[Music] hello everyone and welcome to preston live tonight we're going to be doing a teaching uh thank you band thank you rebecca thank you everyone for logging on uh for this session i'm just going to read out a few live a few comments on there benji i recognize your name because i see you on here often jill thank you greg yeah greg i see your name often as well stephen i think we prayed for you the other day hey steven stand hey james okay so we're gonna be uh going through a short teaching tonight matt wilson yes yes pray for me tonight oh yeah jessica yeah awesome awesome well a few of our staff team are online it's great to see you guys joining us um we're going to just go through a short teaching session today and i want to thank you all for logging on in case you didn't know i written a book i've written a book and it's coming out on the 28th of may called life on fire and i think i have a copy right here and it feels great to be able to hold a copy of a book that you've written um and i remember when i kind of got to the end of writing the book and i was like i think i've written i don't know how many thousand words maybe it was 55 or 65 thousand i said oh recently 5000 watches now i had no idea you knew that many words so it's amazing uh to be at this point and not just that a book has been written that's something to celebrate but it's the fact that it captures a core message that god gave us um some years ago now and uh it's a message about purity a message about prayer a message about just uh insight on this generation that we're living in and what's going on in the spirit realm and just the need for us to be sensitive in responding to the call of the lord uh in a consecration and so there's lots of revelation in this i believe will be a blessing to many of you and tonight we're going to be touching on one of the things i touched on the book that's in some in some parts briefly called at the inner room and so before we go into that i think it's good we pray though father we thank you for spirit of wisdom and revelation uh we thank you for your grace upon us today and we ask that father there will be just the abundance of understanding that you would cause us to not just be hearers but doers of your word father even as your word goes forth i thank you for utterance for your waters to come out with utterance but also i thank you father for the anointing that shifts us from a place of complacency to a place of activity in the spirit to the place of uh momentum father where there's been stagnation father right now we just stand against every stagnation of the enemy and we're speaking right now that there will be momentum over our walk with you a momentum of our journey our seeking your face in this season in jesus name amen amen all right so i want to say uh you want to turn your bibles to um second kings i'm going to be teaching from second kings tonight and just give me a moment here so second kings we're going to look looking at second kings and we're going to look in a very interesting story about jehu how god anointed him and called him out from the crowd and it's a real great prophetic picture what i believe the lord is going to be doing a lot of in this time that we live in you know in the days of jesus there were many people that lived in that day but failed to realize the significance of that hour uh we may read the new testament right now and think like oh i wish i was there to see jesus heal the sick i wish i was there to see jesus raid the raise the dead i wish i was there to see jesus do all these amazing miracles and yes it would have been amazing to be there but do you realize there were people that were there but never actually realized the significance of the moment that they were living in and we are equally living in a very significant hour and it's exciting to be alive at this time uh in history but we can miss the significance of this hour uh by a lack of discernment lack of sensitivity just being distracted by the cares of this world and not tuning into what god's doing at this time and i believe god is wanting to raise up uh reformers god is wanting to raise up not just revivalists but reformers that would change uh the whole context that would change society and not just those that would impact the church but those that would impact the fabric of society with the presence of god you know when we think about people like daniel you know daniel was a prophet and god used him in an incredible way but he was actually in the political arena he wasn't a governmental arena i don't believe daniel had a pulpit to preach on like many preachers and pastors and prophets and evangelists and apostles today he didn't have a pulpit he wasn't preaching on instagram or facebook or youtube like i am right now daniel was a prophet in the political arena he was a praying prophet and through his life of devotion to god uh he was being used to really transform the narrative transform uh the whole history of a nation because of his obedience to god and you know god is wanting to do more of that in these days that we live in because these are not the days where it's just about the man of god the woman of god you know preaching a sermon in fact i want to say many of us watching right now you may never do what i'm doing right now you may never stand on a platform to preach in in this kind of context in front of a church but you're cold just like i am called you're called of god for a specific purpose and you cannot afford to undermine your calling because you're not having a significant influence whatever that means okay because how it defines how we define significant on earth is very different to how heaven divine significance but we we're not really going to go too much into that right now but the point is we are called to have the impact and danielle was in the marketplace having that impact not necessarily on the platform and your coach have that same kind of impact and god is wanting to raise up reformers revivalists who will herald the message of the kingdom not just the gospel of salvation the message of the kingdom about the king's reign the king's dominion the king's rule and the first place that starts is in us and so uh when we read the life of jehu the story of what happened to jehu we get a bit of a prophetic picture as to one of the ways in which god is going to be doing that in these days that we live in these significant times that we live in and so i want to encourage you to turn bibles to second kings um 2nd kings 9. and i'm just going to read a few verses here he says and elijah the prophet called one of the sons of the prophet and said to him get yourself ready and take this flask of oil in your hand and go to rammoth gilead now when you arrive at that place look there for jehu the son of jehoshaphat the son of nimshi and go in and make him rise up from among his associates and take him to an inner room then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say thus says the lord i have anointed you king over israel then open the door then open the door and flee and do not delay so this so the young man the servant of the prophet went to ram of gilead and when he arrived when he arrived there where the captains of the army sitting and he said i have a message for you commander jehu said for which one of us and he said for you commander then he arose and went into the house and he poured the oil on his head and he said to him thus says the lord god of israel i have anointed you king over the people of the lord over israel you shall strike down the house of ahab your master that i may avenge the blood of the servants of the prophets i read again that i may avenge the the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the servants of the lord at the hand of j at the hand of jezebel for the whole house of ahab shall perish and i will cut off from ahab all the male in israel both bond and free so i will make the house of ab like the house of jeroboam the house of nibir the like the house of bashar the son of ahijah then the dogs shall eat jezebel on this on the plot of ground at jezreel and there shall be known to bury her and he opened the door and fled okay i'm gonna i'm gonna actually read a bit further because there is a there's a portion here i'm gonna touch on a bit later as well that's relevant to this so this is a big