs there's also a possibility of wooly mammoths being cloned as well as while we have yet to see one on the screen bones of one are encampertacious dr henry wu is about to say something about them but he's cut off and they never bring up these bones again also according to some promotional stuff dimetrodons will be appearing in jurassic world dominion and uh yeah they are dinosaurs despite what you might believe they actually existed millions of years before dinosaurs they also appear in several non-canon comics like jurassic park redemption for 2010 and of course there's the mosasaurus from jurassic world the tylosaurus and the telltale game and the pterodons and well a bunch of the jurassic park films all of which aren't dinosaurs and finally i should also mention the extensive amount of non-canon creatures as in both the mobile jurassic park and jurassic world games you can get a lot of other prehistoric animals such as the megatherium hydrodon elastomerphorium arctus diprotogon titanoboa megalodon vaselinosaurus delicaus prosoptidon some of these guys are even in jurassic world alive and in that game you can create a dinosaur mammal hybrid called the smilocephalosaurus i don't like this i also don't like saying these prehistoric names i i hope you're not too bothered by this try my hardest escape from jurassic park escape from jurassic park was a cancelled animated series from the mid 90s after the insane success of the original film a cartoon titled escape from jurassic park was greenlit a plot of this cartoon would have john hammond just like not learn anything at the end of the movie and try again to finish jurassic park while biosin would open their own jurassic park in brazil which wouldn't go very well as all the dinosaurs were escaping to the jungle characters like dr grant ellie tim lex john hammond and ian malcolm would all either be maine and supporting characters in the show and there were plans for at least the first season to last 23 episodes surprisingly though this show is going to be aimed at the same target audience as the film in fact there were intentions for this cartoon to air during prime time so it wouldn't be your standard kids cartoon though universal would hope that it also appeal to kids which i mean it's a dinosaur thing so of course it will though even if the show was just for little kids it wouldn't be a standard kids show as if this cartoon were made it would have been the most expensive animated series ever created up until that time as universal wanted all the top writers and animators in the project along with giving of the show a bit of cg animation so why didn't this cartoon get made steven spielberg well okay i'm sure there were other reasons but spielberg was a big reason the show required his approval before it could go deep into production and spielberg at the time had really become tired of the promotion and merchandise surrounding the film so he refused to watch the trailer for the show created by william stout and so escape from jurassic park never escaped development clayton furiti this is a jurassic park youtuber that's probably the biggest dedicated jurassic park youtuber out there and let me tell you this dude is extremely passionate about this franchise as all of its videos delve into the lore of the films the novels the comics the games etc man practically lives in jurassic park if you're a fan of the franchise or dinosaur fan in general you should check out his content here are some of my favorite videos from him owen is the turkey kid what a weird sentence anyways this is a very popular theory that owen is actually the kid from the beginning of jurassic park who thought raptors were just giant turkeys and dumb only for dr grant then like traumatized him so much that he went on to become a raptor tamer 20 years later while a funny theory there really isn't much leaking the two outside of them both having opinions on velociraptors in fact it's already been confirmed to be not true the character's name is actually eddie and wit hurtford the guy who played eddie has directly said they're different characters so yeah turkey boy is not actually chris pratt t-rex breakout game t-rex breakout is a free-to-play game though it's honestly more of an experience created by unity 5 games released on itchio and i believe 2018 this game allows you to live out the seed in the original jurassic park film where rexy breaks out of her enclosure only this time there's no dr grant or even malcolm to save you so you're eventually going to be devoured it's a really cool little demo that i think every jurassic park fan or hell any horror fan should check out john sales jurassic park 4. one script for jurassic park 4 was written by john sale a parada lone star spiderman chronicles and the lady in red fame this script followed the ending address mark iii directly with the same group of pterodons from the end of that film showing up at the beginning of this film at a baseball game on the mainland causing chaos shortly after that dinosaurs begin to show up on the mainland so john hammond orders a new character named nick harris to find that can of embryos the first film in order for john hammond to then make a dinosaur capable of hunting down and killing all the other dinosaurs a very interesting plan and so nick harris travels to isla nublar and in the process is almost killed by velociraptors hiding in trap doors that they had created his plane also gets destroyed by kronosaurus and he's basically trapped in the island or that's what he thinks as he's then captured by a security force belonging to a swiss organization that now owns isla nublar they knock him out and he wakes up in a castle in the alps where he's kind of forced to join the organization in order to survive it's there that he meets human dog velociraptor hybrids that can now camouflage with their surroundings nick then leads these dinosaur dog human hybrids on several missions killing drug lords and terrorists before eventually the raptors turn on their creators and kill everybody but nick in his love interest that's a very brief recap of the film but yeah it was a pretty wacky idea also yes this is the script where velociraptors and ankylosaur and several dilophosaurus can parachute down military style to take out some drug lords they're also wearing guns and military gear so i guess we're just enlisting dinosaurs into the army billy scrap death so if you thought billy's survival in jurassic park 3 was a bit strange and out of nowhere there's a reason for that billy was originally going to die during the pterodon sequence you can even see his death in the film as if you look closely at the scene where the pterodans are pecking billy a large amount of blood can be seen pouring into the river so how exactly did billy survive these wounds with nobody else around well it can be assumed that maybe the river he was in led to the ocean or the military picked him up but as for like everything else and how he somehow didn't bleed out and die it's just kind of left unexplained as you probably realized by now billy's survival was a very last-second decision by director joe johnston the fate of isla sorna so isla sorna is a pretty big location in the jurassic park franchise i mean it's the main setting for two out of six films so it's pretty important though after jurassic park 3 the island kind of just stopped being talked about minus some non-canon games and novels that was until falling kingdom's vibral marketing campaign the dinosaur protection group which i talked about earlier on their website they reveal a bunch of lore about how the mascara corporation did illegal cloning there between the events of the lost world in dress mark iii which resulted in the creation of the spinosaurus ceratosaurus and the ankylosaurus but what happened to the island during the events of the jurassic world trilogy well nothing good as revealed in some more viral marketing the spinosaurus quite literally ate most of the dinosaurs on the island as it was a hyper aggressive titan so by the events of jurassic world most of the dinosaurs in isla soren are dead also the messerani corporation took a lot of the surviving dinosaurs off the island in order for them to be showcased at jurassic world so yeah israel is kind of dying the same brachiosaurus in jurassic world falling kingdom there's a scene in which a brachiosaurus is seen giving out a final roar as it's engulfed by the volcano's ashes killing it it's a sad scene but many fans like to make it even sadder with the theory that this brachiosaurus is the same one from the very beginning of jurassic park the first dinosaur we fully see i mean it's obvious the brachiosaurus was added to the scene and fallen kingdom as a reference to how those were the first ion source we saw but i i mean i guess it's possible it's the same one i mean rexy is still around so who's to say this brachiosaurus and still look well okay maybe not around anymore but you get what i'm saying though at the same time the brachiosaurus cg model in fallen kingdom is very different than the one in the original film having a completely different skull structure so i don't know i guess it's kind of like a head canon thing steven spielberg's jurassic park iii not much is known about spielberg's idea for jurassic park 3 as in a jurassic park film where he directed it but one of the ones we do know about is how he wanted dr grant to be living on isla sorta because he was so obsessed with studying dinosaurs he was also going to be a lot more light-hearted