I tell you comedy sport music we've got the lot tonight comic genius John Cleese is on the show several times Grammy winner Taylor Swift is on cricketing superstar Kevin Pietersen is here we got music from the legend that is mr. Neil Diamond yeah now obviously I'll be talking to Kevin Pietersen about his controversial new book which is causing quite a stir Kevin was part of the England team that famously won the ashes in 2005 here he is celebrating after words not pacing himself because the next morning he had to be in Downing Street yeah Kevin still hopes to play for England again one day and I know that news has delighted his former teammates it really has yeah lots of copies of his book have been bought by doing the cricket team not sure what they're doing with them you know but but the ashes we are delighted to welcome back Taylor Swift now here she is out and about in New York oh it's not so good it's so perfectly coordinated you know white cast white top and when that goes in the wall she's got plenty of spares in the wardrobe yeah Monday Tuesday I'll be chatting to Taylor about her new single shake it off yeah there she is of course not everyone looks that good lying down in their underwear that have a nickname for the people that follow them around at Taylor's of course for Swifties yeah Lady Gaga's are called little monsters and Jeremy Clarkson's are called and Ankara Argentinian mall this may be the proposed couch we've ever every single one of you although you better hit your head we're gonna pick on you Oh I'll hunt cheer in the corner very welcome very welcome John's head leave it on for now keV now is it keV keV KP KP is fine kept being caught a lot worse for you Kevin I'm at V cafe I'm up it so here's the thing here's an egg obviously we're very happy that cares KP is here but I hope I did a bit of Jenning up on on the cricket a Taylor you spec I think have I seen pictures of you at football matches ah no have you don't think about no no but I went to Lourdes today Lord's beer the place where you play cricket I went to it now if you google cricket it brings up the home of cricket his Lords so she walked through the door tailhook through the doors she bent over Crick of course I know you are no you don't you don't and you don't know a cricketers you wrote a book and you play the cricket and people love hearing and playing the cricket a long game it's very long day yeah yeah it's James Islands right explain to Americans that you can have an international match where England to play India Australia and it goes on for five days and after the end of the fifth day it can still be a draw I know one cricket is I know it's it's relatively violent and there was this episode of friends where Ross is dating an English girl and she sheet her friends her mate just happened her mates get into a cricket match he tries to play and he just like breaks all the bones in his body it's wild I think wasn't that a rugby game rugby okay trigger is I mean it's been on the news I mean you've been on everywhere you built everywhere this week KP like this book you must have known it was going to kind of ruffle feathers when you were writing this I knew it was gonna ruffle feathers I didn't think it was gonna ruffle this many feathers oh I knew it was going to be my side of the story which I was going to be able to tell and be able to just feel very therapeutic about and finishing about goodness yet some yeah this is like life in the air and I think that smell is bridges burning I think you're smelling them from January you are the highest scoring image batsman of all time yet this book would suggest that you're not going to play for England again potentially not no that's what I've got to accept that what I've achieved and what I've been lucky to achieve I've got to be grateful for be happy with and just say you know what there's more to life now and yeah just get on one do whatever I need to do and you're still paid Fricker's I am yeah I've got played tournaments around the world some in Australia good office in South Africa couple India not in America Taylor unfortunately but the Caribbean which is close we love that game so it's it is taking off well actually no here's the thing don't tell you you don't much more you do know about John Cleese yes yes I know about the Bond movies I'm a huge bond fan they're not very good are they what don't be a self hater myself and the Bond movies because I'm part of the plots I look at all the plots I can follow Bond movies you can trick it another little man you could follow the plot in one of the last Bond movies and the titles don't ever do it tomorrow what to masalas that was a shot that was that I always wanted to write a film called the last torn I think you couldn't walk past a cinema about a quantum Asst will tell you like john pease all 50s can buy you this for christmas because john pease report biography yeah easy to wrap and its nicest love the feathers with parrot feathers usually yes you easy to rap thank you very much try the Senate John your book it hit so something to trot who's one of the greatest are mine hmm yours you will get will get back okay Facebook Harry Potter okay what do you talk about Harry Potter Harry Potter meeting in the Harry Potter movie I hated being in it special effects saloons here yeah he's just you're just crushing on your girl's dreams no wasn't good he just actually acting it was awful I'm sorry that I brought it up I really good one of the big characters in your book is your mall cuz your mother is she G sound oh she sounds amazing and that was after she died it is funny you say that because she didn't share your kind of dark