big chunk of reading uh this evening so uh just just follow along i'm now in first sec second kings 9 11. then jehu came out to the servant of his master and said to to him is it well that the servant said to judy is he well why did the madman do we call him the son of the prophet the man why did he come to you and then jehu said to them you know you know the man in his bible and then they said it's a lie tell us now so he said thus and thus he spoke to me saying thus says the lord i have anointed you king over israel then each man hastened to take his garment and put it under jehu on the top of the steps and they blew the trumpets saying jehu is king so this is amazing because we are reading about the transformation of a person one moment jehu was just a commander just hanging out with his friends and the next moment he is declared king and the journey that he went through how god raised him up how god anointed him i believe there's something really key about that and you see when god wants to do something on the earth he often looks for an individual that he prepares for his assignments now this was a suddenly moment for jehu but this was not a suddenly moment for god jehu had been prepared all his life for this specific moment where god was going to announce him as king to the nation jehu was probably not aware of the calling of god in his life what i find really interesting as well about this is the you know jehu uh the the name jehu had already been spoken to elijah the prophet okay elijah was then commanded to pass that on so the anointing that elijah was meant to release over jehu he asked elisha to do it okay so elijah didn't do it though elisha then commissioned one of his servants the sons of the prophet to come and anoint jehu and for several years actually the name jehu had been on the mind of the prophet god had been speaking to his prophets about a generation that he was raising up i'm using jehovah's type of generation god was already speaking to his prophet about a generation that he was going to raise up to overthrow the influence of jezebel over the nation and that generation had no idea about it jehu had no idea that god had been speaking to elijah that god has been speaking to elijah and now that elijah had passed on that message to some of the prophets you had no idea and that had gone on years in advance before this anointing was released over jehu now how does that relate to us today i believe we're living like i said in the start of this uh preach a significant generation and many people do not realize the significance of this hour that we're living in that god has prepared us for such a time as this and when you begin to listen to the headlines of heaven when you begin to listen to the sound of the prophetic voice from heaven what god is saying for now you would realize that this is a special time we're living in now you might say well other generations believe they were living in a special time well i don't know about all the other generations i know god did some amazing things in years past but i am convinced we are living in one of the most significant times in history more than ever obviously we're closer to the return of jesus and things that heating or things are building up in the realm of spirit there's an intensity there is a there's a momentum being released and we know this that before jesus returns there will be the greatest outpouring of god across the earth with everyone why do i say that so boldly you might say well i've heard that said before but i'm yet to see the outpouring of god i don't want you to get jaded i don't want to get discouraged i don't want to get to a place where you're just tired of hearing that god is actually going to move say well i heard that before and i've not seen it i am one of those that i am convinced that god is going to move like we have never seen before before the return of jesus and we are nearing more than ever the generation that will see that either i see it or my children see it regardless of which way it is i am going to make sure i sow my seed of prayer i position myself in faith to prepare the way for what god wants to do this is a very significant generation and many people in this generation have no idea of the significance of the hour that we're living in you know the bible says before the return of jesus the bible says actually the glory of the latter house when you read that in the prophetic scriptures you can replace house with the body of christ the bride of christ in a sense the glory of the latter house the glory of the of the people of god before the glory of god the glory of the people of god be uh in the of the latter house will be greater than the former in other words the glory of the church before jesus returns will be greater than the glory that the book that the church in the book of acts worked in or that that the early church walked in that revivals of past you know we've experienced them and we heard about them we've read stories about moves of god and we crave and we cry for that right now but i want to say to you what is coming is far greater than anything we have heard or know about so combine the revivals of old combine the uh you know uh hebrides revival combine the azusa revival you know combine all these amazing moves of god combine them together with the book of acts and what is ahead of us i believe is far greater than that in fact as a ministry one of our core scriptures is joel 2 28 and joel 220 says i will pour in the last days i will pour out my spirit on all flesh and if we're all in a room together right now you know what i'd say i would say say o flesh say all flesh because god wants the power to be an offline when all flesh does not mean just uh you know white flesh or black flesh or hindu flesh actually all flesh means all flesh we're gonna see the move of god in all nations and there is a generation that will prepare the way for that and jehu is a picture of that generation and so i'm trying to just prepare the ground right now for what i'm about to go into what led to jehu's anointing what led to jehu's impact he had to hear a prophetic word about his identity and what he was called to do before he was unlocked into the fullness of what god had called him to do you might be watching this and you have no idea what god's called you to you have no idea of the prophecy that's hanging over your head you have no idea of why you're on this planet and when you begin to have an idea of why god placed you here is like things begin to unlock within you this is why we love the prophetic ministry because it starts to unravel things that are hidden it's a revelatory ministry that helps us to see what our natural eyes cannot see however god is calling us not just the people that are prophetic but people that walk with him in the interim so let's journey with this story right here the son of the prophet was given a prophetic word and his prophetic word was to go and find somebody and i believe that person jehu is a picture of this generation that the lord wants to raise up now look at this it says in verse 2 when you arrive at the place look there for jehu the son of joseph the son of nishi the son yeah the son initially and go in and make him rise from among his associates now this is absolutely critical make him arise from among his associates when god has a special mission he often will put a demand on a life for a special lifestyle when god wants to accomplish certain things in a nation in a generation in a family in a place he will look for individuals that he can start to entrust with dimensions of his grace and for him to entrust them with those dimensions he starts by separating them and calling them to lifestyle so jehu was very comfortable with his companions jehu was living a life where he was just fitting in with the crowd but for him to be used as a reformer to change the nation he had to be separated from the crowd in order to be sent back to the crowd to cause a shift in the culture god has to call you out and then he anoints you while you're out of that context so that you can be sent back into the context to make a difference see a boat would continue to remain on water as long as the water does not get into the boat and you see in our generation today so many people are wanting to make an impact for god but they wanted to make an impact