than how he was portrayed in the original film and the third film we actually got also the san diego sequence from lost world was originally going to be in this film but was moved to the lost world as spielberg really wanted to do that sequence and he didn't know if he was going to be directing jurassic park 3. now of course spielberg had input on the third film i mean one of the reasons why there's such a big focus on pterodons is because spielberg wanted that but what would a spielberg directed jurassic park 3 look like we'll never know jurassic park redemption jurassic park redemption is a five issue comic series that began being released around june 2010 written by bob shrook as the title suggests this story is about redemption jurassic park's redemption as tim and lex murphy are now adults and are trying to restart jurassic park but things don't exactly go to plan when dinosaurs end up getting loose on the mainland while dr wu was closing dinosaurs in texas where this new jurassic park will be built due to this dinosaur trouble dr grant ellie and even dodson make appearances even ludlow returns who apparently survived his encounter with the t-rex and its kid in the lost world despite his face being literally chewed off good god that's just awful after the dinosaurs in this comic there's quite a few as i mentioned earlier the dimetrodon makes appearance in this though it's not a dinosaur i know just pretty sword creature right all the prehistoric creatures that make appearances are triceratops carnatosaurus protoceratops the oviraptor mussosaurus allosaurus velociraptor gigantosaurus and the mosasaur in fact it seems the gigantosaurus and mosasaurus may have inspired jurassic world a bit as in the final issue the giganotosaurus has a battle with a pack of raptors and is defeated by the mosasaur third novel so after the release of the lost world jurassic park fans began to speculate whether or not there would be a third novel written by michael creighton a novel that perhaps the third film would take influence from we know now that there was never a third novel but there was a ton of talk about it back in the day with creighton being asked questions about it in interviews however it was in 2002 where cried flat out denied a third novel's production stating directly no after i wrote lost worlds i said i wouldn't write another dinosaur book and before you comment what about dragon teeth that book was about paleontology not dinosaurs mosasaurus in jurassic park 3. i'll go into detail about scrap dinosaurs later on but for right now i just want to focus on the mosasaurus while the mosasaurus would have its time in the spotlight in jurassic world fallen kingdom and i assume the minion it was originally going to make its debut in jurassic park 3. in its original debut it would have been featured swimming around in a mosasaurus breeding tank inside of the engine lab dr granting company discover there was concept art created for it but the scene ultimately never left the idea stage during development original lost world so the version of the lost world jurassic park that we got wasn't the original lost world we were gonna get now every film goes through multiple scripts but the final script was very different from previous scripts the script that i'll be talking about was probably the most different out of all of them for example ian malcolm and sarah harding would go to ethos sorta together along with nick van owen and dr judson oh you know the iconic character of dr judson you guys don't remember the seed in fallen kingdom where judson let a copy on fire with a flamethrower while the other characters looked on in horror jokes aside dr judson was a member of e malcolm's team and would have been the paleontologist in the group he never shows up at the final film the film also had the san diego ending being completely dropped and instead the final scene of the movie would have been john hammond's funeral roland would have also had a semi-redemption arc where he'd save ian malcolm and kelly from a velociraptor also there being entire plot points but a pterydon nesting area which resulted in a bunch of dudes getting killed which would have led to that deleted scene that i talked about earlier and finally the stolen dino dna from the first film would have been a plot point in this despite it being on isla nublar and not useless sorna but yeah this version of the lost world was very different but hey at least some of its scrapped concepts would make it into jurassic park 3. jurassic park will return in a moment on nbc [Music] something has and it's at burger king four collectible watches from the lost world jurassic park when you buy any tasty burger king value meal get a killer lost world watch for only 199. they can only be cited at burger king to collect all four just 199 with any value meal [Music] before time runs out jurassic park continues starring sam neal and laura dern jurassic world aftermath so when you think of modern jurassic park games you'll probably instantly think of either jurassic world evolution or lego jurassic world probably not jurassic world aftermaths this is a jurassic park vr game developed by code sync software that was exclusively released for the oculus quest in december 2020 which probably explains why nobody talks about this game despite being a recent release it's a cell shaded horror stealth game inspired by the kitchen scene in the original jurassic park being a stealth game you can't exactly fight back against the velociraptors which are the main enemies in this game though there are other enemies like the t-rex triceratops and dilophosaurus so you need to use distractions to lure the raptors into other areas where they can't see you the story of this game is rather simple and canon by the way taking place between the events of jurassic world and fallen kingdom you play as a dude named sam who is set to isla nublar to obtain information after crash landing on the island he's forced to survive against a pack of velociraptors hunting him half a year after the game was released it received a sequel while a sequel dlc titled jurassic world aftermath part 2. what's interesting about this dlc was that it wasn't originally intended to be a dlc you see because of the pandemic the game was behind schedule so instead of delaying the game aftermath was split up into two parts which resulted in the game's story having to be rearranged for example the ending of part 1 was actually meant to happen in a completely different part of the game reviews for the game were mixed but i mean this is our only jurassic park horror game out there so i guess it's worth checking out in that regard if you have an oculus quest wow i'd sure love vr games that are exclusive to certain headsets that's really cool and fair to everyone also jeff goldblum reprises his role as ian malcolm in this game which to me further proves that this dude will just say yes to anything jurassic park related nowadays the rick jaffa and amanda silver jurassic park iv script so rick joffrey and made a silver of the planet of the apes trilogy fame were hired to write the script for what would become jurassic world and while their script ultimately wasn't used it was extremely influential for example their script to the main dinosaur threat be a new species of dinosaur unlike the film where the indominus rex was a hybrid created by man this new dinosaur the script was a never-before-discovered species of dinosaur known as the malusaurus though it would later be called the diabolus rex other similar ideas to what we eventually got in jurassic world include a rapid trainer character who uses a pack of raptors to help take down the new big bad dinosaur pterodons escaping from their enclosure resulting in a massive brawl between them and park security a scene where the big bad dinosaur takes down an ankylosaur and the existence of the gyro spears which were called the gyro balls in the script the plot followed a paleontologist and her two kids traveling to the new jurassic park in order to investigate this new dinosaur since the bones of the creature she helped on earth were stolen by the mysterious company the park would also have several different aquatic animals including a plesiosaur and an ichthyosaur the film would also open up in china much like the scrapped jurassic park 3 opening where a group of paleontologists dig up the bones of the malusaurus and finally the theme park in this film would still be called jurassic park not jurassic world for whatever reason this script was rejected though like i said elements of it would be used and or evolved into what we got in jurassic world nick van owen vanishes in the lost world jurassic park [ __ ] van owen just kind of vanishes from the movie right before the final act this is weird because he's a main character and he just like doesn't show up ever again or is even mentioned some people even claim that spielberg forgot about the character which explains why he doesn't show up in the rest of the film while i personally doubt they forgot about the character as that just seems a bit silly there is one theory that makes a lot of sense well an in-universe theory that is i mean out of the universe is probably just vince vaughn not being able to make it back for reshoots this in universe theory is that nick van oen was looking after kelly think about it out of all the main good guy cast nick van one and kelly are the only two who aren't present at all during the final act so ian malcolm probably asked van owen to watch