[Music] today we are tackling el crestro gorge look how small make it is right oh your arms slip and just saying what's that el questro gorge is a mustard favorite that we've ever done in our entire life just have a look at this bloody place mate it's just spectacular right yeah it's beautiful good morning guys welcome back to another episode morning if you uh if you'd watched last episode you know we stayed at the pentecost uh river free camp here and we're about to head off and cross the river now yep not much of a river crossing compared to what we've been doing the last few days but still pretty exciting [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we've got a flat tire hopefully it's not shredded and i can fix it with our tyre puncture repair kit but uh not good it's actually not shredded it looks alright i can hear that there's a hole somewhere so i'm going to try and pump it up and hopefully i could put my entire repair kit into it but i don't know how to use it hopefully there's some instructions in there i chucked four puncture repair kit things in there the little slimy things and it's still a slight leak but we're only seven kilometers from where we're going so it should be okay and then we'll uh we'll suss it out from there let's spew an a doesn't matter but six people stopped in that time in the in the 20 minutes it shows how busy it is and shows how nice people are [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] all righty guys we've made it to ellenbrae station they're a little workshop here and they don't have 285 apparently it's not a uh commonly seen tire here so i was a bit surprised 265 is what they use so he suggested to put the spare tire on and uh keep the one we've broken i got punctured as a uh spare so wish us luck at least ours doesn't look that bad [Music] the tyres have changed over and we're going to get some scones now oh yeah what do you think i was just saying i don't think i've ever had a freshly baked scone before so i'm really excited we're like fresh out of the oven anyway it looks delicious i cut into it let's see what are you gonna do what do you mean what am i gonna do i'm gonna eat it sorry you put it in your mouth jam and cream i'm gonna dig in [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right good morning rooney's guys back back on the road this morning so yesterday afternoon uh after my i was gonna say hour swim but my swim but we got chatting to another couple in the campground and yeah we literally just chatted with them for about three hours had dinner and went to sleep so i had six beers couldn't sleep or not yeah it was really cold it was the coldest weather we've experienced in about three months this morning and just on that note of like some meeting people we have met so many good people just over the last like week and a half it's insane changed my whole perspective on people we've yeah we've socialized more in the last week than we have for seven months there's so many nice people out there it's just crazy yeah and nice people exist guys so anyway we are on the road again this morning and we finally hit the graded path oh my god it's like struck we've struck gold it was a nice mirror of a road and then now it's just it's like a highway thank god for that um and the tire we've changed our spare tire over and i've put about 10 puncture repair kit um little i don't even know what to call them these long squishy things and i fixed it i don't know what will happen when you put three and a half tons on it it's all right for now and it's holding 40 psi so if something goes wrong again we've got as high still and i wasn't really keen on paying 600 bucks or something for a new tire so yeah it's uh looking like it's gonna be smooth sailing now so yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] okay so our decision-making process was made a little bit easier when we found out that manning gorge was a four kilometer hike usually that would be like nothing for us but jack's poor toe is uh struggling a bit today oh what a what a disaster doing three hikes on what is probably a broken toe yeah so instead we have come to galvin's gorge yeah uh which we didn't really know anything about but we just passed a bloke and he said that this place was even better than manning gorge so so where our confidence is up with it so uh hopefully it provides the goods it looks pretty good so far [Music] life is a winding road [Music] no telling where it goes [Music] driving through days and nights won't stop for traffic lights and i i really wanna know really wanna [Music] [Music] even if i'm falling down i will [Music] made it to our next camping spot silent grove we're staying here so we can go to bell gorge tomorrow morning for a sun sunrise mission hey megan sunrise mission yeah i'm keen 17 bucks each ay yeah pretty pricey mate the troopy is copying a beating on this road but it's going well it it feels like it can definitely handle it look at her and all the glory man it's just the tyres i'm worried about now everything else i think it'll be perfect hey it's just the tyres let's uh touch some water um plastic so i knocked the plastic table well mate it's dusty times in the troopy i don't think the dust is ever going to leave the troopy for the rest of its life it's everywhere look at that it even got under