earth interviewer avoided she had a what she had an extraordinary sense of human she was she was a depressed woman I have to tell him I used to ring her up really about Mach twice a week and I'd always say hello mom how are you and she she'd say well I think I was a little bit of surprised I feel it a little bit down this week and I don't know what she was surprised because she was a little bit down this week a fifty don't want your mother to be down happier you know and she wouldn't and I would listen to all the reasons laterally when she got old because she died eventually at the ages she was I'm 101 that's a healthy life span the entire 20th century as I said in my state show you know she lived through the First World War Great Depression rise of Hitler and Stalin Second World War atomic bomb foundation of Israel Cold War space age she lived through it all without really noticing any of you anyway I did say to her when she was very depressed one day I said look I tell you what if you're still feeling this way next week I know a little man in Fulham and I could give him a call if you like but only if you like me you come down to weston-super-mare and kill you long silence no she cackled with love from then on anytime that she kind of said to me she was feeling a bit depressed I listened for a bit and I said so should I call the planet it will make her laugh and she say things like oh no I've got a shitty party on Friday because mother's object is Taylor's mother she's a worrier your mother me that's yes that's putting it very lightly because she issued worst-case scenario person yeah we call her worst-case scenario Andrea or or central intelligence Andrea oh she knows everything yes okay yeah so she's a she Google's everything she somehow navigates her way through the internet can't figure out how to work a phone she could have all of your background information and fingerprint so she was the one at Google cricket and message you and said hello cricket so you're gonna blame you you're gonna coffee on my own but yeah my mom and give me the book give me the books I can read up mmm I I don't think we're gonna have a competition here I don't think that your mother was more anxious or phobic than mine was 3.5 then again oh oh yeah I said I used to joke about the fact that she suffered from OmniFocus that is you name it she had a morbid dread of it I once compiled a list of events that frightened her and it was quite comprehensive very loud snoring low-flying aircraft church bells fire engines trains buses and lorries Thunder shouting large cars most medium sized cars noisy small cars burglar alarms fire works especially crackers large radios barking dogs whinnying horses nearby silent horses megaphone sheep Cork's coming out of sparking wine bottles motorcycles even very sports balloons being popped vacuum cleaners not being used by her things being dropped dinner gongs parrot houses whoopee cushions chiming doorbells hammering bombs scooters old-fashioned alarm clocks Ematic drills and hair dryers even those used by her Wow my mom's still still alive so I still have to answer to whatever I say dodgy but she's worried for you doesn't use Arab League's on her she didn't several things gonna happen to you everything terrible is going to happen to me cuz they invent things that you couldn't even believe you yeah she walks into my apartment and kind of let a lot of candles burning in here man you think she's gonna go to the fire hazard you think she's going to say I'm going to burn the place down but she takes a very very quick right turn - you know I saw this program on the news that most people are getting lung cancer from candles these days here's Kevin your dad now my mother is amazing she said cost as much controversies you won in your book say whatever you want tonight serious John come on like your mother this is most interesting I have to do I already see my mother once every six months she still listens that's caring juicing I know you didn't yourself yes yeah it's the heart grow fonder that was a big big distance nice relationships you know what I'm living two miles down the road but I could just turn up when you're doing look after your kid you want them out of phone calls this is I provided an aeroplanes descent assisted the dingdong read aloud no yes that's an ogre well drink of things in common Taylor and John's and God they're the love of the cats now are you - Taylor yeah I have to - I like that of a cat you see those pictures again palsy because I asked Taylor what kind of catch they were and you said they were what well I I only have two he showed a picture of like 17 cats yeah then you that's in your future here comes Taylor crazy cat lady a few years on the road but this is Olivia damn oh how did it have the accident what is it is that a proper cat weirdest cat I've ever seen John Key's you cannot say that is the weirdest cat you've ever seen in your life here's a picture of John Cleese's cat my molester is my wife she's not a monster that's depends on me that is not climbing your curse American breeding the reason it's not here tonight is it didn't want to come but just what it didn't come because KP down there really allergic yeah I'm allergic to cats oh my I'm not a great massive fan of cats yeah yeah that's and I just love rose I'm not a massive fan very selective in like choice of words Oh there'd be a lot of people watching this show never wonder anyone like I mean I'm in South Africa this time next week on Safari and I like the big cats I'm a big big cat absolutely at ease well I prefer to be on probably something people don't know about me I prefer to be on Safari watching