after her for a few well like i said the more realistic option is that vince vaughn just couldn't make it back to reshoots did echo survive so shortly after the release of jurassic world there is a popular fan theory that the velociraptor echo had actually survived alongside blue this is because out of all three raptors who died in the film she got the least brutal death with just being thrown into a building something that blue was shown to survive meanwhile charlie gets blown up by a rocket launcher and delta was turned to the dinosaur bbq also people claim to hear raptor chirping as blue runs off after the final fight which like yeah there is it's blues this theory continued to be popular up until fallen kingdom where it was finally debunked as the dinosaur protection group states that she died making all the echolib fans sad because they thought that she'd returned this film which i mean i guess she does technically return this film just not the way fans wanted interestingly though it seems that echo was originally intended to survive the film as concept art for the final fight shows blue and another raptor watching as rexy battles the indominus rex scrapped operation genesis content operation genesis may have been the peak of jurassic park park simulation games for a while but it could have been even better like with all games operation genesis has its share of script content some of these include baby dinosaurs which were planned to be in the game but had to be scrapped midway through production because of scheduling issues this also resulted in the planned dinosaur petting zoo building being scrapped as well there was also a hotel a hunting platform and a dinosaur vet station that were worked on but were all ultimately scrapped there was also plans for a force fire disaster to occasionally happen in the game along with various aerial and aquatic priests or creatures being available for your park there was also originally going to be 40 dinosaurs in the game but 15 of them had to be scrapped due to console restrictions thankfully we know 13 of these 15 scrap dinosaurs these include the baryonyx the apatosaurus iguanodon diplodocus orthomimus dinonicus yangchuasaurus tinnottosaurus myosora ali aromas panopliosaurus we're hoasaurus and the sealsaurus i i apologize for butchering the names i i'm trying my hardest barry's absence in fallen kingdom so jurassic world's main cast consisted of owen brady my wife claire dearing vic hoskins grey and zach mitchell henry wu simon mizrani and barry vick and masrani both die in the film while the two mitchell brothers leave the franchise this leaves owen claire and wu to continue on to appear in the next three films and then there's barry who is reappearing in dominion but wasn't in fallen kingdom or mentioned at all in the film despite him also being a raptor trainer so you'd think that he would be asked alongside owen to return it is the new blur to find blue but surprisingly no like i said he doesn't appear or is even mentioned his exclusion from the middle of the trilogy confused a lot of fans so why didn't barry return well perhaps there'll be an in-universe reason given in dominion but as for a real reason like you know an out of universe reason it's because barry wasn't even supposed to be in the first film at all omar c the actor who plays barry was personally chosen by colin travero to be in the movie because he felt that he was under used in the x-men film series which uh for all my x-men fans he played bishop and dave the future past so yeah he was pretty underused omar c even confirmed that he was only in the film because trevor wanted to work with him and trevero even went on to confirm that he wrote the role for omar but then most of barry's scenes were actually scrapped in the film so that's uh that's that's awesome uh good work guys so basically colin trevero not directing fallen kingdom is probably the reason why barry wasn't in the movie at all i mean do you think it's a coincidence that barry only appears in the first and third films of the trilogy both films directed by colin travero and doesn't appear in the only installment not made by trevorrow this is all a theory but i think it makes enough sense the 2022 winter olympics in promotion for jurassic world dominion several ads were created to air alongside the 2022 winter olympics in beijing these ads showed olympic athletes competing or trading when suddenly blue rexy an apatosaurus and they heard a pair of salafis show up which leaves the athletes star struck these ads are kind of weird not because you know dinosaurs in the olympics crossing over but because you gotta wonder like what's going on in some of these ads like the perisilothis one is this dude just like practicing his ice skating in the middle of the mountains jurassic park war path created by black ops entertainment for the original playstation and released in november 1999 jurassic park warpath is the franchise's first attempt at entering the fighting game scene yeah you heard right a jurassic park fighting game the game features all your standard fighting game modes like arcade versus practice survival etc there's even a museum option that allows players to learn more about the dinosaurs there's overall 14 different playable dinosaurs in the game ranging from dinosaurs to movies like t-rex triceratops and pachycephalosaurus dinosaurs that make their debut in future films like the ankylosaur spinosaurus and the giganotosaurus and a bunch of dinosaurs that didn't appear in any of the films like the pseudomymus albertasaurus megaraptor etc also being a jurassic park game the game uses plenty of stages for the first two films and even universal studios as a joke stage it's a rather weird installment of the jurassic park franchise that you probably gotta see in order to believe that it actually exists what attacked the boat so in the beginning of jurassic park 3 the boat that eric is parasailing on is attacked and everybody on board is killed this happens off screen so we don't actually see how they died just that they're all gone and the ship is torn up this has led to various theories over the years as to what creature did this as the film doesn't confirm anything some believe it was the spinosaurus i mean it is the main antagonist of the film and it can swim though the boat is pretty far out from the coastline and i don't know if the spinosaurus like swam in the open ocean the mosasaurus is another theory despite it not being cloned until jurassic world so no that theory doesn't work at all though people who believe this theory will cite the deleted concept of the mosasaur tank being evidence that the creators of the film toyed around the idea of this creature being responsible which if that's the case it was scrapped so uh the theory doesn't work then there's the pterodons who are another theory though this theory falls apart when you remember that the pterodons inside the islands have been locked in the aver area all these years until they're released later on the film so it couldn't have been them also why would the pterodams attack the people on the boat but not the two dudes in the air well funny enough in an earlier draft of jurassic spark 3 the pterosaurs were responsible for the attack so i guess in the final film the implication is that the pterodons still did it i guess still doesn't make much sense but i guess you can just chalk that up to jurassic park 3's treble production the making of jurassic park book remember how i said universal missed out on a great promotional product for jurassic world by not making a real copy of god creates dinosaurs well they actually did something similar for the original jurassic park all the way back in 1993 kinda you see in 1993 a book was released called the making of jurassic park which tells the behind the scenes history of the film how they made the dinosaurs the scripts etc however in the film you can briefly see this book on display though the contents of the novel in the film universe is probably just like the story of how john hammond and jen create the park itself or maybe it's a fourth wall breaking dimensional rift about how the film is made we'll never know spinosaurus is a hybrid so this is in reference to a debunked theory that many fans bleed for years the theory goes that dr wu created the spinosaurus as an early attempt at creating hybrid dinosaurs people believed this theory because of how the spinosaurus looks so different than it does in real life and because the spinosaurus wasn't on either engine or messerati's lists further evidence for this theory is the spinosaurus skeleton in jurassic world this is because the skeleton was far more accurate to the real spinosaurus than the one from the third film well accurate to the spinosaurus at the time since then things have changed and probably will change again however in camp cretaceous third season it was finally debunked as it was revealed that the scorpius rex was dr wu's first attempt at hybrid dinosaurs though i guess technically the spinosaurus is a hybrid dinosaur because like you know the frog d-day and other creature dna that put in to fill in the gaps in the dna but but it's not like the you know indominus rex kind of hybrid scrapped dinosaurs so the jurassic park franchise is no stranger to scrap dinosaurs here's most the ones we know about in the lost world there was originally going to be a dinosaur known as the super raptor which would have been an original dinosaur nothing is actually known about this super raptor besides the