[Music] let's start this compilation with showing you how to fold a shirt in under two seconds here's how lie a short sleeved shirt out flat on its back then draw an imaginary line halfway between the top and bottom of the shirt roughly here and another one halfway between the center line and the outside edge of the shirt about here we'll call the point where the lines cross a the top point b and the bottom point c start by pinching the shirt at point a with your left hand pick up point b with your right hand then cross your right hand over to pick up point c next quickly unfold your arms and finally use the table to fold the shirt back on itself it works with any short sleeved shirt and it can be done really quickly if you're going away for one night and just need a spare t-shirt and some underwear you can place your underwear on the t-shirt here and fold it over like this then place your socks on here next take the top of your t-shirt and start rolling it up if you like you can also add a toothbrush finish rolling it up then tuck your socks over it to hold it all together in a nice neat bundle it's nice and compact and it's easy to unroll when you need it you can cut a rope in an emergency by looping a piece underneath it at 90 degrees like this then pull it back and forth to act as a saw it doesn't take long before you cut straight through it and you can even cut this thick piece of nylon rope with just a thin piece of cotton string if you're enjoying this video you might want to consider subscribing and ringing the notification bell so you don't miss out on my future content if you need to draw a free hand circle you can pivot the paper on the bony part of your wrist here spin the paper underneath hold the pen or pencil firmly then lower it down onto the page pretty cool huh you can draw a medium-sized circle in the same way but by pivoting on a knuckle like this and a small one by pivoting around a finger with some practice you can become surprisingly accurate with this technique if you prefer you can make a diy makeshift compass out of pencils and pens and elastic bands you can even use a paper clip straighten it out or bend it to get different sized circles if you're trying to undo a bolt but haven't got the right sized spanner you can use a coin to fill out the gap it's so simple and works really well do you find your wallet or purse fills up with too many store cards for collecting points well you can just photograph them with your phone then store them in a separate folder next time you're out shopping just flick through the folder until you find the right card and the barcode should scan from the screen of your phone if you're at the supermarket but you find you haven't got the right coin for your shopping trolley you can try using a house key this standard sized key just slips straight in and you can pull out the chain just don't forget to retrieve your key once you've finished your shop you can use an ordinary printer to make a spare copy of a key place the key you want to copy on a piece of white paper then put a coin alongside of it for scale take a photo of it from directly above and transfer it to a computer scale it so that when you print it off it's exactly the same size as the original then roughly cut out the key next i took the lid from an empty food can used some tape to fix on the picture of the key and carefully cut out the profile with a sharp pair of scissors you need to be nice and accurate otherwise it won't work when you're done it should look like this place it up against the original and you can see it's exactly the same this key was actually from a padlock so i'll try it out it takes a little bit of waggling but it really does work you can do a similar thing by heating up a key quickly over a flame to give it a black coating it's probably best to use a pair of pliers to hold it and let it cool down next we're going to use a strip of tape to take an impression like this stick it onto your can lid and it's ready to cut out you can use the plastic lid from a packet of wipes to help keep your snacks fresh it should be stuck on with a tacky adhesive so peel it off then give it a good wash and dry the adhesive is still nice and tacky so we can stick it straight onto our packet of snacks carefully cut out the hole and you can use the lid to keep them nice and fresh [Music] you can reuse the lid time and time again and if you want to you might be able to rub off the original label [Music] if you've got a nice bouquet of flowers but the only vars you have is a bit too big for them to stand up in properly here's a really cool trick fill your vars up with water and make sure the top is nice and dry then use your roll of tape to make a lattice like this over the opening of the vars then take your flowers cut them to length and stand them up in the vars in between the lattice this helps them stand up straight and fills out the space [Music] if one of your gas hobs isn't lighting properly when you press the ignition you can light one of the other rings then take a piece of spaghetti and use it to transfer the flame over to the other hob and turn on the gas you can use cut down plastic bottles then cut a slit down the side of one so they tuck inside of each other and make handy storage containers for spaghetti and rice if you're baking and trying to follow a recipe book you can hook one of these hangers over a cupboard door handle and use it as a book holder if you need to fill up a bucket with water but can't fit it in the basin you can cut a hole in the bottom of a plastic bottle remove the lid and use it as a funnel to extend to the reach of your tap you can break up a slab of chocolate by running it over the edge of a work top like this i'm cutting it open from the top and you can see we now have nice individual pieces you can take a paper plate fold it along these lines and cut it here to make a crate i folded the edges first then did my cutting then fold it again to start making our crate hold it in place with tape you can decorate it with ribbon and if you like you can make some slips along here with your scissors and curl them to make a decorative front it's perfect as a little gift crate for some cookies or something you can stop your car windows from misting up with condensation on the inside by taking a pair of socks and filling them with silica cat litter which is highly absorbent for moisture make sure your socks haven't got any holes in and to help fill it i'm stretching it open over a roll of tape like this then tip in the cat litter once it's filled up to the ankle i removed the tape and tied a knot in it then to make it all a bit stronger i'm tucking it into the other sock it's now ready to put into the car you can put it on the dashboard or hide it under the passenger seat and it'll slowly absorb any moisture in the car steamed up windows will be a thing of the past i hope you've enjoyed watching this video