animals with animals more than I'd like to be on this sofa or playing cricket animals and me are just I love animals so I'm allergic sorry to keep people I'd rather be anywhere else than here I was giving you a compliment new right outside my other level good here's a weird about it but you see you're the opposite the officer to some for to a cat because if you don't like a cat a cat will come and sit at your ankle a cat will come and sit on your lap that's right and that's what happens in I guess there is your intelligence there among humans do that a dog would say master master who schleich bite mates not refer cats they're really unpredictable and cuss it like women we don't want to do that Taylor Swift at you are back with your new album fists top right oh yeah yeah and this is like not a not a twang ladies and gentlemen not a trying on it this is pop pop pop isn't it listen yeah I mean you can do that all you wanted the other thing is it's a Taylor Swift album because we worried for you because it seemed but you have to go through such awful things to create your albums and now this is an album with no heartbreak there's no kind of songs to Lover's it's it's kind of it's very upbeat positive well I mean it's it's definitely got it still has emotional complexity to it which is the most important thing but it's not about like devastation tiny way rocking back and forth in a corner Sabich definitely much more about kind of the last few years of my life which had been about moving to New York surrounding myself with my friends figuring out who I am independence freedom all of those things and when I am reflecting back on a romantic relationship it's mostly just looking back on the things I learned from it rather than you did this it made me feel like this seems to be the formula are you are you a single lady at the moment yes so now I always think this is this is interesting cuz you're Taylor Swift can somebody ask you out yeah I mean they can and yours go what are you doing it's just not like that it's just that my life is really really busy and really complicated and it becomes kind of too chaotic when I involve someone else in it and that's just something I've observed over time if you give people one thing to talk about they multiply it by 50 and they make all these sensationalized stories up about you if you give people zero to talk about anything x zero is still zero you're on it yeah like it's the new single you just a huge hit everywhere shake it off is that kind of philosophy of not getting bogged down in all that stuff yeah it's a lot easier to deal with kind of this whole chaotic thing where people are allowed to say whatever they want about you and call a newspaper and that it's a national news story it's a lot easier to handle that with a sense of humor and with shake it off I kind of you know in hearing from my fans online it's not just me who deals with gossip it's not just me who deals with kind of how human beings treat each other on a day to day basis it's happening to everyone everywhere and so I figured why not make a song that is about dealing with that letting go of it and comes from a place of strength and also makes people want to dance yeah shake it off yes shake it off yeah great see I've been KP you need this in your life shake it off shake it off I'm the flower shake it off prior shake it off fake Twitter shake it off real bulk but you could shake it off hope now the chapter closes the book the book is shaker that's a shaker oh that's my shake it off shake it off alimony shake well - you can't shake off that's always with us winking the room but suggest you have a lot to be exact that off I think yeah yes 50 percent remember yes I go through it as 50 percent it's so if you theoretically don't you Dave yeah how much money to sailor have all of it I'm gonna take a look at a clip of the singles out now and the album's up on the 27th of October here's Taylor shaking it off Oh see and here's the new album nights 89 and that presumably means it's gonna be another tour yeah there will be another tour I'm really excited to be able be a global festival of Taylor Swift that's that's what we should call it yeah best of all didn't you invite a lot of people to your house fans to your house I heard it on the radio yesterday or the day before but I don't know whether it was fiction or not you know that's true that's true but how do you select them how do you get people to come around your gas well basically I got this idea before I finished the album and I wanted to call it the 1989 secret sessions because I knew before I finish the album that I was most proud of this album more than anything I'd done before and so I wanted to give fans a chance to hear it before it came out like a month before it came out and I'd never done this before but I wanted it to be all fans who had never met me before it had been like I've been to seven shows I've never met you I camped out on the street I waited outside never saw you whatever like I wanted it to be these people who've been so dedicated but I've never gotten to thank them in person we didn't get it in but Jonah may be next next time but but I do think Taylor you know not to sound like worst-case-scenario Andrea but it sounds like a terrible idea there it was it alright well so never doing it again word you're looking for is no actually no you fight you'd fun you'd like to I found them on the internet for the Tim which is it what you're talking about man I would go online I would look at their Instagram pages or their tumblr or their Twitter or whatever and and just kind of watch them for months and months and then I invited them over