fact that it was scrapped because spielberg said it felt like it came straight out of the horror movie and he didn't want to make an alien there's also geo sternbergia which uh well not a dinosaur this pterosaur species technically does appear in the film on a piece of paper but it was originally going to show up during the pterodon nesting sequence that was scrapped for jurassic park 3 there was the carnotosaurus which presumably would have taken the ceratosaurus role in the film the aranasaurus which more than likely would have been part of the hadrosaur heard and baryonyx as mentioned before it was the original main antagonist instead of spinosaurus in jurassic world there's the amontosaurus and the poloticus both of which would have been seen as part of the horror that the gyro speakers would go through and the gigantoraptor which was originally going to be seen as a hologram the innovation center much like the dilophosaur and finally in fallen kingdom the ileosaurus camarosaurus and kikonatasaurus were all present in concept art for the volcano eruption scene however while i call these scrap dinosaurs they're not really scrap dinosaurs as kyle javero has stated that they were just used for concept art and were never intended to be in the film despite that i thought i mentioned them here the friends jurassic park 3 script in 1999 craig rosenberg was brought on by universal to write a script for jurassic park 3. this script was extremely different from the jurassic park 3 we ended up getting as it focused entirely on six college students becoming trapped in isla sorta with dr grant somehow getting involved in the student's dilemma and that is literally all we know about the script he was rejected by joe johnston as while he said the script wasn't poorly written it felt like it was a bad episode of friends jurassic park dinosaur battles developed by vivid universal and released in september 2002 jurassic park dinosaur battles is the second and final attempt the jurassic franchise made at entering the fighting game scene well kinda it's not your standard fighting game instead of fully controlling your dinosaur you just tell them what to do kinda like a pokemon game but not quite you can set your dinosaur to be on the defensive the offensive or just be neutral there's even a flanking option useful for attacking armored targets as for the game's plot well i'll let the game tell you okay junior explorers cabo blanco nature reserve dead ahead prepare yourselves for the trip of a lifetime [Music] once again we do the work while harrison manley explores the back of his eyelids [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] friday today's experiments the most promising to date dinosaur cloning down to under 10 seconds even better subjects are responding to the dinovox computerized calls today i commanded raptor 9 to slash raptor 2 and flee he obeyed my pets my fantastic invincible pet to turn my genius to project primo all right so she catch that basically kids get shredded on an island an unnamed agent comes in to save them and ends up finding a way to control the dinosaurs and then they gotta stop an evil injured scientist the game has been forgotten to time mostly because this game was a remake of another forgotten jurassic park game called scan command jurassic park released the previous year 2001. i say remake but in reality dinosaur battles isn't a remake it's kind of a re-release scan command was essentially the exact same game except it required you to find codes on products to get skills and upgrades for your dinosaurs in game so when that entire system failed to be profitable they just re-released the game without the skin elements strangely in terms of gameplay they didn't do a lot to drastic dinosaur battles that made it different than scan command like stan command has a ton of scrapped content in its game files so you'd think they'd like finish it and release it in the updated version but i guess not some of the scrap content include playable dinosaurs an entire teardown mini game and a ton of skins now take dr court's boat and get everyone off the island yes we will rip this place apart starting with the main computer destroy engine we're free [Music] you did it you stopped quartz cold you were pretty amazing although i might have done things a bit differently aaron all right all right great job now nature can run its course without interference right and we won't have to worry about dr quartz ever again [Music] devils in the desert released from january 2011 to april 2011 jurassic park devils in the desert is a four-issue comic series written and drawn by john bryan this is a very unique comic series as it features not a single dinosaur in the story only pterodons it's also a bit of a western and features no returning characters from the first three films the story is quite simple the pterodons from the end of jurassic park 3 have made their way to mainland usa and are now terrorizing a small western town the academy elections and just straight up murder there's also a seed in this comic where a pterydon battles a polar bear to death at a zoo just kind of comes out of nowhere but yeah that happens devils in the desert is a short comic that i wish could be considered canon for how unique it is jurassic world regenesis regenesis is the rejected jurassic park web comic created by the same team that created the dinosaur protection group and the misrani company viral marketing campaigns was going to tell the story of how dr henry wu returned to isla nublar in 1994 as part of a cleanup operation this operation was in response to a baryonyx attack on costa rica causing [ __ ] to realize that some of their dinosaurs may still be alive it would also reveal that the dilophosaurus featured in the franchise were actually all juveniles and we'd finally see a fully grown dilophosaurus stalking some engine workers sadly the story was rejected but not for any story reasons but because how it would have been presented it would have used google web designer and that was extremely glitchy also the coding that went into the animations and interactable bits were also very very complicated too complicated for universal it seems now to answer two questions you might have the first being what do i mean by rejected jurassic park webcomic well technically cancelled rejected as a much better word as this wasn't a universal backed project it was a pitch and the second question what's this art in the background well these are panels from the three completed issues of regenesis that were created for the pitch so you can read the story it's just not the completed version of the story as read genesis was going to last about 10 chapters jurassic park chaos effect chaos effect was a cancelled cartoon that was officially announced to be in development in 1997 it was in development by dreamworks animation and would have a toy line created by kenner the plot of the cartoon was that scientists had created a bunch of dinosaur hybrids and then jurassic park stuff happens you know dinosaurs get loose and they gotta be stopped but instead of normal people being the ones that ran up to dinosaurs we get these like sci-fi people there was even a terminator style android played to be in the show at one point the show would also have returning characters that look extremely different take eddie carr for example who uh should be dead considering you know he got ripped in two ian malcolm would awesome in the show and would have his iconic power armor and pet t-rex with him i'm willing to bet that pet t-rex was meant to be like the baby t-rex in lost world even roland would return with his pet abomination the show would ultimately be canceled though the toy line was already too far into production to be canned so it was actually released though there were still a good chunk of dinosaur figures that never got released some of these horrible abomination hybrid dinosaurs include the enchilodon the comp stegosus the omega t-rex the tanaconda the velociraptor x raptor alpha thrasher t-rex and the trinops this stuff could only happen in the 90s jurassic park dangerous games written by greg and eric baer jurassic park dangerous games is a five-issue comic series released from september 2011 to january 2012 and tells the story of a cia agent named damn daniel espinoza surviving on isla nublar 11 years after jurassic park iii why is a cia agent on isla nublar because in this universe a drug lord named gabrielle cazarez bought isla nublar and its dinosaurs from the costa rican government and has turned the island into his own criminal empire's fortress pretty weird right well it gets much weirder on the island he meets a woman named francis white who is the leader of a raptor pack shortly before the events of jurassic park she found out that the raptors form a motherly bond with the first creature they see and while working as an engine animal behavior researcher she was the first thing about seven or so velociraptors saw and so she became their mother and just like never left the island and to make things even weirder there's a borderline kaiju sized in kylosaur oh and uh whatever these two dinosaurs are these two species of dinosaur have never been identified people theorize that these ones could be falacaris while this one could be a neo-venator overall though this comic is not liked by fans of the franchise and got extremely negative reviews from critics but hey at least the archaeopteryx is in the story that's pretty cool original dinosaur designs so because they're