for god by becoming like the culture they're called to change now i'm not trying to say we become weirdos i mean we look at life of john the baptist and we think wow what a crazy guy he's eating locust and wilderness no one can really relate to him but he had to be that radical because of the change he was called to bring to the culture he had to be so different in his lifestyle that his lifestyle broke so much conviction and from the place of separation god was able to use him to bring impact now what i am not saying is you need to go and hide away in a cave somewhere and don't have any relationship with non-believers and don't have any context where you actually relate to the world that's not what i'm saying there's a difference and you have to know this between being in the world and being of the world and this needs to be made clear and clearer for believers in the 21st century because today it seems like believers are not walking and discernment to understand that we cannot be of the world we cannot be living in the culture the system the way the world dresses the way the world talks the way the world posts certain types of things on social media the way the world live their lifestyle the way the world spend their time the way the world joke and jess the way the world do their things there has to be a difference in your lifestyle to the lifestyle of the person that doesn't know jesus and hasn't committed a life to him and haven't come under his government many christians know jesus as savior but they don't know him as lord because when you know him as lord when he is lord over your life you don't enter into debates with him what he says is what goes and if you're gonna receive his spirit a spirit of lordship which is the holy spirit then that spirit of lordship holy spirit would cause you to live a holy life so if you're not living a holy life guess what you're not under the government of the spirit and if you're not living in life you're obviously gonna be under the influence of the world and matt wilson preach an amazing message last week about all the trappings of the world and the lies that many believers are stepping into so this message i'm preaching right now is for people who will call themselves christians listen there has to be a difference in the way we talk there has to be a difference in the way we live for some christians they get around their non-christian friends and their non-christian friends are the ones influencing them because they come away from those conversations and they start to swear and they start to think that the world and they start to talk like the world it's because when they get around those non-christian friends right those in the worldly system are stronger in darkness than they are in the light i'm gonna say that again in fact i'll say that again but before i do that i'm gonna just give you a context jesus was friend of sinners right jesus was the friend of many sinners but when he got into their context they weren't the ones influencing him they weren't the one uh uh kind of determining how he lived he wasn't trying to conform to their system and their way of thinking right when he when they got into his environment he dominated the spiritual environment to the degree that they came under the influence of the atmosphere that he was carrying so we know what that means he was stronger in the light than they were in the darkness because he was stronger in light than they were in darkness when he got around them he was the one influencing them even if it was a subconscious influence because listen what do you what you do not consciously stand against you often will subconsciously come under so it's not a case of you hang around non-believers and you you enter into a battle with them verbally and all that kind of stuff no it's i'm talking about a spiritual atmosphere when you get around unbelievers and people that don't live for christ if they're stronger in their addiction then you are in the light of god you know what's going to be influenced in the atmosphere they will influence the atmosphere now you may get around them and you may be stronger in the light than they are in the darkness and they may be louder with their mouths but from the spirit realm perspective you're the one that has the spiritual authority over that situation are you is anyone hearing me today listen god has called you to be in the world but not of the world so when you enter into the worldly system you're called to change it not conform to it we are called to be agent of transformation but how can we change a system when we have very we have um we have allowed the very nature of that system to exist in our lives unchallenged how can we influence an ungodly culture when the very nature of that culture is coexisting with with with us in our life and we do not challenge it so it obviously is having that influence so you know what happens we will not be able to impact that system jehu's transformation started by separation listen the separation was a picture of consecration which actually led to his elevation into another dimension there had to be separation from the crowd no separation so that he could act like he was better than them separation so that he could receive what they needed see all he and his friends everyone they were under the influence of this wicked woman called jezebel now we hear about the spirit of jezebel in the day of jehu the woman jezebel was actually influencing the nation now she wasn't necessarily on the throne at the time but she was influencing the kings of the king of israel the king of she was the principality she was the main influence of the spiritual atmosphere of the nation and you can see that in the depression in the oppression in the in the worship of bell in the witchcraft in the in the in a child's sacrifice in the sexual immorality in the oppression and when you trace the effects and the outworkings of that spirit of jezebel or the woman jezebel in this culture and you compare it with our day-to-day i'm telling you it's very much similar to what's going on right now in a whole new level of intensity and i explained this more even in some of my in my book trying to show the parallels between the working of this spirit and our culture today and how it was in the in the days of jehu and how it was in the days of you know the revelation when it talks about the spirit of jezebel and i'm telling you we're living in similar times so god is wanting to do similar things right now and calling us to be separated so that we can be elevated into a new place of impact and influence so jail had to rise first question to you tonight are you ready to rise from your companions now you could arise from your companions in the context of rising from your unbeliever friends not that you don't spend time with them but you are actually making sure that you're strong in the light and there is a clear difference in the way you live your lifestyle now that's quite clear but do you realize in today's culture in today's church culture some of you watching you need to rise from your church companions because some of the negative influence you're actually receiving is not always from non-believers as believers you can actually be unequally used because you need to spend time with people that pull you up you don't need to spend on people that make you feel comfortable in compromise or people that actually lead you in compromise yes and i was saying you may be in a context right now where you might be thinking i don't have a lot of friends that are stirring me and keeping me on fire but god has actually given us channels to feed our spirit and you are in a place where you have the opportunity to surround yourself still with things that cause your fire to keep burning and so you have all this time on your hands but you could decide on what you what you're allowed to feed your spirit what you're allowed to feed your emotions in other words how you spend your time and those things impact on how you feel and so how you feel and where you are in your walk with god is a secondary consequence of who and what you've been fellowshipping with and so there's one aspect of this which is separation from the ways of the world and the culture of the world but then there's another aspect of this with your separation from things around you that do