The Equalizer 3 Ending Explained

Denzel Washington's mccollins The Equalizer 3 on an intriguing note that doesn't necessarily preclude a potential fourth movie Robert McCall a former dial officer is injured at the beginning of the third equalizer after taking out a sicilian crime headquarters the inhabitants of the Coastal Community of Altamont quickly take him in and care for him as one of their own while he heals unfortunately the camera a mafia organization is putting the villagers in danger as they escalate the violence McCall is compelled to respond with equal Vigor in another plotline McCall helped CIA and Emma Collins by providing her with details regarding synthetic narcotics that were being smuggled out of the mafia headquarters he stormed after McCall murders mafia boss Vincent's brother and it is revealed that the camera is working with terrorists the two men are ready for a last fight in the End McCall murders Vincent and his men in a brutal house invasion Collins receives a promotion despite being hurt and McCall decides to remain in the hamlet giving the impression that he has at last found peace Robert McCall played by Denzel Washington is actually retired the concept that individuals wind up where they're intended to be is a major sub object of The Equalizer 3 and at the end of the third installment McCall seems to have discovered his place in the world with Susan's passing during the first movie and his betrayal by former co-workers the character is shown in the sequel with a harsher perspective McCall looks determined to inflict suffering first and is more cruel and vicious threequel's opening scene has a slasher movie vibe to it as a mafia leader returns home to his Vineyard only to find the dead of his guys all over the place in a Cellar his remaining goons confront McCall who of course easily defeats them all and murders them all prior to this McCall makes a suggestion that the reason he's there is because they stole something that wasn't theirs and then he is later seen carrying an unidentified rucksack he only tells Collins what's inside in the concluding moments according to McCall this Mafia stronghold engaged in hacking and stole a retired man's pension from Boston as a reference to his equalizer two side employment McCall once offered this guy a ride in a lift and he traveled to Italy with the express purpose of returning the man's 360 thousand dollars Collins is baffled as to why McCall would go to such efforts for a complete stranger but she understands when later handing over the bag and witnessing the happiness the man and his wife have as a result of the money being found the camera's goals in relation to the Village The Equalizer 3's adversaries who are portrayed as almost cartoonishly nasty aren't given a lot of character one of their many crimes was hanging an elderly man from a window followed by the amputation of a subordinate's hand many of the shops in Altamont pay them Security money but Vincent has bigger intentions for this tiny Paradise he plans to evict the populace in order to create Resorts and casinos for visitors McCall makes it plain that's not going to happen given how well the people have have treated him what is the Jihad drug Collins investigation into cocaine shipments that were being transferred from within wine bottles at the vineyard McCall Seas is another significant plot line in equalizer 3. the Jihad drug an amphetamine is being marketed by Syrian terrorists to support their operations naturally it turns out that the camera is purchasing the narcotic thus supporting terrorism which is why McCallen lists the CIA in the epilogue McCall forces feeds Vincent a lethal amount of these tablets to give him a taste of his own medicine he then follows the running camera a leader into the Hamlet where he waits until the man overdoses and passes away Collins is The Offspring of Susan Plummer why McCall is assisting a random CIA agent is yet another unanswered question that permeates the whole movie although he and Collins become a good friendship he never explains why he called her this question is addressed at Collins office in the closing scene after she has recovered from a vehicle bomb the camera planted that almost killed her she discovers that McCall has given her his black book and left her mother would be proud in the notes Collins then notices a graduation photo on her desk and reveals that Susan and Brian McCall's former acquaintances are her parents he is putting Collins on the path to become a successful agent like Susan was by serving as something of a mentor to her and then sharing his small book of names and secrets it's yet another indication that McCall is prepared to put an end to his equalizing methods and retire as well The Equalizer 4 isn't feasible The Equalizer series third installment is anticipated to be its final one it's possible that equalizer 4 will Star John David Denzel's son or a digitally aged McCall according to director Antoine Fuqua while several believe McCall would pass away in the third episode which served as the series conclusion this is untrue instead the sequel ends with the character choosing to accept his or her Newfound intercom The Equalizer 3 serves as a fitting conclusion but it in no way precludes a fourth installment another sequel might start out with McCall on another