based on real animals not many of the dinosaurs featured in the films have designs too different from their concept art there is a couple though like the smyosaurus who went through various different color schemes and even had a much less threatening design originally now as for the two original dinosaurs created for the films the indominus rex had a much greener and somewhat spikier design though other pieces of art depicted it having no spikes at all then there's the indoraptor which went through many different designs some of it plain like this one other is a bit crazy like this one with a dilophosaur neck fan and a spiked stegosaurus tail and this one where it's covered head to toe in ankylosaur plates both of these designs also the famous raptor toe claw also being on its hands the gene guard act the gene guard act is a piece of lore created in promotion for fallen kingdom and used during its viral marketing basically the gene guard act is a legal bill passed by the u.s housing committee of science in 1997 in order to protect the dinosaurs and other prehistoric life cloned on isla nublar in isla sorta it basically gave the dinosaurs all the rights that endangered animal species has it also banned injen and the maserati corporation from cloning any more dinosaurs and then in 2003 they revised the act that allowed masrani to clone more dinosaurs boy that turned out really well good job guys man wouldn't it suck if real world governments went back on bills and laws created to protect endangered species and environments boy that would be crazy wouldn't it jurassic park adventures jurassic park adventures is a trilogy of nine canon novels that tell the story of what happened to eric kirby and dr grant after the events of jurassic park iii well okay the second and third installments are the first installment survivor tells the story of eric kirby living in london isla sorna before his eventual meeting with grant and jp3 survivor is also different in the fact that it's actually an in-universe novel you see in the jurassic park universe after jp3 eric kirby wrote the book survivor after telling his story to the un which resulted in him becoming a celebrity the second and third installments prey and flyers on the other hand are set after the events at jp3 and feature some bizarre stuff like dr grant being forced to live on isla sorna by the u.n to protect dinosaurs and the pterosaurs from the end of jp3 attacking universal studios while air congrats are vacationing there with amanda kirby yeah universal studios is being really subtle about their advertising here there's also iggy who's in the first book and he's eric's juvenile iguanodon best friend who is probably dead now since the spinosaurus is just kind of mauling everything on the island these books are obviously meant for little kids and aren't meant to be taken as serious canon jurassic park raptor raptor is a 10 issue comic series released from november of 1983 to october and 1994. it spans across three different titles raptor raptor's attack and raptor's hijack written by steve eggleheart these comics are a sequel to the original film and feature dr grant and ellie being involved in another incident with dinosaurs but this time the military is involved and they want to kill all the raptors then there's also a hunter who wants to take the rest of the dinosaurs back to the mainland so then they gotta stop him there's a plane crash and then they end up in colombia this comic series is notable for being very over the top and crazy for example issue one literally has a t-rex battling tanks muldoon returns yeah somehow he survived being mauled by a raptor and he looks like he didn't even get a scratch there's also a decent amount of panels where you see the velociraptor's point of view and how velociraptors are like by design instinctively like want to kill every single human because they just hate them there's also velociraptors being used by a colombian drug lord as guard dogs there's also a bunch of colombians who believe that the raptors are gods to which dr grant is eventually like maybe they are gods also a gorilla kidnaps ellie and then battles raptors only to die it's an insane comic series drenched in 90s art and cliches i highly recommend checking out the series it's crazy seriously though how did muldoon survive stegosaurus rex here's a quick funny one for the sega genesis dress apart game the game's intro has a t-rex saying sega it's become a pretty big meme in the dress park franchise so i thought i'd throw it in the dinosaurs are all dying this isn't a thing in the films but in the novel continuity the dinosaurs are all dying as revealed towards the end of the lost world novel turns out that injen was feeding the dinosaurs some bad sheep and goat meat which contains a very lethal virus this means that every single dinosaur in eat the sword is dying due to being poisoned by this bad meat well okay not just poisoned meat but poisoned rotten meat as engine decided to throw their failed dinosaur corpses into one spot on the island didn't bury or burn them just drop them in the middle of the forest so then the carnivores on ether sorta went up to the rotten poison meat just started going at it you know i mean foods food but hey at least the herbivores would be okay well no because it's mentioned in the book that even the herbivores will eventually get the poison due to contamination so yeah ease the new blowers firebombed into oblivion and isla sorna is hit by a famine that kills all the dinosaurs the novels are certainly certainly grim park will return in a moment on nbc [Music] what was that sounded like a tyrannosaurus i don't think so sounds bigger jurassic park iii has hit burger king and to satisfy the biggest appetites any whopper value meal will get upsized to king-size fries and a king-sized drink for free plus you could win a family trip for four to islands of adventure at universal orlando resort jurassic park tree at burger king you better hurry before it's extinct jurassic park continues starring sam neal and laura dern the evolution of claire the evolution of claire is a tie-in novel released in 2018 that tells claire daring's history from her years as a university student all the way until the events of jurassic world written by tess trapay this novel reveals some pretty interesting lore ranging from dinosaur populations at jurassic world to claire wanting to get into politics so she could change some laws after she was unable to save a dog from a neglectful owner for six months also it confirms that rexy's name is actually rexy like they call her that in the novel so it's not just a fan name this novel is also cat into the films as colin trevero has directly confirmed it probably the weirdest bit of lore revealed in this novel is that masrani teased jurassic world in the early 2000s by sending random packages containing archaeology tools a card with a t-rex stamp a compass and a hologram displaying the message they're coming may 30th 2005 to journalists social media influencers actors pop stars and college professors hey what do you know i'm actually writing this part of the script on may 30th what are the odds but yeah you heard right 2005 meaning that in the jurassic park universe i guess social media was a huge thing in the early 2000s i mean how else can it be social media influencers i've personally never read the book myself but it's got good reviews so i'd say check it out if you're interested i mean this is literally one of three jurassic park novels aimed at adults so there's also that you know the three allosaurus designs while it's common for dinosaurs in the jurassic park franchise to have slightly different appearances in some pieces of media take the velociraptors for example the allosaurus is unique in that it has three main designs first there's the fallen kingdom design which wasn't well received by people so it was retconned that that was just a juvenile then in jurassic world evolution the allosaurus received a redesign that was much better received but then the battle of big rock came out with a new allosaurus design and so within just two years the allosaurus received three different designs while these designs aren't as noticeably different than say the ignatosaurus and evolution and dominion the fact it's got three designs within just two years is a bit strange fazzoli's fazzoli's is a fast food chain that i've actually never heard of until now they're known for their italian food which i gotta imagine is probably better than mcdonald's italian food but they're on this iceberg because in 2003 they partnered with universal to release toys as part of their kids meal called jurassic bones jurassic park institute these toys were eggs that have opened and revealed dinosaur bones you put together and a card giving you information about the dinosaur the skeleton is of along with a link to jurassicparkinstitute.com an educational website to give you more information about the dinosaurs games and puzzles thankfully most of the website has been archived so you can explore it via wayback machine the jurassic park 3 spinosaurus returns fans of the franchise have been hopeful for the spinosaurus to show up again in the films though it doesn't look like it ever will however the original spinosaurus featured in jurassic park 3 actually returned in camp cretaceous season 4 and 5. after the events at dress spark 3 and pretty much slaughtering everything there the spinosaurus was captured and moved by the masrani corporation to another island called