appear to be christian but actually are in a place of causing you to remain lukewarm not challenging you in fight not challenging you in revival not challenging you in seeking the lord and so the first thing that happened to jail which i believe is an important thing that needs to happen to us in this time is a separation and the separation was a picture of his consecration before i go into the next thing i also want to highlight this point when we talk and i'm not going to go deep into what consecration is today but when i say consecration i'm not actually just talking about separation from sin in the context of holiness where we're called to live holy lives when you begin to walk with god and when you begin a sick god you start to find that he starts to put specific callings specific specific instructions on your life calling you to live in a certain way because of the calling that he has on your life and so that becomes like a tailor-made instruction for your life to fulfill his purpose on your life and i said this earlier when i said when god has a special assignment it puts a demand on a life for a special lifestyle and so consecration is not just about separation from sin even though that's part of it consecration is also about god's requirements on you to fulfill his calling on your life and for you to begin to live in alignment with god's requirements on you your obedience to his requirements on you will actually bring about a separation a separation in the way you live a separation in the way you spend your time your money your energy god is not to give you unique instructions i want to say to you if you're walking with god and you haven't got to a place where you find that god is starting to give you some clear instructions as to how how you live and how you spend your energy your time then you want to really you want to really begin to press into go and say lord what are your tailor-made instructions for my life now we're not talking about sin right now i'm saying as you begin to progress because we are we're talking about impacting the spiritual atmosphere of a nation we're talking about impacting the spiritual atmosphere of nations and so this is not just the basic level of okay yes i want to live holy yes i'm going to live right and yes i want to be separated from sin that is definitely a starting point i'm telling you there is another level where god is not just separating you from sin but god starts to separate you from things that are good but not god gods that separate from things that may be okay but actually they're gonna slow you down are gonna stop you from being as sharp as you're supposed to be and the things that he's called youtube and i believe we're living a generation where god is wanting to raise up reformers and for reformers like jehu to be raised there's going to be several levels and layers of separation layers of consecration layers of elevation where god begins to bring you to a new place so what happened next was he was told to rise up from his companions right and then he was taken to a place called the inner room and if i was with you all in a room right now say repeat after me in a room the inner room is the place where the business happens the inner room is the place where god begins to forge his end time warriors the inner room you cannot skip the interim you cannot think oh yeah you know what the inner room is something i'm just going to leave for the men and women of god and i'm just going to coast along and have some sort of impact for god in this generation if you want to aim if you want to impact your generation for god if you want to impact your family for god your community for god the nation and the nations for god you have to have a revelation of the interim and when i say revelation i don't mean just an understanding of importance but it has to become a reality in your life and we see this prophetically in the journey of jehu he was separated to be taken into a deeper place he wasn't just separated from his companions he was separated to god see some people want to just go into the motions of being just disconnected from things oh yeah i am not doing this oh yeah i'm staying away from that but they're not actually separated too the purpose of the separation from is to be separated too and a jay who was being separated to god in the inner room the prophet was asked to take jehu into the inner room where he was going to have an encounter with god people who are going to impact god as people who are going to impact the world for god in this generation are gonna be people who have been in a in a room and have had an encounter with god encounters cannot be overestimated i'm telling you right now you're not gonna change the world because of your intellectual understanding or your theological understanding of god what is going to impact the world is what happens when you've had an encounter with god and you may be in a place where you had an encounter with some time ago some years ago but my question is are you having encounters with god even right now or are you satisfied with the encounter from years ago are you just living in the memory of what god did some years ago how are you living in the reality of what he's doing right now in your life the question is did you the question is not did you say yes to god back then is are you saying yes right now are you following god are you seeking are you pressing into god because i'm telling you encounters have shaped my life where i am right now doing what i'm doing right now is as a result of encounters i've had with god anyone that's gonna impact the world for god is gonna have to have encounters he's gonna have to have places where you have met god in a real way until we stand in a place where we have met god we don't have the authority to change a nation the inner room is where god is calling you to at this time like never before you know we have the picture of the of the temple where you have the outer court then you have uh the the inner court and then you have the holy of holies the inner room is a picture of the holy of holies it's it's a deep place that god is calling you to it's not just a place in the outer cult where there's a lot of uh stuff going on there's a lot of people that can hang out in the outer court but when you go into the holy of holies it's not a place where you have lots of people in there it's actually just you and god and the inner room is a picture of matthew 6 when jesus says when you pray go into your room and shut the door and pray to your father who is in secret and your father who sees you in secret will reward you openly the inner room is the place of prayer the inner room is also known as the secret place do you have a secret place do you have a place where god knows he's going to meet you do you have a place where god can meet you do you have a place where god wants to encounter you he knows where he will find you or are you just one of those that's like you know i'm just going to pray whenever i feel like it i'm just going to pray as i'm walking down the street and nothing wrong with that i'm just going to pray as i drive my cat nothing wrong with that but there are certain types of meetings that you have with god that he's not just going to have those kind of meetings with you on the side of the road you know when you're about to uh enter into like a major business deal or you're about to have a very important strategic meeting you're not just going to have those kind of meetings on the side of the road you're not going to have those meetings anyway you actually wanted you're going to want to create an environment for such meetings to take place okay so those meetings you don't just have them on the run there's an environment created for certain types of meetings to take place in the same way the inner room is the environment created for god to encounter you in the inner room you would receive what's needed to bring about transformation in the culture transformation in your family maybe you're watching this and you're tired and you're feeling the oppression and the cycles of darkness that's going on in your family in your bloodline and you're trying to look for a man of god a woman of god to come and pray for you now there's nothing wrong with that but i'm saying to you if you would learn the secrets and the mystery of the inner