and the game and they came and there have been like there been notes we've had them at every one of my houses and when did you first start having these feelings happy think this is sweet right so the fans because the fans who go to do it they then of course want to blog about it because they've had this amazing experience when they've long about its borderline confusing on whether they had a good time or not so here are some of the blog things so we were asked to go to the living room sit down not know how much I was sweating during that moment I was like dafuq is going to happen I could not keep up and all of a sudden she just pops about of nowhere she appeared out of thin air like David Copperfield we all died like for real more so she said she weeping her album for us let me tell you the noise looking out of my mouth was not human i legit almost old mama swift to call me an ambulance cuz i wasn't going to make it we love them so much cuz they always talk about dying rest in peace me r.i.p me die dead it'll break we did a little break as she was bossing around rice krispie treats and cookies and i was talking to her mom Friddle and then i walked back in and she was like hey babe thanks for coming do you want to treat and I was like I would but I think oh this is brilliant mid-sentence she stopped talking appointed to Amanda and said Amanda I'm so glad you're here Amanda died perfectly finally guys just wait for the one she did with Imogen Heap cuz damn that one slayed everyone to heaven her back while listening to the song I literally had to plan my funeral we found the reason why she's single I think you just don't pick a bride boyfriend those are those are just people that I like a lot did you internet give me you married a pop star you borrowed a pop singer I mean cuz she stoked me like that did you find your site or would you marry who did that marry who's your girl called Jessica from Liberty X cool was nobody excellent going when you when you is finishing yeah just finishing when you when you got together so it was you didn't have that did you no no we didn't have that video you didn't have fans around the house I invited her around my house I stopped her and she draw me a band cuz it's the book came out why does the response because you know your relationship with the England fans has been you know check so an amazing till the cab drivers and people in the street they're all amazing obviously the last nine months have been absolutely incredible since I was sacked it's just been I mean amazing it has been I think yeah everybody realizes that there was there was issues and it's just been fantastic so this is it the autobiography it's in chops now I'm older look it I know look at that yeah mmmm Kevin is that supposed to be you that's so good is so good yeah yeah you look pretty like it is that a passport passport photo is thing is it fair to say when things are going well when you're all winning yeah everything great when you're losing you all fall out and it's terrible I think that's common in all walks of life when when things are going well people paper over cracks and when things start to go wrong people look for excuses people blame each other but the one thing I'm proud about in that book is that Andy flower knows about all of that stuff in the book before I wrote it and when we were doing well I was still complaining about this stuff that I knew wasn't right with our system and so that's and that's what is what I've reported and I suppose the other thing I was wondering is because you've now kind of lived through it all again writing the book you've gone through this whole experience you know and you know we're making light a bit of it but you know it got pretty grueling for you at various times it was you know very personal you yeah and I just wondered having written all this and gone through it again are other things you would do differently do you look back kind of thing actually I could have had a lot better I could have done something yeah clearly we all make mistakes none of us are perfect we all make mistakes in every walk of life and I certainly made them and what are the things what are the big even is what are the basically one of the biggest mistakes I made was under stress when he played is just before he's hundreth Test match I was involved in their text messaging scandal and for me one of my good friends who was just about a player's hundreth Test match playing a hundred Test matches quite a big thing it's like it's like huge and he his whole week being the captain of the side - okay no I we don't know we got a little bit learning you do your chess match and then you kiss yeah it's a cross it's a contact for breaks bones and stuff okay so so he's doing 100 yes yes so basically I was involved in in that little bit of a scandal the week before his hundredth test match he basically thought in his mind I'm finishing at their Test match he had captained us for a few years he was a fantastic captain he was a very good cricketer a good friend of mine I was involved in a bit of a mix-up and it just went through the me don't mix it should I not ask about that know that you go on yeah that's cricket again okay and basically that just sort of tarnished his week which should have been one of the greatest weeks of his career and I regret that and I feel so sorry for that and yeah it's sort of tarnished and hurt our relationship a little bit which I don't like now how do I put this delicately okay but reading the book it strikes me that maybe just made me team sports not for you great tennis player also we love the art of playing golf that I think really really go for a pee sneak