manticore island an island used exclusively for research this island also has biomes built into it like rooms that are different biomes but they don't look like rooms think what monarch did to skull island in godzilla vs kong and so they dropped our favorite spinosaurus into the desert biome not the swamp or the jungle by him but uh the one by emma would hate being in the absolute most also camp cretaceous finally gave the spinosaurus an in-universe name asset 87 not a very fancy name but uh a name's a name the fox version of the lost world so did you know there's a variation of the lost world that you may have actually seen before airing i'm pretty sure only once on november 1st 1998 the lost world jurassic park aired on fox and for some reason had several deleted scenes added back into the movie the first being the ludlow board meeting scene i talked about way earlier in the video and the roland and aj scene i talked about earlier as well my only guess is that these two scenes were deleted from the film really late into production and so the copy that fox got was actually the second to last version of the film toro in fallen kingdom so toro is a carnotosaurus featured in camp cretaceous and was the main antagonist of the first season though he also reappears in the show's second season where he was thought to have been killed though it's been revealed he's alive as he's in the trailer for season 5 of the show anyways there's been a recent theory going around that toro was actually in fallen kingdom it is the carnotosaurus that appears the very end of the film that rips eli mills in half with the help of rexy people say this because the carnotosaurus seems to be uniquely scarred and when the footage is lit up he does look quite similar to toro unless toro dies in season 5 of can't cretaceous it's entirely possible that this really is toro jurassic world ancient futures this is the original sequel to jurassic world this version of the film was thought of by colin trevero and would have had the dinosaurs being sent off to england and because that's a pretty long travel via boat a good chunk of the movie like 50 or 60 percent would be set on bespoke one of the reasons why this script was scrapped was because according to producers audiences wouldn't be ready for it because apparently the film would have had the dinosaurs go free in the mainland much sooner than fallen kingdom so it would basically be a noah's ark with dinosaurs film followed by dominion four years before jurassic world dominion this film was also going to be really long almost three hours so that probably didn't help ian malcolm would also have a much larger role in this film being present throughout the boat ride apparently even trying to sabotage it at one point though this was apparently a rumor and had never been confirmed though i personally think it's legit seeing how ian malcolm has like no role in fallen kingdom at all so they probably threw him in there as an apology for scrapping his entire role in the plot but yeah this film ended up getting scrapped in favor of fallen kingdom other park builders what do you think of jurassic park park simulators you'll probably instantly think of operation genesis evolution or evolution too but there's actually three other jurassic park park simulators as briefly mentioned earlier in the video there's the two mobile games jurassic park builder and jurassic world the game for ios and android jurassic park builder was taken offline in 2020 though you can still play jurassic world the game but there's also the game jurassic park 3 park builder this is a park simulator game created by konami for the game boy advance that featured quite a few dinosaurs in fact uh has 140 dinosaurs in the game which means that this game has the most dinosaurs out of every single dress park game ever released so far it's a decently sized park builder for the gameboy advance and features a ton of unique artwork for each of the dinosaurs it's also the first park builder of the jurassic park franchise predating even operation genesis also while not official in any way i gotta mention the zoo tycoon mod jurassic park pack the amount of hours i spent on this game in this mod god damn what a great time rest in peace sue tycoon rest in peace michael creighton's jurassic park script so originally michael craden was signed on to write jurassic park but his script was rejected despite what the opening credits of the film may tell you but hey he got paid five hundred thousand dollars to just write the script so uh that's not too bad his script was extremely faithful to the original novel with a few changes for example john hammond's death was completely different instead of copies killing him velociraptors would maul him to death after he saved his grandchildren there was also some minor stuff change but for the most part it would have been very faithful or as faithful as you can be when you've gotta trim a novel down to an hour and a half or two hour film michael creighton himself even said that his script only had about 20 percent of the novel's content and several scenes had to be cut for practical reasons along with the violence being toned down carnosaur carnosaur is a classic mockbuster one of the most well known at least released in 1993 and directed by adam simon connosaur tells the story of a mad scientist trying to wipe out humanity and replace them with dinosaurs pretty sure that's also a spider-man villain i talked about before in the video but anyways the film's plot has nothing to do with jurassic park outside of cloning dinosaurs it is actually based on a book called carnosaur so why is this film considered a mockbuster then well because the film entered production in 1993 so that could capitalize on the jurassic park marketing campaign and so it was quickly put together with its limited special effects when it was finally released on may 14th 1993 a month before jurassic park it was well it wasn't received all too well a lot of the film's criticism was aimed at its effects which didn't look too great in 1993 and looked even worse when he realized that this was meant to capitalize on jurassic park a film with special effects that still hold up almost 30 years later while carnosaur wasn't a hit critically it made its money back and then some on a budget of 850 000 it made 1.8 million and so the connoisseur series was born yes series february 1995 connoisseur 2 was released and as often looked at as the superior film though people still don't really like this film very much unlike the previous film this one and the rest of the series would all be straight to dvd releases although connoisseur 2 was intended to be released in theaters in 1984 but that plan fell through in november 1996 connoisseur 3 primal species was released and for five years that was pretty much it for the series that was until november 2001 when the film raptor came out this was an official spin-off the connor serve series and used a ton of connoisseur stock footage this film went under the radar and is often forgotten about though and finally in september 2006 the final installment of the connoisseur series released yet another spin-off titled the eden formula also known as tyrannosaurus rex which is a way better title this is often looked at as the worst the series though as not only does it rip off jurassic park but also die hard and it also reuses a ton of footage from the first three connoisseur films i am honestly surprised there hasn't been a carnosaur six now with the jurassic world trilogy out oh yeah i forgot to mention in connor one there's a dude trying to create a virus to impregnate women with dinosaur embryos yeah the connoisseur franchise has always been pretty weird cancelled idw comics in july 2016 it was announced by idw that several jurassic world comics would be released in 2017. jurassic fans were hyped up as the last comic released was in 2012 so they'd gone like four years with a single comic and since that announcement they've gone a decade without a single comic yes strangely no jurassic world comic was released in 2017 and it wasn't even like they were like announced to be cancelled by idw they just didn't release no art of them exists the public and idw just pretends as if they never made this announcement it's really weird mailing a scotch marmo's jurassic park script after croydon's jurassic park script was rejected emelia scotch marmo was brought on to rewrite it in 1991. this script was interesting to say the least it drops both a copy opening from the novel and the raptor opening from the film that we ended up getting in favor of amber being looked at via microscope the film also has a completely different ending where muldoon lives and escapes the island with grant ali and the kids while john hammond walks off into the wilderness refusing to abandon the park only for the final seed of the film to be him collapsing on the ground drowning in a puddle as a mosquito drinks his blood also the t-rex in the film tries to attack the helicopter as it's taking off even biting down on at one point there's a lot of changes here but what's easily the most interesting one is how ian malcolm doesn't exist in the film ian malcolm and dr grant's characters were actually merged together as one character with the character ultimately taking the name of dr grant instead of ian malcolm original casting the jurassic park franchise like all films had many different actors either offered roles or auditioned for roles but didn't get the part here's some of the more