room you can receive keys from god in the inner room that will bring about a shift and a change in your situation actually god is wanting you to rise up with the anointing to break the oppression over your own family because listen you have the greatest authority in prayer over your life and over your family not just the man or woman of god over there god wants you to rise from among your family as a voice of influence but for that to happen you have to encounter god in the inner room jehu was taken to the interim and the prophet poured the oil on jehu which is a picture of the anointing coming on him in the interim now the anointing some people think it's like a mystical thing and you know the anointing is only for specific people the anointing is only for preaching the knowledge is only for music ministers listen as a minister let me just rephrase that as a woman as a man as a boy and a girl of god you're called to be anointed okay and listen when the anointing was poured it was poured on a jehu and if you read through scripture carefully and i'm not going to go into this deeply but i want you to understand that there is an anointing that comes upon you and when that anointing comes upon you it is for service it is for action it is for activity the anointing has a high affinity for darkness and works of the enemy the anointing has a high affinity for oppression because the anointing has an assignment to bring destruction to the works of the enemy as a believer you're called to be anointed i am not the one that's called to be anointed while you're just there to watch me be anointed you're called to be anointed just like i am called to be anointed and you are called to be on fire and destroy the works of darkness many believers are scared of the devil many believers are scared of the enemy many believers are running away from darkness afraid to sleep at night why should you be running away from the darkness when the darkness should be running away from you when you encounter the anointing of god and i'm telling you that's gonna happen in the inner room it makes you bold it makes you unstoppable it makes you able to do what other people cannot do and i'm telling you you're going to start to realize that god is wanting to raise you up to do exploits not just the man of god over there or the woman of god over there or this other amazing prophet over here you are called to do exploit you are called to cast out devils you are called to release the power of god over your family you are called to break the yoke of witchcraft and oppression you are not called to be silent you're not called to be bound you're not called to be under the yoke of witchcraft god is gonna give you the keys for transformation you may be watching this right now and you're dealing with a situation where you're struggling to have insight as to the way out you're struggling to see how you're gonna break the yoke of darkness i want to say to you the answer to your problem is found in the interim when the anointing of god comes upon you there are different types of anointings they're deep they're the and the anointing also referred to as graces they're different types of grace and anointings that god can place on you and oftentimes when you're pressing into god he releases the anointing you need for the moment is anybody hearing me today you may be watching this right and you need the anointing to break the oppression of pornography of your life now i do agree that you could get help and get people to pray for you and get people to counsel you and i'm not demanding that at all but you are actually not just called to have people pray for you and the problem with having people pray for you is that they pray for you and they leave but if you don't replace your habit and that way of life with a lifestyle of the inner room and the secret place something may live for a moment and leave you but it's going to come back even worse because you have not mastered the art of seeking god and going deeper in the interim many christians today are a microwave have a microwave mindset we want things very quick we want god to do everything right now we want him to just release his power right now and don't get wrong god does suddenly but those suddenlys often come on the back of consistency of seeking and we don't want to be consistent in seeking god now in this story jehu was called into the inner room and then the oil was poured on him but in our case when you're called into the inner room it doesn't necessarily mean because you've stepped into the inner room the oil is just manifesting in that moment well that's not been my experience because the oil oftentimes comes as you begin to give yourself to a lifestyle of seeking god you know the bible says the anointing destroys the yoke right but i believe it's the lifestyle that brings the anointing that destroys the yolk the anointing does not break the yolk it destroys the yolk when something is destroyed it's not going to be put back together again it's like that's the end of it god is calling us to be those people that destroy the yoke of darkness see in the in the days that we're living there many people that can talk good you can talk good and you can preach good and you can you can impress people but you cannot fake the true anointing of god because it destroys the yokes of oppression it destroys the you see you can't it's it's not how well you communicate none of that is gonna the anointing is something that's found in a deeper place you have to encounter god for yourself and as a ministry pressed on here we are in the business of raising you up to a diy do it yourself in god and what i mean by that it's not it's not it's all about you and your power in your mind but it's not don't just look for someone to pray for you you can pray yourself out of the bondage you're in right now listen you can pray yourself free from the witchcraft oppression you've been experiencing you can pray yourself out from the perversion that has been bombarded in your mind and i'm telling you you're gonna find the answer in the inner room the inner room is not often a fun place for people to go to now i'm going to refer now to psalm 91 because that obviously talks about the inner number of different words it says he who dwells in the secret place now jehu received an anointing from god and as i said earlier that anointing came upon him and when the anointing comes upon you it is for service acts 1 8 you shall receive power after that the holy spirit comes upon you and then you shall be witnesses and so jesus was saying to the disciples there is an anointing in the holy spirit that comes upon you and it helps you to be effective in service but then when you read first john you find that there is another there's another type of anointing and this is the anointing that dwells within you but it says in first john 2. this is the anointing that teaches you all things so there is the anointing that comes upon you but then there is an anointing that dwells within you it is it is the same holy spirit the anointing that comes upon you is for service is for exploits it's for destroying the works of the of the of the enemy however the anointing within you is one that is for communion and is one that's for intimacy with god okay so now let's go to psalm 91 in psalm 91 it says this he who dwells in the secret place of the most high so let's just pause there for a sec so when he says the secret place we you can really you can replace that with this concept of the inner room he who dwells in the inner room okay now let's take a pause on that and let's backtrack again to jehu jehu received an anointing upon him and even though jehu ended up doing exploits at the end of his life he ended up serving idols so the point i'm trying to make is it's not just enough for an anointing to come upon you for a service an anointing to preach an anointing to heal the sick an anointing to to do amazing things anointing for business and anointing for certain activities and you know god has put that grace on you and you you can experience that anointing and actually end up being deceived thinking because the anointing has come upon you you must be in a right fellowship with god listen the fellowship you have with god can trigger the anointing that comes upon you however you have to maintain that fellowship with