The Furthest You Can Travel on a £1.50 Bus Hopper

hello it's Saturday the 14th of September I'm on a train but I'm heading for a bus and when buses are involved then my friend Hugo gets involved hello hello we're back for more bus shenanigans I don't even know what we're doing very good it's time for a bus video and that means I need you guys help [Music] [Music] I like welcome to orpington where war memorial is it yep little more that's just there eight years ago long ago the huge we trying to get the Heathrow 1050 we failed you should still watch that video look at the time we've debated about what's the furthest you could travel for one pound fifty on the hopper and you came up with we can get 26 miles 26.2 miles yeah which is the same as a marathon by doing tell what is very quickly what three thing is we're going to get now we're in order to get the 3/5 fee and that will take us to Paddington village and then we get a tram to East Gordon and then we get the x26 bus to eat ma and that is 26 miles but the key thing is I guess is because the hopper is they say it an hour but it's really 70 minutes so that the key element here is whatever time we tap in here we have to tap in on that X 26 in under 70 minutes and if we do that we've we've made it indeed so we're going to get the ten past three three five three yep that should get us to Addington around three four to get on a tram that should get us to each chord and about four which is under the 70 minutes yeah and then X 26 all the way to he throw yes I like it [Applause] we're the next bus in three minutes whilst we sit and wait for our bus which is come i've post u go the question recently people said to me Jeff why don't you do the least used bus stop or the least used bus service so I know what the least used bus services that will be a future video but I've said to Hugo what's the least used bus stop that is a regular number bus and not like that's not a move not novelty bus and not a school bus so you have a thing like a regular numbered bus what's the least you bus stop in London I'm thinking is Abbas [Music] oh hang on what has happened for the bus nerds is it a special kind of bus yes wave it I don't know I'm not I'm not that you're not that qualified okay no in minutes pass through thank you up top so nine minutes past 3:00 we've touched in so as long as we touch it I'm at x26 by 4 1994 18 419 okay and you've noticed it's an unusual started hearing Orpington we went out here through the lovely suburb of LOX bottom and we're now testing well the last year that paper that they ever made was in March 2016 that's beef editions here device [Music] time is 3:40 where are we approaching Addington village de tren toy it's time to have fun fun fun of the tram tram tram let's do so we got 28 minutes to get to Croydon and get to the tram this should take 15-20 minutes [Music] [Music] onto the tram at 3:45 exactly so we should make croydon by 4 o'clock 5 past 4:00 and the x26 is at 10:00 possible so we've got an easy 5 to 10 minutes window of change we're gonna make it [Music] using the oyster app can confirm in charge one pound fifty for the root three five three and then pop up no money charged to tap in adding to village tram stop just got to make the x26 in the next 20 minutes we've got next 26 and 15 minutes are we gonna make it yes years ago is gonna lead the way is it bus stop EB [Music] yeah we got to East Croydon hey tram exactly four o'clock we got a clear clean ten minutes to make it you want to get a drink then we've got time to the x26 in seven minutes yep we're gonna make it yeah that's too easy give me a harder challenge no don't [Music] thoughts on London's Lisa's bus stop please because you came up with a brilliant theory just now I have the theory for London for one of definitely something that must be on there yes very opposed to the Blackwall tunnel heading south there's a bus stop in a canyon in the canyon of the birch roads and it's horrible and it's awful and I don't know why anyone would ever wait there so so that's on route 108 on the approach to the dark the tunnel black wall Blackwall tunnel sorry sorry we think that might be london england technical tenderly so temper for tap it in lucky tracks luggage racks someone's someone sent in my favorite spot behind the stairs we've one of the kids and we sat in the smoking seats on the backseat Hugo we've done it before so almost 61 minutes after touching in on the three five three this is the point worth noting is that all the TfL publicity will tell you that the hopper fare is valid for an hour 16 minutes it's really 17 minutes light is 69 minutes and 59 seconds they give you that 10 minutes grace and advertiser is paying 60 minutes when in reality you get like 10 minutes over that but if you want to play it right your hopper is 70 minutes so we can I guess we just sit back and have a have this news [Music] [Music] across a whole bunch of people just got off the bus pretty much pretty much empty now we're gonna go one more stop Heathrow central yeah and then to complete our marathon 26.2 mile journey we have to do a sneaky little bit on the end right yeah which we didn't mention until now a little makes em together we'll get there well again there are we there yet so I think if we made it we made it we survived it's one hour it's 5:55 so we got on a tempest floor he would have started at five past four whisper that's one hour 50 minute minute let me see but we're not quite done do you go lead on we are now at fo ether means we are part of something called the heap of free travel zone which means that we can get a bus from here for free to get a total of five I don't understand what welcome number 7 bus if the non TI told us for what it's a non TfL bus but the timetable loop I could hear Porto enjoyable because it's on the TfL bus stop a fine [Music] and in 1815 and a quarter past 6:00 I'm trying to boost our temple 3 yep two three hours later let's go somewhere for something up he met it the chicory you feel like you have traveled on now yeah [Music] join me Hugo come join me Hugo this is it this is the last bit we're on a Heathrow I don't often go out this way so we're on a Heathrow Express train we're gonna go one stop and pick up tear throw and throw Cano trying to do that we're using one of these free we have a lot of these is that gonna focus hang on is that gonna auto focus we have traveled 26 you imagine it on a website didn't you yep site wasn't map tools it led you to a straight line between orpington War Memorial to Heathrow Terminal 5 is a marathon we've covered 26.2 miles for one pound 50 using the hopper fare yep and then a free bus transfer yeah but you think it's beatable because at the beginning we did what we didn't start and the start of the three fight thing so for the gang you only got another War Memorial we know the reason why you do want to risk it was because what because we're already cutting it we were 61 minutes in when we touch this yeah everybody thinks yeah and I didn't really want to take that kind of risk especially off to be fouled on the Heathrow video before so we were playing it safe by getting on at the war memorial but you could if you want to try and beat us you could start a couple of stops maybe two three four five minutes back on that tooth on the four three five three starts where that's the stage here and then come through it is possible but otherwise that is we believe the farthest you can travel in London on a one pound fifty hop affair yeah how do you feel do what do you want a hug but you just want to hop down the train okay you guys do not have a train keep hopping you gonna keep hopping [Music]

I’m just hoping clipper goes obsolete and we can use contactless credit cards for transit like they do in other developed cities
