The Factorio Experience (As A Computer Science Student)

three months ago a video appeared in my recommended about a game I've never heard about and how it was related to computer science and as someone who is studying computer science I was intrigued and after I watched the video I was like hm maybe I should try this game let me download it expand [ __ ] B we can all agree that computer science is all about problem solving you want to make a website or an app you find a problem you spend the day trying to solve it and after you solve it you feel awesome great factorio is problem solving but on [ __ ] steroids maybe you want to link the belts but you don't have the space you spend 10 to 30 minute trying to make it work and finally it works now do it again and again and again and again the reason why Factoria is so addicting is because the problems you need to solve are on The Sweet Spot they are not hard so you rage quit and not easy so you get bored and leave and the reward system is so good man the feeling you get when you see your item being made into transported after you've been trying to make it work for a while I mean the last thing that made me feel like that was Minecraft but at least I didn't play Minecraft for [ __ ] 18 hours a day I will be playing factorio and the last thing I see is light coming out of my window wait did we get nuked no it's [ __ ] 6:00 a.m. in the morning and now I need to get ready to go to college I mean College also make me do all nighter so that's another reason why factor is the same as computer science now let's talk a little bit about the story and the goal of Factoria you are an engineer whose ship crashed in this planet field with these enemies called the biters you have all these resources you can collect so you can make a ship and get out so short story this is every engineer's dream are you kidding me I can grind any resource I want with the quality I want with the pace I want without any limits this is great thanks factorio quick fact yes computer science is part of the engineering team that's true right guys right now I don't know about you but I like numbers the idea of seeing a number getting larger and larger makes my dopamine receptors go vroom vroom a but here's the thing you can't get enough of something in Factoria the more you get of something the more you need of something the more you need of something else so it's a constant cycle of need so no officer killing that guy and stealing his money isn't really a crime if you think about it I need the money so I can buy energy drinks and make the factory bigger speaking of making the factory bigger every time you try to make Factory bigger the pollution is higher and now you need to deal with biters and I [ __ ] hate them but on the other hand I also some like them because if not for them destroying all my progress after playing and being in the zone for 7 hours I wouldn't have gone and ate something and that will had probably killed me so even though you destroy all my really important machines and ignore the furnaces I specifically put for you to destroy them while my tets are trying to kill you I thank you for giving me the opportunity to remember that I have a life that I daily despise the point of this video is to say yes factorio is computer science but more importantly Fighters are just suere you just have to know them better oh [ __ ] off