god which is actually the anointing within you so that's why psalm 91 says he who dwells he didn't say he who visits the interim it is that he will visit the secret place he who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty so it's talking about dwelling in a realm in god where he is anointed you're in that inner room right you know you're not visiting it you're dwelling in that place of communion with god so his anointing becomes one that resides in you while there's an anointing that comes upon you there's an anointing that's called to reside in you why is this critical and i know i'm stressing this why is this critical if the anointing upon you becomes heavier than the anointing within you it ends up crushing you if the anointing that god releases on you for service becomes more intense and becomes your your focus more than the anointing within you you end up being destroyed by the very thing that was released upon you to bring about transformation you see in the days that we're living there's so much happening right now where you know even you have men and women of god that will fall into sin and just horrible things do happen and you hear people say things like well you know but they were anointed of god how could they have been used by god while they were living in immorality how could they have been used by god while they were doing it and while they were doing that and people get confused and don't realize the anointing of god on the life of a believer for service is not a sign of his approval of their behavior you can have an anointing when you speak and when you minister and you could still not be in the right alignment with god and things can happen when you minister and people can get deceived and you yourself can even get deceived and think wow i prayed for the sick and they got healed while i prophesied it was accurate while i did this i must be walking really close with god this is where we need to be so careful because there is a difference between functioning and the gifts of the spirit which have an anointing that come with them and the fruits of the spirit now the anointing within you it actually helps you in the growth of your character it actually helps you in becoming more like christ the nature of christ being formed in you is what happens when you dwell in the secret place and that anointing is actually impacting the way you think the way you live the way you act the way you treat people so there's anointing within you that god's called you still what let's go back to jehu now jehu received the anointing upon him and it was a crazy anointing that brought about the destruction of jezebel as amazing as that was at the end of jehu's life he was not in the best place because he visited the inner room and he didn't dwell in the inner room however god is calling us not to be those who visit he's called us to dwell in the inner room and visit the earth dwell in the inner room and visit the job go to job go to your workplace i think you visit the earth and so you we we're called to live from heaven down not from earth ups we're called to live in a place of communion with god the anointing within you no one really knows where that is so i can deceive you and you can deceive me but you can and we can really not deceive the spirit realm and god really sees where we are at in our walk with him and in these days we're living in there is an acceleration of the gifts of the spirit there's an acceleration of manifestations and people are going after signs and wonders and i'm not against signs and wonders we want to see more signs and more warners i want you to be aware that the enemy can also manufacture signs and wonders and so signs and wonders cannot be the test to see if god is moving or not now think of the signs and ones because the elect will even be deceived by signs and wonders so while we want god to move in signs and wonders we have to look for fruit and fruit you cannot fake it fruit is something that when you get around someone with fruit if they're a bad tree you're gonna see that it's a bad tree buy their fruits by their actions by the way they live by the way they treat their spouse by the way they spend their time by the way they talk you can tell by their fruit you shall know them so church in these days where we talk about signs and wonders and the prophetic ministry let's not get deceived and run away with all these external anointings while we're actually dying on the inside and losing character these days everyone wants to prophesy and everyone wants to release a prophetic word but no one wants to be told to sit down and grow up by the holy spirit because they just want to shine because they just want the world to hear them and have an impact and they want to do this and do that but i'm telling you right now before god announces people to the world especially his true voices he it takes them through seasons where he's actually developing that anointing within where he's crushing where he's making where he's molding where is disciplining where is shaping and so you get to a place where you're not deceived about the fact that god has used you to this to do abcd you start to be aware actually god has used me to do that but i know that god is working with me in here because listen when you start to move in the anointing upon you you start to realize that certain things are possible and certain favor certain doors that are open to you certain opportunities and things that's happening if you're not growing in the inner room in the secret place you can get carried away by the opportunities that come your way because of the anointing upon you you know people say your gift will make room for you well that is very true because the scriptures say that but the anointing of god upon you can open doors that god is not opening so the gift of god on your life can cause you to have favor in places where god is not wanting you to walk in but if you're driven by the anointing upon you you're gonna just run into any open door and think because it's a it's an open door god brought that open door so you walk through it see this is where many believers just chase after breakthrough we just want the breakthrough so the breakthrough becomes our idol and the breakthrough becomes our god and not god himself so when the breakthrough comes we can get easily distracted from the one who is actually the author of the breakthrough don't get deceived i'm telling you this is the point that needs to be stressed over and over again god is calling us to develop the anointing way then that one you cannot fake and that is gonna happen in the inner room in the place also known as the secret place so what is the secret place the inner room i.e the secret place is a location in god the secret place is not necessarily a physical place even though it can be connected to a physical space it could be your prayer room but the secret place is a location it's a geographic location in god now listen i'm calling the inner room psalm 91 calls it the secret place it's not okay let me say this it is a secret place in other words it's a place that secret why is it a secret place why is it not easily accessible because god hides himself for the true seekers to actually find him you know in uh jeremiah 29 there's a famous scripture in dermatory 9 11. you know i know the plans have towards you if you read on he says for you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all here when is then you seek me and find me where are you going to find him we're going to find him in the inner room we're going to find him in the secret place he's there but you have to seek and then when you seek you will find if you if you keep on seeking the diligently who seek him diligently right in hebrews he's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him not just those who seek him wants so if you haven't found him maybe you need to backtrack and realize you haven't actually saw him diligently because he says you will find him when you seek not just when you seek just casual seeking with all your heart so the sacred place is a hidden place in god and it's not easily accessible because god is reserving himself for the truly hungry people so the casual seekers fall by the wayside the casual pursuers of god are gonna get tired and go you know what i've prayed and i've saw god and