oh maybe not but yeah I probably be happy there too but you love the IPL you were telling me I do I love cricket I love it's the best thing I've been very blessed and fortunate to value just keep listening I love cricket it is a fascinating story and it is a sort of book it will appeal to more than cricket fans because it's a really kind of privileged glimpses own watch cricket everybody I know I didn't expect about that interesting but it is a really kind of great why would I eat a lot of focus on my world but it is a really because it's a hidden world to me and it's a really interesting kind of blend so the dresser we thought it was played with a garden hose hey listen we've got one musical superstar on the sofa already time to be another are singing guest tonight has sold over 130 million albums worldwide and it's quite simply a legend ladies and gentlemen please welcome mr. Neil Diamond here's your there you go sir grab a seat grab a seat wow very welcome very welcome procession I'm sitting backstage listening to this and I'm learned so much about cricket chess matches and it's been great before we do another thing and what are you singing for us tonight I'm gonna say a song from the melody road album the new album that I have and it's my 41st album I'm such a huge fan of your songwriting it's really such a dream thank you thank you so much and I heard you mentioned that this was your fourth album yeah close and it's hard to do it's very hard to do an album and I'm very happy to have reached 41 and onward and upward this is one of the better ones and I think what they're just again so melody road it this is what you do you're a songwriter you write songs and here's an album all new material but because you have this incredible back catalogue but when you do live shows coz there's so many songs that the fans have to hear how do you fit the new material in well we do that we just we change them on various nights and we fit them in and when we go out again and we will go out again and it won't be a secret I can't keep it a secret we'll be touring through the next year with this album and when you do the hits you know the big other it does it vary from country to country what songs get the biggest roar ah not really so what what what's what's what is your biggest hit according to the crowd I have no biggest error my biggest hits are the 20 line sweep 72 maybe Caroline I've done it a thousand times and that's why I can't sing it anymore I turn it over to the audience and let them sing it and they do it very well because Taylor so if you've been out I think the poshest sing-along I've ever seen do you know what I'm talking about oh I do yeah we've got a posh yeah we've got a picture of the three of you Jon Bon Jovi you and Prince William yeah it was insane and I was very nervous for the whole thing because it was at Kensington Palace and it was my first kind of royal encounter of sorts and I was Jon Bon Jovi was on stage and he was singing he was about to sing livin on a prayer and he he kind of pointed to Prince William and said something like I hear you like to do this at karaoke night karaoke boy I was like future King of England karaoke boy is processing all of this he starts the song and Prince William looks over at me and says like I I don't remember it now like it's all gone now like I feel like I don't remember the song now like kind of freaking out and he just looks at me he's like you go to the with me like you got it I was like oh yeah there and we sang along to living on a prayer and like I died Oh Prince William and he is so fangirling Prince William in this picture look at it one is literally died one is planning one state funeral this is aren't you going to sing for us I would love to your band awaits boys the voice is the same the voice is the same it's amazing it's it's not my fault I opened my mouth and that's what I sound like and I can't change it I'm so glad people like it oh thank you thank you very much they know I play the red chair so hello who have you got who've you got hello hello how we do what's your name sir my name is Ben Ben let's get ready Ben over here okay no no wait wait play nice this is why you fall out so where you from I'm from New Zealand why how many people from New Zealand companies for anyone in New Zealand it deserted they're all here you either bad I do I do live here and what do you do mean uh I'm a primary school teacher got you're raising the nation yes at the moment that's okay got helpless where is he where can we find her a Senora Andrea's here better than chai okay deep breath no he's gonna good okay okay be a nut off you go with this story okay so a couple of years ago I took my year for class on a museum sleepover and one of the activities during the night as we gone a midnight spooky walk so we all get in lined with our hands on our shoulders making our fruit way through the pitch-black it was all great we're having great time and when as we're hitting for a doorway nearing the end the kids were screaming one by one getting great great fun it was all going well now what was unknown to me why they were screaming was one of the young girl museum staff was hidden down in a dark corner and she was clutching out at them as they passed and she was grabbing their stomachs now what she didn't think about what she had forgotten was I was also in that line part of the body where does fear so suddenly I felt this hand clutch out of the darkness and yes grab my and she went completely red she couldn't look at me for the rest of the night and yeah let's thank you oscar-winning song Robert Duvall Iron Man Robert Downey jr. music jack from mega value to