interesting casting history for the role dr grant both harrison ford and william hurt were offered the role for ian malcolm jim carrey auditioned for the role but lost to jeff goldblum for ellie sadler robin wright was offered the part but turned it down walkway that patro and helen hunt auditioned for john hammond sean connery was considered for the part and finally for owen grady josh brolin was offered the role but turned it down john krasinski was also in talks to potentially play owen well he was in talks to play a dinosaur tamer in the film that i assume eventually evolved into owen hop on promotion in promotion for jurassic park 3's home media release universal made a deal with the cell phone company hop on to produce quote the world's first disposable cell phone which would be available as an in-package offer once you bought the film out of the 5 000 cell phones produced only 1 000 of them were actually redeemed but out of the 1000 cell phones redeemed zero actually made it to their winners as the promotion was cancelled because the handsets couldn't be finished on time though there were sample phones shown off that were actually just modified nokia handsets but uh yeah that whole situation was a mess but don't worry though the 1000 winners instead received a 30 check and a free dvd there was also a promotional video made for it which i'll put in the description below because it's pretty funny but in the video a hop-on executive tells you not to throw away these disposable cell phones because they'll one day become collector's items so you know the first disposable cell phone you shouldn't dispose of amanda kirby made the indominus rex so this is a really weird theory that amanda kirby from jurassic park 3 is responsible for the creation of the indominus rex this is because she fails to close the pterodon avery which causes the pterodon to escape which then leads to vic hoskins leading a team to a isla sorna to wipe out the jp3 pterodons in between gp3 and jurassic world this led to vic getting trust from injid and mizrani and was then put in charge their security which of course led to him working with dr wu to create the indominus rex so the theory is basically saying that amanda kirby failing to close the average created a series of events that led to the indominus rex's creation this is one of those fan theories that's like true but they're not really significant at all like technically you could be like the real villain of star wars was palpatine's parents because if the parents didn't have palpatine they're the clone wars the empire the first order city turtle order 66 invader etc wouldn't have happened i'm actually mean to the person who came up with this theory but i just think it's a very nothing theory this theory reminds me of another theory that i was good upon this iceberg but i decided not to but i guess i'll technically be talking about it so whatever and that's why people often like to say if nedry just said no in jurassic park one the events of the movies wouldn't have happened and it's like yeah i guess but that's not really a theory that just kind of like saying if the plot didn't happen then the plot wouldn't have happened you know it's like okay jurassic park survival jurassic park survival is probably the most famous cancelled jurassic park game which means it probably should have been tier one but uh oh well a little late for that now being developed by savage entertainment jurassic park survival or jurassic park x as it would have been called on the xbox for some reason was a movie tie-in game for jurassic park 3 and had the potential to be one of the best games in that console generation story-wise you'd play as a dude named david vaughn trapped on isla sorna after being sent out by the us government to research the dinosaur behavior population at isla sorna however a rival organization launches a full-scale attack and kills all your allies leaving you alone in the island with enemy soldiers and a ton of dinosaurs raging from the t-rex spinosaurus velociraptors compies ankylosauruses dilophosauruses and even troadons this would be an open world like game where you'd find and rescue surviving members of your team travel through forests swaps hatcheries camp sites underground cave networks and abandoned outposts so while this was a movie tying game it had nothing to do with jurassic park 3's plot and was doing its own thing jurassic park survival's gameplay was also extremely interesting it reportedly played like a lot of the classic tomb raider games meeting a lot of third-person shooting and puzzle solving they would also be the problem of the dinosaurs as several species of dinosaurs would attempt to lure players the traps call in reinforcements etc so what went wrong well universal wasn't super happy with the game's progress and so they took savage entertainment off the game though they didn't cancel the game they just simply delayed it but they never found another developer so the game was eventually cancelled before it was cancelled several game journalists and game news outlets were hyping this game up saying that while past director park games had been questionable in terms of quality this one looked to finally break the trend with some even saying this game would end up as one of the best looking games on the playstation 2. it's a real shame this game is never finished sight c so this is a really weird one during the toy campaign for the lost world jurassic park most toys the logo site b on them to tease the people that this film took place on a different island but then a few years later on a few pieces of jurassic park 3 merchandise there were logos saying site c surf for survival this confused a lot of people over the years as there is no sight c well there's the island from camp cretaceous but i don't think that counts there was a description of sight c that was given on some merch but it doesn't really tell us anything other than it's a tropical place fans of the franchise originally thought that either this was scrap material for jurassic park 3 that accidentally made its way to shelves while others thought it was simply referencing the isla nublar resort from the first film because isla nublar is directly mentioned in sightsee's description well years later we finally got an answer to what site c is well it's a retcon that's obviously it wasn't referencing before but uh in jurassic world evolution ian malcolm refers to islamoreta as site c remember how i said there was no site c like a minute ago yeah that's old information this is new information try to keep up but like i said this little retcon well a kind of icon jurassic world evolution's canonicity is a bit of a debate but regardless of all that what was the sightseeing logo back in the day referring to well in recent years two theories have come out both of which branch off from the scrapped content theory from back in the day these theories being that jurassic park three was supposed to take place on isla nublar or a new third island there is evidence for this one piece of evidence is that isla sorta in jp3 looks radically different than it did in the lost world instead of redwood forests now we got jungles and swamps much like isla nublar now in universe it's been retconned that this is the case because jp3 takes place on the opposite side of the island which has a different environment but the real world explanation is that joe johnston wanted to move away from what was done in the lost world so basically too long didn't read site c may have once been a scrapped island or was the original name for the easler nubla resort and somehow despite being scrapped sightsee ended up on a few pieces of merch motion comics in late 2019 jurassic park comic fans finally got something similar to a dress spark comic a four-part series in motion comics these comics include part 1 a rising tide which tells us some more information about the mosasaurus at the beach scene in fallen kingdom part 2 dinosaur crossing which tells the story of a man being caught in the middle of a fight between an ankylosaur and a triceratops part 3 the roar that rules it all which gives us a backstory to the t-rex at the zoo scene from fallen kingdom this story also reveals that the lion wasn't actually killed and finally part 4 dinosaur territory proceed with caution this serves as a sequel to the battle of big rock short film and also reveals that the allosaurus returned to the campsite in the morning it almost kills a reporter i actually scratched that i i think it does actually kill her only four of these short films were ever produced and honestly i think they're a bit of missed potential the animation and voice acting kinda ruins these motion comics for me but hey it's some more lore so i can't complain too much you can find all four of these motion comics in the jurassic world youtube channel william monahan's jurassic park four around 2002 and 2003 william monahan of kingdom of heaven the departed the gambler and edge of darkness fame was brought on to write the script for jurassic park iv and while the script was completed sadly we don't know much about it we do know that ian malcolm and john hammond were heavily rumored to appear in the script and we also know that the film would have broken away from the islands as in 2003 producer kathleen kennedy said that mohan's script broke away from the costa rican setting we also know a couple directors that were attached to this film originally alex prius of the crow gods of egypt irobot in dark city fame was signed