right now i've had enough so i'm just gonna get on the rest of my life it's the desperate it's the hungry now maybe a good way to illustrate this is when you have something so precious to you when you have something you've spent a lot of sweat energy money on let's say your most expensive you know the most expensive item you own let's just imagine you spent you know money on something really expensive like the most expensive thing you ever own and your friend or someone comes to you and says to you hey can i borrow this okay whatever that this is the fact that they come and say can i borrow this it doesn't mean that you're just gonna give it to them because they ask because it means so much to you you're not just going to give it to the first person that asks you for it you want it you're going to want to make sure that whoever is asking to borrow it or whoever is asking to have it you would want to make sure that they value that thing like you value if i'm thinking of a great illustration right now because a few days ago i was filming and i know judith would not mind me saying this judith is my pa she might be watching so hey judith if you're watching hello we're filming in judith's house and um we had to move a few things around and there was a particular a table that i was about to move you know what judy said and shallow remember dean was like oh don't touch that table doesn't we're like why is well it's a very expensive antique and she was like you know she told us how much it cost i'm like what no way so she's like i'm gonna move in myself so so i was like i didn't even want her to carry her but you know she didn't really care however it was just like i am gonna carry this antique myself because it's so valuable to me i don't know james if you evaluate the way i value it so i'm not gonna let you handle it anyhow i'm gonna carry myself in the same way when you come seeking god he's actually testing you say do you really value my presence like you're saying you value it oh are you just wanting to manipulate my presence to get what you want when you want how you want and then get on the rest of your life which is majority of christians these days let's face the facts we just pray because we want our breakthroughs we want our husbands one of our wives one goes to bless us we want him to make our ministries bigger we want him to give us nice messages to preach and so we just want to receive those blessings and then get on the rest of our lives and it's evident by the fact that when the blessings come we are distracted from the secret place we're now visiting as opposed to dwelling but actually we were going there we wanted the breakthrough we're crying out to god and we're seeking him and when the breakthrough comes the very things we're crying out for becomes our distractions and so god holds himself back in the secret place he hides himself to be found by the true seekers because the true seekers by the nature of their diligence and their pursuits show that they're not pursuing god for things they're not pursuing god for temporary pleasures they're pursuing god for things for for eternal things beyond the natural world they're pursuing god for his sake only and time is gonna have to prove that not just the fact that you prayed for two hours you prayed for three hours so you didn't own that prayer meeting for this here and there it's not the spectacular expressions even though those are awesome god is looking for the consistency in the application of day in and day out the consistency of pursuit of prioritizing the inner room in the inner room there are things that god wants to release and reveal to you their secrets he wants to reveal god reveals his secrets to those he trusts god reveals deep things of his heart to people i can see judy commenting smiling god reveals deep things of his heart to people that he knows values those deep things like he values them are you really wanting god for god's sake are you wanting god just for your breakthrough now i'm not saying don't pray for that breakthrough i'm not saying no cry out to god for shift but realize god is actually after more than that he wants you to dwell in the sacred place and when you start to push into that secret place you start to realize that treasure is not treasure if it's easily accessible and so god is actually wanting you to access deeper treasures in him than you've ever known before and so the accessibility as in we can all come boldly before the presence of god he says that in hebrews we cannot come boldly before the word of god but if we're going to go into those deep places in god it's actually going to cost you something it's not just something that's going to come cheap it is going to cost you something it's going to cost you time you may need to wake up at times you don't want to wake up you may need to go to bed at times you don't want to go there's a pressure is going to place on you because you are actually a seeker god is looking for seekers what's the time my goodness i'm gonna round up with one point about the about uh the secret place and then we're gonna pray god is actually looking for seekers god is not looking for just people that would come and sing songs of worship to him in fact jesus said it this way the hour is coming and now is when the true worshipers will worship the father in spirit and in truth for such the father seeks see the father is seeking worshipers not necessarily worship the father is seeking worshipers not necessarily worship because worshipers true worshipers are seekers and god himself is a seeker see what says in chronicles the eyes of the lord go throughout the earth and what's he doing he's searching so god himself he's a he's a searcher he's a seeker he god was seeking for a jehu generation to rise up and god found that generation he spoke that was his prophet and then jay will eventually find him but just as god is a seeker he wants you and me to be seekers people who will not visit but people who dwell in that secret place we're going to receive a fresh anointing but also in that secret place we're going to receive the prophetic word of the lord because when the anointing came upon jehu that anointing came with an assignment a word you jehu are gonna destroy the hold of jezebel over the culture and so i'm gonna say to you don't just go chasing prophetic words everywhere you know god wants to speak to you god wants to give you his prophetic word for your life don't just be a christian that's like everywhere you go you want us on the prophecy of you now there obviously there's nothing wrong with receiving prophetic ministry but god wants to speak to you himself and the prophetic ministry should confirm what god is already saying anyway i'd rather be hearing straight from god myself than just having someone tell me what they said god's saying to me now thank god for those ministries and thank god for the people that god has raised my wife is a prophet prophetic voice and i believe in the mystery of the prophet but i'm saying i'd rather be hearing from god firsthand because john the baptist was called to be a voice and to be a voice it had to be an ear hearing firsthand he wasn't just repeating what someone else said he heard firsthand from god because he was in that inner room he was in that secret place hearing from god this is gonna be my last point slightly different from what i've said so far but i read this bit of the passage and i wanted to emphasize it because i think it's going to be relevant for someone here today and by the way i know i'm talking about things i've not been able to go into a lot of areas but if you read this i've just got this book out i'll go into a bit more depth in some of these areas uh i want to highlight something about uh uh jehu's companions this this this blew my mind my wife and i were just discussing this as i was writing this book and it just completely blew my mind um how jehu was raised up to destroy this hold of this darkness over the culture but he he was also around some incredible people because one moment jehu was their companion the next moment he just told them he told them what the prophet has said to him that the prophet has said to him i am i have been announced you know the king his companions did not debate with him they weren't jealous of the fact that god had raised their friend up and not