the cushion here slipped off and this is all dusty so bad the angle i think i think it must be getting in through here and then the alu cab latch is broken and when it hits the corrugations it comes off and then there's a gap in between the seals so i'm hoping there's no bloody dust in there yeah at least our pillows are up there so yeah our pillows we'll have to put our face on at least so uh yeah it's fun times guys fun times but anyway we'll uh see in the morning for the sunrise mission yeah i'm so excited to see oh it's gonna be good but yeah we're lucky with this campsite we got shade so we're gonna relax for the rest of the day i've been thinking of you for two weeks straight i know that i need to get myself back in the game someone said your name suddenly they're standing in the crowd everything comes back in the blink of an eye it's like your mind you're still mine they skip the small talk cause you know me better [Music] since i saw you but it feels like yesterday somehow time has stopped nothing's changed and we skip this photo cause you know me yeah you know me i'm nobody else [Music] nice nutritious breakfast good morning that was a good little walk yeah it's not too difficult okay no easy walk yeah i mean i'd recommend it for the last few days and it was beautiful yeah all right so we're just gonna have a nice simple breakfast this morning yup get a jet ball go and we're off to a cool free camp hopefully on a river hopefully it's not dried up but now it looks really cool the corrugations yesterday killed us yeah i i was saying i went out after we just set up camp and i went and sat out on the camp chairs and i had that feeling that you know when you jump on a trampoline for ages and then you get off and you feel like you're still bouncing on a trampoline i had that feeling it was so strange yeah so you're probably wondering remember we said that the road was um graded it only lasted for like 30 kilometers yeah and then it was back to normal so oh well but uh yeah it's been an experience that's for sure i feel sorry for the car but i mean that's what it's built so deal with it mate [Music] so we've just arrived at our camp for the night and we have absolutely struck gold it is so beautiful and we've even got some firewood and stuff for tonight super shady okay good reason to bring out the old uh chainsaw and you're gonna use i'm gonna be honest i've only used this site twice um but i've got a new chain for it so i need somehow there we go look at that mate i don't know why it's so dirty when you used it twice look at that nice freshy and also when we pulled up we parked on a bit of a hill and i turned the car off and the car rolled forward and there's a weird noise coming from this tire so i'm gonna pull the axle out and i reckon it might be a bearing weird sounding bearing so uh i'll show you when i'm doing that but first i'm going to fix this chainsaw i was cutting the wood up and i have to show you how good these little things are so they actually got a turbo mode they're a makita as you can see you hold the button for five seconds the on button and uh watch this it's awesome [Applause] look at that and it's a pretty decent bit of wood too crazy i reckon it's worth it just got to put more effort into actually getting it out of the car and using it but yeah wicked bit of kid eye i'm going to make a fire now oh my i'll set the fire up i'm going to have a camp covered camp coven camp oven cook up tonight [Music] all righty guys i pulled off the tire and just thought it was the disc brakes but it wasn't because i ended up putting the tire back on and the noise came back because it went away when i took the tire off so i put the tyre on and i was like oh this is definitely a bearing so i pulled out the bearing and as you can see it's screwed and then you look at the brand new one i got it spins like that so uh yeah she's gone that's what was making the noise you can see that it's just stuffed so i'll grease the new one up put it in i've never done it before so if i'm doing it wrong wish me luck but uh i think if i put plenty of grease in there she'll be fine and hopefully that noise goes away and that's what it was so i i came prepared got a terrain tamers seal kit and i've got bearing kit for everything so we're lucky we had that but anyway i'm gonna get on to fixing that and that's what the problem was got the bearing in and the sound's gone away look at that it's not like before sounds brilliant one thing i want to say is before i went on this particular road that we're doing at the moment i've familiarized myself with certain things that can go wrong with the car like the bearings and i watched every single youtube video i could and it's just come in handy all the little tips on youtube have helped hugely in changing this bearing so if i didn't watch those videos i wouldn't really know what i'm doing so do some research before you hit a road like what we're doing and uh it might save you so yeah i'm going to tuck the axle back in bearings in and hopefully that's it and it's block [Music] [Music] standing underneath the lights look into each other's eyes there's no one left but you and me it's like i made a place that only we can see good morning guys we are on our next gorge walk it's leonard gorge we're on our way to and we're just getting here now