on before dropping out breck eisner of sahara the crazies and the last witch hunter fame was also brought on but again left the project and sadly that's all we know about this version of dress part 4 jurassic world live jurassic world live tour is a stage show premiering in september 2019 that tells the story of a woman named kate walker as she studies a troodon named genie but of course some evil corporation steps in during the abdominus wrecks incidents in jurassic world and takes genie to a military base in chile the plot then jumps forward to after the events of the film and kate along with her friends rescue genie and then all them and back on isla nublar to battle mercenaries on the island together with the help of rexy and blue they're able to defeat all the mercenaries and leave jeannie and her new babies on isla nublar to live in p oh right there yeah they're probably dead aren't they surprisingly the events of jurassic world live tour are actually canon to the films so i guess in between the events the first two jurassic world films rexy has a fight with some flamethrower dudes which makes rexy the second dress apart character to fight it do the flamethrower this show ran throughout the united states from september 2019 with the final showing being in april 2020 it would have presumably gone on a lot longer but uh you know the pandemic began manga released in 1993 jurassic park the manga is simply a retelling of the first jurassic park film you know except for now it's a manga written by kazumi sakamato this manga does have some differences with the film for example the manga begins with lex and tim arriving on the island instead of the whole raptor sequence nedry has a conspirator who's a combination of ray arnold and dodson nederi also encounters an entire pack of dilophosaurus instead of just two i think it was two in the first film right and rexy attempts to kill the survivors after killing the raptors instead of doing her little roar pose in the film sadly i don't think there's been an official english translation of this but i could be wrong i do know there was an official thai translation though so there's that side note while i was looking for information on this i came across this awesome japanese jurassic park promotional magazine i don't understand japanese at all so i obviously can't read it but it looks pretty cool you can tell it's got behind the scenes info some bits of lore about the park that are obviously not in canada anymore and uh yeah just it just looks cool i'd honestly buy a copy of this but uh i'm not spending 250 on something i can't even read the lost world website in 1997 universal created a website for the lost world jurassic park that was an in-universe website at first the website just seems to be a trivia behind the scenes hub for the first two films but if you click on the button to the lost world you're transported into a point-and-click jurassic park adventure where you can investigate jon hammond's desk and travel to injen's website where you can then read about the rules ninja employees must follow read about the dinosaurs engines cloned and even go through engine employees personal emails a bit of a breach of privacy there but you can do that what's most interesting about this website at least to me is that this website was up and available to explore until 2020 meaning that it was up and operational for 23 years you don't see many promotional websites up that long thankfully the wayback machine was able to archive the website or at least most of it so you can go and explore it that way jurassic park aftermath jurassic park aftermath is a cancelled fan project that would have allowed players to explore isla nublar after the events of the first film the creator of the game not only used the first film as a reference but also used the original novel and even elements of jurassic park trespasser the game began development in 2013 and a ton of progress was made in the games island raptor ai etc like i said though this game was cancelled as the last update for the game was in 2015 followed by a 6 hour asmr time lapse experience video in 2019 and then nothing no updates on its youtube or facebook page i can't seem to find out if this is true but a couple of comments on the facebook page claim that the game was shut down by universal which could be true regardless this fan project never saw the light of day return to jurassic park return to jurassic park is the sequel to the jurassic park raptor trilogy released from april 1995 to february 1996 this comic was written by several authors including steve eggleheart and tom and mary bierbaum it tells the story of john hammond hiring dr grant ellie muldoon ian malcolm and the iconic character of edgar prather to return to isla nublar to research the green flame what's the green flame well it's a mysterious spring flame that's never explained it was probably going to be explained at one point but well i'll get to that in a second while investigating on his la nublar the team comes into contact with a bunch of foes the t-rex biosin agents and mercenaries disguised as us soldiers also the edgar prather dude murders a bioscent agent because he thinks that she knows something about the green flame and then starting with issue 5 the comic becomes a prequel and tells the story of abby and derek who end up having to face a duke named dr gustavius who wants to create hyper-intelligent dinosaurs and the green flame is never mentioned again so why didn't we ever get an explanation for the green flame well because the series got cancelled it's unknown how many issues tops comics wanted to return the jurassic park series to have but after issue 9 the series was cancelled most likely in favor of adapting the lost world and so after issue 9's release the tops jurassic park continuity came to a close side note you gotta love how in the story john hammond has this like sci-fi submarine jurassic park project evolution in 2002 universal had a jurassic park haunted house during their halloween horror nights called jurassic park extinction well it was gonna be called dry spark extinction but was eventually just renamed to project evolution the story behind this haunted house was that a mad scientist was using human and dinosaur dna to create monster-like hybrids when it was finally opened that october it featured various dinosaurs both dead and alive and human dinosaur hybrids like the dilophosaurus man however after halloween horror nights ended that year jurassic park project evolution faded into obscurity the lysine contingency this was injun's failed attempt at keeping the dinosaurs and surviving if they'd escaped the park basically dr wu altered the dinosaur's dna and removed their ability to produce the amino acid lysine this forced the dinosaurs to depend on lysine supplements the park's vet staff would give them so if a dinosaur were to escape they'd eventually fall into a coba and die because they don't have any lysine in their body they were so sure this would work but it turns out the dinosaurs don't actually need the supplements because they just naturally eat lysine rich food while carnivores can get lysine from eating the herbivores while this topic isn't really brought up in the films minus a deleted scene i mentioned earlier it plays a crucial role in the telltale game and as a gameplay mechanic in operation genesis this mechanic being if a dinosaur escapes their enclosure they just die jurassic park the ride online adventure jurassic park the ride online adventure was a flash promotional game created by universal to promote jurassic park the ride and it's rather infamous for being really scary well not to adults probably but for kids this is pretty scary the game has you walking around corridors in almost complete silence with no music all while knowing there's a velociraptor lurking around trying to kill you the game's plot has you playing as the park manager when a disgruntled employee sabotages the park and releases a velociraptor which results in the building you're exploring to be pretty much abandoned the game is filled with creepy moments that would probably traumatize me if i played it as a kid here's two of them warning one of them is a jump scare tell me it's a really interesting game that i think every jurassic park fan should play since it's like one of two jurassic park horror games out there trespasser secret ending during the level ozymandias and jurassic park trespasser if you instantly turn around when starting the level and turn on the bones cheat code you'll see an invisible walk away if you follow it you'll be warped to an abandoned outpost at the top of a mountain where john hammond will then read out the poem ozymandias the game will then abruptly end to tell you the truth this ending is kind of haunting especially since you could find a random dead body on the mountain feels almost like you're not supposed to find this from an antique land who said two vast and trunkless legs of stone stand in the desert near them on the sand half-sunker shattered visage lies whose frown and wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command tell that its sculptor well those passions read which yet survive stamped on these lifeless things the hand that mocked them and the heart that fed and on the pedestal these words appear my name is ozamandius king of kings look on my works ye mighty and despair nothing beside remains round the decay of that colossal wreck boundless and bare the lone and level sounds stretch far away so that was