them do you know what his companions did his companions they took off their garments and put it on the steps as he rode and you know they declared it they blew the trumpets and the sounded that jehu is king and this is really really critical because in these days we're living in yes god is calling all of us to be anointed god is calling all of us to do exploits for his kingdom but are you gonna be like jehu's companions that when god announces your friend as the one that he's gonna use for specific assignments at a time and maybe you wanted him to use you in that way and god said no i'm not i'm not going to use you but i am announcing this person right now are you going to be like jail's companions that would take off your garment put it on the floor and announce him king knowing that he has now been elevated to a position that technically is above you and over you one moment your companions the next moment he's your king his companions were not jealous now i want you to compare that with joseph joseph's brothers okay were jealous of joseph after he shared his dream with them and they wanted to kill him in fact what they did was they stripped his coat of many colors dipped in blood and you know they sold him into slavery and went and told you know their dad that you know jacob was killed i mean joseph was killed so look at look at this contrast on one hand you have brothers that are competing with one another and another hand you have colleagues that are supporting one another joseph's brothers were not acting like brothers they were acting like competitors and and jehu's brothers jay who's uh sorry jehu's companions were acting like brothers because they took off their coat for him to ride on and joseph's brothers took off his coat from him to dip him blood and sell him into slavery on one hand they are selling him into savory on the other hand they are raising up their companion when you look across the body of christ right now i see this over and over again even as leaders as god is raising people up and god's releasing voices here and there you can choose whether you're going to be like joseph's brothers or you're going to be like jehu's companions where you are gonna learn to support what god is doing in this generation as it begins to anoint voices and it begins to release people into assignments or you're gonna be one of those sitting on the side being jealous and criticizing and saying all these negative words and pulling them down i don't know about you but i'm like god i want to be one of those brothers if god i want to be one of those like one of those the companions if god were to speak to one of us today the way he spoke to jehu imagine you're in church and god spoke to one of your companions say hey you're going to be the next whatever whatever and there was a prophet it was straight from god confirmed and it was the word of the lord and we knew that this person was on the right track and god was raising them up do you think many people would support or do you think many people would end up being jealous around that person thinking well i wish you know why didn't why wasn't i picked for that you know and i'm telling you right now in this generation we're living in god is calling us to deal with those issues of the heart as he begins to layer us into the inner room into the sacred place and what i found is as god has been taking me into the secret place you cannot go into a sacred place and come out the same especially if you really encounter god because he starts to deal with all these hidden agendas he starts to deal with all these insecurities you didn't even know we're there he starts to expose them and you have a choice to bring them before him even though he knows they're really there say lord hey here's the jealousy lord here's the envy lord here's the insecurity here is the pride hair is whatever else here's the work of the flesh that i have been nurturing going on in my heart about this and sometimes people use spiritual language to cover up all this junk but they're not ready to deal with it and this is the tragedy we end up in a place where we are driven by the anointing upon us and we want to look good to the masses but we ignore the dealings of the anointing within us and so we end up in a place where we head for a trade wreck and listen to me the enemy will let you grow the enemy will let you have a big ministry the enemy will let you grow in impact and influence as long as he knows the anointing within is not being still with it right because the higher the rising the bigger the fall i don't know about you i would rather at this time not be one of those that visits and just receives an anointing for a moment and get distracted and deceived by that i want to be one of those that dwells you sustain the anointing upon by dwelling and cultivating the anointing within on that note i'm going to end this teaching session if this has been a blessing to you do share with someone let's pray right now father i thank you for what you're doing across the nation across the nations calling us to the inner room calling us the place of prayer college the place of going deeper in you father today here we are we say yes yes to the dealings of your spirit yes to you yes to everything you want to do in and through us you know right now even as winston just plays on the keys i want you to just steal your heart before the lord and just say lord i choose to be a person of the inner room i choose to be a person of the secret [Music] place [Music] [Music] um [Music] father yes we say yes to you jesus we say yes to the interim life we say yes to the secret place like father we don't want to be shallow we don't want to just get distracted by the culture and the system and the ideal ideologies around us father we want to be completely sold out to this lifestyle because we know you're coming we know you're coming in terms of jesus returning but not just that we know you're coming in a new wave of glory and revival and we want to be lives that you can rest upon in these last days we don't want to be crushed because there's such a heavy anointing coming upon us and there's nothing within us of structure and stamina to with withhold the weight of what you're releasing at this time so father here we are again we're saying lord we want to go deeper we want to dig deeper we want to be people of that secret place where your anointing to destroy the yoke is released and where you're able to speak to us your strategies in this hour your strategies for this hour your strategies for this season [Music] have your way lord have your way lord [Music] [Music] and we're taking off the weights of the world [Music] and we're taking off the ways of this world and we're taking off everything that's hindering us for going in deeper let's drip away loads drip away [Music] [Applause] deeper into your inner room [Music] lord yes jesus yes father we agree lead us lord [Music] and we're taking off [Music] the things that hinder us [Music] us down and we're taking off cause we wanna move forward [Music] laying down everything [Music] easy [Music] wanna rise [Music] to arise gonna rise with you we will arise yes jesus we want to arise with you in this time in this season in this hour so father we agree with that prophetic song and we say lord in this season we would arise with you lord in prayer would arise with you in this inner room jehu went in the room and he was anointed and he was told to arise even arise from his companion but he was lifted into new place an encounter with your presence father we want to be encountering you in a deeper way father so right now we say lord let the obstacles the restrictions the wrong ideologies let them begin to be removed father let the way be paid for deeper encounters father we don't want to be visitors we want to be dwellers in the secret realm in the secret place in the interim we want to dwell in that place yes we will be sent out from that place to impact the world but we want it to become the realm we reside in the realm we live from father and the things that you called us to on the earth so lord we say lord we don't want to live in deception deliver us from self-deceptions father deliver us from distractions and cause us to arise in you in this time father in jesus name we're gonna arise with you we're gonna arise with you we're gonna