and check that out what a gorge mate i can hear the water running how are you feeling good i'm not looking forward to coming back up here then it's a three kilometer hike return so it's not too bad but very rocky um and just a quick one as well that campsite we stayed at last night was spectacular we'll pop the name in there but get in early um that's all i'll tell ya because it got he got a bit busy but still it was great all right let's check this gorge out yeah we could i don't know if you can really see it it's just there no you can't see it on the camera i know people do go for a walk around the old fence and i think even some people go right down and swim in it but not feeling that adventurous today so and i think because obviously wet season's over it's not it's not pumping as much as it would i think yeah no it's still nice though it is it's uh pretty big time you see these red rocks it's just insane it's just a massive drop down there it's pretty hard to show on camera to be honest oh yes it's amazing guys worth the hike now we need to uh hike all the way back how exciting all right guys we'll see on the other side [Music] [Applause] [Music] all righty guys we've come to how do you say it windjana jana gorge national park two kilometer return we're doing you can do a seven kilometer one but uh we're not doing that today no we weren't even planning on doing any more hikes today we stopped for lunch and we thought yeah we'll camp here but then we've got so much energy we've got itchy feet and so now we want to just keep exploring we're doing another one there's uh freshwater crocodiles here so that's what i'm keen for yeah you should see some crocodiles but yeah it looks pretty cool not just for hiking and we got our thongs um no water either because all of our water was in the fridge and we couldn't be bothered getting out of the fridge so oh well [Music] how entertaining is this walk oh my god there's so many of them how good is this look at this tunnel now this is our kind of hike that's so cool go let's go hey we're going through uh what's that movie narnia girlfriend what drives the cage same thing this is wicked [Music] hey guys back on the corrugations that national park that's a definite visit yeah that was beautiful and it wasn't even too hot either because it was really shaded so that was really nice yeah and then all the animals we saw we saw the freshwater crocodiles beds butterflies i don't know what that little one was the little marsupial thing oh yeah it was really cute whatever it was yeah so that was it that was a hidden oasis and we were not expecting that sorry for the corrugations in the background um so we're now off far out these corrugations uh we're off to a camp spot it's like an old quarry i think a mine site and apparently spectacular i've been told by mate but we'll just have to go and find out for ourselves so that's where we go [Music] now there ladies and gentlemen is the last water crossing on the gimba river road and probably our last one for a very very long time as well we're going in i imagine we get stuck on the last one but it's all good yeah we've done about 58 yeah they're just we've done that now yeah um but you always have to be careful still i just seen cars go through there so i knew it was all right [Music] [Music] we made it to our campsite and it is beautiful it is nice it's having a nice 4 30 p.m dinner yeah nice and early starting we're parked up next to our first boab tree we haven't uh i think that's how you say it yeah yeah we haven't uh camped next to one of them yet we've seen hundreds but we just haven't stopped and looked at one they're an interesting tree but uh they are an interesting tree um this is our last campsite on the gib i think we're 20 k's from the great northern highway yeah and then it's all over i think we're like a day ahead of our school itinerary but i don't know it was seven days good for us to just keep moving throughout the day and then if you want to take it slower then there's so many beautiful camp sites too there's so many for the day so and you saying that what i enjoyed the most was all the nice campsites not just the gorges the campsites are beautiful and it's just it gives you this feeling of being in the middle of nowhere and it's nice um but yeah it was an experience and a half doing this road um we learned so much about tire pressures and all that can go wrong and all that kind of stuff so that was awesome and we are in no hurry to do the road again no hurry at all give us a year and we'll do corrugations we might be keen again but uh yeah i might do another video on all the things that went wrong with the car because there's a few little unexpected things but all in all the troopy performed quite well definitely happy with it so yeah we're gonna enjoy some dinner and i'm going to light the fire and we're going to relax for the rest of the day and uh we'll see yeah we're going to brew holy crap see you there really quick [Music] one of our favorite strips of coastline yeah in the whole of australia even better than i remember it let's try that such a mistake should we show them why we love this place have a look at it we didn't realise it was a nudist beach down it's not a new dispatch look at the sun look at the ocean got a camp cook up it doesn't get better than this
